Just because I'm not on the road anymore, doesn't mean I've stopped making nerdy parody music. 😁
I've got a band I regularly host Pub Sings with at a local Tavern in CA. Here's our little hymn to Aragorn: "Ranger, Leader, King" (on Tiktok).

something that i think is really interesting about billy's view of flint in s3 is that he thinks flint's death (if it's in a self-sacrificial way) will not absolve him of his sins in life but that it will make up for the hurt he's caused. or at least that billy wants it to. he pushes flint to take the maroon queen hostage so that flint will die, but flint will die for the crew. billy says in s3e6 "with all the shit that he's done, the things he's gotten away with, [flint dying to free them from the maroons] would have been fair. that would have been right" and that he wants to see "the moment the world finally catches up to [flint]" if/when he dies dueling teach. billy has a very simple idea of justice - he wants flint to die for the death and destruction he has caused, no matter how. that will make the world right, that the narrative will be balanced again.
but what billy doesn't know, and what makes me INSANE about this show is that the full quote from billy is is "I think part of the reason I've been able to stand by his [flint's] side is that I wanted to make sure I've got a good view of the moment the world finally catches up to him... and this story starts to make sense again." but to flint, what he has done is in service of his own justice. justice for the deaths of thomas and miranda and james mcgraw, for the theft of his home in london and again his home in nassau. but to billy, HIS narrative identifies flint as the villain. as the monster. for billy to get justice, flint must die. but it's SUCH a good line, because it also prompts the viewer to think - in OUR narrative, which follows flint and silver mostly, flint must succeed. we want him to beat teach and take the fleet back and overthrow the british empire. flint is shown to be a murderer but he is also shown to be deeply deeply human and we are set up to sympathize him. but it makes you consider what other voices we aren't hearing. who else has been hurt by flint's actions? what narratives have flint as the villain ? none of the characters in black sails are the heroes in every story - but to who are they the villains?

(this is just my rambles , pls scroll if u dont want to read jdakjsa ;-;)
ok i'm not good at it, but i'll try to be more serious.
King Ohger is my first sentai after about…10? 11? years since i watch toku as a kid (for sentai, i used to watch shinkenger and power rangers dino force). I start to watch toku again last year because of KR Den-O, simply just bcs i want to rewatch one of my fav childhood tv program. And i cried a lot, not just because of den-o's story but also I remember that I still love toku as much as little me back then
after finished den-o, i crave for more toku to watch, then my older sister told me there's this super sentai that all of the sentai is leaders/kings ((SHE HAVEN'T WATCH KINGOH UNTIL THIS VERY DAY DESPITE BEING ONE OF MY REASON TO WATCH KINGOH, I HATE HER////jk i love u sis)). I didn't watch kingoh while it's ongoing, i binge watch it from ep 1 while it's around eps 20-25. And i regret nothing, i feel a lot of emotions, be it's the good one or even the bad one. I laugh and I cry. I didn't live for 2000 years like jeramie, but i relate to him about dealing with grief and keep everything to yourself bcs you don't want others to worry about you. And the happiness of finally found someone you can rely on, someone that won't say anything but will pat your shoulder and reminds you that they will be on your side no matter what.
I learn a lot of thing from other king too, i learn to be kind from gira and himeno, i learn that it's okay to not care about what people say and be myself the way i am from rita, i learn to stands for what's wrong and didn't back down like yanma, and kaguragi uhm…* shake hands with kagu * yes ur my buddy bro (i swear i have one thing i relate to kagu, i just don't want to tell what it is-)
people can call it 'childish show' (my friend said that when i tell them abt kingoh and kr ;-; that's why i stopped telling abt toku to others and just keep my excitement to myself) and they're still right, but still, kingoh is special to me.
I was ready to be alone on this (I always be), i draw fanarts because i want and i like them so much, and didn't expect at all that i'll found other people that excited about the same thing like me. thank you to everyone who liked, reblog, comment, send asks, i can't always answer everything, but pls know that i appreciate every single of you,
artist, writers, gif maker, friends, everyone.
one day will come the day that my interest maybe will fade away. Until that day come, I'll enjoy my time here and drawing what i want. (((actually this applied to my other fandom too ;-;))))
for you who read this so far, thank u again <3
+ pls have this happy spiders, they're my favorites from all of the finale moments ;-;

Rise of Red Power Rangers AU
i'm known for being a huge power rangers fan around my friends/coworkers so ofc i'm doing a power rangers au for any fandom i'm apart of.
Alright Rise of Red Power Rangers AU
Red -> Red ranger (obviously)
Chloe -> Blue ranger (again, this is obvious)
Ella -> Green ranger
Bridget -> Pink ranger (obvious)
(Chris) Charming -> Yellow ranger
Special Ranger: Silver ranger -> Chad?
Notes:
Let's go with a Knights of the Round Table theme except we can call it Knights of Auradon
This is gonna be SPD inspired origin (but I'm borrowing other elements from other series)
Chloe expected to be lead ranger (even though her whole color palette is blue) bc she'd be a legacy ranger from her parents being the previous power rangers.
Queen Cinderella and King Charming are separate from Ella and Charming. Cinderella -> Cindy (former blue ranger) and King Charming -> Reginald Charming (former red ranger)
Red and Bridget are from the enemy camp of the Queen of Hearts and get the chance to escape with the help of the Sorcerer's Cookbook that they stole from the Queen of Hearts. However, during their escape, the Cookbook gets damaged, scattering all of its pages all throughout Auradon.
Chloe, Charming, and Ella have all been rangers in training and are finally allowed to see if they are worthy of their morphers.
Their morphers are Swords-in-a-Stone (kind of like Lost Galaxy), but they don't know their colors until they morph.
Luckily, all 3 are deemed worthy of their swords and are immediately sent into the field to capture intruders from Wonderland which are Red and Bridget.
When they morph for the first time, Chloe is shocked she's blue ranger but they still manage to apprehend Red and Bridget and bring them back to base.
Base is at Cinderellasburg estate in Auradon
Chloe's parents (and Charming's aunt/uncle) are the mentors of the group.
Cindy goes to talk to Red and Bridget about the Queen of Hearts, revealing they used to share a past and tries to convince them to help Auradon since they put up quite a fight with the rangers in training.
Bridget immediately takes her up on the offer, becoming the Pink ranger.
Red initially declines the offer since the Queen of Hearts is her mom and she doesn't want anything to do with her, much less fight her.
Meanwhile, Chloe goes to her dad, asking why he thinks she didn't get red ranger. King Reginald tells her that he suspects that her views on the world are too black and white and that she doesn't always see the full picture before rushing into the field with her sword.
Chloe, Ella, Charming, and Bridget are sent out in the field when the Queen sends out a monster from wonderland accompanied by tons of card soldiers and the Ace the Royal Guard.
Back at base, Red is walking around the grounds of the Cinderellasburg estate and comes across some of the background tech team composed of Faye and Zellie who somehow convince her that joining the team is what Red wants in order to prevent other people from getting hurt by her mother.
Red joins the team mid-fight when it seems like they're losing to both the monster and Ace. It is revealed that Ace and Red were really close friends in Wonderland but Ace saw Red's running away as a betrayal. Red morphs into the red ranger and reveals that all the duels the two had in the past, she let him win for his own pride.
After injuring Ace and destroying the Monster of the Week, the team celebrates, but Chloe still holds a grudge against Red being team leader.
It doesn't help when Red is in charge of training drills and puts the team through hell. She ends up getting a lesson in leadership and does all the drills herself later on.
Uliana, Hook, and Morgie are either part of the comedic relief where they're always up to something and always end up needing rescuing OR they're part of the Queen of Hearts Royal Council and become some of the villains for the rangers to defeat closer to the finale.
The main motivation for the Queen of Hearts to attack Auradon and the rangers is to get back scattered remains of the Sorcerer's Cookbook.
Chad has a guest role and serves as the temporary Silver ranger
When not in use, the team uses some magical bracelets to summon their sword morphers which are stored on the magical stone.
Their morph call would be like Mystic Force where they point their swords to the sky and say something like "For the Honor of the Kingdom!" (she-ra inspired, sue me)
Throughout their run, Red and Chloe constantly butt heads with Red going for more unconventional means while Chloe wants to follow the rules. Most of the time, they end up having to compromise. Also, they're roommates
While Bridget and Ella are also opposite personalities, they end up hitting it off fairly well.
Charming is getting into some hijinks and Bridget senses the tension between him and Ella (who often scolds him) and is often trying to do matchmaking between the two or causing ruckus in the kitchen.
Ella and Chloe have a more sisterly bond, with Chloe often going to Ella about her arguments with Red.
Red and Bridget are cousins and Bridget often gets Red's side of the argument that Chloe probably told Ella about so when Ella and Bridget get back to their shared room, they're just rolling their eyes at the two other rangers.
Chloe gets along with Bridget due to their bubbly personalities, while Ella and Red get along from their shared motherly trauma (Ella lived with her stepmother before becoming a ranger).
Chloe and Charming are the best swordspersons on the team, often dueling each other with their matches ended up tied.
Charming teaches Red how to skateboard.
Bridget and Charming are often trying to get Ella to relax and join them in some silly little activity.
Red learns motherly love from Cindy
Anyway, Red and Chloe eventually learn to work together and learn a lot about each other. That's when the romance begins >:)
Finale: The gang is invited to Castlecoming at Auradon's Grand Castle.
Red and Chloe go together and they're about to confess their feelings when the Queen of Hearts makes an appearance for the first time. With the shock, she kidnaps Cindy releases her army of cards on Auradon and the Cinderellasburg estate.
Red consoles Chloe who is already thinking the worst, and she is backed up by the other members of the team who promise to get Cindy back whatever it takes.
Against King Reginald's orders, the rangers go off and enter Wonderland.
Chad stays back to help fend off the card soldiers with the other Knights of Cinderellasburg.
Red and Bridget have to lead the team through the treacherous terrain of Wonderland but they make it and manage to sneak into the castle.
They split up: Ella, Bridget, and Charming go off to rescue Cindy. Meanwhile, Chloe and Red go to confront the Queen of Hearts.
Red tries to compromise with her mom, saying that there's gotta be another way, but she ends up initiating the first attack.
Chloe and Red end up fighting the Queen of Hearts and they're doing really well until the Queen of Hearts manages to temporarily get the upper hand. She goes to strike down Red, but Chloe steps in front of her and takes the blow.
Red rises up and takes Chloe's sword, and along with her own sword, finally goes full out against her mom.
She gets to defeat her mom and knocks her out but discovers that the army of the Queen is still not defeated and is being fueled by the Sorcerer's Cookbook which has a strong protective spell around it that even the Queen of Hearts can't stop.
The other rangers come back with Cindy and Cindy tells them there is one last option, which is to combine all of their swords into one sword. However, there's a catch: the sword can only be wielded by one person and there's a chance of them getting destroyed by its power, plus destroying the cookbook would unleash even more energy, essentially giving the wielder of the sword a death sentence.
Red steps up, saying that she'll do it, and rebukes Cindy's offer to do it since Red promised Chloe she would get her mother back. Reluctantly, they all merge their swords (Cindy is able to wield Chloe's sword since she's still unconscious and since Cindy was the former blue ranger) and Red wields the Five Sword. She manages to strike the protective shield of the cookbook and stabs the Cookbook and is holding on as a great power is about to take her out.
At the last minute, the Queen of Hearts wakes up from being unconscious and sees that Red is about to die from both wielding the sword and destroying the cookbook. She steps up, takes the sword from Red and shoves her back to the other rangers.
Finally, with a bright light, the Cookbook is destroyed, along with the Queen of Hearts to Red's dismay.
Chloe is still out and Red doesn't know what to do until Cindy suggests a True Love's Kiss.
It works and when Chloe finally comes to, she asks what happens and Red says that her mom is gone, but they won. Chloe only puts a hand on the other girl's cheek, consoling her but relieved that they won.
Time Skip: Without the Queen of Hearts, Red has claim to Wonderland's throne. She and Chloe are now a couple, currently running Wonderland. The rest of the team gets relocated to Wonderland as they have a new mission: help Red and Chloe rebuild Wonderland and join it with the United States of Auradon.

“Not like that, Strider.” You giggled something fierce as he tripped over his own feet for the umpteenth time that night. Somehow you had convinced him to dance with you after quite literally decades of trying to get him as your partner.
“Have I not already told you how hopeless this is, Callia?” He asked you by your chosen Ranger name. You had to abandon Y/N when you left home all those years ago. If you were captured you must never give up your true name for your family could bear danger to your chosen work.
“You just need to relax yourself. Your mind.” You poked his forehead while grinning from ear to ear.
He sighed, “I cannot keep making a fool of myself in front of…”
You stopped him by placing his hand on your hip catching him most off guard, “My King overthinks.” You whispered as you took a soft step towards him. He smelled good. Like of the woody scent he naturally had but even better.
“I am no King.”
You smiled more to yourself than him, “Not yet. But the people have decided. It be but a mere month and you shall be.”
“It does not feel right hearing you call me that, my lady.” He countered while raising his eyebrows right up waiting for your retaliation.
Trying your best, but failing, you made a face in reaction, “You know I am hardly a lady.”
He hummed. Not even realizing you had begun to lead him you kept talking trying to rid his mind of the thoughts that plagued him. For if there was anybody who knew Strider better than himself it was you. Time had a way of making your heart the softest for him and truly only him. Countless sleepless nights of diving into your worst nightmares and trauma would find a way to bond the two seemingly hopeless souls.
“The opposite is true.” He smiled down at you with a look you had rarely seen from the hardened leader. You had been away from him longer than you wished. He had told you to go to Minas Tirith after getting orders from Gandalf to help the Hobbits of the Shire. You had heard the story of the great Bilbo Baggins and now apparently Strider had to accompany his nephew, Frodo. He had told you to go to Minas Tirith and wait for his word.
That had been six months ago. You had gotten used to life without him how odd it may seem. You had made a few friends that you probably never would have had Strider joined you. It was terribly uncomfortable. Your simple life changed when you had gotten word from him asking you to join him in Rohan. He knew something was coming and needed all the help he could get.
“A lady does not count her kills.” You spoke breaking the comfortable silence between the two of you. A shift occurred as he had taken control of the dancing now. Your easy banter all but freeing his mind from his thoughts. Dancing wasn’t so bad. Especially if he got to hold you like this.
“By your definition.” He smirked down but dared not look into your eyes for he knew he would cave to any of your demands, “Not by mine. And did you not say I was to be King?”
You fought every urge in you not to pinch his side, “You are impossible.”
“Do you not refute, my lady?” His smirk only grew as he noticed your face fighting the urge to react. It was amusing watching you try and stay neutral. For he had missed this. Sure, it was not only the two of you dancing but it had felt like it. You had a way of taking his mind off of whatever he needed. You had always seemed to have known what he may have needed.
“It is no use in arguing with you, Aragorn.” You gave him the eye letting him know you were not over the little secret he had kept from you for so long. You had only found out of the name when Legolas shouted it on the battlefield almost costing you your life. It had left you stunned. Who was Aragorn and why had Strider reacted as if it was his name.
Because it was. He had apologized profusely before you finally gave in. Leading you to this moment with him. You had finally convinced him he needed to learn how to properly dance since he was to be the king. And lucky for him you so happened to know many dances as your mother had insisted a girl your age to learn them all those years ago in Dúnedain.
An amused smile crossed his features as he led you across the dance floor. Maybe he was not so pathetic after all, “It is not like you, Callia, to bite your tongue.”
“Hush you.” A laugh escaped you. It was no use trying to hide your own amusement. Yes, he pushed you, but it had also shown you how much he too cared for you.
He slowly stopped the two of you from your dance before replying, “You are most fortunate the music has ended."
A quick nod left you head as it spun out of control by his soft touch and daring words, “Most fortunate indeed.” Begrudgingly you took a step back knowing the moment between the two of you had ended.
But his words had stopped you from turning all the way around, “I will stop teasing you if you lead me in another dance. For I must learn. I do not wish to embarrass you.”
You only grinned before stepping back into his hands, “You could never embarrass me Strider.”
Tumblr media
Your eyes glistened with unshed tears as you took in the breathtaking room before you. Stifling a laugh, you couldn’t truly believe you had made it here with him, alive and in one piece. Your truest and oldest friend crowned the King of Gondor. How you would never have believed this only three years prior. You watched as royalty and common people alike danced with joy and glee for their newfound leader. Aragorn. It felt the most surreal as you watched him mingle with people that mattered. A King. Who would’ve thought. Glancing down at your nearly empty glass you sighed knowing you had to make the walk back to get another drink.
But you never made it as you were intercepted by nonother the man you were watching far too often that night, “Strider!” You smiled trying to play it off as nothing as his broad hands covered the length of your forearm with ease, “You best get dancing. You have many eyes on you, my King.” You grinned with ease knowing calling him such made him uncomfortable. You truly had known him as Strider for as long as you could remember. You’d met as teenagers in your youth, kids from Dúnedain.
Your fathers were friends keeping you close together often until he went off on his own. When it came time to leave you had heard Strider was a Ranger. Having a feeling you’d run into him again you weren’t surprised you were assigned to his company not long after you left home to find a purpose. Just like him. In a lot of ways, you were the same. But in so many different.
For the last sixty or so years the two of you became something of a menace in the North. Something to be feared. Always working as a team, the two of you always seemed to come out of battles unscathed.
He grumbled in response to the title name you had used on him, “I have told you not to call me that. It does not feel right hearing those words from you. Strider will do.”
You smiled seeing how you managed to get under his skin with such ease, “Strider is too informal. May I call you Aragorn at least?”
“I think Strider is perfectly formal. But you may call me as you see fit. So long as it is not, my King.” He smiled right back at you. Even he had to admit how nice it was seeing you so at ease. He had roamed the North for nearly sixty years with you. He had never seen you so relaxed. He was sure he had seen you smiling more tonight than he had in the past sixty combined. You smiled like that bright eyed teenager who had an obvious crush on the older teen. It was times like these that made him wish he had told you how he had felt the same. He had longed for you for so long in silence. He had a duty to uphold. But now? Time was different. He needed somebody on his side. He had always known that somebody was you.
You bowed just knowing it would push his nerves further, “As my King wishes, I shall only refer to him as Aragorn.”
His mouth dropped at your brazenness, but he should have known better. He was convinced you were placed with him was to keep hm grounded. You had a certain way about you that had him acting his very best, “Y/N.” He let out an audible sigh letting you know he was annoyed.
“Strider.” You raised an eyebrow as if to challenge him knowing that name was now obsolete in your vocabulary. He was Aragorn now. You could get used to it.
He looked to the dance floor before turning back to you, “Would you join me in a dance?” He held his hand out for you to take giving you your favorite impatient face. It was your favorite thing to do after all, push his buttons.
Your smirk turned up into a genuine smile, “This is a pleasant change. I would be honored to join you in a dance, Aragorn.”
“Are you going to choose a name Callia?” He grumbled as you placed your hand in his. His smile never faltered even though he pretended to be most annoyed by you. It wasn’t lost on your how gently he wrapped his hand around yours before nodding his head to the nearly empty ballroom floor.
You giggled more to yourself knowing how annoyed he was with you. Maybe you should stop winding him up. It was almost too much fun to stop though, “Am I not allowed to interchange two of your many names?” You followed along his lead down to the center of the empty floor.
He stopped once he had found a place good enough. Placed one hand over your hip and one behind your back, “Hands on my shoulders.” His voice dropped nearly an octave as he gave you a simple order. A shiver ran down your side at his touch. This was new for you as well. Sure, you had found him ever so attractive, but he hadn’t the slightest interest in you. Everything was platonic as could be between the two of you. So, you had backed off and kept it cool knowing nothing was ever going to happen.
You did as he wished and wrapped your hands around his neck, far more intimate than you had intended but you were committed now. It would be almost more embarrassing to unwrap yourself from him, “You did not answer my question.” You spoke trying to rid your mind of overthinking this situation you had seemed to find yourself in.
He gave you a grin as his eyes trailed all over your face, “I was only playing with you. You may call me as you please.”
Before you could answer the music started forcing your concentration of following his lead. It was impressive how quickly he had picked up on the steps of the dances you had only taught him only a few times a month ago. It had been a little over a month after the Celebration of Helm’s Deep after the hell that was the battle.
You were almost upset when the music had stopped knowing his hands would soon leave you. It was not right to have these feelings for such a longtime friend. Let alone the King of Gondor. But how could you not? He was Strider the great Ranger of the North. He was Aragorn the leader of the Fellowship. He was the King of Gondor. He was everything.
Fortunate for you he hadn’t move his hands from your waist even as the music stopped, “I do think I should call you Aragorn. It suits your stature. You have outgrown Strider.”
He bowed his head before slowly bringing his eyes up to yours, “Then Aragorn I shall be, my lady.” He was smirking now knowing how much you too loathed the high title he had seemed to start calling you.
With a frustrated breath your eyes narrowed at his, “If you shall call me my lady, then I will call you my King.” You too didn’t enjoy how the high title rolled off his lips. You were anything but a lady even in the dress you protested but had been convinced of.
He let out a breathy chuckle as he finally came back to his senses and let his hands go of your waist. You feared to admit how much you had enjoyed his touch and closeness, “I suppose that is fair, Callia.”
Stepping forward to straighten his collar you could only smile up at him in adoration, “You look very handsome tonight. Who knew you cleaned up so well?”
He took your hand in his once more, “It took a fair bit of work. But I must say, it is you who shines the brightest tonight.”
He had never complimented you so forthright before it drew a small gasp out of your very own mouth, “You are most kind to me. Thank you Aragorn.” You were suddenly thankful you had put some makeup on. You were praying it was covering up the sure-fire pink tint that was bound to be covering your cheeks.
He watched as you turned away from him, “You must get back to your advisor. He looks very weary over in the corner.” You tried a good excuse to walk away from him. He was suddenly becoming too much even for you.
“Wait,” You stopped and turned back to him with that subtle blush coating your face. When you stopped he continued, “Come take a walk with me. I wish to talk with just you.” His darting eyes let you know people were listening, always listening in now that he had such a high title.
“As you wish.” You followed him as he left the hall as discretely as he could.
The two of you had made it all the way to the gardens before he had spoken once more, “I want to thank you, Y/N.” By speaking your true born name, you knew this was serious. There was no playfulness of my lady or the knowing name of Callie. Y/N.
You had no clue where this was coming from. Truly, you rattled your mind for further thoughts before you gave in, “Whatever for?”
He smiled as he led you down the path of roses he had grown fond of in his short time here, “For always being there for me. You have shown up for me time and time yet again.” He paused taking your hand in his before placing a gentle kiss on the back of it. Had he no idea what he was doing to you?
“You are my truest friend.” You answered honestly after a few long moments of trying your hardest not to cave into whatever was taking over your mind. He was your friend! Only a friend. That is all he had ever wanted. He was simply thanking you for the journey. That was all. One chapter of your lives had closed and the next was to begin. You had to wonder where you would end up. In the capital being a guard? Roaming the woodland realms for danger? Head home and care for your aging parents? The choices were endless for your new life.
He let out a short laugh, “For that you are. May I tell you something?”
“Anything.” The response was so automatic it almost took you by surprise.
“If not for you, I would not be here.” He spoke quickly.
It took you much longer to process those words, “What do you mean?”
“If I had not known you would always be there I would not be king.” He smiled as his eyes traced your nervous face. You were truly the most beautiful woman he had ever known. How had he gotten so lucky with you? And by any other stroke of luck, you would accept his next question that had been weighing heavily on his mind.
“I am not sure what you mean Aragorn.” Your heart rate sped up just a tad as he stepped back from you. He fished something out of his robe pocked. Your eyes went wide as he held an old relic. A beautiful ring covered in gemstones.
“You have always been there for me Y/N. I fear nobody could ever take that place. I wish nobody to take that place. For I am the happiest when I am with you. Those last six months have not been good for me. But now that I am back with you I feel whole once again. There is no lady that could take your place Y/N. For your place is next to me.” The last words to come out of his mouth almost came out as a whisper for even he was nervous. The mighty King of Gondor afraid of some feelings he had almost his entire life. Oh, how his father would be laughing now.
Your heart rate kicked it up another notch. It felt like you had been training it was racing so fast, “Forgive me, I fear I am not enough…”
He stopped you this time though by placing a gentle finger on your lips, “I wish to not hear you speak poorly of yourself. For I do not respect those words. I will never believe them. I do know your entirely Y/N. Please, do me the honor of letting me court you.”
Your breath had been taken from you now, “You like me?” You had managed to get out feeling oddly faint.
“I love you.” He said so effortlessly you weren’t sure you had him quite right.
Your eyes turned up to his as he stepped closer to you, “You love me?”
A quick nod came from his head as his eyes bore right into yours, “I do.”
“I love you, too.” You spoke back before you could let your thoughts get the better of you.
His hands moved to your cheeks as he held you in his own, “For nearly seventy years I have yearned to hear those words from your lips.”
“For that long?” You asked in bewilderment to his statement. How had he kept it from you with such ease? It amazed you he had managed to be so stoic when you had been so obvious. Why had he fought it for so long?
He did what you least expected and bowed down to you, slowly. He had made sure you knew his intention, “I may not have always been wise to it but indeed. I have always loved you.”
You nodded quickly, your smile beaming brighter than ever before. He was sure that was his new favorite look on you, “Yea.”
“Yea?” He asked you as confirmation.
“I accept. I would be honored to stand by your side Aragorn.” Before you could bow to him he caught your chin in his hand shaking his hand to let you know that would be most unnecessary.
“You are doing me the honor.” He fastened the necklace with the ring on your neck tucking it underneath the top of your dress. His hands trailed down your sides resting on your hip for longer than he should have. He needed to take a step back or he would kiss you. Not that you wouldn’t let him, no. He was sure you would be more than happy about it. He simply wanted to charm you before he kissed you. He would not rush into this with you. For he had taken nearly seventy years to admit how he had felt. What was a little longer?
“You made it, Strider. You did it.” You brushed his wavy hair away from his face knowing that would be the last time you referred to him as such. From here forth he would be Aragorn. And you would wed him. How a life you dreamed of had come to fruition was beyond you.
He shook his head grabbing at your hands once more, “We made it. We did it.” He spoke of all the wishes the two of you spoke about in your many long nights. The dreams had seemed to come truer than either of you could have imagined. It almost didn’t feel real.
You nodded with nothing but love in your eyes, “Indeed, we did it.”

Tiriel acknowledges Astarion's nature both of a vampire and an elf. She loves his soft part. She loves his predatory part. Tiriel gives him her blood, she encourages him to go on a hunt. She never acts all just and fair by not allowing him to kill his prey. But Tiriel also talks to him in Elven, caresses his ears and never interrupts his reverie.
Astarion acknowledges Tiriel’s mixed nature, both an elf and a human. He never stops her from fighting or drinking. Always on her side. Always supporting her. He talks to her in Elven and caresses her ears. Astarion encourages Tiriel to join an adventuring party even if it means he is on his own for a couple of days. Astarion never looks down on her for her low intelligence or inability to read.
When Alethaine is born, they don't try to make her something she isn't. They know she is a predator and never punish her for bringing dead animals home or biting. They don't force Alethaine to act "normal", no one is normal at their home. Alethaine is clingy. She cries for attention. She ressurects the dead animals she brings home. She is a monster and she is taught not to be embarassed by it.
When Alethaine grows she is fine being on her own.
Until she isn't.
Alethaine meets a ranger, a monster slayer. She thinks she has seen him before in some feverish dreams. He looks like a character from an elven legend.
Elren Goldenroot has never belonged. His faher and his clan had died before Elren was born. His mother offed herself out of grief. Raised by humans, Elren has been witnessing the downfall of the elven kind believing the world is close to the end. He hunts down monsters and demons and is very good at this.
He knows how to deal with them.
Elren Goldenroot sees Alethaine Ancunin for what she is. She has a soft and swet side deep under the black fabric. She is good with kids and protect the least fortunate. That her cynicism is superficial. He acknowledges her monstrous side and doesn't cringe if she accidentally bites him. Elren knows she is stronger than him but he doesn’t feel intimidated.
Alethaine knows her beloved's duality. Elven hero, a fighter, a leader. First a warrior, then a king. He is everything people imagine when they read about elves. But he is a monster slayer, a ruthless hunter who has seen the most unimaginable horrors. And that such life is his free choice. Alethaine knows his struggles, his low self-esteem, his lack of confidence. She suppports him no matter what.
Their daughter is named after Tiriel. Tiri is her parents' little fire. She is nothing like Alethaine or Elren but Astarion notices her resemblance to Tiriel. It seems like she even doesn't notice her grandfather isn't like other elves.
The most difficult thing for Astarion is acknowledging Tiri doesn't like macabre and black things like Alethaine. That his dark princess gave birth to the girl who is afraid of the dark and would never go to a graveyard.
Sometimes Astarion watches his granddaughter trancing and he thinks he really enjoys being a grandfather.

Elf-Knight Kyle HC!
Tumblr media
note: this is kind of a preview of how kyle will be written in my SoT inspired kyle/reader fic, so if you like these headcannons, look out for that! to be clear, however, this is not focused on kyle and his relationship to the reader; only on him and his antics.
warnings: vulgar language, mentions of blood, reader insert mentioned, in green there will be light facts about how these connect to my au!!
Tumblr media
• kyle is surprisingly good at close combat
for someone who spend most of their life learning elven magic, he picked up swordsmanship and knifepoint skills with ease.
• kyle takes some effort to make truly angry
• like he was easy to anger before, but now he’s calm to the point that it’s scary
• kyle is the diplomat of his kingdom alllll the way
• when he’s not training (or training other knights), he can be found reading, studying, and connecting to the land to see its history
ideally, in this fanfic, we have 5 minor kingdoms and a realm they all are a part of. as a holy-knight of larnion, kyle is well versed in the history of his kingdom; and moreover, his realm.
• when kyle uses his magic for too long his hair loses its color and his freckles fade
• he’s one of those bitches who brags about knowing different languages
• like he’ll use slang from other realms and kingdoms in casual conversation and think it’s the coolest thing EVER
• in battle, rather than zeroing in on a target, kyle is uniquely aware of all his adversaries
he learned quickly how to use his magic and his physical abilities, so he will often use his sword on one opponent and magic on another; simultaneously.
• he is very possessive with his partners and friends
• he’s willing to get hurt, risk danger, whatever; just as long as his friends aren’t hurt
• “you dare raise your sword to her!”
• “you lay so much as a finger on them and i will have you, your family, and your next of kin’s heads.”
• he is not chill in the face of battle.
• he doesn’t exactly panic, but he defaults to the offense; always one to strike first and make the last move.
• if you swing, he’ll swing harder. if you make a cut, he’ll take your sword. kyle is just a force to be reckoned with in general
• but when you’ve entered his inner circle, he is very sweet, and even more than that, touchy
• it’s not always super obvious, but it’s little gestures
• moving pieces of hair, wiping blood after battle, bandaging injuries, and if you’re lucky you may hold his hand!
if you were hypothetically in a relationship with sir kyle, this would apply too ;)
• finally, kyle is not all that much of a leader
• intelligent? absolutely. strong? of course. talented? indubitably! but he would much rather assist than take the reigns
• he will lead if he must, but he usually asks to simply assist; give advice, share his wisdom and offer guidance.
no elf-king kyle and ranger stan here! in this fic, the two work alongside each other as friends and comrades in the purest of forms. stan takes the reigns, and kyle is somewhat of an advisor.

On August 30th we venerate Young King Brother Fred Hampton on his 75th birthday 🎉
Tumblr media
Deputy Chairman Fred Hampton was the one of THE greatest orators, leaders, and visionaries to join the Black Panther Party Of Self-Defense 🖤✊🏾
Fred Hampton was born & raised in the Chicago suburbs of Illinois. Civil liberties, rights, and laws were always of great interest to him. After graduating high school, he enrolled in a pre-law program at Triton Junior College in River Grove, Illinois. He joined his local NAACP branch to get involved in the civil rights movement. He rose to the position of Youth Council President for his strong leadership and organization skills. In this position, Brother Hampton mobilized a racially diverse group of 500 young men/women who successfully lobbied city officials to create better academic services and recreational facilities for Black American youth.
In 1968, he joined the Black Panther Party of Self-Defense, headquartered in Oakland, CA. Shortly thereafter, he was selected to head the Chicago Chapter. Here, he created strong personal and political ties with his mentor & chaplain, Father George Clements at the [then] Holy Angels Catholic Church; which served as a safe haven for the Panthers targeted for police surveillance or harassment.
Brother Hampton accomplished a great many things as a young, prolific leader of the BPP Chicago Chapter. He successfully negotiated a gang truce on live television. One of his greatest successes was an unprecedentedly integrated approach to sociopolitical unity; he formed a “Rainbow Coalition”, which included: the Students for a Democratic Society, the Blackstone Rangers, a street gang and the National Young Lords, a local Puerto Rican organization. He was the first leading Panther to achieve this. This alliance is what truly struck the cord of fear in the Chicago P.D. & the FBI. In an effort to neutralize the Chicago Chapter of the BPP, the Black Panthers were placed under heavy surveillance & were subjected to several harassment campaigns.
By 1969, several Black Panthers and Chicago cops either suffered injury or were killed in shootouts across the city, which resulted in the arrest of over 100 members. On Dec 4th of that same year, under the FBI's initiative, the County PD & Chicago PD conducted heinous, unlawful, and unnecessary raid on the Black Panther Party's HQ in the early morning hours while Brother Hampton, leader Mark Clark, and other Panthers slept. They fired over 100 rounds into the apartment without warning. Twelve officers executed Brother Hampton as he slept, drugged by a sedative slipped into his drink by "Panther"/FBI informant O'Neal. Naturally, in Jan 1970, the County Coroner's office ruled the Black Panther leaders' deaths as "justifiable homicide".
Over 5,000 souls attended Brother Hampton’s funeral. Many civil rights activates eulogized him, including his good friend and mentor Father George, who also held a Requem Mass for him at his church.
After many years of coverups, internal investigations, lawsuits, raids, and conspiracies confirmed, the FBI, County PD, & Chicago PD finally admitted to the wrongful deaths of Brother Hampton and Mark Clark. In 1990, and again in 2004, the Chicago City Council passed resolutions commemorating December 4th as Fred Hampton Day. Today, Brother Hampton rests at the Bethel Cemetery in Haynesville, LA where his parents are from - which continues to endure violent desecration from White Supremacist vigilantes/supporters.
" You can kill a revolutionary but you can never kill the revolution. People have to be armed to have power" - Young King Fred Hampton
We pour libations & give him💐 today as we celebrate him for his love of our people, his relentless dedication to the BPP cause, and his young yet wise spirit that lives on. May be the find restful peace in spirit that he was/is denied in the physical.
Offering suggestions: flower offerings at his grave, libations of water, prayers and frankincense toward his elevation
‼️Note: offering suggestions are just that & strictly for veneration purposes only. Never attempt to conjure up any spirit or entity without proper divination/Mediumship counsel.‼️

Hello my fellow Tumblrsapiens it's me again
now you will learn about my original Sentai
Yojutsu Sentai Obakeranger (Yokai arts squad ghost Rangers)
Motif: Yokais, Sorcerer/exorcists, magic
It is inspired by animes such as Shaman king Yokai Watch Jujutsu Kaisen and the concept of Onmyodo (Japanese exoteric magic), among other things.
The story revolves around a young man who, upon arriving in a new city, discovers that it is haunted by terrible spirits known as Onryo but the city is defended by yojutsu shamans. Soon after saving the life of a Nekomata (cat yokai) he awakens his yokai power and becomes Obake Red, joining the team and beginning his journey to become a shaman.
The rangers are:
Obake Red: a young man obsessed with the supernatural and the occult and even though he doesn't have shaman blood he can use yojutsu techniques, this is one of the mysteries of the series
His element is fire and his yokai partner is a Nekomata (Two-Tailed Cat)
Obake blue: A serious young man and strategist and was the former leader before Red's arrival and because of this, a rivalry ends up being created between the two, he wants to honor his clan of shamans at all costs. His element is wood and his yokai partner is a tengu (raven man)
Obake yellow: The youngest on the team. Imperative and playful but he hates when people treats him like a child, his element is earth and his yokai partner is a Tsuchinoko (snake yokai)
Obake Black: Before being called by her family to be a shaman she was a sukeban (juvenile delinquent) gang leader she is the typical tomboy and doesn't like too much feminine things she is tough but deep down she has a soft heart
Her element is water and her yokai partner is a kappa
Obake White: She didn't really want to be a shaman, she actually wanted to follow her dream of being a "cosplayer idol" but her family repressed her, but among her teammates she can be herself and that's why she appears almost always with a new cosplay when he arrives on the scene. Sweet and cheerful, she is the heart of the team
Her element is metal and her yokai partner is a jorogumo (spider woman yokai)
OniSlayer: a man who renounced his shaman side who made a pact with an oni in order to take revenge he does not use spells but rather martial arts with oni energy
His color is purple, his element is darkness and his yokai partner is Shuten Douji
(I imagine his ranger suit design to be very inspired by Gosei Knight, Gaisoulg and Rio from Gekiranger)
The collectibles are Yo-Fudas, cards inspired by Ofuda talismans that are responsible for the team's spells, weapons and zords
Each ranger has their own deck of Yo-Fudas based on different yokais of their respective elements
About the mechas, I think of something a bit similar Go-Onger, Go-Buster and Goseiger, zords that are half yokai and half vehicle
Red: Nekomata/ racing car
Blue: Tengu/ fighter jet
Yellow: Tsuchinoko/ Shovel
Black: Kappa/ submarine
White: Jorogumo/ Snowmobile
OniSlayer: Oni/Tank
The main five Rangers have a shared mecha (gashadokuro/ Dekotora) that serves as the mecha main body (similar to the Korean toku Legend Hero) and can make multiple combinations
The villains are the Onryo, vengeful spirits whose mission is to resurrect their leader (Tatarigami) so they can create "hell on Earth" and take revenge on the living.
Its method of creating monsters is very similar to that of Miraculous Ladybug
They choose a human with bad feelings such as grudge and malice and incorporate an evil spirit into their body that ends up creating a monster linked to something (an object in most cases) while the monster causes chaos the possessed victim begins to perform the ritual to send his soul to Tatarigami so that he can be reborn (the ritual ends with the victim 💀 themselves)so the Rangers have to defeat the monster through exorcism (the monster also attacks people with the aim of accumulating people's negative energies to help with the ritual)
So that's it, that's my idea. Again, anyone who wants to give ideas on how to improve this story (specially about the villains) it would be greatly appreciated.

As portrayed in the show Black Sails (2014-2017) Anne Bonny (AKA Ann Fulford) - One of the few female pirates in recorded history was from Ireland. She would move to Nassau with her husband James Bonny where she would meet John Rackham (Calico Jack) and become his partner in crime and lover. Some reports say she lived until 1782 but that is unlikely. She, Mary Read (AKA Mark Read), and Calico Jack were captured in October 1720. Bonny and Mary Read were spared hanging due to being with child, Read would die in prison of fever while Bonny's death was never recorded. A book written in 1964 (Mistress Of The Seas) said Bonny died in the American colonies in the 1780's but burial records form Spanish Town, Jamaica where Bonny was tried lists Ann Bonny's death as 29 December 1733. Calico Jack (AKA John Rackham) - Rackham come and fell at the end of the Golden Age of Piracy. His is most famous for having two female crew members, Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Rackham would overthrow Pirate Captain Charles Vane for command of the Sloop Ranger. In 1719 Rackham would take a pardon from Governor Woodes Roger and for a short time became and honest man. In December of that year him and his crew would capture the Kingston that had a rich cargo. The Kinston was captured within sight of Port Royal where merchants outfitted bounty hunters to track them down. Bounty hunters would eventually capture Rackham and crew on or about 31 October 1720 and he would be hanged on 18 November 1720. Charles Vane - Vane started his life as a pirate in 1715 while attacking salvage camps recovering the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet that sank off the coast of Florida. By 1717 he was captain of his own ship and one of the leaders of the "Republic of Pirates in Nassau. Vane was captured in 1718 and agreed to stop is pirate was and accept the King's Pardon. Vane was known to be sadistic to the crews of captured ships, often beating and torturing them. In February 1719 Vane would be caught in a storm and marooned on an uncharted island. A passing British ship found him, he was arrested brought to Port Royal and tried and hanged 29 March 1721. Blackbeard-Edward Teach (AKA Edward Thatch) - Blackbeard joined the crew of Pirate Captain Benjamin Hornigold in 1716 Hornigold placed Blackbeard in command of a recently captured sloop, where they conducted many pirate raids. By late 1716 or early 1717 they had captured 2 more sloops to bolster their attacks, one of those ships would be captained by Stede Bonnet. In 1717 Hornigold would retire from piracy to become a pirate hunter taking two of the ships with him. Blackbeard would eventually capture the French Slave ship La Concorde, he renamed her Queen Ann's Revenge. He would crew her with 300 men and add 40 guns to it making it one of the most feared pirate ships ever. After blockading the port of Charles Town, South Carolina and ransoming the ports people Blackbeard ran the Queen Ann aground near Beaufort, North Carolina. He settled in Bath North Carolina, and accepted a Royal Pardon. He would not stay honest for long. Eventually, Alexander Sportswood (HAHAHAHAHAHA!) the Governor of Virginia would put a force of soldiers and sailors together to capture Blackbeard. After an intense fight Blackbeard and several of his crew would be killed in 22 November 1718. Black beard was a solid tactician and did not like the use of violence, he relied more on his fearsome look and reputation to get his victims to comply.
Woodes Rogers - Rogers was a privateer, slave traders and from 1718 -1721 the first Royal Governor of the Bahamas. He is mostly remembered for being captain of the ship that rescued Alexander Selkirk after 4 years and 4 months as a castaway on a South Pacific island. His story is told to have inspired Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe (25 April 1719). 24 July 1718 Rogers trapped Captain Vane and his ships in Nassau Harbor, in an attempt to flee Vane rammed one of his ships into Rogers ship. The attempt failed but Rogers ships were forced out of the harbor where Vane pillaged Nassau and escaped in a smaller ship. With Nassau and New Providence Island population if 200 and a few hundred Spanish escapees in the hands of Rogers he formed government guaranteeing Royal pardons for pirates those would work for him. A month after becoming Governor Blackbeard and Captain Vane wrote letters saying they were teaming up to retake the island and the Spanish planed to force the British off the island. About this time 100 of his original crew died of a disease that left most of the original inhabitants untouched. 2 of his 3 ships left for New York never to return, that last ship would leave a short time later. After extending himself well into debt to bolster the defenses of the Bahamas's and a successfully repelling the Spanish assault Rogers was put in debtors prison for lack of payment. Eventually his debtors took pity on him and he was released. Rogers was approached by a still unknown author writing a book called A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pyrates, it become a hit on both sides of the ocean once again putting Rogers in a positive light. In 1726 Rogers petitioned King George I for financial regress, the King not only granted Rogers a pension but mad it retroactive to 1721. King George II would reinstall Rogers as the Royal Governor of the Bahamas for a second time on 22 October 1728. Although there was no longer a pirate threat the struggle of government took a heath toll on him and he died 15 July 1732 in Nassau. Captain Flint, the antihero of Black Sails, and John Silver were not real people. Both of them are fictional characters from the Robert Louis Stevenson book Treasure Island (Magazine 1881, book 1883). They are the only two characters to be in all 38 episodes.

Jonsas never mention the fact that Jon dreamed of being a conqueror like King Daeron, I wonder why…
(Do you really "wonder why" or are you content making vague implications you don't care to spell out because it would make them even easier to refute?)
Why don't we spend our days talking about this?
Because GRRM mentions it twice, and both times he already dismantles it?
The first time it's a drunk 14-year-old trying to justify why he's already superqualified to join the Night's Watch, hoping to become a glamorously exciting ranger.
"Daeren Targaryen was only fourteen when he conquered Dorne," Jon said. The Young Dragon was one of his heroes." A conquest that lasted a summer," his uncle pointed out. "Your Boy King lost ten thousand men taking the place, and another fifty trying to hold it. Someone should have told him that war isn't a game." He took another sip of wine. "Also," he said, wiping his mouth, "Daeren Targaryen was only eighteen when he died. Or have you forgotten that part?" (AGOT, Jon I)
Young conquerors who get thousands killed and die young. Hello Robb. Hello..., well, let's not spoil anything else, I guess. His idealization is immediately reprimanded, for Jon the character and for the reader.
The second time, it's in direct contrast to the complex politics Jon-the-Lord-Commander is engaging in to balance out the interests of multiple dangerous parties so the maximum amount of human beings survive the winter and the Others, without killing each other - and secretly rescue his little sister on top of it.
When Jon had been a boy at Winterfell, his hero had been the Young Dragon, the boy king who had conquered Dorne at the age of fourteen. Despite his bastard birth, or perhaps because of it, Jon Snow had dreamed of leading men to glory just as King Daeron had, of growing up to be a conqueror. Now he was a man grown and the Wall was his, yet all he had were doubts. He could not even seem to conquer those. (ADWD, Jon VII)
The pivotal message here is that rulership is not that simple, not that glorious, not as banal as conquest. Jon is no longer a child hoping to compensate for his painful childhood with a power fantasy of being admired and adored for impressive feats of warfare. It's put into direct contrast with his actual challenges as a leader.
And wouldn't you know it, the moment Jon has a glamorous speech rallying men to march into war with him? That's the one moment GRRM chooses to undercut by immediately following it with his assassination. He will never ever depict war and battle as positive things, even with sympathetic characters. Even in defense, but especially related to conquest.
These things are not exactly subtle. GRRM is using Daeron and the way characters discuss him as a short-cut to criticising wars of conquest and those who glamorize them. Jon grows beyond that within the span of the books. His relationship with conquerors, especially in relation to the North, is bound to be conflicted.
So.. no, you're not seeing jonsas making a ton of posts about it. It's pretty clear-cut.

Rangers Apprentice Space AU
Ok, listen. I thought of a cyberpunk RA outer space AU earlier today. It was only a matter of time before I came up with a space au for RA since space aus tend to consume my thoughts.
Anyway, Araluen is an empire that spans a decent amount of interstellar territory. Not huge, but also not tiny, fairly average overall. All the other countries are other territories in the universe.
And, as always of course, Araluen is divided in a series of 50 sectors that are ruled over by the nobility. Each sector has one of the empire's 50 rangers assigned to it.
Rangers are essentially like they are in the series. The kingdom's special ops force that's really really good at what they do, and very good at sneaking around. They just have a bit more tech. The citizens of Araluen usually don't believe they're human, instead thinking they must be some kind of highly experimental android created by the crown to spy for them. It's the only way to really explain how good they are at fighting, vanishing, spying, hacking, everything. They're too good to be human, so they must be robots!
Of course, they're all humans (there are no aliens in this au). Rangers here use energy blasters instead of bows, and are crack shots no matter if they're using their close range pistols or long range sniper rifles. They also all carry small daggers made of experimental nanotechnology that can change form on a whim, letting them use daggers, saxe knives, and their strikers. Gilan has an even more experimental nanotech sword, and is one of the only people in the universe currently allowed to use it (he's helping test it out). His blade can shift between a few different types of swords so that he can use whatever he wants at that moment. Rangers also have a cloak woven with electronic fibers that allow them to disappear (not turn invisible but essentially an even better version of their mottled cloaks, one that can shift slightly to match how shadows change a little bit). They also all learn how to use technology and become fairly skilled, not the best in the universe but still pretty good, hackers so that if they're infiltrating somewhere they can always grab data. Each Ranger has their own custom ship with extremely fast warp drives and learns how to fly it even better than many competitive racers.
Morgarath used to be a member of the nobility and leader of his own sector, until he staged a rebellion a decade and a half ago. He used cybernetically enhanced forces (probably made up of some of his own people, some hired hands, and some abducted people. they would have a lot of the typical cyber enhancements that you see in cyberpunk media, such as weapons embedded into robot arms, eyes that can project things, enhanced ranges of motion, and increased strength/speed), and tried to fight against the king and his forces. The primary instrument of his defeat was the Ranger Halt, who managed to sneak behind enemy lines and implant a virus that infected the cybernetics the fighters had been implanted with. Morgarath was defeated and ended up being exiled to a planet in a very dangerous sector (haven't decided how it's dangerous yet), and no one is quite sure if he's still alive.
At one point in the war, Halt was cornered and nearly killed by some of Morgarath's soldiers, typically referred to as Wargals due to that being the model name of their implants. He is saved by a common soldier in Oswald's army, who dies defending him. Halt tracks down the man's wife and newborn son and fails to save the mother from death. So, Halt takes the child to the ward in Redmont Castle, the capital of the sector he's stationed in, and hands him over to Arald.
And the rest is history.
(I feel compelled to mention that in my mind, Halt lives on a planet that is pretty much uninhabited save for him, his cottage, his shipyard, and eventually his son apprentice. Also Gilan visits every chance he can and likes pulling stunts in his ship whenever he's with them to piss of Halt and show off to Will like the big bro he is)
(And when I say cyberpunk, I mean cyberpunk. Like, Halt leads Will on a recon mission in a futuristic glowing city with neon lights, they're driving around in spaceships (Halt has a mini copilot chair in his for Will until Will starts taking his own ship places), and Castle Redmont looks incredibly punk while Castle Araluen is very futuristic with a lot of curvy lines and such)
There is a very good chance I'll end up turning this into a oneshot series. Not a full AU because I don't have the time to do that, but some oneshots I could do! Probably.

>Climbs through window >Falls over
Hello Jungle Fury Fandom (all 10 of us) I come baring gifts of ramblings and headcanons!
Tumblr media
So I believe that the three stripes of Pai Zhua represent the three core traits that help with determining (partially) what makes a Pai Zhua Master (which also helps to explain why the trio jump to concluding that about themselves in Welcome to the Jungle Part 2, because this was in their teachings). - Casey is the Strength, an important trait in a leader. He's able to take hits for his teammates, he's able to get back up and keep going even when getting hardcore beat (he's the first to get up and unlock Jungle Master Mode in Ghost of a Chance Part 2, and also shakes off Stingerella's poison oddly well), and he has the strength to see his own desires come true (like being a Master and saving Jarrod). - Theo is the Brains, though I'd honestly more say he is both that and Courage. As much as he is greatly intelligent and skilled, a good planner and multi-tasker, a lot of his arc involves him needing to find courage to face his own flaws; Being able to accept defeat/failure, being able to focus on the present and his own self-worth, accepting that he can't be good at everything he does, and stepping out of his brother's shadow. - Lily is the heart, kind, empathetic, and grounded in her humanity. She's always looking out for the others and showing concern for their health and wellbeing, she (unknowingly) hears Camille out and gives them an outlet for their distress, and always does her best to see the good in people when she can. She wears her heart on her sleeve for the world to see and even when it gets hurt she doesn't stop having faith and compassion in her friends.
This is our trio who eventually were the Chosen Protectors, the Chosen Trio "who are the only ones that could defeat Dai Shi".
BUT!
I would like to make the argument that this trio can be completed by other characters.
I raise you: Casey, Camille, and Jarrod.
Tumblr media
Initially my brain went to this sort of "layout" for lack a better term. - Casey instead is now Brains/Courage. As the Red Ranger he's needed to think quickly and efficiently, come up with strategies, and take gambles he predicted would pay off. But alongside that intelligence he's also needed to be brave and have courage, most notably facing the monster in his closet as a child (which you can also read as him finding the courage to come out the closet), and finding the courage to chase after Jarrod and save him. - Jarrod is the Strength. Probably the obvious place to put him in this trio, he's the Lion, the strong one, the king of the jungle. Dai Shi chose him because he was powerful, and he proved he could be; Even before gaining any of his later powers while possessed, he defeated his opponent and was able to knock down Mao in Welcome to the Jungle Part 1. When it comes to his own metaphorical strength and self-resolve, the guy was able to eventually face his own demons, expel Dai Shi from his body, and fight back against him - He needed a support system to build up that strength, but he found it and found himself. - Camille is the Heart of the trio, again a bit of an obvious initial choice placement. While she can come off as cold to some, she always seeks for her feelings to be reciprocated by somebody, to love and to be loved. It was her who refused to give up on Jarrod first, and it was her who's love and dedication (first to Dai Shi, then to Jarrod) that allowed Jarrod to gain a foothold in getting out of Dai Shi's grasp. She was to him, above all else, loyal, doting, and compassionate, the only one beyond Lily she dared show her Heart to.
But then I realised, that these three can be swapped around and can fit all three of these core traits!

Jarrod remains the same in his position as Strength, while Casey and Camille can be swapped. - Casey needed to learn to love himself for a majority of the season, learn that he WAS a good leader, that he couldn't be replaced, and that he was his own strength - Ultimately, it was him listening to his heart that made him go after Jarrod, and him listening to and understanding Jarrod's own heart and what the man was going through when confronting Mao. - Camille meanwhile was the strategist of Dai Shi's people; She was the one who came up with nearly all the plans against the Rangers, even if they never properly succeeded. Hell, her own Animal Spirit trait is that she is "Cunning"; She's crafty, able to deceive and trick, and that takes intelligence (also she does the newspaper crossword, which is equal parts point proving and amusing, and the fact she can understand cloning and genetic engineering during Maryl and the Monkeys indicates she is highly intelligent). But Courage also applies to her as well, as she had to learn to be able to take a stand against her own side, the people who were very abusive to her, and leave a toxic environment to be with people who loved her. Plus, she chose the Phoenix Spirit as her Phantom General upgrade, and what did Casey himself call the Phoenix Spirit in Super Megaforce? Brave and Resilient.
Tumblr media
Another switch up I found worked was Casey remaining Strength and Camille remaining Brains/Courage, but Jarrod being the Heart. He is a man capable of a great amount of love and good morals; As a child he refused to cheat, he refused to fight back and break code, and he refused to let The Fishers lose their farm and did his best to help them. And though his heart became tainted enough to let Dai Shi in, he never lost it; Just as Camille reached out for Jarrod, Jarrod reached out for Camille, able to break through Dai Shi's stranglehold to be able to save her when she was going to be destroyed. Dai Shi always taunted and convinced Jarrod that he had the Strength, but not the Heart of a Lion, and Jarrod was able to prove him wrong and prove to be a noble and good man.
Tumblr media
Additionally, what about Camille being the Strength of the Trio? While she wasn't the strongest of the series, she proved to be a great force in her own right. She was always striving to be stronger, always striving to prove that she was capable, protecting Dai Shi from the likes of Naja; That eventually was REWARDED by Dai Shi by giving her the Phantom Beast General position. If she had been weak, she wouldn't have been his right-hand woman in the heirarchy of the temple to begin with, much less be able to reach General. And in terms of personal strength, she learned to find the strength to stand up for herself and make her own decisions, predominantly in trying to help Dai Shi by reviving Jellica on her own accord and standing up to the Overlord (she only caved when Jellica was directly hurting Dai Shi/Jarrod, her Heart's key weak spot), but more importantly when Dai Shi was siphoning Jarrod's power and hurting him, and Camille found the strength within herself to finally stand up to Dai Shi and follow her own path (to the point she absorbed and reflected an attack back AT Dai Shi in the final battle, more on that later).
Tumblr media
And then what about Jarrod as the Brains & Courage? When it comes to smarts, Jarrod & Dai Shi were always looking for ways to become one step ahead of whoever was opposing them: Using Naja's life talons to revive the Overlords, seeking out ways to master Zocato and then immediately remembering and seeking out the Rhino Nexus upon Master Mao saying just a word, creating a test for the Phantom Beast Generals to prove he wouldn't be backstabbed agan, and immediately knowing that Scorch was c ompletely bullshitting him when they said they didn't know where Camille was nor what happened to her (that is especially key for Jarrod). His Courage is partially tied to his metaphorical strength in how he fought off Dai Shi and eventually expelled the Spirit - Namely the fact that he had to find the Courage within himself to stand against him for a final time, and take the gamble that he trusted would pay off in weakening the Dragon and surviving.
It was never about just one trio of "Chosen Protectors". It was about two intertwined trios of Chosen Protectors, one able to make the cracks in the stone wall that the other could then take advantage of and destroy.
Tumblr media
If anything, though, I think there was never a definitive "Three Protectors". I think they ALL played a part in Dai Shi's defeat. It always confused me why 10,000 years ago they needed seven Masters (Mao, Guin, Lope, Rilla, Finn, Swoop, and Phant) to SEAL Dai Shi, and yet they needed only the Chosen Three Protectors/Masters to DESTROY Dai Shi forever??
But then I thought about it, and. It wasn't just Casey, Lily and Theo who destroyed him. They FINISHED him, but they didn't do everything. RJ and Dominic attacked in the Wolf Pride and Rhino Warrior Mode Megazords. Camille struck at him when Dai Shi went to attack Casey, Lily and Theo, absorbing and sending back his own power against him. And Jarrod launched himself at Dai Shi and blasted him with his full power from the inside.

Casey, Lily, Theo, RJ, Dominic, Camille, and Jarrod. Seven.
Tumblr media
Seven individuals with enough Heart, Strength, Brains, and Courage in their Spirit to vanquish the Dragon.
Feels poetic, in my opinion.

The snow was falling heavily, fluttering and blowing from left to right as it hurtled towards the ground, hardly possible to see more than a few feet through it; the ice crunching beneath your feet and giving way to slick, wet mud and clay that pulled at your boots and splattered up your legs.
Behind you, Aragorn was panting heavily, his cheeks and nose flushed with light, hazy pink as his knuckles slowly started to turn the same colour. He was struggling to keep up, as although he may have been a ranger, he was still just a mortal man and still had his limits.
You paused, smiling as you pulled him over to a nearby rock and gently sat him down, straddling his waist and gently kissing his forehead as you hummed softly. Aragorn sniffled, holding onto your thighs gently as he took a moment to catch his breath.
It may have been worth it, though. Behind you, he could see where the mountains reached the clouds so easily; snowy fingertips gently standing still as great grey and white balls of fluff gently blew past.
He could see where the trees stopped growing where it became too high for them, strips of green melting into harsh white and dark brown. It was a stunning sight, and he knew what this place meant to you.
Away from everything else, away from everyone else; he had often caught you reading up there in the summer months, when the skies were blue and daffodils littered the ground beneath his feet.
When the air was so much warmer than it was now; when there weren’t little flurries of snow embedded in his dark hair as he sniffled and cleared his throat, shaking his head in hopes that it would get rid of the ice running its fingertips up his back.
Desperate for the sensation to fade as he looked up at you with big blue eyes, able to feel his shoulders and fingertips shake as he wished that it would stop. He swallowed thickly, trying to rid himself of the cold hand around his throat.
“I could never have done this without you,” he told you honestly.
You shook your head, gently tracing his jaw as his short cut beard tickled your fingertips. “You can do anything, you know that better than anyone else.”
He hummed, shaking his head. He could never tell you about how much he doubted his capabilities; he was never meant to be a leader, he couldn’t do it.
Leadership was not in his veins in the slightest, and although he was protective and he would have laid down his life for the world he rejected, he still didn’t see what you saw. He could never see in himself the things that you did.
How brave he was, how wise and how intelligent he was; how just and fair he was, loyal and protective. Steady at hand and always prepared to offer a hand when it was asked of him.
You knew Aragorn so well, you knew when he was doubting himself, and as you gently cupped his cheek, trying not to laugh at the tickling sensation against the palm of your hand.
You couldn’t help but to smile at him, humming under your breath as your gaze dropped to his lips; for just a moment, you could hardly speak, but you soon cleared your throat, running a hand through his hair gently.
“You might not see yourself as a king,” you whispered. “But to me, that’s all you’ll ever be… I would follow you into the bloodiest of battles without question.”
“I know,” Aragorn replied quietly, “and that’s what scares me… I don’t want to lose you.”
“You won’t,” you told him gently. “You’re always so protective, you don’t need to be - you forget, I was a ranger, too.”
He frowned a little, knowing that he was the reason you had given that up; you were one of the best rangers he had ever met - a brilliant tracker, you could follow a single animal for miles without ever needing to double check.
Quiet and stealthy, you had always seemed to blend completely into the woodlands and the mountains; a brilliant hunter, you never needed anything more than your sword. It was shorter than most, the blade curved at the middle, giving it an appearance that could never be forgotten; two notches in the metal sat just above the hilt.
Aragorn would always know the sight of that sword, how it was similar in size to a large dagger but twice as deadly as any decent long sword.
You were so skilled with it, too, capable of hacking and slashing beast and plant alike when you had to; he could still remember when you had used it to extract sap from a tree for him, and smiled fondly.
But you had given up the life of a ranger, and Aragorn knew it was his own fault; he had prevented you from properly doing your job - he was too protective, and it had cost you everything.
Now you just lived on the outskirts of the Shire, close to him but not too much that you got in each other’s ways; you worked as a blacksmith, mostly. Forging shoes for horses and plenty of tools for gardeners. He hung his head, licking his lips as he sighed heavily.
“I would never ask you to follow me into battle,” Aragorn said quietly, searching for your hand before holding it tightly. “But I would ask that you let me follow where you go.”
You gave his hand a little squeeze, swallowing thickly as you nodded. “I’ll never go far. You know that. You’ll always be able to knock on my door… just… let me follow you, please. If you ever go anywhere, let me follow.”
His shoulders slumped as he fought back the urge to disagree; to tell you that he never wanted to lose you, he never wanted to know he failed at protecting you.
So he nodded slowly, but said nothing, even when the snowfall landed on the tip of his nose and made you grin as you gently wiped it off.
