This… new life, essentially, had become so dear, possibly way to fast.

But how could it not? No visions, no pressure from his mother, no hate or distrust and fear from the villagers? A niece that loves him? How could Bruno ever dislike it.

With Mirabel quickly gaining traction as a seamstress and Bruno’s own plays gathering attention, they decided they couldn’t stay at the inn forever.

It had taken them a couple months but eventually Mirabel and Bruno had saved up enough that they could afford an actual place to live. So they went looking and found a small, affordable, little house.

Bruno won’t lie, going from living in Casita to a normal place is a huge change- but one he couldn’t be happier to have made. The house was small sure, but it was perfect.

“And most importantly, Tío! It’s ours!” His niece had told him when they moved in. And now, looking at the walls filled with trinkets and covers for his plays or the photos and fabric messes that had yet to be cleaned from his nieces most recent creative spike. It was. It was their home, his home.

He hummed happily as he worked on his next play. The little old ladies that originally were the only ones who saw them asked about a new ratnovela.

Sure nowadays he has actual actors as he got hired by the theatre but during the monthly meeting with them he always runs by new ideas. And besides, the rats love to do them.

Not only that but they let him coo about his niece as they all do the same with their children and, in some cases, grandchildren.

Honestly, he loved it. And Sophie’s apple pie is a bonus.

So it’s not surprising that when he went to the meeting and they were talking about how a person was going around looking for someone named Madrigal, he nearly choked.

Bruno excused himself from the group far earlier, saying he wanted to get his niece something for working so hard. They all nodded and as he left he tried to ignore the knowing look in Widowed Delores, who he knew was older than even his own mother.

He had to tell Mirabel and warn her.

Louisa couldn’t handle it. Everything was so different and everyone was staring at her. When she helped a man up and fixed his cart they all looked at her different and she couldn’t understand why.

But she had a job to do. She was gonna find her little sister.

“Please, her name’s Mirabel Madrigal, have you seen her?” She had asked and asked and asked with no luck.

Her hermanita had disappeared and no one knew where she went. They hadn’t even noticed for days! That was when Louisa realized that her family might not be as great as everyone in Encanto had said.

For it to have driven not one but two of their own out, they couldn’t be great- hardly even good in her opinion.

Louisa had been traveling for a while now when she stumbled into a village that boasted about their theatre and seamsters. She helped out an inn owner and he said she could stay for a night free. She had thanked him.

She went up and delicately moved around before sitting on the bed to eat some of the food her mother packed her.

Soon after she fell asleep.

When morning came, Louisa ate and immediately set out to work- after she thanked the owner again.

“Again, I would not have been able to get my cart back without a horse. Thank you.” And those words made her feel fuzzy.

None of the villagers in Encanto has thanked her as sincerely in years. She wants to cry.

She doesn’t.

But she does ask around.

It’s near midday when she spots a boutique. Maybe it’s the fact that Mirabel loved- loves- sewing, but she walked in.

Her heart stops.

“Hello! Welcome to Cloth Dreams how may I- LOUISA?”

“Mirabel.” She breathed out. Louisa’s done it. She found her baby sis-

“MIRABEL THEY’RE LOOKING FOR US!” Louisa turns to the voice instinctively- and oh. She’s found Uncle Bruno too.

Runaway Dolores AU

An AU where Dolores leaves the Madrigal family.

Dolores would never admit it out loud, but she didn’t feel she fit in with her family…

Her parents seemed so social and extroverted, Camilo was graceful and could make the most grumpy person smile, Isabela was beloved by everyone, and Abuela constantly said that everyone should be grateful for their gifts…

Well, Dolores viewed her “gift” more as a curse…

She always clashed with her mother. Pepa was very loud and didn’t often think about her daughter. So Dolores just kept her distance from both her parents. Her father always followed her mother around anyways…

And the rest of the family wasn’t that different. Well, except Tío Bruno, but he had gone into the walls. And she and Mirabel weren’t that close…

Dolores often wished she could just get out of the Encanto and go somewhere else…

But when she was 19, she finally made that decision when Alma and Pepa scolded her on how she should be grateful for having a wonderful gift, and that she should be lucky to not be as useless like Mirabel. Pepa even thundered out of annoyance.

It was than that her decision was made. Dolores was gonna go her own path.

That night, she packed as much clothing as she could, as well as steal some food from her Tía, and left Casita to try and find a way out of the Encanto.

And surprisingly, Dolores did. She found a crack in the mountains, and was able to fit through it and made her way out.

And eventually, she saw a city. Some place strange to her, but one where she’d start a new life…

Part 4. Adventure

"What are you doing?" Luisa winced as she heard her hermanita's voice behind her. She turned around, placing the donkey that she was carrying right now on the ground.

 

"Nothing special, just catching the runaway donkey." Luisa smiled at her hermanita, reaching to ruffle her hair. Mirabel slightly crouched, letting out an awkward chuckle. "What about you? Shouldn't you be with Mami?"

 

The young girl put her hands on her sides proudly as she explained, holding out a picnic basket. "I want to be a big girl, and mami asked me to find ushun in the forest! And she told me to get you." She was speaking so fast that Luisa missed the half of the speech.

 

"Do you need my help?" She bent a little to pat Mirabel's head. "Give me a minute." She grabbed the donkey again, running quickly to the barn to leave it there. Luisa was so fast that her hermanita couldn't catch up with her until she stopped by the old wooden building.

 

"O-oof." Mirabel exhaled, bending a little, and sweat drops appeared on her forehead.

 

"You could just wait for me." Luisa said worriedly, kneeling to be one height with her hermanita, and quickly fixing her glasses that were slightly off.

 

She looked at Luisa like she had just gotten offended personally, biting her lip. Luisa sighed, lifting her up as if she were a kitten. "Lead the way!" Luisa smiled at her, putting her hermanita on her shoulders.

 

Mirabel burst into laughter, and soon Luisa bent, clutching her belly in a wild giggle. "Run!" Her hermanita commanded, so Luisa jumped forward.

 

She knew that those golden berries were just by the edges of the wooded area, but grownups are usually forbidden to go on there by themselves. Encanto might be a town where everybody is sure that no one ever thinks about anything bad. (Especially when one certain little girl could hear everything.) But the forest was full of wild nature and predatory animals with their sharp teeth and claws. So being nearby was dangerous, and Luisa didn't think that she or her Hermanitas ever were in here before Luisa got her gift.

 

"We're here!" Luisa shuddered at Mirabel's scream. She stretched out her hand, pointing at the shimmering golden glimpses in the foliage.

 

Luisa grinned, leaning slightly, ready to take off. "You have to tighten your grip!" She advised two seconds before taking off with all her inhuman speed. Two of them almost ran into the bushes, but Luisa braked at the last moment, slamming her feet into the ground. The basket hit the grass.

 

"It was fast." Mirabel muttered, shaking a little bit. Luisa caught her just as she was about to fall.

 

"Quiet there." Luisa smiled, putting Hermanita on her feet. Mirabel giggled, wiping her face, still slightly staggering. She squatted down to pick up the basket of berries, then quickly disappeared between the thin twigs. Luisa had to push the bushes to crawl through them and make sure that Mira was doing okay; she was pretty tall and buff for her age. In fact, she's already outgrowned Isabela, much to her discontent, even though she kept insisting that it was just a sudden growth spurt and that she would be taller than Luisa again in a few months. But Isabela had to grow really tall for that because Tío Bruno had a really important mission for Luisa.

 

"I can't let Pepa be the tallest biological Madrigal." He explained once when it became clear that Luisa was the tallest grandchild right now. "I'll buy you an ice cream for every centimeter above her height."

 

And Luisa wanted to have an ice cream or two, so she immediately promised to be the tallest one.

 

Anyway, right now she has to watch over Mirabel. The mentioned kid was looking through the greenery to find more ushun berries in here.

 

"Can we look around the jungle?" Mirabel suddenly moved her face to look at Luisa with a begging expression. She swallowed, looking away.

 

"It could be dangerous." Luisa pursed her lips, holding her elbow. She wanted to see a deeper part of the forest too, but Mirabel was too young for that. Something might go wrong.

 

"Please!" These big, innocent eyes were staring at Luisa's soul. Well, it's no surprise that Mirabel was Abuela's favorite, stealing that place from Isa.

 

Luisa sighed, taking Mirabel's hand. "Don't let go of me." Then I thought a bit and added. "Dolores, don't tell mamí." I'll make you a milkshake." It's not like Luisa knew the recipe, but she could ask mamí for one.

 

The leaves were rustling under their feet. Somewhere nearby, the water in the river was murmuring. Oh, by the way, Luisa had to reroute it soon. She led Mirabel to the sound, stopping at the edge of the coast.

 

Mirabel beamed, quickly taking off her shoes and trying to jump in the quiet flow of water, stopping in the air with Luisa's heavy hand. "Be careful," she sighed, letting Mira a bit down to touch the water but not the bottom of the river.

 

"Sorry." She gigged. "Can we go down with it?"

 

Luisa shrugged. "Why not?" They had to return in the same way, so it wasn't really important where they went.

 

They weren't really far away from the field, so very soon they weren't walking between the trees.

 

Luisa couldn't help but roll her eyes as she saw how one of Señor Rendon's donkeys was nibbling grass nearby. Again... Didn't she collect them like... twenty minutes ago?"

 

Mirabel pulled her sleeve to get her attention. "The donkeys look like unicorns."

 

"Well, I heard that donkeys and horses look alike." Luisa explained, she actually read it in the book. Technically, she couldn't prove it for real since horses weren't living in Encanto, but according to images, it was true. "And a unicorn is a horse with a horn."

 

"Why are there no unicorn donkeys?" Mirabel crossed her arms. "I bet they would like to be one."

 

Luisa giggled, putting her hands on her sides. "You're right!" She exclaimed confidently. "We have to invent a unicorn-donkey." She scratched her head in thought. "A donkey with a corn..."

 

"A donkey-corn!" Mirabel exclaimed happily, throwing her hands in the air, making some of the berries fall out of the basket in her palm.

 

Donkeycorn? It seems like a good idea!

Hello! Random question: What specific villains do you headcanon as being on the Isle of the Lost who weren't confirmed to be there (i.e. Prince Hans of the Southern Isles would presumably be on the Isle, as the antagonist of Frozen, although he was never mentioned in any of the movies/books/webisodes)?

Well, to be honest, I don't think anything after Tangled is canonically in Descendants. In fact, I think Frozen, Moana, Raya, Encanto, the Fairies movies, and a few other things, should be counted out of the Descendants' universe canon.

From what can be deduced from canon (movies/books/webseries), the Villains we didn't see mentioned but should be there could/should be:

Monsieur D'arque (BatB, the owner of the asylum)

Nasira (Jafar's sister, pretty much canon give the existence of Jay's cousin Jade. Jade can't be his maternal cousin because he canonically doesn't know who his mother is)

Morgana (Ursula's sister from the second movie)

Varian and Cassandra (Tangled the Series, which I have not seen though. I know they redeemed themselves at the end, but Auradon's purity culture don't seem to consider that, think of Iago and Anastasia Tremaine, just to say a few)

Kronk (same reasoning as above)

Sarouch and Madeleine (The Hunchback of ND 2)

Magiafuoco (from Pinocchio, Stromboli in the eng version)

Lucignolo (Lightwick in the eng version, he was a thief other than a runaway)

The Cat and Fox (I don't remember the ridiculous english names and I don't want to look it up, they're from Pinocchio too)

In hindsight, I feel like I should have given it a few more revisions before I hit post. My writing schedule got thrown off with some real-life stressors and I couldn’t update for 3 weeks. But it’s kinda too late - quite a readers seem to be enjoying it. I’ll probably make some updates and mention them in Chapter 4.

guys im imagining stupid but funny stuff again

so when i first watched encanto and it got to the scene where bruno has a vision with mirabel, it hit me that he has the same voice actor as sid the sloth from the ice age series....... so of course im gonna accidentally imagine the madrigals in random scenes from the ice age movies instead of doing normal life stuff

(not the entire movies, just these scenes alone)

 (its absolutely ridiculous but its honestly really funny to imagine the madrigals in these scenes). these are the main scenes i can imagine:

1. food glorious food from ice age 2 = antonio listening to king vultures sing while the other grandkids panic

i flipping love this musical number in ice age 2. literally all i can see is luisa, isabela, dolores, mirabel and camilo panicking when a flock of king vultures are surrounding them while antonio is off at the side dancing to the vultures singing as he is the only one that can understand what they are saying

2. meeting crash and eddie from ice age 2 = dealing with 5 year old mirabel and camilo

i honestly love the headcannon that mirabel and camilo are best friends that cause mischief. in this one i can imagine bruno trying to catch the 2 of them, pepa or felix jumping in the help, only for both of them to be outsmarted by the 2 kids

3. runaway eggs from ice age 3 = alma trying to get her kids under control/babysitting with bruno

its hard looking after 3 kids at once, especially when theyre running away from you down a hill. (i can imagine bruno babysitting dolores, isabela and luisa)

4. ice slide from ice age = either the triples, the tio’s, or the grandkids

i LOVE picturing this scene with the madrigals, i flipping love it. i can imagine 3 scenarios with this one as well. the first one being the triplets with baby luisa with julieta being manny, pepa being diego, and bruno of course being sid. the second one being the tio’s with baby camilo with felix as manny, and agustin being diego. and third is with the grandkids, with antonio flying down a slide, dolores tightly clinging onto isabela (diego), camilo and mirabel managing to catch antonio only for both of them to fall down a hole (sid), and luisa being the one to catch anotnio (manny). once again, stupid but funny

5. sid vs the dodo’s = jorge/hernando rescuing the candle

this has to be one of the best sid the sloth moments in the ice age series... so of course im gonna imagine bruno in this scene, well hernando or jorge anyway. i was picturing a bunch of people trying to steal the candle for themselves for some reason when bruno manages to get his hands on it first, hes surrounded but hernando/jorge come to the rescue and he ends up bulldozing through everyone to safety

i honestly had no idea who was better to imagine in this scene because you’ve got “i can do parkour and im scared of nothing” hernando but then you also have “i can charge through walls” jorge, i dunno, its funny either way

6. i believe i can fly from ice age 2 = camilo getting launched out of a tree

thats literally it, all i can see is camilo convincing luisa to pull back a tree branch so he can land in a pond, only for camilo to fly through the air and slam into a tree instead

Observer Mirabel was staring inside Casita, seeing the Mirabel drag Bruno with her, she feels pity for Bruno, being dragged into the glorious drama she has been waiting for.

Observer Mirabel grins, snapping her fingers and making popcorn appear before her.

"You better tell me this damn AU is nore amazing than the others Scrap, have you SEEN her song!? It's pure 'Hero to Villain'!" She asks while eating popcorn.

Scrappy Mirabel just sits with her hands below her chin, eyes narrowed but filled with amusement. "Forget about the Runaway AU, this has more songs and a new level of drama." Scrap exclaims, Observer looks at her.

"Ya think? This Mirabel has sass! SASS! I'D RATHER GET AN AUTOGRAPH THAN MAKE A WHOLE SCRIPT OF HER SINGING!" Scrappy Mirabel rolls her eyes when Observer said that.

They both froze.

"LUISA SAW BRUNO OH SHI-"

"OH HOHOHOOOO HER VILLAIN ARC IS JUST BEGINNING SCRAP."

Bruno has left behind the Encanto and the Madrigal name. But he never quite shakes the legacy, and when his village is attacked and his family threatened, he steps up.

History rhymes, but doesn’t repeat.

Sustaining an injury only Julieta can heal, his family sets out to bring him back to the Encanto.

Chapter 4

Request: Mirabel decides to run away and Bruno comes out the walls to go with her to "protect" her (we all know Mirabel is the fighter in this duo). They settle into a new village and are going by a new last name. The family doesn't realize she is gone for three whole days (say Antonio is busy getting used to his gift and helping the community).

Mirabel wiped the tears from her eyes. Abuela had implied not only that she was lying or imagining, but that she was drunk as well. Her mom tried to help.

She decided to write a letter for Antonio. She decided she’d leave it in his toy basket.

She didn’t have a choice, did she? She never stood a chance. “I’m sorry Casita. I just… I can’t stay here.” The tiles around her jingled as she and Casita packed her things.

Her sewing kit, two spare outfits, some fabric was folded neatly into a bag. In the bag, she added in some of her creations as well.

Casita helped her down to the kitchen where in her mochila, they gathered some extra arepas and one of their knives.

“Goodbye Casita.” She says as she walks out the door, unaware of a pair of eyes following her.

Mirabel had made it to the base of the mountain when she heard rustle of the leaves behind her.

“Hey! Mirabel! Wai-!” Her fist made contact as she swung around in fright. The person falling down in pain. “Holy-!!”

“I’m so sorry! I just there was the leaves and I don’t know you and I am so so sorry!” She cried out as she knelt beside him, pulling out one of the arepas she brought.

“It’s okay, I scared you.” He muffles out, holding his nose with one hand. He takes and eat the arepa. His nose healing and hand moving away.

No way. It’s her uncle.

“Bruno?”

After a brief reacquainting, Mirabel finds her self with an extra set of hands as they make their way out of the Encanto. Bruno tells her why he left. Why he followed her as well.

They make it out and it takes a while but they finally find another village. She sells a couple of the outfits she’s made and makes enough to get them a place to sleep for the night.

Her uncle gives the innkeeper a fake family name. Diaz, he says.

“Out here we’re not Madrigals anymore.” Bruno tells her as an explanation. The room is small and cramped but there’s a window, a bathroom, and a chair. He tells her to take the bed.

They make a plan to ration the arepas until they can get a steady income.

“Goodnight Mirabel.”

Bruno and her both set out to get jobs the next day.

Mirabel is able to sell more of her creations when she happens upon a seamster. The man compliments her work and asks who trained her.

She tells the truth. She’s taught herself and the man tells her to meet him tomorrow at his shop.

Tells her, he’s always got a spot for people with talent.

She’s happy when she tells her uncle and is surprised when he’s happy for her too.

He surprises her again with a present.

“I did a couple visions for people. And on my way back, well, uh…. You like making things right?” He says as he hands over some more fabric. “I know we need to save some money but it was cheap, I swear! And I just…” She hugs him and buries her face in his ruana. He tentatively hugs her back.

Antonio is exhausted. He didn’t realize the animals and villagers had so many disputes. And the past couple of days Abuela had him stay by her and Isabela.

Isabella and Mariano got engaged and Dolores seemed really sad. And even worse, he hasn’t been able to see Mirabel at all. And every meal time when he asks, everyone says she’s probably just sewing.

Which seemed weird since Mirabel always made sure the table was set and was present for every meal before.

He decided to play with some of the toys she made him when he found it. Reading through it, tears welled up. Mirabel had left.

Gripping the letter tightly, he sobbed as he ran to his mom.

As the days turned into weeks, Mirabel got a job as an apprentice seamstress. Bruno, however, was made to stop giving visions when she found out how much they hurt.

Lately, he’s been acting out his ratnovelas and writing them down. The rats all wear outfits she’s made and people have been adoring them.

“Welcom home sobrina!” Mirabel hears as she walks in. “Might not be as good as your mom’s but I made arepas!” Mirabel grins. This was so much better then at encanto.

💙 Isabela  is one of the worst out of all of them she will grow your favorite flowers and make a cute little flower crown but she will also follow you around to see what the people do with you she mostly hides away so you don't know if she's there and once they notice you are overwhelmed they kind of back off but when they don't she immediately gets out find you and picks you up with their Vine so you don't overwork yourself

💙lusia  is almost the same as Isabela except she picks you up and brings you along to her work which you usually help her for with your technology but then she stops you so you don't overwork yourself she will pick you up like your bag of rocks if you even talk to someone you like no one would be worthy of Your Love

💙Maribel  personally she will definitely take advantage of the technology sometimes but because they break in a day it's not really useful so usually takes up her sewing machine to make it go faster and she is very very grateful for you so she's very over protective over you practically following you everywhere and when she randomly burst in the song half the time it's about you

💛Pepa and Fèlix are probably going to be on your back most of the time trying to get you a break if the people are taking advantage of you so properly get some rest whenever Pepa has her thunderstorms usually calm her down and whenever you are with Fèlix and someone starts flirting with you expect them to mediately runaway the glare will honestly make them pissed their pants

Instead of Mirabel runs away after casita falls, she instead runs away during Antonio's ceremony using the party as a distraction to run away at night since the family and the whole town is partying and not paying attention to her. The family only realize Mirabel was gone the next day but she was already far gone and left the encanto.

I'm sure the Madrigals (including Abuela, despite what people think) would do anything in their power to find Mirabel and when she was found they'll convince her to come back.

I'm just bothered by the fact that alot of fanfic just made Alma the villain like "we should stop looking for Mirabel, it's been 2 days she's probably dead now let's go back to our duties and forget about her. She has no gift anyway so she's not worth it." And the rest of the family didn't say anything or stood up to Alma. Like wut?

I don't like Runaway Mirabel tropes, truth be told. And I've never wondered how it would play out if she really decided to leave.

But... Well, we saw both in the film and in that one deleted scene that Alma cared for Mirabel, even if it took their house falling apart and her leaving for her to realise that. So yeah, I think she'd put the effort into trying to find Mirabel. She might have not done that with Bruno (we don't know, so I theorise) but Bruno was 40 when he disappeared, and Mirabel is barely 15, a girl to that, and the world, as Alma remembered it, is dangerous. Especially if there's a war going on (and then there was a war in Colombia. Alma might have not known this particular fact but she remembered the war that made her leave her town and lose her husband, and I guess she's fairly certain such things still happen outside the Encanto).

I think Alma would try, even if Mirabel run away during Antonio's ceremony so before Alma realised her mistakes. I think she'd do that because she remembered how she felt, as a mother, when it turned out Bruno is gone. I'm sure she worried for him for 10 years. And I'm sure Alma wouldn't want Julieta to go through the same.

And yeah, the family agreeing to that? We saw in the movie that her family looked for her for the whole night, for many, maaany hours. I'm sure they'd do anything to find her. Dolores would walk to the edges of the Encanto, trying to hear her, Antonio would send his animals for the search, Alma would send the hunters (I'm sure their village had some hunters, they need skin and so on after all) to look for her. Hunters know how to search. They know the tracks, and how to look for animals, so finding a human, especially with Antonio's animal friends, shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe even the family members would leave. I think Alma would be determined to find Mirabel, and she'd be the first to offer leaving Encanto to search for her. She's the only one (until we agree with a headcanon that Agustin comes from the city) who knows (more or less, even if her knowledge is 50 years out-of-date) the world outside.

I'd read the fic where Alma goes out in a search of Mirabel, I won't lie. I think... I think Julieta wouldn't leave Encanto not because she doesn't want to, but because she's afraid Mirabel would get back when she's away, and that she would be hurt and need her help, so she has to be there. Pepa wouldn't go either, her gift would possibly freak the people out and we (nor them) have no idea if gifts work outside the Encanto and if they do, if they get weaker the further they go from the Candle or not. Antonio would stay in the village too. But the rest? Off they go, I'm almost certain.

Everything and nothing: Mirabel still doesn't get a gift, but Felix and Agustine teach her that being normal isn't so bad. She even makes some money by mending and creating clothes for the residents of Encanto, Alma still ignores her and Isabela still thinks she's better than Mirabel even if Mirabel is praised by the villagers for her USEFUL gift as Isabela's is pushed aside for the problems her flowers and vines via their roots can cause. Alma still praises Isabela over Mirabel, constantly dragging the girl down, ignoring the roots of the problem. But the sisters both discover the cracks when Isabela and Luisa follow Mirabel, who leaves the party for some air. Isabela, thinking Mirabel just wants attention, strikes her with a thorny vine and runs off when more cracks appear. She later denies the cracks, and striking Mirabel, when Luisa tries to come to her younger sister's defense. This leads to a divide in the family, when Mirabel's scars don't heal and her eye is blinded. Alma, Julietta, Pepa, Felix and Isabela -even when she knows better- think it was just a sibling spat. Everyone else thinks the opposite, leading to tension with Agustine in his marriage to Julieta and barely there relationship with Alma as well as strong sense of brotherhood with Felix. This all comes to a head when Mirabel wants to fix the miracle and comes to Luisa and Dolores for help, Agustine, Camilo and Antonio want to help too. But the road to the truth is now, given rising tension and something - be it the miracle or Julieta and Agustine's marriage - is going to break the camel's back.

Runaway Miracle: Mirabel runs away from home during Antonio's gift ceremony, as all the animals are flocking to Casita Madrigal. She becomes a hunter, a trapper, living out on the border of the Encanto

Cocoons: Mirabel is given the gift of seeing the past, opposite to Bruno's future sight. It's really strange, because it also leads to her knowing things she shouldn't much like Dolores

Sky's the limit: Mirabel can fly. That's all. Her power is flight.

Mind over matters: Mirabel can move things with her mind, making her somewhat unpredictable

Talk to Death: Mirabel, who doesn't have magic, can talk to the spirit of Pedro (and him alone) after getting cut by Casita's tiles, leading to an infection that isn't healing. So, Mirabel has to find a cure to the magic while seeing the ghost of her grandfather and dealing with her family thinking she's lost her mind.
