Hayden let out a long breath as the game finally ended even if they just lost in overtime, it was a long game.

Hayden waved at Jack across the ice, she was playing the Devil’s on New Year’s eve.

Hayden and Jack weren’t able to see each other before the game but Hayden and her team would be staying in New Jersey for a few days so they will get to celebrate New Years together.

Hayden took a good shower and changed into outfit she had on before the game, a pair of black dress pants and a black button down untucked with red converse.

Hayden decided to just leave her hair down after the shower and grabbed her bags waving bye to her team and headed out the locker room and saw Jack waiting for her with a teammate of his.

Jack hasn’t really had the chance for Hayden to meet his teammates as his sister, She met Ty at the lake house but other times she was in Jersey Jack didn’t want to share her with his teammates yet but at the same he did want them to meet her.

“Haydes!” Jack beamed brightly and opened up his arms letting Hayden fall into him as they hugged each other extremely tightly, acting as if they literally didn’t just see each other a week ago.

“Hi Jacky.” Hayden softly mumbled and pulled back looking at Jack’s teammate curiously, She knew who he was, Nico who Jack never shuts about.

“It’s nice to meet you Hayden, Jack is always talking about you.” Nico kindly spoke as they softly shook hands.

“Hi Nico.” Hayden grinned at Nico’s look of surprise, “Jack talks about you all the time.”

Nico and Hayden shared a grin getting along immediately and Jack groaned realizing they both are gonna tease him now.

“Let me help you.” Nico offered to her big suitcase, it was larger than normal as she was gonna be away from home for a while.

“Thanks.” Hayden grinned appreciatively as she fixed the duffle bag on her shoulder and Jack linked his and with her’s.

They headed out of the rink and towards Jack car and Hayden put both her bags into the car before hopping in.

Jack had a smile listening to Nico and Hayden chat and could tell they get along great already.

Nico was hosting a New Year’s party at his apartment and had set everything up before the game besides the food but was having someone deliver food so it should all be ready once he gets to his apartment.

Jack, Hayden and Nick walked through the apartment building and they dropped Hayden’s bags off at Jack’s apartment before going up two floors and going into Nico’s apartment.

Jack led Hayden to his favorite spot on Nico’s couch as Nico checked on the door making sure everything was correct right as the door bell rung and Nico opened the door for Dougie, Jesper and Jonas.

“Hey Hughesy.” Dougie ruffled Jack’s hair as he walked by and sat down next to jack, “So you’re the Hayden Jack never shuts up about.” Dougie teased Jack softly.

“I am nice to meet you Dougie.” Hayden kindly spoke as Jonas and Jesper sat down on the couch and Nico let more of the team in.

Jesper and Jonas were introduced to Hayden and Dougie started asking her questions wanting to know more about her even if Jack literally doesn’t stop talking about his siblings.

Nate came in about an a hour after Jack, Hayden and Nico got to Nico’s apartment and he came with Ty and jumped next to Jack leaning onto with Ty standing behind the couch.

“Jacky Boy!” Nate shook Jack making him laugh and Hayden smile.

“Bas!” Jack cheered back and fist bumped Ty, “This is Hayden my sister.” Jack proudly introduced.

“What’s up Hayden!” Nate grinned at her making her laugh seeing why Jack enjoys his company so much.

Ty smiled and waved at Hayden making Hayden wave back at Ty.

The boys all sitting around the couch wanted to know a lot of stories from Jack’s childhood and Hayden was more than willing to share.

Jack got up for a few minutes and got some food bringing back a plate for Hayden.

Hayden smiled in thanks as Jack sat back down next to her and handed a plate of foods she likes.

Jack rested his head on her shoulder as she told his teammates a story about him, Jack loved how easily Hayden has been getting along with all his teammates not they he expected anything else.

Jack eventually was able to introduce Hayden to all of his teammate’s that came and if they brought their significant others as well.

Hayden still seemed to get a long the most with Nico and eventually Hayden, Jack and Nico found themselves outside on the balcony sitting in the couch as Nico turned the heater on.

Jack tossed a big blanket overt all three of them as he just was happy to listen to Hayden and Nico talk to each other.

Jack, Hayden and Nico didn’t even realize how long they were talking to each in the balcony where it was a lot quieter than in Nico’s apartment until they heard the shouting of the countdown.

Cheers started once it hit one and fireworks started going off all around them and could hear people cheering and yelling everywhere.

“Happy New Years.” Jack softly told Hayden and Nico as he pressed a gentle kiss to his sister’s head.

“Happy new years.” Hayden and Nico both said too.

Hayden let out a happy sigh as she closed her eyes leaning into Jack, she was glad she got to spend New Years with Jack.

It was often they Jack and Hayden got to spend a lot of time alone and Hayden would be here for two more days before she would head up to New york with her team so she will get to spend time free days with Jack.

Hayden smiled looking forward to see what will happen in 2022.
