Soy Luna - S01
I decided not to separate the first season of Soy Luna into two parts, since most mentionable things happen in the second part of the first season.
I think the first season was great. The story is really interesting; something is always going on; it's never boring. Everybody's storyline is intriguing for their own reasons, and I wouldn't say any of them is particularly boring. I like that while the roller is the main place where most things are happening, we all see them living their lives outside that. We see them go to school and work; it feels really realistic. Yeah, they spend the majority of their time in the Roller, but that's normal because the whole series revolves around skating. I think the second part, from episode 41 to 80, was more interesting and filled with drama.
Let's talk about the characters now:
Luna: She is such a lovely girl, and I really love how passionate she is about things. I really like that she is always trying to remain a good, bigger person. I really like that no matter how many times she falls, she always stands up, and she keeps going, which is an amazing trait to popularize. I love how positive she is and that she never gives up. I love the way she encourages people and that she always sees the best in people.
However, her clumsiness is a bit annoying after a while. I liked that she is not this perfectly organized person, but sometimes it's a bit too much how she forgets almost everything. It was cute for a bit, but it was quite annoying that some of the bad things that happened to her were possible because she left her stuff at the worst places. Obviously, people trying to harm her or ruin her dreams was never her fault, but again, at the same time, it was a bit annoying.
I really liked their friendship with Simon. They are really great friends, and they are always there for each other. I understood her when she couldn't decide what she felt about him, especially after being friends for so many years, and I also understood that she was a bit confused, but I don't think she should've gotten together with Simon. I don't think she's ever had feelings for him; I think she was afraid that she would lose him, so she wanted to give it a try. But I think we all knew all along that she never really had any romantic feelings for him.
I think it was clear that she liked Matteo and he liked her as well, but I like that she isn't trying to get closer to him because he is taken. There are a few questionable moments, though, when they clearly both overstepped, but I think she tried her best to not get too involved when he was still with Ambar. I think they are a cute couple, and I was really happy they kind of got together in the very end; however, it was a bit too much waiting and build-up. The kiss that happened in the middle of the season was kind of weird as well; I mean, Matteo kissed him without her consent, but at the same time, she liked him as well, so it's a bit of a conflicting situation.
It was also so annoying how she always believed Ambar. People told her multiple times (especially Nina) that she was behind most of the bad things that happened to her, but she always thought that it couldn't be her when it was so obvious. I understand why she believed her in the very beginning, but after so many questionable things, I don't understand why she still believes her.
I think they are really great friends with Nina, and they were always so good for each other. I'm glad they focused so much on that relationship because it was so good to see them become besties.
All in all, I like her character, and I do think she is a really good person. I think she is one of the least toxic main characters.
Simon: I think he is a nice guy; he is a really great friend for Luna. I think it's quite easy to tell from the very beginning that he is in love with Luna. I love how great a friend he is, not just when it comes to Luna, but also when it comes to his other friends. He is such a loyal one, and it was so incredibly sweet how he moved to Argentina just to be with Luna.
I think it's easier to say bad things about his personality in the other half of the first season. I think he is really great in the first half of it. It was really brave of him to tell Luna he is in love with her, and I'm glad he did it, especially since he wasn't capable of being only her friend anymore. However, I have to say he didn't really handle that situation well. I think it was more than normal that Luna was confused since she had never thought about him like that before. It seemed like he wanted an immediate answer, but it must have been such a huge surprise for her. I mean, yeah, people (mostly Nina and Matteo) implied that he has feelings for her, but she never really believed them, for obvious reasons. She was also in the middle of the whole skating race thing. I think the timing wasn't the best. And I have to mention that his behavior afterwards was really questionable as well. So he wanted to leave Argentina and go back to Mexico after realizing that Luna didn't reciprocate her feelings, and it kind of had a bit of an emotional manipulation feeling to it. Yeah, obviously I get that he felt like he couldn't stay close to Luna after everything, but I don't know... It kind of felt as if he wanted to make her feel bad, or as if the only way she could've made him stay was if she got into something she didn't want. The way he treated Luna while he was in a relationship with Daniela was also really painful to watch. Like, to this day I can't understand why he didn't trust her. Like, why would she have lied about everything? She said it several times that she wants him to be happy, but the only thing he heard was that she is jealous because he isn't spending as much time with her as he used to. There were so many red flags as well, and other people made comments about Daniela as well, but he still believed her.
However, I really loved that when he realized that she didn't feel the same way about him, he broke up with her, because he loved her way too much to see her unhappy. He would rather let her go to see her happy, even if it was with someone else, which shows how much he loves her and that he is mature.
All in all, I think he is a great character who was a bit annoying and toxic in the second part of the first season, but he was an amazing friend in the first season, and I really liked how he owned up to his mistakes. He is a great guy and a great friend, and he truly loved Luna. He is a good character.
Matteo: I have a really hard time deciding what to think about him. He is such a charming guy, and while he is a bit self-absorbed, he does it with such ease without actually hurting anyone, and to be honest he isn't as selfish as most people like to present him. He is a really complex character, and I do think he is not a bad person, but he's made a few really questionable decisions.
I never really understood why they were together with Ambar. Like, I get that they are the two best skaters, but I don't think they are compatible, and I doubt they were ever in love with each other. As I said before, Matteo is also a bit selfish and self-absorbed, but he doesn't try to ruin other people's lives to stay on top. I think he made the right choice when he broke up with her after what she did to Luna and Simon. However, I didn't like how he was clearly pursuing and flirting with Luna while he was still dating Ambar. It wasn't right, and he clearly had feelings for her since the very beginning. In his defense, I don't think he realized that until later. But it still wasn't right, and he shouldn't have acted that way. I also didn't really understand why he wanted to get back together with Ambar when he was clearly in love with Luna, just because she got together with Simon. I think that was a big mistake.
He wasn't always the nicest with Simon. He kind of came around at the end, but in the beginning he was sometimes really mean to him. I guess it was because he'd already had feelings for Luna, but he still could've been nicer.
I think he actually changed a lot by the end of the first season, which I really liked. I think he changed the most, and it was great to see how the love he felt for Luna and Luna herself changed him.
Ambar: What a character. She is really pretty and beautiful and a good skater. I also have to give it to her that she is really good at manipulating people and making it look like she is innocent, especially when it comes to Luna.
But I can't say she is a good person. I know she is very complex, and the reason why she acts like this is mostly Sharon's fault, who never really cared about her and kept saying the same bullshit to her. She wants to be the best, which is normal, and there's nothing wrong with that, but she is trying to do so by hurting others and "eliminating" them. She didn't just manipulate people and tell them lies, but she also tried to hurt them physically. Like when she made Luna fall by doing something to the skate she was using. She took it too far several times and caused a lot of damage.
But at the same time, I feel sorry for her. Not just because of Sharon, but also because of Matteo and Luna. While I don't think they were actually in love with Matteo and she tried to manipulate him as well, as I said before, I don't think Matteo was right. He should've broken up with her before pursuing Luna. And while I don't agree with what Ambar did to Luna, I can imagine how bad she was feeling when it seemed like Luna was taking everything from her: her role in the Roller, her boyfriend. And combining that with Sharon's influence on her... It was the perfect recipe for disaster.
All in all, she is also a complex character, but she was a bit too much for me. I know she will become a better person, which I can't wait to happen.
Nina and Gaston are great; I couldn't wait for them to get together. Sharon is probably the worst character; I really disliked her. Luna's parents are great. Jazmin is so funny; I really enjoy her character. Jim, Yam, and Ramiro are great as well, sometimes a bit annoying. Cato and Tino are really funny, but sometimes they are a bit too much. And I really love Tamara. She is such a lovely woman and so supportive.
Great season, I really enjoyed it.

I enjoy when Leonetta have "spicy" moments. I actually love it. But with lutteo it's just creepy for some reason. Even though I know the actors in Violetta also had a big gap somehow their bond behind the scenes makes it a lot less weird

How do you feel about the age gap between tini and jorge when they filmed violetta? Do you think is it weird? Or not?
The actress who played Jackie said that Tini and Jorge had to sign an agreement because of the kisses. It was very professional. Also it's obvious that Jorge always was very respectful to her so I don't see anything weird about it. And Tini and Jorge are in very good terms still after so many years..It was just a job. Ruggero tho...he was allegedly very problematic towards Karol

Soy Luna- Season 2
This season was a...mess. Everything happened after each other; it was definitely more dramatic and eventful than the first season. Did I like it better than the previous one? Probably not when it comes to Lutteo, but it was a great season, and I really enjoyed it. Let's talk about the characters:
Luna: I liked her in this season, but probably a bit less than in the first one. I still love her energies; I loved how she stood up for herself in this season more and had more clear boundaries. However, I have to admit that some of those mighty speeches of hers annoyed me a bit.
I felt really sorry for her about the whole Matteo thing. She really tried to talk to him and figure out what his problems were. I think she did what she could've done and probably even more. And I also really liked that she stopped trying after a while, and I fully understood her not wanting to hear Matteo out or not being able to believe him after everything that happened. I also felt really sorry for her after the whole Vidia thing. It was so wrong of Matteo that he denied her, and the whole fake girlfriend thing was also really hurtful to watch. However, I understood when Matteo got mad at her for not telling him anything about the search they were doing for Luna's biological parents. I think he really cared about her and would have helped her if she had told him everything. I get that they weren't together when they started the search, but she could've confided in him later. I also didn't like the "I didn't have the time excuse," because she had more than enough time to tell him, but she didn't even try it once. I also didn't like how she handled the situation when they were talking about Matteo's deleted record. The whole positive thing wasn't really helpful, and I also didn't like how she immediately said that he shouldn't think about that now because the Roller needs him. I think that was a bit selfish of her, considering Matteo gave up a lot of things for that, and rather than hearing him out and trying to comfort him, the only thing she can think about is the roller. I think it's okay if people just want to mourn their losses. You can't expect them to just move on and forget about it, especially if it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them. But I don't think she deserved Matteo's words. Those were really harsh. She also was mad at Matteo for being jealous of Simon and Seb, when in reality both of those people liked her or were even in love with her. And I know, I know, that Luna and Simon have been friends since childhood, but I understood why he was a bit angry that Luna tells him everything and so little to him. He was her boyfriend, and he just wanted to know what's going on with her. I also think it wasn't appropriate how she acted during the whole Vidia contest. Again, she shouldn't have picked sides, and it kind of felt like she did, which I, again, understand why it was hurtful for Matteo.
I also didn't like how she kept saying this deal is just as important for Simon as for Matteo, because it wasn't true. Matteo went against his father, who only paid for his school and nothing else. Yeah, it was important for Simon, but Matteo kind of sacrificed everything so he could do what he actually loves. Again, it still doesn't mean Matteo's behavior was okay, but it kind of bothered me a bit when she said something like that.
I was also so happy for her that she finally found out who she was. I know it's not going to be easy for her to process everything, but she deserves to know the truth.
All in all, I still like her; she is still a lovely girl, and I love how passionate she is. She went through some hard shit in the second season. And even though she was a bit annoying and too much sometimes, I really enjoyed her character.
Simon: I probably liked him better in this season. I really enjoyed his character, and he was still the nice and kind guy we got to know in the first season.
I felt really bad for him because of the way Matteo treated him during the whole Vidia thing; that was really not right of him.
I really loved how sweet he was with Ambar. I really felt sorry for him, because she was using him in the very beginning. Their love was definitely unexpected, but I really enjoyed them together, but again, I really felt for him when he found out that she caused the fire. Or when he got into the middle of the fight of his bandmates.
It definitely wasn't his best season, poor soul, but he stayed his old self, which I really loved.
Matteo: He didn't become a less complicated and complex character in this season, that's for sure.
I didn't really agree with the way she treated Luna in this season. I really hate this "I did that to protect you" thing. It is so garbage, especially when in reality it didn't make anything easier or better; on the contrary. I think it was also not right for him to keep searching for Luna's company, though, and to get jealous. Having said that, I liked how he tried to fix it by telling Luna the truth and that he didn't stop and performed that really good song. They got together, but they obviously needed to create more drama to separate them. I didn't like how Matteo handled the whole Vidia thing. I don't think it was the right choice to say he doesn't have a girlfriend, get into a PR relationship (for like 5 minutes), and then try to embarrass Simon. He also knew that since after all of these decisions he almost immediately regretted it, but that doesn't make them right. I get that he really wanted to have his own record, but still. He was selfish a lot of the time, and he was sometimes really mean to people.
However, at the same time, I felt really bad for him. I can imagine how difficult it was for him to deal with the situation his father got him into. It was really hard to see how much he didn't care about what he wanted, and when he finally listened, he basically abandoned him. I understand why Matteo wanted that deal so badly and that he has so much to prove. This obviously doesn't justify his behavior, but I understand why he was under so much pressure and why he was so easy to manipulate. It seemed like he was really confused and didn't know what to do, what's right and what's wrong. He just wanted that deal so badly to prove himself to his father and to stand on his own feet. I also agreed that it was a bit annoying how Luna told everything to Simon but nothing to him. And how he is portrayed as this perfect someone, or rather how Luna portrays him, such as when in reality we all have faults, and Simon does have some as well.
And this might be a hot take, but I kind of agreed with him when he said that nobody gives a shit about his problems. People like Gastón and Luna knew how much this deal meant for him, that he sacrificed so he can follow his dream. And I know he didn't act and behave the best way during those days, but nobody really sat down with him and heard him out. Nobody really was just there for him. Everybody told him to just forget about it, that they can't do anything to solve it, or that he should just think about something else. I get it; I truly do. The world doesn't revolve around him, but again, he sacrificed a lot, and he was clearly scared his father would be mad at him, that he might have to go to another school he doesn't want to. And rather than helping him and being there for him, people kind of just swept it under the carpet and wanted him to move on immediately from something that meant the world to him.
All in all, he wasn't his best self in this season, and he did and said really stupid things, but at the same time, I felt really sorry for him.
Ambar: I have so many conflicting thoughts when it comes to her. I know she is a complex character and a lot of bad things happened to her, but I don't like that people try to excuse her behavior using those.
She did some really horrible things in this season, like trying to make it look like Luna destroyed the camera and using Simon (while knowing Jazmin had feelings for him), but when she burned down the rink, that was one of the worst things she's ever done. I know it's only the second season, but I really wish this whole rink and Simon thing would've been the thing that made her change and be different, but rather she joined another group and didn't really understand why people were mad at her and why she needed to suffer those consequences. I also didn't like how she blackmailed Matteo; however, he shouldn't have fallen for her schemes, and he should've just told Luna the truth.
However, I really felt sorry for her because of the whole Sharon and Sol thing. Poor soul, when finally she knew who she was, she realized she was lied to. It was so disgusting what she did to her, and she didn't deserve that.
She always makes the seasons more interesting, that's for sure, but she can be a bit too much sometimes. I really liked her more soft side, and I can't wait to see more of the real Ambar.
Gaston and Nina were really cute in this season. I understood why Gaston got mad at her, but I think he overreacted a bit. Like, yeah, she shouldn't have done that, but I understood her reasons, and he just wanted Gaston to have a choice, so it wasn't like he needed to go to Oxford. Then he proceeded to do the very same thing with her. But I still adore them together, and I will miss them so much. Sharon is still the worst, and while I don't think Alfredo was the best father, I really loved how sweet he was with both Luna and Ambar. And he was funny as well. I didn't really like Juliana at first, even though she was right in some things, but by the end I started really liking her.
It was a really good season; I really enjoyed it. I wasn't the biggest fan of the end, though, with Luna and Simon at the beach. It was a bit confusing as well, because when Luna hugged Simon, it kind of looked like she'd already started developing feelings for him (one of the most annoying and unrealistic plotlines in the next season, I might add), but then she looked at the ring, which was given to her by Matteo, and he said it lights up when he thinks about her, so was she thinking about him and about him thinking about her when she looked at it, or what?
But after everything, it was a really good season, and I really loved it. 8/10.

Ruggero didn't get enough consequences for what he did to Cande and the underage Karol (according to Valentina and Samuel). Something more, the SL fans encourage him to continue with Karol (who I repeat...was UNDERAGE! when that allegedly happened) and continue hating on Cande who was nothing more than a victim. Even if nothing ever happened with Karol, it's still a fact he cheated on Cande and she few times stated he was abusing her. (Threw a remote at her and once she hid in the bathroom scared because he was mad at her).
