So I've been seeing again the Sequel trilogy because I'm a masochist, but what I increasingly realise when I watch these films is that Rian Johnson is the Madonna to J. J. Abrams' Lady Gaga. Rian Johnson really created something different with The Last Jedi, and J. J. Abrams, just copied A New Hope in Force Awakens and when he came back for The Rise of Skywalker, he threw away the work of a filmmaker who unlike him didn’t half copy other people by turning their stories into something reductive. Because while he screwed up the last film and ruined the narrative, he took story bits he liked from Johnson's and Luca's work, and gave us a reductive piece of work. And that along with all the films ( different franchises ) in which Abrahms promised a lot but delivered nothing I can now safely say I have beaf with J. J. Abrams and Disney for killing Star Wars for me. Thank god of AO3 and fanfic writers.

Not to mention the book bans happening. AND ALSO PEOPLE GET HARASSED FOR HOBBIES (Example: Furries) AND SPIRITUAL BELIEFS (Example: Therians)!

Last time I checked, we had rights to identity and freedom, so why is that being taken away from us?

Which brings me to this point:

I have so many wips idk how to tell so i will just summarise it.

I'm currently writing, The General's Bride, its mlm (i sincerely hope you don't mind it) The General’s Bride follows a formidable general who returns home victorious from war, afyer six years, he plans to marry the princess to get power from the cruel king. He comes to knkw that the princess is a man in disguise on his own agenda. Initially viewing his bride as a mere pawn, he gradually discovers his intelligence and resilience, leading to an unexpected partnership. As enemies close in and secrets unravel, the couple must navigate love, duty, and the shifting tides of power to secure their future.

The latest idea that i have is

1) Ghosted Together, Vihaan Singh, who can see ghosts after inheriting his late father’s spiritual duty, is forced to work with his academic rival, Lǐ Zé Yǔ, after accidentally granting him the same ability. Despite their constant bickering and mutual hatred, they become reluctant partners in guiding lost souls to rest, uncovering eerie mysteries along the way. What starts as an infuriating rivalry slowly shifts into an unexpected bond, blurring the line between enemies and something much deeper.

I am so glad the new kdramas are bringing back the specific brand of loser men. You know which brand I'm talking about. The Ahn "min min" Minhyuk brand of loser men and I'm loving it. The "I worship this goddess and I'm so in love with her and I can't believe I get to love her. Oh my gods I love her so much" brand of loser men. And we're being fed so well with lovely runner, love next door, no gain no love, my demon, Cinderella at 2am, Hierarchy, Midnight Romance in Hagwon, Queen of tears, welcome to samdal-ri and even good partner (yes it's one sided but the dedication and yuri's couple too).

1.Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z was one of those characters I just wanted to be as a child, I just think he's real neat.

2. Pinkie Pie from MLP FIM is a character I love who I feel like I wouldn't usually, loud, annoying, sometimes a total ass, but yet she still pulled me in. She's got a lot of good in her too.

3.Pink Onyx from the @pink-onyx-au I really love this AU and the development of Jasper and by extension Pink Onyx, has been really enjoyable so far, really impressed by it and excited to see more.

4. Puar from Dragon Ball z is one of those characters I just like cuz he's so gosh darn cute.

5.Raine Whispers from The Owl House I loved getting to know them slowly over the course of the series, but I miss them so bad now.

6.Doug Rattmann from Portal, if anyone has followed my main account for 13 years (I don't think so tbf) you'll know I was obsessed with this dude big time, loved a mentally ill person being so capable yet still obviously effected by it, his song, that scary audio of him ranting and whispering when you get close to his murals, the mystery spanning both games, he deserves more love.

7.Paul Tejada from New Vegas was one of the best companions in that game in my experience, I really enjoyed getting to know him as we traveled the waste, and seeing his different reactions to different events. 100/10 knocked it outta the park

8. Rex also of New Vegas is one of those animal companions I immediately attach to, I love his quest with its multiple endings, and I'm glad I was nice enough to the kings to get to travel with him.

9.Rian from The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Our tragic prince of pain for that series, he loses EVERYTHING man, it is so damn sad to see, as is the plight of all under the Skeksis, but he really grabbed my heart. his voice acting and puppetry is great and really endears you to the characters. Whenever I see him I hear SkekSil in my head saying "Gobbled up by Gobbles", it wont stop.

I do! Not as often, only because I don't get as many asks about Hook as I did in the mid 2010s. But my hatred for the character is alive and fresh, my bitterness that had Colin O'Donoghue not been so fucking gorgeous, Captain Swan never would've been a thing, and the way they shafted Neal so epically (SIMILARLY TO HOW RIAN FUCKING JOHNSON SHAFTED FINN FOR KYLO REN I SAID WHAT I SAID) will always stick in my craw.

But Neal now belongs to me, so much so, that I changed his name and gave him his very own full-length novel--which, after "Hell's Heresies" (ALSO A SWANFIRE OG FANFIC!) will be published for the delight of Swanfire/Neal Cassidy fans everywhere.

So keep your eye out for Nolan Jack in the next few years...

Rian(yes named for the Dark Crystal character I like the name and didn’t think abt it being so close to Rain’s name but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) they’re a sibling of sin who’s deaf and falls in love with Aether. I’ve written a few ficlets abt them! A couple I’ve posted and a couple sitting in my drafts.

Then my ghoul OC Atmos(hence the name of this blog lol) he’s an Air ghoul turned Quintessence. I used to TikTok’s in his cosplay but I haven’t done anything in months bc I got tired of TikTok.

Now my other OCs are from my original universe

You’ve got a Prince named Chorus and a wayward traveller named Bard. They fall in love (gay) but the kicker is Chorus is trapped inside a soul stone. He has no corporeal form just a spectral one. So through all of time they spend pining and yearning and falling in love, they can never touch.

In that same world you have a wizard called Alistair who is centuries old. He’s a tired immortal who’s bitchy and cunty and I love him.

He has a companion called Stafford. They were best friends (read:gay) in the university where they studied magic centuries ago and Alistair trapped Stafford inside a soul stone much like the Prince is. The difference being where the Prince’s stone is embedded inside a melodica (his chosen instrument in life) Stafford’s gem is housed inside the top of Alistair’s staff. (Because Alistair thought it would be hilarious to put Stafford,,,inside his,,,staff *crowd starts booing*)

A PIECE OF HIM WONDERS IF THIS night is going to go anywhere, they're wandering back from the bar, his feet a little sore from all of the dancing. It'd been a while since he'd allowed himself to stretch his legs, TIED DOWN to his work. But Taron had changed something in him, and he couldn't help the strong desire to let LOOSE.

They'd been holding hands since the last dance, strolling along the river back towards his humble abode. He was staying that evening, the ranch was QUIET and peaceful, and he had drinks prepared and music on the record player.

What he doesn't expect is Taron to stop him halfway to the front door, twisting around to look at him with eyes that are wide under the mask. He'd been halfway through remembering his wilder days, ranting of the time he'd gotten on the most DANGEROUS bronc he'd ever ridden and survived.

But Taron is beautiful, the sort that makes his chest hurt and his palms sweat, and he's struck by the sudden grip at his collar and everything is sort of a BLUR. He kisses him before he has a second to REALIZE, and it's all-consuming, and shattering and Rian is not sure how he'll ever recover.

He laughs, it splits the air and for a second they're so close he's SHAKEN — and then his lips curl.

After seeing the post on Insta and reading the comments I have a question. Is this how things are going to be from now on? Are they just going to shove her into everything? There are a lot of people in the band and crew who have had birthdays and they haven’t gotten special posts. I don’t go to their instagram or wherever to see stuff on Alex’s wife. I personally don’t care for her. Have you ever just disliked someone upon first seeing them? Well that’s how I feel about her. When someone acts like they are so nice and sweet and perfect it makes me suspicious. That’s the vibe I get from her. Maybe I’m just cynical but I don’t trust people like that. And usually I’m right to feel that way. So seeing this post and seeing everyone comment on how wonderful she is and how her singing is the best ever and constantly being called a queen just makes me want to vomit. I’m just so over it. So she sang. Good for her. Now she’ll be forever in one of their songs and everyone will know she’s married to Alex. 🙄 Lindsey Sterling was also on that song but no one talks about her. What’s next? Is Savannah going to come out showing her drumming skills? And she’s always dancing around in Rian’s posts so will she become a back-up dancer for them? Is it not bad enough that we’re not going to get any new music or touring until at least the summer?

Ok rant over. Everyone can roast me now for not worshipping the ground she walks on.

Found the tv tropes rant I mentioned earlier:

“at some point i gotta talk more in depth about how tv tropes and the whole mentality behind it has been really corrosive to media criticism and writing. it leads people to believe that movies and novels are assembled out of tropes in the way something would be assembled from lego bricks. you can have the trope, or subvert the trope, or lampshade the trope, but it's all tropes, and other elements of story and structure get lost or subordinated by trope brain. it's not that tropes aren't kinda real to some extent, but it's also just a really stupid way of thinking about art and media and a really creatively limited one.

Rian johnson's problem is that he has tv tropes brain. this guy, whose movie is lampshading and subverting things, but that still means you're defining your story by the tropes rather than just not doing them at all, rather than just doing something the fuck else. most people don't watch a movie and think of tropes because they're not a culture writer, and when you make a movie for a culture writer, you're limiting your audience.

i think this feeds into how insane the fandom stuff gets, because people will look at a bit of fanfiction, and what they'll see is an assembly of tropes that are either good or bad. and if it's got bad tropes, it's bad writing, and if it's got good tropes, it's good writing. you see the way they talk about what they want to read or consume or make and it's like they're talking about what they want to order at mcdonalds. "i want this trope, this trope, and this trope…" i want the mcdouble without onions. enemies to loves without a problematic age gap. it's a consumerist way of thinking about this stuff.”

TROS and its aftermath proved that Rian (and Carrie, since she also worked on the TLJ script) were the only ones working on the Sequel films who cared about Rey as a character and wanted her to both have a good character arc and stand on her own apart from being a fan insert for the legacy characters.

They're the only ones who even thought about her as a character. No one else asked any of the questions that should have been the absolute day one, blank page, first meeting questions to have about your alleged protagonist. I know I've ranted about it at length many times, but it still beggars belief. Not only did they not have answers, they didn't even ask the questions.

JJ has a history of not seeming to understand the concept of a character arc or the narrative needing to earn things, so maybe it's ultimately unsurprising this wasn't something DLF considered important, but I remain staggered by this level of basic incompetence.
