Do you need more proof that S4 is fucking fake? And more likely a drug induced coma fever dream?

Remember E? The woman on the bus that "Eurus" pretended to be and had a text affair with John? How did she give John her number? Written on a piece of paper. And what was her number?

I always wondered if there was a signiificance to this phone number. I looked for meta on this but never found a one with proper proofs, forgive me if I overlooked any and please let me know if so. As is with this ridiculous show that even after re-watching it for the 143rd time, I still get baffled at things I didn't notice before!

E was sitting across from John on the other side of the aisle on the bus. And it seemed she already had the number written down the way she is looking at the piece of paper, she probably just wrote Exx at the bus stop scene. John contemplated throwing her number in the bin but then decided to keep it after all.

What does this tell me? A clear indication that S4 is an amalgamation of what THoB is essentially all about - re-written memories due to childhood trauma, drug induced hallucinations, doing therapy (Sherlock's recurring dream), on the verge of suicide, not knowing what's real and what's not, betrayed by someone close - we know what Henry Knight saw was never real, the HOUND was never real. We also know Henry Knight is a Sherlock mirror.

If you notice the phone number screen grab from THoB, the 3rd last and 2nd last number seem to "1 and 5" that is rewritten by Henry, the last number is not visible to us. The last three numbers on E's number is "552".

some people in this fandom - like myself - are in recovery and it really stings to see people putting drug addiction in itself on blast.

yes, what happened didn’t have to happen the way it did… there were a ton of inconsistencies and i don’t completely understand the motivations there. the writers pretty much defined klaus by his addiction with the way everything unfolded - which is very wrong on their part.

but when choosing your words, please understand that being an addict in itself is not a flaw in character. there are so many worse things a person can be - even if they do, tragically, regress. even if they do hit rock bottom and face dangerous repercussions.

one of the few parts of s4 i appreciated was allison explaining to claire that klaus is very sick. addiction is an illness and it can come back to haunt you at any time.

convinced that when mike and will both tell each other about how “it’s been a year, mike!” and “the truth is is the last year has been weird” isn’t in the context of talking only about the byers move to california. considering the byers haven’t lived in california for a year, then obviously they aren’t only talking about the move. you know what has been going on for a year though? mike and el dating.

mike and el started dating in season 2 at the snowball dance in december of 1984 and we catch up with their relationship in season 4 in march of 1986. this is when mike and will both bring up how the last year has been weird and they have felt disconnected from each other. i know we have theories on time being weird and everything, but i don’t think the use of the word “year” is to hint at a screwed up timeline, but to hint that el and mike’s relationship for the past year has been a problem between mike and will’s friendship and the relationship they have with themselves. they’re both feeling disconnected from each other and in season 3, their rain fight literally shows how el begins to get in between them.

it would make sense for will to feel like mike hasn’t been as connected to him as before because in season 3 he literally expresses that in their argument! will just wants to play d&d and have his friend pay attention to him, but mike is too focused on el. mike then mentions in season 4 when they’re talking that he was “too focused on el” and relates that as a contribution as to why things have been weird between him and will. i say that throughout the past year for mike he feels it’s been weird not only because within that space of time will moved, but because he realizes that he is in fact in love with will, or at least acknowledges that what he feels for will is not what he feels for el. this explains why he wouldn’t really call or write to will, but spent most of his time writing el because that was a way for him to convince himself that he is attracted to el. hence why when will questions mike on him not writing him, mike’s immediate defense is “we’re friends. we’re friends”. just like when will calls out mike on not being a good friend and only focusing on el, mike hits him with the “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”. like bro, your responses have absolutely nothing to do with what will is trying to communicate to you!! anyways, the problem now is that el catches on to how he actually feels because he writes “from, mike” instead of “love, mike”. he then can’t even defend why he does it except for telling el she’s “ridiculous” and that “mouth breathers” are the problem. once again, mike is not addressing the issue at hand.

so yeah, mike and will express that their relationship has been disconnected and weird for a year, not because of only the move to california, but because mike being in love with will while dating el is not working for him and el, therefore, his actions then affect will and their friendship.

Him playing dumb to get the element of surprise even though both he and Will should totally know who Bob, Jim, and Owens are? The look on “Will”’s face and the tone of his voice when he says “my friend…Mike…” the HenwardFlayer was NOT thrilled that Mike was there. Him using Will as an ultimatum of “either you’re going to painfully and torturously kill this boy or you’re going to allow me to have my way, and if you kill him like that then you’ll be exposing yourselves as ‘deserving’ a violent murder en masse”? The way that mirrors El, Kali, and Ray Caroll with his daughters? “They hurt me. That upset him. They shouldn’t have done that” QUAKING!!!!!!! QUAKING!!!!! “It wants to kill. Not me, everyone else.” BOY IF YOU DONT—terrifying. The way he sets the tunnels trap immediately after Owens and the group hurt Will/the Hive, knowing full well that the group is still fully trusting of Will because they think he’s just losing memories, not that he’s being possessed? Henward snapped right back. Took full advantage of his advantages. Cause!! And Fucking Effect!! Insane to me!! He really said “Oh? You wanna play games? Let’s fucking play, old man.” AND THEN STUCK TO IT. BRO IS TENACIOUS AS HELL!!

Like God DAMN!! He’s a well-crafted villain who’s so incredibly calculated and intelligent while also being extremely complex with a horrifyingly tragic backstory to support his insane behavior. I’m foaming at the MOUTH Duffers you have done So Well.

Funny the difference in Luke from the pap pictures yesterday to the fan picture today. Something is old?

MORE INSANE THINGS ABOUT THE VR GAME

Vecna tries to get into all of the boys’ minds but he’s unsuccessful except with Will.

He tries to taunt Mike by saying to him that it’s his fault that El is gone but this gets blocked out by Mike’s happy place/memory and it’s of him playing D&D. There’s a rainbow dice basically wiping Vecna away in that sequence lmao…and you also hear Will’s voice. (Some people have already posted about it in the tag so I won’t add pics).

The part about the happy place/memory thing is super interesting because the writers decided to make Lucas’ happy place a memory of him and Max at the movies, even tho atp in the story they have not met. It’s set pre S2….which makes you wonder why they couldn’t make Mike’s happiest memory be one with El…

Another insane sequence is the moment where Will breaks out of Vecna’s vision…Will got a nosebleed in the real world and Mike is wiping the blood off his nose, and Will focuses on this to get out of Vecna’s hold and walk into that moment, just like Max did in S4. There’s a few interesting moments of dialogue from that sequence because as this is happening Vecna keeps taunting Will in the background. Lemme share some interesting screenshots.

The first is this quote from Vecna saying that through Will he will get into his friends’ minds…with Mike being heavily focused on….

This one is just crazy…Vecna saying “you’ll finally matter to someone, Will” and Mike’s all up on the screen lol

And this one is the most insane one imo. It’s the end of the sequence with Will coming back to himself, and Vecna is bothered that his friends (cough Mike) brought him back. At the same time he says “you are alone” Mike is asking him if he’s okay, basically proving Vecna wrong.

And that’s what he’s always been for Will, he’s always pulling him out of all his episodes, has always been his light.

I really don’t think Vecna is anticipating queer love to save the day but….lol

One last thing I want to mention if that even tho the game takes place pre S2, the characters are wearing clothes from all seasons, Lucas is able to see Max in a memory before he’s even met her, and Mike literally says to Will at one point “you look like a time traveller”

So I think time fuckery is basically a given in S5, be it inter dimensional time travel or whatever people wanna call it lol.

As for the canonicity of the game, they consulted Paul Dichter, who was a co-writer on a few episodes, including Will the Wise and Dear Billy. Make of that what you will.

This is practically anti byler theory, but nvm

So, Dimitri has a son named Mikhail, which is russian version of name Michael, Mike

So, people were just saying that instead of Mike, Will will end up with Mikhail(who’s technically Mike bc of the name, yk)

These theories aren’t the same one, but it’s basically the same concept, ig

The basic thing is, that Mike wrote a letter to Will(singed Love, Mike)

In pocketgate, Mike has the letter saved in his triangle pocket, bc in st, characters many times has letters, that were important to them, in their left pocket(above the heart), for example Hopper and El(Hopper’s heart-to-heart), Jonathan(acceptance letter to college) etc.

And he would just take it out in the middle of confession or sth

basically, old coca colla is mileven, new coke is byler. it contains some of the old ingredients(mike), and new ones too(will). not everyone likes(bc its gay ship). and when you look at scenes with can of new coke, it’s many times symbolizing byler vs. milkvan

one of my favorite new coke theory examples is this: in s3, after el gets attacked by the flesh monster, she tries to crash a can(but she doesn’t have her powers, so she can’t). this is a can of new coke(byler) and she can’t crush that/destroy it. and in this scene, we get a flashback to the lab, where she crushes aka destroys regular coke(mileven)
