Are there proper ways to write characters spiraling into violent madness without going full Hollywood stereotype?
Thanks for asking! Here are some tips:
Research: Before writing about madness, research various mental health conditions and how they manifest. Understanding the nuances of conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or psychosis can help you portray the descent into madness more realistically.
Show the descent: Instead of suddenly plunging your character into madness, show a gradual decline. Start with subtle changes in behavior or thoughts that become increasingly erratic over time. This gradual progression will make the transformation feel more believable.
Internal conflict: Explore the internal struggles of your character as they grapple with their deteriorating mental state. Show the conflict between their rational mind and the irrational thoughts or impulses taking over. This can create empathy for the character and make their descent more compelling.
Symbolism: Use symbolism and metaphor to convey the character's mental state without being too literal. Show their inner turmoil through imagery, dreams, or hallucinations that reflect their psychological struggles.
Character complexity: Avoid portraying the character solely as a "madman" or "madwoman." Instead, develop them as complex individuals with hopes, fears, and motivations beyond their descent into madness—or that consume them and drive their descent. This will make them more relatable and humanise their struggle.
External triggers: Explore the external factors contributing to the character's descent into madness, such as trauma, stress, or societal pressures. These triggers can help contextualise their behavior and add depth to their storyline.
POV: Consider using multiple points of view to provide insight into how other characters perceive the protagonist's descent into madness. This can add layers to the narrative and highlight the impact of their actions on those around them.
Avoid clichés: Steer clear of clichéd tropes commonly associated with madness, such as talking to imaginary voices or engaging in random acts of violence for no apparent reason. Though these are symptoms for some, it can be helpful to focus on depicting the unique experiences and challenges faced by your character.
Humanise the consequences: Show the real-life consequences of the character's actions, both for themselves and those around them. This can include the emotional toll on loved ones, legal repercussions, or the character's own feelings of guilt and remorse.
Subjective narrative: If you're writing from the first person perspective, immerse the reader in the character's deteriorating mental state by crafting a subjective narrative that reflects their inner turmoil and warped perspective. Use vivid, sensory language to describe their experiences, conveying a sense of dazed confusion, spiraling thoughts, and disorientation. Make use of fragmented thoughts, disjointed imagery, and stream-of-consciousness techniques to create a narrative that feels almost like a fever dream, drawing readers into the character's unraveling psyche. By making the reader feel as if they are experiencing the madness firsthand, you can create a more immersive and impactful portrayal of the character's descent.
Hope this helped! Happy writing ❤

I really need to share this... THING I left as a YouTube comment
"[Warning - huge The Elder Scrolls cosmology rant that I SWEAR was just supposed to be a funny little joke at one point]
I kinda love the Dwemer as the Precursors trope bc, in lore, the fact that they tried to use the Heart of Lorkhan (aka Shezzar aka Shor aka maybe possibly Pelinal in his past life, the creator deity of the entire world more-or-less, depending on how you look at it) and subsequently just VANISHED is kind of insane. Like they didn't DIE, they didn't actually get TRANSPORTED anywhere, just straight up VANISHED. For real world terms it's like if the very energy that made up their bodies was just… gone. The one and only instance of energy being, for lack of a better word, destroyed. Can you imagine that? That's basically what happened to the Dwemer, and nobody really knows why - the gods didn't actually punish them, nobody really DID anything about them trying to use the Heart of Lorkhan, they just did and subsequently vanished. It's probably the greatest mystery in the whole of Mundus and how do most people react?
"Welp, the Dwemer did a silly and vanished. Who gives a shit, I'm out of Skooma / my son drinks milk / filthy n'wah keep showing up / any other random personal issue." Literally nobody, even the brainiest of brainiacs, gives half a shit. The only thing some people care about is what they can learn from Dwemer tech, and even THEN nobody's thinking about how they could use the automatons as free labor or how steam could revolutionize transportation or any of that shit, instead the only thing anyone ever cares about is typically some magic McGuffin which typically doesn't make any sense whatsoever as to why the Dwemer would even make it.
I mean, again, to reinforce this, every single living being is, to an extent, a divine spirit given form as offspring of the Ehlnofey, who in turn were the offspring of the Aedra (aka the gods), who in turn are sort of the result of Existance Itself (Anu) pondering itself, thus creating it's own Soul (Anuiel) which wished to define itself by defining its own limitations, creating Sithis, then they all fucking ponder themselves so hard they make the et'Ada, one of which was Lorkhan, and then depending on who you ask, Lorkhan either tricked the et'Ada to create the world by pondering their own deaths or by convincing them of the beauty of parenthood or similar. If we follow the "ponder own death" storyline, some of the et'Ada straight up die, others nope the fuck out when they see what's up (among them, most famously, Magnus) and the remaining ones either sacrifice themselves to stabilize the world, essentially BECOMING the physical world or concepts in the world, being now referred to as "World Bones", or refuse to give themselves fully to create the world, choosing instead to populate it with their offspring and becoming the Aedra (also before you ask the Daedra are either the et'Ada who COMPLETELY refused to give anything at all when the world was created but wanted to stick around anyway, reaping all the benefits to no cost to themselves or else are illusions dreamt up by the et'Ada who pondered their own death).
So, mortals are infinitely small fragments of the divine, the One that is Everything, so the Dwemer couldn't have just VANISHED vanished, since they SHOULD still be a part of Anu, but they are nonetheless completely fucking vanished anyway because fuck you. I'm saying they're so thoroughly GONE that NOBODY knows where the fuck they are. At least nobody up to and including the Aedra, the third fucking tier of divinity - we're probably, like, tier 20 AT BEST when we play as the Dragonborn, btw, and that's just bc we have the soul of a Dragon, thereby counting as a descendant of Akatosh, the first ever Aedra. Regular people are probably at like, tier one sjjgillion or something. And the Aedra still (assumedly) have not a clue. Literally the only more divine existences are Anuiel and Sithis in tier 2 and Anu in tier 1, being Literally The Sum Of Everything. Sithis more or less interacts with the physical world via the Dark Brotherhood, at least in the sense that his wife (where is she even from btw), the Night Mother, orders the Brotherhood to murk people for pretty much no reason than she said so and her will is the will of Sithis or whatever. Not relevant - what I mean to say with this is that, essentially, any active actor in the world CAN'T know where the Dwemer went bc then "nobody knows" would be false, so even tier 2 beings don't know. Literally only the Sum Of Everything In Existance, the fucking personification of Before The Big Bang, knows where they went, and THAT tier 1 being is, as far as we all know, purely theoretical in it's existence.
To repeat myself. LITERALLY. NOBODY. KNOWS. Where the Dwemer went. Not even Ultra God knows. Fucking God Squared doesn't know. Only Actually God But For Real This Time MAYBE knows, but we don't know that bc literally nobody can talk to it??? So. AGAIN. NOBODY KNOWS. And your common Nord is more concerned about whether you, a complete stranger, do or don't drink milk."

ok so i SWEAR you once mentioned that once chimera vivian returns back to normal, she'd be a bit different (if i am misremember something, um, sorry!!) — if so, what might those changes be, physical, mental, or otherwise? :0
HIII I DID!! i didint touch on it much bcus when i talked about it, it was in a "talking about series of events" fashion, and since it doesnt bother the storyline much at all, not much was said about it. buttttt i can ramble about it now so thank you!
i did a small doodle in this post, that kinda shows what she would look like afterwards. basically she just keeps the feathers! thats pretty much it, visual wise. she also gets a bit of a power boost, but its pretty insignificant. shes able to warm herself up easier after, too. but again, pretty insignificant. honestly, not much changes about her physically, as all traces of gloomtail are pretty much nonexistent anymore!
mentally? oh man. its hard to describe how she feels after its all over! she definitely keeps that confused mirage about her for a long while yet, but after being told that everything is fine again, she mellows out quite easily.
of course, once she hears of what she did, it does sort of click for her a little bit. she probably remembers fragments of what gloomtail had told her in her head while they were merged together, but of course since he isnt around anymore after she returns to normal, it fades pretty easily (especially because during the recovery period for her, theres alot of uhm. lets just say. not fun moments). its a shame, and she does feel guilty about it, as it felt pretty important, but the comfort of knowing that things are alright again (and that she Isnt killing random people every other minute) outweighs the guilt of not remembering significantly
and i feel like for awhile after, theres a large period of time where she tries her best to help out with the community more than usual just because the thought of murdering random people for awhile made her wanna hurl. heights also scare the shit out of her after too. sad irony </3
#she just tries her best but the guilt of it all just weighs her down for a large chunk of time#moments where shes apologizing alot for no reason. feeling uneasy and nauseous for no reason#she 100% feels guilty and responsible for the damage that the queen did while she was fused with gloomtail#“if i only was stronger .. if i just moved out of the way ..”#mumbling to herself and stuff. thinking theres a voice in her head from time to time#these are all mostly just symptoms of being guilty and anxious and confused for a good chunk of time afterwards#but it all eventually fades#having everyone else around to help her through her whole disoriented phase helps immensely#letter deliveries#link's lectures#chimera vivian#pm:ttyd

Random game idea
It would not be the first time I have ideas for video game that will clearly never come to life.
So here is the most recent one "Fable Realms" that would be a mobile game based on my fairytale (would be.... more like "could" be if I could make it ^^')
Would you play it if it was real? What would you add?
1. World Exploration and Discovery
Collect Fairy Tale Characters: Players could encounter characters from my tales as they explore real-world locations. Each location could be tied to a specific character or creature, with higher chances of meeting certain characters based on the location's attributes (like meeting Merline in a park, or Ineo by a lake).
Unlock Story Fragments: Each time a player meets a character, they unlock a new fragment of the character’s story or background. This could even be accompanied by illustrations, voiceovers, or interactive animations, giving them pieces of the tales as they progress.
Seasonal or Location-Based Encounters: Some characters or events might only be discoverable in specific weather conditions or seasons, similar to a festival or rare event in a magical world. For example, a player might meet Frosya in winter, or Corrania near a beach or body of water in the summer.
2. Interactive Character “Companions”
Build a Team of Characters: Instead of capturing or catching, players could "befriend" or "earn the trust" of each character by completing small challenges or answering questions that show understanding of the character's personality and world.
Level Up Friendships: As players interact with characters, they could increase their “friendship levels.” Higher friendship levels could unlock exclusive interactions or let players access specific storylines, animations, or abilities tied to that character.
Special Powers and Abilities: Each character could have a unique ability or blessing they grant the player. Peony, for instance, might give the players bonus to find hidden characters by bodies of water, while Cinnamon might highlight hidden locations in parks or woods.
3. Daily and Thematic Quests
Fairy Tale-Inspired Quests: Each day, players could receive a quest inspired by a particular tale. These could range from exploring certain types of locations to snapping photos of specific objects, which could serve as “tokens” for the characters. (picture of a water lily for Ineo, picture of a book for Taly...)
Event-Based Mini-Stories: Similar to story-driven events, each week or month, players could experience a mini cross-over adventure where they encounter a series of characters or creatures and have to solve a mystery or perform a series of tasks. For example, a drought-themed event might require players to “rescue” Ineo by visiting water sources.
Mystery Encounters: Some quests might involve following clues to solve puzzles or find hidden items. These mysteries could lead to rare character encounters or story segments not normally accessible.
4. Magical World-Building
Fantasy Realms Superimposed on the Real World: Players could unlock “realms” that overlay the real world, such as a Fairy clairing, a whole castle on irl ruins, or a lost cottage in a forest, each tied to themes and stories from the fairy tales. Visiting certain areas in the real world could “reveal” these realms in the game, allowing players to explore and interact with fantastical settings.
Build Your Own Fairytale Village: Players could use resources and items gathered from exploring to build a magical village or sanctuary. Characters they’ve befriended would live here and have some needs, like a house, certain type of decorations, giving players a sense of immersion in your fairy tale world.
5. Augmented Reality Interactions
Photograph Magical Creatures: Using AR, players could see and photograph creatures and characters in their surroundings. For example, pointing their phone at a fountain might reveal Ineo, or an AR character might “speak” to them as they explore.
Interactive Gestures and Items: Players might “gift” characters items they find in the real world, such as flowers, stones, or shells, by photographing these objects. These items could grant bonuses or unlock story content. Gesture-based interactions (like “casting a spell” by tracing symbols) could enhance immersion.
6. Lore and Storytelling System
Unlocking Talebooks: Players could “fill in” talebooks as they collect characters and story fragments, each book representing a different tale. Completing a talebook might reward players with unique visuals, short animations, or even the full written tale.
Storytelling Events and Campfire Chats: Occasionally, players might meet a “wandering storyteller” character who shares lore from your tales. These might be timed events where a character speaks about certain regions or creatures, giving players hints about upcoming encounters.
7. Cooperative Play and Community Features
Shared Events and Team Challenges: Players could team up with friends or nearby players to complete larger challenges, like defending a magical forest from encroaching darkness or restoring an enchanted river. Successful completion could grant special bonuses to all participating players.
8. In-Game Collectibles and Customization
Magic-Infused Collectibles: Players could collect magical items tied to characters or stories, such as enchanted jewels, potion ingredients, or fragments of mythical artifacts. These collectibles could be used for crafting items, potions, or charms that help in gameplay.
Character Costumes and Variants: Players might unlock special costumes or alternate forms for characters, inspired by different seasons or locations, adding a layer of customization. Imagine a summer look , an armor, or a desert style!
9. Seasonal and Holiday Events
Celebrations Based on Your World’s Lore: Just as Pokémon Go has themed events for real-world holidays, the game could feature lore-based celebrations tied to specific fairy tales. For instance, a "Festival of the Oasis" could celebrate Rahele, while a "Midsummer’s Fair" might involve Merline and other fairies, with floral decorations.
10. RPG-Style Duels and Group Battles
Player vs. Player (PvP) Duels: Players can challenge each other to friendly duels where they use their collected characters. Each character would have their own stats, abilities, and unique powers inspired by their fairy tale backgrounds. For example, a Ineo might have healing abilities, while a Whynhilda (the Enchantress) could summon vines for defense.
Character Levels and Skill Progression: Characters would gain experience and level up through exploration, quest completion, and successful duels. Higher levels unlock new abilities or buffs, making each character stronger over time. To encourage strong bonds, players with high friendship levels with a character could earn bonus points or abilities in battles. Players can also give special gifts and food to raise the characters level.
Team Strategy and Synergies: Players can form teams of characters with complementary abilities. For instance, combining a healer, a tank, and a damage-dealer could create a well-rounded team, or pairing up characters who share elemental affinities could grant synergy bonuses. Certain tales might involve characters who have a special bond or power boost when fighting alongside each other, like pairing two witches, two princesses, two villains, or characters from the same tale.
11. Multiplayer Raids and Cooperative Group Fights
Weekly Bosses and Cooperative Raids: Every week, there could be special boss encounters inspired by villains or dark forces from the fairy tales. Players team up with friends or nearby players to take down powerful foes. These bosses could have unique move sets and require coordination among players to defeat, with rewards like rare collectibles or special character fragments.
Realm-Wide Events: Occasionally, special events could bring about global challenges where all players can contribute to a shared goal. Imagine an event where the wind monster (The Sage of the Windy City) threatens the magical realms, and players around the world contribute by fighting creatures or completing quests to “weaken” it collectively.
12. Romance System
Romance with Canonically Single Characters: Players could unlock romance paths with characters that are canonically single, making these interactions rare and special. Romance would involve building a high friendship level first, completing character-specific quests, giving specific gifts, and perhaps winning certain duels together. As the bond grows, players might unlock unique dialogue options, story scenes, and even special abilities in battle.
Date Locations and Bonding Events: Once romance is unlocked, players could “visit” virtual places, like a magical grove or an enchanted lake, where they can interact with their chosen character/s. These scenes could include small mini-games or choices that deepen the relationship and occasionally grant temporary boosts, like increased stamina or higher XP gain for a set period.
Personalized Story Endings: Some characters could have personalized endings based on the player’s friendship or romance choices, giving players the satisfaction of a fairy tale “ending” with their favorite characters. These special stories could be unlocked as “epilogues” once the romance has reached its highest level.
13. Step Count Integration
Daily Step-Based Bonuses: Like Pikmin Bloom, this game could encourage physical activity by giving players in-game rewards for walking. Reaching certain step goals each day could reward players with experience points, currency, or energy points for battles.
Character Bonding Through Steps: Characters could walk alongside players (virtually, on the screen) and earn friendship points as players hit step goals. Certain milestones might trigger mini-dialogues where characters comment on the journey or share snippets of their backstory.
Step-Triggered Encounters and Events: Special encounters could be unlocked at step milestones. For example, after 5,000 steps, a player might meet a rare character, find a hidden treasure, or receive a powerful temporary buff for upcoming battles.
14. Character Training and Ability Customization
Training Mode: Characters could undergo “training sessions” as players walk, which would contribute to improving their stats, like attack power or defense, and unlocking special abilities. This would let players customize characters based on their desired strengths for battle.
Ability Upgrades Based on Friendship Level: As players increase their friendship with a character, they could unlock special abilities or “signature moves” unique to that character’s personality and story. For instance, a dragon character might get an ability called “Inferno’s Embrace” that deals more damage to ice-type foes, but only if their friendship level is high enough.
15. In-Game Collectibles, Rewards, and Customization Options
Unique Avatar : Players would have customizable avatars in-game, allowing them to personalize their look with various outfits, accessories, and themed items inspired by the fairy tales. As they progress, complete quests, and strengthen bonds with characters, they can unlock exclusive costume pieces, hairstyles, and accessories that reflect the unique styles and aesthetics of each story realm. These customizations would let players visually represent their journey and achievements, as well as show off their favorite characters and tales in a tangible way as they interact with others in the game world.
Avatar and Gear Customization: Players could earn items to customize their avatar’ appearance, like rare cloaks, enchanted jewelry, or seasonal costumes. These items could be both aesthetic and functional, with some offering battle buffs or bonuses.
Relics and Power-Ups: Players might collect relics—special items tied to each fairy tale’s lore—that enhance characters’ abilities or provide boosts in certain types of battles. A relic like “Oasis Gem” might enhance water-based abilities, for example, or “Feather of the Phoenix” could boost a character’s speed.
16. Event-Based Challenges and Rival Battles
Seasonal Tournaments: Occasionally, a global in-game tournament could allow players to pit their characters against each other in single-elimination rounds. Winners might receive unique rewards, such as exclusive items or rare relics, and have their names displayed on in-game leaderboards.
Rival Battles with NPCs: Certain powerful NPCs might challenge the player’s team, especially if the player is exploring a specific realm tied to that character. Defeating these rivals could unlock rare rewards, and occasional rematches with them would give players the chance to collect special lore or powerful items.
17. Romance Bonding Between Canon Couples
Official Couple Bonding Levels: Canon couples, like Victoire and Amanda from The Brave Princess, could have their own unique bonding progression. This "Couple Bonding Level" would increase through shared battles, cooperative quests, and special in-game events where the two characters are on the player’s team together. Of course the player need to have the two characters.
Exclusive Couple Abilities: As the Couple Bonding Level increases, players would unlock special abilities that only activate when both characters are in the same team. For example, Victoire and Amanda could have a powerful “Duo Strike” ability, or a “Protector’s Shield” that boosts defense for the entire team.
Romantic Moments and Events: Periodically, players might trigger mini cut-scenes or dialogues between canon couples, which would let players explore their relationship more deeply. These moments could reveal story details, or even temporarily boost the characters’ stats or stamina.
18. Family Bonds and Interactions
Family Bond Levels: Family members could also have a special “Family Bond Level” that reflects the strength of their relationship. Players could earn points toward these bonds by having family members on the same team, or by completing family-specific quests. For example, if a character has a sibling or parent, pairing them up would build their bond level.
Family-Exclusive Abilities: As the Family Bond Level increases, players could unlock abilities exclusive to family groups. For example, if siblings are fighting together, they might have a “Sibling Synergy” boost that increases their speed or attack power. If a parent and child are on the team, there could be a “Guardian’s Blessing” that increases defense.
Unique Family Interactions and Story Scenes: Occasionally, family members could trigger unique dialogues where they reminisce, tease each other, or even reveal background lore and secrets from their shared past. These interactions would feel rewarding, as they deepen players’ understanding of the characters’ lives and relationships.
19. Relationship-Based Bonuses in Combat
Dual Attack Skills and Combo Moves: Canon couples and family members could unlock dual attack skills or combo moves once their bond level reaches a certain point. These moves would be more powerful than standard attacks and could have special effects, such as area damage or healing buffs.
Romance or Family Boosts in Battle: When a canon couple or family members are on the team, they could grant passive boosts to each other or to the whole team. For instance, couples might provide an “Inspire” boost, which increases each other’s critical hit chance, while family members might grant an “Enduring Bond” boost that increases resistance to certain types of attacks.
20. Story Arcs and Alternate Epilogues
Alternate Epilogues for Canon Couples: When a couple’s bond reaches its peak, players might unlock a special “epilogue” that dives deeper into their relationship or shows their “happily ever after.”
Expanded Story Arcs for Families: Reaching high Family Bond Levels could unlock exclusive story content about the family’s shared history or a unique legacy questline that reflects the family's values or challenges.
21. Step-Triggered Bonding Events for Couples and Families
Bonus Friendship Points from Steps: When players have canon couples or family members in their active team, they could earn bonus friendship points based on steps taken, symbolizing shared adventures. The closer these characters become, the stronger the bonuses they provide.

Any new Jasico ideas? I've reread your works, and the craving for new stories is real.
i don't know if my random babblings count as "works" but i'll scrape together some fragments from hollering in the jasico server just for you
there was chatter about jason latching onto nico when he first shows up in camp jupiter pre-HoO because he's so fascinated by nico's whole deal, like wow another kid of the big 3 who isn't tied to camp?? this guy just goes wherever he wants and actually interacts with his godly parent regularly???
and i just wanna see a complete AU starting from there, ditch the HoO storyline entirely and do something new (without jason memory loss for once lol)
nico ollies out to go back to camp halfblood in an attempt to settle things on that end, which of course only seems more suspicious to the romans, but jason is Invested and also doesn't want a war and in all the chaos he ditches camp jupiter to chase after nico

Hello Autumn! I love your stories! You’ve inspired me to make my OC WoL to write about. The thing is I don’t know where to start? Any tips or advice you could give that could help me get started? Thank you so much!
whoop, meant to post this one earlier and got distracted! But hey; maintenance day.
I found prompt lists are a good place to start; there's all sorts of character ones out there, some for WoL and some generic ones. Even if your answers changes as you write the character, they're handy for noodling out some ideas to get started thinking about who they are and why.
Otherwise, take a look at MSQ itself. Maybe play through it, first time or in New Game+ and take some notes; how does the character feel about this, and why? Not you the player; what about your rough idea of the character's background and personality would make them react to X event or Y person? How? Why? Some will be influenced by your own knowledge of the meta and plot, but there's a lot we can glean by seeing the story as the character experiences those events.
And then we can write about it later.
We all put a bit of ourselves into our characters, we can't really help that; they are reflections of our thoughts and experiences, even when quite different from us. A "successful" OC, In My Opinion, is one that you start to realize would do or say things you never initially intended, but it's the right course of action for them.
I've spoken on this before, that trusting our own character creation, how we determine some things about the character at the outset, even subconsciously, can and will have an impact. And sometimes we just have to trust ourselves and see where that unexpected thread leads.
*stares down thousands of words, hundreds of screenshots, and a handful of art commissions, over 5 years for a ship she never meant to write to begin with*
And it's not set in stone! You might change something, find some things work better later after all, retcon a few things, follow a random thread only to find it doesn't work out...and that's OK. Don't be afraid to experiment. This is all for fun!
Also don't try to determine every detail at the beginning; it's a way to box yourself in, or an excuse to not get started in the first place. I knew on chargen that Aeryn's bio dad was a Coerthan farmer who died in a lead-up attack to Ferndale; I didn't know anything else, not even his name, for years, until a random idea from a random prompts got me. I sat on it for a while, and then eventually followed the thread into the Avengret storyline. We also didn't have Thavnair until EW, so I left a lot of things about Aeryn's family vague and purposefully off to the side of the "mainland Thavnair culture" to give myself some breathing room, and it's worked out decently.
The game's always updating, changing, and evolving; give yourself the same space the game writers do themselves, and determine if new info makes you want to retcon something or work your own lore in alongside updates; flexibility is key, and characters can be wrong, misinformed, lying, or altered by events and people they meet.
Anyway; these are a few things I work with. I think some of the earliest things in my blog you'll find for any of my characters are some short prompt responses before I started writing and posting stories involving them (and some of those answers have changed over time as I grew more certain of who they were--or they changed!). I have notes from ShB and EW MSQ--some just sentence fragments, some short scene or dialogue ideas--to get how Aeryn reacted to MSQ events and interacting with people. Most of them never end up in stories, but they're important as they let me noodle out how to write about those events.
Hope this helps! And here's to seeing your WoL join the fray. 😘

ATEEZ Theory Tidbits Episode 14: HALATEEZ? TREASURETEEZ? THE WORLDTEEZ? FEVERTEEZ?
Aka, Casper struggling with the ATEEZ storyline.
You know, I like to say that TXT’s storyline has DID. And if TXT’s storyline has DID, ATEEZ themselves have DID. Although they were introduced to us in very normal terms through TREASURE, the arrival of Zero to One and HALA HALA changed that - there was an alternate version of ATEEZ, likely from a different universe/timeline, who seemed able to possess the original members. They were darker, self-destructive, and more than likely traumatised. When they appear, ‘original’ ATEEZ describe feeling like they’re going to explode, or fire imagery. And also going crazy.
And then FEVER happened. And we all thought that they were HALAteez, as they had been dubbed. But then there were suggestions that they weren’t. And then the same thing happened again with THE WORLD. So what in the name of Namjesus is going on? Only Hongjoong knows. And let’s be honest, even the people who seem sure of their interpretations of the storyline are probably completely wrong. Because ATEEZ are like that. And I’m not here to be certain about the storyline. I’m here to stare reaaaaaally hard at Hongjoong’s armband and talk about media history and the random things that noone else talks about. And that’s okay.
So, let’s talk about the four current versions of ATEEZ - who the hell are they? What are they about? Are there four versions? More? Who is HALAteez? Does HALAteez even exist? And what do I wish was the case?
All of that is below the line.
What I wish would happen
You know how in the Diary Film, they talked about the universe splitting in 8? I would absolutely love it (and think it would be interesting and poetic) if there were 8 versions of ATEEZ, one for each member/fragment of the universe. So, who is which one?
Well, to be honest I don’t know. The only one I would put down for certain is HALATEEZ being from Hongjoong’s section - they are what we all generally consider the actual original version of ATEEZ, thus it makes sense that they are the product of the Captain. They’re also the traumatised ones - remember ‘Precious,’ which most people consider the HALAteez version of ‘Treasure,’ where Hongjoong is left alone with the Treasure, the rest of the members dead. I mean, I could potentially go on. But I feel like it’s a natural conclusion to come to. Especially since HALAteez seem to communicate with Hongjoong the most, Hongjoong is the one who understands what’s going on in the storyline, and I am a big fan of the insane Hongjoong messing up the universe theory.
As far as the other ones?
I like FEVER as Yeosang - he’s the one who is arguably the main character of the segment - a contender for the author of ‘Dear Diary,’ and with a continued story throughout the series, from INCEPTION to Deja Vu, The Real, and Turbulence. Not to mention how he was highlighted in that era - got a lot of ending fairies and centre time in ending poses.
TREASURE - I’m thinking Yunho, Mingi or Jongho - Jongho is the maknae and thus by default is considered more innocent than the others. TREASURE is the era where the group is new to the world - thus why it is the era we were introduced to them in. They are discovering things like the Guardians, HALAteez, other universes, and more. Jongho by default would match this description. But I like more evidence than just age. And if I had to pick someone else, it would probably be Yunho or even Mingi. Both Yunho and Mingi have roles in the storyline based on directing the other members towards their goal - while YUnho is ‘pointing’, Mingi is the one who keeps the pace. TREASURE was about travelling a lot, both literally and metaphorically, and they are the members who best represent this. There could be arguments for either, although, with how hard Mingi was pushed as a rapper and an intimidating, cool member, and how he had centre parts in songs like ‘WAVE,’ he probably has more evidence in his favour.
THE WORLD - well, I’m feeling a pretty solid Seonghwa. We were introduced to THE WORLD after the end of FEVER through the transitional single ‘Don’t Stop,’ which showed Seonghwa leading the group in Hongjoong’s absence. Although we haven’t had much THE WORLD era content, Seonghwa has been highlighted in the storyline - both in ‘Guerrilla’ and ‘Halazia’ through the styling and cinematography. He literally starts ‘Halazia’ with Hongjoong and gets multiple killing points in the choreographies of both songs, including directing the group in ‘Halazia,’ and being the one in the MV to get arguably the coolest and most memorable set. Not to mention he’s the one who has the Jesus allegory - a literal leader and saviour? Sure, ‘Halazia’ and the Spin off album aren’t an actual part of THE WORLD - that’s why it’s a spin off. But I would consider it a peripheral part of the THE WORLD era, the same was I would consider Don’t Stop the bridge between FEVER and THE WORLD, and ‘Dreamers’ part of FEVER. So yes, we have indeed been seeing a lot of First Mate Hwa lately.
Interesting things about the above;
This would also suggest that Yeosang and Yunho’s dimensions are connected, as Hongjoong has said that FEVER and TREASURE are in the same universe. Although goodness knows where he/KQ are going with that.
Hongjoong says we only have less than half of the storyline released, so this fits the idea that there will be 8 versions of ATEEZ, one for each member. First, we know that the number 8 is hugely important to the group. It is also highly likely that each album series follows a different version of the group, so makes sense that we’ve seen four of eight, and thus a bit less than half of the storyline.
And now that I’ve looked through all of this and come up with Hongjoong, Yeosang, Yunho, and Seonghwa as potential candidates, I wonder - if they are going in rough age order?
I mean, goodness knows where ATEEZ are actually going with their storyline, but it’s interesting to look at.
So, what do we know about each of the groups so far?
TREASURETEEZ
Aka what most of us consider the ‘original’ ATEEZ, although they probably aren’t, chronologically.
Introduced in; ‘Pirate King’ and ‘Treasure.’
Key tracks; ‘Intro: Long Journey,’ ‘Outro: Long Journey,’ ‘WAVE,’ ‘Say My Name,’ ‘WONDERLAND,’ ‘ILLUSION,’ ‘UTOPIA,’ Answer,’ ‘Treasure,’ etc.
Characteristics; Sand, the flying pirate ship, friendship, the phases of the moon, dreams and illusions, utopia, time travel, phases of the moon, water and fire, wonderland, Peter Pan/Alice in Wonderland/other classics, the Treasure, good vs evil, names and ATINY etc.
Summary; It’s ‘Pirates of the Carribean’ but mixed with both fairy tales and old, deeply disturbing, Gothic media. Pretty much summarises ATEEZ’s storyline as a whole.
TREASURETEEZ are, as I said, what most people consider the ‘original,’ since they were the version of the group we were introduced to first. But that’s the only reason. Actually, in the storyline, it seems that TREASURETEEZ come in only in the middle, or towards the end. They seem more ‘bland’ than the other versions, mostly out of necessity of introducing the fandom slowly to the complexities of ATEEZ’s storyline. But they do have their own unique aspects. For instance - the flying pirate ship, which has only been seen in ‘Don’t Stop’ since the TREASURE era. Or the idea of the search for the Treasure, which has been an underlying theme of the whole story, but which was especially key to TREASURETEEZ. Additionally, their concepts of travelling (shown through the many locations of their MVs), fantasy, and utopia/illusions/dreams, while important to the other groups, were far more heavily emphasised for TREASURETEEZ. Partially due to their originality and being the first, they remain super iconic and laid the groundwork for the other groups to follow. But honestly, we haven’t really heard from them in at least a year, so it’s interesting but also kind of sad to think about them now...
HALATEEZ
Introduced in; ‘HALA HALA.’
Main/key songs; arguable, but I would say ‘Desire,’ ‘From,’ ‘Precious,’ ‘HALA HALA,’ and ‘Answer: Ode to Joy.’
Actual name: Suicide Squad
Characteristics: Black pirates, the fedoras, chains etc (the Gothic pirate outfit that is mandatory ATEEZ concert atire), masks, gloves, the box, conflict with the Guardians, showing up and helping the other versions of ATEEZ, explosions, fire, insanity, self-destruction and harm, the Cromer, illusions and dreams, chaos and imprisonment, etc
Summary: They are literally Mr Hyde, but... weirder.
HALATEEZ, as they have been (incorrectly) dubbed were introduced as Jekyll-and-Hyde-type villains for TREASURETEEZ in their second comeback. They showed up randomly, seemingly caused a whole bunch of conflict and killed some people, and skedaddled again. We saw glimpses of them in ‘ILLUSION’ and ‘WONDERLAND,’ in different forms, and they returned in full in ‘Answer’ to seemingly make a truce with TREASURETEEZ and to help them fight the Guardians. Since then, we have seen them in all ATEEZ eras and in most albums/releases, especially alongside the Guardians. They are mentioned continually in the Diary entries and have appeared in other media like the FEVER eXtended edition and the Diary Film. In FEVER, we see them a few times, mostly in ‘Deja Vu,’ as the Guardians also seem to be chasing versions of ATEEZ across time and space (cue Dr Who theme). They even show up in THE WORLD, both being mentioned as a kay aspect of the world but also being characterised as some long-gone Jesus-type saviours who have literal shrines in their honour, and where the ATEEZ of THE WORLD are turning into a new version of the Black Pirates on their journey to free the world from oppression.
They have also been seen helping every different version of ATEEZ - KINGDOM was a great way for them to demonstrate this - we saw HALATEEZ helping the ATEEZ in WONDERLAND, Awakening of Summer, and Answer: Ode to Joy, where they sacrificed themselves to help that version of ATEEZ (possibly FEVERTEEZ???) defeat the Guardians.
So, it’s a pretty easy conclusion to come to to say that HALATEEZ are arguably the most important version of ATEEZ - another reason to associate them with Hongjoong.
FEVERTEEZ
Introduced in; INCEPTION
Main/key tracks; ‘Dear Diary,’ ‘INCEPTION,’ ‘THANXX,’ ‘Deja Vu,’ ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ ‘Turbulence,’ ‘The Real,’ etc
Characteristics; boyhood, dystopia, coming of age, grunge, graffiti, day of the dead imagery, fire and water, dreams, memory loss, inspiration from movies, mad max (maybe maybe not), gloves, etc
Summary; Everyone is sad, especially Yeosang, and the world may or may not be real.
FEVER was an interesting era. I’m still not entirely sure how or why we decided it, but we collectively, as a fandom, decided that FEVER is a prequel to TREASURE. I think a lot of this came from the Diary Film, which shows the origin of the members in their world, and shows Hongjoong being given the Cromer - since the group have the Cromer in TREASURE, them being given it would obvously come before. It also came with the idea that FEVERTEEZ were HALATEEZ - this is also an obvious conclusion - ‘fever’ was a word often used to describe the feeling the members had when they were being taken over by HALATEEZ, and FEVERTEEZ and HALATEEZ have many common themes, such as dystopia, 1984 inspirations, associations with fire, using gloves and masks, etc etc. But looking at the storyline as it is now, I don’t think this is the case. For starters, HALATEEZ (mostly Hongjoong) actually show up in FEVER - which either suggests time travel (admittedly a key part of the storyline), or that they are different people. It’s more of a ‘ohh look at Hongjoong being the subtle villain of the story’ than it is a circular section of a cyclical storyline. I think we as a fandom have perhaps just gone a little far with how nonlinear ATEEZ’s storyline is. To be fair, I may be completely wrong, but we can at least agree that the storyline is so nonlinear that ATINY have gone a bit crazy and just run with it.
But, removing FEVERTEEZ from HALATEEZ, what do we know about them? They seem to live in a semi-dystopian world (like the world of THE WORLD, but less drastic), and have a big concept of rebelling against society. Their storyline is explicitly inspired by a host of Korean, English, and American movies, such as Inception and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Their view of their world seems to become more sober/less idealistic over time, going from relatively normal but a tiny bit off in INCEPTION and THANXX, to on fire in Fireworks, to a 1984-espque world in ‘Deja Vu’ and a tragic loss of self in ‘Turbulence.’ This connects to the dream state that they experience, which, speaking of - the duality of water and fire is associated with this - water as a symbol of the dream state and fire as the real world. This can be applied to the rest of the storyline, as we know the group is in a dream in ‘WAVE,’ where we see a lot of water, but in WONDERLAND and Don’t Stop, where they are awake, we see fire. This also further connects to utopia, as utopia is associated with water, but water for ATEEZ is a dream, just as the utopia isn’t real. Whereas fire is hellish and chaotic, but also associated here with the real world - showing the actual, horrific nature of the world they live in.
However, FEVER era also introduced the Diary versions of the albums, which, interestingly, seemingly discuss the world of THE WORLD. The fact that they are associated with FEVERTEEZ through the virtue of literally being part of their albums suggests that the ATEEZ of THE WORLD and FEVERTEEZ are the same - they even have the same hideout and same events of the Guardians invading the hideout. But Hongjoong also says that these two albums come from different universes, which suggests that they are different groups... so why did the FEVER albums discuss the events of THE WORLD? What is going on? Are they parallels of each other but in slightly different versions of reality where THE WORLD has gone even further into the 1984 world?
Anyway, until we have more content of THE WORLD and I have done a more thorough analysis of the Diaries, we can only really assume that they are separate but similar groups, and that, by virtue of contributing mostly to the following era, FEVER is a very interesting but generally lower quantity of contribution to the storyline.
THE WORLD...TEEZ?
Omg I hate calling them THE WORLDTEEZ. Can we call them 1984-teez or something?
Introduced in; arguable - ‘Don’t Stop,’ ‘Awakening of Summer,’ or ‘Guerrilla,’ depending on your opinion of the storyline.
Key tracks; Awakening of Summer, Guerrilla, Sector 1, Propaganda, Halazia (maybe) etc
Characteristics; Literally 1984, human rights, oppression, suppression and rebellion, technology, human nature, etc
Summary; I don’t think they can be described in a better way than ‘literally 1984.’
The most recent version of ATEEZ to be revealed. They exist in a world where the government has decided that the best way to develop humanity further is to get rid of all emotions, art, and music. There is still some legend of the Black Pirates, who literally have a shrine to them. Anyway, let’s just say that. although we don’t know a huge amount yet, we do know that ATEEZ are fighting against the loss of creativity in this world and may or may not be pushing for a world of anarchy. This is also a world that may or may not be the origin of the Guardians, but is certainly one they are present in.
Conclusions
So what the hell is going on? We as a fandom seem obsessed with HALATEEZ. Every time a new album series comes out, we seem obsessed with the idea of them being HALATEEZ - Treasureteez clearly just had DID. But then FEVERTEEZ clearly WERE HALATEEZ. But wait, the ATEEZ from THE WORLD have more similar concepts and worlds to HALATEEZ than the other previous versions. So, it must be them.... right?
Well, yes and no. Because I am indeed, firmly of the opinion that HALATEEZ are the main characters of the storyline, yet will only ever remain in the background. We saw this especially on KINGDOM - the members of HALATEEZ were seen helping the other versions of ATEEZ but were never the centre of attention.
So, what’s even the point? Why am I bothering running this blog? What is life, death, why do we even exist?
I guess we just have to wait and see. This is less of a theory post than laying out the facts that we have - although, as expected with ATEEZ, these details are all up to interpretation. But I do think I have a decent case for the 8 universes-8 versions of ATEEZ theory (although the circular reasoning of it being based on my own pet theories may be a bit dodgy).

Pulp Fiction (1994): A Masterpiece of Non-Linear Storytelling
Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction is one of the most influential films in modern cinema, celebrated not only for its razor-sharp dialogue and unforgettable characters but also for its innovative narrative structure. Released in 1994, Pulp Fiction became an instant classic, earning both critical acclaim and box office success. What sets this film apart from others is its non-linear storytelling, a technique that challenges traditional filmmaking conventions and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
The Non-Linear Structure of Pulp Fiction
At the heart of Pulp Fiction is its unique narrative structure. Rather than presenting the story in a traditional, linear format, the film weaves together multiple storylines that are told out of chronological order. The result is a film that feels both fragmented and cohesive, with each story contributing to the overarching theme of chance, fate, and redemption.
The film opens with a scene in a diner featuring Pumpkin and Honey Bunny, two robbers who engage in a tense conversation. However, this scene is placed at the very beginning of the film and doesn’t actually follow the storyline of the characters introduced later. As the film unfolds, we move through different storylines—each told in a non-linear sequence, jumping between the lives of hitmen Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield, mob boss Marsellus Wallace, and a host of other unforgettable characters.
By telling the stories out of order, Tarantino forces the audience to engage with the film in a way that is both intellectually stimulating and entertaining. It also keeps the viewers guessing, as they must piece together the timeline and relationships between the characters. One of the most fascinating aspects of the film is how the events that appear to be unrelated at first gradually connect as the movie progresses, revealing deeper connections and resonating themes.
Themes of Fate and Redemption
The non-linear narrative in Pulp Fiction is not just a stylistic choice—it enhances the film’s central themes. The characters in the film are often at the mercy of fate, and their actions and decisions seem to come full circle in unexpected ways. Vincent and Jules, for example, are hitmen who navigate the chaotic underworld of Los Angeles, yet they are forced to confront their own morality throughout the film. The film’s fragmented structure mirrors the randomness and unpredictability of life itself.
Jules, played by Samuel L. Jackson, has one of the most iconic character arcs in film history. In one of the movie’s pivotal moments, he has a profound epiphany about his life, leading him to reconsider his path. This theme of redemption is echoed throughout the film, particularly in the way each character grapples with their choices. The non-linear timeline heightens the significance of these moments, making each scene feel more impactful when it eventually aligns with the larger narrative.
Tarantino’s Dialogue and Characters
Another standout feature of Pulp Fiction is its sharp, witty dialogue. Tarantino’s trademark style is evident in every line of the film, with characters engaging in long, philosophical conversations about everything from fast food to foot massages. The non-linear structure allows these dialogues to take on a greater significance, as they often foreshadow future events or provide insight into the character's motivations.
Take, for example, the famous "Ezekiel 25:17" speech delivered by Jules before executing someone. This speech, repeated throughout the film, becomes symbolic of Jules' moral journey. By placing these moments out of order, Tarantino allows them to resonate in different contexts, leading to greater thematic depth.
The film's characters are also iconic, from John Travolta's Vincent Vega to Uma Thurman's Mia Wallace. Each character feels fully realized and contributes to the film’s complex web of interconnected stories. Tarantino's ability to make each character memorable, even when they only appear briefly, is a testament to his skill as a writer and director.
Impact on Cinema and Popular Culture
Pulp Fiction didn’t just change the way films were made—it reshaped popular culture. Its non-linear storytelling and bold use of dialogue influenced countless filmmakers, and the film's style has been imitated and parodied in various ways. The film’s success also helped to bring independent cinema into the mainstream, showing that innovative storytelling could be both critically and commercially successful.
The film's influence extends beyond cinema into television, music, and fashion, with quotes from the film becoming part of everyday language. The iconic image of Vincent and Mia dancing at Jack Rabbit Slim’s has been recreated and referenced in numerous films and TV shows. The film's distinct blend of dark humor, violence, and pop culture references continues to resonate with audiences to this day.

Quake 2 – 3,2,1 countdown and up to generator of a black hole
And I continue my summer walkthrough summer, my summer walk in second Quake. From time to time, as a time break, pause, relax. And I, already, solve the reactor moment. Lots of things – I was doing for this. To stop cooler. And next to run different maps and push the buttons. Something to do with water. And, only, after that reactor was destroyed. Of course, it was about very different maps. And different number of enemies. Action is in continue.
Interesting new moment in game. You run to final computer. And only after that, you get to know, it is final step. And you push the button. And now you need to run fast. And it is start countdown. And you need to run to the very start point of the map. It is not far. But it is winding road, it not straight. There are turns, corridors. I think, about with attempt number ten I do it. And I need to remember a way. To experiment. It is a big gun location. I think so, as I remember that right now. Some nearby storylines segments. It was very exciting.
In Quake, there are such short sequences, short briefings. So, it is everything so computerized, as in action movie. So, reactor is done. Big gun is destroyed. Saying more correct, it was something like rocket attack or artillery ride, something like that it was in a storyline. So, when you play for the first time, you are very surprised. And after first walkthrough, when you are doing one more walkthrough, you are already can pay more attention to the details, so it still interest point to play again. At first, it is simple – surprise point. And just pass the stage. To get to know what to do.
So, I remember a place, when you are in something like mission impossible – and you need to run with time counter back, it was cool! I remember that. Adventure!
So, one more interesting moment. Near the something black colored and with form like bee hive pillar. Some reactor, maybe it was. It was a lava there. And such a small bridge. It was broken and you go by it. And later you see two computers at the edge. And you need to jump from little bridge to that computer’s small places. One by one to turn them on. Such moment – it is, already, a fragment from style game like Half Life.
By the way, grenade launcher, of course, it is slow thing, but this thing has some feature. If to hit enemy straight, then explosion is immediately. So, this way it should to be used. Or to throw grenades behind the corner. You see enemy - he is slow. You are doing fast back. And shoot behind the corner with grenade launcher. So, this way it works good.
Yes, such a funny moment. In one room, I shoot with rocket launcher. I cannot to hit enemies. They do some move all the time, and move to a different sides. And so, I hit some computer. And it was a secret. I got a message – you find a secret! It was a random thing for me.
Interesting visual style has a second Quake. It is such from the era of appearing a three dimension graphics. Age of rising three dimensional accelerators for graphics. Everything is such rounded or like squares, it depends from design level. Some special colors, and some smooth effect for textures. Part of textures - it is just like a color, it is stretched to all the wall. Somewhere textures are more detailed, some arts or drawing you can see, even. Smooth, it is a point, that makes a surprise even today. Part of stylization.
So, there is someway like this, here you have a shotgun, and rocket launcher, rail gun. They have such a circle, rounded forms. It is more often to see. For example. And in some things - it is opposite - a square form. In level design. Explosions are such rectangles style here.
Interesting such action movie. I need to go to hangar. And to destroy a black hole generator. So, not to deactivate it. And certain way to do - destroy it. And, by the way, I find a new enemy on some levels. They are such funny visual rust industrial view robots with green power field. You shoot at them. And it reacts as a bright green shield field. You better to shoot at his legs with something like rockets or grenades. In this case, not from a first attempts, but his shield is breaking. They have a funny visual.
Design, here again, it is, already, like a computer base. So, there are here generators of power field. You need to deactivate them. To run a different maps. To push some buttons at the computers. And, after that to go back to a room with such a dark green computer big thing. And go to a little door. Where before it was a power field.
Playing little games. From time to time i like to play videogames. And write about it. Dima Link is making retro videogames, apps, a little of music, write stories, and some retro more.

Oh, the Doctor better never experiencing that from him ---- especially since he was a wonderful Master as plaything in which, because of course it sounded obligatory, he would have to showing to the Doctor that level of threatening was very different of the Master, in which she would have considering manners of that old enemy very nicer to handle. Coulson already perceived a slight fragment of presented danger he was representing under his order to dealing with a villain organization by himself for not be the one with bloody hands. An CIA mole would also remaining emotionally tormented by his methods, concerning one tiny thing really, the simple following order regardless of values difference, there was one accord in which he would have to refuse, even if he wanted to accept it. Maybe that incarnation hadn’t wanted saw beyond the appearances, after all, presenting themselves for who they are within the urban legend they are wasn’t part of the job description. Maybe she wanted to believe he was just a random villain as she crossed many times, who simply had hobby to observe everything.
He had Everett Ross for that. Nice fellow who had been attracted by how his ambitions could be heard, and well, all things were coming from a price, even if he already knew he was compromising himself with some dirty business, since he was pulling an vagueness concerning the Phil he was (since it’s was an occasion to using his resemblance of Coulson for making him believe it’s was indeed him handling that additional appointments) … who eventually had been wrapped by all the pressure to be expected to have MIB as superiors. Even Coulson not wanting an alternative villain of himself doing uncontrollable business under his watch had to play carefully that game with him. So what the dreadful Doctor had card against him, mh ? If he wanted to be nasty, he could assassinating her with all terrible truths about herself she wanted not to remember, and oh, spoiling in worst way possible how her storyline will carry on. Though, such gentleness treatments were coming from Featherine’s orders, for craving violence.
❝ Nooooo, you don’t seems scared at all~~ ❞ He mocked beautifully. ❝ Once more, I will insisting over how lucky you are~ How pleasantly within a good side you are with me~ How happy you can be I have other toys in which I can play to scare them, when I can be certain, every time I will touch delicate parts, they would beg me~ ❞ He confessed amusingly. ❝ Do not give me a reason to have to scare you. It would be so damaging for our relationship. It would be so much damaging for all the help I can offer. ❞ Afterwards that sentence, he returned inside more seriousness, as mocking features remained. ❝ You shall revise your history concerning some certain group of people monitoring aliens. Just in case for know kind of treatment you are spared of~ ❞ Another laugh. ❝ After all, if I even heard the sound of an complain coming from Coulson about rules he is bonded to, I’m afraid I will have to do more than offer an nice partnership between each other, between ourselves~ ❞ Amusement increased further during one second, failing down inside mockery. ❝ It’s kind of threat I am proposing. You’ve heard about the omerta. You must already know what could happen if such important thing end up break. By the way, that why I have to introducing myself to you directly. Coulson is forbidden ever to talk about me with someone else. Never for complain. Never for request help because oh, the pressure is too high on his shoulders. The script appears to be a collection of disconnected and nonsensical phrases and actions performed by various characters, including Emerald Ventures, Jeff, Turk, and Blob. The dialogue is often fragmented and difficult to follow, and there is no clear storyline or plot. The script jumps from one action to another, with characters discussing topics such as color codes, training schedules, football games, and shopping. The title of the script, "New York Turkey Makes Granola," seems to be completely unrelated to the content of the script, as there is no mention of granola or New York turkey throughout the script. Overall, the script appears to be a random assortment of ideas and actions without a coherent narrative structure. As New York Turkey heads to work at Emerald Ventures on his PC, he finds himself in a completely different world from the chaotic script he just experienced. In contrast to the disconnected and nonsensical phrases and actions in the script, New York Turkey is now immersed in the world of business and professionalism. He works on his computer, discussing topics such as sales figures, market analysis, and project timelines with his colleagues. The script's fragmented and difficult-to-follow dialogue is replaced by clear and concise business language, and the chaotic jumps from one action to another are replaced by a clear sense of purpose and direction. While the script's title, "New York Turkey Makes Granola," has no relevance to the content, New York Turkey's current work at Emerald Ventures appears to be well-structured and goal-oriented. As New York Turkey navigates his work at Emerald Ventures, he reflects on the nonsensical script he just read. The disconnected and fragmented dialogue from the script contrasts sharply with the structured and organized communication he experiences at work. New York Turkey begins to wonder about the purpose of the script and whether it was created with intention or simply a haphazard collection of ideas. Despite the lack of coherence in the script, New York Turkey can't help but admire the creativity that went into it. He thinks about how it could be reworked with a clearer narrative structure and storyline, and how it might be transformed into a compelling piece of entertainment. As he wraps up his workday, New York Turkey decides to meet up with The Blob to discuss the script further. They start bouncing ideas off each other, brainstorming ways to bring more coherence and structure to the story. As they talk, New York Turkey begins to see parallels between his work at Emerald Ventures and his efforts to improve the script. Just as he strives to create a well-structured and goal-oriented business plan, he is now working to turn the script into a coherent and compelling story. In the end, New York Turkey realizes that both his work and his creative endeavors require careful planning, clear communication, and a sense of purpose. While the script may have been nonsensical, it provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of structure and coherence in all areas of life. -- Watch live at https://ift.tt/ZlIbeki by Sketchy Kids

Dream of the Endless and the problem with time.
Been doing a lot of thinking about dreams and time recently. Actually, Dream is the Endless closest to his father, closest to being out of time. Destiny is written in Destiny’s book, which means all of it is there all at once, but it becomes chronological by reading the book. Desire and Despair both have an object which is in time, to which relations are formed over time. Destruction takes some object in time and has an effect on it, which needs time. Death spans several periods of time from there beginning to their end, each life only lasts until their time runs out. Even Delirium exists in time, even if she might make people lose track of it.
But Dreams are inconsistent, every dream may in itself be a story, chronological, but there is no link between one dream and the next except maybe for the personal growth and experience of the dreamer, which may be driven by dreams but again takes place in conscious hours, outside of The Dreaming. If linear time is to be understood as a row of cause and effect, it is not chronological in the Dreaming but tumbled and fragmented. It almost exists out of time, which passes in the Waking, tying together events and making progress and long.lasting attachments possible, because every night it is reset, making place for a new story.
One of the reasons that Dream’s personal growth took so long might have been that he had a lack of relations with a realm where time passes chronologically, thus allowing change. He changes a lot during his imprisonment in the Waking, where things are forced to happen in order.
The reason why he could fall in love with Nada so fast is that time is fleeting in the Dreaming or maybe does not pass at all. If he promised her forever, how long would it last? Maybe just for the span of one night, and one dream, maybe all of the Dreaming’s existence.
That is to be said, for Dreams and nightmares time does pass only partly chronologically; think of the Corinthian realizing over time that he wanted to be his own person, but also think of Cain and Abel always forced to repeat the drama endlessly.
Time is introduced to the Dreaming by the Dreamer’s and even so at multiple points simultaneously and not at all after its usual cause and effect logic.
Now think of Dream as the personification of the collective unconscious, which is not at all linear or logical, basically random inserts of lots of different thoughts all at once, very few of them leading anywhere, some of them repeating endlessly (it is very likely that Dream’s mind works as if he had ADHD).
Imagine, if you will Hob and Dream arguing over which realm is more real:
Hob: “Everything that happens in Dreams is of no consequence, people don’t even remember it most of the time.”
Dream: “It is of the utmost consequence. People need dreams to understand themselves, to learn.”
Hob: “Yeah, but all that learning happens in the Waking. People can only know themselves really if they’re consciously thinking about it.”
Dream: “What even is consciousness if there always repressing their true intents. In my realm everyone is their truest self, thus the Dreaming must be more real.”
Etc.
(On that account, I think the whole storyline with Dream’s ruby and John Dee unlocking people’s secret dreams is very Freudian).
Anyway, Dream appears as a being who by his nature is not designed for change and capable of it only within other realms, through the help of others.
#I don't know how to resolve their argument to be honest#which do you think is more real?#If you wan't to read about different views on the matter of time I suggest to you Ursula Le Guin's The Dispossessed#the sandman#the sandman tv#dream of the endless#the endless#the sandman comics#father time#morpheus#the dreaming#hob gadling#cain and abel sandman

Rambling about Vivi and my relationship with the game
Okay the response to my previous post was bigger than I anticipated, you guys are making me feel supported and valid and thank you so much for that ;o; <3
I’m an anxious person and an overthinker. Should I just make art posts and occasional headcanons/analyses/observations? Should I be more personal? I made this blog with this specific purpose to be openly cringe about my new obsession, so I guess there’s no point in trying to moderate myself, worst case scenario people will just scroll past something that doesn’t interest them, right?
I’ve never really told you how I got into the fandom and how Vivi was born, although it’s a peculiar story. Maybe I’ll talk about my ✧content plan✧ too if there’s still post space left. So if you wanna know more about that, I invite you under the cut!
The background’s a bit depressing, a fair warning. I’ve been an mmo and oc nerd since 2012, my first game was Wakfu: quit in 2015-2016 but kept the ocs, about a dozen of them, still hoping to tell their stories one day, then GW2: another dozen characters that never really got the chance to grow into ocs. By the time I started poking around in ARR in 2021 I felt listless and fandom-homeless so to say. Both Wakfu and GW2 are pretty obscure to begin with, then the games themselves strayed too far from my standards and expectations, that on itself is worth a huge rant but this isn’t the place and time. Games do fail, fandoms do die down. I still play GW2 to this day since I find its mechanical aspect, a loud word fully deserved: perfect, it’s plain fun.
But in late 2021, when I still slogged through ARR on my own, I also watched WoodenPotatoes, my fav GW2 youtuber, play all the way up to 5.5. I share a lot of common traits with that guy, namely the cynicism :’D I was like, show me what you’ve got, convince me why you’re such a critically acclaimed game. GW2 and FFXIV are polar opposites in several ways, I won’t derail into comparisons either, just wanna say that I had my standards and a lot of criticism for the mechanical side of FFXIV (spoiler: I still do, but there are other empty niches that FFXIV fills for me!). I was in a full cynic mode, and even that didn’t stop me from being completely blown away, wiped from the surface of Earth when I saw the aforementioned guy play and comment on ShB.
Turns out there was one box unticked for me, I didn’t only feel unwelcome in my old games/fandoms, I also missed the safety and trust you have in FFXIV concerning the lore/story. Despite being an artist with a knack for oc development and interactions, I thought of myself as a mechanical mmo player. You know, raids, pvp, tryharding. I still find great joy in that, geez, I play GW1 (one) which regularly hands me my ass on a plate and I LOVE that, but yeah, I didn’t realize I also needed the comfort of knowing that I can emotionally invest in a game’s story and characters without worrying about the immediate future.
*claps hands together* Here comes the catboy!!!!
I’ll drop the highly specific and personal details for now since those are worth a full essay on their own, just gotta emphasize how much I needed this story and this character right then and there, at the end of 2021. The more I thought about him, the more at home I felt. That I could still survive into my thirties, go through everything in my life, feel nearly drained of will to live and create, and then meet a character that’d bring me back up to 100 within months, if not weeks.
My personal life’s still a mess too big to even mention it, so I won’t. I’m just aggressively burying my head in the sand and hyperfocusing on the new comfort zone. You can tell I’m being productive, each art on this blog is like, me actively trying to comfort myself, luckily it works every time.
So, new game, new passion, what about the character I experience that passion through? My WoL was a lala.
My WoL was a lala.
Look I didn’t even glam her properly..... I just loved the hilarity of the dragoon class flavor + pink potato, I farmed those sweet commendations because of that. I also had a catgirl on another account, I actively tried to find a character that’d click with me, that’d ground me in the game world.
I’d just watched WoodenPotatoes’ complete playthrough up to 5.5, my own progress was still at ARR, these two lovely lasses were.. Lovely, but I didn’t vibe with them. Bluntly speaking with the privilege of hindsight: my gay ass wasn’t at peace. I tend to gravitate towards male ocs.
Third time’s the charm, eh?
I was going into my own playthrough knowing that ShB isn’t only a storytelling masterpiece, but a vicious dating sim as well. My only braincell was already fixated on Raha and I needed a character for him.
That probably separates Vivi from many other WoLs. He was born for ShB, for Raha, with a specific purpose. Why elezen? Because, firstly, I’ve already been drawing elf people since 2012, it’s my comfort zone, secondly, by the time I dove into ShB I was acutely aware of the catboy WoL army, other races just never clicked with me, elezen however is the obscure cool kid among this bustling party of cat and bunny people. *shrugs* I just can’t help myself! I told you about Wakfu and GW2 specifically to point out that I’m drawn to obscurity, to niches, hell, hardly related but to prove the point: I’m also a rhythm game addict and I have an obscure anime rec blog. A vocaloid fan since 2008? Listening mostly to voca metal, alternative, all those nerdy niche things.
So I join a popular game, become obsessed with a popular character, and, being myself, choose an obscure race for my WoL \o/
Just to clarify, there’s no self-deprecation, only statements. I’m confident in my tastes and choices, whatever they may be, I’m only liking the good stuff >:D
Next part of the story you can already see if you scroll down to my first posts here. Knowing his destination, I started working on Vivi’s character, picking glams for him, slowly figuring out how to draw him (I’d say his visual development’s 80% complete by now). Fortunately for him, not only I’ve made 30+ ocs over the last 10 years, I also make adopts for a living. I’ve got the skills needed to develop a cool and happy character. Look, happy character =/= character without some kinda issues and angst, I mean happy as in relatable, believeable, alive.
Alive, that he sure is. If thinking about Raha as a separate character brought me back to life, looking at him through Vivi’s eyes made me feel like I’m in love too. Another thing to make clear: Vivi isn’t me, both him and Raha are my kin to a degree but I’m trying my best to stay aware and away from projecting. It’s just inevitable that you as a creator become some kinda medium/proxy for your character’s thoughts and feelings, and it’s beautiful. Even if I find myself in pain and wailing sometimes on their behalf, ha.
I don’t have much good going on in my own life so I live through my characters. It’s hard to explain how exactly I know things about them, of course it doesn’t come all at once. Vivi’s been around for 5 months now. I started working on his story early on, however I’d say my vision of him and Raha only fleshed out in the past 2 month-ish.
Can’t believe a weeb game made me write fics again. I’ve published one over on AO3 already, a few more are slowly cooking still, mentioning them only because they actually complemented my creative process behind art and comics, helped me get that elusive “feel” for the characters, and generally, surprisingly, approaching writing on a serious level did good things to my mental state, previously disastrous. My head feels like a much more orderly place now. Well, it’s also brimming with the catboy and elf feels, which is ever welcome.
So, I’m going about my business, then something clicks, I get an idea, a scene, an interaction, and rush to write it down. There’s a 20k+ words main document for my comic, several side-documents for later chapters and random unordered stuff, fics that fit into the main storyline and should be published within context. Soon I’ll be ready to start telling their story.
This post’s already too huge and waffly and wow if you’re still here, wow. You’re just as crazy as myself, but sincerely thanks for sticking with me :’>
I promised to talk about the so-called content plan, well, I sort of already did, mentioning the comic. If you’re observant, you may have noticed the name Fragments and some numbers floating around my tags. Fragments is the cheeky name of the comic, there IS a deeper explanation but I’ll leave it for another post. Whatever bits and pieces I’ve published under that name so far are “canon” and DO belong to the main story, however, I haven’t officially introduced the comic yet, there’ll be a launch and all that. Someday. Sometime soon.
It’s big and promising and exciting, still it’s just my personal project that I wanna be thorough with. Sorry for possibly being too vague about it, I take the “ship it when it’s ready” approach, I don’t rush things because they’re first and foremost for my own enjoyment.
For now thanks for looking at the random pics and comics I’m posting, I treat them as character flavor samples, as promo illustrations so to speak, while I’m chipping away at the main comic in the background.
Okay I spoke my heart out just like yesterday, feels nice. Thanks for all your support once again ;/////; <3

Expanded Storyline for Stage 2: #Rendezvous
Setting:
The stage takes place in a fractured, post-apocalyptic urban environment, blending futuristic tech with remnants of old-world charm. The backdrop is a desolate city, where towering skyscrapers and mutant-controlled zones intertwine. The environment is riddled with obstacles, mutant-related hazards, and secret passages leading to the Xavier Academy. The New Mutants Gang is scattered across the city, and Lisa must reunite with them to secure a safe route.
Objective:
Lisa, with her cybernetic enhancements and sword mastery, must locate and rescue members of the New Mutants Gang—Dani Moonstar, Cannonball, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, and Magik—before regrouping at Xavier Academy. Along the way, she uncovers layers of the city’s mutant-controlled territories, facing hostile factions, unexpected alliances, and remnants of Xavier’s legacy.
---
Detailed Narrative Progression
1. Opening Cutscene: The Mission Briefing
The level opens with Lisa receiving a cryptic holographic message from Dani Moonstar. She learns that the New Mutants have gone undercover after a botched infiltration mission in the mutant-dominated zones. The message is fragmented, showing scenes of chaos and conflict, leaving Lisa with only one clear directive: Find the team and make it to Xavier Academy before the sentinel drones detect them.
---
2. Act 1: Into the Fray
Lisa’s First Encounter: The level begins with Lisa infiltrating a crumbling building that serves as a hideout for Cannonball. Players experience their first major combat tutorial as Lisa uses her cybernetic hand’s agility and swordsmanship to fend off hostile mercenaries who have captured Cannonball.
Character Dynamics: Cannonball, known for his brash but loyal demeanor, joins Lisa, offering his ability to launch powerful aerial attacks. Their partnership is key to breaking through barricaded zones.
---
3. Act 2: Wolfsbane and Sunspot
Wolfsbane’s Lair: Players enter an abandoned subway station, where Wolfsbane is trapped. Lisa must navigate stealth-based challenges to rescue her while avoiding feral mutants who’ve taken over the area. Wolfsbane’s ferocity and tracking abilities add another layer to the gameplay.
Sunspot’s Capture: The team discovers Sunspot locked in an energy-draining device controlled by sentinel drones. A high-intensity puzzle sequence requires players to override the device using Lisa’s hacking skills and cybernetic precision while protecting Sunspot from sentinel reinforcements.
---
4. Act 3: The Labyrinth to Magik
Magik’s Trap: Magik is found deep within a labyrinthine cathedral, where her teleportation powers are being blocked by anti-magic technology. Lisa and her team must solve intricate memory puzzles, engage in combat with high-level mutant enemies, and disable the tech to free Magik.
Dimensional Rift Encounter: Once freed, Magik opens a dimensional rift to bypass heavily fortified zones, leading directly to Xavier Academy’s outskirts. However, the rift is unstable, and Lisa must defend the team while Magik stabilizes it.
---
5. Final Act: Xavier Academy's Betrayal
Upon reaching the academy, the team discovers it has been overrun by a rogue sentinel faction led by a powerful new antagonist. The once-safe haven has become a battleground, forcing Lisa and the New Mutants to rally and prepare for a counterstrike.
Cliffhanger Ending: The stage ends with the team entering Xavier’s War Room, where Lisa finds a fragmented holographic message from Professor X, revealing that the sentinels’ rise was not random but part of a deeper conspiracy targeting mutants globally.
---
Key Gameplay Elements
1. Team-Based Gameplay:
Each rescued mutant adds unique abilities to the team:
Cannonball: Aerial combat and explosive attacks.
Wolfsbane: Enhanced tracking and stealth takedowns.
Sunspot: Fire-based attacks and energy absorption.
Magik: Teleportation and magic-based combat.
2. Exploration and Hidden Secrets:
The level is filled with Easter eggs and lore, including graffiti from past X-Men battles, relics from Xavier’s teachings, and secret areas revealing more about the mutants’ plight.
3. Puzzles and Minigames:
Energy Lockdown Puzzle: To rescue Sunspot, players must navigate a sequence memory puzzle under a time limit.
Cathedral Labyrinth: A blend of combat and spatial puzzles requiring players to work with Magik’s dimensional powers.
4. Combat Variety:
Each act introduces new enemy types, from feral mutants to advanced sentinel drones, encouraging players to adapt their strategies.
---
Tone and Atmosphere
The environment’s design mirrors the stage’s duality—hope clashing with despair. Bright hues of mutant powers occasionally light up the otherwise shadowy, dystopian setting.
The stage’s score is a mix of orchestral undertones and electronic beats, reflecting both the urgency of the mission and Lisa’s resolve.
---
Stage’s Role in the Overall Story
#Rendezvous solidifies Lisa’s role as a leader and introduces key allies essential for the later stages of the game. It also foreshadows the deeper conspiracies affecting mutants globally, setting the stage for a larger, more interconnected narrative.
