Sleepover with two puny mortals that you're in love with (and everything can go right).
Lowkey based on a fanfic I was writing, but as usual I haven't the confidence to post it! Yeah~
Had this in the drafts for months,,,, figured I'd finish it up now so it's done. I like to kinda have some Finished art on the page hahahaha
#me when I'm unable to do streaming and music bc of my flu so I have time to focus on art instead#I recommend having multiple hobbies yall#hobbies you can do in different situations I mean#anyway this fic was so cute I'm ngl#it was meant to be timkon but then Bern materialised and had some extremely sweet moments with Kon and then ended up with the three of them#getting together casually and feeling it out as a three and then BOOM they're all in love#also Tim quit being a field vigilante and became a new comms guy (without alfred Barbara was rly just In A Situation)#and I fixed a few patches in the insane working conditions of the Wayne family business#basically it was extremely self indulgent because Tim's cool and chill vibe taking over WE and also performing a coup so Batman could retir#resulted in the family just kind of chilling out#and so he became free to explore romance and his Tim life (like he wants to do!)#bat workers rights!#art#digital art#fanart#screentone#manga style#illustrationish#tim drake#tim drake wayne#red robin dc#kon el#conner kent#superboy#bernard dowd#timkon#timbern#konbern#timbernkon#oh Tim's new vigilante name was Stalker (I'm not good at naming things) but the fam tends to refer to him as Chat (bc funni)

if you talk to the average conservative voter, they'll always talk about their conservative representative with unabashed enthusiasm. "this guy is supporting my rights!!!!!" even when the representative is very much not supporting their voting constituents' rights in some cases (ie. poor white ppl not realizing they're getting poorer because of their representative)
and I bet that's why conservative candidates are so good at winning. any person listening to their voters only gets a great impression of the candidate.
and if you talk to the average liberal/leftist voter, they all hem and haw. "oh yeah, I voted for them but they're Okay, they're Disappointing. they haven't done this. they haven't done that." and I bet if you fucking pressed them to state some Good Beneficial Legislation they've passed, either the voter 1. can't name any, or 2. has to attach caveats. ("yeah biden passed student loan forgiveness BUT not ALL loans were forgiven")
why aren't we ever excited about incremental progress. why aren't we cheering to the sky about every win. maybe more people would vote if there was genuine excitement, the same type of excitement that conservative voters seem to have about anything labeled "conservative".
I'm just so fucking tired of hearing ppl be like "I'm just disillusioned with my leftist representative" EVERY TIME but are DEAD SILENT on the small victories, the progress. conservatives know how to do this, and that's why they build momentum into the next election. why does this seem impossible for the other side.
#new rule: if you're gonna say smth bad about your leftist representative#you have to first name one good legislation they passed before doing so#I'll go first. trudeau sucks. but trudeau & the ndp abolished interest on canadian student loans#he's expanding the canadian pension plan!! so workers have more money at retirement!!#him and the ndp are pushing a dental care insurance coverage!!!!!!#he's trying to get through a 10 dollar day care plan for families!!!!!#SORRY BUT ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE GOOD and they're ONLY HAPPENING because the ndp can push him left#the conservative candidate will never let that happen AND wants to take away abortion rights#so lets all fucking grow up and open a news website and start celebrating the small victories that may lead to huge ones#mika rambles on

Times have changed and waiting until retirement to enjoy life is no longer the milestone Canadian millennials and Gen Z strive for, according to a recent survey. A Leger survey commissioned by Canadian investment service Wealthsimple found that nearly three-quarters (74 per cent) of Canadians between the ages of 25 and 44 feel the conventional approach to retirement — to stop working at 65 years old to then enjoy travelling, leisure and time with family and friends — is an outdated concept. The online money management platform says the study reflects ambition among millennials and Gen Z Canadians for "a modern form of retirement" that lets them pursue personal and professional passions throughout their adult lives.

just a heads up that enmeshment with your therapist is a sign that you need a different therapist. you go to these people to offload and heal, but if you're emotionally enmeshed and that's keeping you from bringing topics forward, that is no longer a healthy relationship nor a therapist that should be treating you.
just so you're aware. your therapist should not be an uncle figure you're afraid to talk about embarrassing stuff with, he's an impartial audience to help you heal. that emotional connection is now HINDERING you from healing.
honestly! me making one personal post! does not tell you the full story! while i defintly have an emotional connection with him- i have had other therapists in my life in and out the entire time. i seek help from other sources frequently! i said it was like talking to an uncle simply because of the fact he’s known me since i was a child, which makes talking about adult topics at times a little embarrasing because he knew me when i was 11!! he is not like an uncle to me in an other respect, i have a seperation. and i have openly discussed this with him and why im uncomfortable at times!! but we talk it out!! because its my therapist and me making one post doesnt mean you know everything!! geez!! also ive been embarrassed to talk about sex with every other therapist ive had!! not your call to make!!
#in the time ive been seeing him ive had easily a dozen other social workers clinicians case workers and speciality therapists. ive been to#groups and classes and everything.#having a stable person in my life who i can trust to help me is important to me because ive been to so many doctors and a lot of them i dont#trust at all. there are some times i struggle with him but i feel safe to talk to him#it just takes me a minute sometimes because i remember playing board games in our sessions and its weird to be an adult now#he’s probably retiring soon so i plan to stay until he does. and then i will move on#impartiality sure. but i need to trust someone to some level. the social worker i saw the longest it took me several years with to discuss#my abuser with because its!! hard to talk about that stuff with someone you dont know

The 33,000 Boeing workers on strike since Sept. 13 are fighting a corporate giant with nearly $78 billion in sales last year. While strikers are concentrated in the Seattle metropolitan area, workers are also picketing in Portland, Ore., and Southern California.
Ninety-four percent of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) members voted to reject Boeing’s meager wage offer that would barely keep up with inflation.
They also want their pensions back, which were stolen from them a decade ago. Instead of being guaranteed a fixed amount of money every month when they retire, Boeing workers had 401(k) plans foisted on them.
These schemes guarantee nothing. With them, workers’ retirement income is subject to the casino capitalism of the stock market.

My fav thing about TAZ is that any aspect out of context sounds fucking bonkers.
Like, in the balance finale there's a scene in which Garfield (who is very specifically never described visually bc most people imagine him as like. The Lasagna Cat. Who in this universe is the most powerful warlock in the realm and also has a hobby of cloning people, which is great for the one character that got forced into haunting a mannequin) is summoned by an alien spaceship that runs on the power of friendship so he could beat up some flashing balls. In D&D.
And that was just. Such a normal scene in the narrative. No one blinked an eye. I would like to bow down to Griffins clear unmatched talent for making me feel such big emotions over ridiculous shit like a goddamned umbrella or a regular ass pair of jeans or the idea of a taco recipe.
#taz balance#the adventure zone#taz#i have. so many drafts of this post decontexualizing so many different scenes.#merle killing a room of autism creature looking things by asking them to tell the truth which then summons god#also merle retiring from his retirement to run fantasy margaritaville under the title Earl Merle#magnus the mannequin telling taako and merle to find the baby voidfish bc the big voidfish sung at him real hard bc in the century he#just now remembered (bc hes a mannequin not a human boy)#he gifted an alien jellyfish with dozens of shitty wooden ducks. he forgot that century bc his friend fed the jellyfishs baby a book#the gnome version of Teddy Rucksbin turns out to be the universes most competent spaceship pilot. hes also a talented opera singer#a man named Barry Bluejeans is dead and uses his ghost haunting powers to gift the three heroes badges that they cant see#right before theyre shuttled off in a cannonball to save a space lab full of kitschy elevators thats snowing pink tourmaline#barry also uses his ghost powers to hold hands with magnus and make random shapes in midair like a dresser when theyre trapped in a#fantasy version of The Dating Game hosted by ghost Jesse and James Rocket who steal bodyparts if you lose their game.#or like in campaign how a dude who wiped out in the first three seconds of ninja warrior convinces a human wifi router#who owns a bible theme park to take the apparent King of America to the white house on their hovercraft to be trued for treason#after he announced his intent to take over the country in a televised debate with an inuit goddess who is sometimes trapped in the body#of an HR worker all Donald Blake/Thor style#anyways. this show is ridiculous and i love it So Much

i think edward little would be great at emails actually. i think he'd love having to opportunity to think abt what he needs to say and formulate it well and concisely. i think he'd write perfectly ok emails, to the point but polite enough not to be blunt. in normal circumstances he'd receive normal emails and write normal replies and it would be fine. the problem in terror is that he keeps getting increasingly upsetting emails from his boss and they're all no-reply
#as i was writing this post i started thinking abt those joplittle fics where they're retired or ned gets and administrative job#office worker nedward getting a bit of a pouch n becoming self conscious abt it#versus thomas jopson who loves to see it (health n recovery baby) and thinks that's killer hot actually#*pats and rubs ned's stomach lovingly* somft and huggable and a sign of ur health and nothing to be ashamed of#cue ned giving thomas the tightest most loving bear hug of the decade#(which he didn't dare do for a bit there bc it made him overly conscious of the weight he gained)#i am once again writing posts in the tags of random other posts#the terror#btw yes i am projecting my approach to emails on ned#i compose an email toeing the line between politely concise and blunt. i hit send. no longer my problem. goodbye!

every article I read about Canada Post makes me more enraged with the government than I already am
#fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you!!!!!!!#don't act like you're suddenly worried abt small businesses!#every quote from the union is like 'we want our workers to live and retire in comfort and dignity'#and every quote from canada post/govt officials is like 'this has really hurt our business'#the fact that employees can be legislated back to work is sickening when it happened to us at the school board and it's sickening now#public employee solidarity you fucking bastards

LMFAO I TOOK MY MUM'S FUCKIN' JOB
#one of her old work friends just called like 'I'm so glad I caught you#I really wanted to be the one who told you!'#honestly i also like the implication that there was a pseudo-race between josie and rachel and kate about who got to tell me first lol#they're all so sweet#i am gonna gossip so hard with my mum's old work friends you don't even know#now it's time to be terrified~~~#but also this is the greatest relief#i feel like i can be a human being again#i've been unemployed so long that i may have felt a bit defective#but even my 'starting work at new job' anxiety is greatly appeased knowing that i know half my co-workers already#and if i need clarification i know they're lovely and i can always ask my mum because she worked there FOREVER#i will brace myself for all the 'Oh you're LIZZY'S daughter!'s that i know i'm gonna get#but AH i'm so relieved#and it's only part time#4 days a week so i can REALLY get back into the swing of working again#I GOT A JOB#nah fuck fear this is just RELIEF#feathers speaks#psa for anyone not up on this tho: my mother retired and I took her job AFTER it went up again#i didn't literally steal my mum's job lol

Lived in China for almost a decade. This isn’t a “everything was greener over there post”. HOWEVER, women retire between 50-55 by law, men a couple years later (not sure why the difference) and the quality of life this creates is PALPABLE, VISIBLE, and WILD.
Everywhere you go, healthy middle aged women living. Every evening on almost every corner or every tower plaza, groups of middle aged and older women line dancing to intricate choreography beside a boombox. They practice together. They go to meets and competitions. Every mall is packed with grandfathers and babies. Every gym is slammed with 50-something’s enjoying a second spring for their bodies. The women’s dressing rooms are a social SCENE for gossip, make up, high heel swaps, who’s going to lunch? These aren’t rich women. They aren’t Ladies Who Lunch. These were postal clerks. Secretaries. Data entry specialists. Cafeteria workers. Hospital orderlies.
Every young couple I knew who got married chose their new home based on whether they could find one with a semi-private wing for their retired parents. The pension joined the family’s income stream and voila, live in child care. At one point I worked with kids. I asked kids who their hero is an like 95% say grandma or grandpa because he/she will do anything with me, take me to the park whenever I want, play games with me, know my favorite tv shows.
Young women get to have careers and remain in the workforce because older men and women can fucking retire.
That’s what early retirement gets an economy. All of this. That’s the kind of trickle down economics that is REAL.

the heart specialists agreed to a 24hr monitor test and an ultrasound on my heart! great success, since he was very adamant about not testing me at all 🫠
#glad he finally listened tho i had to use underhanded tactics (my disability case worker needed the result)#(she hasnt asked for them SPECIFICALLY but... i know she will? so i said she requested it specifically sksksk)#i feel bad for 'lying' (it wont be bcos she'll need it anyways for the request of early disability retirement) but he kept going abt my age#he said 'ur only 29' exactly NINE (9) times in a 24 minute consultation#nohr.txt
