How much do you think Sasuke cares about Sakura? It’s obvious he doesn’t love her back, called her annoying couple times, and never visited her for years, but he’s still a kind person and cares about his teammates. Maybe it’s a bit of pity?
putting under read more cuz this is a very anti-ss post in case there are people who would rather not see/read it.
I think you might be new to my blog, I've talked about it a bit before:
sasuke and team 7
sasuke’s feelings for sakura
sasuke taking on his family's wishes as his own
In part 1 sasuke viewed sakura as a teammate who he protected and didn’t want to worry. but he was able to break his ‘teammate bond’ with her that night when he left.
in part 2 he doesn’t even view her as that. during the reunion scene sasuke told the new team 7 he was able to cut off the bonds he had with konoha. however, we know it's only the bond with naruto he had failed to break. I've talked about sasuke's on a whim before too. and then throughout shippuden sasuke explicitly states naruto's importance to him and how he still needs to cut off their bond. sasuke doesn't mention anyone else, because like he said prior, he was already able to cut off all other bonds.
I see ss shippers say ‘sasuke always acknowledged sakura first and she’s the only one he apologised too’ as a means for them to show that sasuke still had a bond with her in part 2, like during the reunion and war arc. despite the fact that after acknowledging her presence (wow #hecaressomuch. guess sasuke cares for kakashi a lot too since sasuke also spoke his name despite kakashi not even being present during the reunion) his attention shifts to naruto and then just ignores sakura for the most part. I won't even bother putting in all the manga panels where sns stare each other down cuz this post would get too long lol. revisit the reunion scene. look at the kage summit arc scene. look at the war arc. they all follow the same pattern. In the war arc sakura herself acknowledges that sasuke doesn’t care lol. I don’t know how much clearer it can get - sasuke says the only one standing between him and complete loneliness is naruto. naruto is his one and only… friend, the one person he needs to cut down. where’s sakura, where's anyone else in this equation?
also sasuke apologised to karin before joining the war arc too. he also apologised to kakashi. sakura isn't special in that regard, and sasuke was only going to take juugo (because of his natural energy) and naruto away from what was surely going to be a killing blow during the war. everyone else sasuke was willing to let die, karin and sakura and kakashi who he apologised to including. sasuke saying "oops sorry" to someone does not equate something extraordinary in relation to bonds. this is what happens when kishimoto stresses how important naruto is to sasuke vs everyone else. people take these panels and blow them out of proportion when in the grand scheme of things don't matter, as shown by sasuke again and again.
in 699 sakura got the brotherly forehead poke which symbolises distance. idc ss shippers can do all the mental gymnastics they want, but that's what the poke symbolises. it's not that sasuke re-invented the meaning behind the poke - itachi used it to keep sasuke away from him, creating distance between them (something sasuke also confronted itachi with) - and that's what sasuke ends up doing to sakura too. which is why before edo-tensei itachi died he brought his forehead to sasuke's, to finally bridge that distance! it's like the simplest things are so hard to understand for ss shippers. they take panels of sasuke when he was happy he got the poke when he was a kid to 'prove' that the poke is a good thing completely ignoring the fact that sasuke didn't know anything about anything at the time. and even as a kid sasuke expressed his displeasure at receiving the poke. and in the end, that's what sasuke does - keeps sakura at a distance. she even ended up chasing him down yikes. how is this lost on people... and then sasuke kept creating even more distance from her. for over a decade. all the while he was meeting up with his bestie too. seems to me like sasuke is using the poke just like itachi originally intended... listen, if u care about someone u take the time to communicate with them, to see them. that's just common sense lol.
in gaiden sasuke does go to help save sakura and he does take those rod things out so he doesn't want her to die lol. but beyond that? he doesn't see his 'wife' for 12 years and the first thing he says is 'why are you here?'; the famous: 'because we have you sarada' line; how miserable he looks during their first family dinner (sakura doesn't look all that happy either really). so he cares to not want her to die but beyond that? what bond do they even have? what meaningful conversations and interactions did they have? girl doesn't even know if her precious sasuke-kun wears glasses cuz they didn't see each other for over 10 years lol. probably the feelings and bond he had towards her in part 1 reformed after part 2 to the uhm interesting bond those 10 chapters that is gaiden showed us.
sakura does try and make herself pitiful around him, she tried to invoke those feelings in her confessions. I think a wife who was implied twice to never have been kissed even though she desperately wants to be kissed is quite pitiful indeed lol.

My Review of Ascendance of a Bookworm
Okay, time to hit up another isekai. After watching a heart-wrenching anime like 86, I need something light-hearted to watch. No…I’m not reviewing 86. Sorry. Okay, let’s get to it!
This is Myne. But not really! You see, Myne was once a librarian named Urano Motosu with a love for reading books. But an earthquake struck and she was crushed by a mountain of books. With her last breath, she wished she could be reincarnated again and read more books with her new life. Now she is reborn in a frail five-year old named Myne. Myne is in a new world, new time, and with a new family. Only thing is, she cannot obtain a single book. Books are hard to come by, especially if you aren’t a noble. And in Myne’s case, she’s at peasant level. Even materials for writing are hard to obtain.
Before one can walk, one must crawl. Myne will go through a lot in order to preserve stories on the printed page. Will this bookworm survive without reading?
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: This one strictly belonged to Crunchyroll and the dub was filled with a lot of people I don’t think I ever heard from before this. So, hearing many of these folks is kinda a new experience for me since I decided to watch the entire thing dubbed. My experience with it was okay until I hit season three. I felt a little thrown off with the pronunciation of one of the characters. Myne’s mother Effa. We clearly hear her name being pronounced as “Eva” in the first 2 seasons. Now all of a sudden, they’re changing her name’s pronunciation. Okay, sure. Why not?! Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.
JAPANESE CAST: *Myne is played by Yuka Iguchi (known for Crusch on Re:Zero, Tsukihi on Monogatari, Mine on Fruits Basket 2019, Mea on To Love Ru, Yuu on Sakura Trick, and Index on Railgun/Index)
*Lutz is played by Mutsumi Tamura (known for Kobayashi on Miss Kobayashi, Kanamori on Eizouken, Ermes on Jojo’s Pt. 6, Young Jintan on Anohana, and Young Ali Baba on Magi)
*Ferdinand is played by Show Hayami (known for Juan on Pokemon AG, Aizen on Bleach, Wolfwood on Trigun, Azami on Food Wars, Gakuhou on Assassination Classroom, and Ichiya on Fairy Tail)
ENGLISH CAST: *Myne is played by Reba Buhr (known for Nikaido on Dorohedoro, Cattleya on Violet Evergarden, Aoi on Demon Slayer, and LLENN on SAO: GGO)
*Lutz is played by Jeannie Tirado (known for Norman on The Promised Neverland, Riko on Love Live Sunshine, Fana on Black Clover, Kanae on Tokyo Ghoul :re, and Zera on Fairy Tail)
*Ferdinand is played by Armen Taylor
DISLIKED CHARACTER: I think it goes without saying that I hate that high priest with a holy passion. After his unsavory debut in the first season, I wished he could have died from his injuries when Myne’s mana went haywire. Sadly, he’s still around. And whenever he shows up, nothing good can come from it. He’s the reason why Myne wound up with disrespectful retainers when she started her apprenticeship at the church. I know the high priest is the go-to punching bag for most people. I am inclined to agree. It’s mostly a bias I have against certain individuals that claim to be a servant to the lord and do shady-ass shit. Yeah, he’s right up there with the Catholic Church, Mike Pence, and Judge Claude Frollo. He’s that bad!
I would have let certain things slide in season two like giving Myne unruly retainers or petty vandalism in the library. But then season three happened and there’s just no forgiveness for what this fat fuck did. I’m just happy he’s finally going to get some much-needed comeuppance.
SHIPPING: Myne x Lutz.
*sigh* I know it’ll never happen for many, many spoilery reasons. And I know it wasn’t canon or official or anything like that. I just want to enjoy their moments in season one and somehow ignore what happens at the end of season three.
AN ANNOYANCE: At the end of each episode, there’s like a chibi/4-panel style short that airs. I wouldn’t call it a preview for the next episode as there is never any mention of what happens next. It’s just random fluff. That doesn’t bother me all that much. Yes, I realize the first season had Ferdinand shown in those moments and we were never properly introduced to this character until like 10 episodes in. What bothered me the most came during the third season. There was one of these segments where Gunther and Myne were talking and he brings up that Myne’s mother had several miscarriages prior to having Tuuli and Myne. Okay, I feel like this sort of thing could have been said during the episode and not put in the passing fancy with the end of the episode LOL fluff. That’s my take on that matter.
END OF SEASON ONE: Throughout this season, Myne has been creating certain items and catching the eye of several key people. Semi-nobles like Frieda and her family have caught wind of Myne’s hair accessories. And a gentleman by the name of Mr. Benno decides to give Myne a chance with items she creates (for the right price). Unfortunately, there’s only so much Myne can do in so much time. Myne has been sick from day one and when really sick, she’ll spend days or even weeks in bed. Mr. Benno seems to think that she has mana (that is only reserved for nobles) and it’s eating her from the inside until she dies. It’s called “the devouring”. Meanwhile, Lutz has been becoming suspicious of Myne. It’s been bugging him for quite a while, but he finally confronted her. Without letting him know about her past life, she does reveal to him that she’s not really Myne and was only Myne for over a year now. Thankfully, Lutz accepted this fact and continues to help Myne pursue her dream and current ambitions.
Myne has been revolutionizing the world she’s living in with products she was able to easily make like hair shampoo, cute hair accessories, and even sweet treats. She did sell those invention ideas, but was able to keep some for her own. On top of which, she’s inching closer and closer to getting her paper goods to be successful. It’s just that her sickness (the devouring) is getting worse and worse. Her friend Frieda was able to suppress one of her attacks one night with the use of a magical item. It’s temporary, but it helped prevent something tragic from happening this time. There’s no guarantee for next time though.
With the way things are, Myne only has one year at most to live. It was a lucky break that Myne was able to get an item because her friend is semi-royal. Unfortunately, all Frieda gets are knock-offs because she isn’t really a noble. But that can all change once her coming of age ceremony comes and becomes a concubine for a noble. Myne’s coming of age ceremony is coming up and being married off to a noble might be her one solution to surviving the devouring. For now, Myne just wants to stay with her parents and if there’s time, set up her paper-making studio with Lutz and Mr. Benno.
The day finally came for Myne to have her coming of age ceremony. At the church, Myne got intrigued by all of the ancient books, scrolls, etc. We also meet Ferdinand outside of the preview setting. He is the head priest of this church. Myne was ready to jump ship and join the church just because they had many books. Let’s just say nearly everyone in Myne’s inner circle objected to that tenfold. Her employer Mr. Benno hates to lose Myne to anyone, especially to the church. And Myne’s parents worry that being in the church can be detrimental to her health since she couldn’t live at home anymore and won’t get a steady income since only nobles in blue robes obtain that and everyone else is just a gray orphan.
Things get a little more complicated when the church learned of Myne’s devouring disease and wanted her even more. Myne is full of overflowing mana and this is something the church wants. This could work to Myne’s advantage if she gets the church to agree to her own terms. Mr. Benno told her to prioritize letting her continue with her studio works, live with her parents, and help with her health. Meeting the high priest of the church went really bad. He didn’t like the fact that Myne’s parents were not of nobility and threatened to take Myne from them by force. This led to Myne’s father beating up church guards. And then Myne went demon-possessed on them all!
Throughout this season, there were moments when Myne’s eyes would go rainbow and has this anger aura surrounding her. This would usually occur when she would get really upset or angry, like in the early episodes and she would try to make clay tablets and they got destroyed. This of course is because of the devouring. Her mana is overflowing and controlling her body. This time, this power affected the high priest by almost killing him. Ferdinand helped calm Myne down and de-escalated the situation that just went down. He agreed to all of Myne’s terms and agreements. In return, Myne will become an apprentice priestess at the cathedral. She will dawn the blue robes meant only for nobles and when she’s not doing that, she will continue to help Mr. Benno. And best of all, she could stay with her family.
Ferdinand will be there quite a bit to keep Myne in check at every moment. Especially, when she gets angry and her mana goes berserk. Because if she harms any higher-up like when she attacked the high priest, dire consequences will be passed down to Myne. But that’ll be a matter for another section of this review.
SIDE STORY: There were two short stories that were aired a month before the second season’s debut. One story was revolved around one of Ferdinand’s men from the church to spy and learn about Myne from the townspeople. The other was Myne, her sister Tulli and mother Eva visiting the fabric maker Corinna.
SEASON TWO: Myne is officially an apprentice priestess. Unfortunately, things in the church might serve to be difficult for her. The high priest has it out for her and is willing to make her life a living hell. This includes giving her retainers (Delia and Gil) that give her nothing but grief. Not just him, but everyone (excluding Ferdinand) hating on Myne because she’s not a noble, but is wearing noble clothing. Let’s just say they’re not fond that a little girl like her got to surpass many of them.
On the positive, part of her job is to read over the royal scripture. A book is a book, I guess. At least Myne made it to a point where she got her hands on the printed word, no matter what it is. Myne does get the idea to make children books during this season. Because her mother is going to have a baby in the coming months, Myne wanted to make children books with the paper goods she’s been making.
END OF SEASON TWO: Myne has to step up her game at the church to prove that she is truly worthy to wear the blue robes despite being a peasant. For starters, she has to prepare for some upcoming events that’ll require her attendance and assistance. Unfortunately, that means Myne will have to stay at the church during the duration of the winter season. That does cause a bit of a hiccup as Myne’s father is fully against it and Myne kinda wanted to stay at home a little more to help out her pregnant mother.
Myne ends up assisting Ferdinand with a mission against some out of control trombe. As demonstrated in earlier episodes, trombe can be dangerous if not controlled and cut down. Such a dangerous entity, but useful in Myne’s mission to making paper goods. This trombe however caused more trouble than normal for Myne. This time it wasn’t her fault in a sense. One of the guards Ferdinand assigned to keep Myne safe was a real shit-head and put Myne’s life in danger and lied about it. This guy put the fact that Myne’s a peasant over Ferdinand’s order. Yeah, he’s in trouble. And then Myne showed him up with the amount of mana she possesses for someone like her. After all of that, we kind of get this scene that I wondered about since I started this series.
This scene was the very first scene from the first episode of the series. Myne with something on her head and Ferdinand going to find out things once and for all. And that’s exactly it, they’re linking minds with magical items so that Ferdinand can lay his worries and fears about Myne to rest. Ferdinand got a first-hand look at what a library looks like in modern-day Japan. Myne got to see her old adult self before she died. And also, Myne almost had a breakdown after seeing her mother and wanting to say goodbye but never got the chance. That scene was pretty rough to watch, along with her hugging Ferdinand. That’s why Myne decides now to say how thankful she is for this family. Gunther, Eva, and Tuuli aren’t the family she knew back before Myne came to this world, but she’s happy for them.
Oh, and we get a scene of Ferdinand and Karstedt discussing Myne and planning to have her be adopted by a noble. Okay, that’ll be a story for season three.
SEASON THREE: Things take a bit of a violent turn in the first episode. In the previous season, Myne was seen asking about alternate inks for the book she wanted to make. The ink guild saw the book and got serious. They came to Benno’s shop and were very scary. And then, these ruffians assaulted Lutz in the street. It is now best that Myne have her winter stay at the church happen now. Meanwhile, it looks as though one of her own retainers can’t be trusted…AGAIN! It’s Delia. Of course, it’s Delia. Gil’s on Team Myne and its going to stay that way. Delia on the other hand is an informant for the high priest.
Myne’s life is about to get a little worrisome. Ferdinand told her that he thinks that Karstedt should adopt her and it was met with harsh rejection from Myne. Ferdinand decided it is best that at age 10 she be adopted by a noble. And at that age if she isn’t under the care of a noble, she will be at risk due to her amount of mana and everything she’s done up to this point.
ENDING: This season we’ve seen the good and the bad. I’ll start with the good. The book that Myne came up with was finally done. She had a lot of help from her retainers, the children from the orphanage, and other allies in the church. Myne was able to spend some quality time with her family as this may be the last years she can be with them. Along with that, the birth of her baby brother Kamil was worth celebrating. But then we delve into the seriousness here when an orphaned baby comes to the church and has the devouring disease like Myne, things take quite the turn for the worst. The high priest is at it again really causing trouble for Myne and just being an all-around fat dick. The high priest invited a noble man to take the baby and use him as a servant. Then, force Myne into a contract.
This plan led to Myne almost being kidnapped, Tulli almost being killed, Delia being deceived, Gunther and Fran injured, and an all-around magic showdown at the church. Myne went into berserk mode when her friends and father were injured by the high priest and this dick-head noble that wants to use Myne’s mana for his selfish wants. It wasn’t until Ferdinand came in the room that things settled. Unfortunately, Myne assaulted the high priest and a noble. They overlooked that crime at the end of season one when her mana caused her to go berserk. This time, Myne, Gunther, Fran, and the rest were to receive punishment for this. But a twist arose.
During this season, Myne met a man named Sylvester. He’s a bit eccentric and can be a bit of a headache. But he gave Myne a charm to form a blood seal if she were to come into trouble. What she didn’t know was that this blood seal was to form a contract with Sylvester. This means instead of being adopted by Karstedt in two years, Myne is to be adopted by Sylvester right now. If this happens, Myne and everyone else will avoid punishment because her status as Sylvester’s daughter will surpass that of the high priest and dick-head noble. Myne agrees. Add to the surprises, Sylvester is the lord of the land, the nephew to the high priest, and half-brother to Ferdinand. Sylvester laid down some much-needed punishment here as that shady noble was to be incarcerated and the high priest got the death sentence for harming Myne.
Sylvester made it official, but with some unfortunate terms. Myne is to be adopted by Sylvester. She will be a noble officially. However, she is to give up her name and her family. She will no longer be known as Myne and the commoner known as Myne will be legally dead. She may never again be with her father, mother, sister, and brother again. If they were to see Myne, they must treat her like a noble and not like a part of the family. Myne’s company and work will continue as paper goods and books are necessary. Myne will now and forever be known as Rozemyne. Rozemyne swears that she will protect those she loves and gives them a special blessing before bidding them goodbye.
This is the end of Myne’s tale as you see with her tombstone. But Rozemyne’s story is just beginning.
We just don’t know because nothing has been green-lit as of yet. But we got a “To Be Continued” at the end. That’s hopeful!
Oh, I loved this anime. I think this was one of my favorite Isekais to come as of recent. Probably up there with Mushoku Tensei and Re:Zero.
I’m going to go off a bit on something I was pondering about for a long time and how I feel about it. This mostly has to do with the story itself and not the anime at all. During season two, I got curious and read some spoilers. Once I finished season two, I really got upset that Myne was to be adopted by nobles and have all communication from her family cut off. The reason behind me being so upset is because at the end of season two, we got that sad scene where Myne is back in her modern world in her original body and her wanting to say something to her mother before she dies. So, learning about Myne’s separation from Gunther and Effa made me really upset. Myne was distraught remembering her mother in the previous life and swore to always say that she loved Effa. But now that I sat through season three, am I still upset by the circumstances? Hell yeah. But I understand that there really was no happy outcome where all parties could be satisfied. Myne was still going to be adopted whether now or in two years like originally planned.
Never mind me prattling on about this crap about adoption. This has been a fun watch and an educational one too. Isekais can get creative with new languages, items, and customs. I always enjoy learning about new worlds in anime. But not just that, I learn something new when Myne brings up something invented in her original world. We learn something new every day. By the looks of things, the light novel is still in publication, so I expect to see more content with Rozemyne and her continuing ambitions surrounding the printed word. Anyways, full recommendation from me!
If you would like to watch Ascendance of a Bookworm, Crunchyroll has every episode (along with the side stories and recaps) available to stream.
Man, I hate to think what I’m going to watch next. The anime following this one must be fucking bullshit.
It is.
*gasps* FINALLY! I GET TO WATCH IT!!!
*This stupidity aside, Medea is really enjoying Carole and Tuesday*

Would you happen to know where this panel is from? I’m having trouble locating it!
You don't happen to have the page where you found this one saved, do you ? It could provide some assistance in locating the source, but I can help you with this: (the tl;dr is that idk but I can eliminate it from the sources I do know of)
I'm familiar with most of the officially published doujins and canon material. Stress on "officially". Usually when Lancer is wearing this white shirt or his colorful one are inspired by FSN as opposed as his FGO appearance, more precisely the FHA (Hollow Ataraxia) influence, perhaps a little of Today's Menu for the Emiya Family might have inspired a few. Either way, I'm 70% certain it isn't part of the officially published doujin or material, which leaves... A lot. Still less than "a lot" counting with the published ones. That leaves out 32 volumes of FGO doujin anthology, for starters. Even so I'm not someone to do things half-heartedly so I double checked the Fate/Hollow Ataraxia manga.
Not even close. Next up would be the Emiya Gohan series. It is easy to tell from a cursory glance it isn't TAa's style. It also doesn't match the styles from all Around Type-Moon or Take-Moon, and it also doesn't match the official adaptations of the Fate, UBW and HF routes in manga. In these Lancer doesn't show up in casual clothes but I checked it anyway.
Then all it is left are the independent doujins. I double checked the doujin sites that I know of and mangadex, but I didn't find any style remotely close, which leaves me to sound really obvious : might be from a doujin site that I don't know of or some other distribution method (ie: discord servers, iirc, p2p). It could also be from a site with doujin auditions that only publish a few pages or artists booths. Which leaves me in a dead end for now.
It also might be on pixiv, but normally saucenao or google images would be able to turn up with something but it is still a possibility. The style does reminds me of らん but it isn't quite that. I also thought of 櫻太助 (Mochisuke aka Sakura Tasuke) but I never saw them drawing Lancer before, only his Caster version.
There are many things that can help identifying the source. One of them is the format of the eyes and how they are colored, even when following a general style like TAa each artist have their own way to draw eyes. The face shape is also telling, but two things that can make all the difference is the level of attention when drawing the eyebrows and the hair strands. Also not all artists draw the little fang.
I'll keep on researching but it would be helpful if you could locate the where you found the panel. To make it easier, you can look the date your file was created/modified and open your browser history on this specific date if you don't have it bookmarked or can't recall.
I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful but I'll keep on looking for it ! I also would appreciate if any of the people following here could help with leads, I'll try to check them all.

Yo, so y'know how in one of your posts, you answered someone's question about how ss fans shove in our faces that sasuke apologized/thanked sakura but not naruto? Well, you talked about how Sasuke actually apologized to Naruto through his tears since he didn't need to verbally apologize since he feels close with Naruto, but with Sakura, he had to verbally apologize since he feels distant from her. I'm just confused because in another post, you talked about SS's "eyesmex" scene and how Sasuke was just thanking her through his expression. Well in that scene, he didn't use his words, did he? So I just think it's kind of contradicting.
Uhh... Okay... Probably I should've explained better by connecting everything.
When it comes to 2 male besties, instead of using words, they always just show the emotions. This isn't something I am making up or googled out... I have a gang of Guy friends who would never use such Taboo words (Sorry/Thank You) amongst themselves and When I asked about it... They simply said, "It's all understood from their actions... We don't expect them to pronounce it out loud and being Formal/Distant... After all we are Friends"
"Don't Say it, Just Show it" is their unspoken agenda. Or in other words, Action speaks louder than words. [[I don’t know if this is kind of Cultural thing or Universal thing...]]
I would've easily taken this Motto as something that's applicable only to Real Life Guys and Not some fictional characters.... Because in some Asian novels, I’ve seen many male characters sincerely apologized to other male characters.
But Not in Naruto.
The Author very clearly applied that No-Taboo thing throughout this series in a much realistic way. For Example, Naruto saved Gaara in Part 1. But Gaara, after that, asked “Sorry” only to his Siblings.... But not towards Naruto.
And am sure you know what happened in the Chunin Exams fight between Gaara and Lee, Right???
Lee was almost mutilated... And yet, when Gaara came to save Lee from Kimimaro in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc...
You can see in the bottom-right panel where Gaara was contemplating a bit after hearing about the troubles Lee faced because of him... Gaara, again didn’t ask ‘Sorry’ or anything... He just showed his ‘Sorry’ by taking over the fight and defeated Kimimaro.....
And again Naruto saved Gaara in Part 2 too.
But this time too Gaara didn’t say Thank You. He just showed his Thanks by shaking his hands with him using his Sand in a dramatic manner.
And this didn’t stop here... Am sure you know everything about Gaara’s War speech about Naruto, Right???? Am not saying that Gaara is doing everything out of Guilt or anything. It’s just that saying a lame word called ‘Sorry’ is nothing in compared to Gaara’s initiation of Friendship & Understanding towards Naruto... It means, ‘Well, I hurt you before.... You still bothered to saved me... Now I want to help you out as a Friend’... There is a difference between doing something out of Guilt and Being Grateful.
[[Off-Topic : This is another reason why Fanfics pisses me off big time because N and S ask ‘Sorry’ or ‘Thank you’ for every 5 sentences.... I am Sorry... Girls, majorly are the most expressive ones in any relationship... Whereas Boys don’t do those formalities. Clearly those authors don’t know the dynamics of Male Friendship in General.]]
Similarly, Sasuke cried in Chapter 698... He then, confessed that he was going to add Naruto into his Family and hence he was planning to understand his Hopes and Pain from there on...
This is Sasuke’s way of apologizing to Naruto. Like he was being immensely Grateful about the fact that there is atleast One Person who had never gave up on him when others did and saved him from his Dark path he was about to plunge into.
And what did Sasuke did in Boruto??? He took that Boruto brat under his wings and trained him, didn’t he??? A Job that Naruto, as a Father must have done. This shows that Sasuke still plays family card with Naruto and his son.
So, it’s not just Tears... It’s what followed after that should also be factored into the Equation.
Gaara hurt Lee.. Gaara showed his Sorry by saving him and help fighting a Tough Opponent.
Sasuke hurt Naruto... Sasuke showed his Thanks/Sorry through his Tears and took part in his dream and became a Family member almost.
Now compare all these things with SS... (Forget SNS... Take Gaara).
Sasuke said ‘Thank You’ twice + once (indirectly) during that Eyesmex scene... And ‘Sorry’ once to Sakura. Did any of those words/action had any follow-ups????
When he said ‘Thank You’ in Part 1, he ghosted her.
After that Eyesmex scene, he put her in a Murdering Genjutsu.
After that ‘Sorry’ and ‘Thank You’ in Chapter 699, Sasuke ghosted her again for a decade.... So, it’s all just empty words and gesture with no follow-ups or action to back it up.
So, my point was that.... Saying just those words or some Protective Gesture under the label of Camaraderie doesn’t even mean anything if Sasuke was not going to let her in his Life.
He couldn’t let her in his life because he don’t feel close with her. All he could do was to just say “‘Sorry’ for my inconvenience and ‘Thank You’ for all your help.”
Whereas with Naruto, that’s not the Case... So, there is no need for Verbal Apology since they are already ‘friends’ and instead Sasuke let his actions speak for himself.
P.S : Naruto said ‘Sorry’ to Sasuke once, if I remember correctly. But it was just Naruto trying to to show his awesomeness... Not a Sorry exactly...
So, Don’t count these things as a serious one...
Naruto never said ‘Thank You’ to Sasuke after he was saved in the Land of the Waves Arc... But Naruto showed his Thanks in Part 2 by going to any lengths to save him... Didn’t he??? For this exact reason, Sasuke never said Thank You or Sorry to Naruto.
Action speaks Louder than Words indeed.
So, Anon... I hope you understand the difference between Sasuke catching her from falling down like a Dead log and Sasuke crying for Naruto. Words mean nothing when you have no action to back it up....

I don’t understand how some people still underplay or even deny the importance of the forehead poke as a profoundly meaningful gesture of love for Sasuke.
Yes, it used to be a source of frustration, given the context when Itachi used to do it. But, as he found out the truth about his brother, he also understood why he had to push him away so many times and it changed the nature of the gesture for Sasuke.
At the time, Itachi was just his older brother, but in reality he had the weight of the village - and the clan - on his shoulders.
At. All. Times.
As much as Itachi loved him and wanted to just be able to spend time with his brother as a normal kid would, he couldn’t afford to do that. He had a great number of responsibilities and his ultimate goal (peace) clashed with his ability to personally experience and indulge in love and affection. In the end, he’d always put the greater good in front of his own, which sometimes meant those closest to him would suffer with his absence and miss him.
Later in life (especially when he had to leave Sarada, I believe), Sasuke understood how much abnegation and unconditional love was truly behind his brother’s gesture.
It was not that Itachi didn’t care about him, it was the complete opposite: he cared so much that his will to create a better world for him was greater than everything else. He wanted Sasuke to live the safe, peaceful life he didn’t have, even if it meant he had to often push him away, leaving him frustrated with just an apology and a promisse.
The fact that Sasuke used this gesture on Sakura when he left the village after the war speaks fucking volumes about his character growth and their connection, and I don’t understand how people can overlook that.
He was leaving his friends behind once again, this time because he had to sort himself and his place in the world out before he could even think about getting further involved. Sasuke isn’t and never was heartless, no matter how much he tried to be. When he realised how sad Sakura was to see him leave once again, he recognised the feeling. She wanted him to stay. To some extent, a part of him deep down wanted that too but couldn’t, because of a greater good, so he left her with a promise and the most symbolic gesture of love and selflessness he could think of. “I’ll see you when I’m back”, a promise he himself hoped he someday could fulfil.
This is just beautiful. This is growth! It further confirmed that Sasuke, the real Sasuke, was back and ready to make his peace with all the trauma and pain he had to endure. That gesture (and the love it meant) was no longer so painful to think about. In that moment, it became a way for Sasuke to communicate his own feelings. He wasn’t used to it, so he used the best reference he could remember to show Sakura that this time he wasn’t leaving her behind like he had done before. On the contrary, he was leaving so he could, someday, hope to come back. He did that to show Sakura that he cared about her and cherished the love she had for him, even if he had to leave and couldn’t quite return them yet.
Said all this, the moment the forehead poke made the greatest impact on me, personally, was in the Gaiden. Sasuke had to leave once again on a mission that would keep him away for years, leaving his family behind. The fact that some readers take this lightly like “he didn’t care, it was actually a relieve for Sasuke” makes me want to punch a damn wall. Are we even talking about the same character? It must have been one of the most difficult things he ever had to do. After being alone for so many years, believing that things such as bonds and family were out of his reach, he finally had it all. He had a home to come back to after his missions, one that wasn’t empty and cold. He had Sakura who gave him a baby girl who adored him and called him “papa”.
And then he had to leave. Again.
For the greater good. Again.
For the sake of the village, sure. But most importantly (I believe) for the sake of his family’s safety, so his daughter could have a bright future ahead of her and a restored honor to her clan. Even if that meant sacrificing his own happiness and that of those closest to him, he’d do it, precisely because of how unconditional and selfless his love for them is. Just like Itachi, Sasuke took the risk of being misunderstood by those he loved so that he could ensure their safety. And, just like his younger self was frustrated by his older brother’s absence, Sarada also grew up resenting her father's apparent neglect and indiferente. But, just like Sakura said, she would understand when she met him. And she did, to a certain degree at least. She doesn’t know everything yet. She doesn’t know scarred her father’s soul truly is, how dangerous his missions always are and how hard it was for him to leave them behind.
I think a lot of people don’t stop to realise that Sarada was the only person Sasuke was shown hugging in the whole series, apart from Itachi. That manga panel and the animation made me cry like a baby because I felt how Sasuke’s heart must have ached at that moment, seeing his daughter cry because of him leaving again. The way he immediately took a step forward and comforted her tore my heart into pieces. The conclusion to that scene was Sasuke once again resorting to the other gesture of love he knew, poking her forehead with his fingers. Just like Sakura years before, Sarada felt the promise and the deep love behind that forehead poke. Her father cared and he wasn’t leaving them, he was leaving so he could protect them the best way he possibly could.
That forehead poke is hope, a promise for better days motivated by the most unconditional love. It’s something started by Itachi that Sasuke carried in his heart for years and is now able to pass down to those he loves.
Honestly, I can’t wrap my head around the fact that there are fans who can’t see this. Also, I’m sorry for those fans because this truly is beautiful.

Club Takamagahara (Part 1) Z
This is probably going to be the hardest to shove the MC into to be honest. But I think my premise is good, but let me know what you think!
MC sat on the edge of a mossy cliff that was covered in scrubby, grey grass. Rocks were patched with bright orange lichen that were splashed on like paint. The sea was blue with fresh melt water from the ice caps that defrosted, a pale blue that didn’t quite reflect the sky. You learned that it was the minerals from the earth that gave the sea this unique color. The breeze caressed your dark hair and drew it across your face.
You’re back in Black Swan Bay in midsummer. You feel that it should be night, but like the winter months were dark with the sun never rising, in summer, the sun never set and the sky was always bright. Most people would never understand how a place like this could be so familiar when for them it was like living on an alien planet, but for you, even though the sky was always brilliant in the summer, you could tell the time of day by the level of light in the sky, a technique acquired by someone who grew up with exposure to an eternal day.
You’re not alone. Boots crunched in the pea gravel and approached. They were black, and lined with fur and half covered with a long, black fur lined coat worn by a young man a few years younger than you. He sat down, stretching one leg in front of him and resting one arm on his knee.
He had dark hair like you, but his eyes were a bright gold in his pale face. You always thought they were beautiful eyes, but now you understood what they meant. He had dragon blood flowing in his veins. He turned to look at you.
You remembered him being reclusive, not talking to you much unless it was to exchange witty banter. He was relaxed, always smiling cryptically, never bothered by the nurses or the rules, but never really getting into any trouble either. He knew your name when you met despite never having met you before. He reached up and brushed your hair back with one gloved hand to tuck it behind your ear.
Your expression goes deadpan. “I’m not dead, am I, Z.”
The golden eyed boy’s expression reflects surprise and then breaks into a hearty laugh. He covers his face with one hand while you watch him try to get control of himself, a warm feeling spreading in your chest that teases a smile out of you.
Z finally stopped laughing and sighed wistfully, looking out over the ocean. “I missed you.”
He turned to you again with a look that was affectionate but calculating, like he was holding in a secret but barely. “No, you’re not dead.”
Your smile fades and you turn back to the ocean. “Why not?”
Z reached to one side of him and lifted a thick book in black leather. On the cover, a golden cross was embossed on it, but the cross didn’t look like a crucifix. Instead, it appeared to be on fire, with the flames appearing to be like a dragon’s wings. Z lifted the golden ribbon that marked a spot near the beginning.
He read from the book, his voice rose over the wind and the crashing waves. “And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power…”
“You’re doing this?”
Z clapped the book shut and it vanished in a haze of golden dust. “I can’t explain everything. The pieces are not in place yet and it won’t make any sense to you. You won’t understand until the very end. That said, I can’t do everything. You had a very close call. So I wanted to warn you not to be too reckless.”
You sit up straight. “You’re alive? Where are you, Z?”
“I am alive but… Like I said, you won’t understand. Just be more careful. Alright?” He’s staring at you seriously. Back in Black Swan Bay, most people ignored his existence, but you felt he was calling you, drawing you to him for some unknown reason. At times, he would just appear next to you, like he was following you around like a ghost. And now you feel lost in those eyes once again in this strange dream world.
“Okay. I promise.”
“Promises are meaningless.” He shook his head. “Just do it.”
You nod again. “Can I ask you one more thing?”
“One more, hurry.”
“Why me of all people? Why not Renata or Vera? Or Anton or...”
“Because you were the strongest … second to Renata.” The world started to go dark, like a curtain was falling over the sea, the rocks and the grass. The wind grew still and you felt a bit stuffy and tired. Soon all you could see were those golden eyes.
“And well… you make me laugh.”
You relax into the darkness and for a moment your mind goes blank. But then your mind revives again. “...was that a Roger Rabbit reference?”
“Dammit, MC! Wake up!” He says in a harsh whisper.
Your eyes open wide. Lu Mingfei - not Z - is leaning over your head, appearing upside down in your view, arms on either side of your face. You blink wearily. “Mingfei?” Your voice is hoarse coming out a dry and scratchy throat.
He puts one finger to your lips. “Shhh… You’ve got to stay quiet. No one knows you’re here!” He’s wearing very fancy clothes, the type of suits you see in photos of weddings and official events from magazines that depict life in Moscow. A black suit, a button down shirt with a stiff collar. Diamond studded earrings were in his ears. His hair was swept back and gelled. "If you keep moaning like that you'll get discovered! The walls are very thin and if you’re discovered we’ll be in BIG trouble!" Lu Mingfei was indeed keeping his whisper very quiet.
You’re surrounded by walls on all sides of you, made of dark wood paneling and covered by shelving from floor to ceiling. Your bed takes up the rest of the space. In fact, Mingfei is leaning over you like this because he can’t squeeze his legs between the narrow space between the bed and those shelves. As you look up at him, you can’t help but notice Mingfei’s resemblance to Z. Perhaps if Z had grown older and been able to eat more, he would have grown as tall as Mingfei.
You examine the curve of his eyes and the lift of his nose and squint. You didn’t notice this before because Mingfei does look different, he talks differently, and he acts differently. He doesn’t give off Z’s mysterious, mischievous, and dangerous aura. Z always looked like he had something up his sleeve. It could be good or bad and you didn’t know until you had it in your hand. The way he talked made you want to know however.
Lu Mingfei always looked fearful, reactionary and caught off guard. If Z was the prankster, Lu Mingfei was the pranked. So it was no wonder that you never noticed the physical similarities between someone so different until you woke up from one face to another face.
He sighed, hanging his head. When he looked up again, deep concern was reflected in his eyes. “I’m so glad you’re alright. I seriously thought you were a goner.. If we hadn’t been picked up and taken somewhere they had a nice kit, you probably would have died out there on the street.”
He lifted your hand. A clear IV tube was running from it to a bag of fluid hanging from a hook nailed into one of the shelves. “Where am I?”
“I.. '' Lu Mingfei’s lips pulled down and he looked ill. “Ugh. It’s better you see for yourself. I don't even know how to begin.”
“Caesar?”
“Oh, he’s fine. And so is Senpai. I’m the one suffering here!” He whispered, casting his eyes to one side bitterly.
He held a clean cloth to your hand, and removed the IV and bandaged it. “I’ll give you the rundown of the situation because we’re seriously up a creek. The Hydras are labeling us as dangerous foreign terrorists, gangsters, and everything else under the sun. They’re running the news to look out for us 24/7. If we show our faces anywhere we are absolutely doomed. They have the whole country after us. We can’t use any credit cards, we’ve lost contact with the college and as soon as we try to get into contact with them, Kaguya is on us like a ton of bricks.”
Ton of bricks. The phrase reminds you of the fact that you managed to get a bootleg copy of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit'' and watched it over and over on a TV hidden in a shed. If you could get your chores done quickly, you could watch the movie there without being noticed. “Mingfei… have you ever seen ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ Do you like it?”
“What? Are you feverish?” He put one hand to your forehead. “Please try to focus! This is important! None of us can touch the network because we’re traceable. Except you!”
“Me?”
“Yes. You’re the only one of us with zero internet presence. You’ve never had so much as an email. Almost all the information on you is held by EVA and not even Kaguya can breach her system so you’re more likely to be able to log in and find some way to contact the College without getting caught, so we need you to stay safe. Got it?”
“Yes, Senpai. I understand.” You nod. Z’s warning to you in a dream seemed even more relevant now. He was protecting you by some form of mystic way, but the danger now was so great that even he had to warn you to be careful.
Mingfei stared at your deferential response in shock. “Are you sure you’re alright? I expected you to sneer at me.”
“It’s just… you remind me of someone else just now.” You whisper, you lower your eyes. “I’m sorry if I made trouble with you. I had to do it. I’m glad you’re okay. I’m glad everyone’s okay.”
Mingfei took a deep breath. “We’re all grateful for you too, MC. So don’t worry about anything. Senpai told the boss about what you did in the Trieste. He owes you twice now. There’s no way he’d rat you out in the reports. You’re fine with everyone, okay?”
“Even Zihang?”
“Zihang doesn’t take anything personal.”
There’s a stiff knock on a door beyond the closet. “Little Sakura! You’re needed on the floor!”
Mingfei turned around, his voice squeaking loudly. “Coming!” He turned back to you. “Okay, can you walk?”
He helped you up out of bed. You were wearing a thin nightgown and your feet were a bit wobbly but you could stand on your own.
“Good, Caesar prepped some clothes for you, but I suggest you stay down here for now. I have to go back to work.”
“Work?”
More knocking. “Little Sakura?”
“Why are they calling you that?” You whisper.
Lu Mingfei growled low. “Why is my life so terrible all the time? I don’t know!” He returned his eyes to you. “Stay here okay? The Boss will be back once his shift is over.”
He hurried out of the closet. You notice he’s wearing some sort of shiny loafers. The type worn without socks.
You hear a sliding door open and then shut and then the murmur of a television. Once you were sure everything was quiet, save the very muffled beat of music somewhere above the ceiling, you venture out.
You peer out from the closet into what looked like a bathroom with wood paneled walls and a tiled floor. Three barrels with metal bottoms were suspended over wood fired stoves. A shower was in one corner. The TV in the other corner was on, likely to mask any noise you might have made while you were unconscious. A woman was sitting behind a desk, speaking Japanese, dressed in smart business attire. It looked like a newsreel of the destruction of Chizuru -- the wrecked streets, the firetrucks and the body bags.
You start to think maybe you overdid things a bit. Your eyes scan over the date. You’ve been out cold for 3 whole days.
On top of the TV was a small comb that looked to be made of real ivory and adorned with a blue jeweled flower. Underneath was an envelope with your name on it. Inside the envelope was a note. “I hope the offer of lessons over sake still stands.”
You smile. Of course it did.
Hanging behind the TV was another cheongsam, this time, silver and blue with embroidery of flowers. There’s also fishnet stockings and a pair of blue heels. You take the dress off the rack and step into the shower. Once you were dressed you listened hard to the sounds outside the hall and heard footsteps.
Another knock. And there’s a shouted warning before the door slides open. A short old woman is holding a mop and walks by you as you press yourself to the wall. She’s pulling a pile of logs on a cart. Her ears are stuffed with earbuds and she’s so focused on her work that she walks right by you on the way to the rack where the wood for the stove is held.
Heart racing, you dash out the door.
Outside is a European style promenade, completely different decor, but with the same level of luxury. The floor was covered with golden teak wood. The walls were covered with paintings of naked young people drawing water from a well. The ceiling hung with crystal chandeliers, one after another.
“Wow.” You whisper.
At the end of the corridor was an elevator with wooden doors inlaid with swirling bronze motifs of ferns. You’re supposed to stay put, but so much for that! You probably couldn’t be seen out in the hall! You pressed the only button available on the elevator - Up - and school your face cool to pretend you belong there.
Already a story is in your head, you’re an heiress to a fabulous estate. You’re orphaned at a young age and just gained your freedom to escape your stuffy household! As the elevator rises, the sound of the bassline of the music gets stronger and stronger.
Your mind is still writing your backstory when the wooden doors part and you’re hit by the bass line full force. The heat from hundreds of bouncing and gyrating bodies rushes into the elevator. Right in front of you, a man is holding up a flute of that golden sparkling liquor - Champagne. His shirt has puffy sleeves and open to reveal dark curly hairs on his muscular chest. He’s surrounded by three women in colorful half masks who are climbing on him, grabbing his hands to get at the champagne. They were all wearing skin tight, sleeveless, low cut dresses and dangerously high stiletto heels that made your demure blue cheongsam look like a formal maid’s outfit in comparison.
“Ladies! Ladies! One at a time!” He’s shouting with a brilliant smile. One of the girls bares her teeth as if she were trying to bite him and you move away.
A crowd of people, women outnumbering men 10 to 1, were all dancing in front of a brightly lit stage that was smoking with dry-ice that poured over the edge.
The elevator doors start to close and you slip out, looking for Lu Mingfei - that is, Little Sakura. Everywhere is more of the same. There’s a circular couch where drunk women were reclining over another man while holding out money for passing waiters who seem to know what it meant. They took the cash from their delicate painted fingers and passed them another bottle of liquor in exchange. All of the women turned, shook and then uncorked the bottle, spraying the Champagne in the air! It all fell in a shower while they laughed and squealed with glee!
You take a breath. You were going to stand out like a sore thumb unless you did something right now. The beat of the music was jarring your rib cage but people were bouncing to it while shouting on the stage. “Ukyo! Ukyo! Ukyo!”
You had no idea what Ukyo meant so you do the same all the while looking for any sign of Mingfei in this scene and realizing he might not even be on this floor.
“Who wants glitter?!” Someone shouts next to you. A man with a bowl of silver glitter holds it up while people stuff money in his low cut shirt and press their hands into the bowl to turn around and smash it into the sweaty chest of another man, leaving their marks on him. Your mind makes a leap to a story you heard about human and animal sacrifices in Satanism and wondering if that was what was going to happen next.
You also realize you don’t have any money. Your voice is trained by terrible punishment to be quiet so you can only let out a weak little “Woo..” and “Yay… Ukyou” while your eyes search the crowd.
What happened next was that the music suddenly ended and the sound of a Asian music, something you might hear played in a period drama, replaced it. Rather than being subdued, the crowd flooded the quiet with screams so loud your ears rattled and you had to fight to keep your hands from covering them and stand out as an outsider.
The curtain opened and there stood a lone figure on the stage. The lights all went out, leaving a single spotlight descending to illuminate him. He’s in a white cloak with flowy sleeves, with a blue hakama and long hair that covers half his face. Cherry blossoms blow from an unseen fan, fluttering his sleeves in the wind.

My Grandfather’s Lawyer (pt. 2)
⁂ – Ushijima Wakatoshi x reader – ⁂
warning: nsfw, swearing
Summary: Your grandfather, Washijo Tanji, disowned your mother when she was pregnant with you and her hatred towards him was passed on to you. Now, your estranged grandfather wants you to leave your life in Tokyo and come live with him in his estate in the Miyagi Prefecture.
You took a day off and a 6-hour trip, intending to give him a piece of your mind before disappearing from their lives forever. You didn’t expect to see an ailing and fragile old man. Your day trip stretched into weeks and soon, you patched things up with your estranged family and warmed up to everyone -except to one: Ushijima Wakatoshi -your grandfather’s lawyer.
He thinks you have ulterior motives in reuniting with your grandfather.
You weren’t suppose to care what he thinks of you. His opinion didn’t matter.
But it did.
Part 1
AN: Part two every one!! Hope you enjoy this! :))
"Ji-ji."
Your cousins greeted in unison. You still have your back turned and you took your time composing yourself; taking a deep breath and steeling your resolve, then you turned around.
Your eyes widened for a fraction. On your way here, you wondered what your grandfather would look like. Your parents never showed you any pictures of him nor of your grandmother, but they said your grandmother died after giving birth to her last child -your mother. You pictured a stern-looking man with sharp eyes and tight-lipped.
But the old man before you was nothing close to what you had in mind. He was short, at least a head shorter than you are, he had bushy brows that hooded his wide eyes, and pouty lips.
"Oh, y/n, this is our grandf-"
"I think your cousin knows who I am, Kuroo-chan." Your grandfather cut him off.
The short exchange pulled you back from your daze and once again, you focused. It was at that moment when you noticed that another man stood behind him. He was tall, even taller than your cousins, with olive hair and eyes. You thought he was handsome, but he could've been your cousin so you tried not to focus on that. However, he doesn't resemble any of your relatives.
So, who is this giant that kept scowling at you? You felt your temper surge and shot him the same fierce look.
The man's brows met in a frown at your action.
Hah! That serves you right! You mentally smiled at the little victory.
"I thought you will remain stubborn and hard-headed like your mother." The old man spoke which caught your attention. "Good thing, you didn't inherit her traits."
"My mother was the most lovable person I knew, Washijo-san. Yes, she is stubborn and I'm proud of her for that. Had I been in her situation, I would've done the same thing."
The old man's eyes glistened as if tears formed in his eyes, but it was gone in a blink. You weren't sure if what you saw was real. But one thing's for sure, the man behind him now openly glared at you.
Beside you, your cousins' faces painted different expressions; Kuroo looked at you in awe while the twins were in shock (Atsumu) and worry (Osamu). Looks like they didn't expect you to talk that way to your grandfather. You shrugged your shoulders and faced the old man again with your chin up.
"I was wrong, you didn't only have your mother's face but her attitude as well." He remarked. "But if you are to live here you will need to cha-"
"I don't plan on staying here. Now that I have my so-called relatives, I want to tell you my goodbye. So please never, ever bother me again." You turned to Kuroo so you could ask him to drop you off at the train station but it seemed he read what you had in mind.
"I gotta go, I have paperworks to finish." He announced. "See you later, Ji-ji, my cousins, and Ushiwaka-san." And with that, he disappeared.
You stared at his retreating figure, dumbfounded and rooted to your spot. What happened to having my back, you rooster-haired man!
"Quit being stubborn and listen to your grandfather."
You whipped your head back and realized that it was the tall man that spoke. His deep voice resonating in your ears. But who was he to tell you what you should and shouldn't do?
"Excuse me?" You raised a brow. "But who do you think you are?"
"He is the family lawyer, my dear y/n. Ushijima Wakatoshi, this is y/n, my youngest's child."
Not nice to meet you. You thought and you were sure he was thinking the same as well, judging by his scowl.
"It's getting late, y/n, if you want to leave that bad then you can do so tomorrow." The old man cautioned. "I will have Ushiwaka-san drop you off at your house."
"No need, I can just take the train."
"Don't rob an old man of the assurance that his grandchild will get home safe."
You felt a painful tug at your heartstrings. Your grandfather's voice was soft but it held unspoken affection. You studied him carefully. Was he the man that your mother thought him to be? He seemed so different from the stories she told you.
"Ushiwaka-san, please show y/n their room. I will retire for a while."
He didn't even wait for your reaction, the old man turned abruptly, leaving the two of you -you didn't know when the twins had gone off- alone.
"You'll keep hurting your grandfather if you don't quit being so headstrong."
"Does your job as his lawyer include meddling with his personal life?"
"I'll have you know that I'm not just his lawyer, I am also his friend."
"Of course he has your loyalty. He pays you." You taunted and that seemed to strike a nerve. "Are you going to show me my room, or what?"
Ushijima Wakatoshi stared at you intently for a good ten seconds before looking away. You smiled in triumph as you followed him around the house.
He led you towards the engawa that faced a garden and stopped in front of a shut shoji. You subtly admired the delicately detailed sliding panel. The wooden frames had sakura bloom carved in them.
Wordlessly, he slid it open and ushered you in. You stepped inside and looking over your shoulder, you said, "Good day, Ushijima-san. Please close the door when you leave."
You flinched when the shoji banged shut. It seems that the olive-eyed lawyer isn't used to people like you. Well, it wasn't your fault if you weren't as subdued as the people he's usually with.
Your irritation vanished when you took in the beauty of your room. It was spacious and airy. A flat-screen tv -smart tv, you guessed- was mounted on the left side of the wall. On the opposite, a small round table took up space, a tea set rested on it. At the back, a magnificently painted byobu hid the bathroom entrance. The painted image on the folding screen was of two geisha performing a tea ceremony.
You approached the futon and plopped down, feeling the soft and smooth silk. You wouldn't want to stain the blankets and pillows with today's dirt but you didn't bring extra clothes. You weren't expecting to stay the night. If things went your way, you would've been on the train back to Tokyo.
You eyed the built-in cabinet at far-end of the room, hoping it would at least have some sort of clothes you can change into. Luck was on your side because as soon as you opened it, a pile of plain yukata greeted your sight. You didn't bother yourself if you could wear it or not, you just wanted to change into something clean.
It was all your grandfather's fault anyway if he had just sent you off-
You paused, suddenly realizing how much you blame everything on the old man. The sight of his aging face flashed in your mind but you shook your head. No, it's all his fault. If he weren't so selfish, if he helped them back then, you would still be with your parents.
"y/n-san, are you inside?"
A voice called outside which pulled you from your thoughts. Your brows furrowed at the feminine voice. Who could that be? You wondered as you strode towards the sliding doors.
"Sorry for disturbing you, y/n-san but Ushiwaka-san asked me to give you this." A middle-aged woman stood before you. Her kind eyes met yours.
"Ah, thank you..." You scrambled to get the tray of food from her grasp.
"My name is Saki, I am the cook of the Washijo household." She introduced herself. "If there is anything you would like to eat, please feel free to tell me."
"Sure, thanks Saki-san."
When the woman left, you were left with your grumbling stomach. Right, you haven't eaten anything since you got off the train this afternoon. Your shower can wait, your hunger cannot.
"Itadakimasu." You mumbled to yourself and dug in.

Panel 1:
*Evangeline is coming back from class, closes door to the dorm room quietly with a relieved sigh. Moves to take off shoes but stops when she sees a pair haphazardly thrown on the floor. She blinks; Didn’t Sakura have practice then? Impulsively rearranges the shoes to be placed neatly beside her own, then moves deeper into the apartment-style dorm*
Evangeline: Sakura?
*Brief bought of silence before a groan breaks the quiet. Evangeline moves to find the source of the sound, follows it into the living room. Another helps her pinpoint its origin: the small couch that sits in front of a tv and coffee table. Sakura’s in it, almost thrown across it haphazardly, long limbs strewn out and over the arm rest and edges.
Evangeline walks closer, peering over the back to look at the larger girl with raised eyebrows. Sakura barely moves at the sound of her name, but turns her head to show she heard Evangeline. Eva can only just make out a small smile forming from where she stands.*
Sakura: *voice rough and scratchy* Hey, Evie.
Evangeline: *Mouth twitches into a smile at the sound of her nickname* Hello, Sakura. *Begins to frown, places hand on the back of the couch to peer closer* I didn’t expect you to be here. Did your practice end early?
Sakura: *Shakes head before moving to sit up, slowly. Grunts and rubs a hand against her forehead with a grimace poorly hidden behind a grin.* Nah. I went but ah... coach wouldn’t lemme stay. Said I had ta crash for a while.
Evangeline: *Brows furrow in concern, watches as Sakura stands. She sways as she does, and blearily moves toward the kitchen. Evangeline quietly tails behind.* What’s wrong? Are you sick?
Sakura: Ah, well I-- *Abruptly stops to grab the counter for balance. Shakes head before turning toward Evangeline with the same grimace-grin from before.* I... It ain’t nothin’ ta worry about. Just a ‘lil tired n’ achey.
Evangeline: *stares hard at Sakura for a long moment of silence, watches as the larger girl fumbles for the cabinet and misses the cup she grabs for on the first couple tries. Takes a step forward after the cup is safely placed on the counter, a tilt to her head and a hand to her chest.* Let me look at you.
Sakura: *blinks in surprise before shaking her head, back still mostly toward Evangeline. Clumsily waves a hand.* Evie, I swear I’m--
Evangeline: Please?
Sakura: *clamps her mouth shut and stares over her shoulder at Evangeline for a long moment. Evangeline stays quiet, only tilts her head further and allows a small pout. Sakura blinks before hoarsely giggling.* Aw c’mon Evie that ain’t fair.
*Ultimately gives up her quest for a drink, turns around to fully face Evangeline. Grin is no longer a grimace, far more crooked and genuine now.*
*Evangeline blushes a little with a tiny shrug; she almost never pouts. Still, she moves closer toward Sakura, whatever hint of a smile she might’ve had gone in the wake of her worry. Stops when right in front of Sakura and wastes no time lifting a hand to the taller girl’s head. Her fingers flits affectionately across the long, wild bangs before brushing them aside, turning her hand to run her knuckles against Sakura’s forehead*
*Sakura sighs and leans her head into Evangeline’s touch, brings a trembling hand up to rest on the other’s arm; Eva’s too distracted by how warm the taller girl feels to be flustered. Instead she frowns up at her.*
Evangeline: You are sick; you’re running a high fever. Did this start at practice?
Sakura: Ah... well ah, no... A little before that.
Evangeline: *Brows furrow deeper as she looks up at Sakura.* How much before that?
Sakura: *nervously glances around, not looking at Evangeline. Sees her frown deepen from the corner of her eye and gives a nervous laugh*
Evangeline: Is this why you couldn’t focus through class all week? *watches Sakura rub the back of her neck sheepishly, narrows her eyes* Sakura.
Sakura: Ahaha... um. Oops?
Evangeline: *keeps gaze stern for as long as she can before it melts away at Sakura’s smile. Huffs and pulls away, carefully nudging her toward the couch* Go lie down, I’ll get your drink and make dinner tonight. You will be taking medication afterward.
Sakura: *reluctantly nods along and moves to obey, but stop when she realizes something.* Hey! It’s my turn to make dinner tonight though. Was gonna make hamburgers!
Evangeline: No hamburgers, no cooking. Go sit. I can manage well enough to make you something less... *wrinkles nose* … greasy. You need to eat better anyway.
Sakura: *pouts but goes to the living room anyway. Flops down carelessly onto the couch and throws her head back against the armrest whining childishly* The grease’s the best part though.
Evangeline: *comes over with a glass of iced water, sets it down on the coffee table. Rolls her eyes at Sakura as she sits back up* You’re impossible.
Sakura: *lopsided grin comes back, peaks one dazed eye open at Evangeline.* Yeah, but ya love me anyway.
*Evangeline only scoffs and hurries her way back to the kitchen. Sakura doesn’t notice the bright red flushing the other girl’s cheeks.*
------------------------------------------------------
Panels 2-5:
*Occurs a while after dinner. Sakura lounges against the armrest of the tiny couch, eyes closed and jittering breathing slow. She can’t keep them open for too long without them falling shut again; the medicine’s finally starting to kick in and is making her too drowsy to do much else. Instead she listens contently to the silent rustle of textbook pages turning and the quiet humming from Evangeline, who sat directly across from her on the couch they shared.*
Sakura: *without lifting her head, slurring her words a little.* M’gonna fall asleep..
Evangeline: *Stops reading her notes to glance over and smiles at Sakura’s attempt to keep awake, head bobbing a little.* Good. You need your rest. *returns her focus back to her homework*
Sakura: *shakes head to try and clear her exhaustion with no luck. Gives up a moment later and just cranes her head back completely, blows air out of her nose in a sigh.* Don’ gotta stay with me... is’late. *Blearily looks over at wall-mounted clock and squints at the numbers.* Oof. Very late. Sorry.
Evangeline: Whatever for?
Sakura: …for keepin’ ya up, bein’ a bother. Hadta take care’a me n’stuff; kept ya from homework.
Evangeline: You couldn’t make me do anything I don’t want to. Homework isn’t so important I’d ignore you in your state either. Besides... *hunches shoulders a little and slows her writing, a small blush warming her face. She keeps talking, quieter this time.* ...you’re never a bother. I enjoy spending time with you.... even if you’re sick.
*Sakura doesn’t say anything, but peaks one eye open to stare at Evangeline quietly, dizzily. She takes in the state of her roommate: hair down and out of its usual up-tied bun, no makeup, body slumped out of its usual rigidness in a far more relaxed lean. Never seen Evangeline look so comfortable before. Sakura hums thoughtfully as she continues to stare.*
Evangeline: *turns to look at Sakura at the sound of the hum, a little surprised to see her staring at her. For all her dizziness the larger girl’s stare is focus-sharp, darting all across her features before settling to look directly into her eyes. Evangeline’s blush deepens a little and she shyly brushes her hair against her neck, smile forming.*
Evangeline: ...What?
Sakura: *blinks sleepily before a lazy smile curls her lips* ...ya jus’ so pretty.
Evangeline: *Eyebrows shoot up and she startles at the compliment, face burning hot when a bright red flush settles into her face and the tips of her ears* W-what?
*Sakura yawns before sitting up, wobbly, and reaches out to Evangeline without bothering to open her eyes again. Her hand brushes hair behind warmed ears before it slides further back to touch at a shoulder*
Sakura: I like spendin’ time with you too.
*Pulls Evangeline to her and doesn’t hear the squeak it causes through her sleep-clogged ears. Unthinkingly runs her fingers through Evangeline’s hair, nails scratching clumsy at the base of her neck. Presses an affectionate kiss to the crown of Evangeline’s head*
Sakura: Gracias, Evie. Don’ stay up for me though, ‘k?
*Evangeline barely processes what Sakura says. Shivers run down her spine before they bounce back and tingle into her fingertips. She feels heat like flames lick at her heart, behind her eyes, before she feels magic race through her veins, shocking like electricity. All of it draws down her arm and into the blue ring she never takes off, but she feels the metal heating in a way it never does before she feels more than sees it sparking. She hears the crack the same time she hears the sound a loud popping noise, the same time she gasps and claws the hand she used to brace herself on Sakura’s thigh in terror, before she feels her magic arcing through and off her skin in short, erratic bolts akin to lightning.
For a scant brief moment she’s the only source of light in the newfound darkness of the dorm, then she jerks away from Sakura and staggers clumsily off the couch. Fearful eyes land on Sakura, but the larger girl scarcely notices anything, humming quietly in a sleepy manner before she blinks her eyes open and glances around.
She sounds almost drunk when she grunts “power outage??” before she finally slips fully into sleep, none the wiser to the trembling girl standing a few feet away.
------------------------------------------------------
Panel 6:
Amidst her panic, Evangeline has enough mind to be thankful that Sakura’s too out-of-it to notice her, and she rushes out the front door of the dorm. She almost slams it shut behind her and gasps raggedly into the cool night air, sliding down the length of the door as tears begin burning down her face. She jerks when she feels magic crackling at her fingertips and grabs hold of her left wrist hard, staring down at the ring adorning her finger. Its metal is cracked, splintering down the middle in a similar pattern to the lightning of her magic, and sparks jump from the edges sporadically.
Another quick burst of magic arks off her skin and lance against the ring, and she has to yank it off when she feels its metal burn too hotly. Desperately she presses the heels of her palms against her eyes, trying to count down and even out her breathing.
‘Calm down. Don’t feel. Breath. Make it stop. Don’t feel, calm down, make it stop. Breathe.’
She feels the rush of heat abate, feels her pulse slowing the same time her breathing begins to. She moves a hand away to chance a glance at it. For a moment, nothing, but right before she can begin to relax she feels the crackle of energy in her blood, and watches as another arc of lightning ripples from her palm and into the air, down her arm. She begins huffing again, fighting against the tears still falling as she flexes her hand.
‘C’mon, BREATHE! Breath, calm down. Control yourself, make it stop. Make it stop. Make it stop make it stop make it stop why won’t it stop?’
She sits there for what feels like hours, and when the magic finally stops, she is too exhausted to even cry anymore. Evangeline doesn’t bother to move, staring out blankly to the night sky, a dry sob heaving in her chest. She thinks about her mother, what she might say upon discovering her... episode. She thinks about the ruined ring now sitting off and away from hey, still sputtering the occasional spark of electricity. She thinks about Sakura, of her familiar crooked grin and her crushing hugs. Her mind snapshots back to the hour before, and she can still feel the buzzing promise of magic beneath her skin, spent but never gone, uncontrollable.
Evangeline turns her head and cries quietly.
‘What am I going to do?’
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOI did this take me a while! Comin' back at ya'll with another post for Feathers and Flowers!SSince I barely did anything that focused mostly on Evangeline I figured this was a good time to do so, with some bonus Sakura x Evangeline interactions! If you’re curious, they ain’t romantically involved, but Eva’s crush is really showing here. Sakura remains as oblivious as ever. o3o
The short story this time was written in such a way because I didn't feel like writing in the traditional format. It would have taken me a little longer just so I could edit it and revise it to be more presentable, so this time ya'll get it in a more script-like format! I'll prob still go back in and tweak things here and there but I'm overall happy with it. uwu
NOW THEN! Some context to go with the story:
-This takes place a little after the whole gang have at least met and have befriended one another to some extent.
-Evangeline is a witch!
Witches in the FnF universe are mortals with magical abilities like that of Spirits. Unlike Spirits however, Witches typically only have one Tether (most often an element or an animal, never a biome), and their magic is generally much weaker than that of a Spirit’s. Their magic is often very closely tied to what they're feeling, and while a witch can learn to control their magic, it isn't uncommon for said magic to manifest on instinct or in instances of overwhelming emotion.
-Evangeline's magic is a subset to Fire: Electricity. It's one of the more rarest of elements seen in humans, and given its extremely volatile nature it's far more susceptible to reacting to the witch's emotions. Due to it being so rare, humans generally don't have a clue over how to fully control it, so it's more common for a Witch with electricity magic to get a suppressing conduit, often in the form of jewelry. Evangeline's comes in that of a copper, rubber-lined blue ring, which attracts her magic whenever it activates to the metal before the rubber nullifies it.
-Despite how common it is for a Witch with volatile magic to have a suppressant, it's still encouraged for the Witch to try to learn ways in controlling their magic. Evangeline never got this; a lot of her learning how to "control" her magic was to suppress it further, to never use it, which is unhealthy for a Witch. It'll eventually get to the point where the magic will, essentially, burst out and in uncontrolled, unpredictable spurts of magic, and no amount of suppressing will keep it under wraps. This is exactly what happens to Evangeline, when she becomes so overwhelmed by Sakura's show of affection that she both overloads her ring and causes a power outage in their dorm.
-I'd imagine Evangeline is terrified by what'll happen if she loses control over her magic, specifically of her capacity to hurt someone on accident. She doesn't know (was never taught) that a Witch's magic can't actively harm anyone unless the witch intends it. This idea might be scrapped, but I like it enough to present it to ya'll.
Aaaand I think that’s all I have to say for now! If you’re curious about the characters and the world they live in, just visit the Feathers and Flowers tag, of which I’ll link below! In the meantime I hope you enjoy the writing and the artwork, and thank you for taking a looksie! ^.^

Hi Sueske! I'm sorry but this is just a frustrated rant. Feel free to kick me through the screen.
I wonder how can anyone ever look at Naruto and Sasuke and think they were as straight as an arrow? Naruto has to be prompted to notice girls because his head is too full with Sasuke-related thoughts and Sasuke never ever indicates he has a genuine intrigue nor interest in girls (and boys, really, that isn't Naruto). Naruto and Sasuke have a mutual interest in each other that goes beyond simple friendship and even if it's platonic (somehow people often sees platonic relationships as less than romantic ones) their bond is way, waaaaayyy deeper than the Mariana Trench that cherry girl and the white eyed 'princess' have a minus hundred chance of ever getting in with either of the two. There's just no space left.
It's just how they are and Kishimoto are consistent with his portrayal of them. Yes, even in chap 699 and 700 because while Sakura did get that Forehead Poke™, I see it as Sasuke seeing his younger self wanting to be close to Itachi and so he responded to her 'yet another romantic advances' with the poke, like... implying that Sasuke sees her as childish. It's... does anyone truly want their significant other to see them as childish? The same level of childishness as your own eleven-year-old daughter who you named 'salad' (who did get a hug and a poke because she was making a face and Sasuke wasn't cold hearted to ignore what was in front of him)?
Chapter 699 ended with both Naruto and Sasuke in the panel while chapter 700? Brazenly never showed NH and SS together, not even a single panel. Hehe bravo Kishimoto.
Gaiden portrays NH as existing with one kid (the white eyed princess' daughter didn't show up so she could just be a chap 700's white eyed princess' hallucination) and no panel with them together and SS was massively doubted to even exist and panels with them existing together can be counted with two hands and still will feel like what they have is just a very basic level of relationship between comrades (that don't necessarily like each other), showcasing Kishimoto's whole new level of cunning and pettiness.
While Boruto the movie... I have no words (and my memory of that movie only consists of Naruto and Sasuke moments). Maybe a few NH interactions that, yet again, had no intrigue nor depth and SS... I don't want to go there because there is nothing to go to.
Honestly anyone who watched Boruto the movie and still raved about their 'canon ships' (read: NH and SS) is scraping off their nails againt a brick of wall. It's painful to watch.
If they want a Male Friendship they can have Chouji and Shikamaru. Gai and Kakashi too.
helloooo
Homophobia… ignorance… stupidity… choose ur fighter. There’s no way u can objectively look at the story and think ss and nh are good relationships, even reciprocated relationships, when Naruto (the story) might as well have been called Naruto and Sasuke.
I agree that strong platonic relationships do exist. But Kishimoto portrayed sns’ relationship with tension, romantic tropes, desperation, devotion – that’s how he wanted it to be shown. Generally speaking (cuz I know not everyone does this obviously) but some ppl just acknowledge that ss and nh are crap but simultaneously don’t want to admit sns are gay… so they just say sns are platonic.
I always saw the forehead poke as a jibe from Kishimoto, like ‘hey u wanna have ss be endgame then I’ll make Sasuke do the BROTHERLY forehead poke, one that was used by Sasuke’s brother to keep him at a distance.’ Pink girl doesn’t know what it means and what it stands for, I’m sure she was just happy Sasuke talked to her and touched her.
I can’t even be bothered with Hinata… is she going to keep knitting forever

It’s so funny how you keep bringing up how disgusted sasuke and naruto were after the kiss but remember when sasuke was dying in the zabuza haku arc and in his dying moments he thought of the kiss he had with naruto and smiled?? When he was dying back then he was only thinking about naruto and itachi, didn’t even think about or care for Sakura or even mention/ remember her in his memories even though he thought he was dying. So the point about them being “disgusted” doesn’t prove anything.
This is so thoroughly pathetic. No Anon, the point about them being disgusted proves everything. I don't even know why you put disgusted in quotation marks, as if that wasn’t what actually happened. The fact is, they were both utterly disgusted by that accidental kiss, and I’m not sorry that this apparently hurts you so much that you need to desperately reach to such embarrassing lengths like the gibberish you said above, just to try and find something, anything to make yourself feel better about the truth.
You say Sasuke was smiling when he was having those flashbacks on the bridge against Haku? Show me where:
Where is the smile? It’s not here, nor is it in the next few panels.
You say Sasuke didn't think or remember Sakura at all in his memories? Then what do you see towards the bottom right in the panel above? Because I see thoughts about Sakura. Seriously, you people just see what you want to see. You just imagine Sasuke smiling, you just block out his memories of Sakura, and most of all, you just create these feeling's of romantic love between Naruto and Sasuke, lol. It’s remarkable in the worst way.
Here’s another nail in the SNS coffin, just because I can...
Naruto was again reminded of the accidental kiss by Kurama, and it caused Naruto to full on gag, because he was still so utterly disgusted by that memory. Yeah, Naruto and Sasuke are just so gay for each other aren’t they? I mean, the precious memory of touching lips with your one true love would obviously cause anyone to fucking gag wouldn't it? That’s a sign of real romantic love right there.

1. In Regards to the asks you got about Sakura power up & her words of being mocked by some for saying she caught up to naruto's Tail beast mode and sasukes ems mode with her seal. I think the biggest problem was that we didn't get enough show don't tell as during each of the battles against the ten tails, obito, madara and Kaguya. Since she only does one punch & uses one medical jutsu in each of those fights compared to Naruto and sasuke who get alot more panel time fighting and using new jutsu
2. Making her skill set look very limited in comparison to theirs and that she can only punch bigger with medic ninjutsu. It also probably didn't help that during chapter 632 when she got the seal and said she finally caught up to them she let her guard down and got saved by both naruto and sasuke saved her from two giant ten tailed clones, hence I still see Youtubers like King of Lighting who talk about power scaling laughing when ever they see that panel saying she caught up to them.
3. There is also the shipping aspect when it looks like Sakura is blushing when sasuke saves her alongside naruto & she says sasuke-kun and later when she attacks madara & gets saved by naruto she thinks how sasuke doesn't care about her safety. So you get people like Forneverworld ranting at her. Another problem I see is at that point due to the lack of remaining enemies left during the final battles of the war we don't get the chance to see her in an individual fight to show her skills off
4. Granted this problem could of been sorted if Kishimoto had her awaken the seal earlier during the war when the edo tensei ninja were around with their being some opponents that would of been perfect to fight against or had take part in ether the off screen fights against spiral zetsu helping the allied shinobi forces maybe being the factor of how they win that fight or saving Yamato, maybe even team up with Karin or perhaps help Kakashi against black zetsu when he is controlling Obito's body.
5. Though of course the most obvious solution would of been to have her take more part in Naruto & Sasuke battles against Obito, Madara and Kaguya. Since besides senjutsu taijutsu is suppose to work against them, though I feel she could of worked with jugo's transfer sage transformation somehow with transferring it with medic ninjutsu somehow maybe even to the entire shinobi alliance. She should least taken on obito more since she is the rin parallel in team 7 which Obtio should of noticed.
6. Though for we know kishimoto could of planned anything I have suggested, but the editors said no due to their anti sakura campaign. Though regardless Kishimoto should of stuck for Sakura and put more effort for when she finally got her power up and showed that she surpassed tsunade rather than telling it. (p.s sorry this became long than I thought it be, I would of submitted it in a long post rather than 6 ask if I had the option) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lol, it’s okay.
And while I do agree with you on some of the accounts you said, we also have to look at this a bit more objectively.
The problem with that is Kishimoto’s execution, yes. He didn’t properly execute the portrayal of Sakura catching up with KCM Naruto & EMS Sasuke.
It’s not that IN YOUR FACE.
But then again if we take a bit our hating Sakrua goggles off and start analyzing the feats a bit they fit.
Have both Fornerworld and the other guy talked about how Sakura was left untouched when she was impaled with Madara’s rod?
Do people even remember what happens to someone when they get hit by it? Yet Sakura’s healing capabilities are so great that she’s left with a wound she heals immediately.
Do people not realize that she can be cut in half and survive?
I think the problem is that her jutsu it’s not that flashy as compared to the ones Naruto and Sasuke have, so people undermine her based on that.
Granted though, Kishimoto’s execution is at fault here. In her case, he was tell don’t show, and that’s the reason people act the way they do.

Long Lost to the Present
This is Part One of my gift for the Naruto/Boruto exchange! Part Two is about half done, I just wanted to get the bulk out before our deadline. Happy Holidays! @whynoteswhispered
Sasuke mentally checked through his belongings a final time before letting out a small sigh, his mother had been tight lipped about where exactly they would be taking their winter family vacation so if he needed anything, he would just buy it. Truthfully, he was prepared for pretty much any weather they would encounter over the two weeks. The youngest Uchiha zipped the suitcase and set it on the ground, clicking the button to release the handle and grabbing his backpack with his laptop and other electronics to swing over one shoulder. A final glance determined Sasuke had everything he would need and with a barely contained sigh, he made his way down stairs where everyone would meet before loading up and leaving.
"Sasuke! Are you ready dear?" Mikoto asked, passing off her luggage to her husband. "Oh, I can't wait till we get there!"
"I'm ready." Sasuke nodded to his father and brother, taking his turn to load his suitcase into the SUV they rented. "Now if only you would tell us where we are going…"
“So, I was talking with Kushina," dread settled instantly into his stomach at the mention of the redhead, "and we agreed that it has been sometime since we last shared a holiday together and we will be spending our first week with them at Jiraiya’s house in the mountains then continue to our cabin for the other week."
"It has been a while since we’ve seen Minato and Kushina… I wonder if she ever got better at cooking." Fugaku said gruffly, a tiny sliver of humor shone through that statement.
"Hopefully we can see Naruto too, no one is sure what he’s been up to these days." Itachi chimed in, staring none too discreetly at Sasuke.
That statement didn't seem like the Naruto Sasuke knew and for a moment he had to remind himself that they had parted ways years ago. While the blond always said Sasuke was his best friend, the raven was unsure until he changed schools what exactly Naruto meant to him. That first year apart had been hell, every time a notification came through or a phone would ring set him on edge so badly, he withdrew into nothing but music only from his iPod.
"I wouldn't have the slightest idea."
"Ah, that's right." Itachi words caused the younger's feathers to ruffle but before the boy could engage in their passive aggressive argument their mother stepped between them.
"Seven days boys, I do hope I will be bringing home two sons and not leaving any to be adopted by the Namikazes." The warning was very real under her cheerful tone and both of her children backed down, following her and their father out to the car.
Sasuke was dreading this trip now, his dread easily outweighed any excitement he had previously. What was supposed to be a simple holiday trip with his family, including his ever-busy father, was now turning into a nightmare from hell. The raven was sure his elder brother had to have some hand in it. The first family trip in a handful of years and now Sasuke would have to suffer the distracting presence of one Naruto Uzumaki or risk upsetting his mother.
"You don't look excited like I thought you would…" Itachi spoke casually, face showing nothing of his amusement unless you knew how to find the slight look in his eyes.
"What am I supposed to be excited for exactly?”
“Aw, you’re hurting his feelings and we haven’t even left yet. How cruel little brother.”
“Itachi, be nice! Sasuke is finally home and I know while he loves me,” Mikoto smiled brightly and pulled her younger son into a hug, “you being mean is exactly why we cut this from two weeks to just one.”
Sasuke lingered in a half hug from his mother, a feeling of warmth that always accompanied the action sank into his tense form and relaxed the harsh lines. Identical eyes locked into a staring contest for a long moment before their father snorted and drew their attention.
"The drive is a long one, if you can't handle it then you can stay and keep the office in order." He advised, making his point with a glare before entering the car.
"Truce little brother?"
"Hn." This ride was going to be a long one indeed.
The weather seemed suspended, the snow twinkling as the sun was reflected off it and the air mild for this time of year in the mountains. Sasuke tried to remember if he had ever been to Jiraiya’s cabin before but was coming up with nothing but bits of when Naruto had shared his summer adventures.
"Sasuke! How was your summer? I bet it wasn't cooler than mine! Peavy sage and I found this pond and there's these Sakura trees and in the water there's a bunch of tadpoles! We had to keep cleaning out the petals, I feel like my back has aged twenty years."
He had to rouse himself from memory lane as they pulled up the long drive. The logs were well kept and the cabin seemed quite spacious, hopefully it would be easier to avoid a certain blond. There were various trees in bloom or dormancy, nothing like the well-kept grounds of the Uchiha main house. Sasuke could certainly see the frog motif with the at times gaudy decor and after hearing stories for years, it wasn't as bad as he was expecting.
"Looks like he did get a key after all." Itachi mused quietly, almost quiet enough for his younger brother to miss it. At the look of inquiry, he continued lightly, "Jiraiya has been having some… Extra responsibilities as of late and wasn't sure he would be here when we arrived. The good news is the house has been cleaned and aired out for us already."
"Do you remember which room is yours Sasuke?"
"It's the one to the left of the gar-" he had to pause, that was Naruto's usual room and he no longer was welcome to share like they had always planned. The silence was heavy for a moment, never had Sasuke wished things had turned out differently more than at that particular moment. "No, I do not."
"It's next to mine, we have a wonderful view of the mountains." Itachi offered, placing a hand on his shoulder and giving a light squeeze for reassurance.
"I'm fine." The younger shook off the hand and climbed out of the car, pulling his phone out as an excuse to ignore his family.
The sliding door opened, the wooden panels that made up the shade clattering angrily. A large box made its way out first then the blond holding it, carefully stepping out to the deck and nearly dropping the box with a curse. With a deep all body sigh, Naruto stood up straight and raised his face to the sun, the natural light highlighting his figure. Sasuke stated for a long moment, trying to blend the young gangly knucklehead he remembered with this adult version complete with an attractive solid build.
"Oh my, is that really my little sunflower?! Naruto, I did not give you permission to grow up without me!" Mikoto called out, leaving Fugaku to grab the bags as she hurried to the deck. Blue eyes found once familiar black orbs first before breaking their gaze and a shy smile breaking out on the tanned face.
"Ah well ya know sunflowers are, just sprout up when no one's watching." Naruto accepted the hug stiffly until she whispered in his ear that caused him to melt into the long hug.
"Keep that in mind or I will negotiate with your mother on swapping you for Sasuke."
"Aha, not the best idea Mrs. Uchiha." A long look complete with a delicate eyebrow raise had the blond sputtering with a red face. "Fine fine, I'm sorry Mimi. Please don't look at me like that." And he still pouted the same and no it wasn't cute.
"Like what sunflower?" Her tone was playful and the quick fingers to slide through his golden mop were painfully familiar.
"Mother, we've been here less than ten minutes and you're already terrorizing the poor boy."
"Oi! I am a man now, I know Teme takes after the beauty in the family but if he can pass for a man then you shouldn't have any issues seeing I am too."
"I'm not the Uchiha that likes to check you out when you're not looking." Itachi commented as he passed Naruto, leaving him blushing and splattering again.
"Naruto." The reaction was instant, gone was the blush and sputtering, spine perfectly straight complete with a respectful but curious gaze. It was rare that the eldest Uchiha addressed the blond and it had been forever since Naruto had been comfortable around the dark-haired family. "I do hope you are not causing your parents trouble."
"Of course not, I did manage to grow up in my time away. Hurt like hell to leave for almost three years and have only Jiraiya as company but it was worth all the long phone calls from ma." Yet another mystery and by the look in the azure eyes, a big piece to explain the inner calm where there used to be boundless energy.
"I forgot to ask, did Kushina get the recipe I sent her?"
"I think so but you'll have to ask her Mimi. They got delayed helping granny with her uh situation."
"Same rooms as last time?"
"Yup, I think the only one that doesn't have the sheets put on is Teme's. I can do that real quick if you want?" The question was directed at Sasuke but Naruto's gaze was looking somewhere over his shoulder before returning to his father. He was expecting things to be awkward but not painful like this.
"I'm sure Sasuke can manage, don't let us keep from whatever it was you were doing son."
"Ah, cleaning up everything, I knew I would need to get here a few days early but I didn't know it was this bad. Steer clear of the kitchen for now, there's a lot of manuscripts lying about and I haven't had time to clean it yet. I figured the rooms were the priority since you always go for a family dinner first thing." Naruto smiled brightly before stepping through a different door that led outside. It made Sasuke recall another memory where the blond had gushed about the house.
"Oh my God, why do I always get lost?"
"Maybe because you're a Dobe?"
"Shut it Teme! I spent all summer with Peavy Sage and like his house has more doors than walls I swear! He says it's because he doesn't want to break his creative pacing so he likes having tons of options to get out of the house."
"Sounds like more options to break into the house."
"Oi! Shut up you're such a bastard."
"You know my father."
"Ugh, add prissy to the list too."
Suddenly it felt like he didn't belong here and the young photographer couldn't stay a moment longer. Leaving his luggage halfway to the door and taking only his back pack he left to the woods. Pulling on every memory he had of Naruto describing the surrounding foliage, Sasuke actually found the waterfall that fed the lake the hyper boy always spoke of. The waterfall was loud in a soothing way, the water pure and clear in a way that couldn't be found anywhere but in nature. Lush green grass filled out the banks that lined the sides of the small lake and the pine trees slightly weighed with the melting snow. This place brought peace to Sasuke's troubled mind and immediately pulled at his artistic brain. Even though he had to keep the photos for his private portfolio, this beauty didn't deserve to be disturbed without reason.
With a smooth but careful move, Sasuke slipped his arm through the strap and unzipped his pack. From the top he retrieved his camera case and withdrew his camera. Quickly the raven secured the strap around his neck and zipped up his backpack. Checking the settings and with a few test shots, the photographer was fully in control as he captured the serene surroundings. As always, Sasuke lost himself in the beauty around him and it took spotting a sliver of blond hair to break him free. Pretending to check the photo he had taken, the young photographer carefully aimed and zoomed in on the blond. The picture Naruto made took away Sasuke’s breath as he clicked the shutter button.
“Don’t you know it’s rude to stare Dobe?”
“Hey I’m not the one who left his luggage for everyone else to take care of or ran out of the house instead of going out to dinner.”
“Are you going?” His voice was neutral, a complete contrast to his inner feelings. On one hand, the raven had no idea how close the blond was with the family anymore and yet it was both disappointing and relieving if the Uzumaki were to join the Uchiha dinner.
“I can’t, Pervy Sage needs my help. I might not be here when you guys get back so the spare key is-”
“‘Under the ‘speak no evil’ toad by the huge ass sliding door’ I remember.” Dutifully Sasuke kept checking his camera and carefully packing it away while ignoring the piercing blue eyes.
“Uh yeah… Cool. I’ll uh be back later. Uh if you, I mean my memory isn’t as good as yours but yanno if you and Mimi still like super spicy curry there’s a place about twenty minutes out. It’s a little hole in the wall but authentic and good portions. Don’t stay out much longer and freeze your heart any more than it is Teme.”
Left alone by the waterfall, he finally packed everything up properly and followed the footprints back, thankful the snow hadn’t melted yet. If only the same could be said about his heart, seeing the blond should not throw his emotions back in time when Sasuke wanted nothing more than to cross lines that they never would. Thankfully he only had a week, right? Maybe then he could finally let go.
Naruto was trying his hardest to not just steal the car keys and drive far far away from Tsunade as the gas tank would allow. He was already exhausted mentally due to seeing Sasuke and boy was he a sight to see. The youngest Uchiha had always favored his mother’s looks and his father in personality, after all this time though Sasuke just seemed like so much more somehow and the blond was really trying to keep his heart in his chest this time. At the very least it was only for maybe a week so he could play it safe and be fine! Totally. As if he didn’t have a hard enough time the last time, denial really suited him then and now. Absently the blond wondered where they went for dinner.
"Fine! As if I care, I'll go just to shut you up and then I can drink in peace!" Tsunade announced loudly as she emerged from her front door.
"Oi granny, tis the season and all that but we need to get a move on so I can finish cleaning the house for the Uchihas."
"Oh, is that why you really broke up with your boyfriend? I didn't know you were talking to the Uchiha brat again." Fucking hell, Naruto hoped she would be able to control her mouth when they were actually around Sasuke's family or this would be a very bad vacation.
"I'm not the one who invited them, Pervy sage started it by deciding to invite us to his cabin and mom got the bright idea to invite Mikoto which includes the whole Uchiha family. Now hurry the fuck up before I leave you, I have shit to do and I need to leave before mom makes it here." Naruto pushed himself off the car and opened the door, sliding in the driver's seat and starting the car with the slam of the door.
"Jeez give the kid a break Tsunade, this isn't anyone's ideal vacation setup. Naruto had no idea that Sasuke was coming and by what Kushina and Mikoto were loudly discussing the Uchiha boy had no clue either after being guilty in going on the vacation in the first place." Jiraiya sighed after his explanation and got in the car, leaving Tsunade to follow suit.
“Tis the season so I'll behave but you still need to give me all the details just so we're clear.” Her tone left no room for argument as she buckled in and immediately cranked the radio. Naruto took it for what it was worth and reversed the car, secretly hoping he would be able to actually talk to Sasuke when everyone returned to the cabin. Naruto really hoped no one had looked through the gift he had brought yet, the impulsive decision to bring the gift for Sasuke was starting to seem like a bad one. Shaking off the feeling, he drove his godparents back to Jiraiya’s cabin.

Hi, I just want to know why you hate Hinata so much? (I'm a Hinata Stan but I somehow agree with some points in your posts and I respect your opinion anyways)
Hi Anon😊😊😊. Thanks for the ask❤️
[[But this post may unintentionally hurt you, Anon. I am sorry for that as I am bashing about a character you love. I sincerely hope you don’t belong to those stans whom I mention in this post. I hope you understand, I am not targeting you or your choices]]
WHY I HATE HINATA???
Initially in part 1, I really liked her. When Sakura was treating Naruto like a pest, Hinata was the one who liked him. Because we all started to view this series through Naruto’s perspective, compared to everyone of his classmates, Sasuke and Hinata seemed to be the nicest people.
She really tried her best to follow Naruto's Ninja way by not giving up in Chunin Exams against her battle with Neji. I really wanted her to win and was little bit disappointed with her loss.
By the end of Part 1, She gave me a good vibe, unlike Sakura, although I didn’t like her stalking Naruto persistently and doing nothing.
And then comes the second part, Hinata slowly started to get on my nerves. She was still blushing heavily on seeing Naruto. I mean more than how she blushed in Part 1.
Even Sakura, the character I hated so much in Part 1, has changed a lot in Shippuden. Be it her amazing improvement in her skills or her attitude towards Naruto, she behaved really well (Only in the beginning). But Hinata, nope. I was like, ‘Girl !!!!!!, why are you still like this? Have you learnt anything in these 3 years at all? What happened to Naruto’s Ninja Way??? If you follow his way, you must keep him as an inspiration and should have overcome your shyness isn’t it??? So, You didn’t learn anything new!!!’.
During Pain Arc, She really annoyed me so much. She was clearly told to stay away from the battle. And, at that time, it became a common knowledge to everyone (including her) that Naruto was a Kyuubi’s Jinchuriki and that’s why Akatsuki were targeting him. She never even paid any consideration to these factors and straight away jumped before him and started to fight with Pain, as if she was a top class ninja.
Yes, She loves him and wants only good for him. But she jumped there because of her stupidity and selfishness. She couldn’t even pull out a single Chakra Rod from Naruto and was doing a clown show before everyone. Couple of Episodes before... we saw, Konohamaru, a 12 year old kid saved his Sensei by attacking one of the Pain with Rasengan successfully. Whereas she was just dancing like a cheer girl and failed miserably.
Alright, if she really wanted to save him, just go save him. What is the need for the love proposal????? As a Ninja, emotions should be kept on hold and fight without giving up, isn’t it???? She didn’t even behave like a Ninja, all I saw was a foolish girl who wants to play romance at all time... I slowly started to see a milder version of Sakura at that moment. I feel like she wasn’t really concerned about Naruto at all, It’s just to show off her Love and make Naruto guilty.
[[[[There are some idiots who draws parallel between Hinata jumping before Pain & Sasuke jumping before Haku...... Just don’t do it. Sasuke never made any dramatic proposal unlike her and he successfully protected Naruto. His body really moved on it’s own.... whereas Hinata’s mouth only moved a lot]]]]
Hinata made Naruto to transform into Kyuubi 6 Tailed mode because of her stupidity. Did she ever realize what would have happened if Naruto unknowingly killed some villagers during his rampage??? All these years, that poor kid tried so hard to make everyone acknowledge him. All of that hard work would’ve been thrown into the drain. Did she even think of that???? I don’t think so.
After that, I forgot her completely. I didn’t hate her though.
And then comes the Pointless Neji’s Death. There are many organic ways to make someone fall in love. It all takes 4 or 5 panels. Kishi could’ve made Naruto and Hinata walk together and go for a Ramen Date after Pain Arc. We audience would get it. Instead, Naruto went on to angst over someone else and now he made Neji to die for Hinata. Geezzz!!!
Does Neji have to die by playing a ‘Cupid’??? For me, this looks like, Neji saying, ‘Am dying because Hinata-Sama is so horny for you. Please accept her’. So, now the guilt has been placed on Naruto.
Neji was a very well developed side character almost similar to Shikamaru. He had a lot of potential to make some genuine changes to Hyuuga clan by destroying that stupid Main and Side branch shit. Hinata, may not give two shits about her clan but Neji could. Anyways, nothing about that matters in the end. How can we make Hinata get inside Naruto’s pants? By killing Neji.
On top of it, This..... Grrrrr.....
What the fuck, this girl is thinking about in the midst of war??????
So, She is feeling orgasmic about ‘Naruto-kun’s big and strong hands......’ While her beloved Neji Nii-San’s body has not turned cold yet. All she ever uttered was, ‘Naruto-Kun’ ‘Naruto-Kun’ like a Hentai Heroine. Sorry, when I think about this, it disgusts me more.
What kind of crass mentality this girl has???
For me this is the ugliest shit, a character can do in this entire series. Even Zabuza who was so cold hearted when he was first introduced in the series, couldn’t handle Haku’s body being treated poorly by Gato.
This is a man who killed many people in his life just for fun and bloodlust. But when he saw Haku’s body being treated poorly, he got into this monstrous rage and killed Gato in vengence and finally treated Haku as a precious person rather than a tool. His hand gesture proves it all.
If Zabuza has this soft side..... Where is Hinata’s sensitivity??? How can she admire about a boy’s hand when her Brother’s body is still a fresh corpse??? So, the author wants to conveys two things here.
A couple formed on the foundation of a blood stain & a human sacrifice.
A girl will always place her romantic life first despite standing on the dead body of a beloved person.
The worst part is, people are okay with it.
I would go on and shout at any day that Madara was better than this Hinata.
Her rabid stans are making me hate her even more, by self-inserting her in every part of Naruto’s life and claiming shamelessly that ‘Hinata is his most important person in this life’, While throughout the manga, I’ve never seen her do anything for him. Even before the Chunin Exams match with Neji, she gave a pep talk, yes. But why didn’t she tell Naruto to not go for Close-Combat??.
It’s as clear as day that Hinata never helped Naruto in his most important moments, be it happy or painful. She never knew who Naruto really was and what he was going through.
Best Example, say, When Naruto heard about the death of Jiraiya. What did Hinata do to ease his pain??? Nothing. It was Iruka who came up to him and shared him a popsicle just like Jiraiya did once.
The Two most import people for him are
IRUKA
SASUKE
I believe Naruto never used a simple and rageful ‘I’ll Kill you’, for anyone other than Iruka and Sasuke. Even after fighting Gaara, he said, ‘I’ll stop you even if i have to kill you’. Towards Pain, He just said, ‘I’m gonna kill you and bring peace back’. This shows where Naruto keeps these two people in his heart. In the Gaiden arc, Despite being married for 12 years, Naruto never remembered Hinata as the important person who were not connected to him by blood. He still mentioned only Iruka and Sasuke.
Even Naruto said this countless times. But still the stans want to self-insert in any way possible by claiming that OOC shitty ‘The Last’ movie by erasing the real history and create some pathetic alternate history just to self-insert, ‘The Byakugan Princess’.
I have no clue why Hinata stans are self-inserting where they have no business with?? Just because a movie was made for Hinata and was given a new title ‘The Byakugan Princess’, it doesn’t means She can be inserted everywhere in Naruto’s life. She was definitely a secondary side character throughout the Manga and a non-existent in the Boruto Manga.
[I really hope you don’t belong with these self-inserting stans, Anon]]
This just pisses real Naruto fans more and more, that includes me as well. Because there are million ways to make 2 people fall in love in a fictional world. I’ve seen many K-Dramas where couples fall in love organically in the first 2 or 3 episodes. There is no need for guilt-tripping or retconning the history or making Naruto into an Asshole.
But it doesn’t matter, Naruto’s son is punishing those idiot stans in the new Boruto Episode, anyway. It’s even in the Manga chapter 35, last page. I can’t help but smirk a little.
[[[[[NOTE: I am not making this into an SNS thing. Honestly even if I do, am still right, in some way... This GIF is making my Sasuke and Naruto Co-Parenting Boruto Theory stronger.]]]]]
Here, a kid, Uzumaki Boruto who is the son of Nanadaime Hokage, Uzumaki Naruto and The Byakugan Princess, Hyuuga Hinata,
Is proudly identifying himself as
Mr.Sasuke’s Student and Hokage’s Son.
Naturally a child should identify itself with it’s mom and dad. Or just with it’s teacher separately. It’s weird seeing a kid identifying himself with his Master and his Dad
Where is Hinata?? Ummm.... Making Tea, I guess.
I don’t know whether to be happy about Boruto for trolling rabid Hinata stans like this or sad about the writers reducing the women characters into nothing after hyping up like Princess Hinata & Sakura, the kween.... Hmmm, what a pairing fodders they are.
God!!!! This Girl was so horny about Naruto in Shippuden series but here she couldn’t even make an impact on her own son. Well, she never made an impact on Naruto anyway. It wouldn’t surprise me.
As a self-respecting woman, I find these girls’ lifestyle so pathetic. Revolving their lives around a man with no ambition or power to support their partners, just staying stagnant and most of all, no recognition from their own kids. And finally non-existent in the Manga.
You see, Anon, I have often said in many posts. Every character can be redeemed within 4 or 5 panels. Even Orochimaru, who committed Child Genocide and Human experimentation was also redeemed at last. He was written to help Sasuke in the War Arc, not as a human predator but as a former Master who was proud to see one of his students has grown wings and was about to fly in his own path.
Orochimaru went on to help Tsunade and the other Kages, formed a tag team with Hiruzen and contributed something in the war. I can even say it’s because of Orochimaru, Sasuke had a chance to change his heart from ‘Destroy Konoha’ to ‘Protect Konoha’. And Because of him, Hokages could Reanimate and could able to lend a big help in the 4th Shinobi World War. It doesn’t mean I love this character now. I hated him in part 1 and now I feel indifferent.
This makes me question, ‘What is the difference between a useless girl with no extraordinary jutsu who was feeling horny about a man’s hand by completely disregarding the dead body of her brother and a man who disregards the human life and experiments on it but finally he tried to do something helpful for this world???’ .
I don’t find any. Because they both treat other’s body like it’s nothing.
Atleast with the later, I find him helpful in many ways because of his extraordinary talent, while the former is completely useless.
So, that’s how Kishimoto can able to change people’s opinion in very few panels.
Kishi really succeeded in making me hate her in just 1 panel and he never redeemed her. Because most people are okay with her going horny about ‘Naruto-Kun’, while there are some people who finds her creepy for exactly the same reason.

awwww poor mukuro 👊😞
//tw poisoning, paranoia
mukuro has a very bad distrust in food she doesn’t see prepared herself, so with her rbf people would just...see this menacing, buff lady staring at them from across the kitchen and immediately get scared.
sakura ends up making her food mostly, and she lets Mukuro inspect the ingredient before she adds it; Sayaka tried to help, but she’s very insecure about Mukuro “not trusting her” with food so she disengaged from the making. Kyoto had a book on warning signs of poisoning, and she lends it to Mukuro, who just about cries when she’s given it.
also 💛 I think I have him ✨✨majorly mischaracterized✨✨ but I really want a friendship between Mukuro & the short mob blond (ends in hiko maybe? fuyuhiko?? idk), and as such Peko prepares food for Mukuro. She talks herself through tasks when she’s bored, so Mukuro likes listening to her explain what she’s doing - queer eye anon
!!!!!!!
first of all I love everything about this and second of all this is. reminding me of one of the sdr2 anthology things where hebesbhsdhvd teruteru is preparing food for nagito and nekomaru while they’re in the hospital (I don’t remember why they’re there) and they see him preparing the food and he just. Looks SO fucjing angry
they’re like “oh??? he’s going to kill us????”
honestly one of my faves because a) Nagito is drawn rlly cute in most of the panels, and b) teruteru and the reason he was acting all scary and angry,,,,🥺 it’s so good I love it hdbsbsbsbsbw
LIKE I JUST??? HSBWBWBSBSB
+ hanamura’s weird I’m CRYING
ok ok ok sorry anyway back to mukuro
but yeah???? literally????
highkey it hurts teruteru’s pride as a chef to be distrusted like that, but he can mostly deal with the way she stares at him as long as she stays out of his way while he’s cooking hdvsbdbd (it’s his art!! he gets lost in it very easily, so it’s pretty simple for him to block out external stimuli, including scary soldier ladies who look like they want to wring his neck)
also I feel like she’s probably the ONLY person the other students have ever seen been able to make Kirumi visibly perspire and become nervous lmaooo like!!! Kirumi’s used to this sort of thing, and she’s willing to accommodate Mukuro’s needs bc ofc she is, but??? There’s just something???? about how intense the staring is that just. REALLY puts her off (although not enough to get her to stop doing her job 💛)
and yesssss 🥺 Sakura is a godsend highkey bc of how patient and understanding she is?? Like not even just with her girlfriends, either, but with everyone??? freaking support system friend and we love her for it
but yeah mukuro rlly appreciates it?? she knows it can seem a bit peculiar to others, but for her, the fear is incredibly real and detrimental to her wellbeing if not dealt with appropriately. She doesn’t want to skip meals, but if the people who are cooking won’t allow her to see what’s being put into the food, she won’t eat unless she makes something herself. So Sakura being patient is rlly important to her
And :( it really is pretty devastating for Sayaka, especially considering how she’s usually so proud and excited about her cooking. She hates not being able to surprise her girlfriends with romantic meals!
Ultimately, of course, she recognizes that Mukuro’s comfort and safety comes before any of that - just means she has to find other means of showing her affection ❤️
It probably takes Sakura having to sit her down and chat with her about how Mukuro’s paranoia is nothing personal and there’s nothing to take offense from; their gf just needs a little love, compassion, and understanding !
Afterwards Sayaka’s like Ah. (*sayaka protag voice* nOw I uNdErStAnD-)
and !!!!!! freakingnggffnfbdbdb id die for gift giving kyoko because vsvsbwbwvsgw and also??? Mukuro would ALSO die for her because holy shit???? that’s so sweet????
Kyoko: *shows affection and concern through sentimental action*
Mukuro, crying, unsure how to deal with people caring about her: fucking superb you funky little detective
!!!!!! Yes fuyuhiko!!!! and it’s not a mischaracterization dw dw!!!
honestly 👀👀👀
Mukuro/Fuyuhiko/Peko friendship hours oh my GOD
highkey I imagine mukuro and fuyuhiko’s first interaction involved a lot of death threats and getting angry/annoyed at one another to the point where physical violence was threatened, at which point Peko stepped in with her sword skills and knocked Mukuro on her ass (if only because ikusaba was caught off guard) and muku was like oh???? this woman could potentially kick my ass??? that’s so hot I wanna be her friend
and then they all got to know each other a bit better and now they’re all friends!!! Muku and fuyu still like to get up to some aggressive banter, but it’s (mostly) pretty baseless. Empty threats and mean-spirited jokes, but, in like, a cool platonic way dhsbsbdbsb 💛
they probably all hang out in the kitchen together while Peko cooks - it’s rlly nice!!! Peko gets to both keep an eye on both of them to make sure they’re not murdering each other, while also having company and conversation to keep things light-hearted and nice! Fuyuhiko loves it because spending time with Peko is always 👌, plus he can definitely understand where Ikusaba’s coming from in regards to her phobia because, y’know, being part of the yakuza.....that’s pretty similar to some of the shit he has to be careful of y’know?
and Mukuro !!! gets to eat nice food that a friend makes her!!!! because she knows for certain that it’s safe to eat!!! and she gets to distract herself, too, sometimes and ease the fear factor a little bit when she loses herself to conversation - even though logically she knows that she’s safe, Fuyuhiko, Peko, and Sakura help to make her feel safe as well!!
#the anthologies are a trip and I could go on entire rambles about literally everything about them send tweet 💛#poisoning#poisoning tw#paranoia#paranoia tw#Mukuro ikusaba#ogamikuzono#danganronpa#queer eye anon#ask box#dr headcanon tag#teruteru hanamura#kirumi tojo#Sayaka maizono#Sakura ogami#sakura oogami#fuyuhiko kuzuryuu#fuyuhiko kuzuryu#peko pekoyama#kyoko kirigiri#trigger happy havoc#Nagito komaeda#nekomaru nidai#sdr2#goodbye despair#sdr2 goodbye despair#danganronpa trigger happy havoc#dr1#dr thh#non despair au (danganronpa)

unfaithful
Summary: Sakura is surprised to see Sasuke is the senior associate of the firm she is supposed to start working for. All of her feelings start to come back 10 years after he abandoned her. Sasuke finds out somethings are truly never behind you, and when he starts falling back in love with her, his past comes to hunt him. Her biggest issue? He is already married
Sasusaku Fanfic AU Lawyers. M
Chap 3
Sasuke was angry. Angry at Naruto for putting him down like that in front of their whole firm, for being forced to work with his mistress! For accommodating her in the office right across from his, where he couldn't help but to stare at her all throughout the day; He was also angry at himself for choosing glass panels when decorating the firm, making said visibility possible, and perhaps at his own inability (or reluctance) to close his curtains to stop it.
He was exhausted, he barely had any sleep the night before. Her teary face came to him every time he attempted to close his eyes, saying please don't leave over and over. Images of the nights they spent together in their youth, fumbling around each other, full of inexperience and desire came to him, causing him bodily reactions he didn't really want to have, and making the couch where he slept incredibly uncomfortable. Other images started to fill his mind after, images of his friend fisting a handful of pink locks from behind while be grunted against her. It was nauseating really.
He remembered Sakura as a pure little thing, who didn't even dare to make excuses to her parents to be able to spend more time with her boyfriend because it was dishonest, and liars were the worst kind of people. And now there she was, having an affair, ruining a marriage between two of the best people Sasuke had ever met.
And really what other explanation could there be for all the special treatment? Naruto was that kind of person, he knew. Overly friendly and generous, but he'd never seen him been so extremely affectionate with anyone other than his wife.
He would have to go speak to her soon enough, if there were going to be working on the case. It was almost 5pm and there she was seated on top of her desk, her short dressed rising even higher showing up her creamy long legs, gossiping away with Yamanaka as she had done the entire day. Sasuke decided he couldn't waste more time in other people's indiscretions, he had work to do, so he walked to her office, briefcase in hand and said "Sakura with me now, Yamanaka I need the prosecutors list of witness for the case before you leave for the day" and continued walking toward the elevator without looking back to see if she'd followed.
Sakura grabbed her purse and hurried to him. "Where are we going, boss?" She asked squeezing in between the closing elevator doors he hadn't bothered to hold for her.
"Coffee" he answered coldly.
Once the doors closed, she leaned her back against the wall, crossing her arms in front of her chest and said "Listen Sasuke... I ... I don't know if you remember, but... back in high school I was..."
"Why wouldn't I remember?" He interrupted. Of course, anyone would be perfectly able to remember their teenage sweetheart of 4 years, even if it was a whole decade later, barring an aneurysm or something.
"I just... thought... you didn't seem to recognize..."
"Do you always stutter this much now? It's annoying" Sasuke said rudely. Looking to his phone to avoid looking at what he knew would be a blushed, indignant, Sakura. He stepped outside right as the doors opened.
Instead of taking a place in line to order, Sasuke sat down at a table, pulling out documents from his briefcase and organizing them into piles. I thought we came for coffee... Sakura thought, standing in front of him, fidgeting with her bag.
"I'm going to get a latte; would you like anything?" She asked.
The raven-haired man didn't even look up as he said. "Coffee, black"
Okay Mr Arrogant. She thought, dragging herself to the task on hand.
Sakura returned quickly with two coffee cups, and a cupcake in a small paper bag, which for lack additional hands, she had to carry with her teeth.
The table was completely covered in piles of documents by then, no space so that she could set down the cups.
Ignoring her predicament, he started. "Court starts tomorrow at 8am sharp, be there early, judge Hatake is presiding, he has a hatred for unpunctuality that rivals my own, so don't be trying to pull things like this morning" which was a lie, of course, judge Hatake was notorious for his constant tardiness.
And just how did he know I was late? She thought. He wasn't there was he? The small paper bag was starting to slip past her teeth by then, still not able to put the cups down.
"I need 4 chronologically organized sets of copies of every document in this table, bound in different folders with cover sheets" He could've easily have asked his assistant to do the work, maybe if he'd been able to concentrate at all that day he would have, but he was forced to take a second chair and he wasn't going to give her an important task just because she was hooking up with his friend. If anything, he'd do the opposite. Give her the most menial task he can think of, to keep her occupied enough to stay out of his case.
She noodled quickly in response, forgetting for a second about the bag she was biting down on. It only took that one second, the cupcake bag slipped past her lips, she instinctively tried to stop, swinging her entire arm to the side to prevent it from hitting the table, she didn't want the original documents covered in frosting, but of course, her hand was already occupied, the sudden movement causing the cup to spill piping hot coffee right on Sasuke's chest.
"What the F... arrrg " he gritted his teeth as the scalding liquid hurt like hell. He stood up quickly trying to separate his drenched shirt from making contact with his skin.
"I'm so sorry Sasuke-kun!" Pulling out a handkerchief from her purse and pressing it to his chest and stomach, trying to at least soak up some of the offending liquid. "I was just trying to..."
He glared at her, taking the handkerchief from her hand abruptly. "Save it" Sasuke said between his gritted teeth. He grabbed his suitcase and walked away, leaving a mortified Sakura behind.
He didn't return. After an hour passed it became evident, he wasn't coming back, so she went back to offices to complete the work he had ordered her to do. The lights were out and the offices completely empty. Sakura couldn't help but to cuss at herself internally for what a terrible first day she just had.
X
Sasuke walked into his apartment to his wife and Suigetsu, one of the paralegals of the office, sharing a drink on the kitchen table. A common event at the residence.
"Hey Sasuke, looking terrible today, what happened to ya?" Said the white-haired man, grinning like an idiot at the sight of the usually immaculate Sasuke, stained in coffee.
"Spilled coffee" he offered no more explanations in return. He simply walked into the bedroom grabbed a fresh shirt and went toward his home office.
He paid no attention to his wife, who did not acknowledge his entry either. She was dress in boxers and a thin white tank top, and Suigetsu thought that any other man would be angered at the scene of his wife scantily dressed in such company, no matter what the state of the relationship.
He couldn't even begin to feel guilty for ogling at his friends wife.
It should be pointed out that Karin was an attractive woman, red fiery hair, voluptuous, he noted how thin the material of her shirt was, leaving nothing to the imagination. It was no secret Suigetsu had a thing for her, and the fact that she only had eyes for Sasuke, at least in the past, only made him want her more.
Karin said nothing as she prepared some tea and offered Suigetsu a cup with a gentle smile on her face. He knew her very well, from before and after Sasuke, and gentle smiles where not exactly Karin's thing. And from her attitude towards him, the way she carried herself, and the blankets and pillows in the couch inside Sasuke's office, he determined with certainty that Karin hadn't had sex in a very long time. That thought definitely made him smile.

Sasuke walked confidently inside court room number 10, exactly 30 minutes before the scheduled trial, which meant he should still have about an hour before Judge Kakashi deigned to show up, he was expecting to find it empty. He almost twisted his neck when a light shade of pink caught his eye.
She was seated on what was supposed to be his chair, leaned back as fair as the chair would go with her legs rested on the table. She smiled enthusiastically at him upon seeing him, said. "Morning boss" and handed him a cup.
"I'm not your boss" he said taking the offered cup with distrust and standing next her and waiting for her to move.
"Sure... listen Sasuke, I'm sorry about yesterday" she said lowering her legs at the same time and moving to the adjacent chair.
"Hn" he sat next to her. "Where are folders I requested"
"Here" Sakura answered, handing him one folder instead of the four he'd requested. "I did you one better and figured you were asking for them to submit to the plaintiff, the judge and records, so I sent them this morning, this is your copy, please note the index and numbered pages I created for accessibility"
"Hn... how obsequious of you" He answered unimpressed.
Sakura knew what he was trying to pull. She figured he would try to give her tasks, that one would consider to be beneath her, until she decided to give up being second chair to his case. He wasn't happy about her presence, and made no secret of it at the meeting, and she wasn't exactly thrilled to be working with him. But she'd be damned if she walked away from a case because of a man.
"Also... I was studying up on your strategy, and I think it's very good, but I think we should focus I but more on the ..."
He didn't allow her to finish. "I don't need advice from beginners"
Jerk. She thought but she held her tongue. She didn't know how long Sasuke had been working on this case, but he must know what he is doing, he was always the most competent person she knew.
The trail started, and Sasuke seemed to be dominating, exuding confidence as he walked in front of the jury. Everything about him screamed I know what I'm doing. From his exemplary posture, to his perfectly tailored dark suit, to his eloquence in questioning the witness. He ended his questioning and gave a little smile to the jury, half of which was already smitten with the handsome raven-haired attorney.
Taking full advantage of his looks huh. He never used to do that when younger, he always seemed to consider the attention his looks attracted unwanted and annoying. I guess whatever helps you win the case, right?
Even the plaintiff's attorney seemed to be infatuated with the dark-haired man, she blushed when he looked at her on the way back to his seat.
"No more questions for this witness your honor" Sasuke said as he sat down. Fully confident that his line of questioning went exactly on the direction he planned for the case.
"Ammm actually I have a couple of questions for the witness, if I may..." Sakura announced for the judge.
"You May... Miss?" Judge Hakate said, eying the pinkette attorney, who stood up nervously.
Sasuke's eyes were wide. He looked at her menacingly and said. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" His voice almost a whisper, his arm moved to stop her.
"Trust me okay?" Sakura answered to him.
"No!" he whispered. But she roughly shook off his hand that had grabbed her by her blazer. And then to the judge, "Haruno Sakura, your honor"
Sasuke was pissed, she looked back at him after walking passed him and towards the podium, his eyes almost had a tint of red, he was so angry.
"Doctor... please explain one more time, why is it that Doctor Senju's procedure to restart the patient's heart once it had stopped is out of the norm" Sakura asked, addressing the Hospital Board director that Sasuke had questioned mere seconds before.
"Well the standard procedure is to use a defibrillator, continuing CPR and oxygen intubation, until either the patient is either stable or irreversible cessation of the heartbeat is determined. Senju ceased CPR after less than 2 minutes, and proceeded use a scalpel to open the patient's chest cavity, inserting her entire hand, and pumped the patient's heart by hand"
The jury and the crowd gasped at his crude explanation.
"But it saved the patient's life did it not?"
Sakura said, eyeing the plaintiff seated next to her attorney.
"Technically yes, but it's a highly risky technique, less than 5% survival rate, and in this case unnecessary, as I covered at length with your colleague just a few seconds ago, I think it was Tsunade's ego wanting to prove herself a better doctor"
"Yes, thank you I heard" She gave him a kind smile, and looked over to Sasuke, who was still scowling at her. Obviously working as a team was something new to him.
"So, let's go back to the beginning, Ms. Terumi wanted the surgery to enhance her breasts, something went wrong with the anesthesia, and she entered into cardiac arrest" Sakura said addressing the jury in a light tone, and then turned to the witness one more time. "Of course, any procedure that requires general anesthesia comes with its risks, it's common knowledge and disclosed in advance with the patient before the surgery. And rather than let her patient, and may I say friend, die, Doctor Tsunade determined it would be best to save her life even if it left Ms. Tekumi with an unsightly scar, I mean, if this is not a frivolous lawsuit I don't know what is, wouldn't you agree doctor?"
Sasuke was impressed, even if he tried to push the thought to the back of his head, she had deviated from his strategy, taken over his case! but the regality to which she seemed to be handling the questioning was... hot.
"I would not. Doctor Senju knew the proper procedures and chose to ignore them! She knew how important her appearance was to Mis Terumi! As an underwear model, the scar could seriously hinder her career, she derailed her whole life, and for what, for her ego or perhaps envy?" The expert witness said, he was vicious, he knew just how to surprise the jury with scandalous accusations.
"Doctor do you know why doctors' advice not to use illicit drugs before a surgery, in fact they require that a patient needs to been "clean" for a least 6 months before preparing for any surgery? of course you do, but I'm going to tell our jury, the risk, in this case for cocaine abuse and undergoing general anesthesia is that it can cause tissue compression, compartment syndrome, and neuropraxia. Did Ms. Terumi mentioned that she used to have a big cocaine problem?"
"Well... it was not... in her medical record" the doctor was stuttering now.
"Well it is here, medical record from last year, hospitalization due to cocaine overdose. Of course, she didn't disclose that to our Doctor Senju, but is it unreasonable to think she would still be using and that Doctor Senju noticed the side effects of the drug abuse after going under anesthesia? And that with the risk of using a defibrillator and causing pulmonary and cardiac necrosis, she decided the best course of action was to take an unorthodox but less damaging approach?"
"I... would need to see.."
"So, isn't it a bit narcissistic of your part to project your egomaniac tendencies to a kind doctor who was trying to do her best to save her friend!?"
"Aaam objection... she is badgering the witness..." the opposite attorney interfered, trying to save a bit of face in a case she knew she'd already lost.
"I'll allow it... Answer the question doctor"
"Ahem... perhaps"
"Thank you, nothing further your honor" Sakura said, walking back to her seat practically bouncing with adrenaline. It almost didn't matter that Sasuke was still giving her his look of doom. Because from where she was seated Tsunade was giving her a proud-knowingly smirk, and Judge Kakashi was smiling at her. She was so giddy.
"The court will call for the evidence of Ms. Terumi hospitalization for drug overdose, and perhaps even a drug test to confirm accusations. We will reconvene tomorrow 9am, for closing statements and delivering of verdict if the testing is ready by then, meeting adjourned" Said Judge Kakashi, taking a stand to leave, but not before looking over his shoulder to the attractive pink haired attorney, and gave her a little smile. It wasn't very often Hatake Kakashi was surprised.
Sakura saw him, and in return offered him, what she knew to be the most dashing smile at her disposal.
Moving up to a judge I see. Sasuke thought.
Tsunade Senju, took a stand to shake Sakura's hand. "That was very impressive. I don't remember that information being on the packet I presented to your firm"
"Hehe thank you" Said Sakura, shaking her hand enthusiastically, even before college, she had heard how legendary Doctor Senju was, she deserved the best defense possible.
"I recognize your type anywhere Miss Haruno." Said the blonde woman, squinting to her as if trying to see her more clearly. "I'll be getting in touch with you, maybe we can get a drink something"

To say that Sasuke was annoyed would be underestimating the ordeal. He was used to getting the congratulating elations, not having to share into the spotlight with anyone else. He took special notice in the looks judge Hatake gave the tiny pink haired girl. It literally made him groan. Why am I so worked up about this whole thing? So, what if she was having an affair? Or two? What was it about that, that makes me so... angry? He thought.
With everyone waking out of the court room, he took his leave as well, gathering his paperwork into his briefcase, not even glancing over to Sakura, she was at least expecting some snarky comment or something about her bold actions.
She caught up to him in the parking lot. About to get into his luxurious but understated black car.
"Sasuke! Listen I know I might have crossed some boundaries, but I think..."
As usual, he didn't let her finish. "You think?! You derailed my case!"
"You're going to win the case thanks to my argument, what do you mean derailed!?"
"I just... I don't know who you think you are to just waltz in here and do as you please! Flirting with judge Kakashi to get an advantage! Cheap!"
She was officially offended. "Didn't I just see you flirting with the jury a few moments ago?! What the hell is your problem with me? Is because we used to..." Hypocrite
"You just think you can come here, to my firm, take my case, and I'll say nothing, just because you're Naruto's whore!"
She tensed at the insult. Looked down and tried but failed to remember her anger management techniques.
"Asshole..." she exhaled, the word almost a whisper. And then she moved, too much in close proximity to Sasuke for him to react.
Her fist made contact with his cheek. Hard. Sending him stumbling back against his car. She felt the bones of his cheek bone crack a little.
But couldn't feel concerned about his wellbeing. What kind a person says that!? She thought and simply walked away to her own car.
Sasuke heard the delicate clacking of her high heels as she walked away. And thought, for what would be only the second time in his entire life. I might have fucked up.
