Jakkon's New backstory is finished!
Poor Rune.
He didn't deserve to die that way.
Not seeing the face of someone he loved crying over the boy who can't speak, feel, or think anymore.
Not put down Like a dog.
Not stabbed in the back by his own father to stop him from suffering when he was going to die either way.
Check out this story on this blog :]

I'm not a fan of really any of the endings so I'm going to make up some of my own.
The simple reason is that the majority of them don't actually fix the systemic issues of the Golden Order, they just add a new clause. Then there's Frenzy and Stars, of course. I like them both for outright rejecting the Golden Order, but again neither of them actually fixes anything. Even Ranni just plans to fly away into the sunset, and I don't think anyone left behind is particularly motivated to do humanitarian work.
So! Varying contenders for doing Something, results to be determined:
Empyreans:
Miquella: (I haven't played the DLC, no notes yet)
Malenia: Does not want to be a god, would probably do something like Caelid and then hate herself forever, more focused on her brother's will than effectively utilizing her own strength for her own purposes so I think she'd literally be an awful ruler and both literally and metaphorically leave everything to rot. Possibly Marika 2.0 and trying to reverse her own godhood by fighting the rot.
Ranni: We done been known.
Melina (if we assume she's the GEQ): Destined Death was, at one point, part of the Elden Ring. I'm not sure if that means it would be another Mending Rune ending. Either way it might at least unfuck the issues Marika caused by excising it, which is pretty textually one of the core flaws of the Order. I'd consider this a good ending.
Various other demigods:
Godrick: He seems to be fixated on the idea of grafting being strength, and the strong preying on the weak. A fairly literal interpretation of Marika's culturally alloyed Roman empire, honestly, with flavor notes of the Crucible and Godfrey's warlike mindset. Could be interesting, but at what cost.
Radahn: I like him because of his funky wizard backstory contrasted against a barbarian build style. However, he idolizes Godfrey, and at minimum I think we'd end up with an age of endless war. Maybe he'd do something more to bully the stars. Honestly? I think he'd potentially fight the Elden Beast if you worded the idea right.
Rennala: Get that woman some therapy and some medication, maybe a checkup for mental tampering via that weird SCP egg, and I think she'd be a perfectly competent ruler. Not sure if she'd want the whole empire though. I can see her marrying Marika's corpse the way we do, out of spite.
Rykard: He and Tanith can adopt Melina. I'm sure we can convince her births continuing through the Serpent are a valid option. Let's devour some gods.
Godwyn: He deserved better and I know he technically already has an ending, but hear me out. Return of the age of dragons.
Placidusax: Same thing but even more biased against mankind. As it should be, frankly.
Patches: We sell the Elden Ring to a totally moral and upstanding man in a cave. What happens next? Who can say. Either way it is probably never seen again and broken down for scrap.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first oc is mei lynn, her whole backstory is basically that she's SUUPER unlucky, like really REALLY bad luck, and on her way 2 school she did isekai'd, fell through the air, landed in a lake and broke her leg ^^
n the second oc is florian, his nickname is driam, hes a dragon shifter, meaning he has a full dragon form (which i haven't drawn yet), a half dragon-half human form, and a fully human form (i haven't drawn this yet either), n his backstory is that his parents who were also dragon shifters [and unapollogetically so] were killed by discriminatory humans who beleive shifters shouldn't be aloud rights called hunters, so he usually just parades around as a human, the only people who know hes a dragon shifter are his partners, (havent drawn them yet but he has 2 partners; his boyfriend abbie who's a cat shifter and his girlfriend mira, whos a mage that specializes in ice, water, and healing magic) and bestfriends, (elliott, a freelance programmer who beleives everyone deserves rights, shifter or not and protests these rights happily. piper, florian's roomate before he moved in with his partners, a human who lightly dabbles in plant magic but she wouldn't consider herself a mage, her apartment is above her flower shop which she named ' The Bluebell ', its her pride and joy and she hired mira to set up protection runes around the shop that activate when they close up for the night. and mikhail, whos a demon that refuses to make a deal with anyone for anything out of fear theyll hurt them because a deal with a demon always backfires on the person making the deal with them because a demon always wins in the deal they make, and demons are just angels who were abandoned by their patron god/goddess, mikhail's patron goddess was the goddess of the night and stars, he was abandonded by her out of hope that the mistreatment he got for being an angel would lessen and in a way it did because in the end he found a family.)
this post wasnt sposed 2 b about my ocs but it was fun to write about...
next post i do will most likely be alot of headcanons for alot of different fandoms !!

Hey!!! 3, 13, 20, 49 for Dores and Caryll in your interpretation!
Thank you Faree! :D Ask game here
First I tried to draw this morning but failed so thanks for the ask i got inspired to draw a lil something!
Tumblr media
(And then they got lost. They do have weird shenanigans with eldritch stuff. So they will be fine. Actually their friendship is quite funny i love it)
3. What first drew you to this character?
Hm well for Caryll they seems like quite a very important character we know nothing about! In lore I mean. Runes are so op I'm glad they exist 🙏 everyone used them and it seems quite important! Caryll didn't make/translate all the runes but the first one to do so while a students at Byrgenwerth! It's so impressive so it made me wonder who they were... and we don't know what happened to them too ;-;
As for Dores I guess I got interest thanks to the fans actually giving a damn and drawing Dores ! Also ""her"" link with Willem, gatekeeper and probably Gehrman by extension made me think and wonder about their missions in the pthumerians labyrinth. Plus idk Dores seems to have quite a wild personality! that's very cool. And the set descriptions and the 2 hunters is very interesting
13. If you could draw effortlessly and as much as you wanted, what scene (s) would you draw for this character?
Caryll : Hm... lots go things lol. Caryll do have a huge role in my Bloodborne stories and is very present so I have lots of ideas XD but would be difficult to draw... hm maybe caryll with tons of hunters around them and explaining smt. Or Caryll staring at water (sea/lake), or caryll fate... or idk smt with lot of runes to draw something esoteric when they ear great ones! Caryll & friends too. But I would also like to illustrated Caryll getting very scared and encountering a sick man who's at the early stage of beasthood. At Byrgenwerth. During prom night. Yeah can't wait to write that XD
Dores : hmm either Dores' childhood (with almost everyone treating her as a weirdo creepy kid 💀 and featuring Gehrman) or well badass fighting against pthumerians. That also make me think I need to draw Dores being task to watch the kids (Rom & Laurence when they were younger) by Willem while he's out and she panicked and ask if they wanna see organs in jars or smt. Or maybe draw her withe the twins. Yeah I haven't decided yet if the Madaras twins are her kids or long lost brothers I am hesitating because there's the 2 guys with the graveguard set too. OR ALSO (sorry last one) Dores doing artisanal liquor and almost accidentally killing people. (I mean Laurence is the only one who almost died but he was fine after few days. Her other attempts where better)
20. Do you feel affectionate towards this character?
Caryll is my lil guy (gender neutral) 🥺 I love them so so much they remind me of one of my friend too. I really like Caryll I am so mean for all the tragic scenarios I imagined toward the end of their life 😔 but I swear the 3 decades before that are very wholesome if we forgot some lil details. But yeah must protect and deserve the world. So yeah.
Hm idk if it's "affection" but yeah I do like my versions of Dores yeah! I really like to develop her backstory and personality and I can empathise with lot of things she went through that weren't easy.
49. What’s your favorite personality trait in this character?
Well it's purely headcanons but I like their soft sides? I think.
So Caryll kindness and everything would be ok attitude.
As for Dores her more harsh and scary traits are very cool but with her very close friends she can show a way more carrying side <3 she still a bit of a brute XD but I like this too. Everyone is always surprised of it at first.
Hope it answer! Thank you a lot Faree I really like to wrote about it!

AITA for telling my friend someone the truth?
(My interpretation of canon events, somewhat ooc but it's backstory so I imagine they’ve changed since then)
I (20 M) am a student in the world’s most prestigious university. Even amongst the other students there I am particularly brilliant, a fact I see no reason to lie about out of false modesty, since they know it as well as I do. Without acknowledging your gifts you can’t see their value. However, most people do not seem to share my attitude, and in general they can never really understand me. I don’t understand them either, so it’s for the best that they leave me alone.
There is one person who is different. I’ll refer to him as K (22 M). He approached me and wouldn’t leave me alone, and he didn’t seem to be deterred by the fact that I’m not like everyone else. He is also incredibly bright, and not just in terms of intelligence. He has a bright personality; he lights up every room he’s in. Unlike me, everyone likes him. At first I didn’t, and just wanted him to go away, but there’s something about him that you can’t help but love  like. I enjoy his company; I want to be around him. He’s different from me, but up until now it’s always felt like we complete each other.
Even though we are studying different things (he is an architect and I am a linguist) we decided to conduct a joint research project on ancients buildings and ancient runes. Since we are both at the top of our classes other students saw this and thought it would be an opportunity to put their names on something big, since everyone was certain that we were going to make enormous discoveries. I thought so too, at the time. But more than that I wanted to do this project with K.
The issue is that the other students involved in our project weren’t able to handle it. They worked hard, but none of them had the natural talent that K and I have, and there’s only so far hard work can take you. There’s nothing wrong with that, no one’s forcing them to try to be something they’re not, they should just accept that they aren’t able to keep up. It’s a lesson they have to learn some time.
K didn’t see it that way though. It’s his main flaw. He’s too much of an idealist, and self-sacrificing to a fault. He thinks that any of them can do the same amount that we can if they have the chance, and they deserve the opportunity to uncover wisdom too. It’s a nice way of seeing the world, but he’s wrong. He worked night and day doing not only his work but also theirs, even though helping them isn’t going to make them any more able to do the work in the future, so he was just delaying the inevitable. He was putting far too much on himself, (which I hated seeing), and all for nothing. I was right, and even with his help none of them could keep up with us. They all ended up dropping out.
I tried to tell K we were all better off; they could pursue something that fit their ability better, and the two of us could finish the project together like we should have done before. He could stop doing more than his share of the work, and it would all be ok. Instead of agreeing he got angry with me, told me it was my fault people don’t like me and I should try to get along with them better. He blamed me for looking down on people and for driving away all the other students.
That hurt. No one else has understood me until he came along; regardless of whether I tried to be friendly they thought I was cold and standoffish. K was the first one who recognized that I wasn’t trying to be rude or cruel, or so I thought. And I don’t look down on people, I just don’t delude myself about the difference in our capabilities.
I told him as much. I could have been nicer about it, perhaps, but I was upset with him. I told him his idealism is impractical, that it was already hurting him, and that one day it would crush him if he let it. And I told him he just wanted to help others to escape from some past guilt.
I didn’t know it would affect him so strongly, it was just an assumption based on the evidence, but he seemed really hurt by that statement. Clearly I was right, and I touched on something he didn’t want brought up. He shouted at me, told me he wished he’d never become my friend, and that he regretted ever approaching me. Then he stormed out. And he hasn’t been back since.
I don’t know. That’s strange to say, since I’m used to always knowing. But I really don’t know. We’ve fought before over our different worldviews, but never like this. I truly believe everything I said, but he got so angry. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten upset, or I shouldn’t have mentioned his guilt, but I really wasn’t aware it would hurt him so much. AITA? It’s not like I was the only one who said hurtful things.
Update: I still haven’t talked to him. If he really doesn’t want to be friends, that’s fine. I was fine before I met him. I’ve taken my name off of our thesis. I can’t change him and he can’t change me, so this is better for both of us.

literally one person (whom i will marry under a beautiful sunlit night bc of it) took interest in ophidius so now i'm gonna be posting his backstory under the readmore
(warning: the backstory relies on my personal interps of the lore and a lot of fanon surrounding the godskins and godwyn (mostly born through rp in a discord server), so if you're not into that, Abandon This Post)(watch the dlc ruin this whole thing)
The Gloam-Eyed Queen needed soldiers to be able to take the Elden Ring from her sister, Marika. And what better way than take soldiers from under her sister's nose?
As such, born from the unholy union of a soldier's corpse and serpent, seared with the flame of Destined Death, were born the first Godskin Apostles: the Prototypes. Among them was Ophidius.
However, these prototypes were flawed in her eyes, for they could disobey orders, and often had to be taught to fight.
In the end, she perfected the process, and out of it came the modern Godskins, but the Queen still had the Prototypes around.
As such, she bid them to fight to the death; the surviving one (if any remained) would get a spot of honor in her Cult.
Ophidius was the surviving one, after being forced to tear his siblings limb from limb.
In the end, his command of the Queen's forces didn't last long, for Maliketh attacked their base in the Mountaintops, and Ophidius ran away, against his "mother's" orders.
Lost in the Mountaintops, Ophidius only survived because he happened across the camp of a late knight, with the knight's corpse still there, beheaded. Ophidius took the armor (sans helmet, for the head was missing), and made a cloak out of the tent in the camp.
The Age of the Golden Order came, and Ophidius made a habit of sneaking into the Mountaintops throughout the ages, to give tribute to his lost siblings.
However, on one such occasion, he was found by Godwyn the Golden, who quickly figured out what he was, but didn't fight or try to capture him; only offered aid and food, alongside bandages for the wounds attained in the meeting (one of Godwyn's hunting hounds bit into his leg, and Godwyn happened to shoot an arrow into his upper chest).
They became friends, even family, and kept up their meetings for a long time, until Godwyn was assassinated.
At first, Ophidius managed to rein in his grief (or rather, bury it), but upon witnessing the state of Godwyn's corpse in Deeproot Depths, something changed in him; something that as time went, twisted him completely.
When the Battle of Aeonia was long past, Ophidius made himself known to the world as a competitor for the Great Runes, allying himself with Tarnished in their efforts to kill the Demigods and obtain the Runes.
However, unlike the Tarnished, he didn't want to mend the Elden Ring; rather, in his grief at the death of Godwyn, and in his belief that the Lands Between didn't deserve to exist anymore, he wanted to get the Great Runes together so he could burn them all with the flame of Destined Death, and hopefully cause a cataclysmic event of apocalyptic proportions to occur, killing everyone in the world, very much in a "putting them all out of my misery" way.
As I envision it, Ophidius would aid the Tarnished in the Shardbearer fights, also appearing somewhere near to the boss so he could be talked to. However, after beating Gideon, he would enter through the fog wall, and become a boss, under the monicker of "Ophidius the Traitor". He would drop a remembrance on death, with which you can get his sword or the "Heretic's Sapling" spell, plus his armor becomes available for purchase.

hey !! Uh just asking, can we like do Oc's of the comic (like fandom oc's)?
Other question :))) can we do pmv or animatics for the comic? :D
absolutely yes to both!! i was asked a similar question a bit ago and since then there's been a few fan characters with their own lore and backstories!! it makes me SO happy that people like the worldbuilding enough to want to make an oc in the same setting. you can check em out under my fan characters tag!
there are a couple rules that i'd prefer you keep in mind (which you can find here) but im generally pretty lax with them! in the end i cant really stop you from doing anything hfdjhf (also making AUs of the story is completely okay/encouraged!!!)
as for animatics/pmvs, i literally explode everytime someone draws me fanart of my ocs so anything of the sort is more than welcome!! just be sure to mention me on youtube or here on tumblr so that i see it and give it the love it deserves!!
this also goes for fan writing!! ive been asked about people writing fanfics about my ocs/runes in general before and the thought alone makes me so excited and happy
overall YES to any and all fan content ever :D

What other games do you like to play? When Aiden becomes king does that mean riddle’s daughter would become queen when they marry? How would Riddle react?
Kingdom Hearts is literally my life obsession- though it doesn’t really show much on my blog, lol.
I really enjoy Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires too. Genshin Impact, Harvest Moon/Rune Factory/Stardew Valley… I have several Sims4 games but I haven’t played in a while, lol. I binge for several months and then don’t touch it for years. I recently became obsessed with the Zelda series. I have the early access to Baldur’s Gate 3 and Coral Island.
And I played Obey Me for a while before kind of… stopping because I’m really bad at leveling up cards and I’m only on season three but it’s gotten so hard??? Even though my cards are pretty high level??? And now I’m too scared to open up the app because I know I’ll have over five hundred chat messages to read.
If we wanna talk about CLASSIC Otome games though… hehe…
Hello, Cheritz! Dandelion~ wishes brought to you will always hold a special place in my heart, especially with Jihae and Jieun’s stories because they made me bawl my eyes out. Jihae is my bunny husband. I love him so much. I played all routes to get the Wizard ending. The bunnies had the best stories, though I do… feel bad for Jisoo, mean as he is.
Nameless is another good one by the same company. Momma Tei!!! Who is low key a Yandere!!! In his route. But Lance was my first route in that one. I powered through the other endings to- again- get the Wizard and Doll ending. Nameless is actually hinted to be the prequel to Dandelion.
And, of course? Who can forget Mystic Messenger. I played for Zen and that was it. Same universe, and based on the fact that Zen had prophetic visions, along with the red eyes and silver hair (silver hair being the result of a royal/commoner relationship) and his relationship with his family…
It’s fairly obvious that Zen made a wish for him and his family to live in a world where they wouldn’t be treated like trash for his existence, and had to pay the price with the memories of his family. Their memories of how much they loved him. So now they hate him. It’s super sad. But also Zen got a role where he played Jisoo from Dandelion (and Zen is allergic to cats because he’s originally a bunny boi!).
Ahem. Sorry. Jihae has silver hair and an equally sad backstory so uh. I really like Zen. They’re both adoring sweethearts with bad self esteem.
ANYWAYS TO YOUR OTHER QUESTION
Riddle would be very surprised. Would also probably have flashbacks to when he had a puppy crush on El and realize Rhythm has the exact same taste in people as he does- seeing as she fell for El’s SON.
But his daughter deserves to be queen. Riddle was once the dorm leader of Heartslabyul. He was once the Queen himself. It’s only fitting.
But it does make family gatherings a little awkward, lol. Especially if someone teases him about his dark past. (Malleus will never know)

Secrets (Secret Outcode Boys Backstory)
Warnings: Violence, tears, death, etc.
Rune was laying on his bed and closed his eyes. He was sighing and seriously upset. He yawned as he fell asleep.
-----
"Traitor!" A growl could be heard. It was loud, and Rune's eyes snap up towards the person. As these people tied him up, he could see blood and dust. He was unable to see his brothers. "You murdered-"
"I didn't!" Rune protested, but felt the ropes around his wrist tighten and yank him. He winced and growled a bit in pain, but he also felt no pain.
"You think you could kill the King and Queen and get away with it?!" The voice snarled as he is pulled.
"I didn't-!" Rune tried to protest.
"I thought you were our friend..." Another voice spoke up, voice wavering. Rune felt his SOUL crack a bit.
"Don't waste your breath." Another growl could be heard. Rune felt tears welling up in his eyes, likely mixing with the blood on his face and the ground.
"But- but I didn't..." Rune's voice trembled as tears streamed down his cheeks. He noticed his voice becoming weak.
What was the point? They never believed him in the first place… What did he expect? It's not like he asked for this. He didn't even ask for this job. He worked extremely hard. He tried to be a good friend, to be there for his friends, to have complete and utter faith in them… Only to have his faith betrayed and broken? He was accused of murdering his parents. Why would he do that? He was loved them. He could hear them calling him a traitor and cursing his name in whispers.
He hated it. He hated this. He hated his job. He hated THEM. He shakes his head as the hateful thoughts begin to bubble. He didn't want to be hateful- but... Why should he try to be nice? Why should he extend to them the kindness they never extended to him? He was known as the Cursed Prince. He never did anything to deserve that label. He was good, behaved, and loved his parents and siblings. Why should he prove to them that he wasn't going to destroy the kingdom?
"Pap-" Rune swears he could hear his brother, but eventually he saw only white and dark. He saw a skeleton holding a hand to him.
"Let me help you make them pay," the skeleton said. His hand remained motionless. "I'll help you get your revenge," the skeleton cooed softly. He paused for a moment.
Maybe he should spare them- but then more thoughts came to mind… He has no reason to. Why should he? Why would he do that? He was out for vengeance. He did not murder his parents; they did. They simply blamed him in order to make him a scapegoat. As his eyes changed colors and he took the skeleton's hand, tears streamed down his cheeks.
He recalls the following scene vividly. He killed anyone who harmed his family or himself, but he couldn't bring himself to kill his brothers. He could have taken the throne, but he chose to leave them and join the side of Dusk, the skeleton who assisted him in meeting his vengeance.
Rune resolved that after killing his friends, he would never trust or allow anyone to get too close to him again. He decided to close himself off completely. That was what he'd do. He then felt the land change rapidly between AUs and the anti-void. He closed his eyes, ready to wake up.
-----------
"Rune?" Umbra hummed as the skeleton dragged himself out of bed. He shrugged and proceeded to walk past the other skeleton. "Same as usual, huh?" Umbra hums as Rune puts on his clothes.
"Any jobs today?" Rune inquired coldly, and Umbra shrugged.
"No, the truce has helped a lot; we should probably just train." Umbra hummed as he reached to touch the skeleton on the shoulder. "Wanna train together?" Umbra asked. Rune stared at the skeleton before shrugging off his hand.
"No..." Rune mumbles as he leaves the room. He ignores everyone who calls to him and goes to train. He was too busy training to be exhausted. He was very focused on training all day. He wondered what his brothers were doing, but he shakes his head. They tried to save him, but couldn't get to him.
-------
Rhydian holds his skull as he leaned against the mirror. He thought back to when Rune was taken. He tried his damnedest to free him, but failed and then his failure cost their kingdom, their home. His brother, Runar gently touches his shoulder, but he shrugs it off. His brother would've been a king if they protected Rune better. He hated how he failed and was afraid to make friends, but still desperately craved them while Rune forsook friendship and trust.
"Let's go, bro..." Rhydian moves past Runar and goes to train or something. Runar sighs and nods.
"Alright, Rhydian..." Runar quietly mumbles as he leaves with his brother.
Runar was struggling with his failure to protect his brothers. Rune had become so cold-hearted while Rhydian became distant and harsh. He tried to stop the people, but they didn't listen to him. He couldn't stop Rune when he destroyed the kingdom or the people. He couldn't stop Rune from forsaking friendship and trust. He was a failure as an older brother. He failed his parents and failed his brothers. He should've tried harder, he knows.
Rune keeps his secrets better than they could... Which makes him a secret holder so fitting for him. So fitting it hurt.

Speaking of the league, what are YOUR hcs??😳 (since u asked of mine as well lol)
OKAY I actually do, thank you for the ask!! However keep in mind that pretty much it's work in progress, because literally every single day I remember an item description I forgot or get a new perspective/idea on my own! But as of now (September 11th, 2021) here goes!
Under cut though because I have many headcanons, plus it's mostly text and no pictures this time...
* Valtr
- As the type to be 'obssessed with his job', formerly as a constable and now as a hunter, he struggles to have hobbies or even enjoy his rest time at all! But when his friends DO manage to convince him to relax and try to do something fun like drawing or cooking or whatever, he quickly gains enough competence in the thing to start criticizing and teaching THE person who showed him the way to begin with! That can be frustrating, and they have to ask him to STOP now, which is as hard as getting him to start was....
- I already talked about how seeing Vermin relies on one's own ability to define what is acceptable and what isn't in this post, but yeah. He stopped seeing Vermin because of 'nothing deserves to live anyway' mindset that makes Impurity rune redundant; however as dialogue suggests in my opinion, the hunter betraying him does piss him off enough to see it in them! If you never do though, presume he moves on sheer autopilot to at least find himself a replacement. He still does the right thing even if it does not matter anymore...
- His passionate praising and affection to confederates for squashing bugs is genuine but at the same time pragmatic! Vermin is seen by anyone with Impurity rune in what/who they deep down think should be exterminated, and theme of 'some things only can harm you if you are able to perceive them' is strong in Bloodborne - so Valtr needs to fuel the feeling that they are in the right in them, because if they hate themselves and see Vermin in themselves... at least they will suffer physically, at likeliest they'll die.
- Valtr is similar to Gehrman with the 'whatever your backstory/motivation/hunting style/etc is, if you are ready to kill and can do it WELL - you are accepted' approach (as opposed to Ludwig's quite unifying and inspiring chivalry), however, Valtr is of course way better at reading hidden emotions and needs of his subordinates than him.
* Yamamura
- Arrived with long hair in ponytail like concept art of him suggests, cut it short with a sword as sort of a sign of starting new life in Yharnam.
- Is unable to take a break like Valtr, however, for Yamamura it is very detrimental. Think of the person who never switches TV channel when it's bad news, never blocks internet content they hate or disturbed by, like, no matter how bad their mental state gets - they keep exposure up because 'well it will not disappear just because I stopped looking at it'. Valtr was very stoic and even felt the more in his element the worse things got - but Yamamura is an emotional, intricate, sensitive person, so his eventual insanity came from this. Just think of the person that denies every temporary comfort because "it will not change how the world is"... He is very self-destructive - that varies from understandable(?) denial of help when he needs it to crazy things such as defying himself his own human needs.
- Needs a hug but says he does not because "if I feel nice now it won't change how awful the world is :/". Valtr takes boundaries of his confederates seriously, however requests like 'let me wallow in literal insanity and suffer whereas simple affection could make a difference' are to be taken in reverse, so too bad, hugs from all confederates for him.
- Valtr did not offer Yamamura to leave the League directly, nor would Yamamura agree, yet Valtr recognized him as very sensitive so he started talking to him often, more often than with other League members that didn't instantly disappear to hunt in distant places, to know how he's feeling and what he is thinking. As result, they became very close.
- His Insight is high enough to make him be harmed by things others cannot even see - drown in the water others do not know even "exists" here, burnt trying to hold an object others do not know is even "burning", poisoned by a spike on a plant others can hold just fine - because for them this spike doesn't exist! The 'some things can only harm you if you perceive them', remember!
- Draws and writes and plays music - at least sometimes, because often his drawings might come to life and attack him, or sound of his music turn into something ears-scattering. Has a diary halving "japanese" and "english" language, as he has not heard his native speech in years before he died, thus many of his thoughts went "english". Some almost prophetic notes and drawings can be found in his diary.
- Choosen 'cursed' Cainhurst blade because it reminded him of home, did not care about its life-draining effects because 'well the hunt slowly ruins all of us anyway, choosing different way to harm oneself won't change it so why not through a weapon'. Like.... you see his problem by now I am sure.
* Henryk
- He believes that one true way to REALLY know the person is to fight/kill them, as he has almost supernatural empathy towards someone he just killed (like the rune he drops suggests). This mindset made him become fast friends with Valtr, however, he only lifted this mentality for Gascoigne and his family.
- Used to crush on Gascoigne, however introduced him to his family (that at the moment was only his adopted daughter, Viola) only after Gascoigne ditched the Healing Church. However, when he saw how desperate Viola got from almost the first sight, he knew what he needed to do, so he subtly helped her to win Gascoigne over and them to get together. He might have had some sadness within, but when the first daughter between Gascoigne and Viola was born, he cried such tears of joy that they presumably washed away any grudges he might have had left.
- Only accepts death in the honest battle, yet nothing can kill him, so his life is long overdue. Although, 'you' can defeat him, as his skill is severly weakened because of heartbreak upon seeing both Viola and Gascoigne dead.
- Took advantage of younger Madaras twin not knowing semantics to teach him say cuss words, cracked the hell up every time, got bonked by Valtr with the League staff upon being found out.
- Has strange heritage he is uncertain of, such as the suspiciously bolt-resistant costume and a music box that plays weird tune that feels familiar. He is as much descendant of land of Loran as Cainhurst nobles are descendants of Pthumerian royalties, but he knows even less about his mysterious heritage, so he ventures in Byrgenwerth when it was 'still good' to ask about melody music box he was given plays. He was not able to accomplish much though, so he opted out to just gifting this music box to Viola and Gascoigne as the wedding gift.
- When stressed throws knives at the pictures of his enemies that Viola drew, hung on the wall for convenience.
- Lets his actions speak for him instead of the words, however, when he DOES talk, usuall it is edgy james bond esque over the top quote.
- Although he does not talk much, he would accomplish more if he did; always, he has something important to say and is arguably better at delivering the point from the first try when Valtr struggles to explain it at the 10th time. He just knows what feelings and sentiments to cater to to be more convincing.
* Younger Madaras Twin
- He got very attached to humanity's more civilized ways in the contrast of his more feral brother, tried his best to learn to hold tools and speak some words from the start. Perhaps, his previous life no longer seemed as satisfying when he learned of something different.
- Has intense loyalty to Valtr. He killed his brother (and snake!!!) for the ideals Valtr introduced, without even having enough verbal/cognative development to comprehend complexities of 'crime and innosense' concept Valtr introduced. He still relays on Valtr as his moral compass, hence why he attacks the good hunter regardless of whether Valtr was killed or passed his leadership down. He does not have this deeply-rooted will for the Hunt normal hunters have that is so strong in can rise them up from the death - instead, he just sticks to Valtr (and Henryk as follows) as it 'feels right'. Is it son/father bond? Is it apprentice/mentor bond? Even dog/owner bond? It is hard to describe with a single term, but ether way, this guy traded what he felt more familiar and safe with for Valtr's ideology, and although Valtr values loaylty - what truly matters is WHAT you're loyal to, and this is why thus guy will always be a true confederate.
- Catches small animals that are unaffected by the beasthood to eat them raw as food - shared trait with my versions of Izzy and Amelia. Old habits die hard.
- Has very keen senses like his brother even if they appeared to be very different people upon more about the world being revealed, athough they are mostly tied to emotions. Without words, he is very likely to understand how you truly feel, if not try to provide comfort with cuddles and occasional cheek licks (like a dog...).
* Relevant Encounters
Older Twin: He has always been more reluctant to mingle with the humans than the older one. Did not enjoy using tools to eat, rejected getting a haircut, did not even try to learn to say some human words... He appreciates his upbringing more than some randos that 'found' him and his brother and declared the lifestyle he was perfectly fine with barbaric and animalistic. Never was a true member of the League per say - in fact, his death WAS what brought younger twin to be recognized as a confederate. However, he was very loving and strong in his own regard - he felt undying gratitude to his mother figure even though she appeared to be filled with Vermin, he could show attachment and loyalty not every 'civilized' human could.
Madaras Snake: Long time ago, a terrifying creature of superior kind settled within ancients, punishing those who searched for more knowledge than they were supposed to have with deadly gaze that petrified their bodies. However, it had snakes growing all over its head, and they disagreed with the main body, loving the humanity and wishing to 'live in dirt' with them. Creature had been slain yet lives in the void some dedicated researchers still look into, but some snakes were cut away from its body and settled within mankind, their origin explaining them having enough intelligence to raise human children. Indeed, their snake was a mother figure for them, but through eating beasts (who were in turn transformed people) she is filthy and depraved, and not everyone can accept that their parent figure was "nothing but filth all along".
______
Gascoigne: He had the same 'nothing deserves to live' depression that eventually reduced Valtr's ability to see Vermin much earlier - although unrealized, as he was trying to live his best life and even found joy in caring for his family. However it was enough for Impurity rune to 'not work' on him although Henryk suggested to hunt with the League. He was just like ':/ Nothing changed', and League that knew what that means was like '...oh no' internally. However, he is still in contact with friends of Henryk, and at times Gascoigne and Valtr find such great common ground that Henryk feels left out in these moments x)
Viola: Whereas she does not oppose the concept of teaching her girls to fight back as soon as they physically can, but she thinks that 'dad's friends are weird' and would rather prefer doing it within family or some more level-headed hunters (are there any?..). She still has faith in the future where her girls could grow up and accomplish things (oh no...), so she does NOT vibe with the idea of Valtr inspiring them to grow up to be cops stuck in the hunter mindset even when there will be no need.
Dorothy (younger daughter): Very scared of Valtr's antics, he can give QUITE a maniacal murdery speech whereas other people be like '...dude she's like, 6 :/' . However, she hoped that younger Madaras twin could teach her animals language at some point.
Sally (younger daughter): She thinks Valtr is really cool and sometimes wraps herself in blue blanket and puts actual bucket on her head to act like him (and maybe to scare her little sister a bit). It is "VERY similar", according to Henryk.
______
Gratia and Simon:
Yamamura was the last core member to join, and although skilled fighter in his own place, still needed to master plenty of skills and things about beasts. Valtr encouraged him to mingle with the Church hunters of Ludwig's kind under the guise of 'needing some training' as Church had some suspicious aura about it which did not sit well with Valtr. However, there was interior motive tied in as well - Valtr noticed Yamamura in his sensitive emotional spirit did not belong to League as much and it was ruining him, so he hoped he'd find more motivation and comfort with noble, optimistic ways of the Church hunters and keep friends from that kind of hunters even if something horrible comes up about the Church. And he was right - Yamamura laughed and smiled in his stay in Church Worskhop more than he ever did in the League, he made friends with two other 'weird weapon choice' hunters - as one picking 'cursed' blade socked from Cainhurst after the raid as it reminded him of home, and at the brink of his sanity he recites inspirational speech of the Church, not something relevant to the League. It was a matter of 'if you love them - let them be where they're happier' mindset in a way...
Yamamura however, ended up in (unfortunate) adventure to unveil the Church's secrets with his new friends - Simon as he shared same suspicions and Gratia because 'You are my friends, I will go where you go'! They were quite a team - Simon with his big information basis and ability to sneak everywhere and snatch everything, Gratia who is a huge physical force and Yamamura as 'the seer' hahah; If only all of them avoided being caught and lived longer...
______
Djura: Valtr used to affiliate with Djura as his weapon was crafted at Powder Kegs, and sudden change of heart with 'beast are people just less fortunate ones' did not sit right with him. He is not a coward to jump into the battle he cannot win, either. However, the fact that beasts of Old Yharnam have no means to escape anyway is what truly allowed Valtr to leave him be. He even has mild agreement with Djura that if a person League is chasing ends up escaping in Old Yharnam - they leave them be; they cannot escape, plus if they were so 'impure' they are probably soon to become the beast anyway. My inspiration was finding a single red-eyed scourge beast in Old Yharnam - and you collect Vermin from red-eyed old hunters, so. Perhaps, Valtr sees Djura as a sort of 'jailer' so he gives Djura a pass even if he's not the type to spare ANY beast normally... oh boy.
Church Doctors/Proto-Choir: Valtr thinks they are crazy, as they saw the 'filth within man' to be the soil to plant weird things within them, usually coming in the forms of the flowers. There is a rune on Clocktower Dial that looks like Impurity but slightly altered, which I took as the doctors misinterpreting (misspelling?) a concept and finding a way to 'plant' phantasms to cleanse mankind - yes, it has to do with how Milkweed rune makes your head a broccoli, as well as with Fluorescent Flowers and glowing plant life at Rom's back. "Watering" the dirt allows "flowers to grow from it", and Valtr is NOT here for it. Ya'll trying to toss humanity away, ya'll aren't slick!
Geranea: A nice doctor/hunter that attempted at Research Hall experiments to cleanse the beasthood, but early realized they were subjecting themselves to some otherwordly mind humans better be sceptical towards and chickened out. However, she did lose one eye (as existance of Eye Pendant suggests), so she made a habit from wearing a helmet that resembled a bucket, but with just one eye hole in it. As someone familiar with Caryll's runes language she helped Valtr to make sense of the 'inhuman noises' he got within him after eating a beast, however their approaches altered. Geranea refused to ever harm a human that still never turned into a beast, as no human deserves to die in her opinion, so she was dead set on treating 'impurity' medically. Valiant effort, but when you 'treat' terrible, dirty, depraved humans for too long - it infects you, and in Bloodborne so many psychological concepts are also literal. In the end she realized that SOME humans did deserve to die - mostly her for what she became from raw exposure, so she turned herself in to Valtr asking to be killed by his own hand, thus indirectly encouraging him to confirm his oath. He still wears her bucket helm unaltered despite having both eyes, as a reminder to not repeat her mistakes and from sentimentality. She did not stop being his friend just because she chosen a different (and less safe) way to rid the world of evil, after all, she still put up a fight against filth, so.
Dog: Back in his constable times, Valtr struggled to find a dog he'd like to keep as a companion. However, after like, 30 tries he met THE one most fodmiddable and aggressive to call his friend. He knew it was THE one xD Unfortunately, before the beast that invanded district Valtr was in started killing people, it had this exact dog as its first victim.
Izzy: She was very interested in her pursuit for what humanity really IS, what is the border between man and beast, and her picking interest in a guy that seemed to get something figured about "the world of man" was only a matter of time. She talked him into revealing the secret to her, having pretended to crush Vermin like others for some time, but actually secretly stocking most of it to research. Eventually she concluded Vermin was natural for humans and Valtr was the one crazy for wanting to cleanse it. You can imagine that did not go well... Even her eventual beast form had insectoid features. She is the only technically-confederate that Valtr doesn't count as such, the 'we do not talk about THAT one' deal for the League.
______
Eileen: She knows the hunt is a tragic necessity, not some sort of entrertainment to 'seek' for, thus she questions League's determination to seek the reasons to hunt 'not just tonight but every night', however, they do not seem to listen. However, she questions whether they feel pain or joy when someone they suspected to be Impure proves to be so, which puts her in complicated relationship with Valtr. I imagine he to be the one to be able to ground Valtr if he was ever to approach blood-drunkedness; meanwhile, she just does the 'STOP IT YOU ARE SCARING CHILDREN!' on him when he tries to start shit during the light of the day when people have a chance to have something good as the night of the hunt is far away.

Nascent Demon Lord, Igramalash
Tumblr media
Image from Herald of the Ivory Labyrinth, © Paizo Publishing
[Commissioned by @tar-baphon. This one requires some context. Igramalash appeared in Herald of the Ivory Labyrinth with a ton of backstory, as discussed in the first paragraph of the entry below. Most parties will probably never learn it, since he just fights until slain and has nothing to say to the party except for screaming for Alderpash. He can act as an agent of chaos in the adventure, and can be goaded into attacking the warden and the staff of the prison, be commanded by the PCs with the help of Runelord Alderpash, or simply killed. The commissioner ran a party through Wrath of the Righteous, and they allowed Igramalash to live and escape. So this request was for an Igramalash improved and triumphant, having re-established his worship and becoming a power to be reckoned with. The original module says he was worshiped as a god of pain and obedience, but I thought his concerns should be updated to reflect his history of betrayals and imprisonments.
Not also that the original Igramalash had mythic tiers, as is fitting for being from the Mythic AP. As I’ve previously said, I hate the mythic rules, and have stripped them out. Igramalash was especially egregious for having the most game-breaking ability of the mythic rules, dual initiative. I gave it an ability to maintain some of that flavor without the overpowered making-two-full-attacks-every-round mechanics.]
Igramalash The Inverted Rune, the Liberated Concerns hunger, revenge, revolt Domains Chaos, Evil, Liberation, Strength Subdomains Demon, Entropy, Ferocity, Freedom Worshipers evil giants, fleshwarped creatures, the downtrodden Minions grimleks, inverted giants, nabasu demons Unholy Symbol a spiral with a fanged maw in the center Obedience Devour a pound of flesh from someone or something that has wronged you. This flesh may be fresh or preserved. Gain a +4 profane bonus on saves against transmutation effects Boons 1:  bull’s strength 2/day; 2: freedom of movement 2/day; 3: greater dispel magic 2/day
Nascent Demon Lord, Igramalash CR 23 CE Outsider (extraplanar) This hideous thing is roughly humanoid, with a head that is merely a fanged canker and squirming fanged tentacles that spill from its body like intestines. Its oversized arms drag to the ground and end in clawed fists, luminous runes carved into the muscle. A long tongue whips from its mouth, and black smoke billows forth from it like a shroud.
Igramalash the Inverted Rune has had a long and bizarre history. He began life as a rune giant, one of a race of titans created by the runelords to manage their giant armies. After a failed rebellion, he was tortured by his master, Runelord Alderpash, and transformed into a hideous parody—an inverted giant. This was accomplished by fusing his body with that of a powerful qlippoth, granting Igramalash remarkable resilience and a deadly poison. In this form, lesser giants worshiped him as a divinity of death, and this tribute went to his head (or what was left of it). After decades of service, he betrayed Alderpash again, and the Runelord turned him over to Baphomet, Alderpash’s patron, for torment in the Ivory Labyrinth. After being freed by adventurers storming the Ivory Labyrinth as a terror weapon, Igramalash escaped captivity. Having been exposed finally to the full energies of the Abyss, he has ascended to the form of nascent demon lord, and now seeks a spot of territory in the Abyss to claim as his own.
Igramalash’s intellect has been enhanced by his Abyssal upgrades, and he combines overwhelming strength with savvy tactics. Against multiple foes, he uses spell-like abilities to shape the battlefield and tie up support before concentrating full firepower on a single target. He enjoys eating his enemies alive, especially wizards, as they remind him of the hated Alderpash. Igramalash has lived far too long to die in battle, and he teleports away to recover and plot revenge if grievously injured.
The nascent cult of Igramalash is growing among giants, fleshwarped creatures, and other monsters used as minions by more intelligent powers. Igramalash has developed a reputation as a savior figure, which inflicts violence on the masters who deserve it. Few of his worshipers realize that Igramalash cares as little for them as their original masters did, and would gladly sacrifice their lives in order to gain a momentary advantage. The prospect of revenging themselves on their tormentors is too great, and his veneration spreads in secret, kept away from prying eyes and passed through hidden signs. Igramalash realizes that wealth can buy loyalty, and collects treasure to distribute among his minions. Igramalash has learned the lessons of his transformation and captivity well—any troublesome underling is swiftly killed instead of having their torment drawn out.

headcanons: crucible knights in general
I feel like it’s an appropriate time to address this particular question, since I’m now writing two crucible knights on this blog.
What exactly are those beings? They don’t share a model with the player, but are clearly not of divine origin based on the pieces of lore that we have accumulated, like many of the bosses that we have met in the game. Who are those beings? Why are they here?
Based on their armor descriptions we can tell a few facts about them: “Armor of one of the sixteen ancient knights who served Godfrey.” And that the axe ornamentation was worn by Knight Ordovis and his men, whereas the tree ornamentation adorned the helms of Knight Siluria and her men ( @doehornedknight). They were the precursors of what would become today’s Golden Order, as the Erdtree was born out of the Primordial Crucible, yet eventually they would be seen as “chaotic and deserving of scorn” (gauntlet/leggings).
They are scattered seemingly without thought in the parts of the world, with their leaders Ordovis and Siluria thrown into seemingly forgotten parts that very few should be able to find their way in. Unlike the demigods, they bear no great rune and have no true backstory to them, yet they are much more powerful than regular soldiers with their ability to channel the body parts of dragons and use powerful, holy imbued weapons.
I like to imagine that they are not demigods, but comes very, VERY close to being such. It is not because of their servitude to Godfrey that they earned this status, it’s through them drawing their powers from the Primordial Crucible (Aspects of the Crucible incantations), imbuing them with powers that the later generations no longer understand as it is not a part of the Erdtree, resulting in them being scorned and hated by the general populace as it was deemed impure, a fact that Marika might have exploited to drive them out of public eye, as they were after all, once Godfrey’s elite Praetorian Guard, keeping them around would only spell trouble for her.
In essence, I believe that the Knights are as close as one can be to a demigod. They are once humans, but are hand selected by Godfrey and have been granted a much longer than normal lifespan by the Primordial Crucible atop of their vast array of powers. They are his elite guards, a small Order that numbered exactly sixteen, paladins who embodied a much older, much more powerful form of the Erdtree that many others today fail to understand.

A not-so-brief overview of my Skyrim Dova OCs bc i need to scream to the digital void about my ideas
Freyora Lind, more commonly known by her strange alias “Bjorne Icepick”
Tumblr media
A Nord-eventually-turned-werewolf who orphaned during the Great War and taken in by a Dunmeri mercenary whose residence was in Windhelm’s Gray Quarter. Grew up in a cramped boarding house setting among desperate mercenaries of varying backgrounds. Many of them would all come and go, but there was always some sort of a familial bond between them all.
From a young age she got in a lot of fights against people who insulted her for living in the Gray Quarter among the dark elves. Eventually she took a fight too far and was jailed for murder around 14, but was broken out shortly after by a band of masked vampires. Turns out some of her mercenary comrades unwittingly caught vampirism during a contract to clear out a vampire den and had to skip town, but not before ensuring one of their own wasn’t left to rot.
Lived in Cyrodil for about 15 years, but returned to Skyrim pursuing rumors surrounding a cure to vampirism, as her adoptive father would be nearing the end of his elven lifespan and had wished to die a normal death.
Seeing as she was literally a fugitive, and her long-belated parents were somewhat renowned for their battlefield prowess, she took on a false identity. AND an act to match it.
She’ll eat raw meat, chase prey with swords instead of using a bow like a normal person, harp about irrational conspiracy theories, and more. Everyone’s foul reactions to her outlandish act are plainly hilarious to her and only encourage her to act even stranger.
The alias “Bjorne Icepick” was simply the most ridiculous name she could think of.
Not the most morally outstanding. Besides drunken brawling, she’ll steal from anyone who angers her, even if it’s things she literally won’t ever need such as all the goblets in a household. It’s the pettiness that counts. “Try drinking your damn high-end wine now, jackass.”
Calls Dwarven Automatons “Gundams.” Including she herself, no one knows what that means.
Joins the Companions out of homesickness and a desire to fill in a gap that leaving home left.
Hasn’t bothered curing herself of lycanthropy because her whole schtick is being incredibly resourceful, and that includes using any means of power necessary. Still doesn’t fancy Hircine’s Hunting Grounds as her desired afterlife, though.
As her journey goes on, however, her lightheartedly eccentric face starts to fall off as a number of events push her to begin to question the legitimacy of her actions up until that point.
Some of which include the eventual death of her adoptive father (and how she was indirectly responsible for it even if it was what he wanted), Delphine’s ultimatum, the civil war as a collective, learning the tragic history behind the Falmer and the original Companions’ role in it, and killing of Vyrthur (no matter how much he genuinely deserved it).
She grows disgusted by herself down to the core. She takes to skooma to cope, and starts to be plagued by serious skooma-induced side effects. She ends up shutting herself away from all her responsibilities and distancing herself from her friends.
Does she get better? Maybe. I haven’t thought up anything past this point lol
Moureneris Alta
Tumblr media
A very, VERY ancient vampiric snow elf, (though it’s notable she was born a considerable amount of time after the razing of Sarthaal)
Survived many atrocities. Stayed in isolation with a band of vampires for countless years out of sheer disgust for the nature of the sapient races. (I’ll explain her full story some other time. It’s pretty complicated)
She was abducted from her isolated lifestyle by a certain person i’ll talk about later. She managed to free herself south of Skyrim, and uh, walks right into that Imperial ambush. The rest is history.
Super ignorant to modern society as a result of centuries of isolation. Exploited for comedic relief. (“What in the name of Oblivion is a Cyrodilic Empire? Are you messing with me? And please, how does levitation magic simply get outlawed by this hypothetical Empire? What are you to do when you fall down a crevice? Just... let yourself perish? How degrading.)
She reintegrated herself into society with vengeance in mind under the belief that all humans are savage bloodlusting murderers who had to answer for their treachery. (And she was royally angry there was no Dwemer left to spite, but partially satisfied at the same time). But she grows conflicted after being shown genuine kindness, even as early as being freed from her binds in Helgen.
Subsequently has a very muddled redemption arc. Queue Dragonborn hero stuff
She has impaired vision, but she cultivated detect life magic to aid her in daily life and combat (think Hyakkimaru from Dororo ‘19 and his soul detection or Toph Beifong from ATLA and her seismic sense). At her peak, she can detect life from about a kilometer away.
She can just barely read, but only if she holds the text incredibly close to her face, not to mention her Cyrodilic lessons were left unfinished after her abduction, making reading a very taxing process. Weary travelers are often spooked at the sight of a floating, ghastly looking elven woman with her nose pressed up against crossroad signs, and it has become somewhat of an urban legend.
Isn’t as nearly as skilled with detecting the dead and tenses up in burial crypts or around other vampires for that reason. Unfortunately, being the Dragonborn and all, she finds herself in a lot of crypts...
When questioned about her background due to her unique appearance: “Oh, yeah. My mother was one of those mer from the east. You know the ones. Dark elves, I think? And my father was one of those er, tall elv- no, sorry, HIGH elves. Yeah. They both died in a big fire or something though. It was horrible. I can’t get the noxious smell or the deafening screams out of my head. Good talk, but never ask me about that again.”
Queue sheltered old immortal antics: “Wow, you’re THAT old? Enlighten me on how it felt witnessing the fall of the Dwemer. Or perhaps the rise of Tiber Septim’s Empire. The Gates of Ob-“ “Oblivion if I know. I lived in someone’s basement for thousands of years. And I still don’t know what everyone means by Empire. You all are messing with me, aren’t you? That really annoys me.”
She ultimately returns to faith in Auri-El and makes it her life’s purpose to help the Betrayed find peace, as well as to seek out any remaining snow elf groups. Probably good friends with Gelebor or something.
Had a crush on Serana. We all know how THAT went. Damned temples.
Was originally gonna spiral into a much darker corruption arc (another ATLA comparison being Jet or Hama) but I just felt bad for her. Moureneris can have a little found peace. As a treat.
That’s her preliminary design made. I’ll need a mod to properly play her, because that right there was made by choosing Dunmer as her race. But I can’t do that. I’m on console, and while I got the Steam port a month ago, my PC’s stone age specs can’t handle Skyrim yet and I’ll need to wait until I can afford a better graphics card (thanks economic inflation)
Alexandre Armasi, jokingly nicknamed Alexandre the Curious
Tumblr media
A complete and unapologetic export of my character from a dead and unfinished DND campaign. Except there are no Aasimar in Skyrim, so he’s half Altmer half Bosmer. And his initial last name was Armas but I thought Armasi suited his Skyrim counterpart more, as subtle a change it is.
He’s mainly Bosmer in appearance and constitution, save for his hair and eyes, which are more similar to that of his Altmeri father’s.
I can’t really export his original backstory though because the campaign wouldn’t translate well into TES lore at all.
He’s a writer who came wandering into Skyrim in search of inspiration. While he mainly writes dramatic fables, he wanted to divert his focus to crafting his own bestiary and herbal compendium surrounding Skyrim’s fauna and flora. The ones at home are simply too vague to him!
He’s very altruistic, wishing to spread cheer wherever he goes, through the art of song (even though he was a cleric in DND and not a bard. My bad.) However, many of his verses are just blatant self promotions of his published fables.
But he’s too naive for his own good. Dangerously so. In fact, he says what’s on his mind with little forethought, with little grasp on the consequences of his actions, which lands him in lots of trouble. “I don’t favor him myself, but you guys kill people over Talos worship? That’s not very cool. A bit scary, if you ask me.” or “A Stormcloak rebel? Didn’t your leader kill a bunch of Reachmen rebels years back, or so I’ve heard. By the divines that’s not a man I’d make a symbol of nonconformity.”
He’s also insatiably curious. The type to ACTUALLY shove alchemic ingredients in his mouth with no knowledge of their properties, experiment with dangerous rune spells, throw rocks at pressure plates, and more. Needless to say he’s very accident prone.
Doesn’t know common curse words. People exploit this for laughs. Think that episode of Spongebob.
Everyone is a little baffled that HE of all people is the prophesied Dragonborn of legend. This agonizingly imbecilic writer who has absentmindedly wandered into burial crypts, troll dens, bandit forts, and more, too busy juggling his manuscripts to pay attention to his surroundings.
His past doesn’t exactly reflect his outlook on life. His mother and father fought in the Great War aligned with the Imperials despite their elven background. Both managed to live to see the war’s conclusion, but his father vanished without a trace shortly after, and it seems his mother knows something she won’t tell him.
With plenty of exposure to bad influences, his innocence is slowly lost throughout the course of his journey, and his altruism begins to grow twisted. But nevertheless, he maintains his jovial, social persona, except this time with much darker undertones. Kinda like a creepy dentist or something.
Whoops. He winds up becoming a feared Dark Brotherhood assassin. (Haha get it “Innocence Lost”???) He somehow deluded himself into thinking that the life of an assassin was the right thing to do. But he’s a funky little guy so he gets a pass for his heinous crimes against society

🌻 - Their Father🌷 - Their Mother
Meet More NPC’s! (Triggerwarning for rape, murder, and honestly lots of horrible shit really)
Rune Aromdee, once an A student the pride to her family and the type of girl everyonewanted to be. Shewas prettywith gentle golden eyes, long brown hair and a beautiful smile. Shewas a dreamerwith high hopes for the future. Shewas kind, a friend to all and the type thatwould never hurt another. Shewas from a middle class family that demanded excellence from her. They had high hopes of her becoming a scientist, for her to be rich and successful. Shewas on the right track for all of that and for so much more until she met Darryl.
DarrylWare a boy from a rich family that believed he had a right to anything he touched. Hewas popular at school, a football star, a charmer and confident in himself. Hewas attractive toowith dark brown hair, light blue eyes and freckles that covered his entire body. He had ambitions of success to become a famous football star and get any girl hewanted. Though he already could get any girl hewanted at his school that didn’t seem to be enough. He set his sights on Rune, a popular girl from the prestigious private art and sciences academy.
He became obsessedwith Rune and tried desperately towin her heart. But she always turned him down, claiming to not have time for a relationship. No matterwhat he did she was unswayed by his charm and seemed to almost fear him. She actively avoided him, spoke quieter when they talked and seemed to flinch away every time he attempted to grab her. He didn’t care that she feared him, he simplywanted her. No one elsewould do, nothing elsewould do. Because no one turned him down. No one said no to him.
Itwas finalsweek of junior year and Runewaswalking home alone after a study sessionwhen it happened. To this day she still remembers all too vividly and still can’t stand people grabbing her. Darryl pulled her by her hair into an alley and raped her. She tries not to think about it, tries not to remember. But no matter how hard she tries it always sneaks back into her mind.
Itwasn’t long until she found out shewas pregnant. Shewent to the police looking for help yet the officer she spoke toowas family to Darryl and convinced her not to press charges. Feeling deterred she tried turning to her friends but none of themwanted to be seenwith the school’s resident “slut”. Everyone in schoolwaswhispering about her and her pregnancy, wild accusations and rumors flew turning other students against her. Even her parents didn’t seem to believe her story. Everyone she once knew that could help turned her down.
She lost her scholarship to the private academy, her parents refused to help her raise her new son and even kicked her out once hewas born. Runewas left alone in aworld she’d once had so much hope for. Yet her hope never died, she got a full time job, stayedwith a friend that hadn’t left her and even got her own apartment for herself and Kalahan. She picked life up and kept going. Shewas only 18 and alone in theworldwith a child but she refused to give up.
As things got more difficult over the years for Rune she never gave up, she never stopped moving forward. She loved her son and took care of her as best she could. Everything she didwas for him, all her moneywent to taking care of him and any free time she might have had off fromworkwent to him. Shewas a good mother, kind, caring and doing her best to give her son the best life possible. But for some thatwasn’t enough. Social services came for Kalahanwhen hewas only five. They claimed Runewas unfit to be a parent, saying shewasn’t making enough to supper him and took him away. She didn’t knowwhere they took her son but she did know shewas going to do everything in her power to get him back. Sheworked harder and longer then ever before, saved more money and spent less in an attempt to make enough money to be considered a good parent. In the end itwas too late though.
Itwas a police officer that came to her door that told herwhat happened. The man thatwas caring for Kalahan had his home burnt downwith him in it. While they were searching for his remains though they found something. They found a child’s body. Several children’s bodies even andwith no sign of Kalahan around, the police informed her that her son had died. She couldn’t bare it, this news hit her and suddenly everything for her just seemed to stop. All her hopes and her dreams for getting her son back crumbled before her again.
Meanwhile Darryl felt his life was going perfectly. He had colleges lining up to offer him scholarships, he had a popular girlfriend, no one knew what he’d done to Rune and his parents were paying for a full ride for him to go to any college he chose. His last year of high school was perfect for him and gave him everything he desired. But college on the other hand was not so kind to him.
In college he was caught beating his girlfriend and quickly his reputation dropped. He lost his scholarship, he was kicked off the football team, his parents threatened to stop paying for his college and even told him he was lucky the police weren’t contacted. Not long after he couldn’t even stand to be at that college and dropped out. He moved far away from his parents and his old life to pick up a new one. Finding comfort in the city, hidden away in a bottle where the rest of the world couldn’t find him.
Except soon enough theworld did find him and this time it brought karmawith it. Hewas working as a constructionworker andwas spending the night at one of his favorite bars. He’d planned to stay there until he saw a face too familiar to let go. Freckled cheeks, dark hair and a face just like hiswhen hewas young stared at him from an alley. Yet this face had golden eyes like honey, the same type as thewoman that thought she could turn him down.
Hewas already drunk and belligerentwhen he made the mistake of approaching this boy. He began going on about how he knew the boy’s mother and how he knew the boywas a bastard, unwanted child. Hewent on and on aboutwhat he’d done to the boys mother. Until the boy had enough and attacked. The nextweek a missing persons reportwas filed for Darryl yet it seemed no one reallywanted to find him.
Rune fell into a deep depression that cost her, her job and even her home. Shewas left homeless and living alone on the streets for years. Life seemed to turn it’s back to her andwhile her kindness never ended, her happiness did. Itwasn’t until shewas in her thirties that things turned around for her. Awinning lottery ticket ending up hidden in her belongings, checks for amounts of money she’d only dreamt of being mailed to her doorstep once she got her own home and even a job at the planetarium like she’dwanted, sure itwas only a secretarial job but thatwas enough for her. She couldn’t explain this sudden turn around in luck orwhat had happened. But if she had to guess from the presents and flowers that are left on her doorstep every birthday and every mother’s day she’d say that itwas her little knight looking out for her.

While I’m certainly nowhere near ready for the story of the Mighty Nein to come to an end, I am also a D&D nerd and there’s a new sourcebook coming out soon with a bunch of new subclasses in it. By the time Campaign 3 of Critical Role gets underway, that book will be published, leaving a wealth of new options for the cast members to choose from, so why not entertain myself by making barely justified predictions of what the cast is most likely to pick for their next characters! (Disclaimer: Some of the new subclasses have been confirmed and some haven’t, so for a few of these picks I’m just going off of what I think is going to be in the book).
Travis
Cleric (Tempest Domain): Travis has been playing lowkey EMT since campaign one, and Laura’s already confirmed that Travis almost went cleric for campaign two. Between Grog with his barb-boosted movement speed to get around the battlefield so he could shove healing potions into his squishier teammates, and Fjord multiclassing into paladin and lovingly tapping his friends with single hit points to get them back up, it would be delightful to see him fully jump in and embrace the classical healer role. Of course, this is Travis, so I don’t see him picking a cleric domain that doesn’t allow for at least some whoop-ass, and Tempest Domain brings plenty of it. You get proficiency with all armor and weapons, Divine Strike at level 8 for boosted melee damage, you can use a reaction to inflict lightning or thunder damage against any enemy within melee range that’s hit you. And if you climb up high enough in levels, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking one whenever you’re outdoors. Pretty nifty, and makes for a fitting subclass for a guy that’s voiced Thor on multiple occasions.
Blood Hunter (Order of the Lycan): I mean, come on. The only reason it isn’t number one is that it was already widely assumed this would be Travis’s pick for campaign two, and I wouldn’t put it past him to surprise us again. But still, we saw him get a taste in Liam’s one shot and he was clearly having the time of his life. Besides, we lost Molly far too early to really see the blood hunter’s potential come to life; it would be damn cool to see someone else take a crack at it, and Travis is enough of a D&D gambler to not shy away from the class’s riskier features.
Artificer (Armorer): Speaking of Marvel connections, if Travis doesn’t lean toward fantasy Thor, then fantasy Iron Man might catch his attention instead. Artificer is an official class now, and since it’ll be reprinted in TCoE by the time campaign 3 gets underway, it’ll be a lot more visible as an option. The Armorer sits in almost a perfect middle ground of what Travis has done before: tanky and a frontliner, but also still has spells and tricks to help the party. Plus, you get a badass suit of power armor out of it. What’s not to like?
Marisha
Bard (College of Creation): After Hazel Copperpot, we all saw the pure magic that was Marisha Ray playing a bard. I know she implied that Hazel was supposed to be her campaign two backup character, but I hope this doesn’t discourage her from making another one. There are quite a few bard subclasses, a number of which I could see her being drawn to (Lore, Glamour, maybe even Swords), but I really vibe with the idea of Creation. I can’t exactly say why; maybe the idea of the ‘dancing object’ feature in Marisha’s hands is very funny to me (remember Keyleth’s adorable “Be Our Guest” moment? That, but this time it’s a walking wardrobe beating the shit out of the enemy).
Paladin (Oath of Vengeance/Conquest): As of yet, no one on Critical Role has ever played a paladin from the start, only multiclassed later down the line. I think this would be a cool departure for Marisha. Both campaigns she’s played characters that were either suspicious or at least indifferent to faith and the gods. Paladins are typically associated with deities, but they’re not tied quite so closely to them as clerics are. It would be fascinating to see what she did with it. As for the subclass, I just think Marisha’s earned her turn on the Goth Character Carousel, and while I know Conquest paladin is very unlikely given its moral grayness by default which might cause undue conflict and that Vengeance is a much more likely and acceptable pick, I just think it would be a sexy character choice.
Wizard (Bladesinger/Graviturgist): This is a much more pie-in-the-sky, wishful thinking pick on my end, but not impossible imo. Marisha has experience with heavy spellcasting already, so she probably wouldn’t shy away from a wizard, but like Travis I suspect she likes a bit of oomph to her characters, and probably wouldn’t play as support heavy as Caleb does. To that end, Bladesingers get a bit more survivability and some modicum of physical prowess alongside their spells, while Graviturgists are definitely on the more aggressive side of the spectrum for wizard subclasses, with unique dunamancy spells to boot. I’m not sure how restrictive Matt would be about Xhorhassian characters in the next campaign if it takes place on another continent, but hey, you never know. Plus, she picked one of Matt’s homebrew subclasses for the current campaign; it would be cute if it happened again.
Liam
Druid (Circle of the Shepherd): At some point before Critical Role comes to end (hopefully far in the future), I know Liam’s gonna play a druid, I can feel it in my bones. He's too big of a Kiki fan not to. However, while Circle of the Moon might feel obvious given the potential for homage and how much he likes turning into animals, I feel like he might regard it as getting too close to old territory (also, I don’t know if Circle of the Moon is like an exclusive thing to the Ashari tribes, and if it is that would be rather restrictive for building a backstory). If that’s the case, Circle of the Shepherd feels like the next best bet. It has some great support options via the totems you can put down, and rather than becoming badass animals, you instead just get really good at summoning a fuck ton of them. It’s like Frumpkin, but ten of him. And they’re bears. (Honorable mention: If Circle of the Moon would feel like treading old territory then I’m certain Circle of Wildfire would too, but I’d bet my dice collection it would at least be tempting).
Cleric (Unity Domain): Listen. The pure sap potential that would be at Mr. O’Brien’s fingertips with this subclass is incredible. The domain all about strengthening and protecting the bonds between friends and loved ones?? The domain with the Channel Divinity that can spread damage taken by one creature across the party however the cleric chooses to distribute it to lessen the blow to the individual??? The domain that used to be called the Love Domain???? I’m practically gagging on the soft moments and unspoken devotion conveyed through spellcasting already.
Fighter (Rune Knight/Psi Knight): Liam has yet to play a tank in a long-term campaign, and while I’m more enamored with the potential of the above classes, it would be novel to see him play a character with an actually respectable amount of hit points. However, I feel like if he was gonna commit to a straight frontliner, he’d probably want something a little more unique than a Champion or Battle Master (especially since he’s played those already for one-shots). Rune Knight has some fun options and built-in flavor, and with Psi Knight you can basically be a Jedi. Not bad options at all if you ask me.
Taliesin
Warlock (Fiend): Yeah, it might be expected, or Percy might have been too close to warlock anyway to feel like there’s new ground to cover, but hear me out. Both Percy (who, let’s face it, was a warlock multiclass in all but the actual mechanics) and Fjord were the classic reluctants. They got in over their heads without really knowing what was going on, and once they did they wanted out, cutting ties with their patrons and getting clear with only the scars remaining. I want to see Taliesin commit to a warlock in a way I imagine only he could manage to pull off. How fun would that balancing act be, to have a character that has no intentions of breaking their pact, who’s here for the powers, and is willing to work that delicate balancing act between keeping what he’s got and not letting his contract holder get the better of him? Give it to meeeeee.
Sorcerer (Psionic Soul): Psionic Soul has a bit of that eldritch flavor that vibes with Taliesin so much, with the added interest of introducing a brand new feature to 5E, the Psi Die (with this subclass, using them can do things like letting a sorcerer learn a spell they don’t already know for a few hours, allow you to cast spells without needing verbal, somatic, or material components, and can give you telepathy). Taking both Percy and Molly into account, it seems Tal likes to lean into those unique additional mechanics, and while Psi Die aren’t as risk-heavy as Gunslinger or Bloodhunter, they do add a layer of variability and unpredictability that seems to match his style.
Rogue (Swashbuckler): We only got a little bit of time with Molly, and so missed out on the opportunity to see Tal play a more cavalier character this time around. If he feels like leaning away from spells next time and back toward martial, I think a high-charisma, high-swinging swashbuckler from Tal would be a delight to watch.
Laura
Barbarian (Path of the Ancestral Guardian): Laura deserves to hit things, okay? Yes, spellcasting is great and comes in clutch frequently and Jester’s amazing, but you can tell Laura misses doing fat stacks of damage to the enemy in a single round. I personally think it would be amazing to watch her just cut loose and go full rage machine. As for the subclass, I’m not glued to the idea, but Ancestral Guardians are pretty kickass, have decent support capabilities for a barb without detracting from their DPS at all, and it doesn’t tread on any previous characters’ toes or their aesthetics.
Rogue (Scout/Soulknife): Laura deserves to play her favorite class at last, okay? She’s been class poached two campaigns in a row, and though that resulted in both Vex and Jester and I wouldn’t trade them for the world, Laura has earned first pick. Seeing as she already dipped into Assassin as Vex and Sam took Arcane Trickster, I could see Scout being a viable subclass choice. It’s in the classic sneaky vein, relatively simple in concept, but comes with features that grant easy-to-understand benefits that you can never turn your nose up at (boosts to movement, advantage on initiative, giving advantage against a target to everyone else in the party, etc.). If she’s looking for something a bit flashier, Soulknife has the benefit of retroactively dunking on Vax by taking the basic knife-rogue and making it better, with psionic knives that you can manifest with a thought, that can teleport you around Whisper style, and cranking up that stealth to ridiculous levels by just being able to turn invisible for ten minutes, no concentration or spell needed. The psionic die mechanics are a little funky of course, but I don’t imagine it’s any trickier than learning to manage all those cleric spells.
Monk (Way of the Open Hand): Between Beau just being super cool and her brief stint as Farriwen Breeze, monk wouldn’t be a surprising pick from Laura. An Open Hand monk might be the definitive version everyone knows, but you can’t deny it’s a solid subclass, and between previous overlap and the concepts of the other subclasses just not seeming to fit, I could see the classic being what she went with. But hey, it’s Laura Bailey. She could surprise us with Way of the Drunken Master or something.
Sam
Ranger (Monster Slayer): Let’s be real, I don’t think this would be his actual first pick for a Campaign 3 character, but the amount of shit-stirring he could achieve by making a character with the aim of pissing off Laura Bailey specifically would be hilarious (and since Matt isn’t completely opposed to UA and acknowledges that PHB ranger has a lot of issues, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went Revised Ranger this time).
Warlock (Genie): Actual first pick here, Pact of the Genie Warlock is confirmed by now, and the potential of a warlock in the hands of Sam Riegel is pretty vast (for some reason I’m imagining he would go the ‘spoiled sugar baby’ route). The subclass doesn’t matter as much, but the Genie one is nice in that, depending on the type of genie patron you pick, you can get a wide variety of extra spells, you get a container like a classic lamp or lantern that you can bamf into for short rests, and you get a limited Wish ability for your capstone, all features I feel like would especially appeal to Sam.
Barbarian (Path of the Wild Soul): I want to see Sam play a fairy barbarian. ‘Nough said.
Ashley
Fighter (Eldritch/Echo Knight): Ashley really seems to vibe with the crushing power of martial classes (she does love her brutal kill descriptions), so I could see her sticking with it rather than going back to full caster. However, I do see her picking one of the magical subclasses for some variety after Yasha. Eldritch Knight is a classic and reasonably easy to manage, but tbh I’d LOVE for it to be Echo Knight. And think, if my wishful thinking came true, with Ashley picking an Echo Knight and Marisha playing a Graviturgist wizard, they could link up their backstories and be a traveling Kryn battle duo that left their homeland behind to explore the world!
Sorcerer (Draconic): If she does want to go back to full-time casting, Sorcerer doesn’t require near as much bookkeeping as a cleric, druid, or wizard while still having decent variety, and the Draconic subclass is a bit beefier than the other subclasses. Also, it would be the third campaign in a row where Ashley Johnson’s character eventually got wings, soooo...
And tbh I have no idea what a third pick might be for Ashley, so I’m just gonna throw a dart or two at the board and say either College of Whispers Bard or Way of Mercy Monk *Shrug* We can only wait and see!
