Rottmnt Headcannons (cuz why not?)

💙 Leo~

-Snorts when he laughs.

-Goes Mom Mode at nighttime.

Will grab a mug of coffee and peek in on all his brothers while they sleep, especially after the movie.

-A lot more tired than Donnie, he just trained himself not to yawn.

-Has Instagram and is constantly updating his profile.

-Will cross his arms and tap his foot when he's angry.

-Will just sit on the floor silently when he's sad.

-Sometimes he wishes Donnie would come and Turtle Pile with him.

-Will be pesky and annoying just to distract everyone from the trauma.

-Very observant and can pay close attention to detail if he pleases.

-Is absolutely heartbroken when Donnie says they aren't twins.

-Absolutely. Loves. Plushies. And will steal Raph's to snuggle with at night.

-Definitely has a unicorn hoodie and hides it from his brothers.

-Tried to convince his brothers to make a secret handshake with him but they didn't want to. (Mikey wanted to but Leo just didn't care at that point.)

💜 Donnie~

-Has the purest laugh on Earth.

-Became the funniest turtle on accident and it just boosted his bad boy image when Splinter praised him for it.

-Won't admit it, but loves Raph's plushies because of how soft they are.

-Loves cats but doesn't admit it because Leo says he like a grumpy old cat.

-Installed two more trackers on Splinter after the movie.

-Will stick close to Raph, a signal for a needed hug, when he is frustrated or overstimulated.

-Has a weird thing with fingers.

Will squirm is he sees someone bend them back to far or crack their knuckles.

-Has secretly given April permission to touch his shell when needed.

-Sometimes craves validation from April since she is a big sister to him, and an older person figure.

-Has all the social media apps.

-Is incredibly observant and takes note of everything.

-When he says he records everything, he records EVERYTHING. His systems recorded the moment Leo was beaten in the Prison Dimension, and Donnie had to sit in his lab for days to recover after coming across it the day after the invasion.

-Has to reapply his eyebrows every week.

-Boasts to his brothers about his eyebrows.

❤ Raph~

-Has plushies. And not just a few.

-Used his big blanket as his pretend shell to retract into then his brothers did so with theirs.

-Is jealous that his brothers can retract into their shells when he can't.

-Has to stay in physical contact with someone so he won't perish, especially after the movie.

-Always super duper scared for his brothers.

-Likes the idea of Donnie's trackers, although he never says it aloud.

-Secretly becomes scared, out of sadness, when his brothers or Splinter yell at him.

-Had to learn the hard way that his brothers could protect themselves, and came up with the training idea.

-Enjoys being the caretaker of his brothers.

-Partially mad at Splinter for ditching them.

-Loves when Donnie performs musical numbers when they watch movies.

-Asked Mikey for help when figuring out how to use social media. (poor thing!)

-Crushed every single one of his 27 phones, either from mistake or outright anger, and Donnie has completely lost it, being the one to make all the phones.

-Is the mom when they go out to eat.

-Doesn't have amazing hearing, either from screaming his ears out or born with it, and is conditioned to yelling loudly without making his ears bleed.

-He knows his family loves how incredibly sweet he is, and he loves that.

💛 Mikey~

-Has Wattpad, Tumblr, Snapchat, Tiktok, ProCreate and Pinterest.

-Appreciates his brother's hugs and always claims that they strengthen the family bonds.

-Loves painting April's nails and doing her hair.

-He knows he intimidates his brothers with Dr. Delicate Touch and absolutely loves it.

-Will help Raph name his plushies and arrange them on his bed.

-'Assigned' everyone plushies.

-Has books lining his wall about art, animals and pshycology.

-Became the family therapist because he wanted something to make him stand out. (and because he noticed everyone's insecurities)

-Frighteningly observant.

-Clingy, but takes it to a whole new level after the invasion.

-Helps Casey choose clothes after the apocolypse.

-Helps Donnie save money for the fam.

-Does graffiti all over the lair and on his train car.

-Got a huge plushie for Raph once.

-Chose short mask tails because he wanted to be like Donnie.

-Will paint on his brother's shell sometimes. (Not Donnie's! Don't worry!)

-Thought Raph was the parent when they were younger and was extremely confused when he was forced to learn that Splinter was the Father.

-Get's stickers from April every now and then.

I have a soft spot for 03 and rise Raphs. 03Raph would protect riseRaph from everything even though riseRaph is like twice his size.

Me thinking about how if Spots' plan does come to fruition, not only will Miles see his dad die, but will probably see the remains of the Hamato family as well.

Gosh, he'll see Aaron Jr’s. corpse as he’ll most likely be far from the Hamato home to save them, and if it's only been a few months since ROTTMNTMovie happened, then he’ll only have a short amount of time to be happy with his son.

Anyway let's talk about how the writers confirmed that RiseRaph doesn't mind his siblings cursing, as long as they aren't offending anyone. (Don’t have the X post anymore)

Rise are a dramatic bunch, they don't mind cursing like a sailor but prefer to hold out for certain moments.

So for any crossover fics out there, here how some interaction could play out (not including Mutant Mayhem)(you don't have to listen to me) -

RiseMikey cursing - RiseMikey perfers to curse when angry, Delicate Touch and in the kitchen. He is seen as the youngest of all generations, actually the youngest and shortest, a baby. So when the others see him cursing, the reaction is usually ‘oh my god the baby just cursed’ and ‘oh my god he's scary’.

RiseDonnie cursing - RiseDonnie is prone to cursing when in his lab or being a mad scientist, he does curse in normal conversation as well. It's obvious to the other turtles that he's the most, obviously, openly unhinged Donnie in the group, so the others aren't that surprised, a little shaken that this Donnie curses in normal conversations instead of when pissed off, but relatively okay with it.

RiseLeo cursing - RiseLeo curses when in active conversation and when necessary, basically in comedic moments. Although the others are surprised that a Leo is actively choosing to curse, instead of it being unconsciously, they get over it quickly as it's obvious he's different from the other Leo’s.

RiseRaph cursing - RiseRaph curses in emotional moments, when angry or stressed, and does try to suppress himself but ultimately fails. The others are surprised that he tries not to curse, and do kind of expect him to when they expect it, he does not curse when they expect it, which makes it more jarring when he does curse.

GUESS WHOSE BACKKK!!!! I know I said I wanted to be more active, but when have I ever listened to myself.

In all actuality, I'm definitely just living in the space between fandoms right now, so probably don't expect TMNT stuff anymore, sorry.

Anyway, I've had this draft saved for almost 6 months now, and since I'm on break right now, why not post it?

I've been focusing on more traditional art stuff lately, so I probably will be only posting my WIPs for a while, till I finally get a digital drawing that I'm happy with.

Friend, THANK YOU!! I like Tales Leo just fine but I really wish the TMNT fandom as a whole would stop wishing anxiety on him (and any version of Leo, really) I get it, we want to relate to our faves and as an anxiety sufferer, I extra get it. But I've never seen a single iteration of Leo who clearly had "anxiety" in the mental illness sense and it's really disingenuous to point to any moment of a Leo experiencing fear and go "OMG BABY HAS ANXIETY". And I say this as a Leo fan. I think the only turtle I'd ever point to and say "yes, THAT is anxiety" is Rise Raph, though I have my criticism about that as well. Anyway, big paragraph to say, thank you for saying what you did, I fully agree <3

You have no idea how heavily I deflated when I read this!

I have noticed a pattern of the turtles (mostly Leo) with genuine fears being labeled as boys with Anxiety. And, normally, I don't overthink the headcanons, but Tales Leo is just developing and I don't know how comfortable I am with this getting stamped on him from the get-go. It puts the thought in people's heads that it's canon.

I'm still kinda hoping that someone's going to step up and say, "No, but I feel seen because *these symptoms* or *these moments* relate to me!" so I know that all this hype has a direction or meaning.

(Saddening that we can't relate as well, but at least it has accurate representation to others, yk?)

Because I really can't see it. And I desperately wish I could.

RiseRaph has an insane amount of ease doing things that I couldn't even dream of doing. He doesn't seem to second-guess most of his choices or impulsive plans. I suppose I might be able to be convinced with a solid argument in his favor, tho.

Ok, so all stages of the 2012 and Rise boys meeting I could gather (and liked) so far:

1- Inital wonder

The Rise boys would be absolutely shocked at the fact that inter-dimensional traveling exist, and would be super amazed by the 2012 boys

12Boys shocked because RiseLeo is not the leader

12Leo and 12Raph leader-bonding through their brothers shenanigans

The Mikeys would first just be "yep, best buddies"

12Raph and RiseDonnie as murder duo

RiseDonnie interrogating 12Donnie about inter-dimensional travel

12Leo helping RiseLeo in his new leadership role, and then them both going crazy nerd fangirl over their shows

Both Raphs, Donnies and Mikeys being 200% done with both Leos self-sacrificing ass

Also the 12 being amazed by yokais existing, and Leo going crazy bc holly shit real yokai from the japanese legends

2- Inital shock

As the og post said, the Rise boys will notice how different their dynamics is.

While the Rise gang is more soft with each other, the 12 are a little more rough.

I think that maybe Rise Raph or Mikey will comment on it

RiseRaph: Uh... That's pretty rough... You ok Michelangelo?

Then I think Leo would use the pressure point thing his brothers

And I'll also add that the 12Boys will strat to trash a little on the Rise team because of their "lack" of proper ninja training (specially 12Leo that little controlling shit /affectionally), which will add on the "wow they're rude"

12Mikey would explode, specially if one of the Rise dare to say "You know, this kinda look like abuse"

3- The understanding

After the snaping of the Mikeys there would be a fight, against a villain (maybe a common one? Maybe Baxter, or idk) and would work out their differences

Maybe they would actually talk???? (I can dream)

2012 tmnt bashing discourse incoming hold up—

Ok so, the bashing of 2012 tmnt right? We all know how it’s goes and I won’t get into it but this has kept me up for the past 2hrs so!

12 Mikey hearing about it. I know for a fact he’d be throwing hands with everyone in the room if need be. A conversation of sorts would come to mind. Specifically with the Rise and 2012 teams meeting and their early interactions, arise seeing how rough and tumble the boys are for being 20yrs old, especially with Mikey.

Offhanded comments about how ‘that’s kinda harsh’ ‘you’re ok yeah?’ ‘Why is he so rude?’—

And it comes to a point where 12 Mikey’s patience and fuse has been worn paper thin before he bursts. But not in a Raph way, no in a Donnie/Leo way.

12 Mikey commenting about ‘IDK man your brother seems hella arrogant.’ ‘Your Donnie has a easily bruised ego.’ ‘Your Raph is a pushover man!’ Maybe it’s Rise Mikey who finally just has him snap.

Rise Mikey: ‘Why would you say that about my brothers? You don’t have a right to comment about them.’

12 Mikey: ‘I don’t know man, what give you the right for you and your brothers to talk about mine and how we act?’

Rise Mikey: ‘well they seem harsh and meaner then mine—‘

12 Mikey: ‘and yours seem too over bearing and over dramatic. Listen, if I can’t comment on your brothers then you and yours can’t either. End. Of. Story.’

Mikey is a verbal combatant. While his older brothers Raph and Leo handle the physical combat like champs, Mikey and Donnie as the verbal warriors. He is his brother’s biggest defender behind the scenes and is willing to go to bat for them.

12 Mikey has LITERALLY been through Hell and back with his brothers. It’d take more than a few arm punches, noogies, and teasing to get under his skin.

Advice I think the Rise!Turtles and 2012!Turtles would have for each other.

2012!Raph->Rise!Raph: It's okay to be angry as long as you do it in a healthy way. It can become your greatest strength sometimes.

Rise!Raph->2012!Raph: Don't be afraid to rely on your brothers. Just because you're strong doesn't mean you have to do it alone.

2012!Donnie->Rise!Donnie: Nothing will stay the same forever. You need to grow and adapt to your surroundings and use new tools to better yourself.

Rise!Donnie->2012!Donnie: Being a pacifist doesn't mean that fighting isn't the answer. Sometimes going apeshit is the best way to handle things.

2012!Mikey->Rise!Mikey: Make sure to look out for yourself every now and then. Remember that in order to take care of your family you need to take care of yourself.

Rise!Mikey->2012!Mikey: Just because your strength isn't visible, it doesn't mean it isn't there. Sometimes your strength comes in another form.

2012!Leo->Rise!Leo: Not everything comes down to one decision, it can be a multitude of things so make sure you're always ready.

Rise!Leo->2012!Leo: Leaders don't have to do everything alone, rely on your team and work through things together.
