Theme: Haunt
Bruno is haunted by nightmares of the townspeople, people who are dissatisfied with the visions they have received and blame him for them
Tumblr media
Black
That´s how they all started
In pure black
And suddenly, with a flash of light that left me blind, I found myself in the square. I walked through it, and when I reached the end I returned to the beginning.
I walked on, without a break, watching as the people who had previously been nothing more than a backdrop began to draw closer and closer, each time I reached the end, each time I returned to the beginning
I didn't want to keep walking, but I did it as if I needed to do it as much as breathing.
They started whispering
I knew what they were saying
Is it him?
Why has he come back?
He was the one who gave me that damn vision
He is cursed
Go away!
Yes! Get out! Get out of here!
And their already incriminating looks turned aggressive just as their whispers turned into screams. Surrounding me, all of them, pushing me, hitting me, while I begged for forgiveness even though I knew I wasn’t to blame. Forgiveness, with my eyes filled with tears, forgiveness, with my mouth bloody.
And seeming like a miracle, I managed to get out from among them, using the little strength I had left to start running.
Even so, I felt like they were chasing me, hunting me down, and I just closed my eyes and begged for it all to end.
Suddenly, it was black again, silence, and in a second, I was in my room.
Again that feeling that I had to move, that it wasn't over, and that I had to hide from the looks, murmurs, and screams that haunted me, that always followed me.
I climbed the stairs; my body, although exhausted and with traces of blood, moved with the same need one has when drinking water after being thirsty for a long time.
After a few seconds, I made it to the top, but my legs gave out, and I fell to the ground. However, with the little strength I had left, I dragged myself toward my vision dome. Once in the center of it, I let my head bury into the ground in search of peace.
But the murmuring and whispering started again.
When I lifted my head once more, I was no longer alone; I was in the same place, but surrounded by people. I couldn't see their faces; they were blurry, I could only see their eyes accusing me in unintelligible whispers
I blinked.
Quickly began to recognize some of the faces which were murmuring and looking at me accusingly.
Pepa, Julieta, Félix, Agustín
I tried to get closer to them, but my legs wouldn't move
Luisa, Isabela, Camilo Dolores
I tried to talk to them, but sand started coming out of my mouth
Mom, Antonio
I managed to raise a hand towards them, but it was shaking
Mirabel
She looked at me, disappointed and angry.
I started to vomit more sand, it was coming out of my eyes too
The whispers became louder, but now they were spoken by the voices of my family.
Pathetic
Why did he come back?
He's fading away
He's disappearing
I saw my body, they were right, I was crumbling, I was turning into sand
Even though it was their voices, even though it was them looking at me with disappointment, anger, and disdain. Still, I tried to ask them for help, anyone, anyone at all; I didn’t want to disappear
But I couldn't, only more sand came out of my mouth.
I managed to get to Mirabel's skirt, I clung to her with what was left of my hands, but when I lift my head...
Uncle Bruno, disappear
I felt as if my heart was being ripped out
As if I was being hit on the head
I was alone again, in my vision dome
Alone, fading away, turning into sand
And maybe they were right
Maybe I should just...
DISAPPEAR
I woke up covered in cold sweat in my room
Dolores and Mirabel by my side
Tio, are you okay? Dolores heard you complaining in your sleep and called us all, the others are outside. Are you alright? - She had sat on the edge of my bed and although I saw her worried and understood what she was saying, I couldn't speak, I was still sweating cold, I was shaking.
It was a nightmare
It was just a nightmare
She kept talking to me; I saw her blurry
I was crying
I was tired
Would they ever stop hunting me?
Would it be possible for me to have sweet dreams?

YOUR COLOURS
Tumblr media
━─┉┈◈❖◈┈┉─━
Request:
I need any kind of soulmate AU , Bruno Madrigal X Reader
━─┉┈◈❖◈┈┉─━
When you were little, your mother told you millions of times about the day she met your father, and you, loving that story, asked her to tell it to you millions of times more.
She recounted that one day, during a walk with some friends, the wind blew away the shawl around her neck and a young beautiful boy picked it up for her, as soon as his hand touched the small piece of cloth, the silk became light blue.
Until a person finds their soulmate, their eyes can only be seen in black and white, but if one of the two predestined touches the same thing in a short amount of time, the object and the world around will slowly become colourful and their love would be strong as a mountain.
The years passed and you got tired of seeing the world only in black, white, grey and all the combinations in between.
One day, you were helping a new married couple, the Mejors, to move from their parent's house to the one their friend Luisa Madrigal had built for them.
Balancing two large boxes in your arms, you crossed the street with your field of view so limited that all you could see was cardboard and because of this one of your feet caught an uneven stone.
You were prepared for hitting the floor, but someone in front of you managed to avoid your fall and with your eyes still closed in fright, you thanked the stranger and entered the couple's house.
"Where do I put these?" You asked.
"In the bedroom, please" Mrs Mejor answered.
You placed the boxes on the floor and as you were about to leave, something caught your eyes.
The bottom box, the one you actually held in your hands was slowly changing colour, from a place grey to a light brown, the tone spreading from a handprint on one side.
"Oh Dios mio" you shrieked.
"Did something broke?" Señor Mejor told you.
"No! The box... The box is changing colour, I can see its colour!" You shouted.
"One of you saw the man that helped me before?" Saying so you walked outside but there was no one to be seen.
"Y/N, that means he is your soulmate. Do not worry, Encanto is not so big" the lady tried to cheer you up.
"I know..." You murmured.
You returned home distraught and with your head in the clouds, you had waited so long for that moment and due to an unfortunate case you were not able to see him.
Not having even eaten a single bite of your food and seeing you down in spirits, your family asked you what had happened, so you told them everything, they were happy for you but sorry that you had missed that very special moment and like Mrs Major, they were confident that you would find him again.
Laying in your bed you trashed around for a while but since sleep wouldn't come you schemed and planned how to find the mysterious man.
You thought of going to the main square and touching as many surfaces as possible hoping that passing by, your soul mate could touch them in turn in a short amount of time.
You soon discarded the idea.
So you imagined of purposely losing a shoe with your name written on it and-
"Ew, that's lame! Who goes around losing shoes without realizing it?" You grunted.
Several days later you informed your father that for the whole day, you would have to help with the decorations of the village in preparation for the Spring equinox.
"Buenos Dias, Y/N" the old lady that lived in front of your house greeted you.
"Buenos Dias señora! ¿Qué se dice de bella hoy?" You asked.
"You did not hear? Bruno Madrigal returned home!" She whispered.
"The one with precognition powers? Mama told me about him once but I was just a kid back then"
"I saw him going that way, be careful, he cause misfortune!" And she pointed the direction with one of her bony fingers.
You lined the streets with decorations and flowers of which colours you could not even imagine, helped by the only member of the Madrigals that could actually create flowers out of nowhere.
The ebb and flow of time seemed to slow to a halt, even the slow setting of the sun took you by surprise and climbing down from the ladder you were on, you saw a stranger talking with Isabela.
He was strangely fascinating and you found yourself staring at him for a few moments until you managed to disenchant yourself.
The man had long curly black hair with grey streaks and looked like he hasn't had a day of sleep in months since his prominent eyebags were impossible to ignore.
He wears a ruana two sizes bigger that has seen better days over a shirt, pants, and a pair of sandals.
"Hello! I'm Y/N, nice to meet you" you said greeting him cheerfully.
You extended your hand but looking at it he took a step backwards, staring at you in disbelief.
"You don't know me?" He demanded.
"No, that's why I'm presenting myself" You responded perplexed.
"I'm Bruno Madrigal, you certainly have heard about me and what I am" told the man fidgeting with his oversized ruana.
"I have, nevertheless, I'm glad to finally meet you" you smiled gently.
He was about to reach for your hand when a cascade of flowers dropped on your head, Bruno tried to catch them but they just brushed his fingers.
"I'm so sorry," Isabella said sincerely "one of the big flower decorations just broke right above you!"
"I'm fine! No need to worry " you laughed but Bruno was walking away.
The flowers on the floor became blue and bright pink, the ground became dark brown and all the rest of the world took finally colour, but as beautiful as it was you didn't care about that.
"Bruno wait!" You called after him.
"No, please. I don't know what you're seeing but there's a mistake." He blurted walking faster.
"We're seeing the same thing! Slow down!" You ran in front of him and blocked his way extending your arms wide open.
"I'm probably older than your parents, don't do this to yourself..." He tried to convince you.
"I've waited all my life for you! Now that I find you...you don't want me, do you?" Your eyes were filling with tears and your heart was hammering in your chest.
He softened a bit "You're my soulmate...I think I'm in love with you, even before you introduced yourself, actually...I've been seeing colours for days, since the time I helped you to not fall."
"You what?" It was your turn to be frightened.
"You touched my clothes, maybe you didn't realize it. Suddenly I was seeing the world as it is and...I ran away." He admitted.
"Why? Tell me why you didn't tell me about it" You implored, grabbing him weakly from his clothes.
"You are so beautiful and young...I didn't make it. I believed there was a mistake. I never had happiness so I thought I wasn't worth it. Or worth of you" he explained, looking down at his sandals.
"Worth of me? We're destined to be together from the day we were born, Bruno. Somewhere in the universe is written that you're made for me as I'm made for you" you said placing your hand on his cheeks, rubbing the skin lovingly with your thumbs "You're perfect and if you'll look into our future, you'll see me always by your side"
Bruno was positively crying at that point, hiding his face in your neck as you held him tight, he was mumbling apologies between sobs and you shushed him gently until he recovered.
"Colours are beautiful, aren't they?" He questioned letting you go and still sniffing a bit.
"Yeah, but nothing compared to you." You responded, stealing a quick peck.
Bruno reddened like a child caught with his hands in a cookie jar, so you stole another kiss but that time he reciprocated.
"I believe my family would love you" he expressed taking one of your hands in his.
You brushed a curly strand from his face, marvelled at how gorgeous were his features and the colour of his eyes.
"You know what? I want to meet them!" You informed him.
"I have to tell you, sometimes they are a bit too much" he wanted you, walking on the way home.
"They seem wonderful, just like you," you said with a laugh.
As the sun disappeared behind the high mountains of Encanto, you walked hand in hand with your soulmate and just at that moment you realized that it's not finding the right person that makes you see the colour of the world all of the sudden but love and being loved surely does.

To blame
Isabela knew that Abuelo blamed Luisa for every little thing that went wrong. But it... It wasn't just blaming
For @miracles-and-butterflies AU where Pedro's family got the worst gift combination in his opinion
It was a little bit after midnight. Isabela was never the type to go to bed early. But usually, she stayed inside. After most of the family left, he got a strict schedule and forbade them from going out in the night.
It wasn't like he cared about them, but in the last years, Abuelo's behavior was definitely getting more snappish and strict. Isabela was honestly never on good terms with Pedro, but it was probably better than Luisa. Even if she had to admit that they were getting better over time. Luisa wasn't so loud or demanding now.
Things weren't good. Most of the family wasn't with them anymore. Tío Bruno had left. The entire warm branch had left. Mirabel.... she left too, just in a way darker sense.
Isabela was startled by a quiet, holden back sobbing, that was followed by hissing from the nursery. "Luisa" she got it immediately, not only by the voice but also with the fact that no one else could be in here at such a late time. What was Luisa doing anyway? She didn't sound okay.
Isabela didn't like to admit how concerned she was. Maybe it was because of Mirabel, but she couldn't stand the idea of leaving Luisa unattended. Besides, her sister was always a huge fan of hiding her feelings, not like Isabela could blame her. So this was something strange at least.
"Hey, muscle, what's the problem?" She laughed, peeking through the doorway. Luisa's breathing froze and she almost jumped on her bed in panic.
Isabela's smile faded way faster than it appeared, as she looked at Luisa in the candlelight that was burning on a nightstand next to Luisa. The bleeding bruises on her shoulders shined in the weak light. Tensing her eyes, Isabela was getting a better and better view of what was going on. Luisa's arms were covered in bruises. Some still fresh and bleeding, pink, red, and Luisa's favorite bright purplish color; others were fading yellow, disappearing in another patch. Luisa's arms had more bruises than healthy skin. Somewhere Isabela could spot burning scars, parts of sickingly white skin.
Isabela was never squeamish. She could say she dealt with injuries pretty well. It didn't make her less sick from the sight. Luisa's arms looked more like a painted canvas, decorated in so many colors.
"The fuck happened to you?" She muttered, horrified, stepping into the nursery. Casita's floorboards cracked under her feet. Luisa's eye twitching only made her more tense. "Luisa? What the hell?"
She was horrified in too many senses of this word. Luisa wrapped herself in a blanket, shamingly covering her injured arms. Isabela could hear sweat running down Luisa's face. "It..." Luisa's breathing hitched, her heart was running a marathon at this moment. "Abuelo." She breathed out, looking down.
Abuelo? What did she... Oh, crap no... he didn't... Was he the one to do this?
No, Isabela always knew that their grandfather didn't like Luisa. Coming with a lack of a gift. But this? This wasn't just yelling or pushing the blame for no reason. It was much, much worse than Isabela could ever think of.
Another sob escaped Luisa, as she was trembling. Isabela wasn't good at comforting. What would she have to do now? She awkwardly patted Luisa's spine. "Here... Here..."
Through her barely restrained cries, Luisa muttered an explanation. "It started because others were leaving the family."
Of course, Isabela knew that Abuelo blamed Luisa for the fact that everyone was going away from this hell of a family. He yelled at Luisa for hours when it happened for the first time. Abuelo was blaming Luisa for everything. Even before this all. And she knew that he was blaming Luisa for this too.
Her stomach twitched into a painful knot. She had a goddamn superhearing. Why didn't she know sooner? And even without her gift... Luisa was acting so off all this time. Now, more and more realizations were creeping into Isabela. From being extremely loud, Luisa went to a much more quiet self. She never argued with Abuelo now. It was so obvious that something was going on with her. Yet, Isabela never even think about it.
She wants to throw up. Not from the sight of injuries, but from realization. Isabela had never liked her grandfather, but now.... She would never call this monster "Abuelo" ever again. This bastard... He was the reason why almost everyone left. And he had the guts to blame Luisa and harm her?
Isabela's fists clenched, she growled slightly. Her veins popped out of her neck from tensed rage. "What the fuck is wrong with him?"
Luisa's eyes shifted to the candle flame. "I don't know." She rubbed her upper arm, trying to calm down the itching from her injuries.
Isabela had too many questions. Why didn't Luisa tell anyone? Why would Pedro blame her? She was so mad. Filled with hatred over this.
Luisa still looked tensed, almost on the brink of tears. "It hurts..." She breathed out, leaning against the headboard. And Isabela had no idea of how to react to this. Pedro was a dick.
"I'm going to kill him." Isabela looked at the floor, trying to do her best to hold herself down.
She had lost one sister already. And she certainly wasn't going to lose another one.

Theme: Relaxatation
After the reconstruction of Casita, it was decided that everyone should take a full day of rest. However, all the family members found it difficult… everyone except Camilo. So, Mirabel wants him to give them lessons on how to relax.
Tumblr media
No, Mirabel! - Camilo said as he quickly walked toward his room. However, just like for the past hour, Mirabel was still chasing after him.
Please, Camilo! They need it! -she said, standing in front of his bedroom door, blocking him from entering. - You're the most qualified to teach them. Please!
Since the reconstruction of Casita and at Mirabel's suggestion, everyone was supposed to take at least one day off each week, but no one seemed capable of completely relaxing, always looking for even the smallest task to keep themselves occupied. However, Camilo seemed to be the exception, and that’s why…
NO! - Camilo repeated. - Get out of the way!
Not if you don’t accept! -Mirabel insisted.
Mirabel had thought that Camilo could teach the rest of the family how to relax, but it was turning out to be more difficult than she had planned. In fact, they were struggling with each other.
Get out of the way! -Camilo said, his hands on Mirabel's shoulders, trying to push her aside. Instead, Mirabel grabbed his arms.
Just accept! -Mirabel insisted. - I’m not asking you for something complicated!
No! - With a shove, Camilo managed to push her away from the door, and without wasting any time, he entered his room and slammed the door.
Camilo! - Mirabel shouted back, trying to open the door, but it was blocked and she couldn’t get in.
Leaning against the door, Mirabel slid down to the floor. Hoping that whatever was blocking the door was Camilo himself, she began to speak. -I’m only asking for one day, no—just a few hours. I don’t need more. Teach them to relax like you do. You always seem so confident and calm. It’ll be quick, I’ll take care of everything, and all you have to do is be there and tell them what you usually do to stay so chill, and that’s it.
Mirabel stared at the door, waiting for a response. -Camilo?
Stop nagging me, Mirabel. I already told you no. I’m not cut out for that... - Camilo's whispering voice came from behind the door. -Find someone else.
Who? You’re the best at this, everyone knows it. Look, Camilo—Mirabel tried to convince him, but she was cut off by a loud shout.
I’m never relaxed! - Camilo's voice echoed from the other side of the door, causing Mirabel, still sitting on the floor, to turn and look at it. -I’m never relaxed… but someone has to be. Mom’s always worried about making it rain or causing a hurricane. Dad never rests, trying to keep her from stressing out and making sure, by Abuela’s order, that she doesn’t cause chaos. Dolores is constantly on edge, overwhelmed with all the noise. She has breakdowns in her room all the time.
And your mom? Your sisters? Even Uncle Bruno, he’s nervous with every step he takes… Even you… Before Casita collapsed, you were so stressed all the time. - Camilo's voice gradually grew softer. - So, someone had to act like everything was fine. It was the only thing I could think of...
Mirabel sat there, staring at the door in silence, her eyes wide in shock. Camilo had been pretending this whole time, and he had managed to fool them all.
I'm coming in, - Mirabel said, standing up and turning the doorknob.
The door slowly creaked open, allowing Mirabel to step inside the room. She looked around, taking in the details, while Camilo stood against one of the walls near the door, silently watching her.
Mirabel approached a dresser nearby, where several cups and a teapot sat on top. - Coffee? - she asked, her eyes still on the teapot, though the question was meant for Camilo.
Tea, - Camilo said from where he sat on the floor. - I tried every type we have in Casita. I thought if it helps Mom, maybe it’d help me too… but it doesn’t.
Mirabel continued moving around the room, noticing plates of half-eaten food, glasses of water, and a few books focused on relaxation scattered throughout.
Food helps me a bit more, plus it gives me energy to use my gift... It's better than nothing, - Camilo said, his face calm but clearly exhausted. This time, his gaze met Mirabel's, and she rushed over to hug him tightly.
Why? - Mirabel asked, holding him close. - Why didn’t you ever say anything?
And add another worry to your list? You all have enough already, - Camilo replied with a faint smile, which Mirabel quickly shook her head at.
She wasn’t going to let him keep pretending that everything was fine.
With a sigh, Camilo looked away, his expression returning to the same calm but tired look from before. - What else could I do? Abuela only wants smiles.
That's not how it is anymore, - Mirabel replied. - Abuela is changing, Camilo.
Camilo glanced back at her and shrugged, unsure if what she was saying could be true. Could a person really change overnight? - I’m a man... - he added quietly.
That doesn’t make you any less human, - Mirabel responded, not understanding why being a man should make a difference.
Camilo looked at her with a faint smile before ruffling her hair and pulling away from her embrace. He stood up, brushing off his clothes. - I hope you finally understand why I’m not going to participate in that class.
Mirabel nodded, standing up once again. As she left the room, it became clear to her that what everyone really needed was to talk.
With the sound of the door closing behind her, she made up her mind—she had to arrange a family meeting with everyone.
She cast one last glance at Camilo's door, hearing nothing from the other side. If this had been a masquerade, Camilo would have been the last one to be uncovered.
Maybe, in order to learn how to truly relax, the first thing they needed was to let go of their masks.

Bruno Madrigal is a ghost.
It’s not all bad, he doesn’t have to use his gift anymore, doesn’t have to answer to anybody, doesn’t have to eat or sleep really.
Plus, he can still talk to his family in their dreams.

BIRTHMARK
Tumblr media
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:✧*⋆.*:・゚✧.: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
Request:
The female reader is from another village with her own magic family. She has her powers (ice, blizzard, or weather ish powers would be fun to clash with Pepa), and the families meet at Casita to discuss the miracle.
Pairing: Bruno x FEM!reader.
Type: fluff, soulmate marks AU
⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:✧*⋆.*:・゚✧.: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
You were tired from your journey, the muscles of your legs were sore for the long time you spend on your horse, It was two days before that you left your village with a purpose in your mind and heart: find your soulmate.
In your native land, doesn't matter how much you searched, no one had the same birthmark.
It was shaped like a small bowtie or an infinite symbol, bright red and marking your right wrist.
At first, you thought that your soulmate was in one of the near villages but as soon as your research goes the result didn't change.
You imagined the worst scenarios, and your family and friends told you their ideas.
"Maybe your soulmates is unfortunately dead"
"Maybe he's born in another time, maybe a century ago or maybe he isn't born yet!"
"You just have to find him!"
So your research took you away from home, too far away to go back and simply let go, sure you could have found another person but it wouldn't be the same kind of love, because the one between two soulmates is an indissoluble bond.
You almost fell asleep while riding your horse's back and maybe you did, because all of the sudden you were right in front of an enormous mountain and you slowly arrived at the top.
The view that opened in front of your eyes was breathtaking.
A small colourful village was surrounded by high mountains like the one you had just passed through, the flourishing vegetation was vibrant and you could see a very big house on the top of a small hill.
Deciding that you had enough of riding around you headed for the crowded village, people were staring curiously at you and you kindly greeted them asking if there was an Inn where you could eat and rest.
A kind woman gave you the directions and you rasped "thanks, señora" you were thirsty to no end and the first thing you wanted was a cold glass of water.
You tied your horse in a nearby paddock so she could eat, drink and rest, you patted her brown coat and caressed her soft black mane.
Once entered the Inn, a scent of coffee filled your nose, you kindly asked for your order and the bartender, a young boy not probably old enough to work there, handed you a glass full of still water.
But it was not cold.
"I guess I have to do it by myself" you mumbled grasping the glass and concentrating.
In an instant, the water became ice-cold, condensation dripped from the glass and the boy looked at you with amazed eyes.
"Wow! How can you do that? You're like Pepa!" He told you.
"It's a gift fro-" then realization hit you, he said that someone could do the same thing "Who's Pepa?" You asked.
"Pepa Madrigal! Everyone knows her here, but you're not from Encanto. She's my friend's mamá, she can change the weather." the boy explained.
"Where can I find her?" You question, drinking your water.
"The big villa at the end of the road, it's the Madrigals house" he said making a nod towards the direction.
"Thank you. Do you have a room for rent or do you know where I can find one? I'm tired to death" you smiled weakly.
"There's a room upstairs but I have to call the owner for that" he disappeared into another room and came back with a short chubby man who was revealed to be the kind owner of the Inn, you talked to him a bit, paid for the room and get upstairs.
The room was quite nice and smelled of lavender, the walls were in yellow stucco, wooden furniture, a big window and a small bathroom, the bed was comfy but creaky but you couldn't care less because as your head touched the pillow you fell asleep.
The next day you took a bath, dressed in clean clothes and after a good breakfast, you decided to go to check your horse.
Returning to the paddock you were not prepared for the scene in front of you.
A tall muscular girl was carrying two mules on her shoulders without the minimum effort like they weighed a couple of grapes, she noticed you, and most of all she noticed you staring and became uneasy.
"Hum, good morning...do you need something?" She asked, placing one mule on the ground.
"Good morning, I was about to check on my horse, sorry for interrupting" you said politely.
She extended her free hand "I'm Luisa Madrigal".
"Oh, another Madrigal" you thought, but responded instead "Y/N, really nice to meet you" and you shook her hand.
You expected that your hand would be almost crushed but her hand just gave you a light squeeze, she was gentle and feminine despite her impending physical shape and it suited her very well.
Luisa, for her part, made a strange expression when her eyes briefly rested on your wrist, where your birthmark was, the muscles of her right eye trembled.
You made sure that your horse was fine before asking "I'm coming from another village, as you could have imagined. I'm searching for my soulmate, do you know someone with this birthmark?" You showed your wrist.
Her eye trembled again, you guessed it was a nervous tick.
"No, I'm sorry" she answered quickly, too much.
Suddenly you felt someone grabbing your arm, you gasped in surprise.
Inspecting your birthmark, was a young boy with brown curly hair and green eyes, he was wearing a yellow ruana, his nose scrunched in concentration.
"I kind of remember this one but I can't pinpoint on who I saw it on..." he mumbled.
"Camilo! I don't think she needs your help." Luisa said through gritted teeth.
"What? I can take people's appearance, if you let me check I could help her!" He answered like for him not helping someone in difficulty was an affront.
You saw him shapeshift from one person to another in rapid succession, checking his wrist that wasn't looking his most of the time.
Feeling a bit confused you stopped him.
"You're a Madrigal too?" He nodded, turning into himself "I wish to talk to your whole family. It seems your village and mine have something in common".
That evening you made the acquaintance of the whole Madrigal family, especially of Alma, who explained to you how in a moment of despair she received the miracle and how the candle gave each member of the familia a special gift, everyone except Mirabel, who in your opinion, was the sweetest and cheerful of the family.
At dinner you chatted with everyone, even if you had the vague sensation that something was off, visiting the house you counted 9 magical doors but only 8 gift-bearing members were sitting at the table.
" What about you? You mentioned that magic exists in your village" Mirabel questioned.
"When my mother was five years old, our village suffered from a huge famine, it hadn't rained for months and not a single thread of grass could grow in the fields. Just when they thought they had lost all hope, the rain came, but it was not regular rain. With every drop the earth was awakened, the fields became luxuriant, the plants blossomed and filled with fruit and even the people who found themselves under the downpour were healed." you narrated.
"It was a miracle!" Exclaimed Antonio, while with the corner of your eye you saw Alma whispering something to her daughter Julieta.
"Yes it was, and you know what's extraordinary? The rain filled the old big fountain in the backyard of my grandma's house, the water inside cannot be exhausted, no matter how much you get it, the fountain is always overflowing. Each newborn is bathed in the water of the fountain because it will give them a life free of any disease. Sometimes, the water also grants powers, as happened to me and my family." Saying so, with a swirl of your fingers, you created an ice statue of a tucan on the centre of the dining table.
Pepa was amazed and with pride, she showed the raging storm that was forming on her head, clouds swirled and darkened as little lighting threatened to zap his husband.
"By the way, I'm not here to show off my abilities, I'm here to find my soulmate. Do you know someone with this birthmark in the same place?" You implored showing the symbol to the family.
Agustìn coughed, Luisa's eye trembled, Felix looked elsewhere, Isabela grew a cactus in the centre of her plate, Julieta reddened, Dolores was fakingly concentrated on her food while the clouds on Pepa's head transformed into a snowstorm.
Alma was looking like all the blood was drained from her body and sighed.
"Come with me" she told you, raising sharply from her chair.
She accompanied you in front of a door, like the others it was inlaid with the figure of a member of the family but it was not glowing, on the top was the name of her only son.
"Bruno" you read.
"To my son, the candle gave a humbling gift, he can see the future and this brought only pain and suffering to this family. He left 10 years ago and no one saw him ever since." Alma pointed at the figure on the door "check more closely" she instructed you.
You approached the door, looking better at the details until you find it.
On Bruno's wrist was inlaid a birthmark, shaped exactly like yours, your heart started to hammer in your chest and you felt that the air was suddenly not enough.
"It's shaped like an hourglass." the woman told you.
You never realized it, mistaking the shape for something else but when she pointed out it was pretty obvious.
A heavy silence fell in the house.
"I can't help you, my dear" Alma was sorrowful " I would like to have my son back too," she said before excusing herself and returning to her family.
You followed her, thanked everyone for their gentle hospitality and left the house to return to the Inn for the night.
You passed more days in Encanto, asking about Bruno, but no one was willing to talk about him.
Somebody told you he was a walking nightmare, someone said he was mean and others were simply scared.
You were eating an arepa, wandering through the streets of the village, kicking some stones that were in your path as you proceeded, one of the said stones rolled down and under a shrub from which you heard a squeaking sound.
A small rat was between the green leaves of the bush.
"Sorry, little friend. How about an apology gift?" You asked rhetorically at the animal, placing a piece of your arepa on the ground.
The rodent quickly took the offered food and sprinted away, but soon it stopped and looked back at you hesitantly.
You made some steps toward the rat and it repeated the previous behaviour.
"Okay, I'm following a rat now" you mumbled.
You follow it, turning several streets and ending up immersed in some vegetation, once you emerged you realized that you were in the garden of the Madrigals' house and the mouse slipped into a narrow hole in a wall just wide enough for a person of small stature to pass.
You squeezed through the tight space, crawling in the dark until you found yourself between the house walls.
You saw patched cracks and buckets of paint and sparkle, the floors creaked under your feet and you heard a voice.
"Mirabel? Is that you?" Asked a man with a kind and hushed voice "10 years without no one knowing I'm here and now..." You heard him murmuring.
Finding a wooden door, you knocked twice, feeling a bit out of place because you were in someone else's house, precisely in the walls, knocking on a door.
"Mira, I think that my vision about-" he opened the door staring with wide eyes at you.
Standing in the doorway was Bruno, an inch taller than you and weighted like a wet fledgling, his overgrown black curly hair was framing his face, tired hazel eyes were fixed on yours, mouth opened in surprise.
He was so much better than you've ever dreamed.
"Bruno, I-" you started but he swiftly moved to close the door but you tried to stop him.
"Please let me explain!" You shouted.
"Who are you?" He asked frightened.
"My name is Y/N, I know this is crazy but I'm your soulmate, please open the door," you explained, resting your forehead on the door.
He opened it just a crack to peek "Show me your birthmark" he demanded.
You tried to uncover your wrist, your heart was about to explode, fingers trembling as you unbutton the right cuff of your shirt.
Eventually, you succeeded and Bruno finally opened the door to let you in.
The room was filled with tons of objects, some of them were reused for other purposes, a bunch of rats were sleeping in old slippers and some of them were intrigued by your presence, watching you from shelves and wooden beams.
"Hum, sorry. My-my social skills are...well, a bit rusty I suppose. I apologize for the door slamming and the suspicious manners. Only my niece and my youngest Sobrino know that I live here..." He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"I'm a stranger, you were just wary for the right reason." he made you sit in his armchair while you spoke to him "I came here to find my soulmate...and I found you"
"Pretty delusional, I think!" he said sincerely, knocking three times on wood items and one on his head.
You smiled at the superstitious gesture "Not at all" he froze on the spot and slowly looked back at you, maybe he thought you were joking.
You chatted a lot, Bruno liked talking and he narrated to you his whole story, from the day he got his so much hated gift to the day he isolated himself for the love of his family.
You fell in love more with every passing minute, the way he moved, talked and joked was enchanting to you as was the way he cared for the others Madrigals, he has nothing to do with the man the persons of Encanto described.
You told him about your journey, all the villages you visited and how you found Encanto by coincidence.
He listened to every single word that came out of your mouth, sitting on a table and casually petting and feeding some rats in the meantime.
Bruno was more relaxed by the time you finished talking and was absently rubbing his birthmark with a finger while looking at yours, you reached for his wrist and his breath itched.
"Can I touch you?" You asked and he nodded "Shaped like an hourglass, how fitting" you commented, moving your hand slowly from his wrist to his forearm, caressing warm skin.
He shuddered but didn't pull away "Soulmates have a sort of magic bond or so I heard, something that pulled them together, no matter how far they are, they always find each other" Bruno whispered.
"Indeed. I found you and I'm not planning on letting you go" you chuckled.
He was staring at you like a lost puppy that finally found his family again, hurt and desperate but also relieved and happy.
You placed your hands on his cheeks and lean closer until only an inch was separating your lips from his.
"You shouldn't" he murmured, eyes closed, bumping gently his forehead against yours "But I want it" you answered back.
You closed the gap, pressing your lips softly on Bruno's, a strangled whimper came from his throat as he clung to you as if his life depended on it.
He spun you around, making you sit on the table where he previously was and deepened the kiss.
"Sorry, too much?" He said suddenly separating from you, his cheeks red from embarrassment.
"Oh, that was fine by me" you chucked, leaning to rest your head on his shoulder.
A loud terrifying and crackling noise tore through the air.
"Pepa's storm?" You wondered confused.
Bruno grabbed your hand scared like never before in his life.
"Run! Run outside Y/N! I'll be right behind you in a second! RUN!" he cried out pushing you out of the room.
The house was falling, cracks were forming everywhere as you moved as fast as you could.
Once you were outside you watched the walls crumble down, Bruno escaped a few seconds later, wearing a bucket as a helmet.
You immediately checked his body for injuries, throwing away the bucket and inspecting his head.
"You're all right?" You demanded scared to the bones.
"Just a couple of scratches, I'm fine but...my vision came true" he sighed "what are we going to do?"
"MIRABEL?" The two of you heard calling.
"MIRABEL?WHERE ARE YOU?" Called Julieta.
Once you understood that Mirabel was not under the debris of the house, the family and you started searching for her.
You took your horse and Bruno came with you, even if the animal scared him a bit, he didn't know how to ride but he managed anyway, sitting on her back behind you, hugging you tightly.
"I'm sorry you had to witness all of this," he said apologetically "I know I told you about my vision and you already knew my powers but-" you let go of the reins of your horse to hold his hands which at that moment were resting on your hips.
"Everything will be fine" you reassured him "look, isn't that Mirabel with Alma?" You pointed the two women by the river.
You dismounted but Bruno remained on the horse "Go to your family" and saying so you patted your horse rear and she started running.
The scene was a bit comical.
After Bruno, Alma and Mirabel returned and the family reunited, you and the generous people of Encanto helped the Madrigals in rebuilding their house.
You and your soulmate grew even close, stealing kisses in moments of pause and sleeping embraced at night, only to be affectionately mocked by Camilo the following day.
His family also became yours, Bruno's room was adapted to accommodate you and even on the entrance door, your figure was engraved.
You sent a letter to your family to inform them of how your life had changed and to invite them to meet the Madrigals and especially Bruno.
They were taken aback at first because they were not expecting another family with powers and they were not expecting a man much older than you to be your soulmate, but they saw the way you loved each other and changed immediately their ideas.
During the lunch with your reunited families, Bruno shyly stood up and cleared his throat.
"Hum I would like to make an announcement, that is, it is not an announcement but I think it will be ... soon. What I meant is ... " he turned to you, took your hands and made you stand up while he instead lowered with one knee to the ground"Y/N, my soulmate, you b-brought light into my life and this house, you saw in me what no one else could and I-I love you more every day. Will you marry me?"
Your whole life flashed in your mind, from the day when growing up you wondered who had your same birthmark when you understood that your love was not in your village and nowhere you searched him, to the day you found him and there he was down on one knee asking you to marry him and have a life together.
"Yes, of course, Bruno!" You cried with joy.
The whole family cheered and clapped their hands and you and Bruno kissed and hugged.
That was better than you could ever imagine.

Ok, in the previous poll there was an incredible 45% tie, which means that both Chimi and Picchu were highly requested, and left Rico in last place…
So I wanted to do one first and who I really wanted to draw:
Tumblr media
Chimi! I had two hairstyles for her, but the other one was very punk, so I had to go with both pigtails.
