Tumblr posts will often tag reblog bait with the tag "#reblog bait" or similar tags like "#tw reblog bait", "cw reblog bait", "reblog bait tw", and more.

Reblog bait content is unfortunately most common on awareness posts, which often have important information to share but unfortunately end up inaccessible to those distressed by reblog bait due to the moral pressures put onto these users to avoid being a bad person.

With this, and especially as someone who's all too familiar with what it's like to feel pressured by share-bait (which I've had to manage since my first exposure to share-bait when I was 12 years old), I would say these messages to those who are also affected by share-bait:

Thoughts on posts that are like "Reblog if you support [____]"?

I fucking hate those posts with a passion

Rant under the cut:

The reason why I hate those posts is because it makes people think "If I don't reblog this, then I am a horrible person", which no one should have to feel that way.

"Reblog if you support aspec people. It sickens me that people won't reblog this" (Note: This is an example)

First of all, that's the biggest fucking guilt trip I have ever seen. Second of all, Someone could be aspec and end up thinking that they aren't valid and that they're a horrible person if they don't reblog that post.

If I ever see those kinds of posts, I will either a) Ignore it because no one should feel obligated to reblog it, or b) tag it as reblog bait so that if anyone has "reblog bait" filtered, then they can scroll past it.

If you make those kinds of posts and don't tag it as reblog bait, then you're on thin ice with me.
