My partner said that my FFXIV version of Basilio looks like he's a few years into a comfier life, and I like that. I like the idea that he's got his own place with a nice well-stocked kitchen where he can cook and bake, he's seeing a good doctor to manage his pain better, he's overall just living better than he was at the time of the game. That makes me really happy to think about, he deserves that <3

Metaphor Re Fantazio Sona- Irmgard Herzstein

Name: Irmgard Herzstein, some call her Irm or Irma.

Tribe: Ishkia

Archetype: Ranger- Hunter- Beastmaster- Chieftain

Location: Port Brilehaven

Irmgard is actually the cousin of Neuras... however while he stayed as the Royal engineer... she moved with her parents to Port Brilehaven... mostly cause Grand Trad as the capital just felt unfair to many... felt an uncomfortable place to live in... however eventually as they set up a small shop making inventions.... one day as Irmgard was around 17... her parents never returned... so she continued the Legacy herself... she noticed she could make use of her own artist skills too.. so she sold Maps and created most of the main maps for the country over traveling notes of her parents and talking to many travelers... Her daily life became taking care of the shop, calming people in the streets and going to the Taverns to wait the tables a little on the side.

In Port Brilehaven there will be an Eugief who will complain about the Map maker not returning yet even if they have a trip planned… so they ask you to get her from the Dungeon she was supposed to seek out… Arriving there in the Gauntlet runner you come into a dungeon that is crawling with Bandits but also soldiers who deserted their guard duty… its more build like a Crysalized cave and the bandits wanted to make profit out the stones… You meet Irmgard mid into the Dungeon, saying she is busy to make sure the Bandits don't destroy the infrastructure of the tunnel and make it collapse, so you help her to get to the leader… As you meet the leader she is furious… cause she encountered her before… several times… The Leader is a fine Lady who let Bandits work for her for profit… Irmgard did meet her in Brilehaven and already couldn't stand her… forcing Tribes lower to be her lifestock, trying to claim everything yours, even moreso now that the crown contest is going on… and Irmgard is passionate about letting her not doom the country and bring the tribes to be treated as equal…

Irmgard is seriously mad about the Bandits leader… how she thinks that she can just use others by pushing them down… she doesn't hold back to yell at her that she will do anything to make sure she doesn't become queen… but the Lady just laughs… what is a Little Ishkia like her… not even a threat… she Orders the other Bandits to take her out as Will and the others swoop in.. having her back cleaning one wave after another of Bandits but it doesn't stop… there is just a ton more and more and… she eventually tries to sacrefice the innocent tribe workers.. Bossfight with Bandit Lady goes that the civilians protect her and she is untouchable. A cutscene would happen where Strohl Blocks an attack ain't at Irmgard to protect her. She hates feeling powerless… that there is hardly a way to take the Lady out… untill a voice called out to her… She knew all along… she had enough being a pushover… she really does want to change the World even if in little ways… and now it's her time to have the Power to do so… and do she reaches into her chest and rips her heart out like the others awakening the Archetype and hitting an arrow right at rhe Bandit Lady, breaking her protection fully… now the fight is winnable… and after it she makes up her mind… to not hide in her little Shop but to take up weapons and fight for a better future… where other tribe arent excluded or used against their will.

Returning to the Entrance.. Neuras awaits them for the Gauntlet runner however is in shock who they found… his dear cousin… asking her what she was doing getting into danger like this… And she yelled at him why he didn't write her that he was here… she came back, finished her work and decided to stay.

Next on is spoilers to the Members joining the Team and Irmgards relationships to them as well as some others:

Will: She does fully support him being a king but also… feels that he does still have a lot to learn to be king… she is at his back and call to teach little things and does feel protective about him. Strohl: Obviously she has a huge crush on him since he tried to step in and protect her. Hearing how he lost his whole home made her feel more adamant about helping him rebuild it one day… and making use of her talents. She is still struggling on how to tell him she does feel romantically about him but…. she has a whole journey to figure that out, right? Till then she is just glad to assist him and draw him in secret. Hulkenberg: She has such high respect of her and see her as someone she strives to be like. Even if she does recognize some of her oddities and is at times lightly scared of her but… She does see her as a cherished friend who did make her stronger. Heismay: They had problems in her finding him cute and him didn't want to be head patted but… she did learn to respect him as well as did feel for all that happened to him…. currently they are more the ones to have serious talks and she does often ask him for advice during cooking… she sees him more as a wise superior now Junah: Has troubles really getting warm with her, not cause she is Nidia but because Junah knows Irmgard has a crush but only makes it worse for her trying to lure her feelings out… they are just quite opposites in some regards but.. she does like to hear her sing Eupha: Does respect her too but also… does try to help her understand the outside world more… Irmgard isn't fond of Sanctism so she still warn Eupha about other people wanting to influence her and is more protective. Basilio: She does feel also a little protective about him… he been through much, lost so much… She is there if he needs to talk or also tries to cook with him… they aren't that close but she does watch out

Loveless:

Loveless and Irmgard are old buddies… given many mistreated the Paripus she had an open ear to him and let him stay sleep off his ||drunk|| at times in her shop. And while he actually does have a crush on her a little and does hit on her occasionally.. she has zero interest and kinda hoped as the tournament for the throne roled around that she could help him have more reasonable goals to win, for equality so the paripus won't suffer but.. instead Catherina did that… while Loveless went on about bringing more Party to Euchronia that Irmgard said "I am sorry but if that is your campaign, you wont have my assistance."

He went to Grand trad to join… she continued her work and hoped given she heard people will come to town for the tournament that during the first challenge she will know who to cheer for.

Loveless still does like her a ton… even misses her tending to him after his parties so… as Milo manipulates him he is infuriated thinking Irmgard is made joining a guy who kill Eugief and Paripus when that never was the case… and she even gets to smack him telling him he lost sight of himself and should think on who to trust.

So overall he generally is still affectionate when he sees her but needs to notice she is taken eventually and move on. But they still do throw some darts when she is in Brilehaven to visit

Velia Furlan da Nicolaou (My Metaphor: Refantazio OC)

Image made with this picrew. It's not an exact likeness to what I have pictured in my head, but imagine the horns being a bit closer to the size you see on most Clemar in game (and that the long vines and headdress are supposed to be a flower crown that was put on their head for fun).

(I'm still pretty early in Metaphor so this is very much a WIP, but I'm already having a lot of fun with this OC.)

ANYWAY. Information below the cut because I tend to ramble ➡

Body Type: Short, looks more delicate than and wispy than she actually is.

Associated Archetype (s): The Witch (starting Archetype), The Watcher, and the Prophet (basically a theme of magic, observation, and foresight)

Family, Friends, and Loved Ones: Earl and Countess Furlan da Nicolaou (parents), Julian (eldest brother), Victorine (eldest sister), Gaius (older brother), Patricia (older sister), Cosette (older sister), Rosabella (younger sister), Lord and Lady Strohl da Haliaetus (Legal Guardians), Leon (childhood friend, legally betrothed)

Home: Nicolai (up to Age 7), Halia (Age 7 to mid teens), The estate of their sister Patricia and her husband (mid teens to just before the start of the game), Grand Trad (parents and her sister's family spend a significant time here and this they spent time here as well while living with them)

Background:

The childhood friend of Leon Strohl. Velia hails from a noble family of some importance and the sixth born of seven children. Their parents invested their time, love, and attention into their two eldest children, and then later their very youngest, tending to emotionally neglect the others.

While Velia's parents did the typical noble thing of making deals and alliances with more powerful nobles to attain more power, they found many benefits to allying with more obscure and rural nobility, especially when it came to growing their network of information. One such alliance they made with the family of Strohl, which included an arrangement of marriage between their children, Leon and Velia. However, House Furlan asked additional favor of House Strohl, that they take Velia into their house and raise her until she and Leon were of age to marry. In return, House Strohl received a considerable sum of money and much needed supplies for themselves and their village, Halia.

House Furlan made similar arrangements with their other middle children in order to better focus on the children they favored, with the exception of their second son Gaius, who went into the church.

Velia initially felt rejected and abandoned with first arriving in Halia. However, the child of seven was greeted by a kind Lord and Lady Strohl, as well as the amiable servants of the house.

Leon (who was five at the time) was not entirely too keen on the new resident his family took in, and so their initial interactions were rather standoffish and awkward at best and somewhat antagonistic at worst. Leon saw Velia as the latest example of his parents smiling and acquiescing to please the other nobles. (Which, admittedly, in this case, wasn't entirely wrong.)

However, things changed when Velia snuck out periodically to explore the natural landscape around Halia and investigate the town. Leon eventually followed Velia on their outings, and the two bonded over the adventures they had together on them, eventually coming to see one another in a new light.

Eventually, the two of them were able to interact amiably, and in time they became friends. In even more time still, they were the best of friends.

However, tragedy struck when the village of Halia was attacked by a terrible monster known as a Human. Help was sent for but never came. Lord and Lady Strohl gave their lives trying to evacuate the villagers and fight the monster. The servants ushered Leon and Velia to safety and thus they (and a good chunk of the servants) survived, but Halia was razed to the ground and the village was lost, as were the vast majority of the inhabitants.

Heartbroken and traumatized, Velia and Leon were forced to flee the smoldering ruins of their home, eventually taking refuge with the family of Velia's older sister Patricia and her husband*.

(* = I'm not very far in the game so I don't know if anything in canon contradicts this as far as what Leon did after he left Halia. May or may not adjust this later as I play the game more.)

Velia and Leon stayed together, bound by the horrors of what they faced and seeing each other not only as dear friends, but all they had left of the life that was ripped away from them. Their friendship has developed some unhealthy habits around the edges, another unfortunate byproduct of their shared trauma. But they have continued to be close, their friendship a lifeline to each other through the years.

Years later, Leon has left for Grand Trad to join the guard, and Velia is not far behind him, hoping to sign up for the healer core of the guard to assist the injured.

The protagonist can recruit them both as part of the same main story questline.

Personality: Polite, kind, graceful, and elegant, but has a quiet rebellious streak and a hidden penchant for holding a grudge. Velia loves nature (Plants, animals, bugs, you name it!) and people watching. She also holds an interest in magic.
