I wish my mental health was in a better state. I wish I could see my friends. I want my mom. I am a mess if you can’t tell. Like everyone else I am trying to survive. Thankfully I have a great support system of friends and a new group of Animal Crossing lovers to hang out with. I am very thankful for all of that. Yesterday was a great day of folks showing their #loveforpoetry and a #bookstore. #25years of support for @woodlandpattern and I've #readpoems for two of those now. #betterlatethannever 😁 Getting dressed I thought, maybe #poetryreadings are my chance to try the Terimarie #uniform I truly sometimes hate deciding #whattowear maybe my next #poetryreading I'll just wear the same stuff 😎 #neway besides #readingpoems it was wonderful to be there to witness the #passingofthetorch to Margaret Rozga as the new #wisconsinpoetlaureate #congratsagain Peggy! 🏆🎉🎊 #lastly so #awesome to end the day #reunited with a couple of my #onedraft #poems thanks to @vegetarianalcoholicpress Secret Words was one of my #favorite #writerevents #lastyear honestly the name of the press #drewmein 😊 #lookingforward to the next event! #ps #thisweather is the worst! Before I read my first poem (about #jadis #whitewitch from #narnia creating everlasting winter in Wisconsin 😁) I told the audience not much else would get me to leave the house, but #poetry did, the #writercommunity did. As the saying goes, what you give your time, you #treasure. I had tears in my eyes at times, witnessed another moment that didn't move me but the writer seated next to me quietly wiped tears away - and really that's the essence of it all. A place where diverse writings, artists, the community are all invited, welcomed, celebrated. Escuridão Por Ana Marques Na escuridão todos os olhos são tristes ... e todo sorriso é verdadeiro. Não há mentira que não sobreviva a uma noite escura, a uma boca suja, de dores e retratos de um passado rasgado e um futuro ainda pra chegar. Na escuridão os sonhos passeiam e suas vozes vagueiam em nossas neblinas. Vozes são ouvidas distantes e gargalhadas dilacerantes riem de mim. Da história que contei e que não tem fim. Na noite que recai sobre o meu rosto todo movimento é tosco. Todo suor é labor e vou aqui resistindo... Esperando que esses sons não sejam as vozes internas da loucura companheira e da vida partida. Do que se esconde e nunca respira fora do casulo onde o coloquei. Na escuridão todos os olhos são: Mentirosos Insanos Devaneios perdidos Brilhos assombrados Sonhos amaldiçoados e sombrios.
