AO3 seems to be down right now. (At least Fanfiction.net is still around—or we could always start writing.) Just for fun, here are some HP fest masterlists with fics and artworks hosted on Livejournal and/or Dreamwidth.

(Keep in mind: Some users have submitted the same prompt across more than one year, and these are not necessarily the only prompts that are interesting. Most here have ‘Any’ for the suggested pairing, but other - equally intriguing - prompts for the fest would involve alterations if I didn’t want to stick to the suggested characters or pairings.)

Suggested Characters/Pairings: Any (doesn't have to be characters who canonically have kids) Theme/Tone: Fun & loving, lots of focus on the characters' emotional satisfaction in their dominant or submissive roles, and how it strengthens their relationship. Additional Info: Whatever flavor of D/s you like would be fine here, but if you want suggestions... Service submission? Daddy/Mummy kink? Petplay?

Additional Info: Could be an asexual character, but equally well could be someone who just prefers not to be in a relationship!

Additional Info: You could do some worldbuilding with this around how magic could be used for transition (maybe it used to be forbidden and now attitudes are changing?) but physical transition doesn't have to be the focus or included at all.

Last year (2019), I launched fully into the Damione ship and embarked on a personal 10-fest challenge. I scraped by at exactly 10 fests and 2 drabbles. Yesss. And now for a year of no fests. (Does it count if I committed to one due in 2020 before the year ended?)

Band Crush: Meet the Shah Alam-origin five-piece Heavside, who are bursting onto the scene with their ardent emo rock-infused music

A promising five-piece emotive rock outfit that has been in the making since 2019, Heavside is a Shah Alam-origin act consisting of members Akhil (vocals), Izzul Azmi (guitar), Hafiz Razman (guitar), Edad Naza (bassist) and Hafiz Nazri (drummer). Despite it’s only been than a year since they first emerged as a band, Heavside has built an outstanding profile starting with the release of their debut extended play, “For What It’s Worth” which then saw a follow-up tour held in Malaysia and the next-door country, Singapore. They’ve also opened up for a number of international acts including that of the Australian acts, Idle Eyes, Proposal and Indonesian bands, Car Crash Coma and Senja Dalam Prosa. In a recent quick catch-up interview session with Heavside, writer Ainaa Amirrah asks them about their past live experiences, current plans amidst the Covid-19 and future visions.

Hi Heavside! So how have you guys been doing these days during RMO? 

To be honest, it’s been hard for us. We miss hanging out, the weekly jamming and practice sessions so much. But yeah, we need to do what needs to be done, right? So, to people out there, please stay at home so that we could hang out soon!

What’s new about Heavside? Does the on-going RMO and Covid-19 situation disrupt your creative process or plans in making music? If yes, how do you guys overcome these setbacks? 

Currently, we’re in the midst of writing new songs for our upcoming releases. So far, it’s been a productive period for us since more focus is now dedicated to write new stuff. As of this moment, we almost have four to five new songs that are ready to be put some final salts and peppers on top of them!

Since its inception, Heavside has actively been playing at live shows with the recent gigs witnessing the band become the supporting acts for established acts like the native long-standing indie rock outfit OAG and American’s own Crown the Empire. Perhaps, can you tell us about Heavside since its inception to this moment? 

It was in 2018, when Hafiz and Izzul came back from seeing Movements’ live show in Kuala Lumpur. That was the starting point. All of us already knew each other since most of us have had our own bands previously and even met few times at the gigs. But, since all of the bands went on hiatus, we decided to get everyone together, forming a new band. So, that’s how Heavside was formed.

Having been in the same band now, how would you guys describe the personality of one another? 

If Heavside is a company, Hafiz will be placed inside the Operation or Marketing Department, Edad will be working within the Finance Department, and Akhil and Izzul will be operating as the creatives of the company!

What’re the latest songs and gig that you guys had played for prior to the current Covid-19 situation? Perhaps, any forthcoming plans in the works once RMO is over? 

We would always end our set in each show with our own "A Better Day". So that's it, the last song that we played during 2020AG Tour, the last gig that we’ve played for before Covid-19 overtook everything. The next one in the schedule will be “I Kry A Lot” show organized by BASE Point Event Space. It was supposed to be on 28th March, but now it’s postponed and the new date is yet to be confirmed. So you guys joined the 2020AG Tour last February. As a newly emerged act inside the music scene, how does it feel like to be selected as a supporting act for the Malaysian long-standing indie rock outfit OAG? 

Being able to tag along with the one and only OAG on their series of tour was such a milestone for us. It’s one of the experiences that we’ll keep as our talking points, forever!

What serves as the inspirations for Heavside?  

Our circle of friends play a big role in our writing. Most of the songs we wrote are basically about them. But then again, we don’t have any specific individual when it comes to writing, we would usually just have fun at what we love doing. But who inspires us in life? Each one of us and every single one who has bought our stuff and has fun being with us!

Best gigs you guys have played for? 

It sounds cliché, but all shows that we’ve played for have their own memories and are special on their own. But! If guns on the head, and we got to choose just one, RANTAI ART FEST 2019 would be it, just because there were lots of our close friends who had showed up and sang along with us that day. Amazing!

Best moments that you guys have ever had as a band? 

Whenever we play a show together. Those moments will always be the ones that we are going to keep to ourselves forever. But if we got to choose one, I guess it’s the whole journey of our first Malaysia – Singapore Tour. Five days straight of back to back shows with the boys. By far, there’s nothing that could top those moments yet.

Perhaps, can you tell unfold in-detailed about the Singapore’s tour experience? 

We were quite anxious when we went there for the first time. We didn’t know what to expect. But what happened next was unbelievable. We had a blast! People enjoyed the show, came and bought our merchandise despite the fact that some of them just heard about us few hours before the show. Shout out to Chris, Nick and others from @thirdeyesshow and @dogswain. You guys really made us feel like home during our time there. Love teruk!

2019 was undeniably such a good start for Heavside, you guys released your debut extended play, your first music video and even toured to Singapore. Despite being a band that’s supposedly still on its way of starting up, there have already been so many achievements unlocked. What do you guys feel about this? 

To be honest, we’re kind of overwhelmed with the positive responses and such achievements, being the less-than-one-year-old band that we are. We believe this is all because of the hard works and determination that have been invested into the band. On top of everything, we’re fortunate enough to have dedicated friends and people who keep supporting us, pushing us to go further. Without them, we probably wouldn’t have been where we are now. But still, there’s a lot of room of improvements that we got to work on! We hope, in the coming years, we can achieve more than what we had during our starting year. Fingers crossed!

We all know about the cool merchandises from Heavside! Are they still available and how do we get it? Perhaps, will there be more merchandises coming from the band in future?

Where do you visualize Heavisde within the next half a decade? 

In next five years, Heavside will become a 6-year-old band. So, most probably, by the time, we’re already going to have two albums and one split extended play maybe? And a Europe tour, perhaps?

So, will 2020 be “a better year” for Heavside? 

Ay, we dig the pun! Yeah, of course, we want to have a better year ahead. We already got something planned out, waiting to be rolled out. We’re probably going to release our debut full-length album and go on more tours, not only in Malaysia, but hopefully all around Southeast Asia. Who knows, Japan, Korea and Australia might be in the list? That’s the vision for now.

Never mind the Super Bowl, Beer Advocate’s Extreme Beer Fest takes over the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston this weekend on Friday and Saturday, February 1st and 2nd, 2019. I first attended this amazing festival last year as a brewery rep, and over two days still wasn’t able to try everything I wanted to. This year, returning solely for fun, I knew I had to make a plan of attack. Over 400 different beers from 120+ breweries is too damn much for one regular 3 ½ hour session, and so this list was born, highlighting the beers I most want to try. Keep in mind I’m leaning towards big stouts, especially barrel aged, barleywines, breweries I’ve never tried before, generally not available in the NYC area, and beers that just seem downright insane that were brewed one time for this event.

Seeing as this took me a few hours, I figured why not share it, as I’m sure some other people might appreciate going in with a little bit of a plan.  Breweries are listed alphabetically for easy lookup on the fly. If I could offer a few other tips, go in with food in your stomach, drink water throughout, use the buddy system for waiting on line/getting beer and get the beers you MUST try as soon as possible. 450 North These guys have a lot of hype coming in hot from Indiana, especially with their Slushy series, which will probably go quick. Sushy Peach Dessert- Berliner Weisse with peaches, vanilla, cinnamon, lactose, graham crackers and brown sugar Flap Jack Nuggets- Milk stout with maple syrup, cinnamon, brown sugar and lactose Slushy XXL triple berry-Berliner Weisse with blueberries, blackberries and raspberries Against The Grain Can’t wait to see what the subversive ATG crew does this year after pissing off a lot of people with their short order diner-style order taking system for samples last year. Meta Boost- 11% beer they claim is both stimulant and depressant with capsaicin (hot pepper) and adaptogens (de-stressing herbs) 1776- Dark Ale with molasses and herbs Aslin Enjoyed Aslin’s no-frills booth approach last year with literally a jockey box and that’s it.  The beers however are all-frills, get some early. Genius Kitchen- 15% imperial stout with Nutella, coffee, maple, cinnamon & strawberry Time for That- Barleywine with blueberry, brown sugar, cinnamon & vanilla Baxter Bourbon Barrel Wickid Dark- 10% stout with cinnamon, hazelnuts, cocao nibs, black and chipotle peppers. Rum Barrel Innuendo- 10.5% imperial white stout with cacao, coffee, vanilla beans and lactose aged in rum barrels. Beer Tree Love trying a new NY state brewery, these guys from Port Crane are bringing some interesting brews Double pineapple coconut Creamsicle- Double NEIPA milkshake style minus the lactose Fruita Con Tajin- sour conditioned on mango, cucumber, chipotle and lime Scoby Snacks- low abv ale brewed with raspberry, passion fruit, ginger, lemon and kombucha scoby Black Hog Leaves a Mark- peanut butter- 11.5% imperial stout with real jars of peanut butter Citra Seltzer IPA- 2% super session brut ipa as close to beer seltzer as they could make. No body, no haze just hops and bubbles. Brownie Inception- Wake up Leo this is a brown ale made with brownies made with the brown ale before it had brownies added. Best movie beer award. Boston Beer Co. (Sam Adams) Utopias- this is traditionally a timed release, so check in to see when they start pouring. How could you not get a couple of ounces of Utopias poured for you from a pitcher? The value alone is worth about half your ticket. Brewery Vivant Another big buzz brewery from Michigan, bringing some nicely named unique beers Emergency PTA Meeting- Mezcal barrel aged smoke beer with ancho peppers Wizard Burial Ground- one of the few Belgian style quads at the show, aged in bourbon barrels Burley Oak Maryland’s new sour darlings, get those JREAMS early or you will have nightmares about missing them. Honig-Huhn, gegrillt oder gebacken * Honey chicken grilled or baked * Pollo con miel a la parrilla u horneado * . DSC04274-003

1 ganzes Huhn, bratfertig 200 ml Hühnerbouillon 2 Zweige Rosmarin

Zutaten für die Marinade: 4 TL Sonnenblumen- oder Rapsöl 1 TL Senf, gehäuft 1 EL Honig, gestrichen 1 Knoblauchzehe, gepresst Salz, Pfeffer, Paprikapulver (Mild oder Scharf) Wer es Asiatisch möchte, gibt 1 gestrichenen TL scharfen Curry hinzu. Diese Zutaten solange gut mischen bis sich der Honig vollständig aufgelöst hat.

Zutaten für die Füllung: 1 TL Sonnenblumen- oder Rapsöl und 1 EL Zitronensaft (frisch) in das Huhn träufeln, etwas Salzen und Pfeffern 1 geschälter Apfel (evtl. halbieren), 1-2 Lorbeerblätter, 1 kleine, geschälte Zwiebel, 1 Thymianzweig. Alles ins Huhn geben. Das Huhn gut drehen und wenden, damit sich die Zutaten schön verteilen.

Zubereitung: Nun wird das Huhn gut mit der Marinade eingestrichen. Die beiden Rosmarinzweige werden fest unter die Flügel geklemmt. Jetzt darf es mindestens 2 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur ruhen, damit die Gewürze einziehen können. Falls es im Backofen zubereitet werden soll, diesen auf ca. 180°C vorheizen. Entweder auf einer Aluschale auf den Grill stellen und etwas Hühnerbouillon darüber giessen, oder in einem Bräter in den vorgeheizten Backofen schieben. Während der ca. 50 – 60 Minuten Garzeit immer wieder mal mit der Bouillon und dem Bratensaft übergiessen. Sollte noch Marinade übrig geblieben sein, kann diese in die Bouillon gegeben werden (vermischen). Das Huhn 2-3 x während der Bratzeit wenden. Wenn es auf dem Grill zubereitet wird, lege ich eine Alufolie darüber. Diese kann danach zum Warmhalten wieder verwendet werden. Extra-Tipp: Der im Huhn befindliche Apfel und die Zwiebel schmecken durch den Saft und die Gewürze hervorragend. Nicht entsorgen !!!

1 whole chicken, ready to roast 200 ml chicken stock 2 sprigs rosemary

Ingredients for the marinade: 4 tsp sunflower or rapeseed oil 1 tsp mustard, heaped 1 tbsp honey, coated 1 clove of garlic, pressed salt, pepper, paprika powder (mild or hot) If you want it Asian, add 1 level tsp of hot curry. Mix these ingredients well until the honey is completely dissolved.

Ingredients for the filling: Sprinkle 1 tsp sunflower or rapeseed oil and 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh) into the chicken, some salt and pepper 1 peeled apple (possibly halved), 1-2 bay leaves, 1 small peeled onion, 1 thyme twig. Add everything to the chicken. Turn the chicken well and turn it so that the ingredients are well distributed.

Preparation: Now spread the chicken well with the marinade. The two rosemary twigs are firmly clamped under the wings. Now let it rest at room temperature for at least 2 hours so that the spices can penetrate. If it is to be prepared in the oven, preheat to approx. 180°C. Either place it on an aluminium tray on the grill and pour some chicken stock over it, or put it in a roaster in the preheated oven. During the cooking time of approx. 50 – 60 minutes, pour the bouillon and the gravy over it from time to time. If there is still marinade left, it can be added to the bouillon (mix). Turn the chicken 2-3 times during the roasting time. If it is prepared on the grill, I put an aluminium foil over it. This can then be reused to keep it warm. Extra tip: The apple in the chicken and the onion taste excellent because of the juice and the spices. Do not dispose !!!

1 pollo entero, listo para asar 200 ml de caldo de pollo 2 ramitas de romero

Ingredientes para el adobo: 4 cucharaditas de aceite de girasol o de colza 1 cucharadita de mostaza, amontonada 1 cucharada de miel, recubierta 1 diente de ajo, prensado sal, pimienta, pimentón en polvo (suave o picante) Si lo quieres asiático, añade 1 cucharadita de curry picante. Mezclar bien estos ingredientes hasta que la miel esté completamente disuelta.

Ingredientes para el relleno: Espolvoree 1 cucharada de aceite de girasol o de colza y 1 cucharada de jugo de limón (fresco) en el pollo, un poco de sal y pimienta 1 manzana pelada (posiblemente a la mitad), 1-2 hojas de laurel, 1 cebolla pelada pequeña, 1 ramita de tomillo. Agregue todo al pollo. Voltear bien el pollo y voltearlo para que los ingredientes estén bien distribuidos.

Preparación: Ahora unte bien el pollo con la marinada. Las dos ramitas de romero se sujetan firmemente bajo las alas. Ahora déjelo reposar a temperatura ambiente durante al menos 2 horas para que las especias puedan penetrar. Si se va a preparar en el horno, precalentar a unos 180°C. Colócalo en una bandeja de aluminio en la parrilla y vierte un poco de caldo de pollo sobre él, o ponlo en un asador en el horno precalentado. Durante el tiempo de cocción de aprox. 50 – 60 minutos, vierta el caldo y la salsa de vez en cuando. Si todavía queda adobo, se puede añadir al caldo (mezcla). Voltee el pollo 2-3 veces durante el tiempo de asado. Si se prepara en la parrilla, le pongo un papel de aluminio encima. Esto puede ser reutilizado para mantenerlo caliente. Consejo: La manzana en el pollo y la cebolla tienen un sabor excelente debido al jugo y las especias. ¡No te deshagas de él!

With hot frito dush and Ghost Pepper (oh my!!), the Mac & Cheese really caught our attention at Peppers Cali-Ente.

Title: Hot in the Himalayas

Word Count: 14,000

Summary: Revenge is a dish best served cold. In the icy reaches of the Himalayas, years after their ill-conceived affair, Hermione plots out the steps to her revenge with a few old friends. It just so happens that things don’t turn out exactly the way she plans, not when tempers are running so hot.

Malfoy suddenly turned intense red-rimmed eyes on her and breathed alcoholic fumes in her face as he said, “Hit me, Granger.”

He was completely crowding her space and forcing her to lean backwards over the stone stairs to maintain some semblance of distance. She almost fell over, but he caught her elbow and hauled her upright.

“What?” She tried to struggle free, but the scrawny thing was stronger than he looked. He smelled like he had been dunked into a vat of alcohol.

“Hit me in the face, Granger. You know you want to and it'll make me feel better. I wasn't sorry for third year, but I'm sorry now, for not doing a damn thing while you got tortured—”

“Oh, shut up, Malfoy,” she said and tried to shove him away. Almost everyone she had come across had apologised to her for that. It was strange that he was too, except he had always wanted to be on whatever bandwagon others were on. Also, someone definitely spiked the punch, because she felt decidedly strange being so close to him. She had never found his annoying little face attractive, preferring character over supposed looks, but he had swagger alright, and apparently her hormones were not immune to swagger, no matter what her brain wanted to believe.

“Hit me. Hit me. C'mon, I deserve it and you want to. You know you want to—hit me!”

So she did, because if she hadn't wanted to before, she definitely did now, because he was irritating her so damned much. 

He reared off her, holding one hand to his cheek like he had third year, his mouth open. 

She was the one smirking now, shrugging as he stalked back to grab her by the upper arms. “Hey, you told me to,” she protested.

He didn't seem drunk in the least as he stared down at her with those red-rimmed silver eyes. “I didn't think you were going to!”

She shrugged again. “Well, I can't help it if you're so slappable.”

He scowled down at her and shook her. Just for that, she slapped him again, and then he kissed her.

That shocked the hell out of her, but not as much as his next words, which were, “Merlin, I've been wanting to do that for ages.”

That was when she kissed him back.

This fic, yikes, it took me a bit of fiddling to get it to the final stage. It was borne out of an extremely hilarious episode of Hot in Cleveland, in which vengeance on an old lover turns into all sorts of hilarious arthritic comedy. Needless to say, if Hermione had been completely serious about revenge, Malfoy would not survive.
