If it's not too strange / personal to ask, would you be able to elaborate on what that entails and what's appealing about that specific rp for you? I'm curious but I can't quite get my head around it

I love talking about this stuff, so thanks for asking! I'm aware it's very weird but I think the reasoning behind it is surprisingly normal (in terms of how kinks develop).

I've explained this to a few friends on Discord so I will use those screenshots to assist me in this presentation.

so the backdrop to all of this is that I love to play the bad guy. As a small child in play-pretend games I would want to be the villain. I liked to be "it" during tag. As long as it's within the confines of a game/everyone knows we're just playing, I just like to be scary :)

But with this particular kink, I'm pretty sure it comes from some particular affecting experiences I had as a young teenager. I wrote my first Hetalia fanfic when I was 12 and then was very involved in model UN starting at age ~14. (I was really competitive about it and ended up even getting to a national competition once in high school, lol).

as a pretty weird teenage girl (now trans man) lot of my first experiences having crushes, or having someone else have a crush on me, were at model UN events. It let me feel powerful (because I was good at it) and I realized that having others act like I was powerful and threatening (in this ultimately harmless LARP type situation) was really hot to me.

I loved playing the US diplomat when I got to because obviously you get to play evil puppetmaster world power so I would lean into that and have fun with it.

The period of history I connected to most in terms of US interventionism was the Nixon era, just because there were so many examples during that period of the US trying to control the rest of the world. I ended up reading some Kissinger biographies (Kissinger by Walter Isaacson and Nixon and Kissinger: Partners in Power by Robert Dallek) when I was 18-19 and it really just cemented my obsession with the incredible harm he was able to cause and just how much of an affect he had on US foreign policy.

I'm particularly interested in economic coercion/the IMF and World Bank as instruments of US hegemony. Actually...

but ofc it's not just the 1970s, I like fantastical modern scenarios too:

so yeah! tl;dr: it's a power thing, I like it in a D/s way. I got some wires crossed in my brain and "I like when people act scared of me [sexual]" became associated with "I like when people act scared of me because they're aware of the rotten machine of US global hegemony that lurks behind my words [sexual apparently]"

Thoughts on Haytham

So there are 30 Templars I use in my writing and Rp with a split of 16 for the Selfish and 14 for the more noble ones. Haytham Kenway to me falls into the noble side of the Templars.

The noble Templars are those who despite the nature of wanting complete order still do their best to protect humanity and even go as far as to either protect or work with the assassins. Some other examples of the more noble ones are The De leserres, Robert De Sable, Alfred the Great, Shay Cormac, and yes I count him Edward Kenway.

Look if Shay counts as an assassin but never fully fledged, then Edward counts as a Templar never taking the order's vows, though he did work for them and gained from it.

In a list of top ten favorite Templars Haytham Kenway ranks in at number two because of his story, how he acts both to protect the native people from slavery and he told Lee to leave them alone God damn it man can you not listen to orders?! God Robert's men were better at this balance. Anyway.

Okay as far as Haytham Kenway goes as a character and why I like him? He is more complex. Rouge and 3 and a little bit of Black Flag give us small glimpses into who he is. I honestly think Jango Fett's line to Kenobi works best here

"I am just a simple man trying to make my way in the galaxy."

Though it would be the world but you get it.

Who is Haytham?

Really deep down, a traumatized ten year old who lost his father in a violent manner, who tried fighting back actually killing someone, who's mother his only other adult parent shunned and turned her back on him for killing, a little boy who's older sister was kidnapped (who truly knows what happens to Jennifer when she was in Damascus), and a boy who was groomed into a Templar. Again I pull a quote from Kingdom Hearts 2

"Xaldin... that's his name. He came from the darkness... He...used my anger to control me. He took all my sorrow, my sadness, my pain—and turned it all into rage. There was nothing I could do... I could no longer see the truth."

Though for Haytham it would be Birch. Brich brainwashed him into being a Templar, it didn't fully work because there was still enough of Edward in Haytham that he himself had killed Templars leading to the destruction of the colonial rite.

Haytham Kenway is a family man that is clear. He loves his parents, looks after his sister, respects Ziio enough to stay away when she tells him to and works with Ratohnhaké:ton even getting a bit miffed the Red Coat for saying "tasting the wild fruits" you cannot tell me he wasn't pissed that Ziio got insulted and that Ratohnhaké:ton was the only one mad. You also can't tell me he wasn't somewhat proud of the man his son had become.

As far as Desmond's ancestors go I would honestly put him at number Three because in terms of character development because he has four to five sources in which players can experience him. Ezio Auditore takes number one because he has four games, three books, and three short movies in which one can get to know him. Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad is on second with five, three games, his keys in Revelations, and Secret Crusade. Though in his case I guess you can count his Codex since you can read it in AC2 and on the AC wiki, so six.

Okay headcanon time!

I think honestly that in his own way he'd be proud of Desmond for sacrificing himself to save the world from burning because there would be people who are descended from friends, colleagues, and even like Desmond, descended from Ziio and Ratohnhaké:ton's people and I doubt he would ever wish harm on them.

Hey! So good to hear from you! I've followed your blog for awhile! :) I'm a sucker for Abigail, too. It's a problem. I have actually lots written for Abigail! If you look at my Abigail Roberts x reader tab, you'll find a lot of things. There are some prompts that you'll have to scroll through to get to the writing, but it's there! So, I decided to do something I've never done before and go with Modern AU! Abigail. I've never done that before and I thought it would be fun to try out. If you would prefer I write new hc's with canon, Abigail, that's fine, too! (Note: Lauren Cohan is my fc for Abigail in rp, so that's why she's here.)

Background: She grew up in the foster system after her parents passed away. She was an overachiever in high school and wanted to claw her way past the girl she was in the foster system. However, her dreams for college were put on hold when she became pregnant with Jack, and even more so once she became a single mother. She did underwear modeling and worked in a dive bar for extra money. (It seemed more likely FOR HER than her becoming an escort or a cam girl, but those are valid hc's.)

Four years later, she is amicably co-parenting with John and has an associate's degree in agriculture and business. Now, she has a small farm with fresh organic produce, animal goods like milk and eggs, flowers, and the occasional candle. She is happily in a relationship with the F!reader.

* You insist on helping her at the farmers' markets on the weekends, which is her busiest time selling products. She always attempts to talk you out of it, but you find it rewarding. You watch in awe as the businesswoman in her truly blossoms and the passion she has for her work. 

* You surprise her with wanting to visit other farmer's markets. Sometimes, it's "secret shopper" missions, but a lot of time, it's just holding hands, picking out products, and eating samples. 

* Lots of baths together! She loves to cuddle and the intimacy it can bring.

* You help her cook and bake a lot. She has a huge passion for it, but she just can't get the hang of it. I think she is better with cooking and baking in the modern AU than in canon, but she could still use some help. However, she can make a great chili! It's canonically her favorite food besides chocolate. 

* She can make a mean cocktail. She doesn't drink a lot anymore, but she loves wine, rum, and whisky. However, she worked at a bar while caring for Jack to help put her through school and learned a lot while waiting tables. 

* She is always so thankful for any time you spend with Jack. Liking Jack is a requirement. He comes first in any relationship. However, she does NOT expect you to babysit him, but she is incredibly thankful and falls in love with you a bit more each time you do something with him. 

* With you, she is used to being the big spoon, but she loves to be surprised with being the little spoon sometimes. 

* Blankets everywhere! Big chunky ones are her favorite. Example here: Her goal is to make her own! She is not really into the pillow craze. 

*She canonically loves chocolate. Bonus if the chocolate has a bit of liquor in it. It's her guilty pleasure, but she has to keep it far from Jack.  * Don't play a card game against her; you WILL lose. Especially poker. She's also great at board games. It was the only type of games the foster homes had. However, she doesn't play as many video games. You've been slowly introducing her to games. Right now, she likes to relax with Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. She'll also play with Jack or watch you play games.

Hi! I’m Alistair— you can call me that, or you can use my username for pretty much everywhere else, TheetyPie/Theety. I don’t mind either way.

I’m a trans guy, I use he/they pronouns. I’m panromantic/asexual, and I’m 27 years old.

I have 3 cats, they’re my babies. I also (as you can tell from above) have a lot of OCs, and the number is still growing. I want to turn my ideas into a bigger creation someday, still not sure exactly where I want to go with it.

I do more than write. I do art, I like video games, music, and just collecting stuff. Current obsessions are Monster High, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, makeup, crystals, and jewelry.

Rules

The most important: I do not RP smut. In the past I’ve used the fade-to-black method, but I’m not entirely comfortable with that with most of my muses.

In the same vein, DO NOT FORCE SHIPS. I love ships as much as the next guy, but I would prefer to discuss it first, or for us to agree on it. It’s cool if your muse has a crush, totally fine— mine get crushes all the time! But make sure if you want to ship, we discuss it first.

In a similar vein to that one as well, no god-modding/powerplaying. If your character is strong, an immortal being, or whatever, cool! I have some of those too. But there should always be a limit. Don’t say your character is moving mine unless we’ve talked about that. Attempt to move them. Usually I follow along as long as boundaries aren’t pushed.

Don’t kill or seriously injure my muse without permission. Fights happen, of course, but again: discussion. I’m up for threads where my canon muses are injured or killed, but not where it happens to my OCs, unless we’re getting into a backstory and another OC that’s already deceased dies. Non-serious injuries are alright to come out of nowhere with, but if it’s a first meeting, I’d prefer to plot it out.

I’m semi-selective. I’m kind of particular about who I follow and who I thread with. I prefer us to be mutuals to thread, but you don’t have to be mutuals to send me things.

I’m very bad at keeping up with people. If you message me and I don’t respond, it’s usually bc I’m shy, I forgot, or I’m busy with work. It’s not you, I promise. Usually I don’t message first bc I’m nervous.

Back to shipping: I’m also multiship. Usually my ships are in different universes, unless discussed with all parties beforehand. The exception is a few of my OCs that are partnered together— ask about their availability. I love random ships, just talk to me about them!

I love duplicates of my muses. Whether it’s “x meets self” or I find someone I share a muse with, I love RPing with just about everyone. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we have a muse in common!

One of my other most important statements, not really considered a rule, but it’s still important: if you want to know something about any muse, canon or OC, please tell me— ask or message me! I haven’t been able to write down a lot of info about any of them because I’m on mobile, but I will infodump for you if you need/want to know something. DISCLAIMERS. mun =/= muse. there are aspects of thomas that are rather unsavory, he is a complicated person and has done some questionable things in his life, for a plethora of reasons. mun does not excuse his bitterness, his attitude, or condone some of his more problematic actions, but it is this complexity that makes him such a compelling character in my opinion. in regards to that kiss scene; it was incredibly stupid of him and, even if jimmy kent had returned his feelings, kissing someone while they are sleeping is extremely inappropriate. thomas deeply regrets these actions. even though he had been led on and tricked into believing that jimmy liked him in that way, he wasn't thinking clearly and acted out of desperation, and acknowledges that it was not okay.

❄︎ Lyanna is about 34 in both the present A.SO.IAF and HO.TD timeline ❄︎ I don't specify what happened between her and Rha.eg.ar in part to give people playing him some say over his actions and because I myself have no fixed stance on what went down. It's a topic that is largely avoided and danced around when people talk to her, in part because of what people assume happened and how knowing too much about it could destabilize the realm.

❄︎ This is a R + L = J zone and a Lya.n.na is the Knight of the Laughing Tree truther zone.

❄︎ Ly.an.na doesn't marry Robert after the war. She uses the assumptions of what went down to kinda force everyone's hand, that and suddenly she's not so appealing now that she's a bastard whom she refuses to abandon and might be from assault and the prince's. In fact Lya.n.na never marries, though I tend to think she likely had more children but all of them are bastards. I tend to keep that loose because honestly I'd rather let other people insert their own muses/ocs there.

❄︎ Lyanna's cover story for Jon, since she refuses to pretend he's not hers is that he's Arthur Dayne's, though many still think he's likely Rhaegar's. When that came up and threats were made it was made clear the North would go to war over the baby and Lyanna's safety, smarter heads prevailed and the Arthur Dayne story was pushed to keep things from going off the rails.

❄︎ Lives in Winterfell with Ned's family and is very happy until you know, The Books Happen. Spends that time doing things like learning swordsmanship and all the more masculine things her father wouldn't let her learn.

❄︎ Can go south but more likely than not ends up staying in Winterfell even after Robb goes to war and fends off the Ironborn invasion.

HO.TD VERSE:

❄︎ Mainly show based since the book is a historical text full of conflicting evidence and inaccuracies as is expected from a history book. The show at least is a concrete set of events.

❄︎ She's a Stark cousin who just kinda out here living her life with her bastard son(/kids) up in the North.

❄︎ She went south for Baelon's birthday tournament and actually engaged in the joust as the knight of the laughing tree. She unhorsed several men being before being unhorsed and unmasked herself by Dae.mon. Jon was also conceived at this tourney. He father is whoever, I have an idea for how he could be a targ bastard still but it's not really important and not the default. If people want that I'm happy to do it.

Further GoT DND AU Notes

Ned and Davos are played by the same guy.

Season 1 kicks off with one party with Ned, Jon, Robb, Sansa, Theon, Bran and Arya as PCs (I think Catelyn's kind of an NPC figure here) with Tyrion and Sam joining in the fun later. In my mind I think Petyr Baelish is an NPC as well.

There's the second campaign in Essos with Daenerys, Viserys and Jorah as its small group of PCs. I imagine Viserys played Rhaegar in the previous campaign.

Jaime, Cersei, Joffrey, Varys and Robert are all NPCs under the control of our GM (I don't know whether to call him George).

The GM is a vindictive prick but he's a frustratingly good storyteller. For now at least.

Ned's a fighter, possibly paladin, Valyrian steel is sorta in the same category as magic weapons because they're so rare, the only PC Clerics are Thoros and Melisandre, both light domain clerics.

Jon's a multi-class paladin/fighter, Arya will become a rogue as she learns how the game works (Sansa too I imagine but she never actually learns how to play properly, she's an RP-er first and foremost) and Bran is a druid. Robb is a full fighter. Tyrion as a bard (though the DM plays this as a rogue with inspiration powers because he refuses to allow magic in this setting.)
