"FUGITIVE CONVICT SEEN IN READING," Philadelphia Inquirer. October 30, 1943. Page 1 & 5. ---- Search for Victor (Babe) Andreoli, life-termer who escaped from the Eastern Penitentiary last Wednesday, was intensified yesterday after word was received that he had been recognized in a Reading hotel.
According to State Police there, three employes of the Reed Hotel identified Andreoli from a photograph as a man who registered Thursday night under the name "John Pyle," of Raleigh, N. C., and asked to be shown the location of the fire escape. He left at 7 A. Μ. yesterday.
State Police said a man answering the description of Andreoli later was seen trudging along Route 22 in the direction of Lancaster.
KILLED STATE TROOPER Andreoli was serving a life term for the murder of State Trooper John Broske, on Aug. 4, 1937, during the holdup of a roadhouse near Plains, Luzerene county.
Meanwhile, two convicts who were caught trying to escape from the Graterford branch of the institution during a heavy rainstorm Thursday were back in the 21st st. and Fairmount ave. prison.
The men, Harry Hovey, 28, formerly of Collingswood, N. J., and Michael Cipy, 36, formerly of this city, were brought back to the prison after they were arraigned at a hearing before Magistrate Isaac L. Kehoe in Norristown.
Both men, who had been sentenced to prison for robbery charges, will receive. additional time to serve of not more than two years. Cipy was placed in the 5th gallery block of cells while Hovey was placed in the No. 1 cellblock. Both men are in isolation cells.

I'm attempting to purchase a specific book for some... light reading and having a difficult time finding it at a good price for reasons I'm certain have nothing to do with current news in America.
Also eat shit Amazon I'm not buying it on kindle.
