Tim Drake x Fem!Reader ︜ęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸śď¸śęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸śď¸śęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸śď¸śęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸ś
The usual hum of the school day fills the air, the familiar sounds of lockers clanging, laughter bubbling up in small groups, and teachers herding students toward their next classes. In science class, the overhead fluorescent lights buzz softly, casting a pale glow over everyone hunched over their notebooks. The scent of paper and faint hints of disinfectant linger as you sit at your desk, scribbling down the lecture notes from the board, focused and trying to stay in the rhythm of the lesson.
At your side, Tim Drake is a quiet presence, meticulously organizing his notes and materials. You can see the focus etched on his face, his gaze steady as he reviews the dayâs experiment setup. Occasionally, though, you catch a shift in his expression, a glance in your direction that lingers just a second too long. His dark blue eyes seem to flicker with something unspoken, a mixture of curiosity and intensity that keeps you on edge.
As the teacher drones on, your curiosity grows, and finally, you glance up to catch Tim mid-stare. Your eyes meet, and he shifts awkwardly, his cheeks taking on a faint blush as he realizes heâs been caught. Tim clears his throat, trying to mask his embarrassment, and fumbles with his pen as if it had been the most interesting thing in the world all along.
A smirk tugs at your lips as you lean a little closer, keeping your voice low. "You know, if you're going to stare, you might as well say something,â you whisper, amusement lacing your tone.
Tim stammers, his voice barely audible over the murmurs of your classmates. "IâI wasn't staring. Just... thinking about the lab results from last week."
You chuckle softly, rolling your eyes. âRight. Lab results. That must be why you looked like you were daydreaming.â
Before he can fumble for another excuse, Mr. Hargrove, your teacher, clears his throat, looking pointedly in your direction. âMiss Y/L/N and Mr. Drake, I assume your conversation is about the chemical bonding experiment?â His voice cuts through the noise, and a hush falls as nearby classmates glance over curiously.
You glance at Tim, who nods hastily, trying to regain composure. "Yes, sir," he says, straightening up and sounding far more confident than he looks. âWe were discussing covalent bonds and their formation.â
Mr. Hargrove gives him a skeptical look but eventually just rolls his eyes, muttering something under his breath about âyoung loveâ as he turns back to the board. Tim exhales, relieved, and you shoot him a grateful smile, silently appreciative of his quick thinking. Heâs awkward, sure, but thereâs something endearing about his attempts to cover for both of you.
The rest of the period passes in comfortable silence, broken only by the faint chatter of classmates behind you and the occasional scratch of pens on paper. Tim keeps to himself, glancing up now and then to check on your progress as you continue your notes. Each shared glance feels like a private conversation, a secret exchange that makes you feel closer to him than words could express.
Finally, the bell rings, and a collective sigh of relief sweeps across the room. Students shuffle out of their seats, backpacks swinging and papers rustling as everyone heads for the hallway. Tim moves to gather your materials for you, and when his fingers brush against yours, a small jolt of warmth runs through you. You look up, and he holds your gaze for a moment longer than necessary.
As you walk out, the hallway is a cacophony of voices and laughter, students calling out to each other about the weekend or the latest gossip. Youâre still talking about the experiment as you stroll toward Timâs locker, weaving through the crowd, when a familiar voice cuts through the noise.
âHey, Y/N!â Jamie, one of your friends from English class, grins at you from a few lockers down, her eyes flashing with mischief. âSo, are you bringing Tim to the pep rally tomorrow, or are you finally going to ditch your lab partner and join us?â
Tim looks like a deer caught in headlights at the mention of the rally, visibly unsure about diving into that part of high school life. You canât help but laugh at his expression, nudging him gently. âOh, heâs coming. Right, Tim?â you ask, leaning in with a grin. âItâll be good for you to experience some ânormalâ teenage activities.â
Tim rubs the back of his neck, shifting his weight as he avoids your friendâs knowing gaze. âIf... uh, if you think itâll be fun.â
Jamie just snickers, giving you both an exaggerated thumbs-up. âLook at you twoâscience nerds bonding over school spirit. Iâm impressed.â She gives you a wave as she saunters off, leaving you and Tim standing in the bustling hallway.
Tim lets out a sigh, glancing at you apologetically. âIâm... really not a pep rally person,â he admits, his voice low as students continue to filter around you, talking about the game, the pep rally, and other high school plans.
âCome on, Tim,â you say, your tone playful as you tilt your head, coaxing him. âJust one rally. You could use a bit of excitement that doesnât involve analyzing chemicals.â
He chuckles softly, shaking his head as he relents. âAlright, alright. Just this once.â
That evening, as you make your way to Wayne Manor for your usual study session, the massive estate looms ahead, imposing yet strangely familiar. Alfred greets you with his usual polite warmth as he opens the door. âGood evening, Miss Y/N. Mr. Drake is already in the library waiting for you,â he says, offering you a tray of tea and biscuits with a soft smile.
You thank him, grabbing a biscuit as you head toward the library. Inside, you find Dick Grayson lounging on the couch, flipping through a magazine, but he glances up as you walk in. âWell, well, look who it is!â he teases, smirking. âY/N, back again to distract Tim from his studies?â
âHey, Iâm just here for the snacks,â you retort, shooting him a grin. Tim appears in the doorway just then, holding a stack of books and looking mortified as he hears Dickâs teasing.
âIâI invited her to study, okay?â Tim stammers, trying to brush off the embarrassment as he sets down his books. His cheeks are tinged red, and he does his best to ignore his brotherâs knowing look.
Dick just laughs, ruffling Timâs hair as he walks past. âSure, sure. Just donât study too hard, little bro.â
As he exits, Alfredâs voice echoes from down the hallway, cutting through the brief silence. âTim, make sure you get enough sleep tonight. School is importantâno matter what else is on your plate.â
You catch Timâs faint wince, and a flicker of curiosity crosses your mind. Youâve noticed before how his family seems to hint at something⌠other. Something heâs careful not to talk about. But you push the thought aside, focusing instead on the eveningâs work.
Settling at the table with your chemistry notes, you and Tim dive into reviewing complex formulas and covalent bonding structures. The room is cozy, illuminated by the warm glow of the lamp, and you find yourself sneaking glances at him. Thereâs a softness in his focus, a gentleness in his mannerisms that draws you in, making you forget the world outside.
For a while, thereâs only the quiet rustling of papers, the scratching of pens, and the faint ticking of the libraryâs antique clock. Itâs peaceful, intimate in a way you never wouldâve expected. The way Timâs brow furrows slightly as he contemplates a particularly tricky problem, or how he pushes his glasses up his nose absentmindedly, feels almost endearing.
Then, as if sensing your gaze, Tim looks up, catching you staring. His cheeks flush a deeper shade of red, and he smiles shylyâa smile that feels both tentative and sincere, and it makes your heart race. âSorry, am I boring you?â he asks, teasing but genuinely curious.
You shake your head, trying to brush off the momentâs awkwardness. âNot at all. Iâm just... trying to figure out how you manage to look so focused while Iâm here daydreaming.â
Tim chuckles softly, his laughter warm and genuine. âItâs just a skill Iâve honed over time,â he replies, leaning back in his chair. âThough I guess I have my distractions.â His gaze flickers to your notes, then back to you, a playful glint in his eyes.
âJust admit it,â you challenge lightly, âyouâd be lost without me keeping you on task.â
He raises an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. âOh really? And how would I ever survive these long nights without my study buddy?â
You grin back, your playful banter drawing you even closer. âExactly. I provide essential academic support.â
Tim shakes his head, laughing again as he dives back into the notes. The connection between you grows stronger in the comfort of shared laughter and study, the boundaries of friendship blending into something more electric with each moment you spend together.
Eventually, the quiet rhythm of study begins to take over once more, but the air is charged with an underlying tension that neither of you can ignore. You find yourself lost in the warmth of his presence, the unspoken words hanging in the air like an unsolved equation waiting for resolution.
As you finish up the last chapter of your notes, you realize itâs getting late. The clock ticks steadily in the background, and Alfredâs voice echoes softly from the distance, signaling that itâs time to head home. You glance up at Tim, who is still buried in his notes, his brow furrowed in concentration. âHey, we should wrap this up,â you suggest gently, though a part of you wishes to linger just a little longer.
He looks up, seemingly surprised by the time. âWow, I didnât even realize how late it was.â Thereâs a touch of disappointment in his voice, as if he, too, wishes this moment could stretch on indefinitely.
You start to pack your things, and as you do, a thought crosses your mind. âOh, by the way, I was wondering if youâd like to come to a party this Friday. It should be funâlots of people, good musicâŚâ You trail off, gauging his reaction.
Timâs expression shifts slightly, and you can almost see the gears turning in his mind. âA party?â he echoes, a hint of uncertainty creeping into his voice. âI mean, that sounds great, butâŚâ
You watch as he hesitates, and your heart sinks just a little. âBut?â you prompt gently.
He rubs the back of his neck, looking genuinely conflicted. âIâve got⌠uh, a lot of homework to catch up on,â he says, the words tumbling out awkwardly. âAnd, you know, Iâm really trying to keep my grades up this semester.â
You nod, trying to mask your disappointment. âI get it. School is important,â you reply, your voice softer than you intended. âMaybe another time?â
Tim smiles apologetically, and you can see that he genuinely regrets not being able to join you. âDefinitely. Iâd love to hang out more, just⌠you know, when the stars align or something,â he says with a half-hearted laugh.
âRight, stars,â you echo, a playful smile creeping back onto your face, even as you feel the sting of missed opportunity. âNext time, then.â
With a final glance at your notes, you feel ready to embrace whatever comes next, and you can't shake the feeling that this is just the beginning of a beautiful chapter in your lives, even if the party wonât include him.
The rooftop is buzzing with life. Laughter mixes with the gentle clinking of glasses and the low murmur of jazz as people sway to the music, their silhouettes dancing under the warm glow of string lights. Someoneâs already opened up a makeshift dance floor near the edge of the rooftop, and a group has gathered around to cheer on a friend trying to pull off a clumsy waltz. Everywhere I look, familiar faces are lit up with excitement, completely lost in the charm of the evening.
Iâm leaning against the railing, watching the scene unfold with a grin, when Jamie sidles up beside me, nudging my arm with her elbow. âLook at you, standing here all mysterious and brooding. Let me guessâthinking about Tim again?â
I canât help but laugh, rolling my eyes. âAbsolutely not,â I say, faking indignation. âIâm just⌠admiring the view.â
She scoffs, clearly not buying it. âRight. And Iâm the queen of Gotham,â she says with a smirk, sipping her drink. âCome on, you keep looking like youâre waiting for him to pop up out of nowhere.â
âYou caught me.â I glance down at the rooftopâs entrance, knowing full well Tim wouldnât come to something like this. âI donât know, Jamie⌠heâs just different. Thereâs something going on with him, and he never lets me in.â
âMaybe heâs secretly Batman,â Jamie jokes, wiggling her fingers in a mock-spooky gesture. âOr heâs just shy, Y/N. Not everyone lives for the spotlight like you do.â
âYou know, you couldâve just said âyouâre awesome and everyone knows it,â but Iâll take that as a compliment,â I reply, feigning a wounded look. Jamie rolls her eyes, laughing, and a few others overhear and join in, nudging me playfully.
âOh, donât get all modest now,â a guy from our biology class chimes in. âIf it werenât for you, weâd still be planning our senior trip to that awful museum downtown.â
âTrue!â Jamie says, raising her glass in mock salute. âHereâs to Y/N, our fearless leader and the best fake friend a girl could ask for.â
âCheers to fake friends!â I say, clinking my glass with hers, the group laughing in unison. For a moment, I let myself relax, soaking up the energy, watching everyone enjoy themselves. Itâs exactly the kind of carefree night Iâd hoped for, even if thereâs a tiny part of me that wishes Tim could experience it, too.
But then, the mood changes.
It starts subtlyâa nervous murmur from someone near the door, followed by a low, panicked gasp. I turn to look, frowning as I see people near the entrance start to back away, their expressions shifting from cheerful to tense. Suddenly, the rooftop door slams open with a force that makes everyone flinch, and I see a group of masked figures rush in, shoving guests aside as they spread out across the space.
People gasp, stumbling back as the intruders take over. The laughter and music come to an abrupt halt, replaced by confused whispers and growing fear. Jamieâs hand grips my arm tightly, her face pale.
âEveryone, stay down!â one of the figures barks, their voice harsh and commanding. My heart pounds as the realization sets inâthis isnât some prank or joke. This is real, and itâs dangerous.
The crowd is chaotic, people backing up in confusion, trying to find places to hide. Instinctively, I try to move away from the intruders, grabbing Jamieâs hand and backing up, my own heart thundering in my chest. The once lively rooftop now feels claustrophobic, the walls and railings pressing in as I try to make sense of the chaos around me.
Someone shouts, and I turn in time to see one of the masked figures shove a table, scattering drinks and causing people to scream as they duck for cover. I stumble backward, my heel catching on the uneven rooftop tiles. I feel Jamieâs grip loosen as I lose my balance, arms flailing as I back upâtoo far. My stomach drops as I feel my foot slip over the edge, and suddenly, Iâm falling.
Itâs only for a split second, but it feels like an eternity. The wind rushes past me, the cold night air biting against my skin as gravity pulls me down. But just as panic fully sets in, a firm hand grabs my wrist, pulling me back with surprising strength. I gasp, my eyes wide as Iâm yanked away from the edge and steadied by someone in a dark uniform. The masked face of Robin looks down at me, his eyes intense and focused.
âIâve got you. Just hold on,â he says, his voice steady and reassuring. Even through the mask, thereâs something so familiar about his tone that it sends a shiver through me.
Before I can say anything, he pulls me close and activates his grappling hook, launching us to a nearby rooftop in one swift motion. I cling to him, my heart racing, the city blurring around us as he carries me to safety. When we land, he sets me down, his hand still holding mine for a moment longer than necessary.
I look up at him, and my mind races. That voice, that feeling⌠could it really be?
âTim?â I whisper, barely able to believe it.
Robin stiffens, his gaze flickering, and he hesitates. He starts to shake his head, but I cross my arms, giving him a knowing look.
âDonât even try to lie to me,â I say, the words coming out more confidently than I feel. âTim, I know itâs you.â
He sighs, realizing thereâs no point in trying to deny it. He shifts uncomfortably, glancing away before looking back at me, his expression almost sheepish under the mask.
âI didnât want you to find out like this,â he admits quietly.
I let out a soft laugh, more out of relief than anything. âSo all those times you brushed me off or acted like you were busyâit was because you were out saving Gotham?â
Thereâs a hint of a smirk under his mask, and he finally lets his guard down a bit. âSorry if my night job interfered with hanging out,â he says, his voice laced with that dry humor I recognize.
We share a smile, the tension easing for just a moment, before he grows serious again. âY/N, this life⌠itâs dangerous. I kept you out of it on purpose. I didnât want you involved.â
I step closer, meeting his gaze with a steadiness I didnât know I had. âI get it, Tim. But Iâd rather know the truth. And if you ever need helpâor just someone to talk toâIâm here.â
He looks at me for a long moment, his eyes softening. Finally, he reaches up, and to my surprise, removes the mask, revealing the face I know so well. His expression is both vulnerable and relieved, a quiet question lingering in his eyes.
âYou really mean that?â he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
âYeah,â I say with a smile. âBesides, someone has to make sure you donât get too serious all the time.â
He laughs softly, his usual guarded demeanor slipping away. But then, the distant sound of sirens brings him back to the present, his face hardening again as the Robin persona returns. âI should go help the others. But⌠will you wait for me?â
I nod, my heart swelling. âOf course. Iâll be here.â
With one last, lingering look, he slips the mask back on and disappears into the night, leaving me alone on the rooftop. The evening has been flipped on its head, but I canât help the small smile on my face. Tim, my friendâmaybe something moreâhad been watching over me all along.

Yandere Batfam - Soulmate Soul Animal Au.
Chapter 6:
Summary: After being ambushed previously in Gotham's streets, you awake alone and afraid, in a strange building.
Chapter 1. Chapter 2. Chapter 3. Chapter 4. Chapter 5. Chapter 7.
----
A furious pounding beat at your skull, a liquid of some kind dripped down from your head. You blinked your eyes open, greeted by what could only be some kind of warehouse.
You were in a daze, barely recognising what was in front of you. What vision you had was muddled by pain and your hearing was drowned out by a piercing beat in your ears.
What...?
You could hardly think.
The world was a messy tsunami of pain and confusion. That is... Until a flash of green, white and red beamed into your eyes, a sneering smile on its face.
You gasped. Breath caught in your throat, as your chin was caught in his hand.
The Joker.
"HahahahahahaHAHAHAHA!" The laugh echoed throughout the building as your surprise turned into shakes. The hand left go as Joker's chortle turned into a full laugh, but that was hardly a relief.
This was, quite literally, the worst situation you could have ever gotten into. Out of everyone who would have an interest in Batman's soulmate, why must it be him?
You instinctively try to move, but soon realise you've been restrained, ropes tying you down to an iron chair. They don't budge.
The stomping of shoes drew your attention back to him, as the Joker approached you again.
"Well now." He began, a beaming grin stretching his face. "Lookie what we have here. You know, I was having a wonderful night, finally out on the town, able to meet all my old friends again. Then I meet you, and you know what I think?"
He rested a hand on your shoulder. You fought a shiver.
"What a... great new friend?" You try. You go for a smile of your own. You're certain it looks more like a grimace.
A mocking laugh is his response. Then, with a sudden twist, his hands grasp your collar, bringing you to his eye level. The movement forces you against the ropes that constrict your stomach, suffocating you.
"I find... a sniveling little brat, that just so happens, TO HAVE A BAT PROTECTING-"
A screech cuts him off, a flurry of wings diving directly into his face, what you could barely make out as a beak aimed at his eyes. The pain you're under causes you to take a moment to understand what's going on, as Joker swings a crowbar at the flying figure.
It was... Hood. Pecking and clawing at the Joker, doing whatever it could to draw him away. And it was working too.
That is, until Joker pressed down on his flower, causing a spray of gas to surge outward directly into Hood's line of flight. It slowed it down, a pause as Hood squawked in pain. A pause that was swiftly taken advantage of, as Joker swung a brutal arc into Hood, the crowbar sending the bird flying across the room and into a crumpled pile on the ground.
"No!" The scream tore itself out of you, a primal sort of agony you never thought you would ever feel after you had withdrawn from thoughts of your soulmates. It was like losing him all over again. Vigilante or not, Hood was a bird. Birds didn't typically survive a hit from a crowbar. If Hood died here, what would you do? One of the connections that had tormented you all your life, over just like that.
The scream drew Joker's attention back to you, a realisation that sank deeply in your throat. He approached you again, an air of casualness across his figure.
"Birds, what little pests. Good thing I always carry around pest spray." He laughs, adjusting the flower resting on his lapel. "I've always preferred bats." A thunk noise sounded out as he spoke, drawing your attention to a small cage he dropped.
It was a birdcage. Inside that birdcage was...
"Batman?!"
The bat inside was still, its gaze fixed on Joker's movements, but it did shift briefly to watch you for but a second as you spoke its name.
"Hahaha!" Joker's laugh was like nails on a chalkboard. "Turns out all you need to capture a bat is the right bait."
"How..?" You mumbled, the words unconsciously forming on your tongue due to the shock.
"Within a moment of my crowbar's acquaintance with your dear old head, Bats appeared! A bit of a nuisance at first, but a few threats at that neck of yours calmed him right down!" Joker admitted, the biggest smile you had seen yet on his face. He chuckled at the mere memory of it, as you shook in horror.
Two of your soulmates were now down. You couldn't stop shaking, horrified. All your options were dwindling and Joker looked more... murdery by the second.
Your attention was caught by a feeling of feathers brushing against your arms, the shaking making the thing touch you. You paused for a miniscule second, as you tried to think of what it was. Wait.
Was another one of your soulmates here? But rather than fight, this one was untying you? Or maybe gnawing at the ropes, whichever option was more plausible for a bird/bat.
Could you stall long enough to get out? It seemed like the only possibility left.
"Why...why do this? What enjoyment are you finding from this?" Maybe not the best line of questioning, but it was all your pounding head could come up with.
"Why?" Joker echoed, pausing for a moment. "Because I don't take kindly to cheaters. Me and Bats have something special. I dealt with my soul chain long ago, and yet! I find him cheating on me with this lousy excuse for a time waster!" He ends his shout pointing at you, a scowl on his painted face. It's possibly the worst expression you've seen on Joker yet.
"Aren't the other Robins his soulmates too? Why are you only targeting me?"
"I dealt with one of the flying rats long ago, quite a great plan if I may say so, but he just came back! I don't feel like wasting my time with this eternal game of wack-a-mole, so I've decided on a new method."
What's the method...?" You ask, reluctantly.
"You." He smiles.
He steps closer, withdrawing a gun from his pocket. "Thanks for the opportunity to capture Bats, my dear, but I've had enough of his chains getting in the way of our little game. I'll take much better care of little Batsy once you die, well, to an extent anyway! Hahaha!"
He tosses the gun up and down, carelessly as he walks towards you.
Up.
What could you do?
Down.
Hood was still crumpled in the corner, likely unconscious.
Up.
Batman was shaking the cage, unable to do anything else in its rage.
Down.
The unknown soul animal hadn't finished removing the ropes.
Across. The gun meets your temple, a few inches away from your head. You lock eyes with him. He pulls the trigger.
Pop! You flinch, coming face to face with a little Bang! flag that popped out of the gun.
You sigh, a momentary relief. You've been spared. You shift a little, feeling the ropes loosen. Your soul animal was doing its job well. You intake a few breaths, as Joker slaunters away from you, chuckling under his breath.
You close your eyes for a moment, trying to regain yourself amidst all the pain.
BANG!
"Agh-!" You jolt, shooting straight up. There's a pain in your cheek, a metallic liquid dripping down.
Turning your head ever so slightly, you spy the Bang flag lodged into the wall. It was a real gun after all.
But..
Why didn't he shoot you?
"Guns are a little too dry, don't you think?" You turn back around, immediately coming face to face with the Joker, an image that makes you flinch.
There's a crowbar in his hands.
"I don't ever repeat jokes, but, my first attempt with this weapon didn't stick too long. I don't want to lower the bar of my comedy, but maybe it'll work this time? Second time's the charm!"
"It's actually the third time.." You speak, nerves causing your words to tumble out. So that's why he didn't shoot you. He intends to make your final moments as painful as possible.
He smiles in response to your quip, lifting the bar up.
"W-wait!" You cried out, desperation pooling into whatever would give you a chance at survival. "Couldn't you do anything else?! Brainwash me, use me as a hostage, isn't it just a waste if you kill me?!" You practically scream the final words, your panic reaching a crescendo of horror.
The Joker's reply is simple.
"Nope!"
He swings.
BANG!
A bullet flies through his hand, forcing him to drop the crowbar as he pulls back.
You both turn, spotting a bulky man in black at the entrance of the warehouse.
He's wearing a red helmet.
"Joker.." The voice is deep, a threatening timbre you'd only hear replicated in nightmares.
"Let. The civilian. Go.â His gun clicks.
âUrgh. Speak of the devil.â Joker complains, unphased. âMy plans are being ruined and it's not even by Bats. What is the world coming to?â
âWaitâŚâ The Joker pauses, noticing a fallacy in the vigilantesâ words. âCivilian? Oh, HAHAHA! OHHhhh you have no idea whatâs going on here do you?â The Joker snickers in delight, giving you a conniving glance.
âOh my, oh my. I didn't realise you were also a jokester.â Joker squishes your cheeks, a little too harsh to be anything but painful. He laughs again at the expression on your face.
There's no response from the figure, but the bullet that Joker barely dodges the next second later is answer enough. It grants you and the Joker some distances, so you're grateful.
A flapping of wings draws your attention, a dark blue blur sailing through the room before landing on your lap. Nightwing.
You blink in realisation, finally understanding why not all your soul animals had appeared to help you. Wing had led one of the bats to you. You glanced over. Judging from the helmet, was this Red Hood.
Uh oh. You hoped he didn't notice Hood in the corner.
Or Batman. Or the soul animal freeing you- oh no you were absolutely screwed werenât you?
You gulp.
âWait.. You?â Red Hoodâs modulated voice didnât convey any emotion, but it couldn't disguise the hesitance in which he spoke.
Exposed.
âUhmmm⌠no?â You tried.
Wing nuzzled your cheek. Hoodâs gaze intensified.
âOkay! Okay yes, but I swear there's a reason why I never came to any of you- it wasn't because of you-â Oh dear that one was a blatant lie.
âI.. I mean, I just didn't want-â What could you do, what could you say? You didn't want to lie, but the truth wasn't good either.
In-between your frantic ramblings however, the Joker had snuck up on Red Hood, taking a lucky swing that missed by about a centimeter.
Red Hoodâs retaliation was swift, the two suddenly engaging in a battle of force that was very much leaning in Red Hoodâs favour. Although, ever so often Red Hood gave a wince of pain. Did Hoodâs soul animal formâs state injure him slightly?
That question would go unanswered, as the ropes around you crumpled, revealing Red to be the soul animal that had been bailing you out all this time.
Well. You weren't going to get a better opportunity than this. Pushing Red and Wing off your lap, you rush out, aiming for one of the broken windows.
Batman makes a slight growling noise as you pass his birdcage. You try not to think about it.
âHey!â A batarang flies past you, the rope attached to it meeting no target as you trip on some broken glass.
âAh!â You mumble, surprised at your good (?) forture. There's now a cut on your leg. Great.
Red Hood is subsequently distracted from any more attempts to detain you, as the Joker takes another swing that gets a little too close for comfort in response, laughing all the while.
Clumsily falling out of the window, you thank Lady Gotham that the Joker kidnapped you on the ground floor, so thereâs no drop whatsoever.
You sigh, injuries now taking a toll as the constant adrenaline was wearing off. You stumble forward.
Red and Wing land on your shoulders. Of course.
You limp out into Gothamâs alleyways, oblivious to the movement of a lithe figure on the rooftop, watching you.
----
Yeah those who guessed Joker were correct! Enjoy a cookie if you did! It seemed criminal to not have a chapter that explored how a soulmate universe would influence Batman and Joker's relationship, so that's what I did!
Oh and yeah, poor Reader. They are not having too good of a time rn. All these injuries aren't really gonna help them plead their case either.
A bit more of Jason this time too! How funnnn. I definitely feel bad for birdy Hood though. Red Hood may be super skilled but it's a little too unrealistic for him to solo as a bird :(

Over the years Tim had lead, taught and helped countless other teens come into thier powers and said teens looked at him like he hung the stars. They admired him greatly and wanted to do something to make thier mentor/big brother figure proud.
So when they found Tims soulmate they were absolutely ecstatic.
Yeah sure, the guy was the child of evil mad scientists and apparently the heir of a creepy fake vampire supervillian but they'd seen weirder couples in the hero community. They just needed to convince him to join the heros side!
Naturally they try to kidnap Danny and he has no idea whats going on other than a bunch of kids in superhero costumes are trying to abduct him. Between his powers as Phantom, that they seem to not know about (thank the ancients that ghosts don't show up well of pictures and that he started wearing a mask) and his own parents paranoid housebuilding techniques Danny escapes them easily.
Danny figured they would leave him alone eventually, right? If not he would have to call the cops for stalking and harassment.
If that didn't work he would just set all the house lazers to stun. Worst case scenario he might have to call the Justice League emergency line and yell at them to come get thier kids.
It would also be funny if he just kicked them out as Phantom

Soulmate au - first words on skin
âWoah, hey, you probably shouldnât be doing that.â
ââŚAre you my conscience?â
Person 1 is a vigilante helping someone with a probable concussion after an attack of some kind.
Person 2 is a person whoâs had many a philosophical debate on whether or not the words on their skin made them reckless or if they were reckless all on their own.

I realized I didn't post this piece here ???
So, jaytim fanart I did from a scene from my RPG where Tim is a nurse and Jason one of the Gotham's Crime Bosses and always end up being mended by Tim
Ps: I always forgot to mention that Tim is so tall because he's on the steps of the building where he and Jason live (yes, we put them as neighbors just to make it funnier) naturally he's our short king.

More for my soul mate au:
A list of bonds people have:
[if a bond is in a bracket like this then I took the bond idea from the comment section. Yall have great ideas and know some of the characters better than I do lol]
Bruce:
On his sholder he has greyed out bonds with his parents, royal blue with Alfred, Nightwing blue with Dick, midnight blue with Jason, sky blue with Tim, a tealy blue with Damian, a blurple with Steph, a deep ocean blue with Duke, and a pastel blue with cas
On his wrist he has an emerald green bond with Kate/ bat woman
On his calves he has soul bond with most of the Justus league and Selina
On his back be has the core justice league members, and all of the bat family members in a royal purple color
He has the mysterious pink bonds with Thalia, Selena, and Clark on his inner thighs. He pointedly refuses to talk about it
Personally I donât think he has a romantic soul bond, this doesnât mean he doesnât have any romantic relationships or interests. There has been cases were romantic bonds only form after knowing the person, itâs rare but it has been known to happen.
Dick:
On his shoulders he has the greyed out bonds with his parents and Nightwing blue bond with Bruce. (Bart has refused to touch any of the bat family members but when he does dick will get an electric blue bond with Bart) [he also has a child bond with Damian]
On his forearms he has bonds with Jason, Tim, Cass, Duke, and Damian. All in getting shades of green
He has a grandparent bond with Alfred on his right shoulder
On the back of his arms he has uncle bonds with Barry, Clark, and Diana
Dick has friend ship bonds on his calves with All the titan member, Barbra, and most of the Justus league members.
Dick has a romantic bond with Wally
Dick has trust bond with everyone he has bonded with and one member of the bludheven police
Jason:
Jason has a greyed out bond with the mother he was raised with (I canât remember her name but I believe it starts with a c?) and a bond with Bruce in his sholder
He has bonds with Dick, Tim, Damian, Cass, and Duke on his wrist. His bond with Dick is grass green but the others are Lazarus green. His dip in the green coolaid juice has tinted his soul bonds making each new bond he forms a little more green in color. Jason doesnât have a soul bond with Steph but that doesnât stop them from viewing eachother as siblings
Jason has uncle bonds with Clark, and Diana on the back of his arms. These are bright orange. Once Bart accidentally touches Jason and forms a merky orange nephew bond.
He has a merky red romantic soul bonds with Roy and Kory.
He has yellow green bonds with the outlaws on his calves and yellow bonds with some of the titans and Barbra
Jason has trust bonds with his siblings and his partners. It takes more time for a trust bond to form with Bruce.
Tim:
Tim gets a soul bond with Bruce on his sholder once Cass drags the both of them into a cuddle pile. Bruce becomes Timâs fith soul bond
Tim has sibling bonds with Dick, Jason, Damian, Cass, and Duke. The lack of sibling bond has led to Steph and Tim to date for a bit before realizing they were better as friends.
He has a grandparent bond with Alfred
Once young justice forms Tim forms friendship bonds on his calves for all the members (besides Bart who appears to be touch adverse, poor kid is covered in familial grey soul bonds, he has a lot of aunts and or uncles). He also has a friendship bond for Steph.
Once Tim is comfortable enough to visit the watch tower with Bruce he forms uncle bonds with Clark and Diana.
Tim has romantic bonds with Bernard and Kon. Konâs bond forms later into the relationship while Bernardâs forms right away. This leads to Kon being a little self conscious about his relationship with Tim and Bernard.
Tim has trust bonds with young justice and his family.
Eventually he gets a mortal enemy bond with Ra Al goul
Damian:
He has parent soul bonds with both Thalia and Bruce. [he also has a parent bond with Dick]
He only has one grandparent bond and itâs with Alfred
He has sibling bonds with Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass, Duke, and Steph. [and Maya]
He has uncle bonds with Clark, Diana, and Barbra.
I donât know enough about Damian to know who he would have friendship bonds with but I know he would have some. [friendship bonds with Jon, Collin, and Maya]
Cass
She has a parent bond with Bruce, this is her first bond. [and a parent bond with Barbra]
She has sibling bonds with Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, and Duke.
She has a romantic bond with Steph.
She has a nephew bond with Bart.
I know Cass will form friendship bonds but I donât know enough about her to know with who.
She has trust bonds with her sibling and Bruce
Duke
Outside of sibling and parent bonds I donât know enough about Duke to know who he bonds with
Steph
She has parent bonds with Bruce and her mother crystal.
She has sibling bonds with Dick, Duke, and Damian
She has friendship bonds with young justice and Barbra
She has a romantic bond with Cass
She has uncle bonds with Clark and Diana
Bart:
When Bart first gets to the past all his bonds have been grey or silver. No one knows why itâs silver and not grey (they havenât touched in the present but they bond hadnât died In the future so silver became the weird middle ground)
After he has touched everyone he was bonded with in the past and some new bonds:
He has parent bonds with Wally and Dick
He has uncle bonds with Jason, Tim, Damian, Duke, Steph, Cass, Kim, Bernard, Roy, Kory, John, and Barbra
He has friendship bonds with the rest of young justice
He has grandparent bonds with Bruce, Alfred, and Barry
So yeah this is what I have for whoâs bonded with who⌠đ
Edit: okay so thank you to the lovely comment section for input on the bonds! Iâll put every bond in [] are something I thought should include that I took from the comic section
A continuation here

Rockets Pointed Up at the Stars (Pt 1/2)
Inspired by this braindead rejected soulmates au post by @im-totally-not-an-alien-2. More art at the end!
Part II
Tim slumped down on the edge of an apartment building, leaning his weight against the rooftopâs fence. The alleyways below were deserted, criminals retreating to get a couple hours of sleep before sunrise. A perfect setting to catch a breather before ending his patrol for the night.
The Red Robin suit still felt wrong on him. He thought waiting a week to get accustomed to it would help, but he might have made a mistake when he tried to adjust it to be as close to his Robin uniform as possible without it being obvious. Heâd have to remember to alter it further the next time he got the chance, to see if wearing something entirely different would finally make him stop checking the shadows for Bruce. Patrolling Gotham alone felt too much like admitting he was really gone.
Just as he was about to move on, the rooftop access door slammed open.
Tim nearly jumped out of his skin as he whirled around, ready to either apologize, attack, or flee, when he met familiar glowing green eyes.
Subconsciously, he let himself breathe easy as he took in the otherâs appearance.
Phantom was an anomaly at the best of times. A phantom thief by definition, the criminal had simply appeared one day to cause chaosâlingering only to taunt his pursuers as he made a daring escape with whatever priceless treasure of the month. His motives were unknown, as was virtually anything about him besides his calling card (a green sticky note with nothing but âBOOâ written in permanent black marker), appearance, and a meta ability to phase through objects.
Of course, one couldnât be a phantom thief without a detective rival (or so the thief in question claimed). For some reason, Phantom had outright declared not Batman, but Robin for the role. Tim couldnât count how many sleepless nights were spent chasing after him, face red from a mixture of exertion and embarrassment. Because it wasnât enough for the admittedly good-looking criminal roughly his age to run circles around him. No, the jerk had to go out of his way to flirt with him the whole time.
He hadnât even thought about how Phantom would react to there being a new Robin. But looking at him now, a small part of Tim couldnât help but feel selfishly glad. From what he could see of the furious expression on his shadowed face and glowing eyes, it wasnât hard to see that Phantom was taking the change about as well as Tim was.
âI leave for two weeks, and suddenly thereâs a new Batman and Robin?! What the fuck, Detectiveâyouâd think to at least have the decency to tell a guy, but nooo, I had to find out through goddamn Victor Fries!â
Tim blinked, âDidnât Mr. Freeze retire after someone brought his wife back?â
Phantom paused his fury, shrugging a bit. âNora keeps track of everything happening in Gotham in case something her husband did to save her comes back to bite them.â
âHuh.â
âAnyway! It took me going after Victor to ask why there was a new Robin for me to hear that the actual Batman was dead, Gotham went berserk for a while as every other guy tried to take up the position, and somewhere along the lines you got the grand idea to add âredâ to your name! Which makes no sense, since you practically lived for that mantle and I wouldâve bet that youâd take it past the grave if given the chance.â
Tim winced. As per usual, Phantomâs words hit home in more ways than intended.
The thief stopped short, the glowing of his eyes intensifying as he looked over Timâs new identity. Tim didnât move as soundless footsteps strode forward, not even pausing as Phantom phased through the chain link fence to sit a couple feet away from him.
He could count on one hand the number of times Phantom had done this. One second theyâd be exchanging insults, and then suddenly the criminal would stop and stare, feeling like he was gazing into the depths of Timâs very soul. Each time, he called off their chase, insisting that Tim take a break and talk to someone about whatever was troubling him. It was uncanny how he could somehow tell when Timâs negative feelings were overwhelming his rational thoughtâBatman himself would use Phantom encounters to measure Timâs wellbeing at times.
Looking back, it was odd how Phantom would insert himself into every aspect of Robinâs life, but back off the second he sensed something was wrong. Heâd call attention to whenever Tim was particularly anxious, once even physically dragging Bruce over to âtalk to your son when heâs sadâ, but never offer any comfort himself. But here they were, Phantom obviously seeing something Tim could never hope to conceal, with no Bruce nearby to summon and make things better.
Timâs throat clogged at the reminder of yet another little thing Bruce might never get to do again. He couldnât be dead, not with how many times Tim checked the body and struggled to recognize the man whoâd become like a father to him.Â
â...IâŚI know weâre not exactly friends, Detective. But if you need to get something off your chest, I swear to never use it against you.â Phantom fidgeted with his cloak. From this close a distance, Tim could see the faint glimmer of sparkling purple constellations embroidered on the inside. For some reason, the sight of the soft fabric never failed to calm his nerves.
(It reminded him of a time long ago, when he held a gel ink pen and asked a mystery person to quit whatever they were doing that left his arms covered in star charts that didnât match anything in the Earthâs night sky.)
He didnât dare force himself to speak, for fear he might break this tentative peace. Thankfully, Phantom seemed to be taking initiative that night.
â...did you know that I used to be a teen hero?â
Timâs head jerked upright, meeting Phantomâs eyes. It was impossible to tell exactly what expression he was making behind the mask, but he got a sense of bitter nostalgia. âYou never talk about your past.â
A scoff, âYeah, âcause itâs depressing as fuck. Not exactly the sort of thing you can talk about causally.â
He chewed his lip, thinking. âYour suitâŚminus the cloak, it looks reminiscent of a uniform.â
Phantom fiddled with a cylinder hooked on his belt. It was the only piece of tech visible on his person, a modified soup thermos that somehow served as a near infinite item storage. Impressive, if not odd.
âYeah, the cloak is more of a blanket than anything else. I added it on when I got tired of looking at the same clothes I used to save my hometown in. ItâŚI didnât become a hero for fame. It was more trouble than it was worth, honestly. You guys nowadays have so much better support systems than when I was in the business. Makes me wonder ifâŚâ he trailed off.
â...whyâd you stop?â Tim asked gently, more than willing to throw himself into this new mystery now that he knew it was there.
âIt was too much. Everyone wanted me gone, even the people I was protecting. I was hated for my powers, for not always being on the scene when I was needed, for not ending fights faster and for the property damage my villains caused. I didnât live in a place with metahuman protection laws. The few people that knew my secret identity got tired of superhero life and ditched the first chance they got.â He sighed, âI was hurting, and was desperate for a way out.â
Tim frowned, âSo you moved to Gotham and started stealing?â
Phantom snorted. âNah, I was fucked up for a while after I ran away. Itâs funny, one of my rogues was the first to track me down and drag me to a hospital to get my injuries checked. Like a dozen of them got together for an intervention, I thought I was finally losing my grip on reality. I spent a couple months recovering, then took one of them up on a suggestion to try causing trouble for a change. Not anything super bad, butâŚâ
â...enough to feel more in control?â Tim suggested. It wasnât uncommon for people in bad situations to commit minor crimes, both for the adrenaline and the power rush. Tim himself had once poured his whole soul into tracking and photographing Gothamâs nighttime birds. A hobby that was more than a bit cringe-worthy in hindsight, and definitely creepy considering how much effort he put into stalking his idols. Honestly his young age was the only reason he didnât get put on a watchlist when he revealed himself to Bruce. That, and the whole I-know-your-secret-identity thing.
âOof. Yeah, thatâs a way to put it. Being hated hurt less when thatâs what I was aiming for, yâknow?â
Tim tilted his head. âI never hated you.â
A derisive laugh, âUh-huh. And you loved being led on goose chases when there were more important ways to spend your time.â
âIâm serious.â Tim shifted so that he was better facing Phantom. He didnât know why, but couldnât stand the thought of Phantom leaving tonight convinced he was universally hated. âYou only make a scene on quiet nights, and you always slowed down for me whenever I had to stop and intervene on some other crime. And you only target the private collections of rich people. Not anyone whose life would be ruined by something getting stolen. You even go out of your way to make sure the guards on duty donât get in trouble, even when it puts you in a strategically worse position. AndâŚâ
He hesitated. Bruce wouldnât approveâŚbut then again, there was that weird relationship he had with Selina.
âAnd it was fun. To chase you. It was challenging and frustrating, but your appearance meant that there was nothing else to worry about that night. We could just run regular patrols.â
Oracle was the one to make the connection. Tim didnât know where along the lines it became an accepted fact, only that Bruce was more comfortable about Robin patrolling alone when Phantom was making a move. A miracle considering what happened to the last one.
Phantom blinked, frowning a bit before his eyes went wide, a shaky smile forming on his lips. âThanksâŚit was fun for me too. Kinda the whole reason I kept setting up scenes for Robin to find.â
Tim laughed. The sound startled both of themâhe didnât remember the last time he genuinely smiled like this. It had to be sometime before Bruce was gone, at least.
âSoâŚâ Phantom hopped down on the railing of a balcony below, balancing precariously in the way that only he could. He looked up at Tim with an easygoing smile that did little to hide the concern underneath. âAs your self-proclaimed favorite rogue, wanna tell me whatâs up with the sudden change?â
He shifted a bit, grin fading. âWellâŚBatman died. He was facing Darkseid and got hit. After the chaos died down, Nightwing took up the mantle and made Batmanâs son the new Robin, to help him grieve or something.â
âI donât know where to start with that.â Phantom adjusted his hood, briefly revealing tan skin underneath. âYou sound like you didnât have a say in it. Wasnât Robin yours?â
Something bitter worked its way up through Timâs chest. âIt was a borrowed title anyway. I only took it up to help Batman, so it makes sense that I was dismissedââ
âNo.â
ââafter huh?â
Phantom strode up to him, poking a finger at his knee. âYou love being Robin. You donât have to justify losing your identity. It couldâve been taken in the name of world peace for all I care, that doesnât make it any less shitty. You just lost someone super important to you, and your connection to them was taken because someone thought your grief was less important. I donât care who the current one is, you are just as much Batmanâs son.â
Tim couldnât help the small sob that escaped. Or when it doubled, and tears started burning at his eyes. He rubbed at them in an attempt to stop them before they could make his mask go hot and sticky, but was startled out of it by a soft weight being thrown over him. He looked up to see Phantom leaning over him, securing the hood of his cloak over Timâs own head.
âYou looked like you needed some comfort. Itâs weighted.â Phantom shrugged.
â...thanks.â Tim pulled it closer, more than happy to latch onto yet another new focus. âHow do you move so easily in this? It feels like Iâm being hugged by gravity.â
Phantom chuckled, and it was at that moment Tim suddenly realized the other was floating in the air over him. Since when has he been able to fly?
âI use intangibility a lot, but itâs not my only power. It felt like overkill to use more than that in my heists. So I didnât.â
Tim groaned, âYou were going easy on me this whole time?â
âOh, definitely not. Iâm sure youâve noticed, but intangibility is arguably the most pain in the ass thing to counter. Iâm being annoying on purpose.â
Phantom grinned, and Tim couldnât help but analyze the full sight of him. Everything from his teeth to his ears was pointed, a sharp contrast to the wispy white hair that flowed smoothly in a nonexistent breeze. The most attention grabbing was a glowing green mark resembling a gash across his chest, roughly in the place where a hero would wear their logo. The sight of it made Timâs own chest ache.
âI donât think Batman is dead.â He said suddenly.
âWhat makes you say that?â Phantom asked, reclining on empty air.Â
It wasnât denial, not calling him insane or lost in grief. For the first time since his fight with Dick, Tim felt as though he could breathe again. âI know it sounds crazy, thereâs no proofââ
âWoah woah woah,â Phantom reached forward, gently pulling Timâs hands away from where he had started pulling at his hair. âSlow down. Walk me through your thought process.â
âIt justâŚit doesnât feel right. Not that I canât believe it if he died, but this specifically doesnât feel right. Iâd feel it if Br-Batman was deadâŚthere was a whole cloning facility where Batmanâs body was found.â
That seemed to spark interest in Phantomâs eyes. âYou think the body was a clone?â
âWhy would someone as powerful and precise as Darkseid drop everything and kill someone he was in the process of cloning? Why was he even trying to clone Batman specifically? Weâre missing something, and I think Darkseid is using everyoneâs grief to cover his plan.â
Phantom propped his chin on his hand, deep in thought. âDarkseidâŚIâve heard that name before. Does he have something to do with time or space?â
Tim practically sagged in relief. âHe can travel freely through both, and has a host of other abilities that give Superman a run for his money.â
He snapped his fingers, âAh, that Darkseid! Yeah, if he wanted Bats dead there wouldnât be a body left. Iâd bet my collection heâs lost in time somewhere.â
âThank you!â Tim gestured wildly, âYouâre officially the first person to hear me out. Like, is it really so hard to believe?â
âNo probs, Detect-o. Itâs not the weirdest thing Iâve heard, by far.â
âExactly,â Tim huffed, leaning back and sighing. âNow I just have to convince the Justice League so they can go back in time and grab him.â
âWhy not just get him yourself?â
Tim glanced over to where Phantom hung in the sky. âUnless youâre also hiding time powers in there, we kinda need the League to get to him. Plus I donât even know when in time he is.â
âLucky for you, I know a guy,â Phantom grinned. âThe Master of Time messaged me this morninâ, something about stopping Batman from breaking the time space continuum. Itâs why Iâm back in Gotham so soon.â
âYouâŚknow the Master of Time.â
âYep!â He popped the p.
âAnd they messaged you.â
Phantom hummed, âYou can imagine how it went when I tried to confront Batman a couple hours ago. The new Robinâs a menace, if I was any slower youâd have to deal with a Phantom shish kebab.â
Tim winced. It was never fun to be on the wrong end of Damianâs katana. Still, he focused back on the insanity at hand. âSo youâre saying you can just go back and rescue Batman right now?â
âNow that I know whatâs happening, yeah. Clocky probably already has a portal ready for me. Batman will be back before you can say âGothamâ!â
It was inconceivable. To think, the living nightmare of the past weeks would be over, just like that. His brain was screaming at him that this was some sort of cruel setup, that there was no way Phantom was telling the truth. There had to be a catch somewhere, some kind of punchline in the sick comedy that was the life of Tim Drake.
But his heart, the part of him that just wanted his dad back won out.
âWhatâs stopping you? Youâre not usually one to wait for a window of opportunity.â
Phantom rubbed the back of his neck. âNo, but I distinctly remember waiting for a certain vigilante. I was wondering ifâŚyouâd like to come with?â
Timâs jaw dropped. âYouâre inviting me, a vigilante who has attempted to arrest you dozens of timesâŚto travel back in time to save Batman, another vigilante who has tried to put you under arrest.â
âEmphasis on tried,â Phantom joked, before turning serious. âI mean itâitâs your family. Besides, it could be fun. You come with me on a time heist, instead of sitting back here worrying your pretty head off with all the ways things could go wrong. And you get to tell everyone else âI told ya soâ when you save Batman on your own.â
He tried to work his mind through what Phantom was offering. To be able to fix things, maybe not go back to the way they used to be (Damian might actually kill him if he ever wore Robin again) but to have Bruce back. It wasnât even a question.
No matter how smart Tim was, how he tried to plan things in advance the way Bruce did, he never stopped being the lonely kid who would sneak out at night to shadow his heroes. When Phantom reached out to offer a hand, Tim didnât hesitate.
âYouâre wrong, though.â
Phantom blinked, firmly gripping Timâs hand without hurting him. âAbout what?â
âI wouldnât be saving Batman on my own. Weâd be doing it together.â
A fanged grin matched his own, blinding him to the swirling green portal that formed around them. Before Tim could so much as wonder if he maybe shouldâve messaged someone about what he was setting off to do, they were already gone.

This was supposed to be a oneshot, but it got a bit long so I decided to split it up.
I really love this au, but I noticed that everyone has a tendency to hone in on the angst so much that the characters behind it get a bit lost in the process. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I wanted to try my hand at writing the misunderstandings without making either of them at fault.
(Insert rant about how the whole point of soulmates is that this person is a match for you, so even if you fundamentally are not good for each other you still get where the other person is coming from. There's so much more angst potential in not being able to hate someone no matter what they do to hurt you, but I digress.)
But yeah, let the boys heal and be happy! Also this is the closest I've gotten to actually writing romance and that's not saying much XD
Here's the design I drew for Phantom Thief!Danny. Feel free to drop an ask, I'd love to ramble more about this :D

Rest in Peace (Jason Todd)
Pronouns: He/Him
Warnings: Character Death, Gore, Fighting, Jason Dies, You Die, Zombies??? Angst
Relationship: Jason Todd x Male! Reader
Notes; This is something I came up with real quick, it's nothing long but it's something I was thinking about in case I wanted to continue this sometime.
Your mother always said you were a smart one. It was proven shortly after you had graduated highschool at the young age of 8, which was a surprise in itself but when you are determined at that age, nothing can stop you. Then you got your undergraduate degree, which took another 2 years, before taking the 3 years of medical school and then your 3 years of residency, all which amounted to now.
You rushed through your childhood to provide more for your mom, living in Gotham is bad enough, living in the Bowery meant only the worse. Constantly carrying a weapon on you (or in your case, multiple), running into criminals and prostitutes and people without homes. Children would run amuck, determined to live without parents and without rules. It was home because it was affordable, something to house you but it wasnât home, it couldnât be. It was often broken into, there were multiple times youâd have to wake up and fight for your life or for your mother.
So maybe you were never a child in the first place.
Thatâs why part of you was thankful for your soulmate. You knew his name, Jason Todd, you had communicated with him through your body, which sounded strange but it was the way you both talked. Writing on your own skin would show on his, but it wasnât just writing. Any pain and emotion was shared as well, and many times Jason was forced awake in the middle of the night because of your fights, and many times he has interrupted your schooling with fights during the day.
But you both apologized, and it didnât matter. At the end of the day, it was you two.
Until you died.
You were 16, at a college party that some Residents that you were in charge of talked about. They underestimated you, you hated them for that. You showed up to alcohol and drugs, for being this generation's future doctors, they sure were reckless with their lives.
It was fun, you drank a little because you wanted to let loose, and you wrote to Jason asking if he was okay because he hadnât responded. He still didnât but you figured he was busy, until you felt it. You feel your wrists bruising as if they are tied together, and it isnât long before your cheek hurts as blood fills your mouth, as if something had hit you. You coughed, before you were hit again in the ribs and your body stuttered onto the wall.
And then they busted in.
You donât really remember their faces, they all wore clown masks and purple suits, they held weapons. Guns, crowbars, bats, knives, and more guns. Everyone shrieked, some people attempted to fight back and were quickly silenced, and they commanded everyone to get on the ground. They seemed to be looking for someone.
It was you.
You fell to the ground and yelled in pain and the men grabbed your arm and pulled you to the middle of the room. âFound him.â One of them says into a walkie-talkie. You begged for them to stop, for your soulmate to be safe. They stripped you down into your underwear and laughed, before carving something into you.Â
One thing about sharing the pain with your soulmate is that you donât get any marks from it. You can feel it, and it will show for a while, but it wonât stay scarred. So while your soulmate is getting violently beaten, so are you.
Matching scars, matching souls.
They kill you soon after, between the two beatings you could barely stay awake for, the other goons start killing the students around you, and it's all going so fast. You can make out words forming on your wrist.Â
âI luv uâ itâs such a horrible spelling that you knew Jason was desperate. It made you let out a sob as you desperately tried to respond, it was spelled out in his own blood, and the only way you could respond back was with a poorly formed heart before you felt your wrist break.
You remember the burning before dying. Then nothing else.
It isnât until youâre digging out of your own grave that you remember everything. Youâre dressed nicely, in a suit your mother couldnât afford that was now covered in dirt. Your fingers are bleeding, but you stare at your grave stone instead. Well it isnât just your grave stone.
You had a shared one, with Jason Todd.
It seemed you both had died on the same day. While yours says âBeloved Sonâ, Jasonâs says âBeloved Son, Brother, and Friend.â which makes you feel just a little lonely. The angel statue that is supposed to bless your graves feels more hollow than comforting. But you stayed focus on the last line on yours and Jason's shared grave.
âTwo souls joined together at last.â
You still didnât feel whole though. And why were you alive now?
And why were you suddenly hungry for brains?

New soulmate idea, for romantic or platonic, instead of the first or last words you say to your soulmate, instead it's the worst thing you've ever said to them.
My thoughts are, after watching under the red hood, Bruce peels the Robin suit off of Jason's body and finds himself staring at the words "I'm not your father." written across Jason's arm.

Shared sensation part.1
Dp x DC crossover
So rejected soulmate au and clone tim au mix.
Danny had a soulmate, just like the rest of the worlds population. His soulbond type was shared sense. To explain, when a soul pair has this type of bond they end up sharing a sense, they could share their hearing, sight. Taste, smell. In danny and his partners case they shared touch.
Danny and his soulmate felt everything the other felt, including pain. Danny had always loved his soulmate even while not knowing them, he just wanted the best for them. That's why he always tried his best to stay out of trouble though it was hard to do that when your parents are the town wackos.
Danny was pretty mature for a 10 year old. So when he started to feel his soulmate getting hurt more frequently he was worried.
Danny grew up learning to hide bruises that he gained on his own and from his soulmate. He loved his soulmate so much and when he would find them he would protect them no matter what.
Then danny turned 13, for his birthday his parents and jazz decided to take him to Gotham to celebrate. Gotham isn't exactly festive but his parents what to get ectoplasm samples or whatever.
They ended up leaving danny and jazz in a small cafe while they whent out to look for ghosts. Then he saw him. A boy with black hair and beautiful blue eyes that set his stomach into a flutter. Who also had the same matching bruise on his neck.
Danny couldn't help himself he knew as soon as he saw him, danny just knew. "H-hay!" Danny yelled over to the boy, his gaze flicked over danny the same realization in his eyes. There was another boy next to him who watched the two interact with curiosity at the sidelines with jazz.
"Hi" the other boy says quietly almost as if whispering. Danny's smile was wide as he strutted over to his soulmate "hi I'm danny it's a pleasure to meet you" he says sticking out his hand excitingly.
This is it after so many years of waiting, he finally has his other half. Then in a flash Danny's hand is slapped away. The expression on Danny's face drops into one of confusion. His soulmate glared at him with cold eyes.
"W-why did you-" Danny asks put was promptly cut off by his soulmates harsh voice "I reject you" . Those 3 words, the 3 forbidding words you must never say to your soulmate. The worst thing you could ever possibly do to your other half, brake your bond.
Danny's, jazz's, and the other boys face all shared a look of horror. Danny and his soulmate quickly drop to the ground. Danny is clutching his chest dry gagging as he feels the bond he has so tenderly loved being ripped to shreds.
Danny let out a silent pained scream as he feels his whole body go numb before he passed out. Leaving his soulmate an opening to grab his brother and bolt out the door.
-------------------------------
Tim was curled up in his bed hyperventilating. What had he done. Why would he do that to his other half. Danny was his name. He just destroyed himself and another.
But, as much as tim regrets it, he knows it's for the best. Bruce would have never let tim become Robin knowing what type of soulbond he had. The bond that let him experience everything his soulmate did.
Tim loved his soulmate but not to the same accord as he did batman and robin. Tim was just trying to protect his soulmate, protect danny. Being a vigilante is painfull. He didnt want him to have experience it not the same way he did.
Severing their bond was the right decision. Tim knew it was best to let go.

The Pleasure of Understanding
Word Count: 694
Warnings: None
Red Robin (Tim Drake) x Fem!Reader ︜ęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸śď¸śęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸śď¸śęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸śď¸śęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸ś
It was another night in Gotham, and Red Robin and (Y/N) were on a mission together. They had been partners for quite some time now, and their dynamic was undeniable. Both highly skilled, they worked in perfect harmony as they navigated the dark and dangerous streets.
After thwarting a group of criminals, they retreated to a rooftop to catch their breath. The adrenaline was still coursing through their veins, and (Y/N) couldn't help but feel grateful for the unwavering support she had in Tim.
"You're getting better and better with your moves," Tim complimented, his voice slightly muffled by the mask.
(Y/N) grinned, feeling a sense of pride at his words. "Coming from you, that means a lot," she replied.
Tim chuckled softly, a rare moment of lightheartedness for the usually stoic hero. "Well, I do have a knack for spotting potential," he said.
The two heroes shared a brief, knowing glance before returning their attention to the city below. (Y/N) appreciated Tim's ability to read her without needing to say a word, and she knew he valued the same from her.
"It's all in the report," Tim finally spoke again, referring to the thorough analysis he had prepared before their mission.
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, playfully challenging him. "Have you ever seen me read a report?" she teased.
Tim's lips quirked into a smirk, his eyes meeting hers. "Then you should start reading the reports I write," he countered.
(Y/N) laughed softly, a warm affection for Tim evident in her eyes. "But then I wouldn't have the pleasure of listening to you telling me about it," she said.
His smirk softened into a gentle smile. "I suppose you have a point there," he admitted.
As they continued their patrol, (Y/N) found herself feeling more at ease with Tim than she had with anyone else. There was a mutual understanding between them that went beyond their roles as heroes. They had grown up together in a way, sharing their triumphs and struggles with each other.
"I remember when we first met," (Y/N) said, breaking the silence. "You were this scrawny kid trying to prove himself."
Tim's expression turned slightly serious, a hint of vulnerability shining through. "Yeah, I wanted to make a difference. To be more than just a sidekick," he replied.
"You've done more than that," (Y/N) reassured him. "You're a hero in your own right, Tim. Don't ever forget that."
He nodded, grateful for her words. "Thank you," he said softly.
As they continued their patrol, a sudden downpour caught them by surprise. Tim cursed under his breath, clearly displeased by the sudden change in weather.
(Y/N) couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. "You look like a wet cat," she teased.
His eyes narrowed playfully, and he retaliated with a mock glare. "I'd like to see you handle a downpour like this," he shot back.
Without missing a beat, (Y/N) grinned mischievously and reached for her utility belt, pulling out a small, compact umbrella. "Always be prepared," she said, unfolding the umbrella with a flick of her wrist.
Tim stared at her, a mix of surprise and admiration evident in his eyes. "You never cease to amaze me," he said, a hint of awe in his voice.
As they huddled under the umbrella, their shoulders brushing against each other, (Y/N) felt a sense of comfort and closeness with Tim. It was moments like these that reminded her why she enjoyed working with him so much.
In the midst of the rain and chaos of Gotham, Tim and (Y/N) found solace in each other's presence. They understood each other in a way that went beyond words, a connection that ran deep.
As they continued their patrol through the rain-soaked city, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the bond she shared with Tim. They were more than just partnersâthey were friends, allies, and confidants.
And in that understanding, they found strength and support in each other. They faced the darkness of Gotham together, knowing that they had someone to rely on, no matter the storm.

Rejected soulmate au but I made it worse instead of better
Danny, instead of just leaving, instead snaps and commits a series of murders as Phantom, rampaging across the city. His first victims were his parents who he mauled to death, then Vlad, then his so called "friends". Once he came out of the green rage induced fog he realized what he had done and sobbed somewhere in the woods around Amity.
He knew that the GIW would arrive soon, and well, he's already in this deep and he can't just let a government agency that hell bent on genocide and conquering/expirementing on the entities of an entire dimension do as they please so he takes his hanger out on them as he's always wanted.
Hes so glad Jazz is away for collage. She's safe from them. Safe from him.
Its a wonder Clockwork didn't try to talk to him. He probably knew it wouldn't do any good, and Danny is technically of the living and Clockwork isn't allowed to harm the living or control them, only influence them into taking different paths. Hence why he did the time freeze/rewind fiasco when Danny attacked him at the clock tower when he was 14. He wasn't allowed to actually fight him and honestly at that point Clockwork didn't need to. But now Danny had that time medallion in his chest courtesy of his alternate evil future self and Clockwork couldn't do anything.
Danny was 16 and far too powerful for the master of time to take on.
Danny demolishes the GIW like he was playing Doomed on the easiest setting. It was laughable how quickly they went down and Danny found himself enjoying it.
He always had to tamp down that feeling. That vicious glee he got whenever he took vengeance on someone who wronged him. It had always been a thought in the back of his mind that he may have been inherently evil at heart and that he would turn to the dark side eventually.
He wouldn't be like the fusion of himself and Vlad though. That was just a mildless monster destroying everything in its path. What was even the point of that? For all the darkness in his heart, he couldn't see that as anything other that sheer stupidity. He assumed it was Vlads half. The only thing the creep was ever good at was dragging everyone around him down.
Danny packs up and activates the Fenton houses Baba Yaga Protocal, causing his childhood home to grow legs and literally walk away. He eventually managed to find all of Vlads secret labs and treasure stashes, raiding all of them and stripping them of everything they had to offer.
Then he went to find his soulmates dimension in the comfort and convenience of a newer and crazier version of howls moving castle. He had no plans on harming them per say, but he wanted to know why. Why reject a soulmate you hadn't even met before? A person who either platonically or romantically is your perfect match and can understand you better than anyone.
Danny himself suffered immensely throughout his childhood. His parents mental and emotion manipulation and neglect had left Danny longing for thier praise and attention but also left him feeling hollow and confused. Being the children of Evil mad scientists made it difficult to be friends with anyone. Even if the kids weren't weirded out by them, the parents of those kids would tell them that they weren't allowed to play with him or Jazz in fear for thier safety.
Rumors about the Fenton parents experimenting on thier children eventually reached thier ears. That was when he realized that other parents didn't give them twice daily injections of ectoplasm into thier bloodstream.
Im lazy but heres more:
1. Danny as a kid 9-12 realized that Sam and Tucker were crappy friends. Sam often tried to chase away any other girls that tried to talk to Danny for any reason (she was getting better) and often was controlling or patronizing to him while using her parents wealth to get what she wanted. Whether she realized it or not, she was actually a lot like them.
Tucker, Danny decided, secretly hated him and had straight up admitted before that he only became friends with Danny to steal the cool tech from his parents lab, which Danny had allowed and risked getting hurt by his parents to make his friend happy. Tucker was always jealous of Danny, stating that Tuckers own life was plain and boring while Dannys was like the protagonist of an anime. Tucker was quiet about it, but Danny saw how much the other boy enjoyed seeing him fail.
He tried to hang out with his big sister more, cause she could understand and she loved him, right? He was standing outside her door again with his favorite ball (it had the constellation Pegasus on it!) and raised his hand to knock on her door when he heard her groan loudly.
He knew he wasn't supposed to eavesdrop but he put his ear to the door anyway. Curiosity had always been his greatest weakness. On the other side she was talking on the phone. To who he had no idea cause Jazz didn't have friends, but she was complaining about mom and dad and...him. she told her phone friend that she loved him, but only out of obligation. She was his sister and she had to care about him, even if she didn't want to.
Danny didn't understand. She had just said she loved him so why did his heart hurt so much?
He went back to playing with Sam and Tucker. They were what he had, even if he didn't like them, he could lie to himself and tell himself that he did. Just like with mommy and daddy.
If he keeps telling himself that he loves them than he will. If he keeps telling himself that they love him then they will.
Dannys always been good at lying to himself.
Still, the soulmark on his arm remained. It was a vague promise of a light at the end of the tunnel. A dream that someone would show him what real love was like and they would sweep him off his feet and take him far far away from this place.
So why...
2. Phantom doesn't make a name for himself in this new dimension right away. Yeah he had all this treasure he stole from Vlad but treasure isn't money and he had no idea if money from his dimension would even be valid what with all the protections the us had on thier bills to make it difficult for people to make fakes.
Selling gold bars and the like was easier said than done, especially if you actually wanted a fair price for it, and he'd rather have a hoard stashed away for his later plans to more easily take shape.
3. Phantom was an excellent thief, even without his powers, but hes in too early to be arrogant and this world was filled with super-powered villians and heros alike, all trying to make a name for themselves.
He refused to be anyones stepping stool to something greater. Not anymore.
Danny was as cunning as he was skilled. He disguised himself in seedy bars, talking up whatever heist he had made recently, saying whatever thief had pulled that off must have been the greatest, sometimes he ever went dressed as a swooning girl for the extra oomph.
It usually worked and some meat head would take credit for his crimes. Word would sometimes conveniently make its way to the cops and if Danny was really lucky the poor sucker would actually go down for his crimes.
All to muddy the waters. Its harder to connect all these crimes to him when half of them have convictions and the other half have nothing linking them together <3
4. Danny needed minions but he didn't want to tell them anything. He wasn't in the position to start recruiting younger supervillians into his army yet. That was much later in the plan.
No, he needed a mercenary. One who didn't ask questions.
Mr. Deathstroke came with great recommendations and had a great track record for getting whatever contract he had completed and he had a vendetta of some sort against the Teen Titans and Young Justice.
Yeah, he was a bit fruitloopy but he seemed perfect for the job he had in mind.
Danny would keep Deathstroke at a distance of course. He was a mercenary, a hired gun, not his friend. Some one else could easily hire him to get information about Phantom or worse, hire him to attack or capture Phantom.
No the only thing tall, dark and scary was getting from him was the money owed to him in the contract. Money he now had plenty of.
5. Danny never really considered that he would have to compete with other thieves.
He had made sure to steer clear of places like Gotham and Metropolis because of the heros there who always stopped thieves and revealed their identities. Danny didn't need that, no thank you.
But as he was doing one of his heists, the third one this month and the one he planned on sticking the blame onto another poor sap-freaking Catwoman ran into the room with a sphinx carved of some precious stone and Batman not far behind.
Batman locked eyes with him for only a moment, cowl meeting domino for a split second, and Phantom knew he had been found out. This wasn't Gotham. He had no idea how they had gotten here or when but Danny wasn't naive enough to think the worlds greatest detective wouldn't be on his tail after he saw Phantoms arms drapped in the "priceless artifacts" from the India section.
They very much had a price. His buyer had paid a hefty chunk in advance.
Catwoman, who Danny had silently sworn vengeance against, kicked Batman away from her mid brawl and launching him in the direction Phanton was escaping.
Crud. It was time to fight and he was so not happy about it. Danny did manage to get away with the use of his electric powers. Turns out leaving the lower half of your face exposed is a bad idea, especially if your opponent knows Thunder Punch.
He used an EMP pulse as he ran to fry any cameras and Batmans equipment before heading down the hallway and through a few walls. He turned invisible once he was far enough away and flew off into the night with his prize.
This buyer better not backstabbing him. He's in no mood to play nice tonight.

Thinking of people assuming Tim and Kon are dating because Tim is always going to the Kent's to get away from Gotham where in reality Kon is just happy to be an Alibi and stay out of whatever mess Tim and Bart get up to.
Then there's Bart who finds the whole thing hilarious at first gets more annoyed over the fact that people outside of the og yj assume it's Kon that Tim's dating, even other hero's but never him.
