I don't know about you guys but soft Virana doesn't get enough representation... she's proud of Namaari for choosing Fang first... even if the outcome of that meeting wasn't what anyone would've expected... and as cold and unbending the chief is, she still comes from a place of love... because Namaari is the only family for her left...

Rewatched Raya and have forgotten how much I love her!!

I have also forgotten how much tension they had?? Why were they constantly flirting with each other like that 😭 Honestly had me gasping from the start, how did Disney fumble this so bad-

I rewatched Raya and the last dragon. Then i listened to love songs and... poof ! I drew this 😂

I don't have any explainations, I just drew it. I know Namaari is the taller one but hey it's funnier to draw her as the clingy one !

I'll make a christmas version on that one, because all I want for christmas is you 💕😂

Warriors

I know it's not my most beautiful drawing, unfortunately it had two or three bad lucks which I tried to make up for as best I could. but I found it interesting which is why I decided to finish it and post it.

Namaari and Nur both wear Fang's military clothing showing their respective ranks. (what could be more normal for Fang to spend quality time with family)

Nur is officially part of Heart's army but her status as a princess gives her the privilege of subtly displaying her belonging to Heart. (this was approved in advance by Namaari, head of Fang, who was more than supportive)

Inspirations and explications :

I really tried for Nur to ensure that she is an outfit that is a mixture of Heart and Fang (well I try every time I represent her or even Long, her sibling ) for Namaari just a detail that shows its belonging to heart (the belt buckle, I noticed that only Benja wears it or stripes in the Lorcana cards, and in the concept art the soldiers of Heart (absent in the film) wear the logo on their belt but not the flower like Benja. (I noted that in the film Fang's soldiers have a symbol on their belt buckle, unfortunately I was not able to see it clearly but I deduce that it is one of the shapes that the we see to represent Fang) (since Nur would also be an official member of Fang's army she would also wear this buckle) but when she is not in military uniform she wears the symbol of Fang like her mother. if she has an outfit close to Fang's army but in the colors of Heart it is a derogation and a privilege that she has because she is a princess and which was validated by her mother (head of Fang, and therefore of the army) (Namaari was absolutely not opposed to this, on the contrary). I really studied the patterns on the top of atitaya (which are not the same as the bottom) and those on her headband (which seems to be a sign found among the soldiers of the Kumandra stands) I note that these motifs for Fang's headband are figurative, with alternating bands of abstract geometric motifs.

I told myself that the shoulder pad could be a distinctive sign of a particular regiment like an elite commando

The Ultimate Duo!

I do not have a consistent art style, alright guys? But man do like it when I make something cute... 😏 I mean look at these two dorks!

They thought this meme would look cool with Sisu and Raya so credit where credit is due😊... obviously, I was immediately on board.

Have I done anything else today? No.

Do I regret it? Also no.

"You and the dragon are coming with us, Jedi." "Hmmm... my lightsabers say we're not."

Next in my series of Jedi Princesses: Raya! Raya is a capable warrior, so I envisioned her as a hardened Order 66 survivor, roaming the planet of Kumandra, searching for a fabled Force-being that will unite the land. In her efforts to protect herself from Inquisitors - which include her childhood friend from the Jedi temple, Namaari - I could see her scavenging old Clone Trooper armor and incorporating pieces into her outfit. I looked to prominent Order 66 survivors, Cal Kestis and Ahsoka Tano, for costume inspiration. Ahsoka’s live-action outfit is already very Asian-inspired, so it was easy to draw visual similarities between her costume and Raya’s. And Raya’s cloak translated well into a poncho, of which I hope Cal would approve! Also, her hat came from one that you can see Cast Members at Galaxy's Edge wear!

And I just realized that I’ve drawn the two Jedi Princesses whose actors were in Star Wars: Mulan for Ming-Na Wen, and now Raya for Kelly Marie Tran!

Fun fact: I thought about giving her blue lightsabers, which are typical of Jedi Warriors. But I settled on green because a) it fits her color palette and b) green is associated with Jedi Consulars, who are known to fight mainly to protect... and Raya's people are the guardians of the Dragon Gem.
