Btw I completely understand why when I asked what guilty gear game I should start with I received so many different answers to that question- like. There's no one answer fits all to this one I'm afraid!
#I asked that almost a year ago now! can you believe that!!#anyway- imo it definitely comes down to what you're interested in GG for#if you're an insane person (such as myself) and want to play GG for the story the best way to experience that is start from the start#if you're not interested in the story and more in it for gameplay just. pick up whatever one stands out to you as being the most fun#they're boring answers but I stand by them!#anyway my only advice is DO NOT pick up a pirated copy of Accent Core on the PSP as your very first fighting game ever#I was really close to doing that- I was like seconds away from it before a chorus of gg fans went#and slapped it right out of my hands#real of them I can definitely understand why they thought starting with GGXXAC would scare someone off#not me though! i'm a masochist!#yappin'

my top FOB basslines ranking goes like Sunshine Riptide > I'm Like A Lawyer = 27 > So Good Right Now > 16 Candles = Tiffany Blews > Hum Hallelujah but also that's just off the top of my head and based halfway on technical aspects and halfway on emotional attachment so it may be subject to change 🤷♀️
#sunshine riptide fr feels like the bass is singing to me. lawyer has the slide thing and 27 it was just the first thing#that stood out to me about that song#so good right now is really satisfying strumming you can feel in your chest and 16 candles has a super fun structure and pattern#tiffany blews has that bit in the chorus that's super melodic and then hum has this repeated pattern that's just super distinct#idk. active listening for the win though#I almost put sugar in this list even though it's SUPER basic as a choice and the bassline isn't anything special or even#particularly noticeable but EYE think it sounds really nice and I love listening to it and I want to learn to play it ASAP#she speaks!#fob

ok but. with meoto aizo’s ✨demon reveal✨ one of his lines in the first verse kinda makes sense now?
i did think that it was kinda weird that he said 「同情もない」 before he and meoto yujiro got married. which y’know, kinda funny choice considering the other time he used 同情 was when he gave mona that umbrella out of pity that day in the rain
but with the reveal, i guess local demon aizo just couldn’t find it in himself to muster up some pity for the poor human sacrifice who was to be wedded to him
and he chose to fall in love with her instead, i guess, so who’s the real winner here?
