FÉ & RAPADURA

Dia desses recebi uma mensagem da avó de um aluninho do 6º ano da Rede Pública, justificando sua ausência na escola por alguns dias.

Ela disse que fazia uma viagem a Juazeiro todo ano para agradecer uma bênção recebida e que neste ano não tinha com quem deixar o garoto e teria que levá-lo.

Eu disse a ela que não se preocupasse, que as faltas do pequeno seriam justificadas e que Deus estava sempre em 1º lugar.

Quando ele voltou, veio com um pacotinho:

-Tia Lídia, a voinha mandou isso aqui pra senhora.

Antes de me entregar o embrulho, porém, ele perguntou reticente:

-A senhora é católica, né?

-Não, sou evangélica, meu anjo, mas por quê?

-Eita, professora, me desculpe, mas acho que a senhora não vai gostar...

-Oxe, menino... Por quê?

Ele colocou timidamente a encomenda nas minhas mãos e ficou observando minha reação. Ao abri-la, vi o que sua avó tinha me enviando: uns pedaços generosos de rapadura e um lindo terço, o 1º que ganhei em toda a minha vida! Fiquei emocionada, claro.

-Diga a sua avó que não precisava, mas que amei os presentes! Vou dividir essa rapadura com minhas vizinhas, porque não posso comer tanta coisa doce assim, mas o terço vou guardar dentro da minha bíblia e me lembrarei para sempre do carinho e da fé que nos uniram. Qualquer simbolismo que se remeta ao nosso Salvador Jesus Cristo merece respeito e é muito bem-vindo.

-Tá certo, tia Lídia, vou dizer a ela!

E foi assim que Deus usou uma avó e um neto para adoçar a minha vida e fortalecer a minha fé.

Hello!! I saw your post from Brazilian!Reader and I had an idea, which would be that the MC had told Diavolo about the Festa Junina in Brazil and Diavolo ended up getting excited and deciding to do something about the Festa Junina at RAD. Then they are at Festa Junina, I go to MC

I'll try to help you with this, so you don't have to research too much :D

The food generally at Festa Junina (at least the ones I went to) are more or less like this:

— Corn cake and sometimes chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles

— small hot dogs

— Paçoca (practically a roll or a smooth square made of peanuts, and it's like a Brazilian rapadura, but the ones I eat are generally not crunchy like peanuts because the peanuts are quite crushed but they're still very good.)

— a small white package with sweet popcorn inside

— Peanuts but they are sweet because of the pink layer that is quite sweet surrounding the peanuts there.

— Maçã do amor (Apple of love in Portuguese. It's practically a caramel apple and it's a little hard to bite into because the layer on top is made of sugar, but it's very good.)

— normal Brazilian savory snacks. (examples: Coxinha, it can be big or small but it has a pointy top tip and is round underneath and is also usually chicken inside. Risoles: It's like a normal Brazilian pastry but with a different dough and fried and sometimes is chicken or shrimp or also cheese or meat. Enrolladinho: it's a savory dish with dough wrapped around a piece of sausage)

RAD celebrates Festa Junina

the traditional music ends up being his favorite part of the festivities

both of you feel like you should've seen that coming, as luci is a music connoisseur

he knows good music when he hears it!

he now has a new appreciation for the accordion. he'll think of you when he hears them play now

he and his younger brother (levi) get very competitive over the games

the way they butt heads at games made for children is very funny and mammon is very seious about winning as if it might equate to winning your love

in the end, they win an equal amount of games and tie

as a fair, and even reward, you give them both a little kiss <3

Levi

is determined to beat mammon at every game!

however, he only manages to tie with him. it's a real bummer

until he gets his kiss from you

all of a sudden, the two brothers decide to make this a yearly competition haha

he enjoys the dancing the most!

if you'll allow him, he would love to be your dance partner <3

teach him everything you know, since learning from you is the greatest treasure

he's so in love with the traditional outfits

after the event is over, the two of your can mourn the absence of delicious foods together

however, if the both of you really want the festivity foods again before it rolls around again next you, the two of you can try to make it! just make sure he doesn't eat all the ingredients first

like his twin, the food is his favorite part

it isn't usually, but just something about how appetizing the food smells and how excited you look makes him want to try everything

he doesn't regret this decision at all

despite not being a festival food, coxinha is his favorite. at least he can enjoy it all year now :)

Took me some time, because a few of them I KNEW they reminded me of a flavor but I just-- Couldn't figure it out as quick as the others?? You have no idea HOW LONG I spent staring at Rocky here. "Man. My boy. My sweet precious child. I KNOW YOU REMIND ME OF SOMETHING, IT'S HERE, BUT WHAT IS IT--"

So far, for the pups I've seen up to now:

Chase -> Milk and Chocolate caramel candy. This one was instant, just like with Zuma, since I first saw him. He just DOES TASTE LIKE THAT, it's not the color, I swear-- or maybe it is???

Marshall -> Coconut. The white thing, not the water.

Skye -> Coffee with Milk. For a moment I thought it was Milk caramel candy, but she tastes more like coffee with milk, or the reverse, milk with coffee. Y'know, the very soft tasty one?

Rocky -> THIS ONE GAVE ME SO MUCH TROUBLE TO FIND OUT I KID YOU NOT-- He tastes like-- Water. Really. I know that sounds ironic. He hates water. But I look at him and THAT'S WHY IT TOOK ME SO LONG, WATER IS A VERY DIFFERENT KIND OF NEARLY NO TASTE?? But still it HAS a taste. Sweet Jesus Rocky why are you like this, couldn't you be anything like, Idk, MINT MAYBE, or tea, but noooooo, he tastes like WATER--

Rubble -> A kind of candy we call "Rapadura" here in Brazil. The condensed milk flavored one, specifically.

Zuma -> THAT ONE ORANGE FLAVORED CHOCOLATE EVERY MIXED CHOCOLATE BOX HAS HERE and very few people actually like it, it's always one of the last ones to be left in the box after everyone picks their favorites... Which makes me happy because, despite not being one of my favorite chocolates, I still like it a lot so this means MORE CHOCOLATE FOR ME~ XDD

Everest -> At first I thought it was Açaí smoothie, but no. She tastes like PLUM flavored yogurt. At this point I'm wondering if these tastes are tricking my brain and tastebuds mostly based on their colors, but then there's Rocky--

Tracker -> Pé-de-Moleque cake. I think it's a Brazilian recipe too, made with cashew nut.

Anyway these are the pups I've seen in the show so far. I'll go and continue watching now that the basketball game is over, my bro was watching it. For some reason my phone's refusing to login my Paramount+ account now so, laptop connected to the not-so-smart-TV it is for now XD

On a sidenote, I DO NOT HAVE SYNESTHESIA AS FAR AS I'M AWARE OF. I know I'm literally talking crossed senses here like seeing colors and feeling tastes, which is common for people with Synesthesia (or other kinds of crossed senses like hearing a sound and seeing a color for it), but as far as I know, I don't have it. I might be wrong, maybe I do have it and just never connected the dots, but still. It's just my taste perception of these adorable little fellas.
