I was surprised to see them getting together first, and was NOT prepared for the amount of tenderness, trust and understanding they shared in a casual hookup. all characters are beautifully portrayed: a charming and mysterious Ron, a smitten scheming Harry, a generous Draco who likes to be in the middle (who wouldn’t 🥵). honestly, they are a perfect match. this fic is fun and hot but also achingly romantic - it has a wistful tone I can’t get enough of, and a refreshing poly dynamic that hits just right.

When they had circled their way around the grounds a second time and returned to the house, Regulus felt as if he knew the flora and fauna better than he knew the back of his brother’s hand. His social battery was draining though, and quickly. As a result, he soon realized he’d accidentally tuned Effie out, his tired mind focusing instead on the pretty architecture and the padding of his two feet on the dusty carpet. That was until he stumbled across a striking, framed picture on the wall outside of her office. Regulus typically hated portraits, any photographs with people in them really. The ones in his mother’s house had always made him feel like he was being observed as if they somehow contained the very much alive and well essence of his long-gone, and likely judgmental, relatives. And yet, the picture before him of a gorgeous man with circular spectacles and a salt-and-pepper beard made him feel wholly at ease. 

“Is that your husband?” Regulus asked, not even realizing that he was interrupting her pleasant stream of chatter.

A pained look crossed her face but only for a second before it was replaced by a soft, nostalgic sort of smile, “Yes, Fleamont—or Monty, as he always liked to be called. He passed two years ago.” 

Regulus felt sad for the kind woman who stood before him, and sadder too then as his eyes flitted across the wall of photographs, taking in ones of Effie and Monty first with a small child, then an athletic teen, and more recently he supposed, a handsome young man. In one family portrait, which seemed to be taken at some sort of graduation ceremony, the resemblance to both his parents was uncanny. His father's strong jaw, Effie’s warm smile, both their curly hair. But the part of his appearance that struck Regulus the most was his chocolatey gaze. Their son truly had his mother’s eyes.

“So, you guys definitely came from an alternate reality,” Peter addressed with a welcoming smile as he seated on a couch opposite the Web Warriors (they insisted) while presenting Susan’s best tea blends and some freshly baked cookies courtesy of Mister Grimm; that giant was a miracle worker when it comes to cooking. “I met some of the other Peters before, years ago. It's usually not a good sign when you meet with your alternate variants, kinda like running into a doppelganger or something; supposed to bring bad luck.” He attempted to lighten the atmosphere a little. “Relax, please; everyone here knows I’m Spider-Man, and the Future Foundation is closed for the holidays, we won’t be interrupted, I promise.” Just then, the elevator dings and reveals the rest of the occupants to the gathered Spider-Persons. “Ah, excuse me a little bit,” he got up in a jump and jogged towards the blondes walking out of the shaft accompanied by a man with salt-and-pepper hair, a stone-skinned giant, and a little toddler with strawberry-brown hair hooking her little hand to the pregnant blonde’s. “Couldn’t even wait, huh?” Peter teased the petite blonde who was glued to the pregnant woman’s side to support her in walking. “Hey, Valeria.” He greeted the toddler who beamed back at him with her missing tooth grin.

“Aw! That’s little Val!” Cindy commented as Peter; her Peter, produced a smile at seeing the alternate version of his surrogate niece.

“Dada!” the girl announced with a giddy voice, and it made the 616-Peter choke on his tea, followed along by the Ultimate and Spider-UK while Silk covered her mouth with a gasp.

Ghost-Spider widened her lenses at the call, but mostly at the petite blonde who gave her a sense of curiosity; an action that was mimicked intensely by the woman.

“But Reed and… What…How did you even have the time to…” Peter-616 whined with confusion and disbelief on his face as he gestured toward Hawkeye, Black Cat, and apparently, a pregnant Susan Storm whom his counterpart managed to have relationships with at the same time without it turning into a shit fest “Wasn’t you a Spider-Man in this reality?!”

“Oh, he is,” The sunflower-blonde answered with a scoff “Annoyingly so, but you know, he’s not the only superhero around.” She shrugged her shoulders and helped Susan purchase a seat on the single recliner nearby. She returned her attention to the red-and-blue variant of her fiancé “Ever heard of scheduling or team management?”

Peter-616 was about to protest but then when he analyzed her words carefully, he shut his mouth and settled into the couch with a slouch with Cindy firmly rubbing his upper back sympathetically.

Gwen-65 smirked under her mask, finding the fiery petite blonde amusing; especially the way that the woman expertly shut Spider-Man up effectively with a single sentence.

Dairy-free Roasted Red Pepper Soup

Anyone who reads my posts knows that on New Year’s Eve we feast on hors d’oeuvre throughout the day — no real sit-down dinner. Dessert is later in the evening.

But my cousins sleep over for a couple of days and that means real meals too.

On one of the nights they are with us I usually serve either Rack of Lamb or Rib Roast — the dinner we used to eat on New Year’s Eve long ago before we decided on the nibble fest.

For starters? This soup. Light enough to precede a heavy meat meal and colorful enough for a celebration. Bonus: you can make this a few days ahead!

ROASTED RED PEPPER SOUP

4 sweet red, orange and/or yellow bell peppers

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 medium scallions, chopped

2 carrots, chopped

1 large clove garlic, chopped

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley plus more for garnish if desired

1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves

6 tablespoons raw white rice

5 cups vegetable stock

1-1/2 teaspoons salt or to taste

freshly ground black pepper

3/4 to 1 cup non-dairy milk, optional

Preheat the broiler. Place the peppers under the broiler, about 4-6" away from the heat. Broil for 2-3 minutes, until the skin has blistered. Turn the peppers and repeat this process until the entire surface is blistered and lightly charred. Remove the peppers and place them in a paper bag or wrap in aluminum foil. Let rest at least 10 minutes. Remove the peppers from the bag, peel off the skin and discard the stem and the seeds. Cut the peppers into pieces and set aside. 

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the scallions, carrots, garlic, parsley and thyme. Cook, stirring occasionally for 3-4 minutes or until the vegetables have softened slightly. Stir in the rice. Add the peppers and stock. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, lower the heat and cook at a simmer for 25 minutes. Add non-dairy milk if desired. Puree in a food processor or blender. Serve hot or chilled.

Fazbear Fall Fest '83 Pumpkin Pasta

Ingredients:

- 1 lb (450g) pasta of your choice (penne or fettuccine work well)

- 2 cups pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)

- 1 cup heavy cream

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.

2. In a large skillet, heat a bit of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant.

3. Add the pumpkin puree to the skillet and stir for a couple of minutes.

4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

5. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is well combined.

6. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the pumpkin sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to thin it out.

7. Stir the pasta until it's well coated with the sauce.

8. Serve the pumpkin pasta hot, garnished with fresh parsley or basil if desired.
