So, I saw a post circulating here about the “extinction of birds in 2023“, with this picture attached

My, what a bold claim! All these poor birdies, “went extinct” in just one year alone? Why would such an outrageous, depressing and catchy claim be spread around? Let’s fact check it.

All the species listed, Bachman’s wabler (Vermivora bachmanii, 1988 or 1980s), Kāmaʻo or large Kauaʻi thrush (Myadestes myadestinus, 1989 or 1987), Bridled white-eye (Zosterops conspicillatus, 1983 and 1983), Kauai ʻakialoa (Akialoa stejnegeri, 1969 or 1960s), Kauaʻi ʻōʻō (Moho braccatus, 1987 and 1987), Kauaʻi nukupu��u (Hemignathus hanapepe, 1899 and 1899), Maui ʻakepa (Loxops ochraceus, 1988 and 1988), Kākāwahie or Molokaʻi creeper (Paroreomyza flammea, 1963 and 1963), Maui nukupuʻu (Hemignathus affinis, 1896* and 1996 ) and Poʻouli (Melamprosops phaeosoma, 2004 and 2004) are all, indeed, either extinct or possibly extinct, according to IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

What are the dates after the scientific names? Well, those all are *last sightings* per IUCN Red List and USFWS accordingly. So, these birds were not seen for DECADES and in one case FOR MORE THAN A GODDAMN CENTURY. And sure as hell there is NO information about them very suddenly being gone all last year.

What’s the deal then? Where did this claim even come from? Well, likely from this article "21 Species Delisted from the Endangered Species Act due to Extinction" from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. It includes all the birds in the picture (with the last date of sight, listed above).

From the article: “The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is delisting 21 species from the Endangered Species Act due to extinction. Based on rigorous reviews of the best available science for each of these species, the Service determined these species are extinct and should be removed from the list of species protected under the ESA. Most of these species were listed under the ESA in the 1970s and 80s and were in very low numbers or likely already extinct at the time of listing.”

They didn’t ALL fucking suddenly drop dead all in the same year – if they did, as some other people have already pointed out, there would be an uproar EVERYWHERE. Ornithologists alone would not let it live down. They were officially delisted from endangered status by U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service that year, there was a proposition to do so back in 2021, too. Some were already declared extinct before by IUCN.

Despite not being seen for so long, they remained on the list of critically endangered for a long while, cause you cannot just immediately declare a species extinct. There’s no RTS unit amount number that goes to 0 once there’s nothing left; people keep checking for them over and over and over again. Sometimes it turns out that a species previously thought to be extinct is actually still out there. Attenborough's long-beaked echidna for example was last sighted SIXTY YEARS ago before being sighted again in 2023. It was thought to be extinct for a while, before 2007, when signs of its activity was spotted again. More often than not though, a species turns out to be actually very extinct, unfortunately – like in this case. I cannot possibly know if the creators of this picture, or people that spread it on social media ever had good intentions behind it for awareness, however even if they did, it turned out to be nothing but very blatant misinformation, with a fearmongering effect. The only thing this achieves is not awareness of habitat destruction or pernicious tourist influence or climate change or what have you – the only thing this achieves is despair and panic. People already so casually fall into complete doomerism, they’re very used to hear bad news. And guess what doomerists do? Typically nothing. It renders people helpless. It’s not gonna make people get up and be ready for action, it, at best, would just make people feel sad and/or angry, or at worst, feed into the current alarming rise of ecofascism. NOTHING good comes out of this. At the very goddamn least, no one needs to lie to promote a goal.

The aim of the USFWS article, on the other hand, IS to make people aware about those animals that are already gone from the face of the planet, no matter how long ago, and that now we have to protect those animals that are critically endangered and still out there – to not have to repeat those tragedies.

Be very critical of what you see on the internet, especially if it’s sited with no sources. Especially-especially if it causes a strong emotional reaction. Lies and misinfo could only hurt the cause, no matter how noble. And please, be aware of your local wildlife status. Check in with it accoding to trusted sources.

a soft chuckle escapes you while reading what your viewers had to say, somewhat relieving you from the heartbreaking arc of the game. “i’m pretty sure this is the right track… i feel my eyes tearing up too, you’re definitely not the only one.”

a couple more messages pop up, but you decide to focus on the game’s storyline for now. 

a little girl is hunched over her sister’s hospital bed, sobbing after the realization her beloved sibling was never going to wake up after falling from the top of the staircase in their home.

a tear slowly falls down your cheek while you stay silent and continue watching, hoping your viewers wouldn’t notice it if you act unfazed. though, it seems they have eyes sharper than you think.

“pshh, i’m not crying, chat!” you feign with a not-so convincing pout. you clearly have a soft spot for these type of family-oriented game plots, enjoying how they touch into the lives of people and the complexities behind them.

its during times like this where you yearn for your boyfriend, haechan, more than anything, but… you’re pretty sure he’s busy streaming another game in a different room. you face falls into a slight frown thinking about it, one your chat assumes is because of the sad story coming to a close.

a white screen snaps you out of your thoughts, signaling the game had finally ended and you turn to face the camera filming your face cam. “so… what do we think?” you ask, giving a warm smile.

user_6: GOD THAT WAS TOO MUCH

user_7: thank the heavens its done

user_8: wtf just happened…

“right? to be honest- im pretty overwhelmed.” you speak, taking a sip from your water jug next to you in hopes of letting the immense feeling dissipate, but that only does little in actually quelling it. you could really use a hug from haechan right about now… it wouldn’t hurt to leave chat for a moment right? 

“i’ll just go get something quickly then we can try to unpack the plot of the game a little better.” you tell your viewers before standing up from your computer chair and rushing over to haechan’s room.

as you approach the white door sealing his room from the hallways, you hear a string of curses pass your ears. “jisung you little shit! i said to your right not your left- no, no!! YOUR left not MY left.”

slowly, you peek through the door, getting a glimpse of your boyfriend seemingly fuming over a round of overwatch, but you (and his viewers) know that’s just how he plays — and it’s quite entertaining to hear the banter between him and his friends. 

“jaemin revive me. im by the corner- JUST WHERE ARE YOU ON THE MAP??? ahhh, im screwed for real.” he whines as his screen displays that he died in game, slumping back into his chair as he waits for the next round to start. “you guys better carry this game or else-“

“hyuck?” you finally speak up, pushing the door a little more to make room for yourself to enter. haechan’s chat goes crazy after seeing you enter his room, mostly filling up with messages to greet your entrance.

“sorry… i didn’t want to interrupt but you see- this game i was playing… it was so sad and i-“ you get cut off by your boyfriend reeling you into a hug. 

you don’t even need to listen in on his earphones to hear the coos from his friends, already used to their teasings when you and haechan are together.

“let me guess, another one about family?” oh he really just reads you like an open book, his voice much softer in comparison to how he was speaking earlier. you feel so loved knowing he pays attention to the smallest details about you. 

“mhm. i just wanted a hug.” 

“and that, you’re getting.” he chuckles, rubbing small, soothing circles on your back with his thumb. 

his embrace is warm. just what you needed after an intense, downcast game. you already feel yourself fueling back up with positivity, pulling away after a couple more seconds.

“thank you.” you smile sheepishly, feeling a little awkward his viewers just watched that entire exchange from the camera resting on top of his monitor. “i should get back to my own stream now though.” you add, giving haechan a small kiss on the cheek before waving a goodbye towards his camera. 

“i’ll give you all the cuddles and kisses later.” haechan tells you, patting your head as he lets you leave his room.

“i’ll be anticipating that.” you giggle before shutting the door behind you, and returning to your own streaming room.

“chat! sorry that took so long, but im back now!” you exclaim quite cheerily, a considerable difference to your gloomy expressions earlier.

you flush, realizing your actions have been found out. then again, it wasn’t that difficult for someone to know what you were doing when your boyfriend’s stream was publicized just like yours.

the query has your chat switching topics in the blink of an eye, something you’re rather grateful for — knowing the blush on your cheeks already gave you away long ago. still, you'd say everything was worth it for that hug.

My goodbye to Rooster Teeth.

I know this isn’t exactly recent news anymore, but yeah. Rooster Teeth is closing. It hit me hard when I heard that. I’m not going to lie, I haven’t watched much of their content at all in the past 6-7 years. Not since I was just starting college back in like 2018/2019.

I was also late to the party in the first place. I didn’t start watching Rooster Teeth until like 2013-2015? I believe it was the Minecraft let’s plays with Achievement City or the Rage Quit Series that got me started. RWBY, one of my all time favorite shows, came later. And after that, it was the podcasts, and Red vs. Blue. I only got to about season 15 I think, but it was definitely awe inspiring.

But despite that, RT was a huge part of my teenage years. I would come home from school and just watch countless videos from them. Sometimes stuff all the way back to their first years of creating things.

Now, it's all kind of just... over. I kind of feel like I've known some of them for so long, it hurts hearing this happen to them. Geoff especially hurt me... I cried as soon as I heard him on their response video thing. That man put his life, mind, heart, body, and soul into that company and now it's just gone. That feels so wrong to me. I hope all the employees will find great ways to keep following their passions and express all the creativity that they have shown over the last two decades. I know that no company can really last forever, but that doesn't make this any easier.

Obviously, I don't know what's going to happen to their intellectual properties, but I hope they don't end, RWBY in particular. It's been such a long journey for its creators and fans, this just can't be the end. I really do hope that it's continued. If not by Kerry or its other current writers and animators, then someone else. I heard that dillongoo, a former animator from RWBY (who makes really cool animations on youtube too), was interested in possibly buying the rights to RWBY which would be fitting in my opinion. We will all just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, I went and downloaded as much RWBY content as I could find and also some RT Animated Adventures because I don’t know what’s going to happen when the official shutdown comes. If the website and youtube channel gets shut down too then I don't want those to be lost for good. I wish I could download a lot more to save it all, but I just don't have that kind of time or storage space

I don't know what will happen in a few months after they're officially shut down, but regardless...

Personal Thoughts On Red vs Blue: Restoration

Alright so, it’s been a few weeks since Red vs Blue Restoration hit the internet. I’ve had time to sit, think, cry and process RvB and Rooster Teeth as a whole ending. As I stated on a previous post, I got into RVB around 2015? I think Season 13 had ended then. So I haven’t really spent as much time with the Sims Troopers as many others have. But those 9 years were wonderful and I’m grateful for finding such an entertaining show and fandom. Any show that can make me laugh my ass off and also make me full on sob my eyes out is 10/10 in my book.

Anyway, moving on. I said I’d put out my own personal thoughts and feelings for Restoration in the form of a Pro’s and Con’s post; so here it is:

THE PROS

The AI Fragments: I LOVE them going back and focusing on the AI fragments again. I remember hearing that Miles was talking about how he was going to do something similar with them after the Chorus Trilogy but things happened and Jason ended up taking over after Season 14. I personally always adored the idea of the Reds and Blues each getting one of the AI fragments that suited their personal needs and would lead to more character development for them later on down the line.

Tucker and the AI’s: On the subject of AI’s, After Season 13, I remember reading a lot of fan theories and fanfics that often brought up what possible side effects Tucker could go through with Epsilon not only shattering but having all those fragments at once helping him power the Meta suit. And it looks like a lot of them weren’t far off! While we will never know what actually happened once those doors were opened, at some point either immediately or not long afterwards, the AI took control and ran off with poor Tucker.

Caboose’s Voice: While it was a little jarring at the beginning, being so used to Joel’s, Michael Malconian did a phenomenal job as Caboose’s voice. I feel like he got that child-like, not all there, but still ready to help out however he can personality down perfect. NGL, I think I actually prefer this voice to the old one. I’m just sad that we won’t get to hear more of this Caboose.

Speaking of Caboose: I love how they had Caboose have a big brain moment. Instead of bringing back Church, something he wanted more than anything, he knew Tex was their best chance against Meta!Tucker. Also, destroying the Memory Unit. Talk about huge character development for Cabooses character. (It’s also possible that this was what Church asked Caboose to do when he was whispering to him in the ship? I need to go back and rewatch it)

Simmons: I know there was already an image or video around showing Simmons with the robotic arm, but I kind of fell off the RvB bus after Zero came out so I missed a bit of content that was floating around on the internet. So me and @yourscientistfriend were tickled pink when we noticed his arm for the first time. It’s small, but nice to know that RT remembered that specific detail about Simmons.

Sarge’s Sacrifice: alright, this one is probably on a lot of peoples Con’s lists but I personally feel like, if any of them were gonna be killed off Sarge was the best because; he died doing what he loved. Fighting. He protected his boys and went down on his own terms. His farewell to Grif definitely hit the hardest. I think deep down we all knew Sarge cared about Grif, but actually hearing him say it was so satisfying.

Memory is the key: the boys sitting around the campfire reminiscing about everything they had been through together in the last 23 years was such a bitter sweet nostalgia blast. The fact that they also got BNL to do a song over it was kind of a nice surprise too.

THE CONS

A lot of characters didn’t really get a chance to shine. It mainly focused on Simmons, Grif, Tucker and Caboose for a majority of the movie. Donut was only there in a thought bubble for a gag, Carolina didn’t even show up till the very end, and Wash didn’t even get to fight, he honestly didn’t really even serve a purpose except to fall off a fucking cliff to get Carolina’s attention and I feel like that wasn’t even necessary. Hell, I think they even forgot about Lopez after that one scene at the beginning. I honestly feel for the Donut and Doc fans. They seriously got screwed over.

“Come With Me”: So. Grimmons didn’t become canon. I am, severely disappointed as I’m sure a majority of the fandom is. I wasn’t expecting a kiss or a make-out section or anything that extreme. But I feel after all these years of teasing us they could have given us SOMETHING.

Tucker Trauma: As I said in the Pro’s, I loved the set up they did with Tucker and the fragments. However, what I didn’t like was how they didn’t address the trauma Tucker went through with them controlling him. They forced him to kill innocent people, attack his friends and mentally tortured him in order to get him to cooperate or wear him down enough to take control. But after they remove the fragments, he’s just ok now? Back to his regular bow chika bow wow self? Don’t get me wrong, like with many of my other cons I realize that a lot of things had to be scrapped or cut because of time and that because Season 19 had to be turned into a movie instead of a full blown season they couldn’t properly address a lot that they probably wanted to. But I wish we could have at least got something along the lines of Wash taking Tucker back with him to get physically and mentally checked out.

Also, wtf is up with Grif just up and leaving. I know Season 15-17 was retconned (update: they weren’t retconned) but damn man, Grif really doesn’t care about any of them? Even after the whole reminiscing scene? It just feels out of character for him. I feel like after everything was said and done he would have taken those papers and shot them or something. Said something about how someone’s gotta give the new leader of the reds a hard time, said something about not leaving till he figure out why they were there!?  Anything than whatever the hell that was.

Thing’s I’m sad will never happen now that Red vs Blue is officially over:

More time with Locus’s character as well as character development and redemption (as well as possibly becoming one of the Reds and Blues)

Grimmons

Simmons’s getting an arc that better fleshes out his character and would give us more background into his history (I mean come on. From the bits and pieces we got over the seasons, it’s very clear Simmons’s had a shitty past. Yes, I’m still mad that his labyrinth was turned into a alien probing joke)

Never seeing an actual conclusion to the fight at the end of Season 13. (I get they wanted to let the fans play around with ideas on what happened but it still bugs me).

Overall, it was an ending. And probably the most decent one we could have gotten considering everything that was going on. A lot of other shows didn’t even get that. So I honestly can’t complain too much. They also deliberately left the ending pretty open so the fandom could easily write their own ending if they wanted to which is awesome of them.

so. Rooster teeth is gone now. Thoughts?

That's both kind of a shock, but also unfortunately not surprising. I haven't really been "in the loop" regarding Rooster Teeth as a whole thing like other people online (I literally never knew anything they did outside of RVB 10+ years ago, except for hearing people vaguely talk about RWBY and Gen:Lock, and even then, I only really saw RVB to begin with because a friend had borrowed the DVDs from their older bro, who had borrowed them from a friend of his). I only randomly remembered RVB was a thing a couple years ago, and then it took over my brain. THEN, one of the more recent incidents of how RT mistreats employees was brought up, and while a lot of people were (sadly) used to hearing about that, I was not aware of previous situations, and it honestly made me very upset. I wrote a whole thing about that, which nobody "important" really saw, because I'm not important myself, but this new situation makes me feel more of the same...

It is awful that so many problems went on for so long, a LOT of people got hurt through working there over the years. They all deserved to be treated better. Being in a bad situation like that can mess up your whole life. That kind of thing also hurts how people work, and surprise-surprise, that hurts WHERE they work. You can't mistreat employees over and over, then turn around and give the fans the equivalent of a slap in the face when it comes to letting them actually enjoy the content, and expect everything to just work out OK. I am genuinely sad that yet another thing is getting shut down; it happens so often, with different studios/creative teams, and it would be nice to actually see a group recognize what their problems have been, make an actual effort to IMPROVE, and continue to exist. I hope all the creative people involved who have been working hard don't just get thrown on the wayside, but it is so difficult to find any stability in the entire entertainment business world right now. There were a LOT of problems at RT regarding how employees were treated, and that includes so MANY people, but there is also a vast amount of problems at just about every creative workplace (and this has been going on for more than a decade). Almost nothing survives, except a handful of companies who basically just "eat" up smaller ones, and have the money to fail or lose money over and over again, and not worry. Who cares if they shut down 10 other studios and end 50 projects that were almost finished? They still have their money. It is also just honestly WEIRD how many different companies keep making the same mistakes with how they offer content to the fans (limiting availability, not even letting people buy the stuff they want to buy, etc. RT has gotten a lot of hate for recent stuff with their online videos, but availability is a whole problem with all kinds of media; Disney won't let you watch it's own movies, Nintendo won't let you play it's own games; it's STUPID), and then being surprised it isn't working. Stop shooting yourselves in the foot. Stop doubling-down on the same nonsense. It isn't WORKING.

Again, it would have been nice to see a negative situation actually be IMPROVED. Maybe that is naively hopeful of me, but I'm also not exactly surprised. I'm just sorry so many people worked on so many different projects, with all their passion, talent, and effort, got mistreated, and it is now all being thrown away. It is just plain sad that so much can go wrong for entirely too many years, and then it just ends without anything being fixed. "Well it sucked, but now it's dead"- it didn't HAVE to suck, and it didn't HAVE to die. I wish it had been better from the beginning, and I wish that things could have gone better throughout. I hope all the creative people are able to keep living their lives and find themselves in workplaces where they can be safe (for their own emotional/mental health, and in terms of making enough money to actually live).

It's actually kind of sad. Not the shutdown thing, but how I'm not even the least bit sad by it.

I met some of my best friends through RT's content, one of whom I now live with and one of whom moved up to my state and is now a bus ride away. I've still got RT posters up in my apartment, and old merchandise I just haven't bothered to part with yet. Most of my old fanfics are from RT shows, with my longest fic being an RvB one.

I should feel SOME sense of sadness, but my reaction is mostly just 'Finally.' I love the people I've met through it, I love what I've created as a result of being in the fandoms I was in.

But hearing about the closure of the studio and having my first reaction be 'Finally' with absolutely ZERO sadness behind it? ...Honestly that in itself makes me a little sad.

But seriously, fuck RT. Glad I was able to make some good stuff during my time in the fandom, glad I've gotten to know so many important people in my life. But I know I've moved on if hearing about their closure doesn't bring me an OUNCE of sadness, outside of a 'That sucks for the employees' and that's it.

“I dropped my popcorn as soon as Basalt Assault started, and I wasn’t even sad! The game was worth dropping my popcorn tenfold. In fact, I’m gonna go home, make some popcorn, and drop it on the floor in *honour* of the game.” 

“I was working in the Entity the day of the event so I couldn’t watch it. But I kept hearing bang after bang outside the window. It was terrifying, but invigorating. It’s impressive how an event can make you excited even if you’re not watching it.”

Well it certainly seems like people like these games and the Charity event as a whole! I certainly do and I’m glad everyone came around to help with organising and helping the event to happen.

Weekly Weather Report

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to report the weather how we typically do, however you’ll be pleased to know this week we here at The Overseer offer you an indepth look on the weather in a basement! 

Thursday - Basement is expected to be damp in the morning, dew is likely to seep through the cracks in the ceiling. Hopes are high it will dry up during the day so we don’t soil our socks… again. High is estimated to be a cool 5C down here thanks to the air conditioner we were so kindly provided. 

Friday - It continues to be damp in the basement, luckily today there appears to be minimal leakage from the upper floors. However the air conditioner is either broken or has been unplugged, leaving us at a miserable 20C temperature throughout the day.

Saturday - As the days pass I would like to humbly suggest that whoever kidnapped us get someone down here to look at their basement, as there is a lot of leakage due to the rain today. With a high of 17C, we are in dire need of more buckets.

Sunday - Rain continues into the morning and fills the basement to about waist level for most of us. Good news is the air conditioner is back on and gives us a lovely breeze and a high of 10C.

Monday - False alarm, air conditioner was broken by the flooding. While the rain has stopped, what replaced it isn’t much better. It’s rather dry in the basement if you ignore the flood, and we have a high of 30C.

Tuesday - Flood is mostly gone today thanks to the work of everyone tossing buckets out the small window we have. Sun appears to be out, the conditioner continues to be broken, and it is a high of 34C, hopefully that will help dry off our clothes.

Wednesday - It did not help dry off our clothes. Instead they smell rather musty, no one is amused. Air conditioner continues to be broken, skies continue to be clear, and we have a high of 40C today. 0/10 would not recommend staying in the basement.

Editor's Note: Found these scraps of paper lying in my office along with the other articles. Not sure if I'm supposed to print these too but at this point I'm too afraid to ask. At the back of one piece of paper it says 'Astrology Corner'

Rooster Teeth is shutting down. What does this mean for their content, and could RT be saved?

So like many other people, I learned that Rooster Teeth is being shut down by Warner Bros. This was basically my reaction to learning about this:

This news is even worse because last year Rooster Teeth got a second wind and we got some new content AND news about upcoming stuff like one more final season of Red vs. Blue that would have retconned some of the last weirder seasons, and even Camp Camp coming back. Does this mean those projects are now cancelled? Can we at least get that Red vs. Blue season?

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR DEATH BATTLE!?!?!?!?!

Recently I've been seeing a lot of people being annoyed with Warner Bros. for cancelling that Wile E. Coyote vs. ACME movie and now with this happening, there is going to be a lot more of that going around.

While sad, I am curious if its possible for Rooster Teeth to become an independent company, and continue to work on stuff without Warner Bros. Could they reupload things to Youtube and other services (like having Red vs. Blue episodes on Youtube again) or does Warner Bros. have something that would prevent them from doing this?

With this and some other entertainment news I just learned and will talk about later, things have been a bummer for the various fields of entertainment. I really hope the workers effected by this will recover soon, and maybe at least some good could happen like Death Battle being spared somehow, or at least getting the last Red vs. Blue season out.

If anyone hears any good news from this related to Death Battle or Red vs. Blue, let me know.

Alright now that the joke is done, I'm gonna toss my brief thoughts on Rooster Teeth from my main blog:

I haven't really been into RT things or RWBY since Volume 4-5 but it's still sad to hear them being destroyed. There's a small soft spot I do have because after all, this blog is about one of the villains getting thrown into another world and going through the journey of being a hero. Even if it's weird as hell for her.

But in the meantime, no, this blog won't go anywhere as I am working on a post explaining Cinder's feelings and processes from early MSQ to Pre-Titan.

actually used r*ddit for the first time in a thousand years just to comfort a self proclaimed 'grown ass man' regarding his feelings about feeling lost and grieving over the death of RT.

I usually stay away from commenting on public forums and the like, but he was clearly confused and didn't understand why he was hurting and it was frustrating him. it genuinely makes me so sad that a lot of cis men deeply struggle with allowing themselves to feel sadness if it doesn't directly relate to someone close to them dying.

and so I kind of said as much. told him that just because RT wasn't a real human doesn't mean that the decades of comfort it brought him didn't matter. that the brain doesn't differentiate between the loss of a person vs. the loss of something intangible that was still incredibly important.

told him to give himself the grace to grieve and be sad that something he loved was ending and that he wasn't the only one feeling that way. and surprisingly he replied and said he really needed to hear that, as did a couple of other dudes. which made me glad I said something. it sucks that they feel like they need permission or a reason to feel hurt/grief tho

there's definitely a strangeness to feeling grief over the end of media. but if it impacted your life for the better, then of course you're going to feel sad and lost. especially from folks you've been watching the better part of two decades.

One thing about the blm controversy is that people fail to realise that the looter in that video was WHITE. White looters were absolutely causing chaos and giving the movement a bad name. There was no reason for them to be looting. Their lives were not in danger. It's like people didn't even watch the video or they have no critical thinking skills. It also makes the claim that evan is "racist" entirely stupid.

yeah, the sad reality is that the people acting most outraged on twitter wouldn’t even care - they never gave a damn about context or intentions. nor did they care how fucking weird and offensive it was/is to bunch BLM protestors in with the opportunistic LOOTERS who behaved in a way that distracted and pulled attention away from the messaging people actually needed to hear and be discussing. those who pretend, still today, to be offended over evan’s accidental RT are not serious, they’re just pretending to be outraged and morally superior when it really is just ridiculous.

She remembers what happened at Bunnyfarm... Everyone else that got hurt including her own family

A white man was next to her and scared her. Sophie is haunted by memories of Bunnyfarm, where so many people were killed, including her own family. She is startled by the appearance of a mysterious white man, and it triggers her fear. "Who are you?" Sophie said, Bon got close to her and leaned forward "my n am e is B on" he said "I do n't t hi nk we've me t be fore" "Bon" said "b ut" he trailed off "yo ur moth er said so mu ch abo t you" Bob tried to to place his hand on her check and backed away Sophie remains alert and doesn't let "Bon" get too close. She looks puzzled as he trails off, and says, "My mother did?" "Bon" tries to place his hand on her cheek, but she pulls away. "Y es". She seems surprised with Bon's assertion, and doesn't quite believe him. "What did she say?" She asks. Bon gets a little closer and tries to place his hand on her cheek again, but she pulls away just like before. This time, he doesn't try to stop her. "T hat y ou we r e specia l, tha t y ou wer e her on ly chi ld." Bon says gently.

She glared at "Bon" "I had two other siblings, Edd and Molly, I was never an only child" "I th in k she me ant tha t y ou wer e her specia l chi ld." "Bon" says sympathetically. "She loved you ve ry, ve ry mu ch." Sophie remains silent, taking in "Bon's" words. A hint of sadness crosses her face as she remembers her family. "My mother loved me very much..." she repeats softly. 

"Bon" tries to grab Sophie's hand while she resists. He seems to be trying to gain her trust, but she's not letting him get close to her. "Le t me ta ke yo u to h er," "Bon" says earnestly once again, "S he wa nts to se e y ou"

He makes one more attempt to grab her hand, but she pulls away again. "Wait..." Sophie says once more, "Your name sounds familiar..." "My n ame is no t Im porta nt r igh t no w de ar" "Bon" said as he looked at her "yo ur m o ther is wor ried" Sophie looked at him "who are you"

"Bon's" voice had a certain kindness to it, but even so, something about him made Sophie feel uneasy. She tried to pull her hand away again, but Bon grabbed it before she could. "Do n't be af raid," he said softly, "I'm n ot goi ng to hu rt y ou."

"Why should I trust you?" Sophie said with a mixture of anger and fear in her voice, "I don't even know who you are." "I'm j ust he re to he lp," Bon said gently, "Yo ur mo th er se nt me to fin d y ou. S he wa nts u s to go ba ck-"

She looked back at "Bon" and he turned into the rabbit from Bunnyfarm

"-S he wa nts to s ee y ou."

Sophie recoiled in fear as "Bon" transforms into the dreaded rabbit from Bunnyfarm. The memories of that fateful incident came flooding back, and she felt the same terror she felt that day. But a creeping doubt began to set in, could this actually be true? Could her mother actually be alive? Or was this some sort of sick, twisted joke? "You- you killed innocent people including my mother, why!" The rabbit remained silent, not willing to respond to Sophie's accusations. He just stared at her, his face conveying no emotion whatsoever. It was as if he was waiting for her to make the next move. Sophie was shaking with anger and fear, her heart racing and her body aching from the adrenaline. In a moment of rage, she lunged forward to attack the rabbit, but he ducked out of the way easily and quickly. "Oh S oph ie" Bon said

Sophie froze, hearing her name in the rabbit's voice. Something about it sent chills down her spine. "H-how do you know my name?" She asked, her voice shaky with fear. The rabbit didn't respond, just smiled back at her chillingly. The rabbit took a step towards her, his sharp teeth and piercing eyes making her recoil in fear. "I kn ow a l ot of th ings, my de ar." He said, his voice menacingly calm. Sophie felt trapped, like a deer in the headlights. "D on't be afr aid," The rabbit continued, "I'm not go ing to h urt yo u..."

Sophie stayed frozen. She was terrified, but the rabbit's tone made her feel slightly emboldened. Maybe she could reason with him, or at least figure out what he wanted. "What do you want from me?" She asked, her voice still trembling. "J ust to s ee yo ur m oth er." The rabbit calmly replied, "Sh e wa nts to s ee yo u to o, and s he's wa itin g for yo u." People with masks came into view, a sheep, a clown, a purple rabbit, and a musician "a re n't th ey bea utif ul So ph ie" Sophie felt her heart sink as the masks appeared, knowing that those were the faces of the other victims of Bunnyfarm. It was a horrifying sight, and reminded her of their tragic fates. She wanted to look away, but at the same time she couldn't help but stare at the masks. "Why are you showing me this?" She asked the rabbit.

"Y ou ca n't make an om elett e, wit ho ut br eak ing a f ew eg gs" "Bon" said as he grabbed her arm, Sophie flinched in pain as Bon grabbed her arm, but she didn't try to pull away. She didn't want to make him angry. "What do you mean?" She asked nervously. Sophie struggled to understand what Bon was saying. She wanted to fight back, but he had a firm grip on her arm. And before she knew it, she was surrounded by the masks - the other victims of Bunnyfarm. The sight of the masks triggered a wave of anger within her, and she tried to pull away from Bon's grip again, but he wouldn't let go. She pulled hard, but he held fast and she just couldn't get free.

In a sudden burst of anger, Sophie twisted her arm hard, causing Bon to let go. She swung at Bon, but he was quick and dodged just in time. He lunged forward and grabbed her arm again, but this time she was prepared. She kicked Bon in the stomach, knocking the breath out of him and allowing her to spin away. Sophie stood her ground, determined to fight. She glared at Bon, waiting for his next move. Bon stared back at her, his expression unchanged. He lunged again, this time in a lower stance. He got close quickly, looking to grab her again. Sophie saw this coming and stepped back quickly, dodging his grab and landing another powerful kick to his stomach. Bon backed away, not wanting to get within kicking range again. He held his arms out wide, inviting her to come at him. Sophie saw this as a challenge and charged forward, swinging a powerful punch at his face. Bon saw this coming and caught her punch, flipping her onto her back and slamming her hard onto the ground.

"My h ead, m y rul es" "Bon" said then he twisted her arm causing her to yell "wh at a p ity" he said then dropped her "I th oug ht you wo uld be mor e of a fi ght" Sophie moaned in pain as her arm was twisted, her body aching from the pain of the fall. She couldn't move her arm at all, it sounded like it was broken. She glared at Bon with a mixture of anger and fear, waiting for whatever he would do with her next. "Yo u're mu ch we ak er th an I thoug ht." Bon said with a cold, calm, and almost amused tone. "I th ough t yo u'd pu t up a b igge r fi ght, bu t, y ou ca n't eve n mov e yo ur ar m no w" He said, as he stood over her. "Wh ere's you r stre ng th, S oph ie?" He mocked. Sophie groaned as her arm ached severely, causing her to feel even more anger. She glared up at Bon, and even though she couldn't move her arm, she still wanted to fight back. Sophie screamed in pain as Bon's foot was pressed firmly against her back, pinning her down to the ground. She was powerless and couldn't move a single inch. She was scared, wondering what Bon was doing and what he was going to do to her next.

"P oor litt le Sop hie" Bon said "yo u ca n't eve n fi ght" Sophie screamed when she felt her back snap, the pain of it was like nothing she had ever felt before. She wailed in agony and couldn't move, unable to do anything to stop it. Bon kept his foot planted on her back, preventing her from moving in any way. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't move a single inch. The agony of her back was so immense that it made her unable to think or speak, she couldn't even form a complete sentence. Bon walked away from what he did and left Sophie there to slowly rot

Watching the final stream and I wanted to write out a personal thanks to EVERYONE at Rooster Teeth as i sit here in tears, gently clutching my RvB book and Sarge minifig, because without RT I'm not sure how I'd of turned out...

I first found out about Rooster Teeth when I stumbled upon Red vs Blue s9's trailer in 2014. I sat down one day and binged all the content in its entirety and was instantly hooked. Life was hard, four years previous I'd lost my mum to cancer, I struggled even then with it and I'd been on a mental decline since, I was barely happy, didn't leave my house, and life was full of therapy and meds. But Red vs Blue made me laugh, and through it I discovered Achievement Hunter, the RT Podcast, RWBY, and I'm sure a bunch of stuff I haven't watched in a long time. Rooster Teeth helped me find happiness in a time I was struggling and helped me onto the path to getting better.

Since then I've gotten better, and discovered much about myself. And this (in the least corporate way) family of people have impacted me so much, I took a character's name as one of my own (Dexter), I still have merch in my room and I continue to put on the Podcasts or Let's Plays while I draw. Hearing the news of Rooster Teeth shutting down hit like a gut punch,I knew they were going to crumple soon, but being taken out by Warner Bros feels like a kick in the teeth. RvB Restoration's on the horizon and final live stream was today and my tears are bittersweet sadness. It was a bucket list item to go to RTX one day, and while that won't happen seeing all the stories of other peoples trips makes me so incredibly happy. EVERYONE at this company helped myself and so many other people's lives.

Thank you Rooster Teeth, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for every memory and every laugh. I would say goodbye, but I won't, because as long as I don't... you just aren't here right now. ❤️💙

How are you doing with the ending of the show?

I don't care really the show has ended for myself per say, I kind of assumed always the ending would be lackluster at best but I do feel bad for the fans, they've been denied an ending to a show they put a lot of love to and as someone who has had multiple shows canceled suddenly it sucks. On the other hand, RT was a toxic and harmful company. So many people have been hurt while employed their and that is not okay. I am not at all sad to see RT go, but I do feel bad for all of the employees who are suddenly out of work and having to scramble to find new jobs while most likely working under insane crunch and if they don't find new work they'll have to deal with unemployment which I also know is absolute hell.

Their is also the fact that while RT was a bad company that should have been shut down....the way WB went about it is shady AF. I guess what I mean to say is a lot of things can be true at once and their aren't really any winners in this scenario. If someone buys out RW/BY I really hope they don't bring on the old writing team. I can't really say if they care about the show or not but with how toxic and harmful they have been it's just a recipe for disaster to bring them back on with whoever takes over (if anyone).

A part of me might like seeing a new company take over the IP and give it a reboot and fix the many many problems that have been piling up but I am not sure a company that takes over would even try or if they'll just pump out a volume 10 and beyond and stretch it out even more to justify buying it which would not help the many issues the current canon has. But also a reboot might not even fix the issues really and just reboot to again justify buying it in the first place.

Regardless of what happens I'll keep working on my fanfics and other things because I am still attached to the characters but I am morbidly curious as to what happens next.
