If you got some money to spare, might as well use it for good
Today I want to thank each and everyone who is donating, supporting, reblogging, reposting, boosting and contributing to the wellbeing of lgbtiq folks who are stuck in the refugee camp right now. You are literally saving innocent souls from suffering and starving 🙏🏾🙏🏾
It is very difficult to be a queer refugee and living in a refugee camp at the moment. There is no food, nor water. Services like healthcare and medical assistance have been suspended. For people living with HIV, it is a catastrophe!
We Need more voices out there to try and alter these series of unfortunate events and unimaginable dire situation 😞😔🥺
A Special thanks to everyone who is doing everything you can to assist and support us.
Please we still urgently requesting more of your support and donation to assist us during this horrific situation as we're in another battle of unfolding a fight for survival in the face of dwindling food rations , chronic water shortages and deteriorating living conditions in the refugee camp 😔😞😔has the world has turned a blind eye and now the lgbtiq refugees are in critical crisis condition as for too long the suffering of certain group especially lgbtiq folks was dismissed by those who believed their struggles were exaggerated 😔😞😞
As the sun sets over the dusty kakuma refugee camp , the chants continue , the people of kakuma have now spoken as the world must decide wether to listen .
This story captures the urgency and gravity of the situation while highlighting how starvation has become a universal crisis affecting not only lgbtiq individuals but all refugees in East Africa Refugee Camps due to cut off funds from USAID and WFP 😞😔
Please try to consider our situation as lgbtiq refugees and spare anything even if it's little to take part inorder to save innocent brave lgbtiq souls suffering and stucked in East Africa Refugee Camps 🙏🏾🙏🏾 just know that your donation is worthy however much it's little it can make asense and areal impact on lives of starving lgbtiq folks 🙏🏾🙏🏾

hey so my friend @kakebezi-10 really needs some help rn and to give the basics of her situation;
she is a trans woman currently living in a refugee camp in africa with her cats.
she has been a victim of transphobic violence several time before. as of the last i have spoken to her about it, she also cannot work due to transphobia.
unclean drinking water has made her severely ill. she cannot reach treatment at the moment and needs money in order to reach treatment. she has been diagnosed with h. pylori, ulcers, malaria, and typhoid.
she is already struggling enough. i am truly heartbroken to hear that she is sick and i am even more heartbroken to think of what may happen if she does not receive treatment.
if you can’t donate, please at least reblog and maybe send her a kind word. i’m sure she could use it.
her fundraiser below;
@optimistic-autistic and myself are also willing to do art for those who donate to her. please reach out to one of us with proof of donation and we will negotiate your commission.
i know we’re all very scared right now, but now is a time for unity. please help out where you can.

Hey guys, now that the billionaire tincan imploded and we've got our last goofs out, maybe we can shift the conversation to focus on the thousands of refugees that needlessly drown in the Mediterranean sea every year due to racist border policies.
In addition to taking local political action you might want to donate to Sea-Eye - a NGO that runs rescue missions in the central Mediterranean and also organizes political camapigns to tackle the EU's institutional racism.
You can also take a look at Leave No One Behind, which showcases and supports a wide number of smaller to medium sized projects that help out people looking for refuge in Europe.
Feel free to add other ressources and projects you feel need more support!

Dono post, trying my luck u_u
just double and triple checked and my posts aren't showing up on any tags anymore hmmm... i redid some settings but if it keeps up ill probably send a support ticket
it's only problematic for me cause im broke as shit and STILL have no welfare benefits after living here as a refugee for nearly a year. promoting my art/commissions is the only way I can hope to get any money now since my severe PTSD symptoms keeps me from leaving the house. I have people helping me with rent and groceries but I can't rely on them forever, and if I do I'm worried it might fuck up my benefits application somehow.
If you see this post and would like to support me somehow:
My ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/iteveit I also have a twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/iteveit which I try and promote my work through. Honestly just having company there chatting with me while I draw does wonders to my mental health.
I'll eventually put up a proper commission format on my ko-fi page but any donos will get a sketch from me for now. Money will go to my medication expenses, and living necessities. Any small amount will help.
#not art#PSA#please donate#if you can#or you can support me by checking out my art if you like it#refugee aid#my post wont show up on any fucking tags anyway but if you see this and choose to support me THANK YOU!!!!!#it means a lot

HELP LGBTIQ IN KAKUMA - 10,000€
Dear friends and allies,
I am one of the 50 individuals among the LGBTIQ community living in the Kakuma refugee camp located in Turkana west county, Kenya. Unfortunately, this camp is a hostile community for us, with regular attacks, continues discrimination increased homophobia, serious death tolls, precious living conditions and restricted access to NGOs, injuries inflicted upon us. Therefore we're plea for support cannot be ignored. As we lgbtiq individuals we're calling upon for individuals and organisatios to support us in this critical situation , we're seeking for your support, assistance, guidance and collaboration in addressing this urgent matter so that we can survive and thrive in this situation.
We are raising 10,000€ for 50 individuals and further if the donations increases to facilitate the costs of food, medication, and other survival necessities like pads , clothes soaps so that we can atleast reduce the risks of lesbians who always selling off their bodies to get access for food and sanitary items for survival hence can lead them to sexually transmitted diseases like HIV, TB. Every pound you donate will make a real significant impact on innocent lives, helping us to survive and stay healthy in this horrible and difficult environment.
We also ask for your support in advocating for us, so that we can be resettled in a safe place where we can live without fear of persecution as Kenya is on way to introduce severe anti LGBTQIA laws on his territory. Any assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Your voice can make a real difference in securing a better future for us.thank you for your time , consideration and dedication to the principal of justice and equality
Please consider making a donation to help us survive and thrive in Kakuma. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a real world of difference in our lives. Thank you for your support and compassion.
Sincerely,
The LGBTIQ community in Kakuma.

So on point. So brilliant. So real.
Same thing happens with the entire continent of Africa.
People are so desensitized to black and african pain that it's just "normal", inherent to them.
Africa has always been poor, underdeveloped and suffering, right? and they have the nerve to flee their homelands and go to europe in search of a better life!! how dare they?? it's completely their fault, isn't it?? it has nothing to do with past and present colonialism and brutal exploitation right????
Free Palestine, free the entire Middle East, free Congo and Sudan and every country that suffers from the consequences of genocides, imperalism and colonial brutality.
Stand with the refugees and inmigrants, now and always.
Please, please constantly challenge and reject the narrative that any region is naturally more prone to war than any other, like that's a characteristic inherent to its make-up, like that's geographically assigned risk the same way an area can be earthquake-prone or hurricane-prone.
There has never been a utopia on Earth and nowhere is entirely free of conflict, but this disastrous scale of violence inflicted upon the SWANA region is a deliberate and calculated effort of destabilization by Western powers who want to bleed the region dry. It's not an immutable part of the contour of the land that its people must adapt to and live with. It can be stopped and should be stopped. These people were once free and can be freed again.
Every time you see someone hand-waving a crisis at this scale as "conflict in the Middle East" it is an abominable tool to dehumanize Arabs to the point where nobody bats an eye at the death of their children.
Examine what that phrase means. What is a "conflict in the Middle East"? What happens in Yemen isn't what happens in Morocco isn't what happens in Palestine isn't what happens in Iraq, but this catch-all term is meant to translate in your mind into "problems are happening where problems are always happening", because of course they are! Conflict in the Middle East? What else is new, clouds in the sky? Fish in the sea? It lulls you into apathy; Arabs are dying - but that's what they do, don't they?
And so three goals of the perpetrators of this violence are achieved. First, they wash their hands from it; they didn't set the place on fire, it was already like this when they got there! Second, does it even matter whose fault it is? Who cares about a dead brown child anyway? Who's counting the death toll? Third, since this is an unchangeable quality of their region, and has nothing to do with the West, why protest it? Why fight for them? Why demand anything out of Western leaders?

Urgent: Crisis in Kakuma Refugee Camp - Calls for Accountability and Justice
https://gofund.me/2bd62c27
The situation in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya, has reached a critical point, with reports of violence and unrest escalating. Recently, four individuals were shot during a protest, highlighting the dire conditions and the urgent need for intervention. This tragic incident underscores the ongoing struggles faced by refugees in the camp, including overcrowding, limited resources, and a lack of protection.
The protest, sparked by grievances over living conditions and delayed resettlement processes, turned violent when security forces allegedly opened fire on demonstrators. The four victims, whose identities have not yet been fully disclosed, are a stark reminder of the human cost of inaction and neglect.
We call on the following organizations to address this crisis and ensure accountability:
1. UNHCR Kenya(@UNHCR_Kenya) - As the primary agency responsible for refugee welfare, UNHCR must investigate the shooting and ensure the safety of Kakuma's residents.
2. Amnesty International Kenya(@AmnestyKE) - We urge Amnesty to document human rights violations and advocate for justice for the victims.
3. Kenya Red Cross Society(@KenyaRedCross) - Immediate medical and humanitarian assistance is needed for those injured and affected by the violence.
4. Government of Kenya (@GovernmentKE) - The Kenyan authorities must ensure that security forces adhere to international human rights standards and hold those responsible for the shootings accountable.
The refugees in Kakuma are not just statistics—they are human beings deserving of dignity, safety, and a future. The international community cannot turn a blind eye to their suffering.
We demand:
- A transparent investigation into the shootings.
- Immediate improvements in living conditions within the camp.
- Protection for refugees exercising their right to peaceful protest.
#JusticeForKakuma #RefugeeRights #KakumaCrisis #HumanRights
Let us stand together to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated. The world is watching.

Fatigue is a state of tiredness (which is not sleepiness), exhaustion[1] or loss of energy.[2][3]
Fatigue
Other names
Exhaustion, weariness, tiredness, lethargy, listlessness
Artistic representation of ME/CFS
Specialty
Primary care
Treatment
Avoid known stressors and unhealthy habits (drug use, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking), healthy diet, exercise regularly, medication, hydration, and vitamins
Fatigue (in the medical sense) is sometimes associated with medical conditions including autoimmune disease, organ failure, chronic pain conditions, mood disorders, heart disease, infectious diseases, and post-infectious-disease states.[4] However, fatigue is complex and in up to a third of primary care cases no medical or psychiatric diagnosis is found.[5][6][7]
Fatigue (in the general usage sense of normal tiredness) often follows prolonged physical or mental activity. Physical fatigue results from muscle fatigue brought about by intense physical activity.[8][9][10] Mental fatigue results from prolonged periods of cognitive activity which impairs cognitive ability, can manifest as sleepiness, lethargy, or directed attention fatigue,[11] and can also impair physical performance.[12]
Definition
edit
Fatigue in a medical context is used to cover experiences of low energy that are not caused by normal life.[2][3]
A 2021 review proposed a definition for fatigue as a starting point for discussion: "A multi-dimensional phenomenon in which the biophysiological, cognitive, motivational and emotional state of the body is affected resulting in significant impairment of the individual's ability to function in their normal capacity".[13]
Another definition is that fatigue is "a significant subjective sensation of weariness, increasing sense of effort, mismatch between effort expended and actual performance, or exhaustion independent from medications, chronic pain, physical deconditioning, anaemia, respiratory dysfunction, depression, and sleep disorders".[14]
Terminology
edit
The use of the term "fatigue" in medical contexts may carry inaccurate connotations from the more general usage of the same word. More accurate terminology may also be needed for variants within the umbrella term of fatigue.[15]
Comparison with other terms
edit
Tiredness
edit
Tiredness which is a normal result of work, mental stress, anxiety, overstimulation and understimulation, jet lag, active recreation, boredom, or lack of sleep is not considered medical fatigue. This is the tiredness described in MeSH Descriptor Data.[16]
Sleepiness
edit
Sleepiness refers to a tendency to fall asleep, whereas fatigue refers to an overwhelming sense of tiredness, lack of energy, and a feeling of exhaustion. Sleepiness and fatigue often coexist as a consequence of sleep deprivation.[17] However sleepiness and fatigue may not correlate.[18] Fatigue is generally considered a longer-term condition than sleepiness (somnolence).[19]
Presentation
edit
Common features
edit
Distinguishing features of medical fatigue include
unpredictability,
variability in severity,
fatigue being relatively profound/overwhelming, and having extensive impact on daily living,
lack of improvement with rest,
where an underlying disease is present, the amount of fatigue is often not commensurate with the severity of the underlying disease.[13][20][21][22]
Differentiating features
edit
Differentiating characteristics of fatigue that may help identify the possible cause of fatigue include
Post-exertional malaise; a common feature of ME/CFS,[23] and experienced by a significant proportion of people with Long Covid,[24] but not a feature of other fatigues.
The onset of PEM is usually within two days. Peak PEM occurs within seven, while recovery can take months.
Typical timeframes of post-exertional malaise after normal daily activities
Increased by heat or cold; MS fatigue is in many cases affected in this way.[25][26]
Remission; MS fatigue may reduce during periods of other MS symptom remission.[27][28] ME/CFS may also have lower periods of activity.[29]
Cognitive declines; sleep deprivation causes cognitive and neurobehavioral effects including unstable attention and slowing of response times.[30] ME/CFS and MS may cause brain fog over longer timescales.
Intermittency; Fatigues often vary in how and when they occur. Some fatigues (RA,[31] cancer fatigue[32]) seem to often be continual (24/7) whilst others (MS, Sjögren's, lupus, brain injury[33][34]) are often intermittent.[31] A 2010 study found that Sjögren's patients reported fatigue after rising, an improvement in mid-morning, and worsening later in the day, whereas lupus (SLE) patients reported lower fatigue after rising followed by increasing fatigue through the day.[35] ME/CFS symptoms can be continual, or can fluctuate during the day, from day to day, and over longer periods.[29]
The pace of onset may be a related differentiating factor; MS fatigue can have abrupt onset.[36]
Feeling of weight; some fatigues, including that caused by MS, create a sense of weight or gravity; "I feel like I have lead weights attached to my limbs ... or I am being pulled down by gravity."[37]
Some people may have multiple causes of fatigue.
Stand with Queer Refugees in Africa: Peter's Story
Survival Funds for LGBTIQ'S Refugees
My name is Pablo , and I am an LGBTIQ leader and representative here in an emcampment, where we have faced a great deal of homophobia in this environment, including from fellow refugees.
Unfortunately, UNHCR staff, including medical attendants, are homophobic to us and don’t provide services to us. This has been reported several times to the people responsible but help has been in vain. Thus, seeking support from fellow LGBTIQ organizations and individual well-wishers to attain medication from private hospitals in the camp has been difficult.
Additionally, food provided to us, as distributed at present by the UNHCR, is not enough to sustain us for a month which is in a ratio of 1:2 beans and Rice.
Thus, we are seeking support to overcome scarcity and hunger.
We will be very glad to receive any positive feedback in terms of financial help, advice and advocacy support!
Many thanks.
life at the refugee camp is extremely hard for the LGBTQI community since from 2019 when I fled to 2024 due to rampant HOMOPHOBIA within the camp. This was witnessed through daily attacks by homophobic fellow refugees and the co-host community.
LGBTQI refugees live under great fear whereby we're being targeted by the homophobes; this has resulted in severe injuries where these homophobes ambush when armed with machetes. Over time, property has been also lost and even lives where we lost three of our mates in kakuma before I left there. This was witnessed in the recent attack when two LGBTQI refugees were set on fire where they suffered third degree burns, which resulted in one losing his life while the other is on life support in hospital update.
In addition, sexual harassment has also been witnessed here in refugee camp to the LGBTQI community. Lesbians on several occasions have been raped not once but twice. Beyond any reasonable doubt, this has made the most hostile land for LGBTQI community.
Furthermore, the LGBTQI community lives under great suffering due to the fact we are willing to work to earn a living but fail to get employment opportunities due to our sexual orientation. This has made life so much harder for us minority group, being marginalized amidst these arid areas of camps. We have faced various attacks from homophobes and also illness related to poor standards of living.
Even so, despite all the misery, we try to find some time to kill the stress when celebrating official LGBTIQ days and festivals. Below is when we celebrated the Pride Day and also had some couples officially get married while maintaining a low profile.
Please help and support us to overcome our starvations, get good medications and shelters because as we are now we daily face the same obstacles while sleeping out side😭.
Yours only our hopes.
