It's pretty obvious im a big merthur fan, but i need it known that does NOT make me a hater of arthur and gwen's relationship/romance. Although the writing in the later seasons disapoints me, its impossible to hate gwen. LOOK. LOOK HOW CUTE SHE IS.

Travelers isn't my favorite episode. I really really don't like Larin, but it does have some of Sheppard's more iconic faces. They always make me laugh.

Tabula Rasa is one of those episodes that I love, but seem to forget that I love it until I rewatch it. I love Teyla and Ronon being the ones who save Atlantis. I love the military guys trying to follow orders they don't remember anymore. They're just trying. I love the scientists coming up with an escape plan. But most of all I love Ronon trying to reach through the memory loss to Sheppard and then shooting him. Also, I love Sheppard's plan to make sure they can return even if Lorne doesn't recognize him.

Missing while being a significant plot point episode isn't one of my favorites, but I appreciate getting to know Keller more, and it shows Teyla's more nurturing side rising up. I love how Teyla grows through the rest of Season 4 and into 5. She's not just a warrior woman, a leader, and the calm of the team. She's now finding out that she's also a mother. I love that they let her wrestle with that new responsibility without making her always right, a bump on a log, and acknowledging that she can't always be in the strike force anymore. I know none of that is in this episode, but I felt like she nurtured Keller, giving her strength and resolve and courage.

The Seer is great because we get Todd back. Yay Todd! And Woolsey who is ridiculous. I love that Todd has a sense of humor. I love that he's always playing some sort of chess game. I always find it sad that his faithful men die at the hands of other Wraith. I love that Todd sought out Sheppard. I love Keller in her quiet way making sure they weren't trying to turn the Seer into a science experiment. I love Sheppard having to remind Sam to do what she needs to do regardless of the visions. I love him in the chair ready to defend Atlantis. I love Sam not letting Woolsey's fear put them in jeopardy. He has yet to trust the team and Atlantis, but he will. I love dealing with the idea of seeing the future and how it can help or hinder depending upon how dependent you are on it.

I'm watching s4e5 right now and so far my biggest take away from this episode is that someone thought it would be funny to manhandle Martin Short, and they were right hahahaha. First it was helping him off of the window ledge to spare his expensive knees, then it was the movie director brother sister/ maybe murderer fully grappling him from behind to lift and place him on his mark.
I also appreciate the delightful bout of physical comedy including sliding down a railing and the implied adventure in the city and accidental bird violence.
I know part of it was to set up revealing how physically fit the brother sister director maybe murderer is, but they could have just done that, they didn't have to do all the other fun stuff they did throughout the episode the way they did it, and I for one am grateful lol.

I just love Eliza and Patrick's energy, they're almost like an old married couple. I could really ship them if the show wasn't called Miss Scarlet and the Duke 😔

merlin: Off again? Another week in the wilderness?
merlin: ...Eating weird animals. Being eaten by weird animals.
merlin: No hot water and no baths.
merlin: This will be the last time either of us get to sleep in a proper bed!
arthur: Merlin, i'm prepared to face all manner of horrors in this world, but if you think i'm sharing this bed with you-
merlin: *nervous laugh* what?! no! thats not what i meant-

Idk if anyone else has pointed this out but this season has 4 instances of duets where one person wrote the song and their counterpart jumps in by reading the song:
Gina writes a song, Ricky jumps in
Ashlyn writes a song, Maddox jumps in
Seb writes a song, Carlos jumps in
These are all explicitly romantic pairings then:
EJ writes a song, Ricky jumps in
I can’t look at this pattern and not think that it wasn’t intentional. They knew exactly what they’re doing right??

After seeing episode 7 scripted and directed in a competent manner I am once again (naively?) optimistic that episode 8 won’t be a shitshow. I mean an emotional shitshow maybe, but not a how-are-professionals-paid-to-script-this-so-sloppily shitshow.
Come on, season 4. You’ve got this. You’re thiiiiis close to being better than season 3. Just don’t do something idiotic at the finish line. Like season 3 did, ahem.
