ALL THE REP TV EASTER EGGS IN THE NEW AFTERGLOW MV !!

The first image shows a graveyard that we saw in the background when actors Charlie and YN were walking down a path, it’s the same one from the LWYMMD music video. When they were on a date at Olive Garden (which was included in NBNC and this song has a rep feel to it) YN’s phone has new year’s day playing and one of the rings on her hand is a snake ring. The black and white colour scheme of the heart on the building is the same as the reputation colour scheme. The TS written in the sand was first thought to be a Debut (Taylor’s Version) hint but after the overpowering reputation hints perhaps it means reputation (Taylor’s Version). There was a bracelet in the background of YN and Charlie’s kiss in the mv (which took place in YN’s bedroom) where in the background there was a black bracelet among the pink colour scheme that said “REP”. The paper on Charlie’s desk littered with kisses from YN had lyrics to So It Goes… on it.

"god, it's like i can't even go online anymore with another one of those bot accounts making some stupid, half-assed comment about us." you said through a laugh to the boy next to you on the couch. trevor had finally had a day off from his busy hockey schedule with the ducks, so the two of you had decided what better way to spend the time together, than at home in the comfort of each other while you spent countless hours cuddling and watching movies.

trevor had immersed himself in a round of video games with a few of his other teammates while you had gone to do a load of laundry, as an intermission to your movie session. when you returned, you contently watched on the couch as he continued focusing intently on the screen before him.

"oh, c'mon, you know it's bullshit, y/n. they just say those things out of spite and because there's jealous." he responded, eyes still glued to his game. your mouth downturned into a frown at his lack of awareness towards something that has previously upset you. trevor knew that it was a sensitive topic for you, the comments of outsiders would always linger and keep you up at night, regardless of if you looked at them or not. even if you chose to ignore it, you knew they were still there.

"yeah, i know. but that's such a cliche; some of those things hit deep, whether they're saying it out of spite," you responded with a hint of mockery laced in your voice, nudging his hip with your foot to get his attention, to which you received no response, making you even more frustrated with the boy.

"y/n," he sighed, "you know, no matter what they say, that doesn't change how i feel about you." he promised, stopping his game and turning to face you. as he saw your saddened state as your shoulders shrugged down, his eyes slightly widened before he rushed to your side and pulled you into him so you were now laying on his chest. you inhaled his familiar scent that had seeped into the fabric of his soft hoodie you gifted him, and you felt yourself relax into him, as he pulled you into a tighter hug.

"it just gets to be too much sometimes, y'know?" you mumbled into his chest before lifting your head to meet his softened gaze. he reached forward to cup your cheek, meeting your lips with a soft and wet kiss, your lips detaching like velcro from wanting more from each other.

"i know, y/n. but i want you to know that there is nothing in this world that could change the way i feel about you. you are the best thing to ever happen to me, and i will forever be grateful that we bumped into each other that one day, or else we wouldn't be here." he paused to give you a soft smile, "i don't know what i would do without you, and letting people online get in your head to convince you otherwise? it's not worth your time, my love." he said looking into your eyes as every word fell of his tongue with such meaning, you could feel your heart warming and you broke out in a smile in response.

"i love you, trev, i don't know what i'd do without you either, you're an angel sent from above. you've made my world such a better place now that you're in it, and even though it's discouraging, being with you like this," you motion to your proximity, "it makes me feel like they fade to nothing when i look at you."

you lips reconnect with his, with more intimacy and passion this time, as you readjust yourself to be sitting, pressed against each other to feel each other's warmth.

you part, resting your foreheads against each other and laugh at the silence, "honestly, i'd wear your initial on a chain around my neck if i could," you spoke randomly, earning a raised eyebrow from trevor as he then furrowed his brows in confusion.

"you would? i mean- that seems a little possessive, don't you?" he asked, rubbing his hand up and down the side of your arm.

"no, well- i wouldn't wear it in a way that says you own me, more so, because you really know me." you stated with a shrug.

the pair of you look at each other in silence, each of you confused at what you had just said, before bursting into laughter as he lunged towards you, carefully tackling you back onto the couch so you laid under him as he attacked your face with wet kisses.

he pulled away from you, looking down with shortness of breath from his surge of energy, "you're crazy, you know that?" he asked.

"what are you talking about, you love crazy." you responded, which only ended up with you laughing endlessly from the kisses he placed all over your face and neck.

hi! welcome to my blog and i’m so sorry things are hard to navigate and research, but i hope you have fun!

your question is a fun question! and SO HARD to pick just one from each. SO HARD! (update: its so super hard!! wow!) i truly have multiple favorites for most albums. ultimately i tried to mix it up a little bit and not always just the classics or if i like the beat of the song. it was still so hard! because the last time i counted, for me, there are over 50 kaylor songs now, in my opinion🫶

ok, i will try to write more short explanations but let me know if something doesn’t make sense!

Fearless: Love Story because karlie has said in an interview that it’s her favorite song and because a long long time ago karlie was in a photoshoot that matches the love story mv aesthetic

Speak Now: Enchanted because, whether or not it was written about karlie, taylor went on to mash it up during 1989 era with wildest dreams while wearing a sequin bodysuit with background visuals just like the lover mv fish bowl scene, and i think these visuals are incredibly moving

RED: The Very First Night because i like to imagine it’s about karlie, specifically taylor thinking about all the times in the past that they crossed paths and wishing she could go back in time and confess her feelings to karlie earlier. it’s a sweet song but there is also a quiet sadness that i think matches some of the timing issues they’ve had as soulmates

1989: Style because, after it was recorded in february 2014, it continued on to only become more and more of a kaylor anthem. from taylor walking down the runway at vsfs 2014 hand in hand with karlie to this song, to taylor including it in one of the medleys on rep tour that was so karlie coded (style/love story/you belong with me),

reputation: call it what you want because the song truly sounds like taylor and the background singers and singing “karlie what you want” and “call it what you want, karlie” and i happen to believe that karlie is the one filming taylor in the making of video

Lover: Afterglow because it’s one of the first times we hear taylor apologizing to karlie in her lyrics (i tied your hands behind your back, oh, thought i had reason to attack, but no) and i think it’s one of the key songs to understanding a recurring theme in their relationship and the fact that taylor recognizes it. which i think was powerful to know at the time. made every next album easier to think about.

folklore: the lakes because it is the first time taylor used the word muse to describe karlie. also it was released a little bit after the album came out and a lot of people at the time were saying kaylor had broken up because the album ended on the song hoax, which is a sad song. taylor released the lakes and it re-contextualized the whole album and reset a lot of the conversation that had been going on.

evermore: gold rush because gold was a consistent metaphor we had all ascribed to karlie up until then so it was incredibly wild to have this song happen in the first place, and the song matches up with the beat of runway walking, even the vsfs 2014 opening runway where karlie is a golden angel

(Big Red Machine special mention): Renegade because i see it as a song from karlie’s perspective, about when karlie was there for taylor during her “darkest night” and i find that very touching

Midnights: Karma because it embodies karlie as this unstoppable force that is on taylor’s side and i love that depiction. also, the song name sounds like karlie, taylor arguably sings “karma is my girlfriend” and that was so amazing to pick up on upon the first listen

The Tortured Poets Department: imgonnagetyouback because it ties together so many kaylor themes related to karlie attending eras tour, in particular the bridge (the criminality of “even if it’s handcuffed im leaving here with you” the forgiveness theming of “push the reset button we’re becoming something new” and “bygones will be bygone”the board game theming of “we lost all the pieces but still wanna play the game” the reveal of the truth “told my friends i hate you but i love you just the same” etc) and it gives me an adrenaline kick to listen to it, and gets me nostalgic for attending the 8/3 show, so close to when she attended.

"What's your favourite colour?"

Weirdly, it was a question Kylian got a lot, both from being famous and just as a random query. It was asked in his social media comments, during some Insta lives he routinely did, or even asked by kids simply out of curiosity or when he was getting to know someone for the first time. It was a question both frequently yet rarely asked depending on the setting and people around him.

And on this particular day it was brought up by his partner, Y/N, as they were sat in their back garden enjoying the peace of nature and absence of disruption, slowly swaying and rocking on the swing chair.

"What?" Kylian let out a small laugh as he turned to his partner. He took off his sunglasses so he could see her properly, tilting his head. "What has you thinking about what my favourite colour is right now?" 

Curiosity—curious, like every other kid that has asked him the same question before—was on his mind, curious as to why Y/N was asking that question; so particular and personal. They have been together for some time now so he found it very random to bring up out of the blue.

"I've realised that I actually don't know," she shrugged. Y/N was a spontaneous person, in mind, soul and body but especially mind meaning thoughts, opinions and questions chose to come to mind at the most inconvenient times. She turned her body towards Kylian, leaning her cheek against her palm. "I don't think you're really attached to one colour so it's hard to guess. So I'm going to ask... what's your favourite colour, Kylian?"

"Okay, okay!" Again, Kylian had to laugh just a little bit more. It was the determination in Y/N's voice and tone that got to him. "Right, uh, let me think about it..."

Kylian had to really take his time thinking about his answer. In truth, the way Y/N didn't know his favourite colour, he too was clueless about the answer—he just didn't know. When he really did have the chance to lean back and think about it, it all depended on many factors, such as the occasion, his mood and even Y/N herself.

The first colours that came to mind were red and blue. PSG and France colours and Kylian favoured both of them on Y/N—a clear sign of her association with him. She repped those colours from time to time yet enough for Kylian to express such pride over his girlfriend. In times of support when she was at his games or during their intimate moments, he always found so much pleasure and contentment whenever she wore those colours.

Distancing her person from his own, he thought about pink; Y/N's favourite colour, her colour, something Kylian caught a sense of the moment he stepped into her childhood bedroom some years ago. It was her adolescent years yet it still managed to follow her into adulthood, from the primal makeup choices like blush, the accessories she wore or even her favourite album cover being Over It. Pink wasn't as present now compared to before; regardless it remained Y/N's personality—bright and expressive, and everything Kylian fell in love with.

But sometimes Y/N liked to venture away from the bright and expressive and found black and white. The combination was the dress code she had for working in corporate, the mix Kylian could comfortably buy for knowing Y/N would always be pleased with his purchases because you can never go wrong with black and white. To Kylian, the combo was a simple reminder of everything she worked hard for and the fact that if they were both dressed in white and black, she would gracefully outdress him.

Though the colour grey also remained a strong contender as his favourite. It was her cosy colour, their cosy colour. Whenever the couple were lounging together at home, whenever it was game night with family and friends – all in sweats, beanies and hoodies galore, setting the tone right for movie nights, a lazy day or a walk around the neighbour. In simple, perfect for their domestic leisure time together, where the focus was on one another and they could kiss and mess around as they pleased.

And just like red and blue, Kylian really loved green and yellow on Y/N. Nature's colours, and suited her perfectly—always and currently. The green grass in their back garden resting softly against her whenever she sat in it, the afternoon sun complimenting her skin complexion far more than enough, her green and yellow sundress highlighting her natural figure that only Kylian got to see and know truly.

"Honestly, I don't have one," Kylian exhaled deeply, shrugging with a smile, "Like, every colour works for me." i like every colour because they work so well for you.

Y/N's face settled into a frown, unimpressed. Was it wrong for her to expect more from such a simple question? "That's such a boring answer." She glanced around quickly before her eyes landed on Kylian's vest. "I'm just going to say it's white."

"Then I guess it's white," Kylian rolled his eyes before bringing Y/N closer to him, allowing the two to continue swaying and rocking in the swing chair as they shared a few laughs together. 

And Kylian didn't feel the need to argue with Y/N's words. His favourite colour was red, blue, pink, black, white, grey, green, yellow—if anyone was to ask him sometime soon or later, he could say one, a few or maybe even all of them. It didn't matter when they all suited his girlfriend just right.

assigning each of the bad kids a taylor swift era because i am feeling deprived of tswift content now that she's on break from the eras tour

Kristen: Fearless. I can't even explain why, but to me that album is just so sunny and in my mind it fits Kristen perfectly. I think maybe it's because Fearless was one of the first album I ever really loved, then when I was older the rerecording is what got me back into tswift and I can totally see Kristen going through a similar journey with it where maybe she loves it as a kid but then stops listening to it as she distances herself from her childhood/family, only to fall in love with it again later on. Also I feel like the country vibes fit her well. (She would also LOVE betty but she would pretend it's a lesbian anthem)

Gorgug: Ok this feels controversial but he's a Lover stan. I just fully belive that to his core Gorgug is a lover not a hater and he would un ironically love Lover. Like to me that album is all about having gone through some bad shit and choosing to only carry forward the best of it? And that fits with my perception of Gorgug. ALSO the end of afterglow 'I want to be defined by the things that I love, not the things that I hate, or the things that haunt me in the middle of the night' just feels very Gorgug coded to me dont ask me why. However if you've seen any of my other posts about music and the bad kids you know that I wholeheartedly believe Gorgug loves all music so I think he'd be hard pressed to choose a favourite album.

Riz: Midnights. And not just because this kid never sleeps. Bassically I really couldn't decide which album he would listen to because none of them really fit, but then I started thinking about specific lyrics and I think Midnights has the most that he could relate to. I mean 'no one wanted to play with me as a little kid so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since' is about him. You can't change my mind. I do think though that Riz is definitely more invested in all the easter eggs and firguring out which album is coming next over actually listening to her music. Like he would for sure be among the first to figure out all her clues.

Fabian: 1989 and Folklore. I fully to the bottom of my heart belive that until his sophmore year Fabian would exclusivly be listening to pop music, sea shanties, and weird elven music. So obviously he would love the greatest pop album ever made. He wouldn't listen to Folklore until post sophmore character development. Also he would For Sure learn the choreography for the dance in the background of Dress on the Rep tour and recreat it perfectly using his sheet.

Fig: Speak Now. I mean do I even need to explain this? It's the perfect album for Fig. It's the kind of thing she would have loved when she was in her Preppy Cheerleader phase, but it has just enough of that pop punk influence that I feel like she could still appreciate it when she's older. I feel like she would definitly take issue with some of the misogynistic lyrics used in some of the songs, and would be all for the lyric change in Better Than Revenge. Also as I've mentioned many times before, Fig would love Paramore, and would LOVE Castles Crumbling. Like you're going to sit here and tell me that lines like 'They used to cheer when they saw my face, Now I fear I have fallen from grace' + 'Their faith was strong, but I pushed it too far, I held that grudge 'til it tore me apart' + 'Ones I loved tried to help, so I ran them off, And here I sit alone, behind walls of regret' + 'People look at me like I'm a monster, Now they're screaming at the palace front gates, used to chant my name, Now they're screaming that they hate me, Never wanted you to hate me' weren't written by Figueroth Faeth? I also just think songs like Never Grow Up and Long Live would perfectly fit with her not so secret sentimental streak.

Adaine: Evermore and Folklore. I think theres just a sort of elegence to these albums that really reminds me of Adaine. I also think theres so much vulnerability in them and a lot of the songs touch on feelings of not being good enough for others (mirrorball, tolerate it, this is me trying, right where you left me) that I think she could relate to not from a romantic relationship standpoint but from all the expectations placed on her by her parents. I also think that although these are probably the most low key of tswifts albums, they have some good angry songs (no body no crime, illicit affairs, mad woman) that she would definitly love. But yeah this is mostly based on aesthetics. Evermore and Folklore were albums written with a quill and Adaine is the kind of girl to appreciate this.

Obv it's too difficult to choose just one favourite mechanisms, but probably The Toy Soldier, it means so much to me and it's so weird and complex I just love it sm (it was my first cosplay that I wore in public). Also Nastya, I love her story and she's so beautiful. Ivy is interesting too, I kin her a bit (I love books and have a funny memory). And Jonny obv. He's just Jonny and he lives in my heart (a real flesh heart luckily) rent free.

mY FAV ALBUM IS HIGH NOON OVER CAMELOT, I HAVE BEEN SO OBSESSED WITH IT FOR A YEAR NOW. I love cowboys and a wholesome queer rep, the best ever honestly, it helped me figure out my own sexuality and I love drawing the characters (though I don't have much time to do that. The space station is so interesting and I spent weeks researching about it <3.

My favourite song is Blood and Whiskey ( I love the Pendragons yes.) And it was also my first song in the spotify wrapped. I also love Loki (shoutout to Tim for his awesome voice), Rose Red, A Mad Tea Party and Stranger. (And also Lil Lemon, I wish they'd used the melody for a different song)

Chloe et al bugs me because I can't remember all the names in the title but it does have some lines which have lived in my head since I heard it the first time. "Could it be enough to just float in your orbit Can we watch our phantoms like watching wild horses Cooler in theory but not if you force it To be, it just didn't happen" and "I changed into goddesses, villains and fools Changed plans and lovers and outfits and rules All to outrun my desertion of you And you just watched it"

like it's probably one of her most relatable songs easily.

There are sooooooo many lines I love in this one, including the ones you mention.

(I think I posted this back when the album came out, but I love the “changed into goddesses, villains and fools” because my brain went 1989 (pop queen) -> Rep (public enemy) -> Lover (hopeless romantic).

The chorus is so heartbreaking because it really is, “I’m addicted to the ‘if only’” The admission that all the person would have to do is say “I loved the person you were and you never needed to change for me to love you” being enough to break her? Oof. And relatable.

I think my favourite part might be:

If the glint in my eye traced the depths of your sigh Down that passage in time Back to the moment I crashed into you Like so many wrecks do Too impaired by my youth To know what to do

Just because of the way she sings it, and because I love her water/shipwreck metaphors. There’s something about “too impaired by my youth to know what to do” just hits me right in the gut. And doesn’t that say it all? The demons of her past (or her sheer inexperience, depending on how you take it) left her ill-equipped to know how to handle this moment.

It was also one of my surprise songs so it’s extra special to me now too. ❤️

(Also the title is a mouthful and I stick to Chloe or Sam lol.)

Absolutely cooked, but looking back, not that bad

Very powerful. Live in fear if we ever properly reunite again (the last big thing was July 2020 iykyk) bc we have reach everywhere and it never leaves our souls

Ahead of its time, but also an exact summary of 2012–2014

The solos who fight are the worst please fucking chill

The best fandom ever when it comes to tagging fics I won’t be debating this

Larries still exist in 2024 I can’t believe it either and they are the blueprint for all toxic shipping culture. Larries get a 1/10 and that 1 is for the good au fics only

5SOS 8/10 (fan since 2013, fandom since 2018)

Lots of overlap with directioners so have always kind of just been the smaller version of that fandom

Smaller fandoms can be less toxic but also sometimes 5sos fam is/was an absolute mess for no reason at all

Has been much more toxic since 2020 onwards because the guys have lives and people get way too bored

Some fans with directioner roots can’t comprehend that the band actually like each other and that’s just funny to me

Fletcher 6/10 (fan since 2017, fandom since 2020)

It was a great fandom until the first album cycle started, and then it got bad, and then Becky’s so hot made it worse, and then last year Fletcher herself joined a cult and drove it off a cliff

Currently it’s a mess of fans either forgiving her entirely, stanning Chappell Roan and Renee Rapp instead but continuing to tweet about her problems once a month, or—my favourite—forgiving her when she tours near them

Taylor Swift 4/10 (fan since 2009, fandom since 2015)

Gets worse with every passing second. Rep era? Great. Lover era? Good. Folklore/evermore? Alright. Fearless/Red TV? Tolerable. Midnights/Eras onwards? Abhorrent.

Gaylors will either save the world or end it
