Sunny side up
These flowers are all over L.A. and if I were the emperor of flower naming, they would be called sunny-side-ups, for two obvious reasons: a) their resemblance to breakfast and, b) their cheerful disposition.
They're actually a kind of poppy called romneya; their flowers are the largest of any in the poppy family.
I hear they go well with bacon roses (go ahead, look it up).

[Image Description: Three photos of Romneya. They are big, blowsy white flowers (with small yellow centres) on tall, thin stalks. The first photo focuses on a Romneya that has its big white petals fluttering in the wind. The second photo shows several Romneyas from below, so we see several skinny stalks with white petals spread out like tutus. The last picture is of a single Romneya; its petals appear quite wrinkly. With white petals and small yellow centre, the Romneya looks like a fried egg. End ID.]
Romneya coulteri or Matilijia poppy or fried egg flower. Native to California and Mexico, these friends can grow quite tall. In the desert I've seen them stuck at around 2-3 feet but the group pictured here – in someone's garden – had stalks at least 6 feet tall.

Get ready to master the art of growing tree poppies with absolute finesse!
First, soak up the sunshine and find a spot with well-draining soil. Then, let's create a comfy home for our tree poppies by digging a hole twice the size of the root ball. Nestle the plant gently into its new surroundings and fill the space with soil. Once that's done, give it a good soaking and make sure to keep the soil consistently moist in dry weather. Plus, for an ongoing impressive flower display, remember to remove any spent blooms to keep the show going strong all season long!
If you're in the mood to grab a new Romneya Coulteri Tree Poppy, you can contact Healthy Harvesters, Inc.

Matilija poppy - Romneya coulteri by Arlene Schag Via Flickr: Native Matilija poppy (Romneya coulteri) in Southern California. This specimen was found growing within one mile of the Pacific ocean, the light hit it just right. The plant may grow up to 8 feet tall and very wide, definitely an outstanding show when in bloom. Romneya coulteri is endemic to California and Baja California in Mexico. Thrives in full sun and well drained soil. Plant can vigorously sprout from creeping rootstock. Matilija poppy (ma-TIL-i-ha or ma-til-EE-ha) is named after Chief Matilija of the Chumash Native American Indian Tribe. In the stalk, there is a clear to yellowish liquid substance that the Cahuilla used to drink. The plant is used medicinally for skin and gum problems and stomach upset. The Chumash people believed the petals of the flower are like the soul of a maiden, who died of a broken heart. Their Chumash gods transformed her into the pure white petal. This plant grows from the Sespe Creek Drainage in Ventura county south to Temescal canyon and into Baja California. This poppy shares its name with Matilija Canyon north of the town of Ojai, where the beautiful plants are said to protect the grave of the daughter of the Matilija Indian tribe's chief.

Fried Egg Plant
If there is a plant with more names than the Fried Egg plant, I would be very surprised. This lovely tree is growing near my home and is just now coming into bloom. When I went to check it out online I discovered that it has multiple identities. I think it may be a villain on the run. Here is the Fried Egg plant, Gordonia plant, or Polyspora axillaris. It is also referred to by its other…

Colt looked up to the broadcast of the fight, enjoying a nice taco bucket from the school food court's Tacos-an-More. The fights were pretty wild so far. It was pretty fun watching some people he recognized duke it out. This time, though, one combatant in particular caught his attention.
"Mashiro? Why does that name sound familiar...?" He opened his aShine and searched the name, finding some info about the Mashiro School of Martial Arts, a detective agency, and one Linnaeus Mashiro as a former player on a Hecaball team. "Oh, that's gotta be it!"
As the fight continued, Colt rapidly scrolled through the information, eyes darting from one screen to the other as he tried to keep up with the action. "Dude.... This is his grandfather?! No way! And the old man's not even augmented! That's wild!" He looked back to the aShine and the news articles on Linnaeus, focusing mainly on a few dynamic photos from an intense Hecaball match. "Damn.... If he's got the genes of his grandad and two fucking awesome augmented arms.... He's gotta be hella strong."
He watched the rest of the fight quietly, making some mental notes. This was definitely something he'd be looking into more.

Removable vs. Fixed Implant Dentures: Which is Right for You?
When it comes to dentures, choosing between removable and fixed implant dentures is a crucial decision. Each option offers distinct advantages and considerations, making it essential to understand them to make the best choice.
Removable Implant Dentures
Advantages:
Ease of Cleaning: Removable implant dentures can be taken out for thorough cleaning, which aids in maintaining oral hygiene.
Flexibility: These dentures can be adjusted or relined as the mouth changes over time, providing a customizable fit.
Cost-Effective: Removable dentures are generally more affordable compared to fixed options.
Considerations:
Stability: Although modern designs have improved stability, removable dentures may still shift or feel less secure than fixed dentures.
Comfort: Some individuals might find removable dentures less comfortable, especially if they are not fitted properly.
Fixed Implant Dentures
Advantages:
Stability: Fixed implant dentures are anchored in place with implants, offering a stable and secure fit that closely resembles natural teeth.
Comfort: These dentures feel more like natural teeth due to the absence of removable parts and do not require adhesives or pastes.
Functionality: Fixed dentures usually provide superior functionality, making chewing and speaking easier.
Considerations:
Cleaning: Fixed dentures cannot be removed, so maintaining oral hygiene requires special techniques and tools.
Cost: The price of fixed implant dentures is typically higher due to the complexity of the installation and materials used.
Surgical Procedure: The placement of fixed dentures involves a surgical procedure, which may result in a longer recovery time.
Making the Choice
The decision between removable and fixed implant dentures depends on individual lifestyle, budget, and personal preferences. Removable implant dentures might be preferred for their flexibility and lower cost, while fixed implant dentures offer enhanced stability and comfort.
Consulting with a dental professional is crucial for making an informed decision. A dental expert can evaluate oral health, discuss needs and preferences, and recommend the most suitable option.
Both removable and fixed implant dentures provide significant benefits and can greatly enhance one's quality of life, offering confidence in a beautiful and functional smile.
