I don't normally do Just Characters Swearing, but. ...this kind of wrote itself and then wouldn't leave my head. it comes from both a piece of character-writing advice that has always stuck with me, and also my conviction that Leona is 1000% funnier as a character if his dialogue has to stay G-rated. let Kalim say fuck, but don't let Leona say bastard.

#shes cool as fuck to me bc when I first played jfa I found her really frustrating to deal with #not just as Phoenix but I mean like on a personal level she is challenging because she’s so thorough #and yet I also find it fascinating that she breaks the character she’s built for herself once in a while #i 100% believe that I don’t think she would have caught on to what Phoenix was trying to do while stalling for time with engardes trial #so it’s probably a good thing edgeworth subbed in but she literally busts her ass to bring evidence to court #almost right after having a bullet extracted from her WHICH SHE ALSO PRESENTS AS EVIDENCE. thats metal as fuck ok #especially since she would technically have nothing to do with the case after edgeworth fills in and she still decided to do that anyway #maybe it was blind faith to use that evidence to win since she wasn’t there for most of the trial but still #and even if canon doesn’t give it to me I still firmly believe there’s be at least some chemistry between her and Maya #like especially if you hold it next to wrightworth that works bc there’s already a history there and majority of Phoenix and miles trying #to relearn their relationship is Phoenix coaxing out that side of Miles that he remembers from fourth grade #but with Franmaya it’s something new and they’re basically strangers to each other and one of them almost got the other convicted #and I still think that’s fascinating and it’s a damn shame thay half of the fics I find for them on ao3 is background in wrightworth fic #i did find a good one that touched on Franziska trying to win pearls approval because Pearl does hold a grudge against her #and seeing that trying to live up to perfecting even her personal relationships without getting to know Pearl to even know #why it wasn’t working feels believable when I think abt her as a character yk #myart #my art #doodles #aa #ace attorney #franziska von karma

The thing about jonmartin is that Martin wants to be a romantic, he loves poetry and probably watches romance but for him it is a fantasy, a silly game he plays. Martin is at his core very cynical. Things don't work out for him so he doesn't really belive in romance, it is a pretty dream but that's it. He is pratical and realist. Dating Jon he has to remind himself it is real and he actually struggles with romantic gestures, it is something he has to remind himself to do, to remind himself he can do even and honestly who even has the energy and what if Jon doesn't even like it?

Jon on the other hand wants to be cynical. His first coping mechanism was pretend the things he was afraid of weren't real and goddam if he isn't afraid of love. It didn't really work to him so far so it's easy to pretend he doesn't care. But he is a romantic at heart. He saw love and he read about it and he has enough evidence that it is undeniable. And to be honest Jon was always to much a bunch of mushy feelings hidden in a grumpy (and bitter and afraid) trench coat. Dating Martin he has to hold himself so he isn't too much. He plays the grumpy unromantic guy at first. But he just can't stop giving flowers and planing dates (this is the guy that saw a theme park on a fear domain and considered how he wanted to take Martin to a romantic ferris whell date [until he discovered Martin was afraid of them]) and making all the silly things one does when in love.

TR: Martin is deep down very cynical about love but wants to/pretends to be a romantic and Jon is deep down very romantic but wants to/pretends to be cynical about love.

#that's also to say Martin is definitivaly the one forgeting important dates #wich is more complicated cause jon consider random things important #like jon has no expectation that martin will actualy do something to celebrate 'the aniversary of the first time you got me flowers'#but he will circle the date and give martin a flower and martin will go 'is this jon being silly or did i forgot our birthday again'#until jon just stops circling it on calendars so martin won't be anxious #jon is romantic enough that he is fine being the only one that rememberz #remember guys jon asked if they would find each other in every universe #jon belived he and martin would always be together #martin belived it was a miracle they were together once a great miracle but a miracle #tma #the magnus archives #martin blackwood #jonathan sims #jonmartin #jmart #teaholding

remember when they used to put cute little fangs on the sonic character models. life was so beautiful back then

#some characters still have them like i think blaze and rouge do . but sonic knuckles shadow tails and silver had theirs removed #knuckles tails and shadow still have theirs in 2d art sometimes though #but actually i remember hearing once that its an actual rule for idw sonic that tails cant be drawn with fangs #like one of the artists did it and got notes back telling them not to do it again in future issues. or something like that. Sad !

My less popular opinion (and what I believe to be implied by the art in Lost Days) is that rather than waking up in a fully grown body Jason didn’t actually complete his puberty until after his Lazarus pit dip while he was on his murder tour. Imagine you’re tied up in a basement in Berlin getting interrogated by a teenager and his voice is cracking the entire time and if you laugh he’s going to shoot you

#Late puberty Jason truthers rise #Egon calling up Talia like ‘did you send me a middle schooler what is this’. ‘He’s technically high school aged actually’#he would’ve been like 18 when he finally regained consciousness but the way he’s drawn could easily be mistaken for 15 #I know people love the body dysmorphia angst of Jason waking up big but I offer you this: Jason wakes up looking basically the same to a #world that has moved on without him and is unrecognizable. His death/injuries stunted him he existed for years in a state of suspension #while the world passed him by. He was on pause while everyone kept moving on and he didn’t get unpaused until the Lazarus pit and he has #to scramble to catch up. He’s actually 18 but the last thing he remembers is being 15 and his body reflects this state #and then once his mind is finally back online puberty hits him like a truck. Just look at the difference between how Jason is drawn #immediately after his dip in the Lazarus pit vs the end of lost days when his training arc is over #It implies it could’ve been multiple years but in order to fit with the timeline of other comics I personally don’t think it #would’ve been that long. I think he just sprouted up like a weed #Jason Todd #dc #I think Jason is technically still growing by the time he’s red hood. In your Spitfire AU, since Zuko is looking after Lu Ten II, what happened to Ursa?

Zuko is slightly older in the Spitfire AU. He was banished at fifteen, his head a little clearer and denial a little weaker than in canon. After his first look through the Air Temples, Zuko decides that if he can't find a myth, he might as well search for the next best thing.

Finding Ursa isn't easy, but in time he makes it to a secluded house in a near-forgotten part of the world. His mom is there, older and stronger and alive.

But she isn't alone.

And Zuko, as it turns out, didn't keep the best company during his search.

When Ursa is discovered and her secrets are laid bare for assassins (for Ozai) to find, she begs Zuko to take his little brother and run. She'll do anything it takes to protect her children, even if that means leaving them behind to keep a target off their back. Ursa diverts attention from them and allows Lu Ten's ancestry to be kept a secret. She orders Zuko not to follow her again, and disappears.

Zuko is left with a little three-year-old brother to raise and a mother he cannot hold onto.
