do you think kento has body hair? bc in my head he definitely has chest and arm and leg hair and his pits and happy trail are trimmed just a bit but chest hair on him............. drools

no hate to any fanartist, i just wish there were more drawing him with body hair and maybe a little dad bod because again, in my head, he's not super super buff. he's strong but more in a functional way, like firemen are 🤧 so he does have a little bit of chub and a softer chest for me (us) to snuggle up to

personally i think he's a bit on the leaner side, and not super buff. like he's muscular & strong, but its more toned than anything. ik a lot of people disagree with me... which is fine too HAHHA. but my reasoning for this is that i personally think kento enjoys working out a lot, like running & lifting. but its more for mental health reasons that aesthetic reasons. i tbink he picked it up when he was working a corporate job. i also think he lives a fairly structured lifestyle so see him being pretty big on sticking to a gym routine. also, i could see him not being a big fan of sweets (i think this is canon maybe not) & he likes to cook so i think he has a pretty well-balanced diet. in my head it just makes sense for him to be... thinner i guess HSDFHSDHF. idk if my vision is making sense. but yeah so many people see him & draw him like the way toji is built and i personally do not see him like that!

You wouldn’t typically celebrate something so unsubstantial but the way he has treated you throughout these six months — supplying you with lavish jewellery, your own purebred Appaloosa, endless meals provided by private chefs — was something that deserved to be celebrated. His closest friend, Lizzie Vereker, had praised you for being the first and only person to transform his Lothario lifestyle.

“What’s on the menu?” Your lover asked, snaking his hands around your waist as you piled chopped onions into a pot. Your response was haltered by sloppy kisses being planted up the length of your neck. “Well, it’s French onion soup for start. And I was thinking to do truffle risotto for main.” You inform him, keeping a close eye on the kettle you had begun to boil, anxious to get a start on making the perfect meal. “Mmm, my favourite.” Rupert purred, taking a seat at the dining table behind you and poured you both a large glass of cherry-red wine.

“Just don’t disturb me,” You warn, “Everything has to be perfect.” The muscular man breathlessly sighed — intoxicated on copious amounts of wine and lighting up what must be his 10th cigarette of the hour. “Yes chef.” He remarked, coughing through his first drag. As the kettle had sufficiently boiled enough, you raised it with an unsteady hand, already stirring your onions with the other. Lifting it high enough to pour, you splashed the hot water over the now-simmering onions but subsequently caught yourself in the process. Hand seething and swelling instantaneously, you let out an excruciating yelp and dropped the kettle onto the counter top. Like a flash, Rupert was raised to his feet, stubbing out his cigarette. “My word, what have you done?” Bouncing on his heels in a frantic panic.

Floods of tears expelled themselves from your eyes as you held your limp wrist, blowing air onto the burn in a futile effort to eliminate the pain. “Burning, burning…” Were the only words you could push out through your thickening tears. Taking a firm grip of your wrist, Rupert pushed open the cold tap and held your hand underneath it, the instant cool providing a blessed relief. He settled a tender kiss on your forehead, his own mouth pouting in empathetic gloom. “You must be careful, angel.” He scalded in absolute disbelief at your self-inflicted injury.

Snatching his car keys from the counter top, and instructed you to get an ice pack from the freezer. Doing as you were told, you wrapped the ice pack in a tea towel and kept it pressed firmly on your scalded hand. “Where are we going?” You ask, watching your boyfriend pull on his coat, following him as he stomped towards the front door. “A&E. Sit down.” His firm voice instructed again, finger pointing towards the stairs. He grabbed your slippers and placed them gently over your feet.

Just over an hour later, you were both sat in the eerily melancholic A&E waiting room. You tried your best not to look at the people sat around you, already taking heed of someone clasping a blood-soaked towel to their head. “Rupert, I’m scared. I really don’t feel this is necessary.” You whisper, eyes firmly affixed on the floor. “There’s nothing to be scared of, angel. When I’m with you, you needn’t be scared of anything. We just need to get your hand checked.” He whispered back in response, rubbing his hand softly across your thigh. Taking a deep exhale, you rested your head on his shoulder, wrapped up tightly in Rupert’s jacket. He just made everything okay.

Something is bothering you. Law can tell from the set of your shoulders and the way your smile doesn't quite reach your eyes, but he doesn't press. Not in front of the others, at the very least ㅡ and he knows that at some point or another you'll come to him, as you usually do.

And true to form, you end up wandering into his room when he's stretched out on his bed, propped up enough to rest his book on his stomach.

You don't say a word as you approach the bed, aware of the way he tracks your movement as you climb over his legs and up to his side. Lifting his arms, he makes room for you to tuck yourself against him, head resting at the front of his shoulder.

"Hello to you too," he prompts as you drape your arm over his abdomen.

"Hi," you answer quietly, and he waits a beat before his attention shifts to you fully.

"How are you feeling?" You both know he doesn't mean physically, no fever or illness to combat ㅡ not one that's outside of your mind. He's never faulted you for days like this, never once made you feel like it's your fault ㅡ some days are just harder than others.

"Okay, I guess." Your answer is short, but it isn't a shrug ㅡ progress.

His hand threads into your hair. "Do you want to talk about it?"

You press your face into his shoulder, dropping a soft kiss to it. "Not really."

"Okay," he answers, lets his fingers drift through your hair in a soft, rhythmic motion. You hum at his touch, sighing softly.

"Read to me?" It's an odd request given that the book he has is about poisonous plants and their varying places of origin, but he knows it's less about the book and more about the comfort of his voice when you don't feel like talking yourself.

"Get comfortable," he tells you, and you snuggle so that your forehead presses against the base of his neck. Once you stop moving, he clears his throat and begins to read.

Most of it is latin jargon that still slips smoothly from his lips, and he's barely into reading about Kalmia latifolia before he registers that you're asleep.

He trails off as he glances at you, takes in the delicate flutter of your eyelashes, the soft part of your lips as you breathe. His heart gives the odd lurch as it often does when it comes to you, but he welcomes it now instead of dreading it. Adjusting just enough, Law presses his lips to your forehead.

"Sweet dreams."

The use of lighting of lighting was amazing. The deep blues and reds when things were about to get crazy we’re 👩‍🍳 💋 *chefs kiss*. The use of good lighting always pulls me in.

The vampires actually looked terrifying. I wasn’t expecting that but I loved it! Lately, in other media with vampires in it, they try to make the vampires look seductive and beautiful. This movie said “nope!” and made them look undead x10

The setting/scenery is exactly how I pictured it would look.

All of the performances were really good. There wasn’t one actor or actress that I thought was lacking.

Mark was a little bad ass the whole time. No hesitation, just ass whoopings for any vampire that wanted to try him.

The Good

I didn’t know how I would feel about gender swapping Doctor Cody because I liked his relationship with Ben in the books but having Alfre Woodard play Doctor Cody was a really good idea. In fact, she reminded me a bit of the character she played in a series of unfortunate events.

We didn’t see much of Mr. Burke but I did like what we saw of him.

They did more with Susan! Thank God, because while reading the book it felt like everyone was aware they were in a horror movie and she thought she was just in a romance novel.

Talking about Susan, the way her and Ben met was cute and the way she told him to meet her at the drive-in was smart and a good look into how savvy she can be.

Because of those few seems with Ben and Susan, I’m simply going to need Lewis Pullman in a romcom or just a romance movie.

Lastly, the costumes were really good. I was worried when we saw that still of Susan but the clothing wasn’t in your face saying “IT’S THE 70s”. It was quieter and the hair style Susan has does that really well because my mom has a picture of herself in 76 (?) with that exact hair cut.

The Bad

When I first heard about this I originally thought it would be a miniseries and after watching this film, I’m of the firm belief that it would have been better if it had been a mini series or limited series.

Characters and the town needed to be fleshed out more and there were some scenes that had me on the edge of my seat only for them to end abruptly.

I think we should have seen Barlowe more and that scene where he attacks Mark, his family and father Callahan should have been longer. It was too short in my opinion.

As much as Floyd Tidbits annoyed me in the book, he needed to be more present to give Ben and Susan some more conflict.

The Horrible

There was only one thing that I truly hated and that was that they swapped Susan and Mr. Burke’s story. He should have stayed around longer and I thought it added to the angst with Brum leaving Susan for Ben to have to kill. Especially because they made her a vampire anyways! Why switch their stories!

🍭 What's something they can never agree on (big or small)?

Despite being soulmates, Casey and Bastien very often clash and buttheads 😅One thing they often argued over was their individual approaches to raising their son (Salem). Casey was a bit more of a gentle parent, he wanted to protect his son's innocence--to shield him from the dangers of the world. Baz, on the other hand, is very much the 'we need to prepare him for the world' type. While he understood where Casey was coming from and he also wished the world wasn't what it was--he knew Salem would have to harden up 'just in case'.

Whenever the subject would come up of teaching Salem to fight, or teaching him how to handle a weapon should he need to, Casey would skirt around the issue. And Baz would persist until it lead to an argument. It wasn't until their son started coming home with bruises from bullying (and other incidents) that Casey finally gave in and realized he couldn't protect his son forever and that Bastien was right.

🤎 How do they comfort each other?

Bastien absolutely needs vocal reassurance and physical affection. Whenever he's having a moment, whether it's out of anger or sadness or panic, the moment Casey hugs him and reassurances Baz that he's okay and that he's 'got him', the other starts to calm down. And since Casey's a naturally affectionate person, this comes easy to him and he won't hesitate to become Baz's literal safety blanket. Bastien needs to feel loved and treasured.

When it's Casey's turn, he wants his feelings to be validated and acknowledged. Baz doesn't have to understand, he just needs to listen. He also responds well to physical affection, which Bastien is more than happy to provide. Casey's a bit more emotionally sensitive, so out of the two, he's likely the one to cry a bit easily when overwhelmed. He wants Baz's shoulder to cry on. Casey's comfort is feeling protected and taken care of.

🫦 What's something seemingly innocent that the other does, says or wears that turns the other on?

Bastien's a bit of a handyman, and is often outside working on fixing something on the house, building something, or helping set up stuff in their greenhouse. Casey loves this about him, and really enjoys watching Bastien work. Especially when he does that thing where it lifts his shirt up to wipe the sweat and grime from his face and forehead, and Casey gets a peak of that strong torso and some of that bodyhair. 🤭 Bastien's surprisingly oblivious to it until he notices Casey lingering around longer than he needs to.

As for what Casey does that turns Bastien's crank, unsurprisingly, is when he's a bit angry. 🤭 Casey the pragmatic one of the two, he almost always tries to find a more level headed and rational approach to things. But he can only be pushed so much until he reacts. And it drives Bastien wild--seeing him get all riled up and heated. He likes when Casey is assertive, confident and even cocky. Sometimes even when it's directed at him. 😏 (And bonus question because I am a fool sdkjfghsld)

💋 What is their favorite place to kiss their partner? Do either enjoy 'leaving a mark'?

Bastien has a fondness for Casey's shoulders and back. 💕One of his favorite things to do is hug him from behind and kiss at his shoulders. For Casey, he loves kissing Baz's stomach--especially when he's resting his head on him. His beard usually tickles and he likes when Bastien squirms and giggles because of it. 🤭Both are often covered in marks too, most are usually hidden beneath clothes on more intimate areas--with Baz often sporting the most of them with how often Casey likes to bite.
