Dang, the writers of the GI Joe RPG really know what's what with the subtext.

[Text in image: Destro is one of the most popular and important characters in G.I. JOE. Where is loyalties lie impacts your campaign. He's best known as a loyal member of Cobra. Having him around to bark orders at the PCs and verbally spar with Zartan and Cobra Commander and flirt with Baroness and Cobra Commander adds flavor and context to your campaign. However, an independent Destro adds the Iron Grenadiers as an additional dimension. A wild card faction out for itself but willing to work with Cobra deepens the political interplay the PCs get to interact with.]

It really sucks that, at least as far as I can see, the general consensus for any of Renegade Studios' licensed Essence20 TTRPGs are that they're pretty rough, if not outright bad.

Part of the problem, it seems, is that these games all use the same system, which itself is very similar to D&D 5e (I've seen lots of people mention the idea that these RPGs were all initially designed to be officially licensed 5e hacks, in that they'd use the system as it exists with maybe some adjustments; at some point this idea fell through and the company had to scramble to come up with their own system that resembled 5e) - to the total ignorance and detriment to the respective tones of each game's universe.

Animal Handling, Languages, Survival skills, etc. In My Little Pony? Power Rangers? Not to mention complicated character creation, lots of editing problems (certain things are referenced in one part of a book as if another part has an explanation, but there is none), and a whole host of other issues.

All of these popular IPs deserved to have their own unique, fun, and well-made TTRPG systems that captured the feel of their universes - the whole point of playing a TTRPG set in these universes in the first place! - and nobody seems actually pleased unless they do tons of modifications and homebrew content that they shouldn't have to do in the first place to enjoy something they paid (a lot f money) for!

They should have released the Power Rangers HyperForce system. I'm not a Transformers person, but the concept of playing in that universe seems pretty appealing as an outsider. MLP had a different TTRPG in the past that seemingly captures the show's world better, but is too simplistic for older fans. I know nothing about GI Joe, but I know it's got its fair share of fans.

It's just a shame, as someone who wants to play so many games in so many worlds, that so few seem well-made.

A vibrant Vancouver arts community fears it may be forced out of its building, the former Playhouse Theatre Company production facility, after a city inspection found safety concerns. Renegade Productions holds the Playhouse’s colossal prop collection, in addition to providing rehearsal space for theatre companies and musicians, explained Renegade president Jim Buckshon. Welcome Renegade Computers, Goodbye QuantumRadio and RazorIRC

So you maybe wondering why I haven't posted anything here or on the Renegade Studios Blog.  Well thats because I've been busy getting a new startup ready.

First the bad news:

I'm getting rid of both RazorIRC and QuantumRadio. With the new start-up I wont really have time for either and to be realistic I haven't worked on RazorIRC for over a year and a half and QuantumRadio... Well I'm just not that interested in doing music sessions anymore.  It was fun in 2005, not anymore.

Now the good:

Welcome Renegade Computers, yes all future projects of mine will be tagged Renegade Something.  This is going to be my real source of interest for the next few years, I plan on becoming a local system builder based out of Georgetown, ON and plan on servicing Halton Hills (Which Georgetown is a part of), and most of the western side of the GTA and hopefully all of the GTA in the near future.

It's been something I've been contemplating for awhile.

What does this mean for Studios and Music.  There still going to be there, Studios will still deal with Web Design and Development, mostly the development side for now.  Music, well since I've gotten rid of qR, Music will take on it's Social media role, hopefully in the next year.  We also have a few sites that will fall into the Renegade family but not be branded as such.

We currently host Noblenune.com, Karast.ca and ItStartsAtDusk.com which are three Music Artist/producer sites.

We also host Nunewater.ca which is a water delivery service provided within the GTA.

We're also working on TheNAKMedia.com which is a special project.

So it's going to be another busy year.

So here are some of the logo concepts for the other family of websites.

Renegade Studios Logo concept and network colour schemes!

So I've come up with a quick concept for the Renegade Studios logo, it's a text based logo, I'll probably add an emblem/icon down the road once I've come up with something I'm satisfied with...

This is in no way the final logo, it's just the concept and is subject to change!

As you can tell by the colour scheme of the logo the primary colours of the Renegade Studios website is going to be Black and Red.

The other sites within the Renegade Studios network will use similar colour schemes.

Renegade Music will be Black and Orange.

quamtumRadio will either be a Black and Blue (which is what it always has been.) or move to one of our old sister sites schemes of Black and Purple.

RazorIRC will actually have 4 primary colours (this website will actually be the only one planned to have a scheme chooser) which is Black and either Yellow, Blue or Green.

Finally a decision is made!

So, I've finally come up with a new for my company.

Everyone, meet Renegade Studios. 

What we're also going to be doing is develop games aswel, which we currently have one in development.  We'll probably be releasing it sometime next year for Windows and possibly for Mac OS X as well..

Renegade Music should be done sometime before christmas and we will also be relaunching quantumRadio around that time to.
