Layers - Art film by Maxim Zhestkov from Zhestkov on Vimeo.
Layers is a 4K digital art film directed by Maxim Zhestkov exploring the juxtaposition of the outside and inside. Computer-generated dark and brutal geometric monoliths are dissected by invisible 3D objects to reveal the layers of the colourful and emotionally vibrant inner structures. At the intersections of the shapes we encounter complex structures which could be perceived as 3D representations of objects within a 4D universe.
After the previous art films’ foray into the territory of imaginary gallery spaces (Elements and Volumes), Maxim decided to push further and explore the possibilities of impossible sculptures as the main character for this project.
Layers is the fourth film in the series which Maxim launched in 2017. Maxim has committed to producing one film each season for the rest of his life along with commercial projects in his studio - Zhestkov.Studio - to express his thoughts, ideas and vision and to explore new boundaries of digital art.

On the road: Finland from iGNANT on Vimeo.
When we first set foot on Finland a few years back, we fell in love with the magical landscape, the serenity and the wide and untouched nature. When living in Berlin, the daily noise, rush and huddle in the dirty streets can get rather annoying after a while and all you want to do is find an off switch, to stop and take a deep, cleansing breath.
Though only two flying hours away you'll find just the paradise, you were wishing for, a calm and relaxing retreat that will reconnect you with nature in all its beautiful ways. We re-visited Finland during Midsummer, a magical time where nature is bursting in all its glory. We explored the area around Tampere, which is the third most-populous city in Finland though with 220,000 inhabitants it still offers the charm of a small town. As most towns in the south of Finland it's surrounded by water offering various possibilities to take a swim in the crystal clear water while diving into complete silence.
Though without further ado, we'd like to share our impressions in a short video clip, taken by Björn Baasner. Enjoy.
