I went to school with six sets of identical twins, plus three sets of fraternal and also fraternal triplets, in a school of approximately 660 people. I'm very curious how common it is. Please reblog to spread!

Magic Medic (Part 3 of 3) - 79's
Tumblr media
Words: 4.7k (Long one yay) Note: Includes both Reader and the OC Iseult. Pronouns: She/Her.
"Ah! Finally," spoke Iseult, stepping from the Marauder before stretching her arms above her head and taking a greedy gulp of the Coruscant air. A grin soon painted upon her lips to see Tech still tapping away at his datapad, his brows sown together as he concentrated on finding the answer to the mystery the boys of the Wolf Pack had brought to his attention.
"Are you really not going to clue us in?" Hunter asked, attempting to be serious. However, the grin that appeared across his lips suggested he was anything but annoyed.
"You'll find out later tonight," simply replied Iseult, a chuckle escaping her to see Fox heading their way. Undoubtedly, he would either greet them, get the docking work done or warn her not to try anything outside her usual mischief.
"Which one are you?" asked Fox, removing his helmet shortly after his words reached their intended target. Once again, revealing the mess of curls hidden beneath the bucket, along with his seemingly ceaseless exhaustion. "The angel or the minx?" asked the Marshall Commander, unintentionally giving a clue to the mystery that seemed to have captivated so many brothers.
"The minx," chuckled Iseult.
"Oh Boy," signed Fox, as if expecting the worst. "No explosions this time," he added before shaking his head as if to rid himself of the chaos from her previous shore time. "Wolf Pack will be happy to see you; they touched down an hour ago," recalled Fox, recalling how happy the collection of clones was, even when Wolffe had practically chased Warthog from the cruiser.
"Explosions?" questioned Crosshair, beating Wrecker to the punch.
"Firework popper went off by accident when I was on a speeder, caused a bit of a mess on the traffic lanes," honestly replied Iseult, recalling the incident had led to Fox and the Coruscant Guard figuring out the secret. On the other hand, the Jedi still seemed perplexed by all of it. Anakin and Obi-Wan had retrieved herself and (Y/N) on separate occasions. "Are the 501st back yet?"
"Be back within the hour," replied Fox before scanning the Marauder in and sending the group on their way. Once again, he shook his head, although a grin came to his lips this time. He may call Iseult the minx, but that didn't stop him from considering her a friend, even a chaotic one.
"So there's an angel version of you?" questioned Hunter, as if curiosity had finally gotten better.
"And a nerdy one, too, if you listen to Cody," replied Iseult. "Be back in a sec," she added before running back toward the landing bay, if only to jump Fox with the hug she always gave him.
"I have looked into the theories shared by Comet and Jesse," began Tech, looking up to see Iseult walking back toward them, her smile growing. "The confusion is most likely due to a mix-up in the orders."
"Nope, no mix-up," replied Iseult. "I'm to be with the Wolf Pack again, and the Angel is staying with the 501st," she added, hearing Wrecker breathe out a huh in response to her words. "Y'all should look a little closer at the orders," giggled Iseult as she continued to walk. She knew eventually someone else would find her. Gregor, Cody, Wolffe, Howzer, if he was daring enough. "Hope to see you boys at 79's tonight."
"What if we're not?" questioned Wrecker.
"She'll haunt you to the end of time," responded Gregor, "You boys survived being paired with our little devil."
"Come now, you make me sound worse than I am," voiced Iseult, crossing his arms over her chest to fake her offense to the commando's words. In response, Gregor only chuckled at her and patted her gently on the head as if she were a wild loth cat.
"What else has Shortfire got up to?" asked Crosshair, the only one of the four enhanced clones brave enough to ask the question. Even when it was clear Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker had identical thoughts.
"Which one?" responded Gregor, his eyes lighting up as he waved Iseult off. There was little doubt she was returning to the little apartment the GAR had assigned her and a roommate. Although small, it at least offered a rebrief from the battlefield and a place to relax for a little while—a little place of her own.
*~* Late That Night *~*
Things were picking up at 79's. The music was loud but not overpowering, and the neon lights were bright, particularly on and around the dance floor. The drinks flowed, and everyone there seemed to be having a good time—random civvies mixed with clones and other GAR personnel. The boys of Clone Force 99 entered, immediately making their way over to the usual booth. Tech observed the area, looking for Iseult in the sea of bodies.
"Found her," he simply said, pointing over to the bar where the 501st were.
"Then who's that?" asked Wrecker, pointing to the table not too far from their booth.
"Huh, guess the regs were right," exclaimed Hunter, looking between the two. Noticing the pair were identical in every way, right down to the jewelry and minimal makeup worn. It was as if someone had copied and pasted the civvi medic.
"I have a new theory," commented Tech, looking up from his datapad in time to see the one previous at the table waking over, a smile on her lips. The other person at the bar didn't move, and nobody questioned why there was more than one. It was as if the regs letting loose hadn't noticed the mysterious magic medic had a double.
"I love theories," said the Medic in a bubbly, upbeat tone, a broad, toothy smile on her lips. Her eyes shimmered every time the neon lights shone over her.
"I took your advice and looked closer at the orders. The version of you, known as the Angel, has a different identification number. CM-1911," added Tech, looking up once more. Only this time, realization seemed to have hit him. "Simply put, not clones, identical twins," he explained.
"Iseult was right; you are quick," spoke (Y/N), her smile growing as she revealed she was the angel rather than the minx they'd spent the rotation with. "She also said Hunter and Crosshair would notice I wasn't her, sharp sight and senses," added the civvi medic.
"Wait, you're the angel?" asked Wrecker, receiving a nod in response. Her smile remained in place, maybe a little bigger than before.
"Most of the 501st and Wolf Pack are currently unaware we swapped again," she laughed in response. "Rex knows, but the rest are in the dark, except Commander Growls," added (Y/N) with a hint of mischief. Everything was going to plan so far. Iseult had thrust far fooled the boys of the 501st, Rex playing his part and acting as if nothing was out of the ordinary, even if his golden eyes lit up a little more than usual.
"What do you need from us?" asked Hunter, squinting to determine if the woman before him was the angel twin or the one they had considered a member of their little family. His actions only received a sweet giggle from (Y/N).
"Act like nothing is out of the ordinary," replied (Y/N). "If you want to join in with the little game, you're free too," she added, noticing Cody heading their way. "Now, if you excuse me, I got to put my smart persona on," chuckled (Y/N), revealing the nerdy one previously mentioned was, in fact, the angel in disguise. Crosshair merely chuckled, catching on to the havoc the pair of twins seemed to have caused.
"Clever," he worded, turning to the bar to see Iseult seemingly winding up Howzer. "Remind me to congratulate both of them when this is over."
"Tech, you're recording this, right?" asked Wrecker, receiving an affirmative response.
"Let the games begin," commented Hunter, taking a seat in the squad's usual booth. From their position, they'd be able to see all the chaos as it unfolded. If they were lucky, they'd see when the pair switched back and forth.
At the bar, Iseult seemed more than happy to play a game of silly sods with Howzer, the captain silently pleading with Rex or a member of the 501st to save him, or any of his brothers for that matter.
"How are you in two places at once?" asked Howzer, looking at the booths lining the walls. There, another Iseult was with Cody, a bright smile on her lips as she nodded and laughed. Her eyes sparkled, too. The one with the Bad Batch had seemingly disappeared now. However, Howzer didn't overthink it.
"What do you mean?" asked Iseult. A smile on her lips and a small chuckle escaped her as Howzer turned her and pointed at (Y/N) with Cody. "All I see is Cody talking to himself," she added before turning back to face Howzer again.
"Uh-huh," breathed Howzer, briefly turning his attention to Iseult before returning it to Cody. Only this time, the Iseult double was gone. The Marshal Commander didn't seem to notice either. Instead, walking to join the boys of the 212th in the booth they'd gathered in. "Where she go?" he questioned, seeing Iseult apparent confusion.
"Where'd who go?" quizzed Fox, still appearing exhausted but not as beaten down as he had been earlier in the day. There is no duty on his shoulders now and no demand to wear his helmet or deal with the general public.
"The Iseult double, she was just there talking to Cody," exclaimed Howzer, turning to Fox while keeping a gentle grip on Iseult as if to ensure she, too, wouldn't just disappear like the other had.
"No one was talking with Cody," convincingly replied Fox. "He was comically talking to himself. Likely a side effect from the head injury and alcohol," added the marshall commander, watching as Howzer quickly turned back, just in time for the buzzed commander of the 212th to fall from the booth. "What song were you singing earlier?" asked Fox when a confused Howzer let Iseult go.
"You're with me. I'm with you. Always one born as two," replied Iseult. "My uncle used to say it when I was little," she explained, chuckling again, even more so when it would all make sense when the night was over, especially to those currently in the dark about the magic trick.
"Go to Rex," whispered Fox. For once, helping with the pandemonium by being Iseult's keeper, Thorn was in a similar role for (Y/N). Both ensured the other knew what was happening and where to go. "He needs a little help with Jesse."
With his whispered words, Iseult disappeared once more. Preparing herself to act like her gentler twin, as she was sure (Y/N) was doing, as she headed for Wolffe and the 104th. The twin sisters were careful not to be seen in the same area simultaneously. However, they'd have fun with that later one. Comet, Gregor, and Kix being the primary targets, and the Domino Twins at night's end.
"Did you take a detour or something? " said Warthog, his eyes glimmering when the medic he assumed was Iseult returned. Without a second thought, he reached to pull her into the booth, practically pulling her onto Wolffe's lap with a satisfied grin.
"What I really needed was to use the refresher," commented (Y/N), with a playful tone to her voice as she slipped into the role of her identical twin. Her act was convincing enough for now; the observant Commander hadn't noticed anything, instead wrapping his arms around her waist and huffing out a chuckle. "and a detour to winding up Howzer."
"Couldn't resist, aye," called Comet from the back of the booth, splashing his drink across the table when he put it down. There was little doubt he was buzzed.
"And you spoke to Cody," called Sinker, bearing witness to the confusion over (Y/N)'s features. Almost as if she didn't know what he was talking about.
"I told Howzer I didn't see anyone with Cody when he pointed it out," replied (Y/N), thankful for Thorn and Fox's help in the game. "Perhaps I'm going blind," she added with a small smile.
"Wolffe," called Boost, pulling his commander back to the conversation and mystery that seemed to unfold before their eyes. Wolffe quickly turned his attention to his brother after finally tearing his line of sight from Cody bumbling around with the 212th. "How many versions of Iseult have you seen tonight?" asked the trooper, confirming that Wolffe had suspected something was off and kept an eye on what was happening. However, he'd yet to find an explanation for it.
"I count seven so far," called Wolffe, placing his head on (Y/N)'s shoulder, at least displaying he was none the wiser about what was happening. Either that or he was a better actor than either sister realized. "Frat boys were speaking to one, Cody's imaginary one, Howzer's tormentor - that we now know is ours, Gregor's flirt, Thorn's chatterbox, and the 501st Angel."
"Think I seen one winding up Bly earlier, too," added (Y/N). "He didn't seem to notice the flirting," she laughed.
"Clones, there's no other explanation," called Warthog.
"Yes, there is," replied (Y/N) in a cheeky tone. You'll see when the Domino Twins meet their match," she laughed.
"Look," called Comet, spotting another Iseult at the bar with the 501st. She was swaying to the beat of the music. She seemed to glow as she laughed along with the boys in blue. "The angel one," he yelled, loud enough to get Nova's attention in the booth next to theirs.
"So I do have a doppelganger," voiced (Y/N) with surprise and confusion, expertly playing her part. "Hear, I thought you have been ribbing me this entire time," she added.
"Sorry brother, I'm stealing your minx," called Thorn before gently pulling (Y/N) free, even when Wolffe protested with light growls. "I'll bring her back, promise. But you gotta give her that little gift," he added before following (Y/N) to the dance floor, where Kix had led Iseult. "You get him."
With a light twirl (Y/N) appeared to Kix's left, Iseult on his right. Both kissed a cheek before (Y/N) disappeared again, leaving Kix flustered and confused. His golden eyes were wide, cheeks flushed from the double kiss, so much so Jesse had to retrieve the stunned medic from the dance floor.
"Oh, me next," laughed Gregor, subtly letting the twin sisters know he knew their elaborate magic trick but wouldn't ruin the fun. Instead, like Fox and Thorn, he was intent on helping to add to the already brewing chaos.
"How is that possible?" Echo voiced from the bar, his words loud enough to get the attention of his brothers, Jesse, Rex, Fives, and Hardcase, too, if his chuckle was anything to go by. Each followed his line of sight until they spotted Gregor dancing in the middle of the brightly lit floor with two partners, identical partners.
"You know Gregor will dance with anyone," said Rex. "Our angel is no different," he added before returning to the bar, hopping to hide the grin threatening to take hold. He'd been working on this revenge plan for months, and now it was in motion—better than he could have imagined. However, he made a mental note to apologize to Wolffe when the truth came out.
"Rex, there's two of (Y/N)," yelled Fives, beginning to question if Rex was okay or if the rest of them were so drunk they were seeing things. "Kix is mumbling two angels."
"Ay," called Rex upon spotting Wolffe all but throw (Y/N) over his shoulder. "Sorry brother, but my medic," spoke the Captain upon catching up with Wolffe, just in time to see the real Iseult lean over the side of the booth occupied by the Wolf Pack and press a kiss to Comet's cheek. Disappearing just as quickly as she'd appeared.
"You're medic?" questioned Wolffe, securing (Y/N) over his armored shoulder, ensuring she wouldn't fall. "My Iseult!" added the Commander with hints of possessiveness as he backed away slightly. Confusion appeared in his mismatched eyes as he questioned what was going on.
"That's (Y/N), my angel," replied Rex, knowingly winding Wolffe up.
"Put me down," called (Y/N), wiggling around, hoping to get free. Conversely, Wolffe seems just as determined to keep her where she was—growling when her knee collided with his chest plate. His only other action was to wrap an arm around the nook of her knees securely.
"You two take this outside," called Thorn, "And for the love of the maker, put her down," he added. Hearing Wolffe growl over the music, at least before moving to put (Y/N) on her feet again. Confusion grew in his mismatched eyes when he stood up straight again to see the two stood together.
"What!" was all Wolffe could say, frozen to the spot as the two versions of Iseult stood before him. The rest of the Wolf Pack seemed just as confused, so each had fallen into silence like dominoes. As if it was a dream, the angel and minx glanced at one another, nodded, and moved to kiss either of his cheeks. Once, one giggled like a misbehaving child when the other seemed almost embarrassed, cheeks red, as she disappeared into the shadows.
"He," innocently chuckled Rex, rubbing the back of his neck when Wolffe's burning glare turned to him. "My mistake," he added before attempting to return to the bar. However, his escape plan didn't get far when Wolffe all but grabbed him, the scuff of his neck, and dragged him toward the exit.
"Spill. Now," growled Wolffe when the two were outside. The cold night air hit both men hard but didn't soften Wolffe's frustration or growing anger. Nor lighten his suspicion there was more going on.
"You had (Y/N)," simply responded Rex, holding his hands up as if to calm the animal Wolffe was slowly morphing into. "Iseult was with Fox until you put (Y/N) down," continued the Captain, although realization suddenly hit him. Wolffe didn't know. "You don't know, do you?"
"Know what?" growled Wolffe, stepping away from the club and glaring out into the city scenery at the flow of night traffic passing, the rainbow lights left in their wake, and the neon signs. "Iseult is a twin. My angel and your Cat'ra are twins," revealed Rex, a prang of guilt crashing into his chest. All this time, he'd believed Wolffe knew and had made plans of mischief with those beliefs. Only now to learn his battle-worn brother was none the wiser.
Wolffe looked over his shoulder, Rex's words reaching. His stiffened shoulders released slightly, and a sigh escaped his lips. Soon after, a huffed chuckle escaped him—identical Twins, the one thing no clone invested in the mystery had thought of.
"Who else knows?" asked Wolffe, a little calmer but still wound up. He made a mental note to get Iseult back for that if he could work out which twin was which. "How do you tell the difference?" he asked, correctly guessing Rex had known the truth long enough to spot the little difference between the two.
"Fox, Thorn, and Gregor. I think the 99's do as well," admitted Rex, at least giving Wolffe peace of mind. Gregor, as usual, was playing silly sods, poking fun at the others who hadn't seen the light of the truth. "Fox has been Iseult's keeper, Thorn (Y/N)'s," he added, cautiously moving closer to Wolffe. "Iseult is younger but louder, more sarcastic and mischievous than my (Y/N)."
"She's more accident-prone, too," replied Wolffe, recalling his Cat'ra missing the step while exiting the dance floor earlier. Fox had caught her. "Your angel seems more balanced, stable on her feet," he added, refusing to say his instincts had been right earlier. When (Y/N) sat on his lap, she'd given it away. She wasn't Iseult; she'd stiffened when he rested his chin on her shoulder, lost even with some of the jokes the others told.
"Only one bit left now," spoke Rex, placing a comforting hand on Wolffe's shoulder, relieved when the Commander didn't shake him away or toss him over the barrier. "All of this was meant as payback, my twins. I thought you knew the girls were identical twins," admitted the captain, owning up to his wrong assumption and revealing the whole plan was his idea; all of it was part of the long game he'd been playing with Fives and Echo.
"What's left," growled Wolffe, undecided on how he felt about the reveal. Although much of the mystery was solved, it didn't answer the confusion of the orders, which twin meant to be with him and the boy's next rotation.
"The reveal," replied Rex. "If you're up to it, throw me through the door. It should get the boys talking," chuckled the Captain, surprised no one had come to check on them, especially after Wolffe dragged him out of the bar in the first place. "Catch the girls, too."
"I have other ways to teach Iseult a lesson," voiced Wolffe, sensing he didn't need to elaborate further. "They're gonna torment us for this; you know that, right?'
"They'll forgive us … Eventually," replied Rex, suspecting (Y/N) would be a little rougher with her medical treatment after this but eventually come to laugh about it. On the other hand, Iseult was a fun mystery, even more so when (Y/N) had described her as the dark twin.
"I hope you're good at acting," commented Wolffe as he grabbed the back of Rex's utility belt in a firm hold. "And landings," he added before stepping back toward the door and all but catapulting Rex through it. The captain's signature woah escaped as he flew back into the club.
"A warning would have been nice," called Rex upon landing, holding his thumb up shortly after to indicate he was alright despite the nasty-looking landing. "Which one are you?" he asked upon lying back and seeing one of the Black Twins standing above.
"Which do you think, angel?" replied Iseult, a cheeky grin settling across her lips. "Nice flying skills; General Skywalker would be proud of that landing," she added before helping him back to his feet. "Which is my target?"
"Fives and Wolffe knows."
"The bugger told me he remembered everything," replied Iseult, looking back to Wolffe, seemingly relaxing now. "A concussion caused spotty memory," she explained, concern coming over her features now, not for the punishment she knew Wolffe would get her with later, but for his overall well-being; he'd lied to her about something as important as his health.
Soon enough, she shook her head and tried to locate Fives. She spotted him with Echo at the bar, laughing with his brothers and (Y/N). Once again, she joined Fox until the time was right to strike and help make the big reveal. Wolffe joined them shortly after that, far more relaxed now he knew what was going on. Without a word, he reached to move her hair over her shoulder, carefully placing a silver necklace around her neck. Dangling from the chain was a little wolf charm.
"Don't do that again," Wolffe whispered in Iseult's ear, a tinge of possessiveness and jealousy tarnishing his otherwise rough voice. "Now, go finish this before I change my mind," he added, kissing her neck. Only rolling miss-matched eyes upon hearing her saying, "Roger, Roger."
Iseult regretfully tore herself from Wolffe's warm grip, sneaking onto the dance floor shortly after (Y/N) dragged the intended targets to the dance floor; both buzzed and grinned like mad men. Rex went over to Wolffe, hoping to watch the sparks fly when the truth finally hit all their brothers. Especially Fives and Echo. After all, the pair of Arctroopers weren't the only ones who could play switch-a-roo.
"Told you she was accident prone," grinned Wolffe, watching as Iseult tripped up the step and right into Fives. Both tumbled to the glowing floor with a thud. It took a while for Echo to notice Fives wasn't standing anymore, or the angels had doubled.
"Sorry," called Iseult, pushing herself back up before reaching to pull Fives back to his feet. "That step has it out for me," she added sweetly, her grin mischievous as (Y/N) chuckled from her side. Even more so, as it hit Fives, there were two instead of one. He quickly grabbed Echo and shook the other arc trooper before pointing it out.
(Y/N) and Iseult looked at each other before laughing.
"You're with me," started (Y/N), a sing-song tone to her voice.
"I'm with you," added Iseult in the same tone.
"Always one, born as two," both sang in unison.
"And that boys is what you call twin magic," spoke Iseult with a mischievous grin that could strike fear into anyone.
"Alright, Sexy Rexy," called (Y/N), throwing the spotlight onto him, at least before bursting into a fit of laughter. The many expressions passing over and pinballing between the two collectively known as the Domino Twins.
"Fives, Echo, meet the Black Twins," spoke Rex upon reaching the identical medics. Wolffe followed just behind, coming to the side of Iseult. "You already know our angel, (Y/N). Meet her identical terror twin, Iseult."
"Terror, that's been a little harsh," began Echo upon rediscovering his ability to speak. Fives stood at his side at a loss for words, his mouth hanging open from the revelation. Rex had planned it all out and recruited identical twins to his cause. "Never mind."
"Next time, tell me when you don't remember something," declared Iseult, her voice serious, although her concern lit up her eyes.
"Oof, imagine what it would have been like with said Terror on rotation with us," called Jesse, laughing at Wolffe's sudden silence, a hand held to his cheek where Iseult's hand had collided with it.
"She's already been with us," called Kix, "CM-1916 is Iseult. The twin with us last year," he added, finally seeing the truth all of them had missed. When the orders came through, the ID numbers differed, but no one noticed it. Instead, they were distracted by the identical headshot of said medics. "(Y/N)'s identification is CM-1911."
"AH!" screeched Iseult before a giggle escaped her lips. Wolffe had come out in shock. "Alright, alright, I get it. I'm in trouble," she laughed. "Can I at least pay for my tab first?" she added again, intending to be a good citizen this time. Wolffe merely huffed before redirecting toward the bar, briefly putting her down; once she paid, he picked her up bridal style and left the bar. This time with a promise on his lips. No more hiding.
"Now I see the difference," spoke Fives. "We have the innocent one," he laughed when (Y/N) shot him an offended look, at least before a wide grin appeared across her lips.
"Think we should clue Howzer and Cody in?" asked Gregor (Y/N), already figuring Gregor knew his torment was Iseult. After all, she was far more confident and wasn't afraid to flirt back when someone flirted with her. "And Bly."
"Was more than just us caught?" said Echo, shaking his head as if to rid himself of the mental images forming—the chaos the two sisters could have caused in the past.
"Howzer's tormentor was Iseult, evident by how she knocked him senseless the last time," replied Rex, recalling the string of insults Howzer had mistakenly believed were compliments in his drunken state. "It doesn't affect Wolffe as much."
"And I'm the disappearing nerdy one haunting Cody," laughed (Y/N), recalling the act each had perfected over the years. It started when they were just normal children on their home island. Somehow, it had morphed into the mystery the clones had got behind. "Apparently, I suck at flirting, lol; Bly didn't even notice," she added, rubbing herself.
"Don't take it too hard. Bly only has eyes for Aayla Secura," replied Fives; now, the shock was wearing off, and reality had hit him. Rex had played the long game with them and many others and won. His secret weapon was what no one saw coming: a little bit of medic magic—Twin Magic.

The realisation froze him, his entire body stiff as the blood left his face. He stepped back, almost on autopilot, and he took her hand. It was slender, and warm, like Ally’s always was. But as he ran his hand over her fingertips, his stomach dropped.
Oh God, he was going to be sick.

If you didn't know me and I came up to you in public and asked you whether or not you get along with your sibling, that would be pretty weird, right?
Like, we can all agree that that's personal information that I, a total stranger, would have no business asking about, right??
Then please, for the love of god, stop asking twins weird, invasive questions like that.
"Which one of you is older?" None of your business.
"Which one of you gets more dates?" None of your business.
"Do you two ever fight?" None. Of. Your. Business.
It doesn't matter if you're curious. We don't owe you personal details about our lives. We don't know you.
