January 28, 2024

Hayden was shifting on her feet in excitement and yawned a bit as waited in the parking lot for her family to come out of the airport.

Ellen and Jim had been with Quinn and flew with him after his early morning game and Luke flew in from Florida and they all got into Edmonton around the same time.

Obviously they wanted to do a trip for all star break but with Jack being injured and Hayden, Quinn and Jack all having to go to Toronto for all stars it was pointless to travel anywhere else so they were all staying the few days in Edmonton just spending time as a family.

Hayden laughed fondly seeing Luke first as he rushed to her and he dropped his suitcase hugging her so tightly he lifted her feet off the floor.

“I missed you too.” Hayden softly said noticing how hard he was holding her and squeezed him tightly back as Luke set her feet back on the floor.

“Missed you.” Luke mumbled after her, it’s been a month since he has seen her and he really has needed a hug from his sister.

Hayden pressed multiple kisses to his curls before Luke recently let her go and she was swept into a hug by Quinn next.

Quinn and Hayden didn’t need to share any words and just squeeze each other tightly.

Hayden melted into Ellen and Jim’s hugs before they all got into the car and Hayden drove them back to her home.

Jack was a bit emotional seeing all of his family and hugged every once for so long.

Jack got to choose what they were going to do for the rest of the night and he chose to just watch movies.

Luke and Jack stole the spots on each side of Hayden both cuddling her and Quinn shook his head not surprised they stole his Hayden’s cuddles.

The six of them just spent the rest of the nigth day just watching movies.

It was a simple day but a family day all of them needed.

January 28, 2024

Ellen leaned into Jim’s side as everyone got out of the car and they started their hike.

A simple flat hike in the snow and something Jack can do. Archie was already off the leash running in circles around her people.

Ellen watched fondly seeing how Luke will forever be Hayden’s little shadow no matter how old they get. Jack and Hayden will alway act like twins and look at each other and just know what the other is thinking. Hayden will always look up to Quinn for everything and Hayden will always be the one Quinn opens up to.

Ellen may have only birthed her three sons but she will always have four kids and she is so incredibly proud of how amazing siblings they are and how they are all each other’s best friends.

She was so proud of her four kids and she knows Madison and Harrison are just as proud of their four kids.

Hayden laughed throwing her head back as she had her arm linked with Jack as they watched Luke throw a snowball at Quinn and Quinn out a snow ball on top of Luke’s head making Luke shaking his curls out like a dog.

“Haydesssss! Quinn is being mean.” Luke pouted trying to shake out the snow form his curls.

Hayden hummed smiling amused as he walked over to her and she gently brushed out the snow from his curls.

“Thank you favorite sibling.” Luke grinned.

“You say that like not everyone knows.” Quinn deadpanned making Hayden cough hiding her snicker.

“She’s everyone favorite sibling.” Jack said simply and it is true Hayden is the boys favorite and it’s scenting they will always agree on.

Hayden smiled softly sharing a fond look with Quinn as Luke and Jack started bickering like always.

Hayden might not be on a tropical island or even on a vacation at all but getting to be with her family and getting multiple days with all of them, there’s nothing else she would want. It didn’t matter to her where they are as long as she gets to be with her family.

January 31, 2024

Hayden let out a sigh as she walked into her bedroom. They had gotten into Toronto a couple of hours ago for the All Stars.

Hayden still has her parents house in Toronto where she met the Hughes, they were all staying there for a few days.

It was definitely weird being back in this house again and it wasn’t used often and there were times Hayden thought about selling it but it’s where she found her family and she grew up half of her childhood in this house, she knew her parents would’ve kept this house forever so she will keep the house.

Luke knocked on the door and walked into plopping on her bed, “Con is coming right?” Luke asked immediately.

Luke and Connor have only become more and more close especially with them both being rookies together and Hayden knows they talk a lot.

“Yeah he should be here in a little bit.” Hayden answered, she had invited Connor over to her house knowing he got into Toronto today and she hasn’t been able to see him since before his jaw.

Hayden headed into the shower knowing Connor would be fine with Luke and their family when he got here.

Hayden tossed a pair of Wild sweatpants and a black Boston College hoodie on, maybe she has been missing Matt lately.

She tossed her towel on the hamper after scrunching out her hair letting her hair dry in waves and some curls.

Hayden headed into the kitchen seeing Connor talking with everyone.

“Hey.” Hayden spoke up watching Connor immediately turn around he walked right to her hiding his face in her chest clinging to her tightly, Hayden blinked softly hugging him firmly back, “Hey kid.” She felt his shaky breaths and gently rubbed his back.

Connor clung to her not knowing how much he needed a Hayden hug.

Hayden let him hug her for however long he needed and he eventually pulled back and she softly cupped his face looking over his jaw, “Feeling okay?” She asked as if she hasn’t texted him everyday.

Connor smiled as much as he could right now and nodded.

“Good because i have a lot of soft foods you need to try out.” Hayden grinned wrapping an arm around his shoulder knocking he just got cleared two days ago to start eating soft foods so she of course had to buy so many soft foods for him.

February 1, 2024

Hayden snorted as she was texting Matt listening to Jack and surprisingly Quinn ramble ideas to each other on how to get her on their team for the draft.

Hayden was so glad she wasn’t picked as a captain for one of the teams because it is so amusing watching Leon and Connor argue with Jack and Quinn and all through a group chat during the past week.

Hayden smiled at Matt’s last text and shut her phone off tucking her phone in her jeans pocket as she fixed her jacket, she was wearing a pair of blue wide leg jeans, a white ribbed shirt tucked in and a brown leather jacket with a white fur at the end of the sleeves and collar with brown converse.

Hayden got out of the car with Jack and Quinn and they all walked down the red carpet separately.

Hayden spilt off from her brothers as they had to go to a meeting with the other captains.

She ran into Swayman and Oettinger after she did her media and ended up catching up with two of her favorite goalies as they waited for the draft to start.

Hayden changed into her jersey before heading out on the ice and sitting next to Alex DeBrincat, someone she has known for a while now.

Hayden just laughed to herself seeing the proud beam Jack sent her as he headed into the ice, she knew that Jack and Quinn had won the draft and she was even more amused at the annoyed look Leon flashed at Jack.

Hayden and Alex couldn’t help but laugh together as the draft hasn’t started and a lot of the captains didn’t realize their mics were on especially Jack and Quinn’s group.

Hayden shook her head fondly at Quinn and Jack’s proud smiles as Buble called her name. Hayden gave Connor and Leon a shrug as she skated by making them shaking their heads.

“Let’s go baby!” Jack cheered clapping her shoulder as Jesper handed her the red jersey.

Hayden put the jersey on and it was one of the few times she has worn a full red jersey.

Hayden continued to laugh throughout the whole draft hearing Jack and Quinn’s bickering and eventually the drafted was finished and she had mostly all Canucks teamsters.

Hayden truly didn’t care who was on her team because she gets to play with Quinn again.

February 2, 2024

“What?” Hayden asked confused as she walked into the living room and her family were all giving her looks.

“You’re wearing a skirt?” Jack looked confused as it’s rare for Hayden to ever wear a dress or a skirt.

Hayden had a black ankle length silk skirt, black long sleeve and a green blazer with matching green converses.

Hayden just shrugged softly, she has never liked dresses or skirts and would wear them only for her Mom.

“I think it looks great.” Ellen smiled softly, Hayden looks so much like Madison in that outfit.

“She always looks pretty.” Luke just shrugged as he stood up making Hayden smile fondly.

They all headed out of house after and headed to the rink together, Hayden and Quinn headed inside together and to the locker room.

Hayden was sitting her stall waiting for the skills competition to start and it was definitely really cool to get to have her stall next to Quinn’s even if it’s bittersweet.

Hayden had her hair in her french braids and put the all stars beanie on before heading onto the ice.

She waved crowd as she skated to the seats and sat down in between Quinn and Austin.

Hayden cheered as Connor was announced and he skated out making him flash her a shy smile as he came over to her and she made room next to her for him.

Hayden had declined doing the fastest skater just genuinely not wanting to do it and she’s not know for a hard shot so her first event was one timers.

Hayden got up slipping her gloves on as she skater over and she gave a reassuring nod to Connor as he got ready for passes.

Hayden did the best in the one timer and gave Connor a proud nudge as they sat together.

Hayden ended up getting second in all of the competition and was totally fine with that.

Jack and Luke had a late fight so Hayden wanted to spend the rest of the afternoon with them before Jim took them to the airport.

Hayden walked into the room and saw Jack putting his last things in his bags and she helped him close up his suitcase and sat down next to him on the bed.

“Nervous?” Hayden said knowingly knowing he would be playing again soon even if he’s not hundred percent.

Jack nodded fiddling with her bracelet.

“Play your game like you always do and enjoy playing, just remember don’t push too far.” Hayden softly told him, she’s worried about his shoulder.

Jack let out a sigh feeling better at her words and nodded, “I promise.”

They stood up and gently hugged each h other before Hayden helped Jack bring his bags down to the front door.

Hayden saw the sad look on Luke’s face as she walked over to him and she pulled him into a tight hug, “Love you Lukey.”

“I love you too.” Luke mumbled softly back before sadly letting her go and Hayden watched Luke and Jack walk out.

February 3, 2024

Hayden and Quinn walked into the rink with Demko and Elias together.

Hayden had a pair of black trousers, a white sweater, a white belt and white trench coach with matching white converse.

Hayden laughed as she got ready for the game sitting next to Quinn, it was always nice to get time one and one with her brothers.

She shared an excited grin with Quinn as they got onto the ice together for their first shift.

Quinn tackled Hayden into a hug after she got a goal off his pass making her laugh and hug her brother back.

They may have ended up loosing in a shoot out but Hayden and Quinn both had so much fun playing together again.

It was definitely Hayden’s favorite all star so far.

family skate

December 12, 2021

Hayden was tying up her skates for the family skate, she got to have Luke with her.

Luke got out of school only two days before but took a flight right to Edmonton wanting to spend some time with Hayden for his winter break until after Christmas and he gets to go to Hayden’s family skate.

Hayden fixed the beanie on Luke’s head, the same beanie that she also has on her head. Hayden has a pair of blue jeans and a grey thick sweater.

Hayden linked her arm with Luke as they stood up and heads to the ice, Hayden was so happy to be able to finally have someone with her at her family skate.

Anyone on the team could tell how happy Hayden was to have her little brother with her and her brother looked just as happy to be with her.

Connor, Lauren, Leon and Celeste skated to Hayden and Luke and they all gave kind smiles to Luke as they all have met him many times before.

They all talked together and of course Connor and Leon wanted to know how hockey was going for Luke.

They continued to talk talk together until one of the media team members asked for a photo of Hayden and Luke together.

Hayden leaned against Luke and they smiled at the camera.

“Aunty Hay!” A little voice called out.

Hayden smiled as she saw two year old Theo trying to skate to her, Zach was holding one his son’s hand.

“Hey Bug.” Hayden smiled happily as she bent down and opened up her arms letting Theo skate right into her arms and he snuggled happily into her warmth.

Luke had a small fond smile as he watched her with the little boy.

Hayden gave Zach a nod that she had his son and he nodded heading back to his wife.

Hayden stood back up with him in his arms, “Theo i want you to meet my baby brother Luke.”

Theo peaked his head up from where he was lying on her chest, “Your Aunty Hay’s brother?” Theo gasped looking at Luke in awe.

“I am.” Luke proudly replied he smiled gently at he little boy.

“Cool!” Theo beamed lookin excited.

“Aunty Hay huh?” Luke teased quietly, he knew how much Hayden liked the kids on her team but he didn’t know how close she was with them.

Hayden’s cheeks turned a little red, “I couldn’t stop them.” Hayden knew some of the WAG’s encouraged their kids to call her Aunty Hay.

Luke just smiled wrapping an arm around her shoulder as she held Theo in his arms, “It’s cute.” Luke was glad she was so close to her team.

Luke noticed the second Hayden passed Theo back to his parents, another kid wanted to be with Hayden. He totally understood because who doesn’t want to be with Hayden.

Luke thought it was very funny the entire time and was just glad he got to be here with Hayden. Even if Hayden’s attention kept getting stolen.
