Loved it, got this stuck in my head and had to get it out- sadly, I'm stupid and you have to accept that peas = salt in this skit >_>

What does Sweet Pea like to eat?? brb running to get a job so she can have her snacks 🏃
LOL she’ll at least try most things— but she doesn’t really care for sweets or vegetables, or strong seasonings. Her clan definitely has their own culinary traditions (and I’ve been wanting to draw up a whole gnoll food post for ages), but she’s also interested in how people from other cultures prepare food— even if a lot of foreign dishes seem overly-elaborate, fussy, or just puzzling to her. Imagine centering a meal around some steamed or ground-up baked grains instead of meat! Wild.

Courgette and Pea Soup (Vegetarian)
Tumblr media
On a chill Autumn day, this tasty Courgette and Pea Soup makes a warming lunch. Simply delicious! Happy Thursday!
Ingredients (serves 2):
1 large courgette, rinsed
1 onion
2 cups frozen peas
1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 litre/4 cups water
Cut courgette into thick slices.
Peel onion, and cut into quarters.
Add courgette slices, onion quarters and frozen peas to a large saucepan or pot. Season with coarse sea salt, black pepper and dried thyme.
Cover with water, and bring to the boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, cover with a lid, and, and simmer, 15 to 20 minutes, until courgette and peas are tender. Pour mixture into a blender, and process until as smooth as you like. Return to saucepan, and over medium heat, to warm up.
Serve Courgette and Pea Soup hot, with a dollop of crème fraîche, a sprinkle of cracked black pepper, and freshly picked, if you fancy!

this is your hopefully unnecessary reminder to season or not season your food however you want to btw. you should cook based on your own tastes not the mean voice in the back of your head that the internet infected you with

I’m so excited about peas dude, I bought a big bag of them and they’re so good for snacking. They feel like I’m eating like chips or something (Fun Texture, Salty), but they don’t make me feel gross after. They have 8 g of protein per cup and a lot of fiber. Idk man, PEAS!

i will make you eggs, little casper. CRONCH
i've actually been an absolute chef the past few nights 😳😳!! and nobody at all helped me or gave me instructions or reminded me that you can cook food in things other than water. you can, in fact, stir fry things in substances besides tap water and hot sauce. and you can, in fact, cook vegetables along with whatever random piece of fish you've scavenged off the side of the road like a mongrel beast

i don't know how or why, but it seems my obsession with bbc merlin morphed into early medieval lifestyle nerding? i was writing fanfiction, then spent hours researching various aspects of early medieval life, and now i'm finding myself in the kitchen with freshly bought turnips and parsnips and garlic and dome herbs trying to recreate? reinvent (cuz i don't have a single recepy, i just grabbed the ingredients they supposedly had back then and so i'm going to fuck around and find out how to cook it)? so. yes. trying to reinvent early medieval dishes
and no salt, because it was expensive!
