chicken and dumplings used to be my absolute fav as a kid omg i haven’t had it in yearsss

It’s so easy babe hold on recipe beneath the cut

Ingredients:

12 c water

Salt/pepper/garlic powder to taste

1 can chicken broth

4 cans home style biscuits

pack of chicken breast tenderloins (or instead you could shred up a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store for more flavor! if you do this obviously skip the chicken steps below)

Steps:

fill large soup pot with 12 c water, add in chicken tenderloins and season pot with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. BE HEAVY HANDED it makes the broth taste good!! Set to med-high heat and boil for ≈25 minutes

Once chicken is cooked, remove from pot (turn off the stove during this part) and either shred or cut chicken up into small bites. Add back into pot, add in chicken broth. Return to boil.

Open biscuits and tear into small bite sized pieces, drop directly into pot. I usually use 3 cans, 4 if I want LOTS of biscuits. Once all biscuit “dumplings” are in the pot, cook for ≈10 minutes or until dumplings have mostly sunken

And that’s it!!! It’s so yummy I promise. This is how my mom made it growing up and it’s my favorite. The broth is so good you can drink it on its own I swear. Perfect comfort food.

So I've been working on a Fae AU and I just need you understand the brainworms I am DEALING WITH, my beloved spouse!!! Imagine for a moment: you've got wangxian morons both thinking that the other is a human. Wei Wuxian (the beloved Summer/Spring Court Fae), who has been stowed away in the Autumn Court all his life, has never met any Fae outside of the Autumn Court, and Lan Wangji (Winter Court Fae) has met all of the other Courts apart from the Summer Court (which is basically extinct apart from Wei Wuxian) and the Spring Court (because they have isolated themself from the rest of the world) so he's like "obviously this is just a human who is using charms to gain Fae features like the humans from the Winter Court". Cue wild shenanigans where they keep bumping each other and completely believing that the other is a human so being all like "this fucking human should NOT be here, also how is this human SO PRETTY?!?! HUMANS SHOULDN'T BE PRETTIER THAN FAE!!!" while the Jiang siblings completely believe that this 'Hanguang-Jun' Winter Court human pet is trying to seduce Wei Wuxian into joining the Winter Court despite not knowing what Court he's from, and Lan Xichen (and Nie Huaisang, a Night Court Fae) completely thinks that Lan Wangji is going insane whenever he talks about this 'Yiling Laozu' human. You felt youthful again, scared to get caught by your parents that followed with a lecture.

But there were no parents, no lectures. In fact, it was just the two of you, in your shared house, in your very own kitchen that you didn't mind messing up once in a while.

I’ve worked clothing retail for the past 6 years and I finally was able to get a new job this summer and I absolutely love it. I’ve genuinely never been happier and I can see and feel a difference with both my physical and mental health because of it.

Anyway, clothing retail is BRUTAL during the holiday season for a variety of reasons, and words cannot express how happy I am that I don’t have to do it this year. And I’m so excited to actually enjoy holidays again.

I’m usually the most anti any holiday person (will give Halloween the single exception) because they’ve caused me nothing but turmoil for 6 years. So it’s November and I’ve already started holiday baking in anticipation and I’m so happy to get back into baking and just finding holidays actually enjoyable again.

That whole Grinch had his heart grow three sizes thing is real, my dudes.

Ingredients: - 3 eggs - 4 cups chicken stock or broth - 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce - 1 teaspoon ground ginger - 1/4 tsp EACH garlic powder, onion powder - 1/8 teaspoon pepper - pinch red pepper flakes (optional) - 2 tablespoons cornstarch - 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil - 1/4 cup chopped green onions plus more for garnish - Additional Salt and pepper to taste Directions: 1. Whisk eggs together in a liquid measuring cup. Set aside. 2. Whisk together all the ingredients except eggs and green onions in a medium saucepan until smooth (OFF HEAT). 3. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce to a simmer and stir the stock in one direction with a fork to create a "whirlpool" effect. 4.
