Can you imagine being Osiris, insane because of your obsession with your brother and your need to possess him. So for literal hundreds of years you scheme and when you finally think you’ve got him he kills you. But that’s okay, you are patient and can still work this out. You sire a son with your wife and then your wife is going to kill your beloved, which is perfect because you’re the god of the underworld. But then that son of yours is also obsessed with your beloved. Understandable, your beloved is very attractive. But it’s also inconvenient. This son keeps getting in your way! Your beloved is ripped from your grasp and your son has a marriage set up for him which should solve that problem except this damn son IGNORES his responsibilities and keeps following your beloved around, twisting up your attempts to get a hold on your beloved. And then! Your Beloved Brother, whom you have loved for literally hundreds of years, STARTS TO RETURN YOUR SON’S AFFECTIONS AND ATTRACTION! He’s ignoring his to be wife and your beloved consents to have sex with him AND ENJOYS IT?!
Imagine being out rizzed by your own son. Imagine your lifelong crush falling for your son (who is of age). I would also go crazy

heres the trio im dubbing as "the eyes of ra"
bastet is based off the egyptian mau and hathor is based off the egyptian longhorn (though i didnt give her a fullbody animal form rip)
these three form quite the inseparable trio. so much so they even share the same husband (sometimes) (its mostly nefertem who they all love coddling because somehow sekhmet is the only one out of them to have a child)
#my art#ancient egypt misc#ancient egyptian mythology#also yes hathor is fat. who doesnt love a fat cow honestly#also im aware hathor is more commonly shown in her human form#her cow form is more reserved for the depictions of her welcoming the dead into the afterlife#im not sure if i want to draw humans in this style#i tried with shu but i will tinker more. perhaps

Broken & Betrothed
So, this is in response to a post I had made asking if ya'll would read a past life Ardeth Bay fic, well, it's finally here, part 1 of it. Hope ya'll enjoy it and so sorry for the wait. Summary: She is the sister of Nefertari and in love with her private guard but its forbidden and so they have to hide their relationship but her father, the pharaoh has betrothed her to another, so with a heavy heart she has to tell her lover that her father has betrothed her to someone else
Warnings: Angst, Heart break, Part 2 (THE HORROR!!!)
Part 2
The young Medjai strode across the alabaster stone floors. His footsteps were precise and silent. A pair of daggers attached to his hip glistened in the moonlight as he traced his way through the palace. Hidden by the shadows he moved swiftly, a destination in his mind as he entered her chamber.
She stood at her balcony, her hair shimmering in the dark as she gazed at the night sky.
‘The moon is a gift from Khonsu’, she told him once, ‘it guides travelers across Kek’s darkness.’ Silently he had motioned her to continue as he kissed her shoulder gently, ‘I wish I was a traveler; I wish I could see all the beautiful places I hear about. I want to see where the luxurious clothes I wear come from, I want to know how their strings are woven together, to see color bleed into their very strands. I want to know where the jewels I’m adorned with come from, where the spices on my tongue are grown, but most of all I want to see your hometown, the place where you grew up, the place you recall with such fondness in your eyes.’ That night he held her as she told him of her dreams, knowing that her duty, her royal blood bound her to her gilded cage.
Gazing at her his heart ached as she hummed a soft tune, it was a familiar tune, one he’d heard multiple times when the priestesses of Hathor worshipped her. Lost in her voice, he continued gazing at her, his limbs softly swaying with her voice, the jangle of his daggers accompanying her voice to form a symphony unheard of before.
Slowly the song dwindled into a comforting silence, the pair basking in it as if afraid to break this moment of comfort. “Will you simply stand there, Ardeth?” she finally asked, breaking the silence. “What would you command of me, Princess? I am but your servant.”
“Princess? You haven’t called me that in a long time.” She said sadly as she turned to look at him.
“I’m afraid it is time I start addressing you by your title, Princess. I have been remiss in my duties and have allowed myself to become too familiar with the one I was destined to serve.” He said formally, trying to distance himself, trying to hold himself back from comforting his lover.
“You’ve heard.” She stated simply, realizing why he was so distant that night.
“You are betrothed,” he stated monotonously as the very words he mumbled ripped his heart apart yet he held out hope that she’d reject his allegation, that she’d take him in her arms and strip away his doubts.
“Yes,” she shakily said as tears welled in her eyes. Stepping forward she reached out to him, silently begging for comfort. Despite his own bleeding heart, he enveloped her within his arms as she shook from the force of her sobs. He hugged her closer as though he wanted to merge her into himself, as though if he held her close enough, she wouldn’t be ripped apart from him, as though his arms could protect her from the hands of the Pharoah, from her father, from her fate.
Tears dripped down his face as the pair sank to the floor, clutching onto each other as if, if they’d let go for even a moment the strong currents of the Nile would part them. In that moment he cursed the gods, wondering why they’d let such pain befall an innocent such as her, wondering why they’d make him pay for his countless sins by putting her through so much pain. For many nights they had laid together, falling deeper into each other till their very souls melded into one, till even the blood within their veins was shared, their bodies and minds now one. They had prayed to Hathor, the goddess of love, to never separate them, yet the coy goddess refused their prayers. Rather, she made them love each other only to have it ripped apart before their very eyes.
Perhaps the most painful thing about this was that both of them were alive, for what was more torturous than seeing your beloved in the arms of another when all they crave is your arms around them?
“I-I don’t want t-to marry-y him, A-Ardeth,” she said, hiccupping. “I can’t.”
“It is your duty and your Pharaoh’s decree,” he said, hating the words coming from his mouth with a burning passion.
“You’d rather me marry someone else? Someone who’s not you?” She asked, feeling hurt at his complacency as she rose to her feet, anger and hurt radiating from her body. Staring at him through reddened eyes she cradled herself in an attempt to comfort herself.
Feeling her rip herself apart from him, the dam holding back his emotions burst as he desperately crawled towards her and wrapped his arms around her hips. Burying his face against her soft stomach he wept bitterly. He pulled her closer as she wrapped her arm around his head, slowly soothing him as she brushed her fingers through his onyx locks.
He looked up at her with red-rimmed eyes as desperation filled his gaze, “I’d rather you lived in the arms of another man than be buried alive within my embrace.”
“I’d rather enter the afterlife bound to you than separated from you.”
“Do you not see you are my very reason to breathe?” he asked desperately.
“Do you not see, without you, I cannot live? You are my reason to live. To survive. To fight,” she stated with conviction.
“I cannot and will not sacrifice your safety, My Princess. In this life or the after-life.” He stated, rising to his feet as his eyes tried to convey his emotions.
“So, you’d rather see me in the arms of another man? Some pompous King from a distant land?”
“I’d rather see you alive and unhappy than dead,” he stated with finality as he walked away from the love of his life. His chest felt void with every step he took away from her, refusing to look back for if he did, he knew his resolve would crumble and he’d try to run away with her, consequences be damned. Yet, deep down even he knew that she did not deserve a life of hardship and that was the only life he could promise her.
“Don’t you see? I’d rather spend my afterlife in your arms than be bound to a marriage I detest, in this life and the next.” She whispered to an empty room, her knees tucked under her chin as she wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to shield herself from the growing emptiness in her chest.

Weddings were an exciting affair. They were supposed to be a happy affair, commencing with a feast at the bride’s home before she departed with the wedding gifts to live with her husband as his wife. It was a period of excitement where families came together to celebrate, it was supposed to be a time of happiness yet she couldn’t seem to muster a spark of joy within her soul.
In public she played the role of the perfect princess, the beautiful blushing bride yet with every smile, with every chuckle, with every compliment she got she felt like crying, like ripping her jewels off and baring her soul for everyone to see. She desired to bare her heart to the world, to show everyone who’s name was truly carved into her heart, yet she could not. He left her, refused to fight for her, for them.
He had been avoiding her. He had traded shifts with another guard till one day she awoke to a new personal guard. On inquiring about the change, the new guard, Naten, told her that Ardeth had requested the change. Whenever she saw him lurking in the corridors he simply walked away, pretending she didn’t exist. Perhaps that’s what hurt more than being apart from him. His refusal to acknowledge her.
During the day she was a blushing bride, but at night she grieved the living lover she lost. Her mournful cries merged with the wails of widows along the streets of the city. Unheard and unseen she shed her tears till finally one day someone saw. It was her sister, Nefertiri, who found her nestled on her windowsill with her knees tucked against her chest. She gazed at the moon once again, but this time she sung a mournful tune. Trails of kohl long-dried on her face as she sniffled.
“Sister?”
“Nefertiri?” she asked, startled by her appearance.
“Why are you crying?”
“I’m not crying.”
“Don’t take me for a fool. Tell me. What has caused you so much pain?”
“Nothing, Nefertiri. Just leave it alone.”
“I cannot, you are my sister and it’s my duty to protect you,” she said, staring into her sister’s eyes with sincerity. She snorted at that word again, duty, the very thing that doomed her.
Looking into Nefertiri’s eyes, tears welled in her own as she cuddled into her sister’s nostalgic embrace, a reminiscent of when she used to comfort her when they were children. Her sister gently hushed her, slowly rocking her back and forth as she cried.
Hours passed by as the night slowly dwindled into day and Ra’s boat, Mandjet, came forth from the underworld. It was then she finally confessed, unburdening herself of the burden she carried. She poured her heart out to her sister about the lover she was tragically torn apart from.
Her sister could only look at her in sympathy, knowing that their father’s word was law and that she would not be able to help her. All she could do was offer her comfort. For the first time the powerful princess, Nefertiri, Lily of the Nile and wielder of the spear of Shapneh was helpless, she couldn’t do anything to interfere in her sister’s fate so she simply offered her comfort.
~
A new face had appeared in court, a beautiful woman by the name Anck-Su-Namun, the daughter of a noble at court. She was as graceful as she was deadly, trained in combat she was a skilled woman, impressing the court with her prowess. Quickly she caught the eye of the Pharaoh. Her alluring appearance and saccharine words appealed to the older widower. She consumed his thoughts till she became his most favored concubine. Soon, she was to be the Queen, bound to bear a male heir to the throne. Men lusted after her and Pharaoh’s harem envied her, yet all the wealth of Egypt was not enough for her, she desired more, something different, someone different.
Anck-Su-Namun was Princess Nefertiri’s combat instructor before she caught the Pharaoh’s eye so as a part of her wedding celebrations, a martial display between Anck-Su-Namun and Nefertiri was organized by the Pharaoh.
It was that very night that Pharaoh had been slain by his favorite lover and his trusted High Priest. The Medjai rushed to save him but they were too late. The Pharaoh bled out on the stone floors.
Nefertiri bore witness to the event, her eyes burning with rage at the death of her father. Leading the Medjai in pursuit of the priest who sought to perform a perversion against the very gods themselves, raising someone from the dead and ripping them away from the judgement of Anubis, she finally caught the priest, ordering the Homdai, the most terrifying of curses, a cursed death, a half-life, an eternity of torment.
The entirety of Egypt was in mourning, with the Pharaoh gone, who would lead them? In this moment of turmoil, Nefertiri rose to the challenge, becoming the Pharaoh herself. Like any new ruler she had to establish herself as capable, yet she did it with an unfaltering grace soon becoming beloved by her people.
Her first act as Pharaoh was breaking her sister’s betrothal. Her betrothed was not pleased and demanded compensation for the betrothal which was granted to the man in the form of a different bride, a far more willing cousin of the Pharoah who had yet to be wed.
With the betrothal ended she could breathe a sigh of relief, now she remained untethered, yet the man of her desires still refused to look at her.
Perhaps he was consumed with shame or guilt or even self-loathing. Perhaps his pride kept him from her. Perhaps he believed himself unworthy. Whatever the reason was, his avoidance was getting infuriating, so with a sense of new-found determination she decided to find him, or like her sister said, “Grab him by his ear and make him listen.”

Golden Eye of Horus
The Cost of Vengeance and the Gift of Restoration
Osiris went on to become the god of the Underworld and Isis raised Horus on her own. When Horus reached adulthood, he sought to avenge the death of his father. Horus fought Set in a series of battles, and eventually vanquished his uncle. During these struggles, however, he lost one of his eyes. According to one version of the myth, Set had ripped out Horus’ eye, tore it up into six parts and threw it away. In another version, it was Horus himself who gouged his eye out, as a sacrifice to bring his father back from the dead. In any case, Horus’ lost eye was magically restored by either by Hathor (often regarded to be the consort of Horus), or by Thoth, the god of wisdom.
As Horus’ eye was magically restored, the ancient Egyptians believed that it possessed healing properties. Amulets of this symbol have been made using a variety of materials, including gold, lapis lazuli, and carnelian, and have been used as jewelry by both the living and the dead.

"It's a little more complicated than that." (from Hathor)
↪ 𝑴𝑶𝑶𝑵 𝑲𝑵𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 . ( a collection of sentence starters originating from season one of marvel’s moon knight . )
"No! It's not complicated at all!" The falcon-headed deity snapped, playing the contrarian even though he knew she spoke the truth. Their foothold on humanity was ripped out from under them. They were turning to other religions, other gods, and the Ennead was fracturing over this betrayal. Even so, it had become clear that most members were choosing to pull away. Keep their remaining power to themselves in the Overvoid, and keep the practice of Avatars for observation only.
Ammit had rallied a cult and nearly staged a coup, for refusing to let humanity go. Others were caught up, either for aiding her or for fear they would do the same. Anubis. Thoth. Ushabtis now, all hidden away in the Great Pyramid's inner walls like souvenir trinkets.
'We may not always see eye to eye, dear Khonshu.' Ammit's claws had clacked over the Senet board as she removed a pawn. 'But together, we see more than old Osiris. Join me. Together we will do what they would never dare: Turn this world into paradise.'
... No, Khonshu didn't want paradise. He wanted his people. Ammit's forces weren't his people. And, as he finally had to accept, neither were the Ennead.
"I have crowned a new Avatar. A new champion for the coming years-- my Fist of Vengeance that I will turn against the guilty. Humanity's betrayal means nothing to my work!" he slowly turned, firelight glinting off his gold armor and the white bone of his skull. They had always hated it, his flashy lust for vengeance, and how he chose to carry it out, how he refused to do things quietly and prettily. They had never been his people. Not even her. "If I am to be told that it should, I will cede my position on the council. Where is it you stand now, Hathor? Will you vote to have me sealed in stone for doing my rightful duty? Or will this be the last I see of you, choosing to languish in opulence in the Overvoid with the rest?"
#[Set in the past! Around 200 AD or so idk#On the eve of when Khonshu was banished#I dunno if this makes any sense and it's SUPER headcanon based so. Feel free to ignore this if it doesn't jive with you#I figure most gods weren't Idiots and like. Would want to keep their positions on the Ennead council bc y'know. That's as leadership role#You can actually Change Things from within there#Khon is just out here throwing a tantrum and throwing that away bc he doesn't agree with what they're doing#But that's just how I imagine it going down and why no one really sided with Khonshu/probably feel p good about that call#Seeing how Khon looks way more weathered and terrible than any of em--#Woops that's a lot of tag rambling this got out of hand I'm not trying to lecture you on your character#answered asks#in character#about: ennead

"Searching, waiting for something to love again. 'Till then, I'll be wandering through the in-between"
Xerox, the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Splixson, from the planet Hathor
This is no ordinary Splixson. It's an unique one, to put it at that. His eyes are pure white, looking as if they were scribbled on his face. He remains sporting the whiskers that regular Splixsons have, as well as the 3 horns, alongside the lines going down from the eyes. While still chunky, short and adorable, he's a bit more slim, with legs far less stubby unlike the regular species. Xerox also has long, soft, straight black hair with a fringe to the right, in an emo fashion, with parts of the fringe and a few streaks dyed with an electric pink colour.
Similar to his species, he remains at a rather small stature, no taller than a human child, if not just a very tiny bit taller, but a difference so small you basically cannot tell the difference in height between him, a child, and another of his species. He sports a mostly dark outfit, with a dark grey hoodie, and jeans of a darker shade. His shoes have an interesting palette: a really desaturated, almost grey-ish purple colour, alongside darker cerice soles & toes. Underneath the clothing, there are several sensory orbs/nubs all over his body.
One interesting note about this specific transformation, is that unlike the rest of his brethren at his home planet of Hathor, he appears to have stitches all over him; his face, neck, limbs, etc. and he seems to be more like a living, breathing plushy, given that when he's seen duplicating himself, he rips out his limbs, and there's red dyed toy stuffing within his body, albeit still having organs and such. He sports skin of varying hues of green, as it almost looks like if he's had several skin grafts, which are also connected to the body with the stitches aforementioned. Another peculiar thing to notice about this particular form, is that he doesn't look as vicious or monstrous or aggressive as the rest, nor does he look "mutated" or malformed.
Abilities:
Enhanced Speed
Enhanced Durability
Sharp Teeth
Self Duplication
Conjoined Cloning
Enhanced Reflexes
Enhanced Acrobatics
Enhanced Agility
Underwater Breathing
Clone Dissipation
Regeneration
Weaknesses:
Small Size (Vulnerable to bigger enemies)
Electricity Vulnerability
Immobilised By Ice
Forced Combination
Panuncian Predation
Poor Cold Resistance
Recharge Mode Inhibition (Cannot turn back to human if all clones aren't dissipated or if they're too far away to come back and combine as one)

Amunet, priestess of Khonsu
I finally made my YuGiOh OC a character profile! 😭
Amunet was born thousands of years ago in Cyprus, an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea between the Egyptian kingdom and the Achaean (Greek) territories. Her mother was a refugee of the Trojan War and her father was a native Egyptian. She was originally raised by the Daughters of Artemis, a sect of women who worship the goddess Artemis, but was ripped away as a little girl due to conflicts between the Egyptians and the Hittites. Amunet found her way to the city of Waset (Thebes) where she was taken in by High Priest Iah, leader of the Temple of Khonsu, and was brought up to be a priestess to the moon god. Amunet was basically a living Kemetic saint, because of her abilities and her kind heart. It was her ability to cleanse spirits that she was best known for. It was said she could destroy as many as ten demons with one blow from her bow and arrow. She was so committed to her practice that one of the vows she took was a vow of chastity, swearing off intimate relationships in order to wholly devote herself to her work. Unfortunately, underneath her status and formidable reputation, Amunet was a lonely young girl who enjoyed the simple things. One fateful day, Amunet stumbled across an injured young man who barely survived a shadow duel. She took him to the temple to treat him, unaware at the time that he was the pharaoh of Egypt, Atem. As Amunet tended to the Pharaoh, the two clicked. It was not long before the two had fallen in love. But, because of their differences in status and Amunet’s obligations as the priestess of Khonsu, the relationship was kept secret. The two would meet in secret and when Amunet was summoned to the palace or Atem could visit the temple and they regularly wrote coded letters to each other that would be sent via Amunet’s falcon, Nut. Eventually, Atem gave Amunet a jeweled cow brooch, an heirloom symbolizing the goddess Hathor that the pharaohs would give to their queens as sort of an engagement ring. Amunet, happy and in love, accepted it. However, it would never be: Akhenaden, one of Pharaoh Atem’s priests (as well as his uncle), found out what was going on and was outraged, seeing Amunet as a threat and the relationship an abomination. For this, the high priest set brainwashed soldiers to capture and subject her to torture for "treason". When Atem learned what was going on, it was too late. Amunet succumbed to her injuries and died. She was mummified and buried beneath a statue of Khonsu outside of the Temple of Khonsu. Shortly afterwards, the Thief King attacked and Atem sealed himself in the Millenium Puzzle. Just as the spirit of the Pharaoh awakens thousands of years later, Amunet is reincarnated as Kaguya Shimizu, a school girl in Domino City.

Marathon: Eternal
By: Xeventh Project
Release Date: 2004 (Mark I), 8th February 2023 (1.3 Preview 5)
Based On: Aleph One
**SATUS TRADENDAE**
Marathon: Eternal is... well, one of The Big Ones. When you look for Marathon scenarios, this is likely one of the ones you'll find alongside Rubicon X, Apotheosis X and Phoenix. And with good reason, too, seeing as it is, for all intent and purpose, a full-fledged sequel to Marathon Infinity: an odyssey through time and space, although in Eternal's case, it is to stop an AI to wipe out humanity for its perceived misdeeds by the AI. But that is selling things quite short, so, let's beginning at the start, shall we?
find yourself
starting back
To start, we are given a name to our dear Security Officer: Marcus Jones, the newly arrived Mjolnir Battleroid to K'lia, the moon that the S'pht took as the system of Lh'owon was destroyed in a nova. Now, five centuries have passed—the Pfhor defeated but ready for revenge, the S'pht annihilated after they were forced to put down the maddened Sh'bhuth and his 'Kr, and humanity, using the left technology on their new moon, with only one hope left to save themselves: Marcus... and Hathor.
Who is Hathor?

Hathor, like Marcus, was a Battleroid—in fact, she was one of the 9 that were left on the Tau Ceti colony. After its destruction by the Pfhor, Hathor was left there as scrap, and only after K'lia folded orbiting Earth that the UESC discovered that all Battleroids contained Cybernetic Junctions: a piece of Jjaro technology that was installed on all Battleroids that allows one to travel through time and space. After recovering Hathor as the only still workable Battleroid, she was placed and installed as K'lia's new AI construct into its systems, without a body (this will be very much important later) due to it being damaged beyond repair.
Now, with Marcus and Hathor, the UESC plans to send both of them to the past and, in some way, attempt to give humanity a better future, right on the day where it all happened: the Pfhor invasion onto Tau Ceti and the Marathon on 2794. As they arrive, however, it soon becomes clear that much more is afoot, not just with Hathor—but across time and space...
To start, Eternal is a gorgeous scenario, not just in its new and wide selection of textures, but also in its weapons, enemies and skies—with returning enemies like Enforcers with M1's Alien Gun, the explosive Lookers and hulking Drinniols. Its weaponry is also a major shake-up, with both fusion-based pistols and rifle as your starting weapon, the Pfhor Fighter's staff, the Soldier's rifle/grenade launcher and your more standard weapons; the Napalm Cannon and the Alien Gun, whose secondary shooting mode has become Eternal's shotgun. (RIP WSTE-M5).
Levels are also quite an eyesight: from your standard Earth and Pfhor ships, to far away alien planets, stations, waste centres and natural caverns, each one is given the same love and care in details, texture use, ambient sounds and lightning. Stands out for me are Babylon X, Waiting For Black Metal Records To Come In The Mail, We Met Once In A Garden, and all the failure levels... oh, right. Best to talk about that little feature. Each chapter of Eternal features two paths: one will lead you to the rest of the chapter, while the other will show you what happens if things are not done correctly. In Chapter 1, if you follow Hathor with her plan, you are cut off from her by Durandal, led by him through the Marathon, picking his primal pattern and eventually being used as his vessel to escape the end of the universe.
Once each failure branch is done, you are taken to a human station orbiting around Sol, given a snapshot of your mistake. In Chapter 1's case, it is Durandal leaving before he frees the S'pht, leaving humanity with very little chance to fight. A terminal nearby indicates that the Pfhor have deployed the trih xeem before leaving the system, and even before that, each battle took a major cost on humanity, with thousands being taken as slaves. These failure levels also feature the appearance of Infinity's Durandal-Thoth, aged and wise, giving Marcus a second chance to return and set things right.
Quite honestly, I feel like I could talk about the plot of Eternal for hours and hours—with how many themes it deals with, how characters like Hathor or even Marcus are developed, and the unique new concepts that are introduced for Eternal's story, like the Junctions, a closer look into how time travel can be entirely misused and lead to entire cluster-fucks piling up, and finally, love.
At the end of the day, I really feel this is one mod everyone should go in without knowing much beyond that it follows on from Infinity's ending. It should come with the caveat that the very first level is likely to take the most time for a player to read; this was done due to players ignoring the README.txt that came with the mod in older versions, so Xeventh Project added the first level's terminals to catch up on people.
That's likely one negative that some people may have: Eternal is a game heavy with text and reading, and while it seems odd to say this is in a series that's all about reading terminals and piecing together the plot, I could understand if for some, so much reading could get tiring. However, if possible, I recommend you push through the first few levels, and hopefully you'll be as hooked as I was when I played it!
And one last message, which is very important for any Marathon fan:
There's currently a new fork of Aleph One, Aleph Bet, being worked on by a handful of developers outside of the Aleph One Team, including a previous AO dev and one of the co-directors, writers and level designers for Eternal, Aaron. This link should lead you directly to the Github for fork; I recommend people to keep an eye on it, and support the project in whatever way you can, from help with coding to simply spreading the word.
See
you

My fic Kid!Khonshu absolutely hates Zeus with an extreme passion. Given a chance, he would gladly rip the storm God's heart. If the Ennead hadn't stop him from causing a diplomatic disaster.
Zeus, inturn hates Khonshu for stoping him from deceiving girls at night. Which continues even after Khonshu's banishment. If it was consentual then Khonshu would leave it alone.
Artemis also hates Khonshu for interfering with her hunt session. By hunt, I mean she would sometimes hunt lost travelling men in the woods, especially if they accidentally flirted with a disguised nymph, or saw her naked. Khonshu inturn, hunted Artemis down and threatened to eat her heart if she harms any lost traveler or turn then to an animal.
Zeus's has a habit of raping and having unconsentual sex with girls. His reputation is so bad, Sekhmet, Tawaret and other protection goddess were extra vigilant the day when Zeus and co went to visit Egypt. One day, he started trying to flirt with Hathor, only to be met with Sekhmet who threatened to rip his guts out.
He then went to the locals, but was warned many times or they will do drastic measures to protect their people.
Of course, Zeus didn't listen and tried to sneak around at night, only to be face by a really pissed of Khonshu and sometimes other gods like Sobek and Horus.
And Khonshu reputation as a Cannibal god who devoured other gods proved to be very effective in keeping Zeus out of the streets, and it might be the few times everyone actually find it to be a good thing.
Khonshu also have other reasons to hate Zeus, like the Werewolf curse.
Zeus was the one who started the Werewolf concept in Greek Mythology, specifically by cursing King Lycaon to be a wolf, starting the modern Werewolf curse.
The werewolves went so out of control that Khonshu had to interfere and do damage control for Zeus's mess since the feral werewolves are a danger to night travelers.

i have been ( slowly ) trying to wrap my head around basic e.gyptian mythology just so that way when cleo references things, i'm hopefully at least partially right. so here's some notes i've made for myself. disclaimer: don't use my notes here as solid references, these are just some quick jots and thoughts.
the eye tattoo thing she has ( or amulet, as she's seen with a necklace of it in the first movie, as well ) is known as the eye of ra. it's a symbol of power and protection. ironically it was used by pharaohs to protect them against betrayal... which happens to cleo and her family...
ra is the ultimate god. the sun god. and with whom pharaohs often associate themselves with. the name ramses - cleo's dad - even means "son of ra" or "son of sun."
ra was also betrayed/usurped. seems to be parallels created between cleo's family and the gods. though ra's betrayal was from his great-grandchildren ( osiris, nep, seth, and isis ).
osiris becomes god of the underworld after his brother seth then betrays him, and anubis is the one who ferries souls and oversees the weighing of them to determine their fate. he is also the god of mummification, and most likely why he's associated as the servants to cleo's family in the original show.
other little name notes:
bastet ( one of cleo's scarabs ) is the goddess of protection.
isis ( hc of one of cleo's other scarabs ) isn't a specific goddess, just a goddess from what i've found so far but was osiris' wife ( ....and sister rip ) and was able to basically resurrect osiris with anubis' help. she's basically just super powerful.
hathor ( hc of one of cleo's other scarabs ) is the goddess of love.
neferiti ( whose name i bet nefera is based off of ) was a pharaoh's wife. seems to have been beautiful, pretty powerful when ruling with her husband, and wealth loving? then some people believe she even ruled as pharaoh for a time, which could have inspired the power-seeking version that is nefera.
cleopatra fun facts.
...one of her titles was "father-loving goddess." wonder if inspired cleo's need to please her father.
she was actually greek. and died by snake bite. staring at deuce.
her refusal to do things the way those demanded of her is then also interesting tidbit to cleo's character growth to learning to stand against her father and sister's desires and expectations of her.

it was Halloween time, your hathor(egyptian cow goddess) costume perfectly fitting you, for now. i dress up as a mummy. we get into the car with a game plan we go around looking for houses that give out candy, some refuse to give them to adults, but you are hot enough they ignore it.. other houses we just steal the candy lol by the end of the night we have collected buckets worth of candy, we return home with the candy and start to feed it to you. it almost takes over an hour to finish it all
by the end of it, you gain enough that your hathor dress starts to rip open. i kiss your belly where the dress ripped and sleep hugging you, my head on the perfect pillow that is your chest. we end up sleeping into the next day's noon
i actually got soooo much candy tonight it’s crazy 😫. it’d take more than an hour to finish it tbh 😳.
this is really cute, wished i could’ve dressed as a cow/milk maid </3

more semi-related yapping because my wrist has been hurting from arting too much lately (i hadnt properly drawn this much in several months and im attempting to render a piece related to said comic and unfortunately i cannot sit down and do it all in one sitting anymore because i am old now and also doing it on an ipad) (also i love talking)
was brewing up some headcanons the other day and one of them was making osiris the only straight person lmfaoooo since im on the hte x seth grindset why not talk about hte this time around?
i think hes pretty easy: hes gay ❤️ yeah thats it. thats the post. thanks for reading
—
now in terms of the actual mythos, we all know horus in any iteration has always been associated with seth, whether that be as a parallel to the throne (elder) or as someone to defeat for the throne (younger), and so it makes sense for both iterations to primarily be attracted to seth. obviously both have a lot of wives (younger has like 12 scorpion ones lmfaoo) but like lets be real. who gaf. nobody cares. theyve always been associated with seth, hence why im making them both gay (though this post is talking about hte so ill drop hty for now).
i think in my version of the mythos, there will be very little gods who same-sex attraction. mostly because in actual egyptian mythos a male-female pair is basically the order of the universe (eg. the ogdoad, most ennead pairings) (im also explaining this poorly so feel free to rag on me), and so most gods (actually. all gods) will be paired with a female counterpart or have a wife of some kind. if there are any gods who experience some sort of same-sex attraction (such as bastet, who ive headcanoned as a lesbian), then they usually figure that out way later in life when theyve mingled with a lot of the opposite gender.
where horus comes in is that he pops out of the womb and he knows. he just knows. he looks to his side and he sees seth and thats all he needs to know. without land there cannot be sky; without barren desert there cannot be any possibility of fertile fields. loving seth is as easy is breathing for him. while trying to type this up i was thinking if there was a possibility for horus to be a general homosexual (i.e, just finding men attractive) but im going to retcon that before i even make it a thing. horus is seth-sexual—he will only be attracted to seth, to all of seth, and to the idea of seth. he is fiercely loyal (fitting for how he was made to be king), so having him be attracted to virtually anyone else seems wrong. also makes for great angst ^_^
theres a lot i can say about them but then this post would be like 20,000 words. in short, they are soulmates. you cant really separate the two. when hty becomes a thing and people begin to see seth as an enemy rather than a compliment, you lose the plot. sure, enemies to lovers is a wonderful thing, but egypt is all about balance, of ma'at. hty/seth is an imbalance to seth because it puts all of the attention on hty as some up-and-coming superstar. hte/seth puts them both on equal footing. i hope that makes sense. seth is an integral part of the throne—while peacekeeping is important, conquest and expansion are crucial in order to not get trambled. both are war gods, but seth has more of an emphasis on those sorts of things.
so when hte lets go of seth by giving osiris the rights to the throne, egypt loses that stability in a way by creating a problem in making seth feel betrayed. (he didnt love horus because he wanted to be next in line, but as his "spouse" youd think hed pass it onto seth). horus also loses that stability as well—its like ripping out your heart and tearing it in two. its not the same and it never will be—for either of them.

little tidbit i wanted to slot in because i originally typed all this shit out because i wanted to write this 🤦 i love having adhd guys:
hathor is usually paired with ra, but shes also usually paired with horus too. since ive elected to make ra single father, naturally her attention falls to the next in line. horus hasnt really told anyone/isnt out to most others because the other gods can just sense. its his vibe. but hathor musters the courage anyways.
she gets rejected pretty swiftly. this was hathors first rejection—nobody dares reject the goddess of love! instead of becoming angry like sekhmet wouldve, she asks why horus turned her down. it only takes him to peer over her shoulder to realize why (seth had been behind them, minding his own business, and horus had to say hi).
shes so giddy that this usually stuck-up (yes, horus is only a softie for seth) leader likes someone else that shes like "whatever! if that what it takes to make you not be a jerk all of the time, then go for it!" and has had zero issues since. in fact, she supports them whole-heartedly. (fujoshi)
#text#stream of consciousness type of beat#pretty sure im just reiterating what ive said/what has been implied before but WHATEVER!#writing stuff down is fun#ancient egypt misc#ancient egyptian mythology#AHHHHHHHHHHHH(explodes)#sorry if there are any typos/weird english i did not proofread this at all#my writing

@darknesskng from X
"Yes i know." Her voice was soft and clear. Not flinching away even when his harsh touch grabbed at her chin. Etes loxk onto his own recalling their other meetings is only brief and faintly. She wants to stay close even if that closeness would be ripped away at any moment by any harsh fate.
Hathor reaches her hand up to his cheek a brief brush along his tanned jaw, she had seen him at his worst as a child so innocent and yet brave to come this far. "That's good, you know i'm always ready to be here for you. I just want... you safe."
