Looking through your Ao3 bookmarks and seeing that little âThis has been deleted, sorry!â is like finding a gravestone, but the writingâs too worn down to read what it was standing for anymore.
What were you, Bookmark #336... What stories did you tell? Which words were it that once left a mark on my soul? *touches my laptop screen like itâs text from an ancient ruin*

my fanfiction abortion morgue is gaining another jayroy victim that is not long enough to clean up for ao3. this was going to be a very long and meandering noodle about in the river that is jason's mental health and trauma and relationships of all types and healing and the asexual/aromantic spectrum (not that that's the verbage jason would use or language hes even aware of) and low sex drives all that beautiful muck and mire but i have not put a single word on it in well over a year now. so i'm letting her go. be free little fish.
-
Theyâre better now, anyways, better than they ever were before. Jason had a crisis a few months back, stopping himself from reaching reflexively for his phone to give Dick a call about- nothing important. And then he had realized that he had reflexively gone to call Dick about nothing important, and had gone and stared out the window for 15 minutes, trying to work himself into a different, less horrifying conclusion than the one gathering in his brain like an avalanche. Roy had come home in the middle of it, taken one look at his face and dropped his bag on the floor with a thunk.
âHoly shit,â he said. âWho died?â
âI like him,â Jason said, somewhere between incredulous and horrified. âThat cunt, that motherfucker- he made me actually like him-,â
âWho?â
âDick!â Jason had shouted. âThat piece of shit, I want to spend time with him, hours out of my actual human life that I canât get back-,â
Roy had proceeded to laugh in his face for a solid ten minutes, positively gleeful about Jasonâs horrible emotional crisis. âHe does that to you, man,â he said once theyâd settled in, still chuckling as he cracked open a can of soda, posted up on their couch with Ethiopian takeout in his lap. âOne minute youâre sitting there thinking oh my god, this guy, heâs so loud and annoying-,â
âAnd he never fuckinâ stops moving,â Jason groaned from his spot laying on the floor below him. âHis body or his mouth. And he chews loud, heâs obnoxious on purpose, and heâs a model and dated Kory but half the time he dresses like something a goodwill dumpster threw up-,â
âHave you seen his new shoes?â Roy asked. âI dress like dogshit, man, but those things-,â
âWally got them for him,â Jason said, and then immediately slapped his hands over his face, horrified that he knew that. Roy laughed again. âHeâs constantly in your fuckinâ business! Constantly! Last time I saw him he knew the social security numbers of the baristas in the coffee shop Iâd been going to-,â
âHe gets enabled,â Roy muttered, shoveling injera into his mouth.
âHe gets enabled!â Jason said. âEveryone enables him! I enable him! And god, his fucking- puns, man, his quips, weâre all guilty of it but this is a fight, not comedy hour, and even if it was youâd get booed off the stage-,â
âHe texted me what he said to Mr. Freeze two weeks ago and I wanted to eat my phone,â Roy said. âItâs amazing no villains kill themselves after he hands their asses to them, I would be humiliated.â
âHe sucks!â Jason snapped.Â
âHe sucks,â Roy agreed. âAnd then you look around one day at your life-,â
âAnd you go oh shit, I think this motherfuckerâs alright!â Jason mimed hitting himself in the face with Royâs abandoned house slipper. âFuck! Whatâs fucking wrong with me?â
Roy laughed at him, again. âDick Grayson Derangement Syndrome gets us all in the end,â he said. Jason curled a hand around his bare ankle, and Roy looked down to smile at him, the smallest touch making his whole face bloom open like a rose. Jason had to look away from it, wanting to say: stop. No. You know Iâm not enough. You know Iâm not like you. You know I canât give you enough.
Heâs been wanting to say that a lot, these days. Toss Roy off the sinking ship with a lifeboat before he has to wake up one day, years on, and realize heâs wasted years with Jason, who canât love that loud.
He wanted to call Dick about it, which was another horrible realization. Hi big bird, Iâm having boy problems. Dick would probably tell him that it means more that Jason has to try, that wanting to try for it is selfless, makes it more significant, which is the kind of thinking that lands a motherfucker in bed with Barbara Gordon, who is enough like Jason to warrant a comparison, but not enough to call her and ask what he should do. Babs loves like the Bolton Strid, and sometimes Jason isnât sure he loves at all. Not like that.
Jason isnât nearly as selfless as Dick is convinced he is, not deep down. Because he doesnât want to let Roy go at all.
Itâs late, well into the witching hours, and theyâre laying in bed in what was formerly Royâs bedroom but now holds them both, blinds cracked to let the streetlights through. Jason doesnât like the dark. Royâs threatening to buy an eyemask. Jason thinks itâs stupid to blind yourself to potential attackers. Neither of them have brought up going back to sleeping separately. Royâs nose is pressed between Jasonâs shoulder blades, breath humid through his shirt. Not asleep yet, but close. Jasonâs books are proliferating on Royâs shelves, his boxers in Royâs laundry basket, garrotte wires coiled next to bow strings on the desk that has framed photos, past-Jasonâs mouth a little white slash in the bar of orange streetlamp.
Something is clawing at the inside of Jasonâs chest, scrabbling like a wild little animal. Trying to dig its way through his spine, into Roy. It hurts.
He shifts, turns over, pushes Roy over onto his back and rolls on top of him, propped up on his elbows to look down at him. Roy grunts, half-awake and confused, but takes his weight. He blinks blearily up at Jason, a crease between his eyebrows- Jason must look intense right now. âJaybird?â he starts, quiet.
Jason knows this feeling- as all-consuming as it is- is fleeting. Itâll be gone in the morning, and heâll forget it was ever here. He wonât be able to recall its bite until it comes back around again, like Halleyâs comet. He should say something now, while he has it. While he feels it. So Roy can know itâs real. He just doesnât know how to describe it.
âJase,â Roy says, sounding more concerned, âJason, whatâs-,â
âSomething in here,â Jason interrupts, putting a hand on his own chest, a thudding sound of muscle on muscle, âWants to eat you.â God, he feels dumb. Heâs not good at this, he sounds so much better in his head. His words come out of his mouth sour and curdled and stupid, thereâs a reason he doesnât try to talk about this shit-
Roy lights up, slow at first, then all at once, his face creasing up in his smile like old paper, following familiar folds. Jason feels his toes curl next to his calves, his feet pointing and flexing in excitement. Jason wishes he could make himself smile back, anything other than the dead-eyed concentration he knows heâs wearing right now, but the weight in his ribs is too real and too wild for that- if his teeth come out this might get literal. He wants to crack open Royâs sternum with his bare hands, climb in like a contortionist and slam it shut behind him.
âReally?â Roy asks, small and soft and giddy. Jason nods, serious. Royâs teeth dig into his bottom lip, smiling so wide his nose is wrinkling up, little inky lines in the artificial twilight. âCool,â he says.Â
Jasonâs hands spasm in the sheets next to Royâs head. âRoy,â he starts, âCan I-,â stops. Doesnât know what he wants. Maybe just to look at him until the sun comes up, just to watch the light turn his freckles from a smear in the dim to pinprick-sized marigolds. Maybe to go to sleep on him like this, the thunder of his heart under Jasonâs cheek. Maybe he wants everything. Maybe he wants to be the greediest son of a bitch in Gotham.Â
âYou can do anything,â Roy promises, and the sincerity in his voice makes the thing chewing on Jasonâs lungs shake. âAnything you want. Iâll let you do everything.â
Jason drops his head against Royâs chest with a grunt like heâs just been punched, unable to choke it back. He pushes himself up- Roy makes a quiet, sad noise, grabbing for him- and fumbles the bedside lamp on. He wants to see everything. Royâs pupils are huge, even in the light heâs flinching from, irises that strange half-color, too dark for blue or green and too flat for hazel and too light to be brown. His cowlickâs sending his hair in every direction at the left temple, and heâs still smiling at Jason, like he canât help it. Jason doesnât know what to do, now that heâs here. A restaurant with an infinite menu. What he wants is strange, probably. Not how normal people want things, not what they want. Jason is off-putting, sometimes on purpose, frequently not, and he doesnât know how this will come across. But Roy said he could have anything. Whatever he wanted. Giving up all of himself, for nothing. For free.Â
Jason should take it. Roy will stop him, if he needs it. He puts his mouth on the cowlick, not a kiss, tucks his nose into Royâs hair and breathes in deep. The nothing-smell of hair thatâs not clean but not dirty. Royâs hands are pressing into his lats, his legs spreading and crossing behind Jasonâs thighs, holding him there. Jason curls both his hands around Royâs skull, presses gently, cradling his head- all of Roy is in there, somehow, and he needs to be careful with it. His skull feels too small to hold something so important, too fragile.Â
Jason drags his thumbs over his eyebrows, presses a thumbnail into the scar bisecting the left one- string snap, Roy told him, nearly took that eye out. Royâs looking up at him still, and theyâre close enough that Jason could count his eyelashes, if he wanted. He runs his fingers over Royâs ears, feeling the cartilage, gently pinches the flesh of his earlobe, over the hole where he used to have gauges. He moves down to Royâs neck, puts his hands around his throat, doesnât squeeze. He feels it when Royâs breath hitches. Roy shuts his eyes, swallows, his Adam's apple moving under Jasonâs palms.Â
Jason bites him where his neck meets his shoulder, hard. He thinks about being normal, trying to make it a hickey- but Roy jerks hard beneath him with a strangled noise and that thing in Jasonâs chest makes him hold that position until Roy stops moving, until the bolt of his jaw aches. He lets go, spit shining around the deep purple indents in Royâs skin. Roy lets out a shaking breath, eyes still shut.
Roy already knows heâs an inscrutable freak, Jason decides. Heâs going to do everything heâs ever looked at Roy and thought about doing, everything he thought might be weird that heâs ever refrained from. Roy wonât run.
If he does, well. Jason will chase him. Roy is the one who said he was locking Jason down, said nobody in or out. He canât get too mad if Jason takes him up on it.
He presses his nose near Royâs armpit. The sharp, live smell of his sweat in Jasonâs lungs, muted by whatever axe deodorant he uses that always makes Jason think of a cold wet morning. He rubs his mouth over Royâs deltoid, teeth dragging. Jason pushes up and kneels with his thighs on either side of Royâs torso, picks up an arm, runs his hands over Royâs bicep, digs his thumbs into his elbow. Puts Royâs thumb in his mouth, tastes skin and salt, bites the draw calluses on his fingers, gentle. Does the other arm too, to keep it even. Royâs breathing slow and even, looking at Jason again as he shoves his mouth into Royâs wrist until he can feel the pulse against his lower lip. Royâs trying to caress his face with that hand, canât quite manage more than a brush of his fingertips against Jasonâs ear.Â
Jason knows what he should say here. What he hasnât been saying, because he knows itâs not the same as how Roy will say it, thinking that it will somehow be a lie because the meaningâs different. But itâs words, which are only stories. There is nothing in a story that is a lie, and no analysis that is wrong, with supporting evidence. Which Jason has, which Jason has always had. Roy at his right shoulder. Never wanting anyone else at his back. Saying to Dick: if there wasnât Roy, there wouldnât be anybody. The way they keep finding each other at the lowest of lows, facedown in bottles or looking down barrels of guns to see if they can spot the bullet. Standing there feeling stupid in the holes theyâve dug, pickaxes in hand, before turning and finding the other, just as deep as they are. Saying: gimme a boost and Iâll give you a hand.
Even if he doesnât mean it in the same way, he means it. I want you, I want you, I want you. The inflection changes the meaning, but only by the barest degrees.Â
âI love you,â Jason says, and heâs not lying, because he means them, even if itâs not always how he thinks he should.
#my writing#jayroy#important to note that JASON'S thoughts on his position on the ace/aro spectrum may not be the most woke or whatever. THE AUTHOR (ME) think#that whatever jazzes your music is great and wonderful#Jason's thoughts are very complicated and he is dealing with a deep and wide trauma base and is not aware of the asexual/aromantic labels#this is not a âthis is how YOU should feel!â this is a âhow would a character w/o access to that type of language or emotional awareness#handle a situation where he has One Person who he does not know how he feels about just that he cannot let this person out of his life#and feels poorly because he thinks he is 'not enough' or 'does not feel enough' compared to that person? and is worried he will hurt them?"#& trusting and respecting someone enough to believe in them that they know the whole you and are making the choice to be in this#relationship with you with their eyes open and are okay with what they are getting and not trying to throw them out to 'protect them'#i at the time was having some real in depth thoughts about this stuff wrt the guy who i am now dating (he knows this)#and his position on these spectrums and my location on these spectrums etc. it kind of a little bit was a love letter to him.#anyways. it was going to be long and in depth and complicated and i just dont have room in my heart for long complicated in depth jayroy#at the moment. alas#i also then had my trans woman jason epiphany/sign from god and this was going to get EVEN MORE COMPLICATED#just not the threads i want to weave with anymore#if you read all these tags WOW

Once Brennan specified to Riz that Kipperlilly didn't have a scar I knew exactly how all the revivifying would play out. To me it makes perfect sense that Kipperlilly is the only one to stay permanently dead. Not mortalistically, but remember this is a story. Penelope Everpetal and Dayne also stayed permanently dead too. Riz shot off Buzz's fingers. The key thing is Brennan said that Kipperlilly didn't have a scar, she didn't die and then chose Ankarna, she chose to side with Porter first. Similarly to Penelope and Dayne. Where all three of them ultimately still manipulated by other forces using them? Yes. But they fundamentally chose their side because of something they wanted to gain. When Brennan made that distinction between Kipperlilly and the others, it was obvious where that was going.
Brennan wouldn't have crafted a narrative of manipulation just to kill all the Rat Grinders because that wouldn't have been very satisfying, given that we knew so little about them why would we cheer for Ivy to stay dead or Mary Ann? Remember: The cast was only talking about Atonement and revivifying Mary Ann, but Brennan revivified all the others too even though they weren't shown to have a change of heart. This is because, while possibly jerks, the others weren't set-up to be so bad that their perma-deaths would have been all that satisfying.
In contrast, Kipperlily's beef with everyone was front and center and she killed her own party member. If Kipperlilly was going to come back and be redeemed after that it would have felt cheap. Not because of something inherent to Kipperlily but because no one did the work to make that a possibility. NOW, if someone had been in her dreams and putting in the work like Fig did for Rueben, it could have worked. But people didn't put in the works. FANS have extrapolated sympathetic angles for Kipperlilly but the narrative hasn't. Remember Aelwyn's redemption only came after Adaine was exploring it. Thus, since no one explored Kipperlily's redemption, it wasn't "text," it wasn't an angle present in the narrative that would have been satisfying because it didn't develop enough to have a conclusion.
Basically: Narratives have to be set up. Some permanent consequences had to be dealt to the Rat Grinders to feel satisfying given everything they had done to the Bad Kids. Kipperlilly was shown to be the most voluntarily antagonistic, and was the one set-up as having been antagonizing them and so she was the one who had die. If the players had made different choices, thing could have changed, but they didn't and so Brennan merely delivered on what was set up before
#dimension 20#dimension 20 spoilers#fantasy high#hoping this can squash some controversy#ALSO wanting to explore different narratives (like where Kipperlilly lives) or thinking that would be a fun angle isn't the same as harping#on the cast for doing the wrong thing or at Brennan for his choices. Fanfic is all about new angles the authors didn't take!#It's important to respect BOTH the players and their choices and people's right to be curious about how alternatives could have played out#What I'm saying is that narratively the decisions made perfect sense and people acting like they can't understand why/how this happened are#maybe not really considering how a narrative is strucutured

Reading the webtoon andâŚ
Does this imply that Kim Dokja also tried to write a questionnaire for her to fill in since she wouldnât speak to him, that either he 1) never gave her in the end (especially if he couldnât find her after she was released) or 2) gave it to her and she STILL refused to answer?
Because that is so so so so awful. It was already bad but if he tried so many ways to get her to speak and she still gave him no response, regardless of her reasoning⌠isnât that still directly choosing to cut herself fully out of his life? Why in the hell did she lie for his sake and allow him to visit her if she wanted to never speak to him again?
I know everyone claims Kim Dokja is just like her in sacrificing himself for loved ones, but at least he tries his best to stay with them and to keep them in his life. He still chooses sacrifice, but itâs not because he intends to never return. He always returns (even if much later than planned).
The only time this differs is with 51%, when he STILL tried his best to stay with them - at least as much as he could.
I sometimes like Lee Sookyung, but I am mostly still SO mad at her for completely ignoring her child since he was 8 years old. Especially when he must have looked like shit any number of times from being mistreated and bullied by family, friends, army, employers.
But maybe thatâs just the fragment in me being eternally pissed with her. She DOES love him, but like he says in the webtoon in this chapter - maybe such truths are painful enough to be false anyways, because theyâre just SUCH bullshit. Thatâs not how affection should work, if you actually care about someone and want them to be happy.
#RAWWRGHHH I WANT TO SHAKE HER SO MUCH#LOOK AFTER YOUR KID#and if you canât do that because of circumstances at least ACKNOWLEDGE HIM#yes I do know she cared and itâs just that she mistakenly believes heâs better off this way without her but like#then WHY does she still insert herself back into his life when heâs finally stopped trying to get her to speak?#yes yes others have great analyses on her and their relationship and I usually agree with their logic but itâs still. So. Hard. to like her#but then I remember that this story was the little Dreamâs wishful thinking to cope back then on his own#and so maybe in his world Lee Sookyung never ever would speak to him again#he just wished she would so he wrote it down as happening for This older version of him#and thatâs somehow worse because like#even in the story where he got her to speak to him again she still wonât speak so he has to force the words out some way (via outer god)#and if thatâs true then itâs still just his interpretation of her actions and choices#and not her own since she never told him#so like ARGGHHH#but I like to believe that characters have autonomy despite their respective authorâs efforts in documenting them#so she still chose to speak all of this too and he would have accurately interpreted her this way because she controls what she says#even if he (little Dream Kim Dokja) is the one writing it down as wish fulfilment fix-it fic#a fix-it for himself and not just for the other people he loves#đđđ#orv#orv spoilers#omniscient readerâs viewpoint#lee sookyung#kim dokja

the blunt, all or nothing, dichotomous approach to characterizing kunikida as prim and obedient for his probity and obsessive adherence to structure as his means for kettling the parts of himself too untethered to leave unchecked IS very silly and falls apart against canon like an overworked block of dry melamine foam.
but, like, the insistence that he must be punk because he speaks colloquially, brazenly withholds deference to quite literally everyone who isn't capable of either throwing him to the ground or discerning the truth of all matters with preternatural acuity, and disdains authority is also a blunt, all or nothing, dichotomous approach to characterization.
like, punk fanon Kunikida is not a retort to staid fanon Kunikida. they are both package-dealing in the Ayn Rand use of the phrase: whether punk or prep, both fail to discriminate crucial differences between Kunikida's character and the stock characters to which fanon attaches his name.
Kunikida's rigidity in adhering to his self defined, self evaluated, and self-imposed virtues is not remotely the same as legalism. Kunikida fucking anguishes over whether he is sincere and unfaltering in his ideals. (see: Jouno taunting him + his unbridled fear that he is internally hollow and the ideals holding him aloft are not the substance of deeply held convictions but hot air fueled by his loved ones for whom he is only puffing his chest and performing someone capable of carrying them, and without whom he lacks the spirit to fill that space within him where a greater man might have cultivated a spine, such that he will sink, sink, sink to crumple shapelessly to the ground, liberated from artifice only when there isn't anyone there to lighten the weight of his leaden ego, his isolation as common as the dirt coating his tongue, his transcendence precluded by the cruelty with which reality disfigured his instinct for goodness into a desire for power and empty glory until his soul, still gnashing on the rot of those he couldn't save, starved.)
In other words: his ideals can't be performed or externally enforced. They must be internally cultivated, coaxed into bloom through introspection, their flowering petals manifestations of his deepest feelings. otherwise, he is nothing but hot air and tepid flesh.
except he's not! because while his faith is faint and his body easily crushed beneath the weight of external forces with little regard for love, sincerity, and labor; his body can't feed his ideals anymore than his ideals could feed his body. His ideals can't fill his belly like meat and potatoes or expand his hollow heart like a hot air balloon because, unlike matter, his ideals are intangible. They do not occupy any space or time, and reality can't crush or despoil what it can't grasp, and it can't grasp what doesn't exist by its own laws. It's not that Kunikida's ideals grapple with his reality; nor can his reality erode his ideals. There's nothing to contradict everything, so everything persists.
Kunikida can't trust that he isn't empty, but nothing is emptiness, and his ideals are nothing, so absent inherent faith, absent substance in the yawning void within him, Kunikida nevertheless has his ideals. He has courage, sincerity, love, truth, and labor, not despite his emptiness, but because his emptiness is as conceptual as his ideals; he can't eat concepts but nor can concepts ever be rendered inert â inertia relates only to matter and the material world, which emptiness, nothing, ideals, concepts transcend. They can't be stripped of power, and there isn't any power anyone could exert over them because power is a measure of effectiveness that a force producing a physical effect has over time â mathematically, if linear, power is the quotient of force multiplied by the displacement of an object, divided by time. There is no object, there's only nothing, and nothing is mathematically represented by zero, which, when multiplied and then divided, is unchanged. It works if power is rotational instead of linear too; there, it's the quotient of: (force multiplied by the angle of displacement) á time. again, 0, unchanged.
(Keeping in mind that I have dyscalculia and I am shit at mathematical logic, zero can be both a real and imaginary number, Kunikida's skill is batshit and he doesn't really see it as anything other than convenient. He essentially renders concepts into tangible reality. Like, that's his skill: he conceptualizes something that he's seen rendered tangible before, and then by jotting down its name on a page which is matter, he assigns nothing, 0, a finite point in infinity, and it becomes matter that exists within reality. This is why his notebook can be filled and replaced or destroyed or cut to shreds. The physical notebook isn't his ideals, it's just full of ideals, which he manifests by writing down his intangible thoughts and introspection so that he might then assign them a finite point in himself as the tangible embodiment of his ideals.)
(In Osamu Dazai's Entrance Exam, Kunikida defines his skill by its limitations, which prevent it from the seemingly undefined, limitless capacity that Dazai possesses. But, like, could Kunikida theoretically create a finite time singularityâ which is what happens when time is defined and divided by zero? It's cute that he was studying mathematics and sciences.)
His body can't house his ideals because emptiness, nothing, ideals, concepts, perhaps even faith do not occupy any space. They can't be created or destroyed, only conceptualized, and, when embraced and cultivated by someone grounded enough to recognize that his ideals can't be, manifested in the physical act of jumping out of a helicopter to blow up a militarized cop.
Nothing can't be confronted by everything, and everything can't suffocate nothing. Reality can't erode what its own laws have rendered nothing. his ideals, like he himself, are ungovernable.
but he buys an artisan notebook from a craftsman who only makes 100 each year; he's not punk, he's just abrasive, doesn't extend respect unearned, and his writing was marked in his use of colloquial language. he's also wildly pretentious. he's so patronizing; he is mommy, where's that aesthetic for him. he doesn't need doc martens; he needs multiple child leashes.
anyway. punk fanon Kunikida is the same overworked block of dry melamine foam as staid fanon Kunikida, just flipped over. his apparent contradictions dont need to be reconciled or discarded; nothing and everything are in unity as opposites that overlap and exist/don't exist within him, around him, and through him, regardless of him, and only because of him.
like, obviously, do what you want and have fun. I don't really care; i just like babbling about kunikida, and i crave substance. also like. strip your respect from authority figures who haven't earned it. correct your teachers/professors/mentors. disappoint your parents. contribute to the inherent tension between individual freedom and authority. it's good for you. you don't even have to join a counterculture submovenent to do it, you can argue with your therapist at any time. do it for him.
#bsd#bungou stray dogs#bsd kunikida#this isnt serious#like def come yell at me if you want#i try not to pick on headcanons#i just. find the punk aesthetic movement music subculture sooo.#like kunikida didnt stylize himself in opposition to the establishment#he's just rude as hell and impertinent#i love this for him#it's just like. why recreate institutions of hierarchy and performance within your counterculture submovements#like isnt that a little. arent you just like.#does making coordinated personal and lifestyle choices in contradiction to institutions not feel like enabling.#anyway punk is very diverse and spans lots of cultures continents and submovements#im not actually denigrating punk#i owe my vocal fry to kathleen hanna#but anyway. dont resist authority for the sake thereof. do it because they failed to earn your respect#scrutinize them#dont just homogenize authority#kunikida doesnt

So I thought of something last time :
Books who had movies adaptations are getting tv shows reboots.
The first Pjo movie came out in 2010 and the first season of the tv show adaptation came out in 2023 so between the two, 13 years have passed.
The last Narnia movie came out in 2010 and a tv show was announced for 2025 which means 15 years have passed between the two.
Lastly (even if I could probably give other examples), The last harry potter movie came out in 2011 and a tv show adaptation is supposed to come out in 2026, which makes a 15 years difference.
I took movies that came out around the same year and got/will get a tv show reboot around the same period (2023-2026).
Now is the best part ; Mphfpc movie came out in 2016 (later than the three book adaptations stated above). If we use this theory for this book series, we would get a tv show for 2029-2031.
Tv shows are most of the time chosen because it lets you tell more story than a regular 1-2h film since it's divided in seasons/episodes. They're longer and it's easier to tell the plot at the right pace. It would be great for a book series like mphfpc.
Even if my theory is unlikely to work, I think we can still hope for a reboot of mphfpc someday.
Thank you.
#If books like pjo are getting a reboot why not mphfpc ?#unless it's the author's choice which I would respect#mphfpc#tv shows#movie#movie adaptation

wait, is there a dovi/jorge feud???? i didn't know this!! also thank you so much for all you do for this community â¤ď¸
not the only ask I've gotten about this and... look, rather than doing a proper write up that would take forever, I'm just gonna give my top ten fun... facts? bits of trivia. tidbits related to the two of them. quite long tidbits, on second glance. the highlight reel, if you will
(1) that time andrea dovizioso made 14 year old jorge lorenzo cry
the two of them already raced each other before the start of their grand prix careers, competing for the first time in 2001 in the cev when dovi was around 15 and jorge around 14. in riveras tobia's biography, here's jorge talking about their first fight:
I led the way at the start and Dovizioso and I escaped. It was our first head-to-head encounter, the first time we raced each other. My dad had heard that Dovi was a really clever rider and he warned me before the race. But just like in 1998 at Jerez, with Olive, I acted like a dummy and pushed for the whole race. I kept looking behind me to see the bastard still there! It was impossible to shake him off, he was watching me the whole race until the last lap. Three comers from the end I could hear his engine getting closer and I saw his shadow to my left, but he didn't come past. I thought to myself "This guy is going to try something in a second!" I decided I had to on a tighter line and close the door. Sure enough, Dovi went wider through that comer and then dived up the inside. I didn't close the door in time and tried to get in his slipstream, desperately hoping I could get him the next corner, but I ran wide and he won. I came back in tears, I didn't even want to go to the podium, I felt so cheated. I'd been on the limit for the whole race and I felt like I deserved the win more than he did.
so that's a nice and positive start! there's something charming about how even fifteen year old dovi was an absolute menace on last laps
also about that race:
'Jorge beat Dovi in Braga but in the previous race at Most, what a tantrum!' recalls Juanito, laughing. 'He didn't even want to go to the podium, he was crying like a baby! I can still see Dani (Antatriain) talking to him, trying to convince him. In the end he went but he didn't want to look at anybody.'
(2) the photo finish
in 2004, they were rivals in 125cc - a year in which dovi claimed the title and jorge was p4 in the standings. in the very first grand prix ever at the lusail circuit (pretty eventful weekend, you have to say), jorge and dovi crossed the line at the exact same moment
(3) dovi's top three favourite career win
dovi and jorge progressed through the categories at the exact same rate, and after their 125cc rivalry they continued fighting in 250cc. they were title rivals in both 2006 and 2007, with jorge's aprilia winning out both times against dovi's underpowered honda. (the general pattern was that dovi clawed back a bunch of points from jorge in the wet - jorge, with perhaps the exception of a few years in the premier class until around 2013, has never been much of a wet weather racers, while it's always been one of dovi's strongest traits.) for dovi's 300th career start in 2019, he was asked what his top three wins were - and one of his picks was from way back when in 2007
I'd recommend the race! which... well, I did in the race rec post - and I can only reiterate that these two kids do not acknowledge each other, not good vibes at all
(4) jorge's thoughts on young dovi from 2008
Jorge has a lot of respect for Andrea Dovizioso and feels that his two 250cc world titles have even more prestige because he had to beat the Italian to win them. 'You wouldn't label Dovizioso as fast, particularly, but he's much faster than he looks. He doesn't set many pole positions but he is always up front in a race, fighting to win. He is very intelligent and you can't trust him an inch on the last lap. He has been faithful to Honda, he has great belief in them. His negative side is that he tends to play the victim too much. He'll say that if his bike had a better engine or if it was a bit faster he would win. He's even said that if he was on the same bike as me he'd give me a hiding. I think he looks for excuses too often sometimes, but as a rider and a person I don't have a bad word to say about him.'
some dovi traits read as very familiar, from how he's a better racer than qualifier to the intelligence to the last lap prowess. as for jorge saying dovi plays victim too much? well
also this:
ER: Don't you think that Dovizioso wanted to be World Champion too in 2006 and 2007? Don't you think he gave everything to achieve it? JL: He will think he gave his maximum but he will be lying to himself because nobody does that. Nobody gets close to their maximum, not even me. He will think that he didn't win because he was riding a Honda. There are very few sportsmen who will say, I deserve what happened to me and there are no excuses. I didn't know how to do any better and I've done things wrong.' That is the only way to be the best, the only way. People who make excuses don't get to the top. I know riders who haven't made it for just that reason.
plus ça change
(5) jorge's thoughts on young dovi from 2018
when they were doing their thing as ducati teammates (bickering), here is one of the things jorge said about dovi:
dovi's been trying to undermine jorge's morale his WHOLE career... even when they were but teenagers... love it when you can really tell someone's been sitting on something for over a decade
(6) "also lorenzo is not my friend"
both of them moved up to motogp in 2008, jorge with factory yamaha and dovi with satellite honda. dovi had a very strong rookie season and finished in p5, only sixteen points behind jorge in p4 (who after a promising first few races had spent a lot of time that season crashing). after that, their fortunes diverged. dovi did not have a particularly happy time in the factory honda team and needed to do some shrewd negotiating to be retained by them for 2011 in that three-man squad, while jorge of course won the championship in 2010
here's a deep cut from 2011, a season where much of the excitement and drama was caused by marco simoncelli alone. jorge had exchanged tense words with sic in estoril, one race before simoncelli was responsible for a crash where dani broke his collarbone. the crash and sic's subsequent penalty meant that the three-way fight between jorge, dovi and valentino became one for the podium, with dovi and valentino eventually grabbing the two remaining spots behind casey. but during the race, jorge had executed a... questionable manoeuvre on dovi, one that did have some similarities to the sic/dani incident. given jorge's strong previous comments on racing standards, unsurprisingly the journalists pounced on this incident in the post-race presser and ask the podium sitters about it. here is the clip:
in this clip, dovi essentially says it was a dangerous move from jorge, but he wasn't sure what jorge's intent had been and he needs to watch the footage again. valentino (who had been the most outspokenly critical of sic of the three of them earlier in the presser) takes the opportunity presented to him to have a bit of a potshot at jorge. he says that dovi doesn't have the best relationship with sic but jorge had done something pretty similar in the race... at which point dovi goes "also lorenzo is not my friend"
which, you know. not exactly a major incident, but I find it very charming dovi felt the need to clarify that, actually, he doesn't like either of them. valentino also adds that by jorge's own standards, surely he too should have gotten a penalty. not exactly a meeting of jorge's biggest fans hm
(7) mapping eight-gate
well I can't leave it out, can I
so in 2017 jorge switches from yamaha to ducati and does not have a great time of it. a lot of weekends, he's just too slow, other times he shoots to the front of a race at the start (typically not great news for the rest of the field in his yamaha days) and then chews up his tyres before gradually dropping like a stone back through the field. at some point that year it became a bit of a running gag - especially when you saw he was the only big name to be picking a soft tyre and just went... buddy we ALL know how this is gonna end....
while this was happening, his teammate dovi was for the first time in his premier class career in championship contention. an extremely close title fight throughout the year with five protagonists until pretty late in the season, it eventually went to a title decider in valencia between dovi and marc. you know, the kind of year where every point counts. the race where marc put a bit of daylight between himself and dovi was phillip island, with marc winning a great dogfight out front while dovi had a bit of a horror show of a weekend. this meant that a lot would have to go right for dovi to have a chance of still winning the title... and sepang was already a match point race for marc
ducati had not won a championship since their 2007 title, courtesy of one casey stoner. after that year, their bike became steadily less competitive every season, reaching a nadir around the 2011-13-ish period. so by the time 2017 rolled around, they wanted this so so badly - even if they wouldn't have expected dovi to lead the charge. dovi had only narrowly beaten out iannone in the 'who's going to be fired for our shiny new lorenzo hire' contest of 2016, and really it was supposed to be jorge who was carrying ducati's dreams on his shoulders. but, never mind, they were throwing everything behind dovi now... no stone left unturned
which brings us, of course, to the subject of team orders. this discourse really took off at the penultimate race of the season at sepang, but was already brewing before that - and in phillip island, satellite ducati rider redding had been told early in the race to let dovi past
here from marc at sepang:
dovi had been in great form all weekend at sepang - and with his wet weather prowess being what it was, really there shouldn't have been any need for team orders at all. but he got a sluggish start, and the race unfolded from there... until eventually jorge was in first, dovi was in second and marc in fourth. in those positions, marc would have clinched the title there
and then, jorge got a message on his dashboard. suggested mapping: mapping 8. pit boards and dashboards and all sorts of boards will feature various codes during races, most of them completely innocuous - but of course they are a healthy source of all sorts of conspiracies. the timing of this one was certainly... notable, and speculation immediately started about how it might be a way of telling jorge that he should swap positions with dovi
jorge didn't end up letting dovi pass - it is questionable whether he really would have done so with what would have been his first ducati win on the line. in the end, he made a mistake that let dovi through so that dovi claimed the win anyway, keeping himself in mathematical contention in valencia. and jorge did say afterwards he was keeping dovi's title hopes in mind, kind of
jorge also said he hadn't gotten any message indicating team orders, and of course nobody at ducati confirmed that mapping eight did have anything to do with team orders
for what it's worth, this is what dovi said about their relationship at this stage:
lovely! let's see what the vibes are like a few months later
anyway, onto valencia. this race was pretty boring despite being a title decider, but the jorge/dovi bits were just unequivocally the weekend's most enjoyable aspect and rather nicely spiced up the whole thing. dovi's chances were always slim going in, given he'd have to win the race and marc would have to barely get any points at all... but still, you never know, right? marc could always crash (narrator: he did almost crash). jorge plays coy early in the weekend about the whole 'helping dovi out thing', and basically just started putting in place...? ... very specific conditions...? under which he'd help:
so during the actual race, dovi got stuck behind jorge in p5, with marc ahead of both of them. valencia is traditionally not a fantastic track to overtake at... so even if dovi had been faster, it's not like he'd have an easy time clearing jorge and cracking on. but they were beginning to drift further away from dani in p3 as ducati watched on, increasingly unamused by what was happening - and the tv cameras were of course kind enough to repeatedly show the ducati box looking deeply unamused. again, they went for the good old mapping eight message, which, hey, that could mean anything! they sure did keep showing it to jorge though, almost like he wasn't paying attention to it
eventually, they abandon all subtlety and go for a pit board message that does just straight-up tell jorge to swap positions. jorge kept ignoring the messages, lap after lap, and he never ended up letting dovi past. eventually they both crashed and marc claimed the title with a p3 finish, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway, but... still. the feeling was that this might things rather awkward inside of ducati
publicly, ducati was extremely keen to smooth over the whole controversy, saying they totally weren't mad at jorge blatantly ignoring team orders. jorge had, after all, explained to them (and the media, repeatedly) that he had totally been intending to help dovi by dragging him closer to dani
Giving his take on events, Lorenzo acknowledged that he ignored Ducatiâs instruction because he felt Doviziosoâs chances would be boosted by having him directly ahead. âEven looking at this [dashboard] suggestion, I keep pushing until the end, because I knew it was the best thing for me, for Ducati and for Dovi,â said Lorenzo. âI helped him to improve his pace by one or two tenths, to be as close as possible to the first group. My intention was, and it was the case, that we arrive at the first group. If he had the option to win, I would have gone wide and let him pass. But unfortunately it was not like that. Maybe in some corners Dovi was close and I slow down a little bit his pace, but in general terms, having my wheel in front of him made him improve slightly his pace. I helped him stayed closer to the front group. âI knew Dovi was struggling, I knew his pace during all the weekend, and I knew he was making the best pace of the weekend just in the race. It was [because of the] help from my wheel. Iâm happy because I was not wrong. If I was wrong and slowing him, I would be very sorry. But itâs not like that, my feeling was true.â
which, you know. is it really that easy to tell how much faster you are than someone who's sitting on your rear tyre? who's to say. dovi did certainly seem rather keen to get past
anyhow, of course there were plenty of fun dramatics post-race:
'our rider ignored team suggestions not team orders' is a great line, fairs. there's plenty more of this from ducati, some excellent spin doctoring - and dovi was extremely magnanimous about what had happened:
the whole thing was pretty undignified from all non-dovi parties, but it was also very funny so who's to say if it was bad or not
(8) runner-up-gate
let's check in on them in 2018, the second and ultimately last year in which they were teammates. remember that 'undermining morale' quote from above? those are from early 2018, after dovi says he wouldn't be surprised to see jorge elsewhere the following season. so, once jorge has complained that dovi had been trying to put him down his entire career, comes this:
so that's something. jorge, dovi and dani have a three-in-one crash in jerez, after which some fingers are pointed but it all remains fairly civil, and a bit later dovi says that jorge's approach doesn't work at ducati:
by the summer break, jorge's results had gotten better, but it was already too late to save the relationship with ducati and they parted ways. anyway, here's dovi and jorge having another go at it:
And while a rough patch for Dovizioso coupled with breakthrough back-to-back wins for Lorenzo in Mugello and Barcelona have now left the pair just three points apart in the standings, Dovizioso refused to back down from his claim when speaking to Spanish sports daily Marca ahead of the upcoming Brno race. âHeâs won two races,â Dovizioso said. âWinning two races does not solve the problem of a year and a half. Lorenzo was not signed to win two races. Therefore I do not change my mind.â When the comments were put to Lorenzo, the three-time champion offered an ardent retort, stating that Dovizioso's rhetoric was proof of the claim he'd made back in April. âI'm a bit fed up with this situation, mainly because when I had trouble and he was winning, I was down there applauding,â Lorenzo told Spanish broadcaster Movistar. âWhat I said in Argentina - and the comments caused a big surprise - you can see that I was right. âHe tried to undermine me, or downplay what I achieve or just attack me. As you can see, I wasn't lying. He's still doing it and now he says my method is not good, according to him.â Lorenzo intimated that Dovizioso was in no position to criticise him, as the Italian could do no better than runner-up to Marc Marquez in a 'perfect' 2017 season. He said: âI think my method has not worked too bad in my career. I've won three MotoGP titles and have 46 wins.â âIn my second year in Ducati I'm usually faster than him, but maybe I should look at his method closer if in his best season, with everything going perfectly, he was second. Otherwise he's fourth or seventh usually. I'd tell him to leave me to go my way and to focus on his own and everything will be better, because when you have an angry Lorenzo it's usually worse for you.âÂ
fair to say that by this point the pretence at civility has mostly been dropped. I'm rather fond of the "lorenzo was not signed to win two races" line, though "when you have an angry lorenzo it's usually worse for you" is also really strong stuff. dovi tries to restore a little bit of peace:
Responding in turn to Lorenzo's tirade, Dovizioso sought to play down the conflict. âJorge has his ideas and I think they are based on particular things. I don't think like him, but it's not a problem,â he told Movistar. âEverybody creates their own ideas based on what they see and how they live. âI don't think he has everything clear in his head about what's happened, but we continue the relationship that we started last year with respect, there's no particular problem. If he thinks this way, that's his problem."
so basically the classic 'idk what he's on about but it's not my problem' approach to attempting to defuse feuds
(9) twitter-gate
there's a few more on-track battles where it's nicely obvious how badly they want to beat each other, with jorge beating marc just ahead of dovi in austria and then dovi beating jorge in brno. jorge's season is increasingly derailed by injuries, which sets the stage for their next big spat:
The row was sparked by Dovizioso's comments to Sky Italia after qualifying at Sepang on Saturday, as he was asked what he thought of Lorenzo having to pull out of the Malaysian GP weekend with injury. "I don't know the details, I don't want to get into this, it's a bit of a strange situation," said Dovizioso."It happens often in Ducati or to certain riders, but I don't understand the details and I don't want to get into it and give my opinion." When it was put to him he was offering 'cryptic words', he added: "I leave things there, it's not my problem."
pretty vague, yeah. but anyway, I'm sure jorge had a proportionate response to this
Dovizioso's comments prompted a series of irate posts from Lorenzo on Twitter, with his first reaction being "Thank you very much @AndreaDovizioso! You are a real gentleman!". In his next post, he went on to call Dovizioso "an exemplary teammate", adding: "You applaud him under the podium when he wins and then... (That's right, he does not give his opinion, it's not his problem)." After that, Lorenzo labelled Dovizioso "envious" and described him as "a world champion... in 125cc."
the podium thing really bothered him, don't you think. their ducati in-fighting follows that general pattern where dovi says something... a little shady, a little ambiguous, where his intentions aren't entirely obvious... at which point jorge goes all in at fighting back and has a go at dovi - often not as much for what dovi is actually saying, but what jorge thinks dovi is implying. which is based on his understanding of dovi, the image of dovi he's built up in his head over the years, so that he is... predisposed to think ill of the intentions of the 'intelligent' dovi who always knows exactly what he's saying
again, dovi tried to downplay the argument, while simultaneously not exhibiting much patience for jorge's stance:
After the Malaysian GP, Dovizioso was asked about Lorenzo's responses to his comments, and the Italian accused his teammate of reading too much into headlines. He said: âWhy should I talk to Lorenzo? I do not waste time on these things. He makes the usual mistake of giving too much importance to what is written, even without the context. "I have not pointed my finger at anyone and I have no problem with Jorge."
if I were ducati, I probably would've let the whole thing blow over given jorge was off soon anyway. but they decided the whole thing was so bad they had to organise a peace summit
Asked about the situation, Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti admitted to Motorsport.com that the Bologna marque has already planned to sit its two riders on Tuesday in Milan to make it clear what its priorities are. Ciabatti said: âIt is clear that the interests of Ducati come before personal problems between riders. On Tuesday we will be together in Milan, for the EICMA [motorcycle show] and we have in mind to spend half an hour to sit and talk to Jorge and Andrea. "We want to avoid similar things to what happened last weekend. "I understand that these kinds of situations can happen. Sometimes riders get nervous during a Grand Prix weekend and on a rainy day, with tricky conditions, sometimes they say things they shouldnât have said."
god knows how that turned out
(10) wow, you guys aren't gonna let this go, huh
late 2020 and jorge's career is already over, while dovi's looks like it will be... paused, at the very least. which is always a good time to check in with riders on how they feel about their rivals - if they're still being nasty you know that shit was personal. from december:
some quality petty material here. "I can't understand his somewhat peculiar mind" vs "he was envious of me since 250cc, but I wanted to give our relationship a chance". note too jorge talking again about how generous he had been in the face of dovi's 2017 successes, and how he feels like this was not reciprocated at all. jorge's complaints don't stop there:
merry christmas!
not the only rider jorge has beefed with post-retirement, but compare and contrast with how he really hasn't been doing any of that with some of his biggest career rivals. valentino, marc, dani - sure, he still talks about the controversies he's had with them pretty regularly (to put it lightly), and he's hardly free of complaints... but mostly it's a distinctly nostalgic tone he's adopting with these guys. admittedly, it helps that none of those three have gone out of their way to say anything particularly inflammatory about jorge. still, the absolute lack of any sort of rapprochement with dovi of all people is pretty funny
bonus: that time when jorge skittled all of marc's rivals
you know how in catalunya 2019, jorge took out like? all of marc's major rivals in that era including himself in one go? with half a decade of hindsight, this was kind of hilarious, and it did also feature jorge having to eat a hell of a lot of humble pie and go to the three other blokes to apologise. anyway I have a lovingly assembled set of screenshots of all three of them emoting in their boxes after the incident, all suffering some form of an existential crisis. here is dovi contemplating the bleak realities of our brief lives on this planet:
truly one of the world's least enthusiastic waves
bonus 2: another one for old time's sake
already posted this elsewhere, but this from late 2023 made me laugh
"jorge came to ducati and thought he was going to beat everything, but in the end he didn't" uh huh
#also thank you!! that's really nice#valentino is absolutely SHAMELESS in that clip i'm crying... saw some low hanging fruit and took a chainsaw to the entire tree#laughs a bit TOO much at that dovi line. a little restraint I beg#andrea dovizioso#brr brr#//#ad4#morale tag#batsplat responds#very lazy post sorry but i just wanted to do something fast... i do think they're more interesting than just a list of drama#real lack of mutual respect... how little they get each other... also jorge's side of that 250cc rivalry is sooooo...#currently still cooking up that jorge/valentino post which means i'm obviously revisiting my jorge primary sources#and the way valentino and dovi get described in particular is... hm how to describe this... this isn't just a sports thing but -#- especially in sports and especially at juniors level you come across a lot of people who act like they're constantly on camera#jorge at that age has extreme sports film syndrome. his entire team also has sports film syndrome. the author has sports film syndrome#they're constantly trying to write character arcs for him. 'like a superhero after his darkest hour' that kinda thing#and that also means other riders sometimes get this treatment where you're a bit? this doesn't feel... completely in touch with reality#dovi's The First Rival who's there to help jorge grow... it's quite tricky to explain because you can't point to anything SPECIFIC#it's just tones and vibes really lmao#anyway my point is I do have Takes on this dynamic but for now. here is just a random assortment of stuff with a lil bit of context#I do love it when you have a kind of primary text for these riders. they're all COMPLETELY different#all with quite funny editorial choices that sometimes tell you as much about the blokes as the actual text itself#fwiw the jorge one was the one where i had the most moments of 'hm i'm not sure it happened quite like that but continue'

Is riverdale over?
I was reading an otherwise fine fluffy novel (Gwen and Art Are Not In Love) (theres a buff butch llve interest lady knight in it) and on page like 5, the author quotes "then you've never experienced the epic high lows victories and defeats of.....the black and white squares". Theyre playing chess. It was sure a Choice.
But it made me realise I havent heard anything new and unhinged in a while.
Now I could google this but then i wouldnt be able to bestow knowledge of this book + quote on you all. The author is Lex something btw.
#riverdale#gwen and art are not in love#there was one other very Chooce quite but I dont remember which.#oh it was monty python women in ponds distributing swords#which fine its a king arthur adaptation interpretation something#riverdale though. that takes guts. i both strongly dislike the choice and strongly respect the authors guts for making that choice#its a lil confusing lol#mine

People will dismiss the importance of interpreting the Constitution because âmaybe we shouldnât care what a bunch of racist sexist slaveowners would have thought 200 years agoâ
But bring up one passage from a holy book that hasnât aged well and people will trip all over themselves to say âwell, actually, in this translation, and if you use this interpretation, and if you listen to this crackpot theory that no theologian takes seriously but that Iâm going to present as established and widely accepted, then -â instead of just following through on âmaybe we shouldnât care what a bunch of racist sexist slaveowners would have thought 2000 years agoâ
#i'm so sick of hearing religious people explain to me why actually leviticus doesn't ban gay people y'all#it DOESN'T MATTER. it literally does not matter if it does or doesn't#i am not going to respect the moral authority of a 2000 year old book regardless of how well you justify its slavery#and people don't make moral choices based on bible interpretations. they choose bible interpretations#based on moral choices they've already made#atheism#skepticism umbrella

oh waaaaah jjk sucks because my fave died!! okay then go back to childrenâs shows or something where no one ever dies at all.
since the beginning of the series it was established that being a sorcerer was incredibly dangerous and ended with most sorcerers having short lives. itâs one of the first things discussed by the characters.
itâs a dark series and that means people will die. âpeople dying = bad and predictable writing!!!â itâs a fantasy series and you arenât the one fucking writing it. itâs not even complete and you donât actually even know whoâs dead or not or who will actually stay dead. they havenât even fully revealed what yuujiâs teamâs plan is yet.
likeâŚif you donât like that then take your ass back to bnha or grow tf up.
#jjk spoilers#jjk#gojo satoru#literally mean it mostly about him#i like him but heâs the strongest. thereâs not much to build on for his character at all#either he actually wasnât but needed to believe that he was#or heâs not actually dead yet#âoh it got so shitty and bad after the shibuya arcâ#then stop reading it.#they established from the BEGINNING that people are going to die#if their deaths seem sudden and surprising then thatâs GOOD WRITING#plots shouldnât be predictable all the time#itâs like just because you donât like something means itâs inherently bad#you guys have got to respect that media is meant to be diverse and that is does not have to be happy or make you happy in order to be good#please stop hating fr you guys already fucking ruined bnha bc of it#bnha spoilers#kind of#thatâs a series i put down and walked away from because itâs pretty obvious the author wanted to kill off bakugou#but him being a âfan favoriteâ prevented that choice#as a result the story is a mess and the plot had potential but now itâs just gonna fall flat

While I believe that everyone can write what they want, I think people should really take a step back before posting the stuff that they write. Because lads, the Pavitr tag is filled with the most questionable things I have ever seen. Even after filtering out most of the bothersome things, I still come across fics that are absolutely DRIPPING with racism and feminisation, and sometimes even misogyny and casteism??
I know most of the time it's unintentional, it's just a sentence or two, but by god, there are hundreds of these fics. hundreds. I and others like myself can't search through all of them - and a hundred lines of racism is still fuckin horrible
#be responsible and take a moment to sit down and THINK#it's literally not that hard. a little research can go a long fucking way#i can literally tell who's at least tried to be respectful and those who just write shit because they think it's quirky and funny and cool#NEWSFLASH- NOT ALL TROPES AND WORD CHOICES WILL WORK FOR PAVITR OR GAYATRI OR MAYA OR /ANY/ BROWN PERSON#you can't make Pavitr (a BROWN MAN in INDIA) be a disrespected low-class man who has no self authority and has to GROVEL!!!#you realise how FUCKED UP that sounds right????#we already have enough of this shit in south asian countries don't you dare glorify this madness on the internet#i ask for one thing and it's for you to have dignity in doing research and not writing the first thing that comes to mind!!#agnirambles#pavitr prabhakar#spider man india#atsv#across the spider verse#spider man: across the spider verse
