filipina miku!! my mom helped me with her outfit ^_^

#THIS TOOK ME FOREVER RAAHHHH #i had help from my mom with stuff like the parts of the traje de mestiza which is the outfit shes wearing #this trend looks so much fun and i wanted to join in.. im first gen canadian though so ive never been to the philippines and only #know thru stories of my parents growing up. im proud of my heritage but there are some things i didnt grow up with that #make me feel disconnected from my culture. so it was nice to talk to my mom abt it and ask for her help with this :3 #the pleated tapis is meant to resemble her skirt.. i had no way of adding her stockings but i noticed the piano key design #so i used that for the saya. the bandana is meant to resemble her hairties and shes wearing bakya wooden slippers with embroidery #i kinda wanted to add the panuelo to resemble her tie as a finishing touch but i forgor ;w; just imagine it i guess #my mom really likes this. shes a little confused abt the blue hair and i had to explain her hair is like that but she thinks shes pretty #originally i wanted her holding the woven pamaypay and fanning herself because ITS HOT ITS 25 FUCKING DEGREES TODAY #but i couldnt get the pose right so i settled for this. i wanna draw her and brazilian miku high fiving ill do that tmrw #my art #myart #hatsune miku #miku worldwide #philippines #vocaloid #miku

If I had to choose an animated character that “I think”closely resembles me, it honestly be SALLY from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". 🎃🪡🧵🍁

She comes across kinda timid, but she is does have fiery spirit and is willing to take risks. The difference is she has no desire to make a spectacle of herself or be in the limelight. She’s content to do things behind-the-scenes. Also the fact she’s ragdoll helps me feel even more like her due to living with both physical & mental health challenges. Sometimes it feels like I need to sew myself back together after a blunder. *sigh*

My husband told me he disagrees with my choice and instead states I’m more like Madeline, the strong spirited little French girl with the adventurous heart. ❤️ 🐕

Both characters are strong willed redheads! 😉 Madeline is more head-strong and usually jumps into action before thinking things through. Sally, on the hand, is more cautious before doing anything and prefers to work away from the spotlight. Can be misjudged as timid or shy. Also what the two have in common is the will to take healthy risks in life.

I still consider myself to be more like Sally though, but it was encouraging to learn that my hubby views me to be a more courageous woman. I couldn’t be more flattered!!! 🥰

I will never get over the fact that Athena’s first line in We’ll Be Fine is “I had a friend before, and he was a lot like you” instead of “you are a lot like him”. It’s almost like Athena is treating Odysseus as the “loving father of Telemachus” instead of Telemachus as merely “the son of Odysseus”. I AM NOT OKAY
