And I don't blame Mixxy for her 'seduction then sabotage' modus operandi because who wouldn't shoot their shot in her position. Also -unrelated I swear- Dumbass (affectionate), Suck a Dick! A watch prompted by us talking about Calamity Jane and our joint appreciation of Doris Day. This was her first starring movie role. A charming, easy watch. She and Janis Paige should've had more scenes together though. With the added bonus of their being potential for multiple gay pairings.

Goddess and Queen of Sea 🌊

In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite was the goddess of the sea, the queen of the sea, and the wife of Poseidon. She was a daughter of Nereus and Doris (or Oceanus and Tethys). Under the influence of the Olympian pantheon, she became the consort of Poseidon and was later used as a symbolic representation of the sea. Her Roman counterpart is Salacia, a comparatively minor figure, and the goddess of saltwater. Lori was chosen as the Queen of the Sea because of her connection to the ocean.

Interview with the Vampire meets The Little Mermaid (Disney) meets The Little Mermaid (Hans Christian Andersen) with a strong Our Wives Under the Sea influence and oceanic horror vibes.

Tags and things to mind: body horror (we’ll get there), manipulation, and betrayal. And Lestat’s still Lestat (we don’t woobify Lestat in this house🏡), this is still Interview with the Vampire.

Fun stuff: body horror, manipulation, and betrayal! But also sword fights, undersea exploration/adventure, dubious deals, Daniel Molloy!, sirens as fanged blooddrinking underwater vampires essentially, Louis as our protagonist and Prince Eric figure, Lestat as our dual romantic interest and antagonist (our Ariel AND our Ursula figure), and fun fairytale vibes.
