When I tell you we spent at LEAST 3 hours on just the warhammer planning things out with cubes and shit, I am not exaggerating!

Gideon stands there in thought as Koorogi comes back. He squints into the treeline, and then glances to the demon next to him.

"I think I have an idea."

He smirks, speaking a bit louder so that someone nearby could hear if they were paying attention.

"You know who I think is the most beautiful woman in all of Japan? Uzui Hinatsu-"

He can't even get the sentence out before an extremely uptight shorter demon comes barreling out of the treeline. He gets into Gideon's face. But he has to stand on his toes to do it.

"YOU TAKE THAT BACK YOU SON OF A BITCH, LADY TAMAYO IS THE FAIREST WOMAN IN ALL OF JAPAN!!"

The new demon glances over to Koorogi, and then back to Gideon. "... Oh. It's you. My lady has been expecting you both."

He casts Gideon one more death glare before leading the way past a veil. Gideon looks to Koorogi and snorts a laugh, waving a polite hand for it to go first ahead of him.

Gideon woke up to a beautiful sunset, painting the sky in the most dazzling oranges, pinks and purples. He was filled with hope, because before he had settled for a much needed nap, he'd spoken with Tanjiro.

The higher ranked Kamado boy was so kind hearted, he easily empathized with Gideon. They sought out Lady Tamayo through her messenger cat, and she had sent back a reply with directions on how to locate her.

Gideon... Wasn't sure if the demon could read Japanese. But! He had the paper with directions and he was determined to help his new friend.

He entered the forest the same pathway he took the night before, and quietly announced himself.

"Friend? Are you here? I've returned!"

Gideon hears rustling in bushes, then the demon pokes its head out from behind the rocks.

"Yes hi, I"m still here!" It does a little excited wiggle before leaping out and landing on all fours in front of him. It seems like it feels a lot better. No more wet blood on the wrap, it's all dry now meaning the wound is healing well too. It's not out of the woods yet but some rest seemed to help.

He's glad to notice it. His demon friend was recovering nicely, even if it was a slow recovery.

He follows, keeping keen eyes out for danger or anything that may interfere with their path. They were close to the place Tanjiro had indicated... They just had one last obstacle to cross.

They jumped from the buildings. Koorogi probably *much more* gracefully than Gideon but he gets down nonetheless. Gideon looks around and sees only trees.

"...Hmm... I wonder how we find her house now. It's in this general area."

He walks along the treeline, trying to get a feel for anything strange. Her masking was *strong.* It had to be to hide away like this from even Muzan...

"See, no sane straight person would have believed me on a few different levels but I'm glad I can pass for the drunk people of this town still. Warms my heart."

He follows Koorogi to the next roof over, making the jump easily. "We've gotta cross the buildings to the far east edge. We shouldn't be too long now!"

He turns his attention to the task, waving for Koorogi to follow. A drunk man, obviously off of his ass, points from where he's sitting and says "The fuck is that thing?!"

Gideon looks over to the man, shock and disgust immediately paint his face. Turning his voice a little more deep, he shouts: "Hey man! Fuck off, thats my wife you've just insulted!"

Then he grabs Koorogi and runs into the alley, the man on the ground too shocked or embarrassed to retort.

They scale the roof and Gideon peers over to see if the man had moved. He looked like he actually just passed out after that. Gideon snorts. "Drunk people are great."

Hikaru is a beloved brother figure for him. His death in the timeline, followed shortly by Kyojuro, sends Gideon into a grieving state. Since the impact of Hikaru's love endures after death, Gideon learns from it while grieving. Holds Genya closer, fights more fiercely to be able to take on any threat. He's not driven by vengeance, but he is driven by what is most important to him in the life he's living.

Hikaru leaves Gideon his haori. An elder brother handing down a family treasure to the younger brother. In memorium, Gideon sews the Haori to line his own grey one. When he's uncertain, he can be reminded of Hikaru's warmth, and that he was and still is loved by his chosen family. In this way, Hikaru endures, and so does Gideon.

I think he grew prone to biting and scratching in order to get by in a harsh world, and to me his resilience is part of what makes him so beautifully himself. I could be kind to him, though. I could show him gentleness. I could, slowly but surely, in the same way one earns the trust of a skittish stray cat, convince him that my touch will never come accompanied by pain. That, around me, he can allow himself to be soft. To relax. I could be the one he associates with warmth and safety, the one he longs to be held by after a hard day. I could be his home.
