JJK men and what type of workout i think they’re gf would do

Sukuna ~ Weightlifting

I think Sukuna would prefer to have a strong partner that he would be able to lift with.

I’m talking you guys go lift together like 5 times a week and you always show up in matching oversized sweatpants and hoodies as your pump covers.

You are ALWAYS yelling at Kuna to do his dynamic stretches or at least warm up before he starts lifting but he’s already on the bench repping some obscene weight before you can finish scolding him.

You guys do the same lifts generally but in different font. Don’t get me wrong you’re strong as hell but obviously no one near Sukuna’s ability.

You loooveee lifting with him because you know you won’t have to touch a weight until you’re actually lifting. He loads all your weights and re-racks them for you despite the constant grumbling coming from his lips while he does it. He would never admit it but he secretly likes doing it for for you because it lets everyone else know who you’re with in case they missed y’all walking in together.

You’re always catching him in the mirror or across the gym shamelessly raking his eyes over your body while he’s between sets. He’ll text you from across the gym saying how “hot you look when you’re sweaty” and that he “can’t wait to do cardio at home”. But hey he can’t help that pumping the iron gets blood pumping somewhere else too.

Gojo ~Pilates

Gojo loves calling you a pilates princess when you get ready for your classes and you’re wearing your cute little matching yoga pants sets and your hair is up all cute to which you always just roll your eyes at.

He is so excited when you ask him to join you one day because he thinks it’ll be so fun doing a silly little workout and getting to watch his beautiful girlfriend in her natural habitat…boy was he in for a rude awakening.

Gojo is quickly humbled about 10 minutes in on the reformer. when every muscle is shaking and aching and he glances at you and all the other cute girls not even breaking a sweat yet. As a matter of fact you glance his way and SMILE at him, you smile at him like you’re enjoying his pain (secretly you are). He’s also in awe of you as you effortlessly move through the movements in time and do the more complicated options for every movement.

Gojo literally falls off the reformer and gives you a lopsided grin as he gets back up until he sees the scathing look you give as a silent message that he’s embarrassing you and he needs to lock tf in. So lock in he does because that look just gave him a renewed strength as you guys finish out the class together.

His legs are shaky as you guys head back to the car and he can tell his muscles will be on fire tomorrow. He’s extra dramatic saying that you need to drive and that he also needs help getting in the car. So it’s safe to say he has a newfound respect for you and all the pilates girls, now opting to refer to you as a pilates soldier.

Kento ~ Yoga

Going to yoga classes after work with you are his absolute favorite. You guys go together everyday after work and it’s what he looks forward to the most.

You attend the same class every time and it’s as if there’s a weight lifted off of his shoulders every time he walks through that door. it’s a small class with around 8 other people to which Nanami knows the names of them all and often makes small talk with before the class.

He enjoys when the instructor walks in and dims the lights so he can bask in the warm glow of the lamps and let his mind empty as he matches his breath to his movements. Since you guys have been going for a while you need minimal instruction and focus solely on your breathing and movements and releasing energy with each breath.

Kento always walks out feeling refreshed after letting his stressful work day ease out of his body in those grounding 60 minutes. He can now go home with you and focus solely on spending time with you and enjoying your company for the rest of his evening instead of thinking about work,like he used to before you started taking him to yoga with you.

He loves it so much he sometimes asks you if you want to go to an early morning class on Saturdays with him so he can start the weekend off right.

Choso ~ Heated mat pilates

Unlike Gojo, Choso does not doubt your strength whatsoever. He sees you come back from pilates drenched in sweat and looking like you went to hell and back and just knows that you would fuck someone up.

He’s honestly kinda scared when you ask if he’d like to join you in a class because fuck why wouldn’t he be. Nevertheless he cannot refuse you as you look up at him with your pretty eyes and that ever so endearing smile of yours.

Makes it a point to do some research and watch some videos of classes before hand so he knows exactly what he’s getting into. Maybe even do a few at home videos while you’re at work. Maybe he even pulls the space heater out of storage and sets is right next to him just to get the full effect…He’ll be damned if he goes into this class getting humbled like the rest of these boyfriends.

You are intrigued to see how the class will go with Choso since it’s his first time but you are pleasantly surprised when he’s moving through the movements with ease. I’m talking he looks like he’s done this just as much as anyone else.

The instructor and all of the other attendees are also noticeably surprised and look at your boyfriend with awe . They give you looks and nods of approval as if it’s them telling you he’s welcomed back.

Choso is eating it up when he hears all the other girls telling you guys how impressed they were and asking if he will be joining any other classes. He’s as happy as can be on the drive home while you’re singing his praises in the car because this is all he’s trained for.

Suguru~ Running

Suguru respects the fuck out of your self discipline. Often going on early morning or late night runs and pushing your body to its limits oftentimes.

He often asks to accompany your to which you always decline saying that you train pretty intensely that that you wouldn’t want to subject him to that, especially at times when other are usually sleeping. Suguru insists tho, stating that he worries about you when you go for runs when the sun isn’t out yet. So after much persistence on his part you agree.

You take Suguru through your stretching routine before you depart. You decide to take him on one of your more mild routes through your guys favorite park, that way there’s lots of benches to rest at just in case.

Suguru being good at everything breezily keeps pace with you. Which is good for you because although you love your boyfriend, you’re not used to running with other people and aren’t sure how to adjust your pace accordingly.

You guys share an airpod opting to listen to an audio hook or podcast on your guys’ 3 mile run. that way it’s also mentally stimulating as well as physically.

Suguru might have discovered a new found hobby. He appreciates the peacefulness of running, especially when there’s no one else around. As if it was just you guys and the pretty park. He especially likes when you guys finish your run just in time to see the sun peak over the horizon in the beautiful hues of red and orange. Yep, he could get used to this.

Toji~ Boxing

Toji introduced you to boxing when you guys first started dating. You would often accompany him as he trained at the gym. Watching him was always entertaining to you, they way he simultaneously moved so gracefully while also throwing devastating blows to his opponents be it pads or people.

He is taken aback when one day you ask if he would train you. Obviously he shouldn’t have been that surprised seeing how often you would attend his training sessions and ask him questions here and there. But still he can’t say he isn’t just a tad bit surprised when his beautiful delicate little angel of a girlfriend tells him she wants to train with him.

Toji who admittedly is more than a little pissed off when he walks into the gym with you this time when all of the guys he trains with let their eyes linger just a little too long on you. He picked out your outfit himself to ensure you wouldn’t get ogled by them but I guess seeing a pretty girl in athletic wear really does something to these guys.

It only takes one look from Toji for everyone to get the message that they need to avert their eyes because they know he won’t hesitate to drive any of them through the concrete floor.

after that’s taken care of. He dives right into a stretching routine before he walks you through various footwork drills and taking you through head and hand placements.

Afterwards you get to watch your ripped boyfriend let loose some pent up aggression on some poor soul that made the mistake of looking at your butt while training with Toji. Win for you, loss and maybe ambulance for them.

• When I read your information my thoughts immediately went to 007n7 — I have an amazing feeling that he would be in love with you so much, and for so many reasons too! You would’ve met him before the game happened and before c00lkidd turned insane.

• You were so sweet towards him when he met you… he’s never really experienced many interactions with other people like you since many people disliked him due to c00lkidd’s actions— but you didn’t care, why would that stop you from being kind to him? • Once you guys date after a while, I feel like he would ask you to move in with him and c00lkidd as the next big step into your dating life, and once you do, it’ll be the best decision ever as the trio of you three are always having fun, like dancing with 007n7 and c00lkidd, or taking him to the park while you both watch him, and sometimes you both join him (one time you had to get 007n7 unstuck out of one the slides— I won’t be going into that though…).

• 007n7 is always bringing tiny trinkets home for you, and they have a lot of thought put into them, and don’t get me started on the kisses… he’s gonna kiss you every second of the day if he possibly can… c00lkidd always whines whenever he sees his dad kissing you in front of him, causing you and 007n7 to laugh and then give him kisses on the cheek (he stops complaining if you do that).

• 007n7 always catches you daydreaming, and teasingly asks you if you were daydreaming about him— which results in you lightly slapping him on the arm, and you both always have such entertaining conversations, anything that has drama in it is the most top tier, he’ll tell you all the tea.

• He loves seeing your drawings, he’ll compliment on them everytime, and it’s even better if you draw something with him in it, and I feel like you would also get him into drawing as a healthy habit to do together— also you guys have a playlist you share together with your favorite songs, and you never fail to get him into more new bands and singers.

• If you were to ever overthink he’ll be there to help you out any way he can, whatever it is you’re worrying about you will be reassured by him, and will try to get your mind off whatever you’re worrying about, and will try to solve it for you if you wanted.

ohhhh boy i could write a whole essay about this. i'm going to try to break down why an american pope bodes very ill for catholics and the world as a whole

for context, i'm american and i was raised catholic. went to catholic school, had communion and confirmation, the whole nine yards. my parents are from brazil, the country with the largest catholic population in the world. my parents' ancestry is italian, which speaks for itself. in short, catholicism has long been a significant part of my life, my family, and my culture.

a lot of "cradle catholics" (people who grew up in catholicism) describe it as being more of a cultural thing for them than religious, and for good reason. for countries like brazil, mexico, italy, and france (among many others), catholicism is woven into the culture and history. you cannot separate the two. even if you are, for instance, an italian raised by atheist parents who has never set foot in a church your whole life, you cannot escape the influences catholicism has on italian society and politics. catholicism is as much a culture as it is a religion.

one cultural norm catholicism heavily emphasizes is collectivism. even the concept of a pope-- a cleric king elected by clerical elites, with no democratic input from followers-- is a reflection of the expectation that the flock follows the leader. this manifests in many ways:

catholic guilt™. you are taught from an early age that you are stained with original sin, and only through confession, penance, and good deeds can you cleanse yourself and be worthy of salvation. humility is a highly valued virtue. if you do a good deed then brag about it, it's canceled out, because your pride is a sin in and of itself.

huge emphasis on volunteer work and community service. many catholic schools count hours spent doing volunteer work as credit hours that are required to graduate. my church and school ran charity drives and fundraisers for a variety of causes: toy drives for christmas, food drives, preparing menstrual kits for homeless women, beach clean-ups, and so on. you are expected to help the less fortunate and serve your community in any way you can.

resisting consumerism. i distinctly recall my religion teachers encouraging us to minimize our consumption and waste. we would ask ourselves, "do i really need to buy this thing? do i have something similar at home? could i make one myself or buy one secondhand for cheaper? when i no longer need it, can it be given to someone else, or will it end up in a landfill?" we were taught to reflect on our impact on the earth and be environmentally conscious. (as an aside, many brazilians i know have mild hoarding problems. i believe catholic guilt™ plays a big part in it. whenever i throw something away, i feel a deep shame, as if i'm personally responsible for climate change.)

vows of chastity and poverty for clerics. not getting into the church's abuse scandals (that's a whole other essay) but catholic clerics are expected to abide by strict rules in their daily lives. remaining unmarried, not pursuing wealth, fasting during lent, praying daily, reducing all other distractions so they may better focus on serving god. many catholic saints were hermits and anchorites who isolated themselves and lived humbly to devote themselves to worship. cradle catholics are thus bewildered by protestant (especially evangelical) preachers who are married and wealthy. from a catholic perspective, that is a person lacking in humility, and thus not one you should follow.

all of this is inherently at odds with the individualism of american culture and of evangelical christianity. it's why you see catholic converts-- many of them from evangelical backgrounds-- who are overly zealous about things cultural catholics consider insignificant. for instance, evangelicals (and protestants in general) are really big on bible study. however, catholicism says only respected clerics can interpret the bible. it is not for laymen to try to understand god's word. obviously, this would chafe for someone coming from a background where you are told you have as much authority as a religious scholar to interpret god's word.

i have a theory that catholic converts, particularly from protestant backgrounds, converted because they wanted the legitimacy that comes with the largest and oldest christian denomination in the west. they then approach catholicism with the same individualist attitude they have in their previous religion, leading to derision from people who were raised catholic and resent that self-absorption and arrogance. it's why so many catholics find jd vance repulsive. he claims to be catholic yet spews divisive and hateful rhetoric and cites scripture to support it, even though in the eyes of the catholic church he has no standing to do so.

an american pope is like an oxymoron. america has always, from its colonial days, been predominantly protestant. catholics were long considered undesirable. even the kkk, who are white christian nationalists, are ardently anti-catholic. an american pope seems like a bad choice because america is not the kind of culture or society that values the things catholicism values. pope francis was certainly not perfect, but he did embody the virtues catholics prize: humility, charity, and compassion towards the downtrodden. it's worth noting that francis's top two goals were to a) clean up the church's finances so more money could be redirected to helping the poor and b) opening up the church to groups that have historically been excluded, like women and the lgbt community. it is no surprise that he embodied these traits, given his argentine heritage. he grew up in a country that is heavily catholic and suffered under a brutal military regime, hence his aversion to right-wing populism.

this new pope does not have any of that in his background. in fact he has taken stances that are completely opposite to what francis tried to achieve, which seems like a bad omen given the extreme rightward swing many countries are facing. his most recent voting records indicate he's republican, and his tenure in peru does not inspire confidence that he will continue francis's work of prioritizing charity and compassion above hate and exclusion. the last thing the world needed was an american republican becoming the supreme leader of the largest christian denomination.

I’m gonna be so honest I’m not religious so I don’t get why everyone is excited about an American pope 😭😭 like idk what this means to Catholics like why is that a good thing? It should be a bad look given the state America is in even??? Why is everyone hinging their hopes on this half these ppl are probably pedophiles right ?? Like what am I missing

Okay, hear me out (I know this might be controversial but still…) I love both James and Jaegyeon but they are fundamentally different as lovers. Here’s my no-sugarcoating, brutally honest two cents on how each of them would be in a relationship:

Jaegyeon:He comes off like a total bitch on the surface, but deep down? He’s a devastatingly soft, pining, and hopelessly devoted puppy. At first, he won’t act gentlemanly—nope, not even close. Especially during his current blonde era, he gives off that annoying energy of guys who watch YouTube videos about how they're "too tough" to need a girl. But plot twist? He has a massive crush on that one girl who shows up at the same petrol pump as him.He’ll pursue you, but in an incredibly tsundere way. Like:

“Why are you even talking to that guy? He’s totally going to break your heart.”

“And why do you care, Mr. Na?”

Rough around the edges? No—very rough. But gradually, once you start noticing the little things he does—like letting you into his car even though it just came out of service, stocking your favorite drinks just in case, or quietly dropping you home—you realize there’s a tenderness there. He’s not bad. Not at all.

Once you’re actually in a relationship, though? Don’t expect roses and candlelit dinners. Sorry—no flowers and cheesy stuff. Fights will happen. Screaming, shouting—you name it. But in the middle of it all, he’ll catch himself, stop, and try to pull you into a cuddle. Still, he’ll give you space when needed… albeit very, very reluctantly.

You can be completely silly with him too—he’s totally down for theme parks, car cafés, and dancing in the rain.

Now the not-so-pretty part: If you guys ever break up, he will let you go. Not in a “get lost, I’m better off” kind of way, but because he loves you too much to keep hurting you. His maturity will come through here. It’ll hurt—a lot. He’ll be a mess after the breakup. Jealous if you move on. But eventually, when he sees you smile genuinely after a long time, that aching part of him will finally let go.

Now to ......

James: Let’s skip teenage James for now (that deserves a whole other conversation) and talk about adult James—both when he was an idol and now as he is.

When he was still in the industry and you two were together, he wouldn’t even look at anyone from the entertainment world. Not because you were some “special princess” above actresses or models—no. It’s just that the risk was far greater. He already had Charles breathing down his neck, and a relationship with someone inside the industry would be much harder to hide. So weighing on the scale of vulnerability, dating someone outside, someone “normal,” was easier to conceal, protect, and cherish.

That said, James will be a gentleman. Gallant, suave, respectful—he treats you like a lady.But he’ll make it up to you with luxury—gifts, trips, anything you want—except his time.

Even in arguments, he won’t raise his voice. He’ll stay calm and composed. He’s the type who’ll quietly keep track of your preferences, your quirks, your dreams—you’ll feel like the one person in the world he truly sees. And you are. You’re the tiny corner of his heart he protects at all costs.

To wrap it up: Being with Jaegyeon is chaotic, rough, and emotionally intense—but the guy’s got the right heart.Being with James? It’s a dream… until it’s not. And if you ever try to end things, be prepared: leaving James Lee is not something anyone does easily.

More Rdr2 modern AU thoughts no "criminality" in this. I just can imagine them living in some sort of commune centered around a ranch. (this was inspired by Dutch talking about the Paris commune) I changed a few ages so it fits more modern society and like most of them don't really have exact ages. Some aren't as fleshed out as the others but it's not cuz I like them less or more.

Hosea(55) : was the one who bought the ranch with Bessie then slowly Dutch, Arthur and John came to live here too. When she sadly passed away he was glad they were here. Him and Bessie were a foster home, which is how Arthur and John met them. He sees Abigail as the daughter he and Bessie would have had and therefore think of Jack as his grandson. Bessie and him were teachers in primary school.

Dutch (45): got elected mayor of the commune somehow, it doesn't actually do anything but feeds his need of power so it's cool. He is the one talking to the law and intruder most of the time if there's a problem, can't deny he has a way with word. Has like 3 accusations of starting a cult. It is unsure how he and Hosea met and when, everyone gets lost with all the stories they tell.

Arthur(36): lived here almost his whole life but can spend months away on some weird roadtrip and then comeback. Learned many different job to help around. Spend his free time either drawing or enjoying nature. Likes shooting competition too. He's chronically ill/ disabled because of tuberculosis, he's doing better than a year ago but the sequel will follow him all his life.

John (26): hated living here at some point, couldn't find anything he was "good enough" at. After taking a self discovery journey (and fleeing the responsibility of being a father this young) he found out he liked herding the cows or sheep. I can't really imagine him and Abigail still being together in a society that doesn't push women to find men like in 1899. I think there would be tension at first but they'd end up sharing "custody" of Jack, after all they live in the same "town" (and Hosea would kill John if he didn't take care of that kid)

Abigail (24): arrived here with luck, mother of Jack she would have probably aborted if she didn't have a pregnancy denial cuz she feels she's too young to be a mother (which she was, she finished high school only a year or two before!) Hosea loves teaching her the rope of the ranch, she is family after all.

Uncle (67): Came at some point, acted like he belonged and never left. Nobody can tell how he arrived. He usually goes into nearby town to buy or sell or... Well avoid work at the commune.

Susan (49): She knew Dutch for a while now and after some health related issues he decided to offer her to live at the ranch, she greatly helped with setting up everything that the commune became.

Bill (31): after getting discharged by the army he couldn't find any places that wanted him, struggled with homelessness for a while until he joined the commune. He's very helpful when it comes to muscle jobs which they clearly lacked when he joined. He probably works on the day outside the commune to make himself some money, it's mostly helping with manual task.

Javier (26): just like in the OG story he got taken in by Dutch, Trelawny somehow managed to help him get documents so he could be legal. He's an aspiring musician.

Karen (24): She was on a roadtrip when she discovered the commune, she stayed for a while before leaving and then returned a year or so later as she couldn't find anything to please her way of living in the rest of society.

Mary-Beth (23): Met Arthur in one of his roadtrip and absolutely fell in love with the stories he told her, she asked if she could join the commune in hope of finding inspiration for her books.

Tilly (21): She got to be in the commune thanks to foster care after losing both her parents. She sort of grew up with John and loves going into the city and meet people, she spends lots of time with Mary-Beth discussing their respective lives. She probably does tik tok videos to explain how they live in the commune. Her, Karen and Mary-Beth probably take Arthur with them when going to protest march and even tho he's not fond of crowds he always come if they ask.

Molly (27): A rich girl who discovered the commune through Tilly's videos. She decided to live there as a way to rebel against her family. Despite her upbringing she loves the place and the people but never shows it.

Lenny (19): studying in the university in the biggest city near the commune, Dutch met him the day he initially got rejected from uni, he said he could use a guy like him once he'd graduate and somehow found a way to have Lenny accepted. Comes in the commune when he's on holidays or to study before exams.

Sadie (30): After losing her husband in a fire she tried to kill herself, thankfully Dutch and Arthur saw her and stopped her. They took her to the commune, she still suffer from depression but is starting to feel like living again. Spend a lot of her time with the animals. She used to live in the ranch her husband inherited.

Charles (28): When he was only a few years old he was separated from his mother, remembering very little of her and her heritage. He was given to his father who became an alcoholic as time passed. He visited a lot of tribe to try and find his heritage, when passing in the region of the commune he met Arthur and they talked for a while as Arthur guided him to the local tribe. He comes from time to time, stay for a while. It's like a second home.

Sean(24): tried to rob them in order to feed himself when Arthur caught him and brought him to Dutch the latter decided Sean could be forgiven by working around in the commune, he hasn't left since then.

Kieran (28): after an incident in the ranch he worked at, Kieran tried to find a new place to live. He first found a job with the O'Driscoll but didn't like it. He accidentally entered the commune and they thought he was a robber. After he explained his situation they let him go and he decided to stay there.

Pearson (38): he takes care of the general store but it isn't really a general store it's more like where everything is centered to make it more accessible to the rest of the commune. He arrived here after hearing about it in a nearby city, thought it might reminds him of his time in the navy.

Swanson (47): Pretty much like in the game Swanson went through a lot and lost his faith, Hosea and Dutch took pity of him and offered to help him find peace again in the commune. After he got better and decided to serve as the clergyman of the group.

Strauss (53): I think that the canon version still work quite well for him, I can see his family being Austrian immigrants in a big city and deciding he should live in a more rural place and that's how he ends up in the commune. He takes care of everything that falls under bookkeeping (be it money, materials or food)

Trelawny (41): doesn't actually live in the commune but he's a long time friend so he comes by often.

Jack (5): everyone's favorite boy, spent his two first years living with Abigail (who was kindly helped by Hosea and sometime Arthur) right now John and Abigail found an agreement and he spent half his time with Abi and the other half with John. They do some activities all together too.

There's probably lots of inaccuraty since I don't live in the US and like unless it's disrespectful I don't really care lol

A month after Tim spends the night with Hina Faazi he discovers he’s contracted an STI.

The very first thing he’d did when he got back on base was request testing, everything from Syphilis all the way through to HIV. His samples had been rushed to the lab at the Major’s request and he’d popped positive for chlamydia.

The only reprieve is that he hasn’t let you near him since he fucked her for fear of this exact thing happening.

“Do you think I was intentional?” You ask him as the two of you digest the news over a couple of beers in your private spot overlooking the valley.

“She pulled the condom off halfway through.” He informs you as he takes a long pull from the bottle. “So I’m gonna assume she was trying to fuck us over one way or another.”

It’s the first time he’s talked about the nuts and bolts of what actually happened. Until now it’s been placed in a box at the back of his head with all the other bullshit that’s happened to him over the years. “I put a fresh one on as soon as I realised but apparently 30 seconds is all it takes to catch The Clap.”

You’re relieved he had the fortitude to focus on that because you can’t stand the idea of Hina turning up in nine months’ time to tell you there’s a baby Gutterson on the way. As irritating as taking a fuck load of antibiotics is to him, the long term effects of you contracting it could have been catastrophic to your future.

“It makes all those nights with blue balls worth it.” He tells you as he lies back on the blanket you’ve put down, staring up at the stars. “I can’t wait to be done with this shit and get back stateside.”

It was decided that evening in the hotel that this would be your last tour. Your contract is up for renewal and you’d both made the decision to retire from the military. You’ll be going home for good in a months’ time and Tim will be staying on for another year until his own clock runs out.

Your main concern about leaving isn’t the distance between you, it’s about what happens in your absence. The new Intelligence Officer won’t have the same investment in Tim’s wellbeing, they won’t tell Hina to go fuck herself if she offers them intel in exchange for another night with him, which is what you believe she’ll do now that she knows there’s a personal connection. You fucked her and now she’s fucking him to fuck you.  

“I can see those wheels turning Lucky.” Tim says, tilting his head to study the profile of your face. “You’re thinking three steps ahead in a game you’re not a part of anymore.”

But Tim is, he’s the king to your queen and when you leave he’ll be in checkmate.

It’s a couple of weeks later that Tim raps his knuckles on the door of your quarters.  You’ve seen each other naked more times than you can count at this point but he still has a healthy dose of respect. It’s one of the thing you admire the most about him.

“You hear about Hina?” He asks as you fold another of your shirts, tucking it into your dufflebag. Your ride is coming  at  0600 tomorrow and you need to be ready to brief your successor on the assets you’ve cultivated in the region. “She was shot to death in her room above the speakeasy.”

You make a non-committal noise at the back of your throat as he steps inside and closes the door behind him.

“Lucky.” He says, folding his arms over his chest as he leans back against the wall. “Did you burn an entire intelligence network to stop her from getting to me?”

“No.” You tell him, tilting your head up to meet his gaze. “What I did was facilitate a move up the ladder for a more amenable asset. Aisha Hassan is in the US’s debt which means the terms she sets regarding intelligence sharing will be more agreeable.”

“Uh huh.” Tim says, pushing off the wall as he steps towards you. His hands come to rest upon your hips, his thumbs lightly tracing over tiny sliver of skin between your combats and t-shirt. “I’m gonna choose to read between the lines and say thank you. You could have left me here to drown…”

“No Tim, no I couldn’t.” You say, your fingertips toying with the chain of the dogtags looped around his throat. “If you bleed, I bleed, it’s as simple as that.”

VACATION TICKETS — CALEX

summary: olivia plays matchmaker and offers her vacation tickets to alex who’s adamant on saying no.

It was past work hours and Alexandra was still sitting in her office chair, rummaging and working her way through mountains of files. This was her normal. Working late, letting her hunger pass, finishing workload after workload, the grind kept her alive and burning. Alex wasn’t the type to take vacations or rest days – unless of course, she’s absolutely burnt out.

Across the hall, a woman about three years younger than her and perhaps— she won’t ever admit it — her favorite colleague, Casey Novak, resides. Unlike her, the redhead had gone home hours ago. Not that Casey had designated rest hours — she didn’t. The redhead just happened to have enjoyed working home alone.

A soft knock interrupts Alex in her flow. It was Olivia.

“Busy?” Olivia leans against the door. Her eyes were glued on the blonde woman across her, still engrossed in her work. “What do you need?” Alex asks, her eyes still glued onto her work. “Did your mother ever teach you manners?” Alex tilts her head lightly to the side, a small groan escaping her lips as she looks up at the brunette, nudging her glasses towards her, “did they ever tell you how much of a menace you are?” she smirks at Olivia who is now seated on the chair in front of her table.

“What do you need?” she asks once again, this time her tone is a little pressed.

Olivia leans back on her chair, “have you ever used your thirty..? or was it fifty vacation days?” Alex’s lips curled into a small smile, “fifty, and no, I have not. I’d give them to you if we worked in one office,” she sneers, leaning back against her own chair as she takes a sip of her coffee. “Well, I talked with Branch, he’s allowing you to use it for the weekend or…” Olivia drags her sentence smirking, “or the whole week even.”

Alex shakes her head, smiling as she leans forward towards her desk. “Look, Liv, if I wanted to go on a vacation, I would. I have enough money to buy myself–” Olivia cuts her off, “Just hear me out–” The blonde rolls her eyes and in true Alexandra fashion, cuts off Olivia, “No, hear ME out–”

Without hesitation, Olivia took a deep breath and talked as fast as she could not giving Alex a chance to speak, “Blake, this guy i’m dating wanted us to travel for our anniversary as our little getaway but he has a last minute, very important, business meeting he has to attend and I’ve got a galla to attend that could bump up my salary and give me a raise. So, long story short, neither of us can go. It’s a cabin in the Swiss Alps, Lex and based on the pictures online, it looks very homey and romantic,” she says out of breath.

Alex sighs, she could see Olivia tryingand appreciates her efforts to have Alex out of the office for once but somehow the idea of it just didn’t feel right. After a long silence, out of respect, Alex gives in to the idea, “What would I even do in a romantic cabin, hmm?” she asks, her tone as if challenging Olivia. It was clear she was looking for a way out or some sort.

“I invited Casey to go with you, and before you go on ranting, she already agreed. I mean to be fair, she’d take it on her own and–”

“I’ll take it. When is this? How will we get there? What is the mode of transportation from the airport to the cabin? Is there service? How did you get Casey to agree?”

Olivia smiles. It was no secret to anyone who works with Alex and Casey that they had tension. All they needed was a nudge towards each other to get the whole zing to work, and to no one’s surprise, these fools couldn’t make it work without help. This was a big nudge for both lawyers, and an exciting adventure for Alexandra who is apparently the biggest lovesick puppy for Casey.

After spending the next hour discussing the itinerary to Alex, Olivia was positive about this — and to be fair, both Alex and Casey were, individually of course. Once it was over, and Olivia had left, Alex grabbed her phone and leaned back on her chair. This was her chance and she was making the most of it.

So… Swiss Alps?

she types, sending the message immediately without hesitation – something she had never done to Casey. It was barely a minute when she got a reply,

I take that Olivia had told you already?

Yes. How do you feel about it?

‘Fuck’ she mutters. ‘Could have worded that better, Alexandra’ she says to herself, groaning lightly, the buzz of her phone interrupting her thoughts. The text message read,

I’m excited actually. I’ve never been to the Alps or went with a pretty girl anywhere ;)

Alex’s eye twitch, the excitement making her drop her phone, get off of her chair and walk towards a corner into her office, lightly hitting her head against the wall out of excitement. She groans, talking into the wall “FUCKING HELL!”

The DA’s office was pretty much empty by this hour but for Alex, it felt like the entire city heard her. Another buzz comes up and Alex immediately rushes to her phone. It was from Casey, again.

Alex stood there, watching the message. She groans, covering her face with her hands. She hated feeling this way. She was giving in too soon. Feeling emotions, big ones.

Alex stares at the message, sighing as she sits back down on her chair. This time, she smiles as she picks up her phone. For once, Alexandra Cabot was giving in.

📣🏆🏒🏅 SPORTS!: Blair as co-captain of the cheerleading team, and as the center in Berry High's ice hockey team!

Blair plays many sports throughout High School Story Prime (for plot reasons), but two of them have their heart: cheerleading and ice hockey. Here's some social media posts made by Blair's friends in 2013 and 2014, respectively!

Before anything: I'm excited to share my My School Story design... I've been meaning to create something for MSS for ages now and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. Since it was 2013/2014, I wanted to make a hybrid between a blog, a forum, and a Facebook-esque timeline. I also wanted it to look like early Facebook/MySpace meets 2010s gradient buttons. I hope to use this design for other posts soon (foreshadowing). More about Blair and sports under the cut.

Blair was not a very athletic person before moving to the United States, but Berry High needed a cheerleading team and they took on the responsibility of starting one. They struggled a bit performance-wise in the beginning, but their leadership was strong enough to keep the team alive until Mia joined the school and became cheer captain. Blair then took on the role of co-captain and slowly became better.

Blair enjoyed cheer a lot, but I do think the hyper femininity they performed contributed to their struggles with gender/self-image. These first few months in the United States were very confusing to Blair, since they were trying to... figure things out. Moving to a new place where no one knows them meant they could be someone new entirely; performing this Ideal Blair was their way of "starting over", and it has mixed results. For a while, it's fine. Something it's still wrong, though, and Blair doesn't know what is.

As for cheer: they would have stayed in the team for longer if they had not suffered an injury during a game. Blair has myopia but absolutely refuses to wear their glasses (and contact lenses are expensive). As soon as they stepped foot in the U.S. they decided to not wear them anymore because glasses made them "look weird". So, during a game, they can't see where they're supposed to land and end up missing a hand and falling on the ground. It's really bad. In retrospect, Blair probably thinks it was a good thing.

After recovering (and going through stuff), Blair decides to try other sports. They play volleyball for a while, but it's not really fun to them. They try handball, but Blair thought the rules were stupid and ended up fighting more than playing (they actually did not understand you cannot block a person with your full body). Swimming? Do not put Blair in a swimsuit. Soccer? Created by the English. Then they try ice hockey... and it's everything Blair ever wanted in a sport.

You can HIT PEOPLE. You can SKATE. You have a STICK. It's on ICE. FIGHTING IS EXPECTED. It's Blair heaven. I think ice hockey does wonders for Blair anger issues, and just... Blair in general. Like I said, Blair really enjoyed cheerleading, but I think they're much more comfortable playing hockey and being more like themself.

You may remember I originally had them playing lacrosse, and my plan was to have them in the lacrosse team + hockey team; but both sports seasons overlap and I felt it was too much for one person. I stuck with hockey once I found out about the sports' relation to Scotland (it's one of the most popular sports there), and I think that's something Blair would appreciate. I always like making them relate things back to home.

In the ccverse, would there be any differences to the new lair other than all the plants?

honestly my original answer might have been no, but the more i think about it like,,, donnie is responsible for building most of it, although they helped a lot and gave suggestions. im sure it's kind of automatically made to maximize his comfort, either due to subconscious choices of his or because they gently suggested it out of care for him.

ngl there might not even be any train car rooms? they might still have and use train cars, but more for other things like storage space or etc. splinter's room is right next to d's so he can come running but i think the others would want to make their spaces accessible. it was probably a lot more work but overall it was done for a reason lol.

there's also things like,, they try not to have any small, cramped rooms. there's high ceilings and low light pretty much everywhere. there's definitely no longer a pantry, they have a different method of storing food somehow. probably all in cabinets. i also think they'd go out of their way to have a lot of more comfortable lounge spaces, because in the old lair they were mostly comfortable just kinda sitting on the floor or in beanbags. i could see them getting one of those big sectional couches for the tv room. it's one of those things that wasnt thought about with a lot of purpose, they just kind of crave making their space more comfortable and homely for obvious reasons. splinter still has his armchair tho

and of course the laundry room is kind of built to be more comfortable, and it's donnie's space. that's probably the chore they let him do completely on his own (it kind of originally was, but that was mostly because donnie wore clothes the most, so he ended up just kind of making it his job because he had to do it a lot), and they try to respect the sanctity of that.

and of course of course as mentioned, there's. the plants. they may have gone a little overboard when they realized how happy it made him. they have toned it back but they're still all over, and they pitch in with maintaining them because he's expressed he's okay with that. honestly at this point they might even be farming completely on their own lmfao saves them money i suppose

it's also mentioned offhandedly in cw that he used to have a lot of little hidey holes in his lab and such (that only mikey and shelldon knew about), and i'm not sure if that's the case anymore. ironically donnie used to really enjoy having tight, small spaces he could curl up in to get away from the world. that might just be triggering now but maybe something like that will appear in a new form lmao

So I've been working on a Fae AU and I just need you understand the brainworms I am DEALING WITH, my beloved spouse!!! Wei Wuxian (the beloved Summer/Spring Court Fae), who has been stowed away in the Autumn Court all his life, has never met any Fae outside of the Autumn Court, and Lan Wangji (Winter Court Fae) has met all of the other Courts apart from the Summer Court (which is basically extinct apart from Wei Wuxian) and the Spring Court (because they have isolated themself from the rest of the world) so he's like "obviously this is just a human who is using charms to gain Fae features like the humans from the Winter Court". Cue wild shenanigans where they keep bumping each other and completely believing that the other is a human so being all like "this fucking human should NOT be here, also how is this human SO PRETTY?!?! HUMANS SHOULDN'T BE PRETTIER THAN FAE!!!" while the Jiang siblings completely believe that this 'Hanguang-Jun' Winter Court human pet is trying to seduce Wei Wuxian into joining the Winter Court despite not knowing what Court he's from, and Lan Xichen (and Nie Huaisang, a Night Court Fae) completely thinks that Lan Wangji is going insane whenever he talks about this 'Yiling Laozu' human. Jo and Ichi's dynamic is also a major topic of interest for me (as we've seen). I think a lot of what's going on with them is definitely some variation of "old habits die hard." That's natural when you form that kind of uneasy coexistence. But like you mentioned, it's also telling that Jo picked up the nickname in the first place, because I went back through the entire script, and it really is the case that only Arakawa, Masato, Jo, and the people who raised Ichi call him that. It's reserved for his family.

I think this line about Aoki (that I completely forgot about before looking at the script again lol) may also shed some light: "A long time ago, I knew him as the young master. He knew me as Ichi." Because they all do that, don't they? Ichi still says Captain, Boss, and Young Master, Jo still says Boss, Ichi, and Young Master, Aoki still says Dad and Ichi.

Even though on paper these relationships should've dissolved with Ichi being expelled, Masato becoming Aoki, and Jo taking over as second patriarch, to one another, they're all still who they used to be. And as an aspect of how they communicate, the "learned language" that forms in families, it stands out when they're all on the same page with the terms they choose to use.

This line from Ichi also stood out to me: "But my aniki taught me different. He said whoever makes the first move is the victor. The guy with steel balls wins." Like, that's clearly Jo, right? For one thing, the "flavor" of aniki is different from Captain, of course--one is directly an appointed post, and one is more open to interpretation--but it also clearly shows that Jo's imparted his "philosophy" to Ichi in some ways.

I think, to a degree, it's one of those holdovers from RGGO that wasn't fully implemented. Because they're more or less the same in RGGO in this regard, but RGGJo does outright say it makes him weirdly happy that Ichi still calls him Captain, so that's a clearer indicator and makes the idea feel more "complete."

With what I said before about their "learned language," too, the Arakawa Family has this way of saying goodbye that's specific to them, and I really miss it in Y7. It is referenced briefly, but it's not a "thing" like it was in RGGO. It's kinda like how The Gang in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia greet each other with "Hey-ohhh!" LMAO idk but. I Enjoy. But that's also why it stood out to me that LaD8Jo greets Ichi the same way as Y7Jo and RGGJo.

ALSO that is so sick the author of Soliloquy saw your art…… incredible……….. + as an aside since I was reminded, it's very true that sometimes people seem to "fill in the blanks" with tropes, and my favorite is honestly when it's both funny and offensive. There was this whole "phase" (and to everyone's credit it was short-lived) of playing Mine up like this Huge Misogynist because he's not attracted to women, and it's WILD to recognize that he's gay but still pull up homophobic tropes for funsies.

Like I was mad at the time mostly on account of the mischaracterization (because come on, even if you've only seen Y3, he is still uncharacteristically soft with Katase… not that he wasn't INSANE for The Slap, but it also wasn't at all rooted in the same things as say, Nishiki slapping Reina might've been.) But it was funny. Perhaps not in the way it was intended to be, but it was funny. And, you know, that's why I'm happy to stay in my own little corner as well.

On the subject of language though, it's def something I picked up on (if my last ask wasn't any indication lmao)! It's a real neat detail and something I think helps push that 'family' theme Y7 has going on (or at the very least demonstrates how despite the times changing, they still have those bonds with each other whether they acknowledge it or not), it definitely being a case of picking up a habit/term from family.

About tropes in fan works though, I can't act like I'm guiltless of it LMAO so I don't have too strong of a leg to stand on when it comes to criticizing it (and I can't lie, sometimes I do find playing into the trope funny if it's at least based on something from the text and it's just exaggerated For The Bit yeah). However I do think the strangest thing was linking misogyny and Mine (I made a post rambling about it but deleted it like. .3 seconds later) because nothing he does in either Y3 nor RGGO is explicitly misogynistic? In the slightest? And as we talked about before he's considerably pretty respectful towards women? Again, he surely did slap a little girl, but it wasn't because she was a girl you know (still cringe to do but if we're gonna talk about it let's do it right please and thank you). As you say though, pushing that trope onto Mine just feels like perpetuating the harmful stereotype that gay men hate women, and in cases like that then I can't really take the piss out of it without having a weird taste in my mouth.

The alt-right's foothold into Gen-Z is frustrating and I can see from over here how they're doing it.

You've got a generation of young-adults who are learning to be adults for the first time and for so many of them it sucks. It sucks to be in your first shitty apartment where things break, and to have your first shitty car that needs maintenance, and to be working a low-paying service or retail job where you get berated all day and barely scrape by. And you go home and you have taxes to figure out and electric bills to figure out and a screen on your phone to rot into to destress.

And this is men and women, equally, in this spot. But the alt-right messaging gets to tailor their approach to gender.

And hey women, yes you working a shitty job for shitty pay, overwhelmed by financial responsibilities and car repairs, what if you actually didn't need to do ANY of that? You don't need to. And you don't need to feel guilty about it. (You're not quitting, you're not being lazy), you actually are just embracing the chance to be exactly who an ideal woman should be. You should actually be beautiful, and demure, and barefoot in a sunny kitchen, glowing, pregnant, hearing the joyful sounds of your children while you bake a roast for your wonderful husband (strong, protective, loves you, handles the finances, handles the jobs, handles all the things you hate). OUR ancestors (don't mind the dogwhistle) did this for GENERATIONS, and modern society has failed you instead!

It's offering to break women out of all the parts of their real life that suck, and do it in a way that promises they're actually being better, being more admirable, more moral, more respectable, more correct, can feel good about, can feel proud about, as a Woman as Feminine as Mother as Goddess.

And the thing being promised does not need to actually reflect reality. It's a fantasy. It is not real. For every "beautiful demure barefoot" day, you'd be having another one covered in shit changing diapers of screaming infants with screaming children while your husband ignores you because it's Women's Work (take pride!) But that doesn't matter. It just needs to sound better than the reality they're living.

Then the men are targeted too. And it's the same in that it's getting to them by appealing to pride in their gender, but the messaging is different. It's "those finances are hard but ACTUALLY you're leveling up, you're grinding, you're finance maxing." It's hard but it's the kind of hard that is a challenge you can WIN at, boast about, post about, prove your manliness. Knowing cars, knowing home repairs, knowing taxes, that's your MAN pride, and you are so elite, you are so sigma, you are the envy of everyone, you are a masculine man. Women love you. Women will defer to you. Strong, respected, moral, loyal, unshakeable. Unlike those pansy men (mind the homophobic dogwhistling) who will whimper and cry like girls. You are better.

The shitty retail job is actually humble beginnings because you're minmaxing your way to financial success (bitcoin, crypto, investments). You can sleep with any woman you want as long as you're confident, and then you'll find one who understands how smart and confident and strong and protective you are and she will defer to you as her man. She will birth your children and teach them good morals and you will make it. Our ancestors lived this way for generations (dogwhistle) and modern society took it from you.

And with that messaging it makes it clear who the enemy in all this is - modern society that has convinced women to torture themselves with high education and terrible jobs, turned them Ugly with Ugly opinions and bad hair and nasty attitudes, yelping about "rights" and "equality" (pitting them against men! TAKING things from men!) All the while, society has been trying to emasculate men--replace them with women, make them soft and emotional, make them gay, make them WEAK. We've been made WEAK.

The naive women hearing this go "I'm not ugly! I don't hate men! I DO hate my job and my finances. I've been tricked. I'm actually rebelling by declaring my goal is to get a Perfect (White) (Christian) moral husband who will make all our decisions and protect me and our children." (And when she's financially trapped in an abusive marriage...? When she's suicidal with PPD but her husband won't touch that because it's Woman Hysteria...? And when her husband leaves her for someone who was as hot as she was 20 years ago and now she's figuring out finances, health care, taxes, bank accounts for the first time in her life...?)

And the men go "They've been TAKING things from us for too long! It's time to be men again! It's time to take pride! I am strong and confident. I am in charge! I never show weakness!" (And when he's got a gun to his head due to the depression he's never been allowed to talk about as Women Feelings...? And when he's financially ruined from a crypto scheme that stroked his ego and robbed him blind...? And when he's dead from alcohol poisoning and none of his adult children notice because no one's spoken to 'Dad' in 15 years...?)

And it's so hard to fight because you're arguing against a fantasy. How do you disprove their fantasy? It's so hard to explain to them, hey you're working a shitty job where you have no future because the rich bastards took it all from you. And now you're doing their work for them. You hate society because of what they've done to it and now you're doing their work. Now you're targeting groups who've never done anything to harm you and the guys responsible are laughing to the bank. How do you explain? How do you disprove fantasy?
