the usage of the lyrics “i don't know what you mean to me, but i wanna turn you on, turn you up, figure it out - i wanna take you on” right after carmy's apology to sydney is so serious to me and i wish we talked about it more. i think it's one of the only times where we get an explicit idea of what carmy thinks of syd in a romantic context and i fucking LIVE for it the lighting, the acting, the attempted phone call, the ambiguity of that entire scene to confuse us on whether or not he's thinking about sydney or if he's thinking about claire in the lyrics - all of it is so so so fucking scrumptious AHHH i love that shit i love this show so much

Peabody and Sherman Robespierre has me dying because it’s so wrong in every way—but hilarious. I’m thinking though how delightfully refreshing it would be if mainstream media did their research and portrayed a caricature of Robespierre that’s somewhat accurate to who he was. Imagine an over exaggeration of that? If you’re gonna make fun of the guy at least get it right!

I mean- one of the key features he was mocked over in propaganda during the time HE LIVED was his trumpet nose (which I don’t think was very bad. Meatcanyon anyone?) I’m surprised the character designers for Peabody and Sherman didn’t capitalize on this fact.

I also have no idea why they gave him a hooked nose but I didn’t mind in the end. It was funny. I reckon the producers read a contemporary account of Max that roughly said he had a flattened look to him without considering his side profile or that ‘look’ isn’t ‘is’

BUT historical accuracy isn’t the aim of the film—still that won’t stop me.

dan is high key a gym rat it’s not even funny! phil doesn’t like to exercise a lot unless it’s running on the treadmill or using the elliptical because it’s ‘lazy’ exercise (for lack of a better term) so he can turn his brain off and watch real housewives while exercising. dan has been exercising for ages. he’s been running pretty regularly i believe for years and phil’s tried joining him on runs a couple of times when phil considers taking up running but it never works out because phil tries talking a lot. dan goes to cycling classes and lifts weights and i’m sure does more but the guy is fit. he is unironically a gym bro drinking his protein shakes going on runs and phil is supporting from the sidelines because of his delicate nature.

i never thought about it like this until they started talking about it, but yeah you're absolutely right, he is kind of a gym bro, the signs were all there lol. i need him to be able to transport phil everywhere, he shouldn't be walking tbh you wouldn't make god walk

More Rylan artwork by Norles! I’ve seen the first one on Pinterest (uncredited, naturally) but only the first version where Ryan is very pale. The artist actually listened to feedback and fixed his skin tone which I really appreciate, and made this other cute collage style piece of them in an 80’s AU too. My phone wasn’t able to translate most of it but apparently Kaitlyn is betting against Dylan at baseball and if he loses, Ryan has to go out on a date with her. Do we think 80’s Dylan is as hopeless at sports as contemporary Dylan? 😂
