"DNI-Related Controlling Behaviors: The use of a DNI to try to enforce control over anyone who so much as ‘likes’ a post of theirs to an unhealthy degree, often backed up with social shaming, harassment, and callouts. The DNI may also be used as a social ‘trap’ to create an acceptable target for abuse. NOTE: While reasonable boundaries are good and DNIs are not by themselves red flags, this goes beyond reasonable boundaries and into unreasonable controlling behaviors. The use of ‘DNI’ in this criterion refers to all ‘boundary rule’-esque pages such as BYFs and other such things, not just DNIs.
"Vagueing, harassing, making callouts, or otherwise attacking people who are using the website as intended (i.e.- interacting with posts on their feed in any fashion without stalking the op) and likely did not see the DNI. Especially if the DNI is hidden or nonspecific and vague (ex- ‘no freaks’ or ‘standard DNI’), making them even easier to violate by accident.
"Frequently interacts aggressively with people who are clearly on their DNIs and then calls them boundary violators for responding to the harassment."
- Excerpt from "Safety in Alterhuman Spaces," a document by the Dragonheart Collective. Emphasis in the original. You can read the whole document here (PDF).
A note on language in the above quote: DNI (Do Not Interact) and BYF (Before You Follow) mean a type of post that many people put on their social media accounts to tell others about their boundaries.

Hi! So, I just started watching a documentary series aimed mainly at kids, following everyday life at the Bergen Aquarium in Norway.
And they have some reptiles. I an not an expert on the handling shown in the series, but I'm sure they know what they're doing.
But early on in season 1, they get a green anaconda from the Crocodile Zoo in Denmark. Just a little one, about 2,5 meters long. And the narrator says that it is considered one of the most dangerous snakes in the world? Is that correct??? Or just making drama for the intended audience of children?
Have you ever handled one?
Thank you!
Hmm, it might be stretching the truth a little bit, but sure, under the right (very specific) circumstances, green anacondas can be dangerous to humans. They're one of the few snakes that can actually get big enough to really kill or even eat an adult person, although a snake big enough to do so is exceptionally large and it's vanishingly rare.
I have handled green anacondas! They're lovely. Too big for most private keepers to even think about owning, but one of my herpetology friends is the director of a zoo and converted his basement into an enclosure for his, and she's a sweetheart. Anacondas can be a bit grumpy but well-socialized ones are a treat.
As with any large snake, it's not safe to handle any snake over about 12 feet long on your own, just because they don't know their own strength and accidents can happen! But personality-wise anacondas are lovely. They're just so big that handling them is a group effort!

Genuinely can someone explain why TADC is tv-pg on Netflix? Like that shits not for fucking kids.
You shouldn't be putting THIS
With a fucking children's rating!!
We should NOT be exposing vulnerable children who don't even know what the hell they're getting into to this!! Shit like this is part of what fucking traumatized me a little kid!!
They need to change the fucking rating, I'm not even joking, I will not be watching this show until they do.

I still think I was onto something when I said that Kim's fixation on the revolutionary air brigades felt kind of like a kid with glasses really wanting to be a firefighter and then learning that you can't be a firefighter if you don't have natural 20/20 visiom because the heat would melt plastic or cause burns from metal frames and contacts weren't a safe choice either. It feels a lot like that. He wanted to work on those aerostatics but couldn't because of his eyesight
#disco elysium#de#kim kitsuragi#also brought to you by the fact that someone from my province is gonna be on the international spacestation#and i got curious#so i looked and was like 'lots of schooling but I could justify it-'#and then seeing that not only do you have to pass physicals you had to have within a certain blood pressure and heart rate range#i still think I could handle the gforces#and i thought about kim feeling the same way#and thats why he drives so fast#he wantd to be in the air brigades but either directly being tolda that there was a 'safety risk' for pilots to have any eye issues#at such high speeds you need to constantly be ready to react and glasses impede that somehow#so he enjoys showing off proof of his driving abilitg

Holy shit
Can I just say
I am so
motherfucking tired
of these exorbitantly huge
vehicles with front hoods/grilles that are as tall as my head
These need to have the shit taxed out of them and heavily regulated instead of being subsidized as farm equipment and being given out like candy, people are basically like bugs on a windshield if they get hit
#did i mention how all the ~safety features~ that could actually help pedestrians are hardly ever default for these vehicles#and the 'safety ratings' for these vehicles are always about the occupants not how safe they are for using with people outside the vehicle#honourable mention: the front blind spots are HUGE! imagine twenty kids sitting in front of these trucks and only seeing the 21st kid#trucks#pickup trucks#light pickup trucks#gmc denali#gmc sierra#ford f150#dodge ram#chevrolet 3500 hd#chevrolet silverado#ford ranger#toyota tacoma#nissan v8#gmc canyon#and others#fuck cars#car dependence#traffic violence#road violence

These are two slides from a presentation that I did together with my partner @who-is-page: "You Are Not A Museum Piece: Putting Yourself Out There In The Alterhuman Community." You can watch the whole presentation on Youtube here.
You can make informed decisions about your privacy on the internet, and pick and choose to make it just right for your own personal needs. It doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. A risk that's acceptable for one person may be too big for another person. These lists are based on sources such as the book The Smart Girl’s Guide to Privacy: Practical Tips for Staying Safe Online, by Violet Blue. We recommend reading it to learn more.

Why does the right constantly believe they are not being idealistic, the world needs to conform to your beliefs for them to work too, things are not going to just turn on a dime because you think you're intellectually superior for not thinking about the impact your changes would have on other people
#both sides drive me up the fucking wall#yes I position myself in the right side of the political spectrum but holy shit#'abolishing the police is a bad idea but we should abolish public schools'#'taxing the rich won't work because they avoid taxes like the plague so let's abolish all taxes and rely on people's generosity instead'#'we have declining birth rates and this is going to destroy the middle class and the military and the elderly but fuck maternity leave'#'employers are increasingly discriminating against women and mothers who need to work to support their families because the middle class is#shrinking but employers should be allowed to discriminate against whoever they want because they can't possibly have existing biases'#there's no quippy way to say it but the right believes gun safety laws can never properly be applied much like the left believes#pro-life laws can never be properly applied therefore restrictions are illogical at best and dangerous at worst#do you guys see what I'm saying here

oh dear god i've gone so deep into a ship again that I'm now having feelings around the emotional significance and symbolism of different clothing colors and anyway Green is for heart-on-his-sleeve Carlos being incredibly vulnerable but still brave enough to follow his (fragile, battered) heart (usually towards TK). Maroon is for when he's secure and confident in his love, sometimes to the point of being mischievous little brat. Grey is for focus and intensity and protectiveness. Brown is for when he's feeling threatened or uncomfortable. Blue is for happiness (light blue is flirty-happy). This is a completely reasonable thing to be spending my evening thinking about.
#then again is this any worse than the other day when I was reading an NHTSA report on EMS lights and sirens policy safety and usage rates?#probably#fandom is such a silly place#Tarlos#911 lone star

A Home Safety Hotline tier list of sorts, all my opinion
I TAKE NO CRITICISMS
The bad categories are directed towards how creepy or awful (conceptually) the entity is btw. Disclaimer I love everything about the game but SOME OF THESE ARE SCARY AS FUCK IDEAS
