Sooooo...I found an old audio of an aparent *confession* scene of Shikamaru to Ino. I don't have any idea where it came from but I think it may be from a cd-drama or even one of the old radio shows. In any case, I really liked it so...I recreated the scene in a comic!! 😆🙌

P.S: Also, here you have my take on how this would be in the tsukuyomi version 🤗

Sasuke and Itachi in canon:
Sasuke: I'm going to kill you, Itachi.
Itachi: Whaaaat? Oh no don't do that...
Road to Ninja Sasuke and Itachi:
Itachi: Sasuke please stop telling everybody that I'm the ugly brother.
Sasuke: Get ratioed NERD.

i wish they could've done a filler episode on the alternate universe we see in road to ninja that wasn't for tenten's infinite tsukuyomi dream... i like the concept- an episode of her being self aware and trying to escape but ultimately succumbing to everything she's wanted, there's some kind of horror to it. but i doubt creepy neji, mean hinata, playboy sasuke and a cold naruto whose name isn't even naruto anymore are part of her greatest desires is all i'm saying 😭

I've watched a few YouTube reviews of Return to Neverland in the past (spoiler alert all but maybe one or two were being a tad unfair towards it I'm so sorry RTN baby you deserve better no one gets you like I get you <3). And one question that pops up a lot that got me thinking and since I'm posting a lot more Peter in the last 2 days than usual, I figured I'd address the question.
The question is: If flying was really the only way out of Neverland, why couldn't Peter just carry her through the second star and take her back home himself?
And that, to my annoyance, was a pretty valid question to be asking.
Why didn't Peter just carry her back to London?
The first obvious answer to me is that if he did that, there'd be no story. That's the outside world answer.
The in-universe answer was lost on me, until now.
Thinking and confronting the revelation of Peter's character development from the 1st movie to JATNP to the movie sequel and beyond made me look further deeper into the story of Return to Neverland and made me look at Peter and Jane's interactions in a new light. And finally after what has been months of this question haunting the back of my brain, I finally have something close to a concrete answer that I am very satisfied with.
Why didn't Peter just take Jane back to London himself?
It's because he's noticed that there's something else in Jane that's weighing her down that's not just the situation in her family.
One of the bigger but not the biggest pieces of Peter's character that we see got developed and improved was Peter's ability to Read The Room.
In the first movie, he's awful at reading the room. Missing entire social clues and feelings like Wendy's jealousy and anger. In RTN, he catches on to people's feelings rather quickly and can sometimes effectively deal with them (like using Tink's jealousy to his advantage).
In Jane's first escape attempt with the raft, while she's building and checking everything, we see Peter has and is spending a good amount of time watching her very intently. He's so focused on Jane Tink even fails to get his attention. He's busy trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with her. Even while speaking with Jane, he's still trying to figure out what her problem was. He prods, asks invasive questions and watches her body language until he finally figures it out and everything clicks into place.
He sees Jane has lost her faith. Her hope. Her belief. He sees how badly the war has been affecting her and this in tandem was affecting her relationship with her family back home. That's why she wanted to go home so badly. To make things right and apologise. Though yeah, apologising will fix things, it won't get rid of the root of the big problem: which is Jane's lack of faith.
And that's where Peter steps up. He engages with her, banters with her and includes her in on the group. His personal goal is to reignite Jane's faith. And the only way he can see that truly is if Jane is able to fly on her own with pixie dust, which will align with the main goal of helping Jane return home. Even when the stakes get higher and Tinkerbell's life is on the line, Peter still has Jane's best interests at heart by including her into the Lost Boys and letting her let loose in a way she could've never have done back in war-torn London.
And he knows his goal was finally completed the moment he saw her soaring through the sky with the brightest smile on her face, looking at peace. It was then, he knew it was finally time for her to head home back to her mother.
He didn't fight to make her stay because while she's clearly having fun on Neverland, he knows she'll be her happiest back home with Wendy. And if there's one thing Peter wants for all his Lost Boys & Girls (but also especially for the Darlings), it's for them to happy and hopeful.
TL;DR: Peter didn't let Jane leave because he can see she's unhappy and hopeless, so he tries to cheer her up and reignite her hope and once it's reignited, only then does Peter help guide her home.

🏅✨🍰👩‍🏭 please!
🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).
Finally getting the feel for short fics, stressing less about details or prose, starting multiple wips in a short amount of time instead of waiting until they're totally perfect in my head.
✨ Choose three adjectives to compliment your own writing.
Hoo-boy, lemme see... Raw. Evocative. Unflinching. (I think?)
🍰 Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave).
Your snowed in Office AU, your hike club/ryokan/beachside confession oneshot, and this one fic by Imaginarivalued, it was his RTN speculative fic before the movie came out and tbh, I haven't reread it since then, but I still think about it and it had all the slightly cliche teenage slice-of-life moments that I ever wanted from the source material. 😂 I don't really read straight fluff, so something that goes down like an inspiring snack is what I describe a comfort fic for me. I could definitely describe "Chicken Ramen for the Soul" collection as a bag of mixed inspiring snacks, hehe. I still haven't been reading nearly enough so I feel like I could add other fics here, but nothing else coming to mind. 😅
👩‍🏭 If one of your fics was going to get you arrested, which one and why?
Omigosh, not you too! 😂 None currently that's posted! Maybe my Genin/Jonin-sensei dubcon fic? Trying to think if I have anything worse in the works. XD I feel like I got up to some shenanigans in DMs recently, but I'm blanking. q u q;;;

Hi! Hi! It's the first time for me to find someone who shipped both Naruto/Sakura & Sasuke/Sakura, can I ask why you love both ships? Also, as Naruto/Sasuke shipper, I want to ask what do you think about Naruto and Sasuke's relationship?
Hey, getting a lot of asks lately lol
SasuSaku: The first ship I shipped when I got into Naruto. Although I started to leave it for NS during Shippuden, I came back to it after the manga ended to try to understand why it ended towards them over NaruSaku. I looked at the series again from an SS pov and I get why it was where the writer decided to go with. Plus, it's a cute dynamic. It had power back in part 1. Sasuke considered her to be precious and went on a rampage because she got hurt. Sakura loved him to the point where she knew he was suffering. I think it could've been handled better after 699 (I feel that we didn't see more of sasuke returning his feelings for sakura).
NaruSaku: I began to attach myself to it when Shippuden started. At the time, I thought SS was dead and the author seemed to be going for "Sakura moved on and started to return Naruto's feelings" route with the increase of NS moments during shippuden. The RTN movie, the NS hug after the pein arc, Sai/Yamato being NS suppoters, the filler episodes lol. Heck, they even had their moments back in part 1. Although SS was my first ship, I swore up and down that it was going to end NS. I do think that kishi was going for that ending, but changed his mind later, I don't really believe the "red-herring" thing.
****I like to HC that Naruto is still in love with her, and Sasuke is the only one who knows. (Naruto does love Hinata but never got over Sakura, no matter how much he tries to), but that's a HC****
SasuNaru: I do ship it as well. I don't ship it like I do with NS/SS, but I understand why people would think that SNS could've been canon as well. What stops me from raising it the same point of those two ships is the fact that the author only sees them as brothers. despite the queer subtext that kishi accidentally gave them, I believe that kishi never intended to give SNS any romantic implications. However, I think it's also something cute to think about. where it turns out that they weren't really feeling familial love, but romantic love but never realized it. Had it not been for kishi bro-zoning them and giving them female love interests, it would've been a great way to introduce a queer MC/endgame into shonen manga.

Honestly SP seems to make me hate ships that I normally would not hate because they're in the realm of fanfiction and fan art and I think that's harmless. Not taking the toxic fandoms into account it was SP that made me hate NaruSaku and Ichiruki.
I'll make this brief. Why do I now hate Ichiruki? I didn't always hate it. I was actually more of a fan of Ichiruki than Ichihime until I reread the bleach Manga last year and then watch the anime as well and I grew annoyed every time there was an Ichiruki moment. Not only does it break the pacing of scenes it makes characters acting out of character Ichigo and rukia especially. I don't mind non-canon crack ships as long as it's kept in the realm of fan art and fanfiction and not inserting it into what is supposed to be Canon moments in the story and at the expense of other characters.
What could have been an amazing movie where we explored a mirror universe instead we had NaruSaku the movie where Naruto and Sakura are acting both out of character and it kind of feels like there were two movies in one and the version that Kishimoto wrote was mostly cut from the cutting room floor.
There was a huge opportunity to explore a different aspect of Hinata and Sasuke's characters. Instead we got some stupid ship movie with NaruSaku. I mean there was so much potential with road to ninja Hinata and Sasuke and it was wasted. I mean the exact opposite of who these characters are in personality. I mean there's so much you could have explored. The best scenes of that movie arguably were like 5% of the film if even that and when you compare it to the likes of One piece strong world which came out a few years before actually respected The source material and the author you could tell the difference is night and day hell Naruto the last felt like a genuine story by Kishimoto and you can tell the difference between that film and road to ninja.
I argue that the tie into the movie was better than the movie itself because it actually explored Ino and explored the road to ninja version of Sakura who arguably was more likable than her canon counterpart. It's rare that you get to explore near universe versions of characters concepts are usually explored in science fiction and the very fact that SP wasted a cool concept was tossed aside for a freaking ship that had no chance in hell ever being Canon will never not piss me off.
SP makes it seem like every anime they seem to do a series of it makes it seem like that series is concerned with shipping and I don't think shipping is bad but it should never come at the expense of a Canon story written by the author. The author and only the author in my eyes in an official product should be able to dictate what ships happen and what ships don't for better or for worse we're not the people that choose who ends up with who the author does. This shipping bullshit kills the integrity in my opinion of these stories that we all enjoy because it seems like certain people are more concerned with the shipping aspect then the actual story
Honestly I was never a fan of Sakura, but it was more her fandom that made me hate her, SP's bias was just the icing on the cake that gave me more reason to dislike it.
I am more of an IchiRuki fan I watched the anime long before the manga hence all the scenes made me a fan though I have nothing against IchiHime and after reading the manga it was obvious why they happened and that SP was really bias towards IchiRuki through out the anime. Its no surprise the author had complaints and refused to let them do another season without his supervision.
Yes RTN was ruined by NaruSaku honestly considering it was set after Pain's confession and none canon it could have tied into Hinata's feelings for Naruto/Menma while exploring a different take. I really want to know why Menma ended up dark side considering he had a family and Hinata clearly loved him. It could have been a sweet story where Hinata toughened up to help Menma after people rejected him for the fox.
So true SP's shipping bias is so unprofessional and as you said ruins the integrity of the stories as they force a ship that contradicts canon and usually in ways that aren't believable.

Hey with all this talk of Minato(eww) and KUSHINA how do you think the story of Naruto would have changed if they stayed alive?
Change completely! At least half the shit Hiruzen let happen, I have faith Minato wouldn't allow as hokage. Naruto would be properly trained from his childhood, he and Sasuke would still be friends... hold on is there a filler about this?
Maybe I'm mixing it up with the rtn movie, but I think I've seen post like that (tell me if there is, I've been building up the courage to watch fillers >:o)
Most things I imagine for Kushina and her husband (lol) being alive would be based on my wishes... Kushina as a sensei or helping the hokage, Naruto being strong and skilled, Jiraiya doing his job and being present in his life~

how would tobirama and his family feel if they get to meet Tobirama's children from another dimension (Tobirama would be curious about the trips between dimensions)
Are you talking about a parallel dimension that is the same but with changes like the RTN movie or one that’s a completely different (different spouses, different wars or peace, etc..). Also who are you meaning when you say family? Because if you mean the latter of the first question I’ve answered a portion of that for his kids not too long ago.
But either way Tobirama would find it fascinating~

I mentioned this in a reblog of a different post altogether but I felt it was worth having this observation be its own post.
I adore Peter's development from the first movie to RTN. It isn't the most visible thing ever but you can tell he's changed from the first to the sequel and it's prominence is most shown in how he reacts when he hears someone wants to go home.
In the original 1953 movie, when he learns Wendy and her brothers want to return home, he's seriously mad. He tells them that once they leave, they can never come back. When Wendy wants to say goodbye, he blatantly ignores her. He also doesn't try to help them get them back home (this is now before the kidnapping).
Then there's RTN, while he's sad that Jane wants to leave, he ultimately does decide to help her get back home. And if you consider the games canon, she and Danny visit Neverland semi-regularly with permission from Wendy.
By RTN, he's made peace with his loved ones growing up. And this is especially cemented when he meets Wendy again, all grown up, and sees that she's still the same girl he met and befriended all those years ago. And that all these years later, she still believes in him. That would've solidified his resolve in being okay with others growing up.
That's character development and I love that for him

I am glad that road to ninja movie is simply forgotten after Boruto and the Naruto Ending. It was non canon trash and it deserves to stay that way. I don't even care about shipping but i didn't like how rtn Hinata was portayed there. Or even rtn Naruhina. rtn Naruto ( Menma ) deserves better than rtn Hinata. I am just glad we keep that fanservice to the wrong crowd movie behind of us.
Yup same here

Welcome to my TED talk about
The Wasted Potential Of Menma Uzamaki
Tumblr media
I find it very ironic that for a series with MULTIPLE foils/evil counterparts for its main character when it came time to make a literal evil counterpart they dropped the ball because unlike the other counterparts seen in Road To Ninja Menma is seemingly no different from Naruto besides a different name and having parents, the reason Menma is evil in the movie is because Tobi is controlling him as at the end his black hair turns to blonde and he had the Sharingan. I just feel like they should’ve went full hog on the Evil Naruto thing like making him a Naruto that gave in to hate and dedicated his life to destroying the village, make Naruto face what he could’ve became if he didnt have so many people beside him, add in a plot point of Menma being resentful of his parents for putting a demon inside him(Naruto literally punched Minato in the face when they first met) like you can keep Tobi, you can keep the other alternates, You can even keep Sakuras subplot but come one make an actual Evil Naruto thats his own person and not a manifestation of Narutos negative thoughts. Also they could at least use him in other media like in video games where he’s his own character or at least an alternate costume for Naruto.
Now we talk about the other side of the Ryo
The Nonsensical Existence of Menma Namikaze.
Tumblr media
Menma Namikaze unlike his movie counterpart is an actual alternate of Naruto, He has differences in his appearance, his personalties different,he grew up with friends and bonded with Kurama much earlier but theres one problem: His existence makes no fucking sense because he along with the other RTN counterparts appear in the Infinite Tsukuyomi dream of TENTEN of all people and the jutsu is supposed to put those under its affects in a dream world where they have everything they’ve ever wanted:
Hinatas is her dating Naruto
Shinos is him taming giant bugs
Meis is her getting married
Lee gets Sakuras Love
Kankurō has a giant robot puppet
Gaara has a happy life with all his love ones and has Naruto as a best friend since childhood
And TenTen dreams of a world where everyone the opposite of themselves…do you see the problem here?
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk
