Day #1: Pilate-d
Tried pilates with a YouTube video playing on my TV and me with an ancient yoga mat I swear we haven't used since I was eight. I kind of clicked on the first one I found, so I didn't notice that it said "hourglass". I didn't much care, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3UjeyPOjoU
I couldn't do the second-to-last exercise because the mat was too old, slippery, and on-the-verge-of-falling-apart, but otherwise it was pretty cool. 6/10, but I don't know if I would do this every day.

#I see so many transfems say they want to have “flat stomachs” or do diet and exercise regimes to try and get an “hourglass figure”#and it really worries me. girls you do not have to destroy yourselves to fit into unachievable beauty standards#the vast majority of cis women don't even fit those standards#and the same goes for you transmascs! I see you! I see you trying to get smaller chests and hurting yourselves with weight loss routines#and excessive workouts. it's not worth it. weight loss has OVER a 90% long-term failure rate and there's a reason for that#I assure you whatever diet you think you've found that “works for you” won't be working so well 5 years from now#and you're going to blame yourself for “slacking off”. but it's not you. it was never you. it was designed to fail.#these standards are made to hurt people and then sell them a false solution at the price of your health#I encourage you to transition if you'd like and live your best life I really do. but please please please do so SAFELY.#if weight loss is part of your transition goals please reevaluate WHY you believe thinness is necessary for achieving femininity#(or masculinity or androgyny but this stuff particularly affects women in the way it's marketed)#do research on fatphobia and the roots of weight loss culture. So my Apple Watch called me out and I’m amused and embarrassed all at once. My CNA gave me a new jar of organic peanut butter to mix to give my guide dog a portion as treat. I began stirring and my watch asks if I’m beginning an elliptical workout. I selected yes for the joke and it said my heart rate was 128BPM. Just because I was stirring peanut butter. I used to be in deadlifting competitions. Now I’m reduced to getting tired after such a mundane task.

1/13/24 Treadmill
Working on experimenting with different low impact ways to increase VO2 by increasing HR up into zone 5. Today was on treadmill, working up to a 5 incline and speed of 3.2 mph over about 10 minutes, then walking that for about 5 minutes. Treadmill is sooo boring, 15 minutes is about all I can handle. I'm a little more comfortable on the Treadmill today than last week. I did get HR up, but probably need it a bit higher and for longer.

Came home and couldn’t find Grady anywhere. Started having DEFCON 1 level anxiety. He managed to shut himself in my mom’s bathroom.
(The bottom storage closet in her bathroom is accessible to the cats via the heating ducts in the basement. He got up there that way and has previously gone down that way bc we’ve seen him do it but apparently he can only do one direction at a time bc he was just sitting in the bathroom waiting for us to open the door .)
