Vincent Price has a great scene at the beginning of the episode when he meets Bill Bixby and determines that, numerologically, he's a Four - the number for dull, bland, colorless, nebbishy losers.
Night Gallery- Vincent Price and Bill Bixby!

merlin being forced to confront the fact that he’s failing his people bc he’s sitting idly by while uther slaughters them all and coming to the decision that he has to act to save them but that’ll make him camelot enemy no. 1 but technically he already was they just didn’t know it. merlin spending a week all morose but unwilling to talk about it and spending as much time with his friends as possible. on his last night in camelot, he goes to arthur’s chambers and the prince is confused on why he’s there. merlin drops a sealed letter on his desk before pulling arthur into a gentle and emotional kiss. they barely separate, their lips hardly a breath apart, and merlin asks for forgiveness. arthur, thinking he’s apologizing for the kiss, tells him there’s nothing to forgive and goes in for a second kiss but merlin pulls away, knowing that that one brief kiss was all he could handle. if he lets arthur kiss him the way he’s dreamt of being kissed, he won’t be able to do what he needs to do, he won’t be able to leave. merlin tells him good night and leaves before arthur can react. he’s gone by dawn.
#arthur spends a long time storming thru the castle searching for him before returning to his chambers and reading the letter#the letter which outlines that merlin was resigning from his service and leaving camelot#arthur is enraged#merlin is still gone#gaius either wont tell him where merlin is or truly doesnt know#arthur mopes for weeeeeeeeks#then reports start sprouting up of a mysterious person traveling around the land and protecting druids from raids#and intervening when villages/towns attempt to execute sorcerers#uther sends arthur out to find this person and bring them to justice and arthur frankly couldnt care less about them#but it gives him the opportunity to go out and search for merlin so he jumps at the opportunity#he and his men eventually track more and more recent sightings of the cloaked figure to a town on the border of camelot and mercia#they chase the figure thru the streets until arthur corners them and flatly recites their charges of crimes against camelot#and orders them to return to camelot to be tried#the figure hesitates then sighs and turns around#arthurs sword droops to point at the ground as he takes in merlins slightly guilty face#‘i can’t do that arthur’#arthur is hurt from merlin sudden absence that he didnt even have the decency to warn him about#but now hes double hurt bc the reports of the mysterious person included them weilding magic#so now he also knows that merlins been lying about that as well and his hurt quickly turns to anger bc thats all he knows#he raises his sword despite knowing that he wont be able to bring it down on him. merlin smiles sympathetically as if he also knows.#merlin gets away and arthur returns to camelot only to be sent out again and again to kill merlin#friends to enemies to lovers#yippeeeee#bbc merlin#merlin emrys#arthur pendragon#merthur#fanfiction#fanfic#fic idea

HERE'S A THOUGHT~!
Tumblr media
In the MCU, the Time Stone was found by the sorcerer Agamotto thousands of years ago.
"The Ancient One is the latest in a long line of Sorcerer Supreme, going back thousands of years to the father of the Mystic Arts, the mighty Agamotto. The same sorcerer who created the Eye you so recklessly borrowed."
—Wong
So this dude, someone who was according to official papers was "a being" who was not human. And from the looks of it found the stone on earth.
Now here is my thought about this, what if this guy found the Time Stone in the Crystal Cave all those years ago. It would make sense for the crystals in the cave to have been affected by the time stone and have the properties of possible futures.
The Birth Place of Magic.
Agamotto might have taken the time stone but some of it's powers still remained there in the cave. Druids and other magic folk revere and fear the cave, cause if not careful one could go mad with all the possible outcomes of the future.
Merlin, long after Camelot, ends up back in the Crystal Cave and witnessing all the possibilities of the future. He learns much but also goes slightly mad for a time.
Then at some point he travels and finds Kamar-Taj. There he can feel the Time Stone but much more powerful then the cave. It calls to him, recognising Merlin as a worthy wielder or fellow kin.
Now I'm completely for the concept of Merlin being Magic itself and if Magic came to be in that cave, Merlin is a part of the time stone as we saw in the first episode of Merlin where he basically stopped time saving Gaius and slowing it down saving Arthur.
If the Infinity Stones were created by the Big Bang from 6 singularities, what if there was a 7th one.
Magic.
Diverse and capable of all 6 aspects of existance.
Making Merlin one of the very few to be capable of touching the stone itself, along with the other five.
What do you think?

‼️ JJK ANIME SHIBUYA ARC SPOILERS ‼️
Oh nothing just thinking about how Nobara could’ve just waited for adulthood and gone to college in Tokyo and meet Saori that way plus she could’ve gone away with her friend from her home town and that there was literally no reason why she needed to be a jujutsu sorcerer and she’d still be alive

STOP STOP EVERYRHING
i do not know if this has been said but i am going to say it bc fuck it almost knocked me off my feet when i thought of it
merlin waiting patiently for arthur for YEARS. mourning him for longer than he knew him. watching everyone he knew in camelot die and himself not age a day. watching the stone of the castle begin to crack, the wood begin to rot, the streets begin to empty. camelot has fallen. he ventures out but not far in case arthur returns. he experiences decades pass by him in a flash, still nothing. humanity advances and advances, yet they are also their undoing. they build themselves up just to tear themselves down a moment later. years and years and years and years and years pass, still nothing. the great dragons words echo in his head and he holds them close in hope, arthur will rise again. a day in spring, merlin catches a whiff of something he can’t place but he’s hit with a wave of nostalgia. it’s not until he’s lying in bed later that day that he remembers it’s what arthur used to smell like. not long after that, he tries to recall arthur’s laugh, but the memory is mute. and fuzzy. why is it fuzzy? stop focusing on the laugh and focus on his face…what did he look like again? oh god. no focus on something small. his eye color. what color were his eyes? blue…right? or were they green?
merlin forgetting the pieces of the puzzle that make up arthur, he can’t remember what he smelled like, what he looked like, what his laugh sounded like, he can’t even recall the way he screamed his name everyday when he needed something. merlin’s loosing arthur again. how long has it been? too long, too long and arthur still isn’t back. the dragon said he’d be back. he remembers that. he’s been repeating the words in his head since they were spoken to him long ago. every morning when he woke, every night before he slept, whenever the world around him seemed out to get him. he’s coming back. arthur’s coming back. why isn’t he back? what had that damn dragon said? he always talked in riddles but merlin had thought his words were clear for the first time since he’d known him. what had he said?
when albion’s need is greatest, arthur will rise again.
he’ll rise again. arthur will be back. and they’ll fight a great evil like they used to, side by side, two sides of the same coin, arthur and merlin together at last. he just has to wait for such a great evil. a great evil that would constitute arthur’s return. merlin’s lived many, many years. he’s seen much evil. arthur never returned then. something bigger and badder then. something worse that anything he could imagine…would it be immoral to instigate the evil to come to pass? (merlin’s tries to recall arthur’s secret smile when merlin made a face at him across the room or whispered something in his ear when visiting noble and royals were acting like fools and comes up empty.) to hell with morals. to hell with the damn dragon. to hell with it all. merlin’s been alive for centuries. arthur’s been asleep for centuries. they’ve been waiting for each other for centuries. merlin’s sick of it. to hell with it all. arthur needs a great evil? he’ll give him a great evil.

writing villians is. hard. especially when they completely out shine the villain you've been building up to for an entire campaign and become your new favorite guy For context, I ran a campaign, name irrelevant, with technically 4 major villains. There was the BBEG, Mortiferum, a lich who threatened to return and cast the Infinite Undeath, a spell that'd basically cause all the dead ever to rise again and start killing people. And then there was the Mortiferum Trio. 3 lil goobers hired by Mortiferum to stop the party. They were comedy relief characters, mostly. They consisted of Sullivan, a artificer who was normally incompetent but he had magical hair which made him intelligent in short bursts. He died like 5 sessions after he first appeared beacause the party made him slap his face into gravel so hard he died (he was hit in the back of the head with an eldritch blast tbf) There was Shiro, who was a bronze Dragonborn Samurai. He had a quirk of never actually speaking, only signing to communicate. He was very honor-bound, and never directly snuck up on the party, choosing to always face them head on. His honor-bound nature and his respect for the party actually lead to him becoming a DMPC, and being the only character to survive after the end of the campaign. Then there was Sourcen S Sorcerer (real name Eric but he doesn't like to be called that). Sourcen, as the name suggests. Is a Sorcerer. And he became the most compelling, interesting villain I think that campaign had. Sourcen was a fellow who. Quite enjoyed his line of work. He never cared about money or fame when it came to what he did (and he did get fame because he would fucking obliterate common thugs with 4th level Scorching Rays on occasion and other shenagins of the sort), and only did it because he enjoyed it. I wrote him using one of my favorite tropes in mind which I like to call "Funny guys who are actually NOT fucking around". That was to say he was silly most of the time, but actually had greater ambitions and evil plans, and the skill to back it up. However, you know who didnt have that. You know who didnt get the chance to shine with great moments such as going "I bore of the ground" before casting flight? You know who didn't get to have witty banter with the party about how what he does is only just for fun? You know whos character DIDNT get explored AT ALL because I was too focused on the character who the party were far more enthralled in? The literal evil giga-powerful Lich who was planning to cause the fucking Zombie Apocalypse. As such, I began to write Sourcen into the ending of the entire campaign. I'll spare the details, but while I could have done better, it made for a decent ending fight... which undermined the villain I had built the entire campaign around. Moral of the story: if you determine your gonna make a villan already established in a campaign as a real, tangible threat for the party to take down... make sure they arent in fucking hiding and never come out to do villainous things. Beacacuse then you'll end up with a Sourcen. And while he's good. And great. And I love him dearly. Dear GOD can he outshine the rest of the villans in the campaign.
