look i have been in this area before mentally. it sucks and i wouldn’t wish this on anyone. but, and this is going to sound callous, but i don’t feel any sympathy for james somerton. even if i hope he’s like. not dead. But thats all the amount of goodwill im willing to give him. The more i think about this really, the more angry i am. 

ngl this entire situation is another example of how white people weaponize their mental illness to avoid consequences. Im seeing it in real time.

this man has a continuous habit of using self-harm as a get-out-of-jail-for-free card. in both of his apologies, he has worded his supposed attempts in ways that were clearly meant to guilt people who displayed his plagiarism and overall horrendous history of racism and misogyny. i say supposed because, while i’m not saying those are lies and this would he such a fucked up thing to lie about that i don’t want to think he has, unfortunately, it’s been proven again and again that his word can’t be trusted, as he’s known to lie to try get out of consequences. Hes a proven liar. him lying about this is actually the best case scenario, because no one should go through this entire situation, wouldnt wish this on anyone, but you can only do this so often before people stop sympathizing with you. is this callous? Yeah, but like. I’m actually fucking angry he cant straight up take no as an answer. that this is how he reacts realizing he cant be one of the Cool Kidz™️ on youtube anymore. he acts like he DESERVES a career, like its not a privilege hes lost due to his own actions.

He lied about apologizing and forgiving people, he lied about giving the money to hbomberguy to give to ppl he ripped off (yknow, instead of doing it himself), he lied about the jessie gender situation and rewrote the narrative to make it so he isnt the bad guy, and hes the victim all along actually!

what? were supposed to stay quiet about a man profiting off of other minorities because he wanted to be the spokesman for all gay people? people tried to solve this on a smaller, more private scales for YEARS and he kept doing it. it was clear that the giant public video was the ONLY way to get people to notice. So when I first got into DND and learned about drow I was instantly fascinated and horrified. Knowing very VERY little of the race at the time, I started to build my own little drow guy.

Tell me, what is it about drow men that Drizzt is the default character even when you don't know who the fuck that is??

I kid you not, I slapped together a quick character concept and I named him Drixitel, Drix for short, he left the underdark because he didn't agree with the values, he had two swords, was basically a nature ranger guy, and I gave him a displacer beast as a pet.

I went looking for character concept art on Pinterest and I tell you what, I was surprised to find a drow that had two swords and a big black kitty friend. I quickly discovered HIS name was Drizzt, which is painfully close to Drix, and had to sit back and stare at a wall for a bit.

I've kept my little drow guy around and he's changed a lot since then keeping only his name the same from his original creation. It still bothers me how close Drix and Drizzt are by name but I can't see calling Drixitel anything but by the first name he was given. I've waved it off as something like "maybe it's just a common name sound. Like John and Josh."

Really awful that this even needs to be a thought in my head at all but I’m dreading that if Liam Payne’s death is indeed a suicide, people will make it about ‘cancel culture’ and ‘mob mentality’ and whatever the fuck and dismiss and harass his ex and the women who’ve spoken out about his behaviour recently. Make no mistake regardless this death is shocking and tragic, but the internet is allergic to nuance, feel like its gonna get pissed away, all the allegations made ‘nought’ or excessive or all equates to harassment and bullying. Not my usual type of post but I felt like making a post about it after encountering several other posts online.

I know that the war on Gaza is an extremely emotional topic right now. But also, there are posts floating around every now and then that are taking advantage of those emotions to spread antisemitic (and other hateful) ideologies as well as propaganda. I think it is important to always be aware of those people and second-guess them at times like these.

It is entirely possible to condemn the actions of Israel's government and anybody who supports it without making antisemitic remarks, calling for another genocide or displacement of entire populations, or supporting the October 7 attack. And it works the same way the other way around.

Additionally, if you hate Jews, Muslims, or Palestinians and enthusiastically support the death or suffering of either of those groups then you are not welcome on my blog.

The interface of twee.net! A website created in 1994 to make an archive of information about the then thriving indiepop/"twee" music scenes around the world accessible. It has everything from biographies of important bands and labels to newsletters from the past so you can get a little glimpse into what it was once like to live as a pophead.

It still has the same appearance it has had since it was started making it a bit of a time capsule but it is still very useable and full of valuable information.

I'm currently a moderator on there who specializes in checking up on labels and adding new releases/completing discographies. I also like documenting newer bands who have formed recently to not have everything too stuck in the past. There are plenty of great discoveries I have made.
