Hi, I've never done an ask before, so I'm sorry if it's not good. You don't have to do this if you don't want to, I won't care.
I just want something to do with Remus when it's near the full moon, like a day before, and he's just all protective of potter!reader and won't even James near her. Sorry if it's bad.
hi there! it's not a bad request at all! I'm actually such a sucker for this trope (as you probably all know from this, this and this), that I took this in a different direction to try and avoid rewriting the same plot again [though I happily would!] ALSO I made this background prongsfoot I'm sorry [no I'm not]
Remus Lupin x Potter!reader who cannot be contained [795 words]
CW: siblings, everyone loves Remus, possessive Remus, I'm still struggling a bit with writers block so hopefully this isn't too terrible!
“Jamie please, for the love of all that is good in this world, hide me.” You squealed as you held onto your brother's ankles in a death grip and peered up at him from beneath the table you were currently crouched under with what you hoped to be your best puppy dog expression.
“Why’re you hiding from your boyfriend this time, Trouble?” Sirius drawled as he bent down to peer at you from your brother's other side.
You made a desperate sound in the back of your throat that sounded suspiciously close to a whine.
“You know how he gets this close to the moon.” You hissed urgently; every second your brother was not handing you the invisibility cloak and map, a second closer you were to being locked up in the boys dormitory for the next foreseeable future.
Were there worse things to be than held captive by your sweet, doting, lovely boyfriend? Absolutely, there were.
But- “and what? You Potter’s can’t be contained?” Sirius teased, interrupting your internal dialogue. “Is that it?”
“You know that’s it, you sod!” You spat as you swatted at his calf, earning you a retaliatory kick from your brother.
“Oi! Just because you’re mad at your boyfriend doesn’t mean you have to be mean to mine.”
“I’m not mad at my boyfriend, Jamie, I-”
“Better not be,” your brother muttered peevishly. “Moony is a delight.”
You let out an indignant scoff and levelled him with as severe a glare as you could muster from your place under the table. “If you like him so much, why don’t you volunteer to be held captive for the next few nights?” You sneered.
James slammed his hands on the table top and bent himself nearly in half to glare right back at you. “Don’t tempt me, bug; Moony is a fine specimen of a man and one would be lucky to be shacked up with him.”
“I’m right here, Prongs.” Sirius sighed as he flipped to a new page of the Daily Prophet with a flourish.
“Was I wrong?” James asked in bemusement.
“Well…no, but I’m still sitting right here.”
“James, please.” You begged again.
“Is Remus even really that bad?” Lily asked from behind you, causing Sirius to scoff.
“You don’t know the half of it, Red.”
“He won’t even let James near me.” You explained tiredly, realising your mistake only when your response was met with silence.
“James… Fleamont… Potter, don’t you dare.”
“OI! REM!” He shouted over the Great Hall, and you launched yourself up at your brother from under the table - banged heads be damned - as you tackled him to the ground.
“You squealer, you are so dead!”
“Moony- ow, Merlin’s tits - deserves better than you!”
“James!” Remus scolded then as he simply lifted you from your place atop your brother. “That’s an awful thing to say.”
“He’s horrid, Rem.” You pouted then, relishing in the disbelieving expression adorning James’ face.
“You witch; she-”
“James, grow up.” Remus muttered then, pulling you tight against his body.
“She was just hiding from you, Moony! She was trying to evade your- your… nesting tendencies!” He accused defensively, causing Remus to snort.
“As she does every month. Is that all?”
James made a desperate sound from the back of his throat as he looked at the two of you in disbelief.  “You knew she was hiding from you?”
“Potter’s are notoriously difficult to keep contained and Remus is a smart bloke; it doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together, babe.” Sirius drawled from his place on the bench, still casually reading his newspaper as if his boyfriend hadn’t nearly been victimised by his own sister.
“Dove, you whacked your head hard… are you okay?” Remus murmured at you then, and you grimaced as you brought a hand to a point on your head that was starting to pulse a little bit.
“It really hurt, Moons; I think it’s gonna leave a bump.”
“Well yeah.” He cooed at you at the same time James muttered a petulant ‘good’.
“Jamie, I love you, but if you start a fight with Moony, you are on your own.”
“I’ll ice it for you in our dorm, yeah?” Remus whispered as he pressed a kiss to your hair beside the forming lump as everyone ignored their squawking friend, boyfriend, and brother.
And James had to watch from the stone floor of the Great Hall as you simply allowed Remus to guide you towards the exit by a gentle hand on the small of your back as you offered him a two-fingered salute behind you.
“You’ve got to be kidding me?!” He screeched.
Sirius sighed as he finally turned his unimpressed gaze to James. “You should’ve given her the map and cloak, Jamie.”

Genuinely one of my favorite things about the maruaders fandom that is widely agreed upon:
Regulus is trans. Everyone assumes Remus is trans because werewolf behavior can look suspiciously similar to having a period. Shenanigans ensue:
*During 1st Year*
Sirius: *discreetly giving Remus chocolate during his time of the month*
Remus, in his head: HOW DOES HE KNOW? HOW DOES HE KNOW I'M A WEREWOLF? HOW DOES HE KNOW CHOCOLATE HELPS? WHY IS HE NOT SAYING ANYTHING? WHAT IS HAPPENING?
*Quidditch Locker Room*
Marlene: FUCK!
Sirius: What's wrong?
Marlene: I started my period and don't have anything on me!
James, who started carrying extras because he's a mom friend: Oh, here you go.
Marlene: *intensely stares at them* Okay if James carries the tampons and Remus is the one who uses them, why the FUCK is Sirius named Pads???
James: I. . .what?
Sirius: Abort Prongs. There's no right answer to this one.
*During a Study Session*
Regulus: Ugh, I'm so jealous of you sometimes Lupin.
Remus "Low Self-Esteem" Lupin: Why?
Reg: It's just that. . .well, if your mood is any indication, your time of the month is so CONSISTENT! Like, every 28 days like clockwork. You've never had 2 in one month or anything!
Remus, in his head: . . .is. . .is Regulus a werewolf too? Is this how Sirius was so accepting?
Remus out loud: You get it TWICE sometimes, how is that even possible?
Reg: I know right, it's so unfair!
Regulus: . . .
Peter: . . .
Regulus: So is there a REASON you've been stalking me or---
Peter: Are you a werewolf?
Reg: The fuck? No? Why---
Peter: KAY THANKS BYE!
*later*
Remus: oh my God Peter I didn't mean ASK HIM
Peter: Well how the fuck else was I supposed to find out?
Everyone start milking the comedy potential, or I'll have to write it myself! This is a threat! There's enough angst in this fandom, we need more pure comedy fics!

hey jadee! How are you??
could you write a next part for the coworker James au?? Maybe something like them going on a date or Sirius and remus suspecting that they are more touchy with each other <33
coworker james | ty for requesting!! fem
Remus Lupin is a long list of things, and nowhere on that list is idiot. Nor gullible, nor unobservant. He sees exactly how you and James are touching one another these days, but he’s decided to keep it to himself for now.
After all, if James had cottoned on to his first tryst with Sirius there probably wouldn’t have been a second, and then a date; love is vulnerable in the beginning to embarrassment.
Still, you both must know how ridiculous you’re being where James has taken your hand under the table. You’re struggling to hide the shyness in your smile, and James is all too brash as he pulls your hand further toward him. Your desk chairs squeak in sync. Whenever Remus gets up for a drink, he can see James pressing your hand to his knee as he leans against his desk to hide it. He’s just a second too slow, because Remus is suspicious of you to begin with.
Remus gets up. Watches in gentle ridicule as his best friend of more than ten years thinks he’s convincing as James yawns and rests his head on the desk, sandwiching your hand between his knees.
It’s adorable but stupid. Remus turns back as he walks off to watch you laugh in your seat. “Stupid,” Remus thinks you’re saying. Apt.
Remus abandons James and his new sweetheart to find his own.
Sirius is a salesperson, a rare role at their water testing company, but he does it well when he’s not messing around. Remus watches from afar as Sirius readies the elastic band-pen catapult with a mento, aimed at the side of their unwitting coworkers head.
Remus creeps up behind him. “Don’t.”
Sirius flinches, his catapult suddenly aimed in the wrong place and set loose. The mento hits his computer with a thunk and bounces back into a steaming cup of coffee.
“Remus,” Sirius says, turning to him with a frown, “we talked about this.”
“You talked about this and I listened without accepting the terms. Can we go out for lunch?”
Sirius’ facade of arrogance disappears. “Well, of course we can. Is there something wrong?”
Remus would like to have Sirius get up and hug him. Like, to grab him tightly and kiss him as he would at home, only both of them might die from embarrassment, and so he’ll have to ferry him to a restaurant for a half an hour of their knees pressed together, enough touch to get him to the end of the day when he can make Sirius climb into bed with him early.
“You’re making that face,” Sirius says. “Like I’ve done something wrong. What did I do? I feel a distinct sense of injustice about this one considering we haven’t seen each other since I brought you your coffee this morning.”
Sirius is nice to look at. As they get older, there are some marked changes in their appearances no one was expecting, Remus would wager. Sirius’ hair seems to get finer, his eyes darker, where Remus’ hair is better kept shorter, his middle softer. James has turned to muscle. He’s lean, still, but solid. All these changes, and yet no love is lost.
“I’m sorry,” Sirius says, gently now, his eyebrows crinkling with confusion.
“No,” Remus shakes his head. “No, it’s alright. You didn’t do anything. I’m just thinking about something.”
“Something important, it looks like.”
“It might be.” Remus puts his hand to Sirius’ neck. His hand is very familiar with Sirius’ neck and his soft hair, in the same way Sirius’ neck knows every callus of Remus’ fingers. “Lunch now?”
“Sure, my darling.” Sirius puts on his jacket and takes Remus’ arm. “Let’s grab your coat.”
“Not sure we should go back my way.”
“Why’s that?”
“I think something is actually, properly going on with James and Y/N.”
“He clearly fancies her.”
Remus slows their pace as they approach the doorway leading back toward the finance nook. “It’s a bit more than fancying,” Remus says under his breath.
James is playing with your fingers. It’s hard to see, underneath the desk is dark, but it’s like what Remus tends to do with Sirius’ hands at the cinema, two hands holding your one, twiddling your fingers without purpose. Remus stands extremely still.
“Can you send that to me?” you’re asking. “I can’t keep track of all these files. Who’s managing the account?”
“It’s Cory, I think…”
Mundane conversation, and then, “What are you doing?”
“Nothing. Maybe it’s my fault. We need better organisation on our end, the shared onedrive is always changing, that’s not easy for you, or anyone.” He hums to himself, a breath. “You have lovely hands.”
“Don’t say that.”
“You do, you have… They’re really soft.”
“I think you’ve rubbed the top layer of skin off,” you say, though your voice is lightening, almost thin.
“If they weren’t so nice I wouldn’t have to.”
“My fault again.”
“Isn’t everything?” James asks.
Sirius turns to Remus with a shake of his head. “What sort of indecent exposure is that?” Sirius whispers.
Remus yanks him backward just as James’ head turns their direction. They hold their breath, grinning at one another —hiding in alcoves isn’t something they’ve had to do together in years. After a few moments, they peek their heads around at the same time.
James has gotten up from his chair to stand behind you. They watch as he curls forward, wrapping and arm around your front, his lips at your ear. No clue what he’s said, but Remus can guess. You laugh and move away from James like he’s tickled you.
“Come on, no one’s here,” James says, pulling you against his chest again with visible tenderness, “Remus must’ve gone to lunch.”
“Or he’s making tea, and we’re about to be caught.”
“He left his mug.”
“But not his jacket.”
“Oh, so smart,” James croons, his nose dipping into the curve of your neck.
“And on company time,” Sirius says. “Well, you can wear my coat, handsome. Let’s leave them to it, should we?”
Remus beams. That’s why he likes his Sirius as much as he does, besides a great many shoulder rubs and gifted first editions. He’s thoughtful, and kind, and not many people suspect it of him.
Remus looks pointedly away from James where he’s tipping your head back to hold Sirius’ hand. “What do you want for lunch?” he asks.
Sirius squeezes his fingers. Somewhere in the nook, James kisses you with your face upside down.

coat stays on - remus lupin x reader
Tumblr media
pairing: remus lupin x fem!reader
word count: 1.3k
warnings: it’s just sickly sickly fluff my loves
a/n: @burnthoneydrops encouraged me to post this weeks ago and honestly i totally forgot about it but she’s wonderful and i can’t deny her!! i hope you enjoy, it’s the first i’ve written for remus so i’m a little conscious of it! i’ve also just opened up requests and you can see the characters i’ll write for here, please send in all the fluffiest fluff your hearts can think of <3
- - -
If your hand was starting to feel a little clammy in the crook of Remus’ arm, you weren’t saying anything. The streets were lined with market stalls and lots and lots of people, more importantly, and you were pretty sure if you let go of him right now you might never see him again.
“Doing alright sweetheart?” he asked, leaning his head down to your ear so you’d hear him properly because the man refused to raise his voice even a little, “Still with me?”
You squeeze him tighter to you and rest your head on his arm briefly rather than answering. The two of you had long since lost the others in the crowd, likely because you weren’t clinging to them as you did Remus. It would make you feel silly if it didn’t make you feel ten times better.
It had been Lily’s idea to venture out into the Sunday markets in town, but she clearly hadn’t thought about the timing. Just days before Valentine’s Day and it was packed, almost shoulder to shoulder as you traversed the street. But the 5pm February darkness had enveloped the cobblestones and most of the stalls had decided to illuminate their wares with pretty fairy lights on strings, wrapped around the poles. All kinds of colours. There was a helter skelter a little ways down that was lit up in warm gold.
Despite struggling with the sheer volume of people, Lily had been right that it would be something you’d enjoy.
Remus steers you towards a stall with a blue and white striped roof, filled with fudge of every flavour you can think of. He’s quiet as he stares at them all in turn, but when his eyes land on your favourite, you watch him smile and point it out to one of the sellers.
“That’s not fair,” you murmur, nudging him with a sharp elbow, but either he doesn’t hear you or he ignores you. To get your own back, you signal to the other seller and ask for Remus’ favourite in return.
“Here we are,” he says, handing you the paper bag once you’re a little away from the stall. You’re smug as you hand him one right back. He looks inside before he pouts at you and its adorable. He’s adorable.
“Thank you,” you grin and he rolls his eyes but still thanks you back. Then he points over your shoulder, where the buskers are playing, to the little tables for resting shoppers. There’s an empty one. The two of you share a brief look before you scurry over to claim it. When you sit across from him, you have to let go of his arm and it feels all wrong.
Until, of course, he shuffles his chair around the table so you’re sitting next to each other instead, facing the band.
You’re both content to nibble on your respective fudge for a while, listening to the music, but Remus breaks the comfortable quiet.
“I’m sorry we lost the others,” he says, face close to yours in a way that makes your chest ache, “I know you and Lily were looking forward to this together.”
He’s right in one way, because you were. But it was also inevitable that you’d only get half of Lily’s evening and that James would get the other, something you were thrilled about, honestly, if it meant that during that other half you got Remus.
You couldn’t quite tell him that, yet, so you settled for the next best thing.
“Sirius was in one of his moods,” you shrug, “I think we’ve come out of this one on top.”
Remus doesn’t laugh. You find it quite hard to make him laugh and you used to be conscious of it. You’ve since found that the little smile he does towards his lap is even more gratifying, like he’s holding in a belting laugh out of something that looks like fondness.
He’s doing it now, bottom lip caught by his teeth.
“Right as always,” he muses, looking back up at you, soft as ever. You struggle to keep the awe from your face.
“I am often right,” you whisper back, breaking off another chunk of fudge and popping it into your mouth, “It’s really pretty here at night. Shame about the people.”
“They’re awful, aren’t they?” Remus says, only joking a little, “Although, I’d rather you didn’t come here at night when no one’s around, hm?”
You nudge him again just because you can. He catches your elbow as if punishing you but all he does is run his hand down from your forearm to your hand to see if you’re cold.
“Mr Protective, you are. As if I’d want to come here on my own, idiot.”
“You’re cold,” he says instead, mutters it like he’s talking to himself as he squeezes both your hands in his own. You wonder if he even heard you call him an idiot like he was your favourite person on the planet.
“It’s an evening in February, lovely, of course I’m cold.”
You watch his pink-tinged cheeks to see if the blush deepens at your best name for him, but you can’t tell if it’s just from the chill in the air. He starts unbuttoning his coat, leaning forward in the chair to take it off.
“Woah, slow down there Rem,” you insist, holding your hands out to him to stop him, “I am fine. Since when do you worry about me so much?”
He doesn’t answer straight away but he does put his arm back into his coat. He’s thinking about what to say, something you’ll always let him do, but it means he’s going to answer seriously. It’s worrying when you’d just been teasing him.
“I always worry about you, I think. Absentmindedly. Wondering if you feel alright, if you’re comfortable. You haven’t looked very comfortable this evening.”
He doesn’t lie to you, ever, but you’re pretty sure that’s the most honest Remus has ever been with you. He can’t even look at you either, just staring at the floor and scuffing his shoe against the chair leg.
“Remus…”
“I don’t like you cold. And I don’t like to think of you alone. Sorry. I know you don’t need looking after like that.”
And he sounds heartbroken enough to break your heart.
“No, I don’t need looking after,” you confirm softly, because it’s true. He’s always said you’re the most independent person he knows. But you still wind your arm through his and tug him into your side, “I’d quite like it if it’s you, though, I think. If you’ll let me return the favour.”
It’s always the returning that he’s not so adept with. Your affection and your time and your energy are all things he struggles to see he deserves. It’s mostly why you worry about him too.
“Don’t take your coat off for me though,” you warn, putting your head on his shoulder, “You idiot.”
This time he definitely hears you and he must hear how utterly smitten that word is. He’s your idiot. He has to know it by now.
“Okay. Coat stays on,” he murmurs, turning to press a kiss to your crown and then place his chin there, gentle as ever, “Also, I lied. I’m very glad we lost the others, by the way. Not sorry at all.”
So maybe he did lie to you sometimes. It was a lie you didn’t mind, even if you’d pretend to.
“Yeah? Why’s that now?”
He slowly nods his head until his nose is nuzzling you instead of his chin, and you feel another feather light kiss, this one near your ear.
“Like you lots. Even more than them,” he breathes, and you try not to melt into him then and there.
“Oh lovely,” you whisper, “Like you lots too.”

I heard a rumor….
from Inez
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Remus Lupin x Fem!Reader
G: Fluff, jealous, irritable and oblivious Remus.
Warnings: NOT proofread, smoking, written late at night from an insomniac writer.
The dark winter sky was the only visible thing from the gryffindor common room, as the cold chased everybody inside, four best friends sprawled across cushions in front of the fireplace , trying desperately to get homework done, at least Remus was, his friends way to gossipy to get anything done, he has had enough of his friends fooling around, it seemed as if the world was ganging up on him, his friends were being annoying, homework was harder than ever, the full moon’s tomorrow, and you were out with some boy, at least that what was heard from some hufflepuff girl called Inez.
Huffing and groaning he got up, “What’s wrong, moons? Don’t you like that your girl may be snogging another boy?” Sirius laughs while mockingly pouting, James laughs, too loudly for Remus’s liking, still gathering his things “What’s wrong, pads? Can’t find anyone who likes you for more than just shagging?” Remus’s venomous tone surprised him even, James didn’t laugh, they just sat in awkward silence, it wasn’t strange for Remus to become more irritable as the full moon was incoming, that was somewhat understandable, they’re friends, they’ll put up with him and his attitude, but something else set him up this time, so they just let him leave.
Good, he needed to take a breather.
As Remus furiously left the common room, his mind was running, between his classes and his overbearing hidden need to overachieve, the way the full moon’s closing in, how his condition will always outrun him, the way his friends one day will get fed up with him, he’s too much anyways, his breath was staggering, he needed air, he needed to get out, but no matter where he’ll go, he knows he’s a liability.
The astronomy tower seemed like the perfect place for him to settle down, he walked in only to find out someone beat him to it, you were there, his heart did a flip and threatened with jumping out his mouth.
as he was about to leave you alone, you looked up, eyes meeting, Remus felt like fainting, all his emotional buildup was still persistent, but butterflies swarmed his stomach, “hi, Rem” “hi, y/n” “what’re you doing up here?” you asked eyes filled with curiosity, “Could ask you the same” he felt comfortable enough to sit down next to you, “I asked you first” fair enough. “Just needed a little bit of air, take a walk, this is the closest that I can get to the outside without freezing” he found himself letting out a long breath, “tough day?” “tough week, tough year, tough life apparently” she laughed, Merlin, her laugh, the ways her face looks when she does, absolutely beautiful, breathtaking.
they sat in comfortable silence, looking at the stars, hands nearly touching but neither of them was brave enough, Remus cleared his throat ready to break the silence “I heard you were going out with a Ravenclaw boy” he couldn’t help sounding bitter, “mmm, really? Who did you hear it from?” hope “Inez, well, Sirius, but he heard it from her in herbology, so it was just a rumor?” “Inez is so noisy, kind, but so annoying sometimes” she kept quiet, Remus didn’t push her to speak, “well, yeah, a ravenclaw boy sent me a note asking me out in charms, I said yes to not embarrass him in front of his friends, but afterwards I told him I couldn’t go out with him” a blush crept into her cheeks as she talked, Remus sweared that every time he looked at her he fell even harder, “why did you tell him you couldn’t?” Remus felt nosier than Inez and his friends, but he needed to know, “well…” she went shy all of a sudden, sigh “well ‘cause I like someone else, like a lot and I felt bad playing with his feelings”
Remus felt like throwing up, she likes another boy, all hopes are dead, as dead as he wishes he was, “you ok?” her sweet voice was music to his ear, “yeah, ‘m fine” “are you sure” “yeah, well, I should go, the guys are probably wondering where I am” bullshit, he needed to scream, to punch someone hopefully the guy she likes, as he was getting up she grabbed his hand, “please stay a little longer” she asked with teary eyes, “love, what’s wrong?” the pet name rolling of his tongue like a promise, “nothing just, I don’t want to be alone, but I don’t want to talk either, just… sit there, with me” her big eyes following her mouth pleading for him to stay and who was he to say no. He nodded sitting back down, putting his hand in her back, rubbing as she sobbed.
“It’s just, the boy I like” sob “probably doesn’t like me back” she takes a breath “ I like him a lot and he barely pays attention to me, always running out of a room when I enter” she was describing the dumbest guy Remus would ever know, “it’s ok, doll, he’s dumb, you’re the best that there is, a lot of boys are dying to be with you” me, I’m here, I want to be with you, I love you. that’s all he wanted to say, but she’s down and sad, he wouldn’t take advantage, and he doesn’t know why his words make her cry harder, “I’m sorry, I don’t know what I did wrong” with her head in her hands she mumbled something incoherent, “what?” she gets up suddenly, “sorry, that was dumb, sorry for bothering you, rem, you’re a good guy, sorry again” she ran out so fast Remus could barely hear her last words.
Full of worry he went back to his common room, decided to not do his homework, he’ll blame it in the full moon, and as he laid down in his bed all he could think of was you, and breaking the nose of the guy that made you cry that way.
Laying in your bed the events of today replaying in your head, what else could’ve went wrong?
A nice guy asked you out, that’s great if you weren’t stupidly in love with your friend Remus Lupin, you got shy in front of his friends awaiting for your answer, so you said yes forgetting the fact that rumors travel fast at Hogwarts, especially with the noisy duo on Sirius and Inez.
All your friends went crazy, asking if you were finally over your silly crush, if you were really going out with another boy, wondering when and what’ll happen or what you’ll wear, you tried to tell them that in the end you turned him down, but to no avail, they wouldn’t listen, so like outside was freezing, you figured that the astronomy tower was the safest option of a santuary, before you could cry your eyes out, to add insult to injury, Remus Lupin seemed to think the same thoughts as you.
Everything would’ve been better if you had stuck to your comfortable silence, but nooo, he had to ask questions, how can he be so oblivious, that he was the guy, that you like him, you’ve kept sending him signals since two years ago during third year, and every time you try to stop and get over him, he sends a small signal that maybe, hopefully, he feels the same, some hidden glances, small touches, meaningful smiles, all of this could be part of your friendship, but there’s something about them, just something that gives your heart hope, or maybe you’re delusional.
You ended up falling asleep on you wet pillow with tear stained cheeks.
03:17 AM
y/n woke up, she needed a air, she needed Remus, she needed sleep, she needed a smoke.
She settled for the cigarette solution, but she couldn’t open a window in her room without waking her roommates up. Walking down the stairs of the girls rooms to the common room she saw that a particular sandy haired boy has had again her same thoughts, but alas, this time he beat her to do it.
Blowing the cigarette smoke out the window Remus spotted her, with messy hair, mismatched socks, plaid red pants, a t shirt four times her size that looked like it belonged to a granpa, and looking as beautiful and gorgeous as ever, “hey, are you feeling better?” Rem whispered, scared someone could hear and ruin their peace, “hi, yes, I’m a bit better now, care to share? Just want a bit not the whole thing” ignoring the urge to run away, she decided that enough was enough, so what if he didn’t like her, he’s her friend, she’s not going to throw it out of the window because of her ego. “Yeah, sure,” Remus extended his arm to pass her the cig, hypnotized as she put it between her perfect lips took a drag, inhaled, watching her whole face take it in, eyes closed, eyebrows slightly furrowed, just the perfect sight, he also noticed her puffy red eyes and swollen lips, also the tip of her nose was a bit red, she’s been crying.
Smoking in silence, but compared to before, it was a bit awkward, “the guy, the one you like, who’s he?” She sighed “why do you want to know, Rem?” “To beat them up, I can tell you’ve been crying all night, that’s no good” y/n was getting fed up “are you really that oblivious, Remus Lupin?” wow first and last name, Remus knew she was mad, why? he had no idea, “what? What’s wrong?” she looked at him and god, how can he look so handsome and pretty and cute while being the biggest idiot known to mankind, “what’s wrong is that I can’t tell you the truth, it’s embarrassing” now he was even more confused “what? Wait you can tell me, you know I’ll never judge you” she put out the cigarette and looked at him then took a deep breath, “ well, the guy that I like, he’s my friend and I like him since forever, but since third year I’ve started sending him signals, like the I like you signals, but either he doesn’t like me like that or he’s very oblivious” Remus’s heart broke even more if that’s possible, maybe you liked James or Frank or Sirius that’d make everything worse, as she saw the gears working in his mind, she knew he wouldn’t get it “you know what’s worse” “what, love” the love made her want to tear her neck out, “he’s the smartest person I know, but when it comes to this, he apparently can’t put two an two together”
Remus’s mind was working harder than ever, which one of his friends was smart? “Oh” realization hit him, butterflies swarmed his stomach, was he dreaming, was she talking about him, “oh, indeed, I’m talking about you, Remus, all these years it’s been you”.
Remus Lupin fell to his knees.
“Are you serious, you like me?” “Don’t be mean, Rem, please don’t laugh at me.” “ love, I’m not laughing” he wasn’t but he was smiling like a fool, she was about to cry again, here she was confessing to him, and there he was laughing, “I’ve loved you ever since I saw you on the train, at the start of second year, with your braids and your cat, I love you now and I’ll love you forever” she was frozen, all this time he felt the same, she was grinning like an idiot now, falling in front of him bringing her hands to his cheeks caressing them. “Please, can I kiss you, doll?” “Remus, you can kiss me whenever and wherever you want”, his eyes were full of adoration as he leaned in, her hands on the back of his neck creeping up his hair, his hands sneaked into her waist grabbing firmly, he sat down pulling her into his lap, searching for more closeness.
“We’re idiots” she breathed breaking their kiss, “yeah, but we’re idiots in love” he said making their noses touch, once he had her he couldn’t get enough of her, and couldn’t stop kissing her, not that she complained, she felt like heaven was brought upon her when he kissed her, “I kiss can’t kiss believe kiss that kiss we kiss took kiss this kiss much kiss time kiss” “why don’t we take this to the couch, it’ll be more comfy” she said while kissing his neck, “.or we could go to my dorm, the guys are asleep, we can make out all night” all she had to do was nod to be picked up and brought to Remus’s bed.
James, Peter and especially Sirius had a great time in the morning when they found you in the same bed, by lunch Sirius and Inez had already made sure that all that was talked about was yours and Remus’s relationship and you couldn’t be happier to be finally together.

People Will Talk
Pairings: Poly!marauders x disabled!reader Summary: News of your relationship gets out. Warnings: Ableism Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
It begins, as so many things at Hogwarts do, with a whisper.
You're navigating the corridors after Charms, your mind busy trying to recall if you left your History of Magic textbook in your dormitory or the library, when you feel it—the shift in the undercurrent. The glances are quick, almost imperceptible, eyes darting away as you pass.
The whispers float just below the threshold of comprehension, their tone more curious than malicious. You've grown used to this dance since coming to Hogwarts; not everyone knows how to interact with a student who navigates castle life on wheels. But today... today feels different.
The energy is charged, not with the awkward discomfort of unfamiliarity but with something else. Something that prickles at the back of your neck and sends a shiver down your spine despite the warmth of the castle walls.
As you round the corner into a quieter corridor, heading towards the Gryffindor common room, the whispers grow louder, coalescing into a single, audible thread.
"Oi, did you hear about that new thing in Gryffindor?" The voice belongs to a tall, blonde Hufflepuff girl you've seen laughing with her friends in the Great Hall. You don't know her name, but you recognize the tone—it's the same one people use when they discuss your condition behind your back.
"Yeah," another voice chimes in, higher-pitched and carrying a note of incredulity. "How does that even work? James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and her? All in one relationship? It's... odd."
They don't lower their voices, either assuming you can't hear them or simply not caring if you do. The words sink into your chest, a reminder that no matter how much you try to fit in, there will always be those who see you as an outsider.
Your hands tighten on the wheels of your chair, the rubber warm against your skin. This isn't a secret. You, James, Remus, and Sirius have kept things close to the chest for a while now—not because you're ashamed, but because teenagers at Hogwarts thrive on gossip. And what's more titillating than the unusual? Than a bond that defies the status quo?
But it was never about hiding—it was about fostering something that felt uniquely yours, away from prying eyes.
Well, so much for that.
You don't turn around, but you can feel the prickling sensation of their gaze, like ants crawling up your spine.
"Seriously, how is she even keeping up with them? I mean, she's—" there's a cruel, mocking tone in her voice now "—in a wheelchair, for Merlin's sake. And with everything else wrong with her? That's just... sad."
Your chest clenches, and a hot spark of anger ignites in your belly. You know what's coming next because it always does—the disbelief, the subtle scorn that people can't hide when they see you. They look at you and see only limitations, never seeing the person beneath. From strangers, you expect this. But now? This isn't about you anymore. It's about them—your boys. And that... that makes your skin prickle with indignation.
"Exactly," another girl chimes in, her voice tinged with a cruel sort of satisfaction. "They must be pitying her, don't you think? I mean, she's got that... problem, right? Always needing help, skipping class every other day... And now she's supposedly dating three of the most sought-after guys in Hogwarts? No way. They're probably just doing it to make her feel... normal or something."
The girl snorts, and you can almost see the sneer on her face. "Sure, she's pretty enough, but y'know, pretty for a cripple."
Her words are a slap, colder and more stinging than any Dementor's touch. You've heard worse, of course, had every aspect of your physical form dissected and discussed as if you were nothing more than an object. But this... this feels different. It's not just a commentary on your appearance or even your disability; it's a violation of something far deeper, something sacred.
Because what you have with them—with James, Sirius, Remus—it isn't about how you look or what you can or can't do. It's the laughter that echoes through the halls long after the joke has been told, the way Sirius brushes your hair from your face when he thinks you're asleep, the steadying hand James places on your shoulder when the world tilts too much. It's the way Remus's eyes soften when he looks at you all, as if he still can't quite believe you're real.
The words are sharp, and you feel them cut into you. You want to retort, to defend yourself, but your throat tightens with unshed tears. Just as you're about to speak, a deep voice resonates behind you, steady as the earth beneath your feet.
"Is there a problem here?"
Remus steps beside you, his presence a solid barrier against their spiteful onslaught. His usual calm demeanor has hardened, his eyes reflecting an anger so controlled it's almost more frightening than Sirius's explosive temper or James’s protective fury.
"Because if anyone has something to say about my girlfriend," he continues, a dangerous edge to his voice, "they can say it to me."
The girls' laughter dies instantly, replaced by wide-eyed stares. Remus is not someone they'd ever expect to challenge them, especially not over a girl like you.
Sirius appears on your other side, his arm draping casually over your shoulders—a gesture that speaks volumes of his loyalty. He locks eyes with the Hufflepuff girl who had been so quick to laugh at you moments ago. There's no mirth in his gaze now, only a silent promise of retribution should she dare to cross him—or you—again.
James' voice is next to cut through the tension, calm but with an edge that dares them to challenge him further. "Why don't you say it again, louder this time? We want to be sure we heard you right."
The Hufflepuff girls glance between themselves, then to the three boys standing shoulder to shoulder before them and finally to you, their confident sneers wavering in the face of unexpected opposition.
"We—uh, we were just saying—" the taller one begins, her bravado fading under the intensity of their stares.
"Exactly," James interrupts, a note of disdain creeping into his tone. "You can keep those opinions to yourselves. We have nothing to be ashamed of. If you've got a problem with our relationship, that's on you, not us."
"Honestly," Sirius cuts in, his voice sharp as a blade, "it's pathetic, isn't it? You'd think people would have better things to do than gossip about others' love lives."
The girls fall silent, their faces turning a shade paler under the combined intensity of James and Sirius's words. The tension hangs heavy in the air for a moment longer before they turn on their heels, hurrying away down the corridor without another word.
You let out a breath you didn't realise you were holding, the knot in your chest unravelling slightly as the boys form a protective circle around you, their presence a buffer against the stares that threaten to unravel you. You knew this was coming, but knowing doesn't make it any easier.
Sirius' hand moves from your back to rest on your head, his fingers threading through your hair in a gesture so tender it stings. He leans down, his lips brushing against your temple—a kiss that's more promise than affection. "Don't let them get to you," he murmurs, his voice a low rumble that you feel more than hear.
James doesn't rise from his crouch by your chair, his hand finding yours and entwining your fingers together. His grip is solid, grounding—a beacon in the storm raging around you. "We love you," he says, his eyes meeting yours with a determination that mirrors your own. "They don't matter."
Remus' hand comes to rest on your shoulder, a silent vow of support. His touch, though light, is unyielding—another pillar for you to lean on when your own strength wavers. "People will talk," he says, his voice steady despite the chaos swirling around you, "but that's all it is—talk."
You nod, not fully convinced but grateful for them nonetheless—for their unwavering loyalty, for standing as bulwarks against a tide of whispers and glares. It doesn't erase the pain, but it dulls the edge, makes it bearable.
With each step towards the Gryffindor common room, a strange sense of relief washes over you. It's not perfect, far from it, but there's a reassurance in knowing you're not alone. You have them, and maybe for now, that's enough.
Let them talk. You have your boys, and that's all you need.

It was Christmas Eve, snow was falling, the fireplace crackling and the children were sleeping. Now Remus never thought he would have a life like this because of his furry little problem but he was happy that he was proven wrong. Y/N Lupin, once Y/N Potter, had been his wife for nearly 10 years, the two of them getting married right after graduating Hogwarts. James was always their biggest advocate and number one supporter no matter what.
They usually spent Christmas together, at James and Lily’s house so the kids could all be together. Being with family was the most important thing to Y/N, she always had someone with her when she was running errands or doing some housework. She was never alone so of course she wanted to spend the holidays surrounded by loved ones. James offered to host because, simply put, his house was bigger and could hold more people easier, thanks to professionally playing quidditch.
All of the adults in the house were still awake, rushing around to get last minute gifts into the house or wrapped up with pretty paper to be put under the tree and torn open a few hours later. James and Lily had just finished up putting Harry’s things under the tree before calling it a night and going to bed themselves. This left Y/N and Remus alone and awake, wrapping the last of their childrens’ gifts.
They could do it with magic but both of them preferred the muggle way, wrapping the gifts by hand. That's why it usually took them twice as long to get everything wrapped and put away. This was their routine every Christmas Eve: wrap the presents together, put them under the tree and spend some quiet time together, knowing everyone was sound asleep.
As they finished putting the gifts under the tree, they took the time to just hold each other and watch the snow fall outside the window, just enjoying each other’s company. Y/N also never thought that she would have a life like she does now, she never thought that Remus reciprocated her feelings. She never thought she was good enough for him but to him, she was more than enough. She was the love of his life, the one person that he would protect with every fiber of his being. Once the kids came along, he knew that he would never give this life up for anything. He would kill for his family, he would sacrifice himself for his family because he knew that they would do the same.
They watched as the sun began to rise, the birds chirping outside, the footsteps of the kids running down the stairs followed by James and Lily’s lazy ones. When James took notice of his sister and his friend, he smiled sleepily knowing exactly what had occurred. “You two never went to sleep, did you?” He asked the pair.
“No, we stayed up watching the snow. Lost track of time. Happy Christmas James,” His sister responded, smiling right back at her big brother.
“Happy Christmas Y/N.”
“Mummy, daddy, can we open our gifts now?”  The youngest Lupin boy asked innocently as he hugged her leg.
“Go on then, they aren’t going to open themselves,” Remus teased as he ruffled his son's hair.
With the proper go ahead, the three children tore into their gifts, paper flying all over the place. The parents huddled together, watching the delight in their children’s eyes as they took in all of their new toys and clothes. Little Harry was especially excited to see his very own broom gifted by his aunt Y/N and uncle Moony. This was the life that they wanted to live and enjoyed every second of it.
“Happy Christmas my love,” Remus said quietly to his wife as he handed her a small wrapped box.
“Happy Christmas Remmy,” She replied, handing him his gift. The two of them opened them together as the kids all giggled in the background. Remus had given her a gorgeous necklace that held two interlocking hearts that held their initials. Y/N had given him a new sweater, one he had been eyeing up the last time they went out to the shops together. “There’s something else under the sweater,” She hinted to him.
So he took out the sweater to reveal an ultrasound picture. “You’re kidding? Please tell me this isn’t a joke,” He had a wide smile on his scarred face, excited at the fact that they were bringing another kid into the world.
“It’s not. We’re having another baby!” She exclaimed, James and Lily immediately ending their conversation as they overheard. Remus engulfed his wife into a tight hug, lifting her off of the ground as he laughed happily.
The whole house was overjoyed with the news, everyone smiling big and giving hugs wherever they could. It was a typical Lupin-Potter Christmas.

It; Remus Lupin 🦟
summary: remus is the feral swamp animal you fed that keeps coming back (18+)
word count: ~2K
warnings: explicit sexual content—MDNI, fem!r, fingering, oral (both parties), unprotected piv, squirting(ish), religious content (mentions of god, sin, etc.), southern!remus, southern!r, remus is unwashed and unhoused (and also the poorest little meow meow of all time)
authors note: if u couldn’t tell, this is based on it will come back by hozier
Remus said he wanted you breathing, so he never came at night. Never, though you wanted him to, and he left long before dusk. You knew he’d rather not come at all, or rather he never met you, but you didn’t care. What he insisted was sin usually made you feel the best you ever had, and you weren’t repenting.
You thought sin could be beautiful sometimes. Remus certainly was, and he insisted something was wrong with him—in the head, in the body. The way he talked about himself made him sound like a sticky bog mud, sucking unsuspecting people down to be ‘gator food; like any day soon he’d sink his teeth into you and drag you off into the woods.
Still you waited for him. Every day was his last, and every morning he crawled pale-faced onto your back step, a heat wilder than a Louisiana summer in his eyes.
He didn't have to speak, but he’d recant anyways, eating words he’d said only hours before. His big hands would claw at the threshold, like he was undone from being away from you so long, and his deep voice would settle between your thighs.
“Won't you let me in, Sugar? Missed you somethin’ awful last night.”
Lacerations colored his face, some new and some old. You’d have found the fucker that made them if they didn’t give you an excuse to be closer to Remus.
“Don’t know why you leave at all, if you come back lookin’ this way, honey,” you cooed, ushering him inside.
He tended to track mud in, but you didn’t mind. When Remus first came and went, you had a hard time figuring it was real, but an hour on your knees made you believe again.
You sat Remus on the edge of your tub.
“Easier to see you when it’s light,” he replied. “The dark’s the only thing that’ll take you away from me.”
Carting antiseptics and cotton his way, you landed just beside him, dumping the supplies onto the toilet.
“Y’know there’s such thing as a lamp, don’t you baby?” He hung his head, but you pushed it back up, fingers lost in his matted hair. “Let light shine out of darkness, he said.”
“Stop,“ he chided softly, his eyes fluttering shut. You leaned in to kiss his weary cheek, your lips coming away sticky with his copper blood. It was tangy on your tongue when you cleaned it off, earthy. You went back in for seconds.
Remus groaned as you licked a stripe over a gash by his eye. In pain or in pleasure, you weren’t sure, but you thought he liked it either way.
“This won’t end well for ya,” he croaked. Your tongue laved over a shallow cut on his throat, sucked. “I ain’t—ah—ain’t no good.”
His breath came heavy all the time, but it kicked up something awful when you were on him, when he was in you. You were working up to that, shimmying his shirt up to suck all the way down his slender torso.
“W’bout you,” you said into the hair on his navel. “It don’t bother you, endin’ up alone?”
A stunted breath escaped him, barely contained, as you slid to your knees. When your fingers weaseled under his peeling belt, Remus caught your wrists, eyes on yours.
“I’ll always end up alone.” He swallowed. “The question is if I’ll be a killer or not.”
There was that word. Killer. It was like a third party to the light-switch relationship you had with Remus.
“What difference does it make if you are,” you ask.
The leather folded out of the buckle, and he didn’t stop you. His eyes hid away again.
“Get up.”
“Y’already said God won’t forgive you, right?” You pulled him out of his ratty boxers, holding him firmly by the base. “What’s one more sin…?”
“This ain’t about God, sugar.” His hands were still caging your wrists, but they shook with restraint, and tightened when you suckled on the head of his cock.
“What, then?” You prodded, and then took him into your mouth. A whimper scraped out of him, lecherous and disturbed, and you drank it in.
“‘S ‘bout…your smile,” he whined, “on the backs of my eyelids when I go t’—to sleep.”
You hummed around him, pushing him into the back of your throat and swallowing. He struggled to continue.
“‘S about my—ah—my guilt, followin’ me like a ghost.”
Remus was shaking like a leaf, hands leaving your wrists to white-knuckle the tub. You came up for air, staring up as you played with him.
“God’s made a lotta evil things, Remus, but love ain’t one of ‘em.” Leaning back down, you kissed the tip of his cock. “You ain’t one of ‘em.”
As you blew on his slicked length, Remus squirmed and panted.
“It ain’t the love that scares me, it’s—‘s the lust, the—“ His leg spasmed and he doubled over, mouth breathing hot and shaken over your hairline. “When I see you, I wanna—I want—“
You shushed him, reaching a hand over his neck to scratch and rub the space there.
“I know,” you assured him, “I know.”
His head rocked a shake against yours, and he moaned in despair as you let go of his cock. Looking up, you took Remus’ face into your hands and pressed your forehead to his.
“Are ya gonna waste me,” you pressed, nipping at his bottom lip. “Go to hell in vain?”
Remus’ nostrils flared, his tortured brows settling. Then he was lowering himself to the floor and laying you out on the bathroom tile. You knew what he was thinking—there was no time to slither into bed, no need. The sun was Remus’ minister, and it was closer to dying than the minute before.
He crawled over you, prowling and hungry, and didn’t waste a second with your clothing. He always said he wanted you as you came, no dress-up or makeover. He was a creature of priority, and his time felt much better spent sucking between your thighs than staring at them.
His tongue swept in and out of your sopping hole, cleansing you and then ruining you all over again. The stubble on his face was surely leaving burns on the soft inner skin of your legs, but it felt right. Your combined dissolution only made you cry louder, made him press harder to your navel to keep you down.
“Remus,” you whined, closing your thighs over his head. He only groaned and smiled, finally finding some release from his aching hopelessness.
“I’m starvin’, sugar,” he panted into you, pressing his bruised nose into your folds. “Gimme something worth payin’ for.”
You arched and writhed, the tile warming underneath you as you begged Remus not to stop. His thick fingers pushed into you, pressing up into your ribbed walls as he sucked your clit cruelly, and you fell apart. You reached down to hold his head in place, pulling his hair, and Remus moaned into you. The vibrations topped what you thought was already insurmountable pleasure, and your eyes rolled back, mouth hanging open.
When you came to, Remus was still between your legs, relentlessly stuffing your wetness back into you. His tongue was like sandpaper on your clit suddenly, and shocks rolled through your body.
“Uh-uh,” you shook your head, grasping at his hair.
“Uh-huh,” Remus moaned into you, making you moan in return.
“Rem—uh—please,” you wailed, “please, please—fuck me before you have to go.”
Remus laid his forearm over your stomach and sucked harder. A tear slid down the side of your face, overstimulation pushing you to incoherence.
“Remus—Remus, please. B’fore the sun goes down,” you sobbed, desperate.
Remus breathed a laugh.
“Eight AM, baby,” he retorted, his voice like liquid smoke, “we got a little more time than that.”
You braced yourself and accepted your fate, pouring the inescapable buzz out of your eyes, chest heaving. Remus just petted your hip where he held it still and groaned into your cunt when you choked and shook through a second orgasm.
Lax on the floor you laid, legs shaking and core pulsing. Belatedly, your moans registered in your mind, how needy they were. You must’ve been out of your mind to ask for more.
“Rem.” Reaching blindly, you found his hand on your stomach and squeezed.
“I know, precious,” he drawled, and you heard his belt buckle clang against the floor. He snuck over you, kissing damply on your chest and neck.
“Didn't that God ever teach you patience,” Remus whispered into your mouth. You grinned wildly.
“He tried.”
Your laughs morphed into moans as Remus’ cock nestled into your cunt.
“Fuck,” you swore, “‘s big.”
Remus snapped his hips and groaned into your jaw. He set a steady rhythm, engulfed in you. He was breathing in your scent, squeezing the meat of your hips in his hands. It always surprised you how lost he became, almost drunk on the feeling of you wrapped around him.
You were a goner, too, nails scratching down Remus’ back every time his pubic bone grinded onto your swollen clit. It only spurred his thrusts faster, grunts escaping him in tight gusts.
“C’mon,” he rasped, “c’mon, sugar, please.”
He was close, his voice tense and his abdomen tensing over yours. You hiked up a leg and he took it into his own hand, propping it up for you. You were spread wide for him, your cunt suctioning and gushing around him lewdly, and his cock only felt bigger. It might’ve been prodding at your stomach, and when his met yours with every slap of his hips it squeezed at your bladder.
“Oh, God,” you whimpered, head falling back.
Remus knew not to fix something that wasn’t broken. He kept his angle and pace as best he could until your feet curled.
“Want ya, sugar.” He was untethered, whining and consumed. “Can’t letcha go—I can’t.”
Enraptured, you held Remus tight as you shook and twitched against your will, a mess of fluids soaking the hair at the base of his cock. Remus followed immediately, grinding mindlessly into your gripping cunt and howling into your neck.
You stayed glued together as you both panted, his cock softening in you. Neither of you liked to escape the feeling sooner than you had to, so you basked on the bathroom floor for a long while before washing up.
Remus always stayed for lunch, and you always cleaned him up, and you always let him shower and sleep as he wished. Your bed was an obvious option, but he wouldn’t lay in it; wouldn’t even look at it, most days. He took the couch, if anything, and he wouldn’t hear your admonishments about back pain.
When the frogs started croaking, it was time for him to leave.
“M’sorry to come back like this,” he said, like he’d never done so before. “Won’t happen again.”
“I’m sure,” you sang with a glint in your eyes.
“I mean it, baby. Y’gotta stop bein’ so kind to me.” He pressed you against the wall by your door, stony-faced. “If I drag my sorry ass back here tomorrow, promise you won’t let me in.”
You kissed him softly in response. “I promise.”
Breathing labored, he pushed away.
“Good.” Remus stepped outside. “Now you lock this door when I’m gone, y’hear me?”
“Yes, sir.”
Sighing, Remus turned and crept back to the bayou, and—like every night—you waited for the coyotes to sing you to sleep.

Prompt 9 - Detective AU
@wolfstarmicrofic April 9, word count 999
CW- Dead bodies
Sirius Black looked down at the mauled body. This case was taking its toll on him. This was the fourth body they’d found. Each one left after the full moon. The press had nicknamed the killer ‘The Wolf’.
He sipped his coffee and grimaced as the flurry of forensic personnel moved around the area.
“Shit another one?” James Potter sighed as he ducked under the crime scene tape.
“Yup,” Sirius grunted.
“Same bite marks?”
“Yup,”
“Any leads?”
“Nope,” Sirius drained his coffee cup and dug his keys out of his leather jacket. “I’m going back to the station. Get them to send me anything they find.” He waved at the forensic guys and left.
It took them days to sort through the evidence. But those little geniuses managed to use the teeth marks from all the previous cases and find whose mouth they belonged to.
Sirius looked down at the photograph of the mild-looking man.
Remus Lupin had been a teacher but disappeared a few years ago. He was pretty average-looking, apart from the myriad of scars that sliced across his face. But Sirius just couldn’t get rid of the feeling that this was the wrong guy.
Another month and another body. Sirius was sick of this case. He had multiple people out looking for Lupin, but so far, nothing. Then, after an anonymous tip, Sirius tracked him down.
He approached the run-down shack cautiously. He had backup waiting in case he needed it.
He pushed open the door and shone his torch into the building. He checked the downstairs, but the rooms were clear.
He crept up the staircase and peered around the first door.
Remus was curled up under a ratty old blanket on the filthiest mattress Sirius had ever seen.
“Remus Lupin?” He said clearly. The man’s head shot up. His eyes were full of panic. It was definitely him. “Remus Lupin, you’re under arrest.” Sirius began reciting the legal words to take the man into custody. He pulled out his handcuffs and was relieved when Lupin didn’t put up a fight. Sirius spoke into his radio, letting his team know he’d got him.
He had to help him to his feet as he was very malnourished. “I’ll ensure you get a hot meal once they finish processing you.” He didn’t know why he’d said it, but he did.
He bundled Lupin into the back of the police car but couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d just arrested the wrong person.
Remus sat across from him in the interview room, cradling a cup of tea. He’d answered every question Sirius and James had asked him. He had no alibi for any of the killings.
“It’s hard to have one when you live in an abandoned shack.” Remus had joked sadly. Sirius felt a twinge in his heart.
“Why did you leave teaching?” James asked. “From what we can gather. One day, you just up and left. You completely disappeared.” Remus didn’t answer straight away like he had for all the other questions. He looked scared. More scared than when Sirius had arrested him.
“Who’s after you?” Sirius asked, leaning forward, concern leaking into his features. Remus swallowed but didn’t break his eye contact with Sirius.
“There was a guy. I-I-I thought he was a good guy. He promised to look after me but he—he turned out to be a really bad man. He told me he was going to ruin my life after I broke things off. He sent a bunch of his gang to my house. They did this.” He pointed to his face. “I fled. I quit my job, left my flat and ran. But it’s hard to get a job when you can’t use you’re real name or have a fixed address, so…” He trailed off, letting the detectives come to their own conclusions.
“Does this guy have a name?” Sirius asked. Remus’s eyes swam with unshed tears.
“Fenrir Greyback.”
Greyback wasn’t hard to find. He had a rap sheet a mile long, and the kicker was the man had a full set of dentures.
Sirius had managed to get a search warrant for Fenrir’s home and office. It took hours to go through everything, looking for anything that could tie him to the murders. Remus was still in custody, and while he was safe and warm and had three meals a day, Sirius didn’t want the man to be locked up.
Together, he and James checked every nook and cranny. Then, right before they’d been about to give up, James found something.
Hidden in a box beneath the carpet in an air vent was a set of dentures.
“What’s the betting they’re a match for Lupin’s dental records?” James asked, beaming at his partner.
Once they’d found that first piece of evidence, everything fell into place. CCTV footage appeared showing Greyback dragging one of the victims into the alley where she’d been found, slipping in the dentures and biting her body over and over.
Sirius was the one who gave Remus the good news that he was free to go. He’d had to catch the man as he crumpled with relief.
“Where will you go?” Sirius asked. He knew his gut had been right all along. He’d only needed to find the evidence to back it up. But he was worried about the skinny man he’d formed a relationship with. Remus shrugged.
“I can use my name again. So I can apply for teaching jobs.”
“That’s not what I asked Remus.” Sirius folded his arms. Remus shrugged again.
“I don’t have an answer for you.” Sirius rolled his eyes and shook his head. He pulled a set of keys out of his pocket and tossed them to Remus.
“12 Grimmauld Place. Pick whichever room you want apart from the one at the end that one’s mine.” Remus grabbed Sirius and hugged him.
“Thank you for everything.” He whispered into his ear before he walked out into the bright sunshine and freedom.

In which Peter is not having a good night
An excerpt from the third chapter of my second-year Marauders fic, on ao3 :)
This was not how Peter had been picturing his first day back at Hogwarts.
He should’ve known he was doomed the second he’d tasted that blasted pastry. Half the train ride stuck in the loo, all because his mother hadn’t remembered to check the expiry date on the eggs. Then Sirius’s brother went and got himself sorted into Slytherin, which meant Peter would never be allowed to be friends with him, which sucked, because he actually liked him quite a bit (far more than the original, anyway). Then he kept losing at that stupid Muggle game, even though he was the only one following the rules, and then—
Well. And then that happened.
And now Peter was downstairs on the sofa, staring at the ceiling under a scratchy red afghan, instead of upstairs in his bed with his nice soft quilt, wondering how it could possibly be true that his second-best friend in the world had been a man-eating monster all along.
Half of him wasn’t sure it was true. Remus, a werewolf? Tiny, pale, exhausted Remus Lupin, who couldn’t even fly a lap around the school without trembling—a ferocious, hairy beast? It was ridiculous! Mad! Laughable! Remus didn’t have fangs, or claws, or glowing eyes. He didn’t growl, or walk on his toes, or any of the other things Peter remembered from the stories his dad used to tell. He didn’t even like bacon! (And who didn’t like bacon?)
No. It simply couldn’t be.
With a sigh, Peter rolled over to face the other sofa. In the dim reddish glow cast by the dying fire, he could just make out a long, thin form, staring corpse-like at the ceiling.
“James?” he whispered.
“Mmm?”
James sounded wrong. Like he’d swallowed molasses, and now it was clogging his throat.
“Do you think…” Peter hesitated. “Do you think maybe they were…I dunno, just having a laugh?”
Silence.
“I mean,” Peter continued. “Surely…surely Remus can’t actually be—”
“He is.”
At the ice in James’s voice, Peter shrank back into the cushions, pulling his blanket tighter. James was never angry—and that made it all the more terrifying when he was.
“He is,” James repeated, propping himself up on his elbow to glare in Peter’s direction with unfocused eyes. “Didn’t you see his face? He’s not that good an actor. Not even close. And besides, nobody has a laugh about—about that.” He drew in a deep, shuddering breath. “Think about all the times he’s gone missing, and all the other weird shit he does—it all adds up. Lupin is a werewolf, Pete. And Sirius knew. They’ve both been lying to us for ages.”
“Oh.”
Well, if James was so sure it was true, it probably was.
Remus was a werewolf.
Peter tried to let it sink in. He rolled the words around in his mind, and conjured up an image of a werewolf and an image of Remus and held them side by side, and tried to see the resemblance. He thought back over every interaction they’d ever had, every time Remus had ever helped him with his homework, every sad smile he’d seen on his face, and he tried to reconcile those memories with the fact that Remus had never actually been his friend at all. He’d just been a monster.
And then, the most ludicrous thought Peter had ever had in his entire life popped into his mind.
What if both of those things can be true?
Peter was so surprised he nearly fell off his sofa.
Nobody says Remus can’t be both a werewolf AND your friend, the tiny voice in the back of his mind persisted. He was your friend yesterday, and he was already a werewolf then—why can’t he be your friend tomorrow?
Hush, Peter told the voice sternly. That’s absurd. Everyone knows werewolves can’t have friends.
But why not? said the voice. Aren’t they only dangerous on full moons? Why can’t he be your friend the rest of the time?
Because! Peter thought furiously, mind too clouded by sleep to come up with proper reasoning. Because—because he just can’t! I can’t be friends with a werewolf, because NOBODY is friends with werewolves, and I don’t have to know why to know it’s not done. And that’s final.
Still, as he lay there in the darkness, the voice whispered: but what if they’re wrong?
Thanks for reading! If you liked it, you can keep reading from the start of the chapter, the start of second year, or the start of first year :)

Heyy I don’t know if you take requests or not but I saw you write for both HL and the marauders, and I’ve had this specific fic idea that I cannot find to save my life (and I’m a shit writer) so I was wondering about like fem!hufflepuff!reader during the marauders era, but she has like the ancient magic from HL (maybe voldemort is trying to harness it instead of ranrok) and nobody knows except her 😳😳 and she’s friends with the marauders but she kinda has a thing for remus and he does too but they’re so shy, and somehow her powers get revealed, she gets hurt, angst + hurt/comfort???
Hi!!! I don't explicitly take requests, but I'm also not opposed to them so thank you for submitting one! I feel like this is a little more angsty than you were originally after, so I apologize lol
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Icarian Carrion
Pairing: Remus Lupin x F!reader (no use of y/n)
Warnings: Angst, language, sexual innuendos
Hogwarts, 1978
The Room of Requirement was silent as she inhaled deeply, letting both eyes sink shut. The wand hummed against her palm, a constant almost imperceptible vibration that kept her grounded. She listened closely to the chirping birds, the rustling of leaves, the creak of branches. Exhaling slowly, she opened her eyes and braced for the targets. Quickly, multiple dummies rose from the bushes, and she unleashed her attack one after another. The power flowing through her spanned back generations, handed down by her mother, from her mother before her, her mother before her, and so on, tracing back to the 1800s. She’d known she was different from a young age, having abilities to see things others could not, being able to wield magic far beyond her years; her mother was not surprised of course, being the one to harness identical power, and the moment she was able to fully comprehend the scope of it, her mother sat her down and explained their family history.
During the Goblin Rebellion in the late 19th century, her great-great-grandmother uncovered a hidden repository filled with ancient magic. To ensure the magic was never able to fall into the wrong hands, she absorbed it, passing it down generation after generation. Her mother instilled in her the knowledge of how large of a responsibility this was, that this power could still be harnessed by outside forces by coercion and manipulation. She would always need to be on guard, and always trust her instincts.
So here she was, blasting at dueling dummies in the Room of Requirement during her free period between classes. The news had been getting increasingly more dire, and it seemed like James had a new update from his parents on the war efforts almost every other day now. Her mother worried that the day might come when her abilities would be necessary, so she had warned her via owl post months ago to be ready for anything, whether that be fighting back or disappearing completely. There was already a plan in place to pull her out of school and lie low outside of the country should her parents feel that she was in danger. But she refused to run, refused to hide, especially with her friends all eager on joining the Order. The lot of them had vowed to do it after leaving school in a few months, Sirius and James foaming at the mouth for the chance to fight. None of them knew about her abilities, a secret her family had kept for generations, but continuing that tradition was becoming harder and harder because of one person in particular.
She exited the Room of Requirement quietly, keeping cool and neutral to avoid being caught. As she rounded the corner towards the main stairway, a hand pulled her down the opposite hall.
“What were you doing?” Remus stared at her curiously, the ghost of a smirk on his face.
“Studying?” She choked out, trying her best to sound convincing and normal.
He didn’t buy it.
“Bullshit,” he rolled his eyes playfully, “don’t lie to me, you’re a terrible liar, love.”
Fuck. He always knew how to rip at her heartstrings with a single word. She had met the boys during her first year at school, quickly melding into their group seamlessly. They became a tightly knit group, over the years folding in more friends like Marlene, Lily, and Mary. Out of them all though, Remus had always been her closest confidant. They were never far from one another, always drawn in like magnets. She loved him fiercely, a feeling that up until the past year or so she had thought was strictly platonic; ignoring all of the butterflies and skipped heartbeats when he was near. She loved him. She was in love with him. She would rather die than risk their friendship and address it.
Pushing past him to continue back toward the stairs, she huffed. “I’m not lying, I was studying for Defense. Something you could probably benefit from…” she gave him a sarcastic glance, catching his overly-dramatic scoff.
“Excuse me?” It only took him a few long strides to catch up to her, falling into step as they made their way downstairs, “I’ll have you know that I’ve received top marks in Defense every single year.”
She bit back a grin, walking towards the Great Hall. The distant sound of students eating echoed down the corridor.
“You’re up to something,” Remus narrowed his eyes suspiciously, just as the smell of lunch permeated the air. He was always so easily distracted by food, something she never failed to use to an advantage. “I’ll figure it out soon enough, don’t you worry.” He smirked playfully, immediately dropping his crusade in lieu of joining the other boys at the table.
She sighed with mild relief, taking her place beside him.
———
It was stupid of her to assume that Remus had forgotten about seemingly catching her at the Room of Requirement, though hindsight is 20/20 after all. The following week, she made her usual trip up to practice with the dummies again, only this time she had a visitor. The corridor outside the room was clear (she always made sure to triple check), so she quietly whispered the phrase to make the door appear. As she slipped into the room, Remus snuck in behind her, eliciting a swift shove against the wall.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” She hissed, slamming the door shut before anyone else could come in, keeping her palm flat against his chest.
He smiled triumphantly as she backed away, “I followed you.”
She narrowed her eyes, “Creep.”
Remus chuckled quietly, peering around at the Room of Requirement and whistling low in admiration. “This is…something else…”
Sighing, she sat in a chair beside a large wooden desk strewn with papers and books. “I come here to study.” Not a complete lie, which kept the guilt from eating away at her.
Remus hummed questioningly, staring out at the dueling dummies that lined the magically-created forest off to the left.
“I don’t think you do, at least not for classes anyway,” he mused, gaze coming to a scrutinizing rest on her. Tell me what’s going on. You’ve been my best friend for years, I know when something’s wrong.”
“Nothing’s wrong Remus,” she mumbled, heart beginning to beat out of her chest.
“Whatever it is,” his expression softened slightly, “I can help. Let me help you.”
She shook her head, resolve beginning to chip. “You can’t help this time…”
She watched as he visibly swallowed dryly, “So…there is something going on then, isn’t there?”
For a few moments, they stared at each other, standing at the edge of an impasse. Finally, she sighed, and began to tell Remus everything.
———
“So you’ve been preparing to fight?” Remus had paled slightly when she explained her end goal. No matter what her parents wanted, she was going to use her abilities to fight back. It could be a turning point in the war, if only she could strengthen and control them fully.
She nodded firmly, unwavering even after hearing him beg for her to stay out of this. “Do you—do you want me to show you?”
Remus smiled slightly, eager to see the ancient magic she had described in action. He watched intently as she cast some of it towards the dummies, illuminating the space around them with bright blue light before each dummy shattered into pieces with barely a flick of her wrist. When she finished, Remus stared at her in awe, like a goddess come down to this earth. She blushed at the intensity of his gaze, “Please stop looking at me like that.”
He didn’t. Instead, abruptly spitting out a sentence that froze her entirely.
“You’re so beautiful.”
She stared back at him, “…what?”
Remus shook his head, averting his eyes quickly as he realized what he had said out loud. “I uh—I should go actually. I forgot I told Sirius I’d meet him—“
“Yeah. That’s…fine,” she coughed nervously, “I’ll see you at dinner later?”
Remus nodded, and she didn’t miss the blush that dusted his cheeks as he turned towards the door.
———
London, 1979
Sirius swung his legs as he sat on the kitchen counter, watching as the two of them bickered back and forth. “Oh come off it Moony!” He smirked, taking a sip of his coffee, “Let her go, she’s one of the best fighters we have.”
She shot Sirius a wink, quickly focusing back on Remus’ scowling face.
“I’m not letting her go off on this completely insane mission for Dumbledore!” Remus snapped, folding his arms across his chest in finality.
“You’re not letting me?” Her eyes widened, “I'm sorry, but who are you to determine what I may or may not do with my own life?”
Remus visibly bristled, “Your best fucking friend! Someone who cares very deeply about you!”
She hummed, just as Sirius mumbled something that sounded an awful lot like “that’s one way to put it.”
“Well as my best friend, you of all people should respect my wishes. I’m doing the job, and you can’t stop me,” she pushed past him to exit the kitchen they all shared, but not before Sirius could let out a frustrated huff of annoyance.
“Can you two just please, do us all a favor, and fuck already?”
She stopped in her tracks, Remus freezing as well. Neither of them made a move until she turned slowly to glare daggers at Sirius.
“What the fuck is wrong with you…” she mumbled, finally storming down the hallway and slamming the door to her room.
Sirius smirked, hopping off the counter to clap Remus on the shoulder. “All I’m gonna say, is that I’m going to James’ house for a few hours. So feel free to be as loud as you want. Get out some of that anger.”
Before Remus could swat him, Sirius ducked and apparated to meet James.
He sighed, collecting his thoughts before making the walk down to her room, unable to let her leave on a bad note. The mission she had be asked to lead was a dangerous one, Dumbledore had asked for her personally. Remus wasn’t sure of the entire job, seeing as how he wasn’t involved, but he had a feeling it had to do with her abilities. Dumbledore had found out about them shortly after they all joined the Order, but only because she had let him. She wanted to show him that she could be a weapon, and a devastating one at that; one that the Order could use (or exploit as he put it) to end the war. The notion didn’t sit right with Remus, something he had tried to express multiple times to her with no response other than “Dumbledore knows what he’s doing, Remus”. Knocking softly, he listened for a response.
“I don’t want to talk to you Remus,” she called through the door, immediately knowing he would show up and apologize moments after their fight. They’d been friends for too long, their habits and quirks were as familiar as a reflection.
Remus sighed, “Please open the door. I just…I need to talk to you.”
The lock clicked, door opening a crack to reveal her stoic face. “Go ahead, then.”
He resisted rolling his eyes, “May I come in?”
“You don’t seem to have an issue dictating my actions, so you tell me.”
Before he could respond, she turned and sat on her bed, allowing him entrance into her room. Even though no one else was home, he shut the door quietly to create more tangible privacy. She looked at him expectantly.
“I’m sorry, okay?” He offered calmly.
“No you’re not,” she sighed, “You’ve done this before, and you’ll do it again. I just—I just wish you’d have more faith in me, I guess…”
Remus stared at her like she’d struck him. “Have faith in you? Love, I’m in awe of you always.”
Her heart began to flutter erratically, meeting his eyes to try and find any bit of mockery in his words. She found none.
“How could I not be?” He continued, “You’re the strongest witch I know, and one of the smartest people I’ve ever met—and that’s not even taking into account your ancient power.”
She blushed, giving him a small smile as she looked up at him, “…One of the smartest?”
Remus rolled his eyes, “Fine. The smartest person I know.”
She stood up and hugged him, melting into his warmth as he returned the embrace. “Apology accepted. But please…can you try to not control my every move from now on? I’m going to be a part of this war whether you like it or not.”
Remus rested a cheek atop her head, “I just can’t lose you…and I know how determined you are. I don’t want you to get caught up and become involved in something you can’t come back from.”
“I’ll be fine, I promise. The mission isn’t even happening just yet, there’s still time to prepare. You just need to trust me,” she looked up at him.
“I promise to trust you if you promise to always come back to me,” he murmured.
For the briefest of moments, she hated him. Hated the way he made her heart soar, hated the way her fingers itched to trace every scar that marred his skin, hated how her lips craved to discover what his felt like. But more than that, she hated the coward within her, the one that didn’t dare reveal the truth to him. So instead, she buried her face in his chest and squeezed him tightly. “I’ll always come back to you Remus.”
———
London, 1980
Her bag had been packed for over a week, sitting underneath her bed as it awaited retrieval. The war had taken a turn for the worse, all of them living in a constant state of fear for not only themselves but for others. She knew the orders for the mission were incoming; she could feel it. James and Lily had told them all about the prophecy regarding their unborn child, a boy if it was believed to be true, a little boy they were to name Harry. The news had struck her so hard she had almost vomited right there on the Potter’s carpet. Remus’s arm around her waist was the only thing that kept her upright. That night, when they arrived back at the apartment, Sirius went straight to his room without another word, silent and angry. She had sat in Remus’s arms and cried until the tears wouldn’t come, settling for the sweet oblivion of sleep instead. She’d awoken pressed against his chest, Remus choosing to stay intertwined on the couch instead of depositing her sleeping body in her own bed. The memory of his peaceful face inches from hers that morning is the one that kept her moving as she threw the bag strap over her shoulder and apparated to a small house near the Forest of Dean. She thought of him and it gave her a reason to leave; she needed to help save him. She needed to help save all of them. Her non-essential belongings were left behind in the apartment, along with a note for Remus that she placed atop his dresser.
“I’ll always come back to you,” is all it said.
———
Islington, 1995
Remus followed the scent of coffee from their bedroom on the 2nd floor of Grimmauld Place. It was one of life’s simple pleasures that he still managed to hold onto during times like this. As he trudged into the kitchen with a yawn, Sirius placed a mug on the table and smiled softly.
“Morning, Moony,” he said as Remus sat down, offering a fond look of his own. They were both confined to the townhouse, Sirius in all actuality, but Remus more in solidarity; and though the isolation was sometimes stifling, Remus quite enjoyed the domesticity it allowed them. It reminded him of her. Sirius tossed the Daily Prophet onto the table in front of Remus, another daily habit of his being combing the paper for any news or breakthroughs in the war. He still couldn’t believe it was all happening again…
On the fourth page, about halfway down, a small article caught his attention:
Dumbledore Loyalist Spy Found Dead in Ireland.
Smiling in a Ministry photo below, was her.
He couldn’t breathe.
He’d spent 15 years searching for her, trying to find any information as to where she had disappeared to that night over a decade ago. Her letter was still in his drawer. Remus would read it every now and then when the memories got to be too much.
I’ll always come back to you.
He had believed it.
He was a fool.
“Oh my darling, what have you done…” he whispered, hand coming to cover his mouth.
Sirius appeared over his shoulder to see what was going on, immediately gripping Remus’ shoulder in support. “Fuck…” he whispered, “Moony, I’m—“
Remus shook his head, “He knew…”
“Who knew?” Sirius kept a steadying hand on his shoulder.
“Dumbledore fucking knew she was alive this whole time!” Remus slammed a fist onto the table, rattling the coffee mugs. “Sirius, he knew I was looking for her! He saw it all and said nothing! He let her—he let her die…” His face crumpled as the tears began to fall, dropping onto the newspaper and smudging the ink in their wake.
“Remus,” Sirius said softly, holding back tears of his own, “I’m so sorry…”
A low growl sounded from Remus, standing up to launch his coffee mug across the kitchen, smashing against the far wall in a spray of ceramic. “He used her! He made her into a fucking weapon that he just—that he just could throw away!”
Sirius gripped his arm, moving around to hug him, letting Remus release a deep sob into his chest.
“I loved her,” he whispered, “I never told her…”
Sirius swallowed the lump in his throat, “I know…we all knew.”
Remus sniffed, “Do you—do you think she did?”
He sat with the thought for a moment, remembering the way Remus and her had always looked at each other, how they would always be within arms reach. He remembered the night he found them on the couch, a week before she disappeared, Remus cradling her closely as they slept. He’d suspected for years that they were in love, but that night had solidified it.
Sirius met his eyes, a corner of his lips quirking upward, “She did. She might not have realized it…but I think she knew.”
Remus inhaled a shaky breath, and Sirius moved to sit on the bench. “She loved you too, y’know.”
Remus lifted his gaze, eyes red and glassy, “How d’you know?”
He shrugged, giving him a small, sad grin, “I just…it was obvious. At least to the rest of us apparently.”
Remus huffed out a sorry excuse of a laugh, the two of them sitting together in silence for a moment.
“I miss her Pads…” he whispered.
“I know, I do too,” Sirius threw an arm around his shoulders, pulling him in. Remus reached forward and tore out the article, ripping delicately around the photo so you could no longer see the headline. It was just her. The same eyes he had loved since they were eleven, the familiar smile that she’d give whenever she saw him. She looked older, they all did, but she was more beautiful to him than ever.
Remus stood from the table and went back up to his room, Sirius beginning to clean up the shattered coffee mug against his friend’s insistence. From his drawer, he pulled out the wrinkled letter, unfolding it to re-read the scribbled handwriting he’d spent years memorizing. Placing the small photo atop the note, he folded it back up, kissing it once.
“You broke your promise love,” he whispered, “but I forgive you. You know I could never stay mad at you for very long.”
Remus placed the note back in the top drawer, and headed back downstairs to help Sirius clean up the mess he had made.

The Marauder’s Era characters as Uncles/Aunts
James Potter-Black - The Embarrassing Uncle
This man is giving that child ass loads of chocolate and sugar, and Regulus is watching from the side without a word.
Will hear the child fart and will start to tell everyone about what he heard without shame, thinking it’s something cute to say but it’s really not.
Will give you a 2 dollar bill because he thinks that makes him the cool uncle and that’s just even more embarrassing.
He will buy you a toy truck/a Barbie house when you’re 18 and think it’s cute because that’s what they played with “back in his day”.
Will pick you up from school and trip, grab the wrong kid, say hi to an old grandma and get whipped with her cane, cuss in front of a staff member, wear a cartoon t-shirt, etc.
Sirius Lupin - The Judgmental Uncle
Will talk about the wildest shit omd
He’ll be at a family gathering and start talking shit about everyone he can. “Yeah you know uncle Barty? Now, you know I’m not one to judge, but apparently his father whipped him because he fucked a man!” And Lily from 5 miles away is like, “SIRIUS BLACK THAT IS A CHILD!!”
Says the most out of pocket things, like it’ll be complete silence in the room and all of a sudden he says, “…I heard Marlene listening to Olivia Rodrigo, but the songs she made back in her Disney days-“
Remus repeatedly tells him to calm down with some of the shit he says because dear lord-
Was at a pool party once and Regulus got thrown in the pool and he went, “Poor boy can’t even swim, look at him he thinks he’s a mermaid…why’s he flapping around like that?”
Remus Lupin - The Wise ‘Old’ Uncle
Knows the weirdest facts? Like why does this man know how to hide a body (it helps uncle barty and evan at least?)? How turtles look like naked? What’s in outer space? How does he know we aren’t alone?-
Everyone comes to him for facts and studying and homework and he’s just a wise old man who looks younger than everyone else yet he’s smarter??
Will say some stupid quotes and speeches from books/theaters as ‘inspiration’ and he’d think he’s so wise and he just had a mic-drop moment.
Always tells Sirius to mind his own business and calm down yet he’s always being nosy and interrupting conversations with a new quote he heard.
Dedicates every single thing in life after something inspirational. This man is saying the goofiest shit like, “Oh c’mon don’t worry about those things! Hey, you know what I like to say? When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!!”
Peter Pettigrew - The Painfully Independent Uncle
He’s shorter than everyone else and people offer to help him when he’s reaching for the top cabinet but he always denies them bc one of the kids asked him for once.
Perhaps he’s independent because no one pays attention to him and that’s just what he’s used to.
Sorry.
Lily Macdonald-Evans - The Oversharing Aunt
No one knows why she shares so much about everything. She probably saw a poster that was looking for a missing dog and she’d talk to everyone about it.
This woman is yapping whenever she tells a story: “So I walked out of the house and I noticed the crunchy leaves and it reminded me of fall, oh did you know there’s a parade during fall? Crazy! Anyway, so I walked to a cafe and got my order and—WAIT so like the girl was really cute I asked her for her number, she was so sweet and so was the latte! Anyway--“
The type of aunt to order something with you and mention: “Yes that’s my order. I told ___ to order but they’re too embarrassed! Kids these days am’iright?”
Mary Macdonald-Evans - The Story Telling Aunt
This bitch be dropping some bomb ass lore every damn time there’s a family get together/gathering.
“When I was your age we used to go outside. There was this one time where I sliced my thumb in half when running! And then I saw the pope and he blessed me with a banana, and then I went back home and ate a knife—“
“You know, your aunt Lily murdered someone once—“ “did you know that uncle barty once beat me up—“ “uncle James ate 6 bees one time.” “I used to go outside and eat raw fish in the pond and I got salmonella. I could’ve died!”
Is making wild ass hand gestures at the table when telling a story and Lily repeatedly elbows her so she sits tf down.
Marlene Meadows-McKinnon - The unexplainably weird Aunt
Will sometimes approach you and smile at you for 5 minutes before walking away.
Will laugh at something so unfunny and will make a bored face when something is hilarious.
Will cut her finger and drink the blood and start hissing at everyone and will cackle to herself. People start feeling bad for Dorcas.
Will see a hot girl on screen and start barking and growling like a wild animal.
She’s just weird and the kids don’t get it, only the elders do.
Dorcas Meadows - The Artistic Aunt
Has thousands of tattoos that all mean something to her and it’s insane how many she has.
When you enter her house she has a whole room dedicated to her work and she does everything; painting, sketching, drawing, pottery, clay art, tattoos, piercings, etc.
Can look at your face and memorize literally every tiny detail.
Offers to do your tattoos/piercings when you’re older behind your parents’ backs because she gave ear piercings to all of the kids when they were little.
Regulus Potter-Black - The Stern Uncle
Won’t let you eat or drink anything sweet after 6 PM.
Will get upset when you sneak out or ditch school.
Very cold but when you know him very well you can tell his heart is made of gold—I mean seriously how can you think otherwise??? Uncle James is married to him!
Has favorites and allows them to do whatever they want. Will tell kids that if they don’t wash their hands the boogie monster will come and gut them. James told him to stop.
Barty Rosier - The Insane Uncle (duh)
Will casually announce to the whole table that he recently murdered someone. You would sit there in shock and look around the table, noticing that no one even batted an eye. Hell, uncle James asked him how it went!!
His and uncle Evan’s house is all dark and almost satanic. They have real skulls, blood and teeth in jars, they have a whole room filled with all kinds of weapons and body parts. You don’t know how they haven’t been caught yet.
They have a ‘plant’ room that they sell around.
For some reason he’s the best fucking uncle alongside evan and James bc he’s just so fucking funny and cool and chill and his kids are too and sometimes you wish they were your parents instead.
Right when you turn 18 he takes you out to make your ‘first kill’…and it’s not an animal. He also shows you how to defend yourself (if you’re a girl/weak especially), and shows you how to beat the shit out of someone.
Evan Rosier - The Crazy Uncle
Is the only one that manages to balance out barty.
Isn’t that crazy but whenever he is…it’s horrifying. (It turns uncle barty on for some reason?? Their kids hate it.)
Is so hot. Every time a friend is over they all fall in love with him. He notices this and he starts to feed their delusions. Every one hates it. You, Barty, and Sirius find it funny though!
One time he was so angry that he legit went out for a whole day, made Barty worried (which never happens), and came back 3 days later in the middle of the night drenched in blood and 50 murders circling the news.
Pandora does not support this behavior but evan got angry at her one time for bothering him about it and she let it go. They’re very stubborn which means he hasn’t apologized and she still brings it up to make him guilty.
Pandora Lovegood - The Adorable/Therapist Aunt
She’s just so whimsical and sweet and caring and nice and cute and pretty and and and
Always buys you crystals and spiritual things that she insists is very good for you and will protect you.
Surrounds herself with those blue eyes (?) to keep off bad energy.
Is covered in tattoos but they are small and meaningful.
Gives the best advice and her laugh is so fucking adorable.
She’s just here to show you that you belong, that you matter, and to include you in everything so you’re never left out bc she gets it. She’s the only one you can come to for anything.

Sirius, Peter and Remus
Though I dislike Wolfstar to an absolute unhealthy degree, I will admit that I can see two man who feel like total losers for being absolutely nothing in their thirties, one due to circumstances and other due to his woe is me attitude, finding solace in each other's arms on purely physical way. I can actually see a benifit arrangements happening.
But nothing emotional. Because they can never trust each other. Remus because after so many years thinking and believing that Sirius is a responsible for all things gone wrong, his subconscious works that way now. And Sirius because however much a good person you are, at the end of the day he will always be a little resentful at being the one who suffered so much for no reason at all.
But what I absolutely can't stand is -
Gaslight campaign to make us believe that Sirius was lusting/crushing over Lupin since their teenage days
That Sirius chased Lupin while the other played hard to get.
That Sirius wore Remus down and that they actually dated post Hogwarts.
Because all this takes away Sirius's core personality in itself. I will explain it ----
We see him being a passive aggressive friend with Peter. Although I never propagate the idea that Peter was stupid idiot because a person who played so many people like fickle can never be anything but creatively intelligent. But Peter has his moments where he due to reasons and situations hid his own self and went on to present himself as what he thinks other wants him to be.
In poa, he acted remorseful and apologetic to get sympathy. In swm, he becomes a cheerleader to James whose core personality is being an arrogant asshole to almost everyone except Sirius.
He is the most Slytherin-like Gryffindor to ever exist. In school he needed James to survive, not because he was stupid Or needed help with study but because he was absolutely low on social status. His social skills left too much to be desired. So a kid Peter really admired how easy it comes to James to be so charming. That admiration turned to hero worship.
As an adult, he bets his everything on Voldy's win because again he wished to be unharmed and be on the wining side.
So, I hc that Sirius sees Peter's potential. His intelligence. (Common guys why do people forgot that irrespective of who helped him, he himself achieved animagus magic as a 5th year.) He is truly deserving to be one forth of marauder and was not part of it out of pity.
Anyway, Sirius hated that Peter just becomes this fangirl of James. He finds that creepy because he thinks that everyone should have their own agency. He is a guy who ran away when he felt that he was loosing his own agency in grimmauld.
By that logic, Sirius's ideal partner will have to have their own agency and not be influenced by anything that is not their own moral and ethical rules.
But Remus's entire personality is surrounded by his being a werewolf. He has a dual persona. First where every decision and shortcoming in his life, he blames on his condition, giving birth to self pity. While on the other hand where he suppress and hides his creature side as if it is not even there. Which makes him want to make everyone believe that he is a good guy who does good things.
If i have to compare him to anyone in real world, I will say he is like a person with internalized homophobia.
He has an aspect to his personality which he can not change, either just supress and believe that it is not there or just allow himself that space and accept that yes I am like this and it is just how I am.
We see him being troubled by his lycanthrophy but his mental attitude is that of a person who has not yet accepted his condition and made adjustments to live a comparatively happy life. Proof is him blaming Snape for losing his job instead of coming forward and taking the blame in what happened the night prior or asking harry if he and his friends are alright because he a responsible adult who forgot to take his potion and might as well have killed three school aged kids. But no, the entire conversation is him looking for sympathy from a kid who was severely traumatized just the previous night.
It will not come as a big shock to me if the golden trio had ptsd from that night. If they had a phobia of werewolves because one was about to kill them.
In real life people loose limbs in accident, get paralysis, we see people on both ends of spectrum in dealing and accepting their situation and in between.
Lupin proves that any amount of time is insufficient for him to just forgive himself for an event that happened in his childhood which changed his life forever.
And this is the biggest thing that makes me repulsed seeing Sirius paired with Remus- propagating the belief that the best Sirius can do during his peak- pre azkaban days- is being with a person whose hate for himself oozes out of his pours.
A person who can never love himself can never love others. so Wolfstar at best can be a lust story (unbelievable as canon Remus is not all that attractive in physical or emotional or mental level) and at worst a toxic story where Remus gaslights the shit out of Sirius and abuses him behind closed doors. Both physically and emotionally. And presents to be the picture perfect bf in front of society.
[I will definitely love to read a story where Sirius agrees to give it a try when Remus, his close friends reveals his feelings, although he was never attracted to or interested himself in being in a relationship with Remi. Soon, Remus begins using his manipulation techniques and gaslight tools to trap Sirius. It continues for a year or two but somehow he finds that he is abused and gets out of this relationship and then finds his way in life. Etc. ]
I can totally picture Lupin as an abusive partner or husband or father even. In fact i hc that had they both have survived, tonks would have found herself part of a very stressful marriage.
And actually this is not an attack on people who love to read the ship, my beef is that one ship has overpowered entire fandom that we never see Sirius with anyone else as if it is a crime.
It would have been good as a medium fans ship but the large traction makes their fanon characteristics becoming a rule of thumb.
He deserves better than a person who will depend on him financially and emotionally. He deserves to be cared for and cherished and protected and not always having to be the strong one, the one who keeps on apologising for his belief and reasons.

Amazing life
Remus Lupin x reader
Author's note: This oneshot is purely and selfishly for me, since two years ago I published my first post and I wanted to celebrate it in this way, manifesting the life I desire and dream about every day of my life. I hope you enjoy it despite the fact that it is very personal.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
"Oh my God!" Comments in a whisper, which actually turns out to be half shouted.
Immediately you hear your husband's heavy footsteps coming toward you from behind. You immediately sense his presence as he lowers his torso so that his head is beside yours. In his hand is a cup of hot chamomile tea, which he immediately places on your desk as he leaves a kiss in the crook of your neck.
"What's the matter honey, something wrong with the book?" asks Remus slightly concerned to see your face upset, but at the same time happy, which does not allow him to fully comprehend what he sees.
You shake your head without saying anything, and with your finger point to him a date under a Tumblr post now centuries old, from an account you may have left hanging in that limbo of existence for years, with no real reason to exist except to feed your own memories.
"That's today's date." He confirms, looking at the date marking the computer: November 2.
You still remain silent as you stare out the window at an undefined spot, as you smile and let a few tears run down your cheeks. You listen carefully to the sound of the rain beating down over the glass of your small apartment in downtown Edinburgh. You had finally managed to move to this city after having spent a lifetime dreaming of doing so, and you had also managed to do so with the man of your life, or rather you had met him there on your first trip made in discovering this wonderful city that enchanted you with its charms, and you had immediately fallen in love.
After a few years you got married and decided to stay and live in Edinburgh, where you pursued a career as a filmmaker, and as a writer in your spare time.
You've always loved both film and writing, and you couldn't give up either of them in your life, and in return you got nothing but joy and a few less hours of sleep.
Just now you were looking for an old written note in your computer documents, for a story you are writing, when you remembered that you might have written it of the drafts from your first Tumblr account, where you started writing, and so you ended up spending hours rereading and commenting on the stories the little you had written, laughing, crying, and sometimes ashamed of your work, even though you often stopped and thanked even those poor oneshots that you didn't consider up to your writing because they were simple or trivial, because after all, it's because of them that you got where you are now.
Everything up to the first story you had written. A simple oneshot about Rhysand, a character in the series "A court of thorns and roses" written by Sarah J Maas. You had finished reading the series a few months earlier, and you had become very attached to that character who had made you fall in love with her words and actions.
The month before publishing this had been one of the worst months of your life. You had had an accident working out, and you had injured ligaments in your ankle, and you had stayed home from school for a month, crawling and hopping to get around, having to ask everyone for a hand and hating every second of it, since if there is one thing you can't stand in the world, it is showing weakness and asking for help.
You had spent a month alone, seeing all your friends go to school and have fun together, while you spent all day alone with your thoughts, and so your only refuge had been writing.
You had decided to write an oneshot about one of your favorite characters, to comfort yourself for a moment, without the idea of publishing it anywhere. It wasn't the first time you had published something on the Internet, but it was the first time it would be solely yours, and written solely for you, and that made you a little anxious. Eventually you had decided to post it on Tumblr, after several indecisions and in the throes of an anxiety attack, you mashed on that sadistic button that published your first story, before walking the dog and praying to all the known gods that you hadn't fucked up.
As soon as you got home you had checked and were amazed like a little girl seeing Christmas presents under the tree, seeing that three people had liked your story.
From there it was all history, in the good times and the bad times of your life, a constant that allowed you to survive, thanks in part to the support and love of the people who followed your page, read your stories and whom you had come to know over time.
You have never met better people than on Tumblr, devoid of hate or resentment, always ready to help others with a comment or a compliment.
"This is the first story I ever wrote." You whispered to your husband who had stayed behind to read the story while you looked out the window.
He brings his eyes to you, smiles and kisses your forehead.
"It's been a lot of years, and yet it seems like yesterday that I wrote this simple imagine. It seems like yesterday that I was a simple little girl with a dream in her drawer." You confess, as you feel tears welling up in your eyes.
"I am proud of you, who you were and who you have become." He whispers after slightly pulling his lips away from my forehead.
I smile, and he smiles back, as with one last kiss he pulls away to take the old coffee cup to the kitchen, promising to come back, wanting to read all the things I had written in my youth.
I laugh, as I shake my head, and smile to think how little me did not expect this life, and how much I longed for it at the same time, and I would like nothing more than to go back and confess to him to hold on, that sooner or later life will get better.
I look at the picture on my desk, a picture of my last birthday, spent with all my friends from high school and college, and I smile to think that in a little while, on my birthday, maybe I might want to go back in time and see little me one last time, and tell her how magnificent our life had become.
