As you're walking along you almost step in drops of blood, realize its part of a trail that leads into the woods. There's also the faint scent of a demon.

Gideon is walking into the woods already when he notices the blood. He can smell the demon and picks his pace up, wanting to check on the status of the one bleeding.

He doesn't know if it's a wounded animal, human, demon or otherwise. He just knows it's blood. He wouldn't want an animal to suffer, and he can definitely smell a demon in the breeze...
